can you give us the rundown on your vaggie/lute thing? i dont think you ever ended up posted it but ive always been curious

i did Not post it bc the post i wrote out made me sound like an insane person. moreso. than usual. this also unfortunately made me sound like an insane person.

this is all very much personal opinion over overt critique i think. though i would still call adam/lute a Bad choice, narrative wise.

the gist is i think vaggie/lute have infinitely more interesting potential than adam/lute (which is the direction you can tell it's going from day 1) not even in a 'aww i like tis ship!' sense just in a. idk story sense.

if lute/vaggie were some kind of weird toxic yuri, vaggie being left behind as violently as she was and lute's pure vitriol towards her makes more sense imo? as is it just makes lute feel cartoonishly evil. why would she even do that, over adam? does she even have that authority? why would she even be following vaggie in the first place...is she really the type who'd spare someone that makes (what she perceives to be) an unforgiveable decision? like...really, would she let vaggie live.

primarily what comes to mind i guess is that i think there was a lot of interesting (and imo thematically relevant) potential for that kind of relationship between the two of them. vaggie being someone who was forced out of an abusive poisonous environment, and then finding growth and love amongst the people she had been manipulated to look down upon is already kind of canon i guess but i think lute, with the context of vaggie being some kind of potential romantic interest of some kind, having to come down and witness that this person she has such history with is not only happier, but happier with someone who isn't lute when she's in what lute perceives to be the worst possible position. because i'd imagine lute cannot imagine anything lower than being in hell. i'm sure she would perceive sparing a demon as a personal betrayal, if a loved one did it. anyway would that not be compelling. i don't think lute would regulate those feelings well lol. esp if we want to tack on 'her bestie was literally permamurdered to death and vaggie is actively affiliated with the side that did it' like. come on. right. do you understand. grabbing you. do you understand-

i guess ultimately i find it wasted potential to not set up something between the much more emotionally charged dynamic between lute and vaggie (esp as their current animosity feels kind of meaningless to me. why is lute so cartoonishly evil. what was their relationship before vaggie got goofed) over some kind of one sided pining between a confident woman like lute and a man who was never even very nice to her

tl;dr: vaggie and lute being two confident strong fighters and lute being drawn to that only to reject her vehemently when vaggie shows compassion and then grapple with lingering feelings watching her almost-ex become happier without her would be crazy yuri and yet

his cheeks go red – not from your pinching! he can't believe you've done this. jail. jail for reader for 1000 years. but to be very honest... xiao doesn't really mind, after a while. he might go red and mumble under his breath, but surely the pinching of his cheeks isn't the worse thing he's had to endure, right? if you continue doing this, it may become his... sort-of preferred affection. just saying. the embarrassed blush never really goes away, though.

zhongli

gets embarrassed, tries to pry your hands away, but to no avail. who knew you were so strong? his words get jargled with the way you're holding his cheeks, a soft tinge of crimson painting them. for someone so old, his baby cheeks never truly went away. it's quite cute, really – seeing him giving in to the pinching after seeing the pout on your face. if he's had enough, zhongli kisses you to stop the pinching. it always works.

diluc

is this really necessary? he mumbles, his eyes not making any contact with you. physical affection made up a big part of your relationship, but this? it was something reminiscent of his childhood – when adelinde fawned over him like this... when he was the only son of the ragnvindr household. diluc doesn't push your hands away at all... perhaps the king of mondstadt is more soft-hearted than he looks.

kaeya

kaeya has never truly had someone offer him this kind of physical affection – the most he got was from a much younger, happier, and healthier diluc. crepus and adelinde were around, but kaeya always couldn't help but notice the slight distance that was put between them. when you first pinch kaeya's cheeks. he doesn't ask you to stop – rather, he kisses your hand and asks you what that means.

childe

laughs, and pinches you back in retaliation. it reminded him of the times where he used to lovingly annoy tonia and teucer, but this time? peppered with cheek kisses after, exactly on the sore spots. you laugh when childe asks you if you think that this is funny, and shakes his head playfully when you reply with a giggly yes. it's worth it though – seeing the sweet smile on your face after.

neuvillette

doesn't quite understand how to react. on one hand, a part of him is screaming in embarrassment. the chief justice, standing in the courtyard, with his lover cooing and pinching his cheeks? the other part of him is just happy to see you. neuvillette gently pries your hands away and leads you to a more private part of the opera èpiclése, smiling, and kissing the top of your forehead. there are more sun showers that day.

