The summer evening was cool and quiet. The full moon was already peeking out from behind the mountains, glimmering from up above. The rustling leaves of the trees provided some cover for you and your squad of hunters as you waved for them to follow you. You all kept as quiet as you could, the only sound being the fragile leaves crunching under your worn out boots whenever you moved.

You were all on a mission, to find any kind of edible berries or meat to bring back to your camp located just on the clearing at the edge of the forest. The food supply of your squad’s base back home was running low, so you all headed into the woods to replenish and collect whatever was possible. As of now, your squad had quite the collection of edible plants to take back. The artificial pouch wrapped tightly around your waist was filled to the brim with an assortment of berries and veggies to return home later.

“This will be enough to last us for weeks,” you call to your group, turning to them as they all nod at you. You stand up, dusting your legs as you shuffle your boots in the opposite direction. “It’s getting darker. We need to head back as soon as possible before we run into a pack of cake hounds or something worse.”

“Yes, captain!” They all say in unison, making you chuckle under your breath. You don’t really like the name ‘captain’, but your crew refuses to call you anything else. You were the one who did most of the work back at camp, so what else could they call you? They looked up to you a lot! Even though you wanted to, you decided not to argue with your group about the name again, simply opting to quietly start walking back to camp with them following closely behind you.

As you all walk in silence once more, you begin to ponder about your life back at the camp. It’s been so long since you started living in a small camp by the forest, you don’t even remember ever leading a comfortable, peaceful life. All you remember is needing to run, run as far as possible, because it was no longer safe for you to stay in your hometown. Ever since then, you’ve lived in a camp far away with a number of survivors and lived off wild plants and animals to survive. It was a rough life, but you all managed, and you've all grown to see each other as more of a family than just other survivors.

Your lips subconsciously curl upwards at the thought. You’re about to turn around and say something lighthearted to your group, but something stops you. You pause for a brief moment, before sticking your arm out for the cookies behind you to stop as well. Something isn’t right. It’s quiet… too quiet. Birds and crickets were chirping peacefully just a few minutes before you began heading back, but now it was just eerily quiet.

“…We’re being stalked. We need to hurry back right now—”

A sudden loud roar and the earth rumbling below your feet cuts you off and leads you to instinctively pull your makeshift knife out from your pocket. The rest of the cookies with you pull out their own weapons as well, an uneasy tension immediately building within you all.

A roar… all too familiar. Well, to you, at least.

“We need to get out of the area, now!”

Your voice was full of urgency as you urged your squad of hunters to run away as fast as they could before danger could find you, but alas, sometimes it’s nearly impossible to avoid these confrontations.

The trees around you are suddenly ripped out of the earth one by one, its roots nearly hitting one of your group members in the face. You yell for them to get back, having a certain feeling of who was threatening you and your group.

“Foolish cookiesssss…”

And you were right.

The Legendary Red Dragon’s familiar red scales come into view, their fiery breath causing surrounding temperatures to rise suddenly. They rip out the tree providing the last of any cover you had previously, exposing you and your group to the large beast. When it spots you, it grins widely, its large and intimidating fangs peeking out.

“Foolish little cookiessss… you dare trespassss on my land…?” Their loud voice booms across the trees, your ears ringing slightly as they laugh and taunt you. “You will come to regret thissss…”

This isn’t good. You would usually be able to deal with threats like these by yourself, but now you’re more worried for the safety of the others. You don’t care about what happens to you, as long as they can get back safely then you’ll feel alright.

Gritting your teeth, you turn towards your comrades.

“GO!”

The Red Dragon’s grin widens, but you don’t notice as you’re too focused on getting your crew away. Again, you yell at them, “GO!”

They all look at you, a mix of shocked and fearful faces staring back at you. They don’t want to leave without you, they can’t! What will they do without you?!

“Just go! I’ll be okay! I promise! You don’t wanna die, right?! Then go!!”

After a few more moments of you yelling and them trying to argue, your group finally (although very hesitantly) leave you alone with the dragon.

Once they’re completely out of sight, you finally turn your attention back to the large dragon in front of you. Their head tilts as they growl lowly. Their sharp fangs make you falter slightly, but you don’t back down.

“Brave little cookie…”

“Drop the act, Lizard, they’re gone. What do you want?”

They purr, their eyes dilating, “I wanted to ssssee you.”

You huff, “So that’s why you nearly scared my group to death?” as you cross your arms across your chest. Undeterred by your annoyance, Pitaya Dragon Cookie chuckles sinisterly.

“Those cookiessss were weak anywayssss… you are much sssstronger than them…”

You sigh. “So you did all that just so you could see me again?”

“Correct.”

This dragon…

“Well, you’ve seen me now,” Normally, you wouldn’t be so annoyed with the dragon in front of you, but you weren’t happy about how they treated the other hunters. “Now isn’t the best time, Pitaya. I need to head back.”

“No.”

You were starting to get a little irritated now.

They noticed your exasperation, “Little cookie…” they drawled, head lowering to move slightly closer to you, “I haven’t sssseen you in sssso long… sssstay longer…”

You flinch instinctively as they suddenly transform into their much smaller cookie form. They flip their hair, approaching you smugly before gently taking your hand in theirs, in hopes of maybe buttering you up. Their cold armor makes you shiver when you feel it touch your warm skin.

You stare at them for a few seconds of silence, watching as they practically make puppy dog eyes at you, before you let out an exaggerated sigh of defeat.

“Alright… fine. But I've got to get back s— oh!”

Pitaya Dragon Cookie swiftly picks you up bridal style, chuckling to themself as you yelp in surprise. Their ego multiplies tenfold when they notice the undeniable blush on your face.

“Sssstay a while, my favorite little cookie…” They grin, loudly purring at the sight of you noticeably trying to hide the color painted on your face. Their grip on you tightens very slightly as their eyes practically sparkle at your beauty.

“I’ll make our time sssspent together worthwhile, my little hunter.”

ive been saying since the beginning, this team was capable of getting to finals if not a medal but everyone wanted to doubt me. this squad is so impressive, their persistance, their skill, their DEFENSE. like this is the strongest i think ive ever seen them play, call it recency bias or whatever but i have high hopes for them and it payed off

(also shoutout to japan for showing that height can put you at a disadvantage but it doesn't matter more than you're skill, and this team is amazing and deserves their medal they played 2 great matches against brazil and a great one against turkiye, AND the took a set from italy when usa and poland couldnt)

I had a feeling they would make it to finals but to be honest i kinda underestimated them. after their vnl performance last year it felt like they had further to go. week 1 they did ok BUT the SECOND egonu came back it was over for the other teams. now italy definitely isn't a one player team, orro used the full squad in the offense when she could rely on egonu, the middles were on it (especially denesi), sylla and degradi being my girlies (tho they need to know how to stand up cause everytime the camera is on them theyre on the floor sjdkfdjls), antropova is also amazing it must be said, but DE GENNARO imo is one of the reasons they came so far like her, nyeme, kojima, and castillo are my fav liberos...

I had said earlier in the tournament i thought the medals would be brazil for gold, turkiye/poland for silver, and italy/usa for bronze.... (ofc also my dream of japan but i was scared to say it cause it seemed so unlikely) and look at what we got. proves that volleyball is a fun sport to watch

16-18 twiniverse years.......ooohugh thats tough!! that's a big chunk of time. idk if you remember what it was like to be 16, but damn, not fun. that period is also what kyle and i have lovingly called 'on the rocks/OTR' era because the entire shivlina family is going THROUGH it.

time passes. shiv leaves, karolina works, audrey trudges her way through school (+ a million panic attacks), and talia gets a boyfriend that no one asks about beyond their first date. (his name is brian and he's kinda funny, and he looks at talia like she's real, so it's more than enough. its everything.) life goes on.

So -- 10th grade summer. twins are newly 16. audrey's failed a math class and did not tell shivlina, like fully intercepting their emails to make sure nothing from the school gets through. it's terrifying (exhilarating?), she's never done anything behind their backs before, and she doesn't go to summer class to make up the grade. talia promises not to tell, but what the hell is audrey planning on doing instead? first generation high school dropout?

shivlina finds out (talia is hiding behind them), everything goes to shit because that's their unofficial 'good' kid, and shiv's about to fuck off to DC full time for the upcoming election. shivlina (karolina) spends some time getting audrey tutors, therapists (shiv still calls them shrinks), and generally handling it, because that's what they do. talia gets tossed to the wayside to do whatever (reddit mod?). it's rough!!! they're on separate courses because that's what teenagers and mothers do, and now they're in different directions entirely.

shiv and karolina drift away from each other, karolina checks the news to send shiv poll numbers that shiv saw last week. shiv sends karolina flowers and promises to fly back one of these weekends, it's just so fucking busy. there's an important event at some point, some charity dinner, that pushes them apart, but then a little closer together. it doesn't matter, because it falls to shit at christmas.

also excuse me i wanna talk about my little mirror family so bad its not even funny. im like. because of my own inhibitions concerning family, i rarely ever plan out and embrace my characters families but these fucking guys.....