getou could plant acres of flower fields with how much roses he'd gotten you. you can't even remember when you'd told him your favorite flower, the innocent seeming question still forcing you to fill up vase after vase of beautifully picked red roses. the amount of times getou had shown up to your door, hands behind his back with a smile plastered over his face at your weary sigh. "what did you get now, sugu..." "i don't have a clue what you mean, my love."

maki will take the extra step and take you with her when she gets a gift idea, finding the way you'd fret over her funds as she casually bought you yet another scarf she caught you eyeing much cuter than surprising you with it. this happens so often that she's caught you snapping your head forwards when letting your eye linger on something too long, making her laugh and peck your cheek before snatching it up before you could notice.

⋆｡˚ ♡ QUALITY TIME: quiet nights, spent curled up next to each other simply enjoying the others presence. sitting next to you while you play your favorite game, throwing occasional questions at you and smiling when you eagerly answer them. sometimes they get sheepish at how in love they are, that you simply being there makes them feel happier than anything. but when you're cozied up next to them, snoring softly against their chest, they can't seem to care too much about anything else

megumi is the king of silent time together, claims it helps him study and plan for missions when nothing is happening around him. and while that's true, often times he will replace 'feeling lonely and wanting your company' with 'studying for an exam'. he's sure you aren't aware of what he truly means when he asks to come over though, even when he shows up with no textbooks or notes to 'study from', and immediately goes to cuddle up against you when you usher him inside your room.

choso is..very clingy lol. always following behind you wherever you go, sitting next to you with a soft smile even as you aimlessly scroll through your phone. he's so silent that you've forgotten his presence entirely a few times, yelping when you hear a low sigh or a shuffle of his hand against your own. you felt a little exposed at first, always being under surveillance by him, but you adjusted pretty quickly and accepted his way of affection.

⋆｡˚ ♡ ACTS OF SERVICE: call it a hero complex, but they just adore being your knight in shining armor. holding the door open for you, finishing an assignment for you after learning how stressed you've been recently, wrapping their coat around you when it gets too chilly out, making your favorite meal just because they could. why should you have to do things when they're right there?

toji, despite having cast away his family name, was still raised by a traditional family. which meant he'd assigned himself to any hard work that needed to be done. plumbing, cleaning, repairing of any kind, he was on it. at first he did it out of habit, used to being forced to pick up any chore that others didn't feel like doing. but over time, the way you'd thank him and hug him tight when he did something for you made his heart melt. nowadays, he almost gets giddy when he hears your frustrated mumbling from across the room, happy to help you yet again with whatever you needed.

yuuta is really the sweetest thing... he's always ready to help you out, no matter how small the issue is. the mornings are his favorite, though, watching your chest rise and fall peacefully while sunlight slowly made its way across your sleeping form. he loves being able to tidy up your room and get breakfast ready for you while you peacefully sleep the sunrise away. he'd turn his head towards the hall as he heard your footsteps shuffle closer to him, a blanket draped over your sleepy figure as you greeted him.

inumaki, even with your reassurance, still feels guilty at times for not being able to talk with you how you're used to. deciphering rice ball ingredients in response to you asking when his is birthday isn't the simplest task, unfortunately. so, he always makes sure to show his love through simple tasks he can do for you. keeping extra snacks in his bag for when you get hungry during class, handing you his umbrella if he notices the sky beginning to dribble on your way home, even when you insist he keep it. he doesn't mind the rain if it's with you.

With Jax being the main star, he took the initiative to be the voice of the band, making the theme more towards rock, although they usually sing more funk and folk songs

Kaufmo was the former singer, he left after Jax antagonized, ignored and played several aggressive and embarrassing pranks on him for months in a row. He believes that the clown and Zooble were the main culprits for Ragatha breaking up with him, and while Zooble does not tolerate the antics, Kaufmo was more sensitive.

Pomni was hired as a last-minute singer by an agent who certainly doesn't know what he's doing to help a failing band.

At the last minute, however, she couldn't face the challenge and left the stage. This caused the already fragile band to completely dissolve.