okay so as i said, we have fjord as well as kestrel 👇

the both of them were left alone for quite some time like it was JUST the two of them which is unusual since mirrors prefer to be in large packs but the clans they were born in didnt have any other mirrors. they met eachother out scavenging and it was like LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT okay like im so cheesy cuz they are cheesy in a brutal mirror way LOL so they decide to run away together after visiting a few times cuz they naturally are just drawn to other mirrors.

kestrel was unsatisfied with the glimmery landscape of the starfall isles and honestly she is just. shes a girlboss never forget that she loves to hunt loves to run, loves the thrill of surviving and making a place for herself in the environment but arcane flight is full of little fuckin NERDS so she proposed the idea to go back to where they belong. and fjord obviously loved the idea if you couldnt tell. he wasnt bored but he would follow her literally anywhere 💀

they founded their own clan there and it was quite lonely for a while. until they found tarren

despite how he may look, tarren is upbeat and jolly, and he believes that you shouldnt just survive and come out on top, you should thrive. you should be happy. fjord and kestrel honestly found him a bit annoying at first since he was so uncharacteristically chatty for a mirror, but eventually they let him stay since he knows the land better than them and is genuinely helpful

so time jump their clan is definitely not thriving but they are still alive and thats what matters. things start looking up once the other carrions come together to lead the scavengers, their clan is nursed to health and is actually functional. YIPPIE!!

throughout their history kestrel and fjord have tried to expand their clan and start a family but it never worked unfortunately. both were too emaciated and not adjusted to the sickly landscape they now called home. they had always been really sad about it but fjord was out scavenging one day and he was looting through some corpses to take whatever they had that they clearly didnt need anymore and he found a plague egg. clear as day, alone in the cold clutch of what he assumed to be its parent. the sight was gut-wrenching to him, and considering how badly he and kestrel had wanted children, his decision was made quickly: he would take the egg and pray that whatever was inside of it had survived whatever killed its parents.

and then it gets better, they actually managed to have an egg a few years after crypt hatched

THEY they are such a tight knit family like they were INCREDIBLY protective over both adder and crypt while they were younger, to the point where theyd bare their teeth at their own clanmates if they got too close LOL

it paid off tho cuz they both survived and have grown up and theyre. THEM AND THEIR LITTE KILL SQUAD theyre great hunters naturally as mirrors but MAN they are a force to be reckoned with. a lot of mirror packs split randomly and merge whenever so im assuming MOST those mirrors dont actually know each other. hunting with yr little family tho? they look out for each other and keep each other safe which makes them more efficient

crypt is pretty quiet and more observant which she probably gets from tarren (who both her and adder consider to be their uncle). she mixes well with the other scavengers and is agreeable, if not a little odd. she usually spends time with adder, and is the levelheaded one in their duo.

adder on the other hand is just like her mother, aggressive and snappy. she'd get into more trouble if she didnt have her family looking out for her.

they are just. THEY ARE SO SILLY I LOVE THEM SM

fjord and kestrel quickly embraced the plague flight once they abandoned the starfall isle, especially since their breed originated from underneath the wing of the plaguebringer, so it just felt natural to them. fjord found a way to apply his magic abilities, adapting them to take after the plague element. its good contrast when kestrel is a very physical fighter, they compliment each other well.

okay thats all i feel like talking about for now but i just needed to get it out cuz i love them im having a lot of fun planning this shit out

Context I was thinking about my like version of the Pokemon world so obviously the one inhabited by my ocs but was also considering the crossover au of the Rosy Maple Moth squad and how in my friend Cinnatwos lore their mew Maple is the mother of Mewtwo and Newtwos as their offspring were stolen. But Moths lore he canonically had a run in with a mewtwo that tried to kill him and I don't think that makes sense for it to have been one of Maples kids especially as he would've sensed similar aura but is completely unaware of her lore

SO to get around this and also desperately try to be unique for my pokemon world I tried to come up with new lore for my version of the og mewtwo, if other blogs get to have the og then so do I XD so in moth squad au there's like 2 separate version of the og, too powerful lmao

My version of mewtwo is similar to xxtcs who was originally a mew first, but unlike Scarfy he had lived most of his life as an adult full grown mew before his capture, the initial string shot did not register as malicious and the speed drop left him incredibly overwhelmed when he was grabbed by more shots of webbing before being hit by a powerful dark pulse, he basically got like 10 speed reduced status effects in one instant mobility severely limited then smacked in the back before his head was yanked back with yet another string shot to receive a nose breaking Shadow Ball.

The metal electric cage thing was inspired mostly by Phlurri (do check out all these brilliant artists BTW I haven't @ them as it feels inappropriate but like go look), but also by the canon ones used in multiple movies like on the legendary birds, the electric fidget spinner thing in the Celebi movie, the zappy shock machines in the second mewtwo movie and those used on newt, the electric netting in the Latios Latias movie, the metal box cage in Zoroark...im seeing a pattern here... Pokemon really likes their bad guy with electrical restraint devices

Anyways these guys clearly knew what they were doing and mew was overwhelmed and severely injured.

My thinking is as its never said what Amber died from/how she died (and like, I checked! I was on her wiki page this morning I couldn't see anything), I've decided Amber had some kind of genetic disease/issue which killed her likely very quickly just she's suddenly really unwell and then she's gone and they couldn't have predicted this. Now you'd think then cloning a new Amber who'd have the exact same genetic structure and would have the same disease and die the same way would be cruel but Dr Fugi had what he considered a big brain moment. Mew is the genetic pokemon, humans and Pokemon were at some point the same, so he wants to splice Mews perfect dna into Amber's to fix and replace the damages to her dna structure to clone a better healthier Amber and maybe even add more benefits like better immune system expression of human Psychic powers ect which that's leaning into very heavy genetic tampering of your own daughter there Fugi. Of course Ambertwos dna genetics rejects the mew sequencing because that's Pokemon dna you absolutely tool. So Dr Fugi goes "the dna is too different, I need to make it easier for Amber's genetic sequencing to accept it," which sir, just get therapy it's probably cheaper. And so he splices HIS dna into the mew because adding Amber's damaged dna into the mew would be counter intuitive but as her dad she has half his dna so by using his which is healthier (tho still a carrier of this genetic disease I imagine), Amber's body should be less likely to reject it. If you're an actual genetic scientist please don't come for me I know this is probably vastly incorrect. So mew gets forcefully spliced with human genetics, resulting in becoming mewtwo.

At some point they likely give the now mewtwo LOTS of drugs both painkillers because of the genetic splicing rejection, forceful immune system suppressant and subsequently merging of dna and altering of his physical form as the new dna is incorporated is hella ouch and also they try to amnesia him when he tries to fight, won't want to escape if no memories of freedom. So Dr Fugi kind of because Mewtwo human genetic father. Also while Ambertwo rejected mew dna, mew probably is unable to reject Fugis dna because of a mix of drugs and probably a lot more aggressive implantation of dna they would've added significantly more of Dr Fugis coding into Mews body to force acceptance but would've been more delicate with Ambertwo naturally.

The new mewtwo dna is then taken and put in Ambertwo and it stabilises her for a while allowing her Psychic access to Mewtwo. I think Ambertwo holds some awareness of things and sees the scared small traumatised confused mewtwo struggling to grasp at fading memories and knows what has happened was wrong, so very wrong. And like in the movie she still dies, I think to some degree she willingly kind of goes "I don't want my life to be made this way," and let's herself slip peacefully back to sleep once more leaving Mewtwo alone.

And then like usual plot lore he starts growing bigger due to human dna, wakes up, kills people, gets manipulated by Giovanni, commits crimes and murder, questions Giovanni and bails when he realises he was lied to and used and goes fuck it I'm taking ALL you bitches out. A very grumpy man

He's probably a lot more cynical than others due to his vague memories of being a mew knowing his life was stolen because of one selfish human and he hates the mew he encounters in the movie as they're like a mockery of himself giggling blissfully at his agony a reflection of look what you were look what you've lost.

He's a lot more hateful of other twos as well he thinks generally they shouldnt exist ever, he has a lot of projected hate, he believes the others genetic freaks and abominations because they're made as twos off the bat, he's different he tells himself he's better than them because he was a natural creature first. But really he hates himself the most because of what he lost and envies the kind of innocence the others have of not having lost a life. He's just going through a lot don't worry he'll get put in therapy

But yea this is the weird short comic thing of my boy and introduction to him and if I never draw him then oops.

Y'all know that post about "what if there was a Smash style game but with public domain characters"? This Post? Yeah i had an idea for that 😂 Though my idea wasn't "Jay Gatsby with the steel chair!" (Although that is a very funny mental image), it was "Anne Shirley with the chalk slate!" And so this comic was born! Also i threw in Victor Frankenstein cause he deserves to get smashed over the head with a slate by an 11 year old actually, maybe it'll teach him some humility like it did Gilbert.

Also Marilla and Gilbert would be summonable characters with funny catchphrases, you know they would--Marilla with her "Fiddlesticks!" And Gilbert with an apple pun (as is his wont). Truly I'm sad this doesn't actually exist.