TWO: When Life Gets Mixed Up (ft. Sunoo)

previous chapter

You didn't have the time to look at the pretty architecture this expensive-ass school consisted of, but luckily, it wasn’t too difficult to sneak past the front office and make it up the grand staircase to your classroom on the second floor. You could feel the surprised eyes of your fellow classmates and the heavy disapproval nearly radiating off of your homeroom teacher, though, the weight of her glare nearly knocking you off your feet. Still, the relief and adrenaline coursing through your veins at your safety made you far too happy to let that bring you down.

“Yes, well, despite being so late and interrupting class, I suppose you should still introduce yourself to everyone,” your teacher, Ms. Yoon, sniffed.

“Gladly!” you chirped before turning to your class of bewildered classmates and bowing. “Hello, everyone! I’m Y/N. It’s my first day here, so let’s all get along. It’s great to meet everyone!”

Some classmates called out responses of hello and nice to meet you which made you grin ear to ear. Ms. Yoon directed you to an empty seat in the back corner of the classroom by the window, telling you to put your bag and supplies in the locker after class, and you recognized the boy that would be your seatmate as one of those individuals that had responded positively to your introduction.

You waved to the boy with a bright smile, which he responded to in kind. His face was small and round, with sharp, fox-like eyes that contrasted with his otherwise soft features and watched carefully as you sat down next to him, brushing his dark bangs out of his face.

“Pretty bold to walk in so late on your first day,” he noted with a raised, amused brow. You placed your bag down on the ground and sighed.

“You have no idea what I went through to get in here. My life was literally on the line,” you said with a pout. The boy chuckled at this, his eyes squinting into crescent moons as he grinned.

“You’re a pretty funny person,” he mused. Sticking a hand out, he continued with a pretty smile, “I’m Kim Sunoo. Let’s get along, Y/N!”

Taking it, you shook his hand firmly. Sunoo’s smile and sunny disposition (made even sunnier by the fact that the sun was shining high in the sky in the window behind him, quite literally giving him a halo-effect) warmed you from head to toe, and you couldn’t help but smile in turn. The fact that you had a seemingly nice (and very cute) desk partner made the whole fiasco of the earlier morning seem like a distant, bad memory. 

“Yah, Y/N! You just got here and you’re making trouble?! Pay attention! And Kim Sunoo, don’t be spreading your nonsense around, you hear me?!” Ms. Yoon, mid-droning out announcements, snapped from the front of the room. You shrunk into your chair, just a tad embarrassed from the sudden attention, while Sunoo just rolled his eyes hard so hard you were surprised his eyes didn’t pop out.

“Yes, Ssaem,” he replied in a bored tone. When Ms. Yoon turned back to the board with a disapproving huff, Sunoo turned to you and made a mocking face with a matching “yapping” hand, opening and closing it like a ranting mouth, finishing with rolling his eyes. You stifled giggles behind your hand before nodding in agreement.

First period was literature, which was thankfully your strong point; you were able to score brownie points with the literature teacher, Ms. Shin by answering tactfully to the difficult questions about writing structure and theme exploration Ms. Shin threw your way, because it was about a short story you had read in your previous school. Even Sunoo nudged you and whined, “Hey, leave some questions for the rest of us. You’re making us look dumb.”

You winked at him. “Gotta be faster, Sunoo. I’m motivated, that’s all!”

He groaned quietly, huffing and turning away from you as you laughed under your breath. “C’mon, I’ll help you if you need it! I know you said you didn’t really read it,” you urged, poking his shoulder. 

“What a teacher’s pet,” he sulked.

You recalled the other teacher’s pet you had run into that morning, and how perilous of a situation you had forced him into (seriously, what kind of misfortune and evil did you bring about that you could implicate such a good person in your crimes?!). The twinge of guilt in your heart came back full force, and you were reminded that, at some point before you went home, you definitely had to hunt that guy down and thank him. Maybe even offer to slay an enemy of his or two. It was only fair.

“Sunoo! Since it doesn’t seem like you’re paying very much attention, this next question is to you!” Ms. Shin called out in irritation. While Sunoo shot up to sit ram-rod straight in his chair, she asked, “In this short story, what is the significance of the main character’s curtains being blue, and why is it notable that she opens them at the end of the book?”

“Uh.” Sunoo stared blankly back at the teacher, who only waited at the board with crossed arms and pursed lips. His eyes slid to you furiously scribbling something on a sticky note, widening as you slipped it to him underneath your desks, which he took into his nervous hand. 