I seem to be on a "fave media x 80's cult classic" kick right now (there'll be a Sailor Moon x Back to the Future post sometime in the future), so let's have my latest combo: the Young Jedi Knights Squad (Jaina, Jacen, Zekk, Tenel Ka, and Raynar) as The Breakfast Club! Aka a fanfic that i will never write and yet so desperately want to see written i already made Fanart for it. Go figure. Anyways have some iconic scenes from the movies!

The Players:

Zekk is, obviously, the "delinquent"; he's an orphan, he has to work and scrounge up his food and clothes, he pulls harebrained schemes for the adrenaline rush--he's a teacher's (specifically Brakiss's) worst nightmare. Of course, that's not all he is; he's got a key mind for mechanics and technology, helped by his scrap searching; he stays out at all hours because he doesn't like being home alone (his guardian Peckham, who he loves like family, is often away as a truck driver, and it gets lonely in their little house without him); he's kindhearted, and fiercely loyal, he just doesn't want to let anyone in out of fear of losing them, or that they won't like what they see....

Jaina is the "princess"; the only daughter of the Governor, she's been groomed to play nice and hang out with the other children of politicians and CEOs since she was just a little girl. Nowadays they form her primary group of friends, the most popular kids in school, looked up to--or down upon-- by their peers in equal measure. And... She kinda hates it. She stays with them only out of obligation, to make her mother's life easier, but she doesn't particularly care about any of them and doesn't even particularly enjoy their company; it's all drama and gossip and a revolving cacophony of dating and breaking up and bitter exes and rivalries and she is sick of it. She would much rather be spending her time at her dad's auto shop, getting her hands dirty tuning up engines and changing oil and bonding with Han. She can't tell anyone that tho, it would ruin her reputation...

Jacen is the "jock"; the twin brother of Jaina, he also feels a certain pressure to stay in with the popular crowd. He achieves this by being captain of the fencing team; it's no star quarterback position but it is still respectable among his peers. Fencing isn't his true passion, tho; he'd much rather be spending all his time at the local animal shelters, or assisting at the zoo. He's an animal lover through and through, but it's something he hides from his "friends" so that they don't have reason to shun him for being a "sissy." He knows there's nothing ignoble about his hobby, but they don't know that....

Tenel Ka is, for lack of a better term, the "weirdo"; she comes from somewhere called Dathomir, from a culture of fierce warrior women, and boy, does she act like it. She will readily duel anyone who looks at her wrong, she eats entire animal legs for lunch, and she never seems to show much emotion.... Ever. Add to that her missing arm (which no one knows the truth about btw, rumors fly about it being anything from a childhood accident to one of her duels gone wrong), and she cuts an intimidating figure that most students avoid. Is there more to her than that? Oh is there. Is there ever.

Raynar Thul is the final member of the crew; he's the "trust fund baby" that hangs out with a very specific clique that even Jaina and Jacen aren't a part of. He comes across as snobbish and standoffish, unwilling to dabble with anyone "lesser". This is a front, however; he projects this persona because it's what his parents expect from him, and he doesn't want word getting back to them about what he actually does: extensive volunteer work. Raynar has a drive to help people, and has been trying to use his privilege all through high school to do just that, by volunteering at food banks and for highway clean up, and donating as much of his allowance as physically possible where he can. In fact, it's how he met his girlfriend Lusa, but that's a whole other can of worms...

@lizartgurl you know that scene we low-key talked about? I drew it 😅 nothing like a good set of parallels in your star wars fan art!

And I'm also of the opinion that Zekk's dynamic with the twins when they were younger is basically 50% Off Makoto and Nagisa, so i present Zekk, explaining one of his many adventures to a pair of kids that i will explain below the cut because their story is... Complicated, and started literally a decade ago 😅

Pitch Perfect RarePair Week 2022, Day 1

Because we all know the REAL reason Jessica and Ashley didn't get much screentime in the movies was because they were busy being James Bond-esque super spies/secret agents and living out their very own Mrs. and Mrs. Smith AU. Speaking of, hey, Pitch Perfect fandom? I have seen ZERO Mrs. and Mrs. Smith AU's for these two yet and I am APPALLED. It's perfect for them! Secret hidden lives, confusion over names (because they've got so many cover identities it's hard to keep track who's who), JESSICA'S LAST NAME IS LITERALLY SMITH THIS FIC WRITES ITSELF.

*ahem*

Anyways, welcome to my first entry (EVER!!) for Pitch Perfect RarePair Week! I rewatched the first movie recently, hyperfixated, and came to the realization that, apparently, it's "oops all rarepairs and hot takes" for me 😅. This seemed like the perfect way to tentatively test the waters of truly joining in, ya know? And so, I offer this drawing as your prompt, oh fic writers of the fandom; if you want to write this AU, you've already got free fan art for it! And my undying devotion.

This is, of course, for Prompt #1, "this is me trying"; I'm sure this was intended to be an angsty, emotional turmoil between partners prompt, but I couldn't help but turn it on its head into a comedic exchange in the middle of a High Stakes Infiltrate-and-Extract job, ya know? YOU try cracking the safe then, Jessica, if you think it's so easy! 😂

My #1 post of 2022

"Have I known you 20 seconds ....

......or 20 Years?"

(or: I couldn't find a satisfactory Anne of Green Gables bookmark so I made my own)

So, I really wanted a bookmark featuring my all time favorite Anne quote, aka the "diamond sunbursts and marble halls" line. But I couldn't find a good bookmark that I liked that also featured that line, so I just decided, what the hey, I'll make one myself, and I can do it exactly the way I want to! And then I did 😂.

I wanted a double-sided bookmark so I could feature a scene from each of my two favorite adaptations of Anne, i.e. the Sullivan movies and Anne with an E. I knew the Sullivan side would have the main quote since said quote actually appeared in the movies, and from there it was an easy decision to pair it with the reunion scene from A Continuing Story, a) because that scene has lived rent free in my head since I was 10, and b) while the first kiss that came after the actual line was beautiful, the reunion scene brings a different, more desperate emotion to the quote that I really like. It's in the way they clutch at each other desperately, the way Gilbert's face is pressed into her shoulder so tightly you can see wrinkles in his skin appear, the way Anne runs her fingers through his hair, the whole scene just screams "all I've wanted for two straight years was just to hold you in my arms again" and I burn I pine I perish.

After that it was just a matter of figuring out the Anne with an E side. I decided pretty quickly that I wanted the bonfire scene, both to contrast the other side by splitting the image up and because that scene, almost more than the actual first kiss scene, really cemented Gilbert's love for Anne to me, you can see it in his eyes as he looks up at her, illuminated by fire, like he's looking at his own personal goddess. And with that idea came the decision to use his letter as the quote, albeit shortened cause homeboy was rather wordy in confessing his love (which I adore that's a whole other rant) so that I kept the main, emotional hooks.

Then, I surrounded each one with meaningful flowers (lilies of the valley for the og, queen Anne's lace for the newbies), splashed some watercolors across the backgrounds for some flavor, and that was that!

Btw these are both done on toned mixed-media paper, it's thick and it's almost a cross between card stock and cardboard. I designed the whole thing in pencil, inked it in black and white, then threw watercolor over the top before finishing with water soluble markers and retouches to the white gel ink where needed. I plan to laminate this for it's protection but these pictures were taken unlaminated.

so @gretagerwigsmuse triggered a family fluff piece for rooster and houdini, our beloved actress & aviator pair, and im just picturing a barbeque get-together with the dagger squad???

first of all, i found the perfect house for them with a kickass deck and a barbeque station and a fire pit that they would use to host get-togethers any chance they get 😍😍 rooster would man the steaks ofc (he is seriously built for the dad life, houdini’s considering to get him a phone clip for his belt for christmas) and she’s mingling and entertaining, secure enough to leave their girls with the squad

their eldest stevie is super chill, either drawing or making a flower crown or building a lego set or having a princess tea party, hangin on the couch with her nerdy uncle bob and fanboy and strangely enough... mav (he’s mellowed out a little after roo has kids. apparently all the self-preservation instinct he lacks goes into a very careful approach to child safety lmao). it’s all very serene and zen and wholesome

their youngest charlie? complete murder chaos. she’s chasing squirrels, catching bugs, climbing trees, the whole nine yards. hangman is a good distraction tho bc he has no qualms of lifting and throwing the child around (and he can toss her pretty high in the air), but when he taps out, he taps the fuck out and let stevie put whatever princess regalia on him. the little girl doesn’t mind tho, bc uncle payback’s so tall he could help her pick oranges right off the tree. but out of the whole squad, phoenix is charlie’s favorite bc she’s the only one who can keep up with whatever weird shit she’s currently into

Hey barb! Loooooove blood moon and super excited for the full moon (AWOOOOOOO) you always seems so nice and chill so i got curious, i know the IF community can be fucking terrible sometimes (ive seen a looot of my fav authors getting anon hate and disturbing messages) so i got curious, do you get those as well? I Know Mila for exemple (Golden & Before the dusk sets in) got a lot of shit for putting a black werewolf as a RO (even tho B is my favorite but i might be biased because of the werewolf part) so im curious if you got the same with Vicky and Ed for exemple? and it was, actually! it had its funny moments here and there to balance out all the angst. from our newest golden trio singing in the plane and the car to their visit to the temple.