Looking down at the note, it read, “dead hub’s eyes r blue -> curtains were closed 4 most of book -> she meets new guy + falls -> she moves on!! gl!! :D” 

“Um, so, the main character’s dead husband has blue eyes, which matches the curtains and she, uh,” Sunoo looked down at the note under his desk, “spends most of the book mourning her husband’s death, including closing herself off from other relationships, which is what the closed blue curtains represent! Then, she meets a new lover and opens up again to form new relationships. Opening up the blue curtains represents how she breaks away from her grief, allowing her to move on and continue to find happiness in the present.”

The silence was palpable, as if Sunoo had just grown a second head. Then, the teacher, with only a slightly surprised raise of her brows, nodded and said, “Huh… Nicely put, Sunoo. Good job,” before turning back to her lecture. 

Quiet whispers burst out throughout the room. Murmurs of, ‘I didn’t know Sunoo was such a good student like that,’ and, ‘Didn’t you know he’s actually really dedicated? He’s just chatty; the teacher should have more faith in him!’, and ‘Ugh, I can’t believe Y/N got the seat next to Sunoo. It’s so unfair!’ filled the air but were swiftly and mercilessly shot down by Ms. Shin’s fiery stare. After a few seconds, class returned to normal and Sunoo tapped on your desk as the teacher turned back around.

“You saved me, Y/N. I owe you!” he whispered with a grin, crumpling the note and stuffing it into his pocket. You shook your head.

“Nuh uh, you did all the analysis yourself, you scholar. Teach me your ways, Sunoo-ssaem,” you teased softly, laughing as Sunoo rolled his eyes and whacked you on the shoulder. Then, recalling your previous train of thought that you had lost in Sunoo’s peril, you turned to him and murmured, “Hey, Sunoo, do you know a Yang Jungwon by any chance?”

Sunoo frowned. “Yeah? He’s one of my close friends, but everyone knows him ‘cause he’s the student body president. Beat me out for the position,” he said with a pout. “But why?”

You had lit up for a second at the first part of his reply, then hesitated. So far in these past two-ish hours of class, you and Sunoo had felt like a friendship made in heaven. Conversation came easily, laughter and smiles were plentiful, and you were sure that if you continued down this path, you’d surely find out that you both shared many common interests. Was it worth it, then, to jeopardize this golden friendship with the truly embarrassing stories of what had happened that morning? God knew you’d be hard-pressed to find more friends at the moment; you could feel a number of girls’ stares at you (though, you had a feeling that wasn’t necessarily your fault).

“Well…” you began slowly. “Y’know, he helped me out this morning, that’s all.”

A smirk formed on Sunoo’s face. Suddenly, you were very scared of the glimmer of cunning in his pretty (pretty?!) brown eyes. “Oh, I see,” he said with a slow nod, “you wanna go thank your knight-in-shining-armor, huh? I can help out with that—”

You smacked his leg, causing him to yelp. Both of you froze in your seats, statue-still as Ms. Shin whipped around like a predator to find the source of the noise before sniffing and turning back to the board. Only then did you relax and turn to a once-again pouting Sunoo who was rubbing his sore leg.

“It’s not like that,” you scolded with a tight scowl. “If someone helps me, I won't let them go unthanked. Don’t think too hard about it; I just got here!”

“Oh, just a couple seconds with us is all you need to fall for us, Y/N,” Sunoo said with a confident nod. The face you made must’ve been worse than you had intended because his expression turned from confident to offended in a split second. “Hey, I’m serious! My friends and I are pretty popular, that’s all,” he protested.

Trading phones underneath your desks, you typed in your social media and your number into Sunoo’s phone. Once you got your phone back, you realized Sunoo had left it on his Instagram page, which was full of pretty selfies, cute scenery pictures, and a few shorts showing off his dance moves and recent trends, but your widened eyes were drawn to a number at the top of his screen.

“Wait, you have a hundred-thousand followers?!” you whispered, jaw dropped in shock. “You… are popular…”

Sunoo looked a little too smug at that, but you let him because you were struggling to fathom how any student could have a fandom. Was he actually a celebrity of some kind?