(minwoo's bp joke honestly made me laugh, and i do hate that it was him who said it lol jk)

imo the case's biggest contribution to this ep was that it brought all of them to jeju-do.

it's the things that happened while the squad was in jeju-do, in the middle of this business trip, were the main focus for me.

1. uncovering myeongseok's divorce. the show gave him the spotlight he deserves.

he told us his past, how much he worked even then that ultimately led to his condition now and his eventual divorce. i don't think he'll d word. we see him walking okay in the ep 14 preview when they visit the temple. (at least, i think it was him) ((also im in denial, he cant be terminally ill. he cant!!))

the squad might be trying to find the haengbok noodles owner for him, i think? but we'll see if that's relevant to the case or not.

2. suyeon and minwoo. is it it surprising that this happened? i don't want to say yes in full confidence but it's not a definite no.

we saw the way the camera focused on him when suyeon got a new hairdo. his reactions to when suyeon said she'd aggressively win someone over were also indications of his interest. those were hints that this was bound to happen. they established this in the first ep, i feel like. your typical enemies to lovers trope.

but does it warrant that confession FROM SUYEON we're getting tomorrow? i honestly don't think so and i hope it's a fake out. minwoo likes suyeon. sure, ok. i can understand, can't say i like it.

but you're telling me that suyeon likes him now? even after knowing what he did to youngwoo? after one walk in jeju? REALLY? if that's the case, i think she falls easily :( she fell for junho and her one night stand i think, and if that's the case, then this thing minwoo actually might make sense. doesn't mean i have to like it tho.

(joo jonghyuk's cute BUT MINWOO? TACTICIAN KWON MINWOO? no. he's a -12)

3. meeting junho's sister. we'll get into that one later.

4. minwoo's backstory. i sympathize with his situation. it's difficult to be the breadwinner of your family. you need to endure everything to provide and it gets incredibly lonely. he's suffering, and i can't fault him for that.

does that excuse his behavior, though? nope.

i can't get behind on a redemtion arc for him. he could've not went to taesumi, or they could've shown us him regretting ever going to her as he uncovers more about taesumi and youngwoo's relationship (or lack thereof) and then he apologizes to youngwoo because that's the least he could do after what he did.

but nah.

i just feel like it's a little too late for them to appeal minwoo to us, to say that he's not that bad of a guy.

he still is, that ableist prick. nothing will ever excuse his behavior towards youngwoo. ever.

but, anyway.

i loved that we got some of the cutest whale couple scenes in this ep! junho smiling when youngwoo arrived, even though he was still upset at her for what happened. youngwoo making junho guess the names of the dolphins in the pics, the plane talk and the whole seatbelt thing - i could be here for a while.

but my personal faves are: (non-verbatim)

"i have 154 (bows) left"

"no, it's still 155. you started late."

"why are you keeping track?"

"just keep going."

and

"i should've rented a van with an open roof, too."

"there are no vans with open roofs."

"right." *in like a "yes dear" type of tone*

if not date, then why wooho act like a couple married for 10 years??? 😭

↳ joined by friends the geurami, minsik, and myeongseok trio was so refreshing and funny to see!! their colorful fits and their singing in the car were top highlights.

i'm so glad they joined, because we not only got to see the whole cast together, but they were there as a saving grace for all the minwoo scenes we got. (hahaha jk... hng)

minsik not being (totally) awkward and sad around suyeon after their failed date is nice. he's still trying, though, but i hope he gets over her.

i love geurami so much and her scenes in this ep just sealed the deal for me. the clock scene is the best one!! she'll do anything for youngwoo, that's her ride or d word!! she'll slay any ticking clock that disturbs youngwoo for eternity.

but she needs to open her eyes and see that minwoo is not the boy for her.

↳ junho's sister is going to have to sleep with one eye open she really does.

i was really hoping that voice we heard in the preview wasn't someone related to junho. i was imagining them both overhearing it, and youngwoo opening up to junho about her worries and him reassuring her that their relationship isn't like that.

but, well.

firstly, junho wanting to introduce youngwoo to his sister is a big deal. that's what you do when you're serious about the relationship. not that we've seen anything from junho that states otherwise. but time and time again, he proves to youngwoo (and us, the viewers) that he's in this for the long run. he's committed!! he knows it will last!! HIS FEELINGS ARE NOT TEMPORARY!!

and it sucks big time that junho's sister clearly doesn't see that, too blinded by her assumptions.

before meeting them, youngwoo asked geurami for tips to impress them. after hearing that junho's sister will be serving them meat and raw fish, no gimbap, youngwoo was hesitant but since she remembered what geurami said, she said it was okay. junho even insisted that she didn't have to force herself to eat them, but she still did.