Ok so like at first after reading May's unckuna fic End Of Beginning I rlly wanted 2 make a modern no curse au fic of my own. Smth about sukuna and his dysfunctional emotionally unavailable and horrifically traumatized ass taking care of jins kid has a special place in my heart fr... and then ofc at first I had an au where I ramp up all the dark shit 2 like 1000000 billion.

At some point I'm not feeling the au bc it got super dark and I needed smth new after I saw the end of jjk. So I made a new au with my fixation about yuji being a basketball player with the idea of him having the same issues as me, and then I realized he wouldn't be scared of the same shit as me so i changed it again. I made it itafushi...

The way this idea occurred was bc one day I was watching a SHIT TON of r/inceltears and r/niceguys on it and it inspired me alot. Also nerd x jock thing...?? Yeah I put a stupid little twist 2 it and made megumi and incel.

BEFOR PEOPLE THROW TOMATOES AT ME, REMEMBER THIS WAS AN IDEA THAT WAS LIKE "lmao that would be so funny if megumi was a bitter incel and yuji was an allstar basketball player that everyone loved... omg he would hate him fr." And then boom the au started... it was a crackfic of an idea spawned by stupid hyperfixation on incel misery and at first I wasn't even gonna write about it.

The more I thought and talked about it the more in depth it became dude... like I've BEEN friends with an actual incel and I was in a rlly bad situation bc of it so I kinda wanted 2 base my expirence with those kinds of people in the fics. Then I started researching.... and hyperfixating and uhhhh then it spiraled out of control bc my autism said that IT NEEDS 2 MAKE SENSS 2 IRL ISSUES AND "OHHH I CAN TACKLE THE HARM THAT ONLINE SEXUALIZATION OF WOMEN AND MYSOGONY HAPP3NS!! I CAN TAKLE CONCEPTS OF PEER PRESSURE WITH PEOPLE ON DISCORD AND SHOW A CHARACTER SPIRALING 2 THE DARK SIDE FROM THEIR OWN STUPIDITY ON THE INTERNET!! I CAN SHOW TEEN VICTIMS WHAT ITS LIKE GETTING IN AND HEALIMG FROM THOSE SITUATIONS!!"

Main premise of the fic is this.

Megumi is an incel and yuji is the allstar on the basketball varsity team. Best of the best.

Megumi hates yuji bc he's jealous and bc he's insecure, hating on a "typical chad" bc being an angry bitter loner is easier to take out on someone else (who's a stranger) than trying to figure out what's wrong, let alone fix his issues. Meanwhile yuji wants to be Megumis friend soooo bad that it's embarrassing how many times yuji tries 2 start a conversation with him.

Yujis favorite color IS red tho so... yeah jokes aside yiji sees the good in him blah blah blah he's gonna save him in every universe and oh btw did I mention that megumi has awful emotional regulations around yuji??? yeah it was me who made the post about subbing in the assassins for the women - tbh i think you can assume if there’s a meta post about thk and comparing it to taming, im the one that made it cause i have genuinely not seen anyone else making meta posts about it shskdhd which is like fair! i get that people are way more familiar with 10 things and i also get the urge with the source material being so heavily about misogyny, but tbh i feel like you’re taking away from either one by making it about men, because while the misogyny isnt as prominent in 10 things, kat being a feminist is very integral to her character, so either way there’s things that are being lost if we’re saying it’s based on 10 things. but it’s just. very frustrating when i or other people comment on taming and people reply with stuff like “oh it’s not even actually based on that lol” because!! it is!! it actively is!! like i know a lot of people are gonna miss the direct references, hell IVE missed a number of references that i only caught upon rereading taming post ep5 but it’s such a discredit to jojo and the team when they have put in the WORK of this being a shakespeare adaption for so many people to just kind of dismiss it. like i have my grips with taking out the women but subbing them in for assassins and therefore allowing the stakes to be raised to the same manner that the misogyny exists within taming is something i have genuinely not seen in another taming adaption and it is utterly fascinating to me and it’s a genuinely interesting route for them to have gone. sorry for going off in your inbox but as a shakespeare nerd/someone who got their degree in theatre, i take the shakespeare aspect of this show far more seriously than most other people and it’s genuinely frustrating to me when people dismiss it shskdhd

Ok first off, please don't apologise for going off, I love this! I love reading about other people's passions and how they influence perspectives on something I also love because it's soooo fascinating to me the details that other people see that I'll miss because I don't have the same interest/background/experiences. Like. Everything Style right now is going to be tied to him losing his mother and how that influences his Character and Personality and Way of Looking at the World, but I'm also conscious that it's because that's literally My Story, too. Anyway, sorry for going on a bit of a tangent there.

I didn't mean to downplay (my tags here for context) the inaccuracy of assuming that THK is an adaption of 10 Things vs ToS, but what I was trying to get at is how it's simply easier for a contemporary audience to see scenes like Style embarrassing Fadel in the stadium as being a reference to 10 Things and Patrick serenading Kat at the end of the show and ignore the way the tone and the intention of the characters (Style in ep 3 vs Patrick at the end of the movie) are TOTALLY different, and actually Style doing that was far more in line with Petruchio subjecting Katherina to public humiliation in his method of wooing in the early stages of the play (although tbh I don't think that ever really changes in the play and in THIS, at least, I'm glad THK is ALSO a romance). Even the way the people in the stadium respond to Style's antics with baffled amusement is a better reference to how Petruchio's behaviour was mostly accepted by the society at the time despite how cruel it really was to Katherina.

But yeah, like, its just harder to see that because while both ToS and 10 Things actually does, as you say, deal with misogyny very intentionally, because they're both depictions of misogyny set in their respective time periods, what we see in ToS is SO alien vs what we see in 10 Things. And since THK is again an even more recent/current adaption, the social 'vibe' it has is closer to 10 Things than to ToS.

As a 90s kid, 10 Things was one of my favourite movies precisely because it unflinchingly commented on (and dramatised) my own experience of how girls/women were required to behave/speak/think in certain ways to fit a 'feminine' ideal, but if you compare it objectively to ToS, what it depicted was so much tamer (pun not intended) to what women in Shakespeare's time experienced.

And as someone who's currently working in education, it's sad to see the way classics like Shakespeare's plays have slowly lost value in education for more "modern" and "relevant" pieces of literature because I actually think the lessons to be learned in these works are so valuable and necessary to raise a generation of nuanced thinkers.

And the byproduct of this is that when people are watching something like THK it's simply harder to appreciate where the true inspiration lies.

Forgive me if this is weird to say, but as someone who really struggles to get attached to his own ocs out if fear of seeming cringe (and trying really hard to break out of thar) I really admire how much you unabashedly love your characters and how much it shows in your art

hahaha its not weird to say at all, I actually also struggle with this. I get a lot of self embarrassment and feel cringe about the fact that i draw the same things all the time, i dunno if that helps to hear. Sometimes I even refrain from posting things for a few days, or i wont post them in places like patreon or my patreon server or something cuz i have this fear of 'Oh Not Again.'

I think what helps me is remembering that first and foremost, I created my ocs for ME. I draw them for me. everything I do, its for me, coping mechanisms, self therapy, working through issues, or just for fun and aesthetic. They are extensions of me, and loving them is basically learning to love me. I put the care i should have been giving myself all this time into them, and it weirdly helps with my own self love journey, cuz honestly I feel pretty cringe most of the time and like i dont belong in most spaces. My ocs ease that, its a way of putting my heart and thoughts on paper so to speak.

These days i tell myself if people get bored, or dont want to see characters, or think im cringey, they have the freedom to unfollow. The internet is a vast place. When people are jerks about it, which I'll be honest, has happened WAY less than my brain tells me it will, i ignore and move on. No one has to be here. Has it happened? Yeah once or twice maybe, but compared to the positive messages I get its really rare. it's more that i think the rejection hurts us more when we hear it, I combat this by keeping a document where I've copy pasted all the comments/tags/dms that made me feel good, that way i can read through it and remind myself most people that are here love what i do. i like to think thats why people followed me.

And you know what, its so hard to separate ourselves from what people think of us, so remember the good things, cuz its incredibly rewarding that theres people who DO wanna be here. That love them maybe just as much as me. That feeling is WAY Bigger than the cringe feeling. The fact that i CAN be obsessive and cringe and people are on this ride with me? Holy Shit like I cant even describe how good that feels.

Create first and foremost for you. Thats the win, right there. And if it so happens others want to walk that road with you, well you've already won by creating so thats just a really cool bonus. Remember the kind interactions you have with people.They mean so much more than the negative ones. Love your ocs cuz they are a part of you in some kinda way and you deserve that love and care too.