i made this point in a post earlier, but she did it all for junho. she sat there and ate something she wasn't used to eating because if it meant that junho's sister and her husband will approve of her, then so be it.

but they didn't.

and it led to youngwoo questioning their relationship. "am i someone who can make junho happy?" it's especially painful to hear that after seeing how wide junho's smile is just at the sight of youngwoo alone.

his sister had the audacity to tell him "you're not going to marry her, so don't bother telling our parents."

in junho's head, they've been married since this scene.

probably.

but he we saw how worried he was before moving forward in this relationship. he's 100% sure of youngwoo. he's down so bad for her and he's in this for the long run.

i've said that, but clearly junho's sister needs it drilled into her head.

my frustrations simmered down a bit now, but i'm still so incredibly disappointed at how things turned out. not at the writers, no. but the scene in general and the fact that we're going to witness a whale couple breakup tomorrow.

they need to be able to communicate this properly. saw someone said that wooho were better at communicating before they were dating, and i can definitely see that. this is a drama, and tbh when i said in ep 12 that their little bickering was necessary, i meant that. and i mean it for this one, too. that doesn't mean i enjoy seeing the angst tho. these are two people i want to protect.

i'd hate for the writers to throw the healthy communication down the drain in ep 14. they should talk it out!! and i mean in that beach, not when they go back home. we have 3 eps left, are they seriously going to make us wait??

we haven't heard anything about boston since ep 11, if i remember correctly, and we have 3, episodes left. i hope they're not ending it with her going to boston, but it's becoming a possibility?

first of all, i fuckin hate langris. Do I hate him in general? or just the way he was handled? hard to say. but there is something about him that just aggravates me so much that i wanna go ape shit. first of all, the sheer audacity of this bitch is through the roof. He's all like “uwu how dare my older brother move out and leave all the responsibility to me?” i don’t know, maybe because he’s spent literal years putting up with verbal abuse from his parents followed by having to witness his own brother emulate the exact same toxic behaviour, not to mention the fact that he was literally told left and right by everyone, including YOU that he was a failure and a pushover and was no good as an heir, and the moment he’s not an heir it’s suddenly a problem to you? “our parents are kind to me”, bitch your parents’ love hinges entirely on your ability to perform offensive magic and being an obedient puppet you aint got shit to brag about. “if only someone was kind to me like this” GUESS WHAT? YOUR BROTHER FINRAL WAS KIND TO YOU THE ENTIRE GODDAMN TIME, HE DIDN’T SAY A SINGLE BAD THING ABOUT YOU EVEN WHEN YOU TREATED HIM AS NOTHING MORE THAN DIRT. just because you can't handle the fact that your entire self worth is dependant on performing a very specific set of skills/behaviours in order to gain approval of your family doesn’t mean you gotta take it out on finral who actually had the guts to get his ass out of that toxic family and in spite of his terrible upbringing made a conscious decision to remain kind to others. good god, go to therapy you stupid bitch. i honest to god hate the way tabata pulled the whole ‘finral is gonna try and step up his game to get his right as an heir back’. like no, my man aint got nothing to prove to these bitches, he’s too good for them. like why can’t we FOR ONCE have a character come to a realisation that their family aint worth shit and just stop chasing their approval, and yes i am looking an Noelle and the entire Silva drama (and no i don’t care for Nozel’s reasoning, he did a terrible job and him suddenly acknowledging that noelle is a strong fighter does not count as a redemption)

also what the fuck is the deal with golden dawn? the supposedly ‘greatest’ magic knight squad? these assholes barely even count as a squad, it’s just a bunch of classist cunts wearing coordinated outfits trying to pull the rug from under one another at every opportunity. i just fuckin hate them and i hate the way tabata decided to make their ‘approval’ of yuno into some emotional moment as if they haven’t been actively discriminating against him for better part of the year because of his social standing. as a result it also made their defeat at zenon’s hands feel kind cheap? like i know the story was supposed to tell me that i'm meant to be sad that they were defeated and half of them died or some shit, but i just couldn’t care less (also just to make things clear this rant excludes mimosa and klaus, and yes even tho klaus was being a cunt as well he did change his mind - although it was only after fighting by asta’s side but that’s a convo for another time). In general i feel like with the whole golden dawn situation the narrative really did yuno dirty is what i'm trying to say, you know? like he was being full on ‘im gonna get into the best squad’ and it's like you sure did my dude but, at what cost? Meanwhile, Asta who got into the ‘worst’ squad is straight up having the time of his life and once again you could argue that black bulls also barely count as a squad, but that’s because they legit refer to each other as family, and at this point we’re not even having a competition here.