....this is hard i have a few that are pretty bad. the one that hurts me the most is right where you left me (ghost au)....idk it's like sad and happy. they both sortaaa get what they need but also like they dont get to be together, and i think (hope) it was obvious from the start that a happy ending wasn't on the table for them

What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?

contrary to popular belief i write a lot of happy endings!!!!!! i want to say koi no yokan even though it's not out yet, not because it has the objectively happiest ending, but because the whole thing is so angsty and a lot of people have said they doubt that i'll actually give a happy ending. and i will! anyway, i'd say its the happiest because its like. relieving at the end. without giving too much away.

Do you write crossovers?

i don't think i'd write a crossover in the traditional sense where characters from two medias interact, but i've written au's where i put the characters from x show into the universe from y show. that's probably as close as i'll get to a crossover.

Have you ever received hate on a fic?

four times...ngl i was a bit confused abt one bc it felt like they hadn't read the fic, one time they just hated the ship and took it out on the fic, and the other was recent......that once kinda upset me bc of the second ask they sent.

uh. hm. i have. i'm very shy abt it so i would never post it in a way that'd tie back to me, and only a few ppl actually know abt the details.

oh god......um i think i do a good job creating an emotional atmosphere and taking the reader inside the pov character's head

description for sure. i'm just not good with visual things, whether its art or descriptions in writing. i'm also not observant which doesn't help like i couldn't tell you anything about what's happening around me right now which is Not Good. either way it hinders my writing fs. also i think sometimes i struggle w pacing and characterization. and dialogue. um. honestly i think i have a lot of weaknesses, i'm not the fondest of my own writing unfortunately.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

hm. i think it has a place ig, but personally i would never do it, despite the fact that i'm trilingual and definitely have the capacity to.

also this is an unpopular opinion, and i think it comes from my time studying japanese in university, but when i see like "gojo-sensei," or "itadori-kun" type things, it does make me cringe a bit. like i know that is what they are saying but like if i did that in class it would be marked wrong so i've just been trained to read it as incorrect.

kenny loves café and museum dates, though he'd be a bit worried that he's not smart enough to impress you if you go to a museum. he just really likes going because all the stuff is cool, but he's not one of those guys that can tell you more than the guide on any given tour. he might try to prepare and do a bit of research beforehand to try to show off though :)

it's very easy to tell that he didn't just happen to know all that stuff, but nonetheless it's incredibly cute

if he wants to go for something a bit bigger or special he might ask if you want to book one of those weekends that you can spend at an apple orchard or a pumkin farm in the fall, it would be really sweet and he'd take the cutest pics of you <3

his go-to would be a picnic in the nicest patch of woods that he can find. it's an easy choice because he's big on picnics in general, no matter where you are

he would pick some flowers for you and do his best to help you feel at ease. if you're new, you may be a bit worried about straying from the town even just a little bit, but he knows the place really well and he'd reassure you that the woods are safe as long as the sun is out

it'd be worth it when the knowledge of where you are begins to fade away. once you can no longer see colony house or the town, you start feeling like you could be on a normal hike, and that feels really nice

kenny would have changed out of his deputy uniform and into his nicest clothes for this and your heart would have nearly jumped out of your chest when you saw him looking like that for the first time <3<3

I am OBSESSED with dcmkdcmb rn, I honestly feel so validated knowing how many other haymitch simps are out there 😌 I want to get back into fic writing and was wondering how you would decribe your writing process? How much do you outline ahead of time? How do u stay motivated to write so much so quickly? I want to add to the haymitch tag but everytime I try to write I cant get enough down on the page to do him justice 😔

honestly the way i write is a bit unhinged (or maybe it's normal idk) but usually i get inspiration for like one or two scenes in particular. so i'll draft out that scene (or the bones at least) and kind of go from there. BUT 9/10 the original scene does not fit anymore so i have to completely rework it.

for example, with dcmkdcmb i knew that i wanted there to be an interaction with colette and snow. which is funny that that's all i had to work with but i knew that that would be a big pivotal point. after that i looked at that scene and was like "okay, how do i get there" and worked backwards.

as for how much i outline, it depends. dcmkdcmb is the fic that i have plotted for the most, but it has also changed the most due to his book coming out. so many of the original scenes i had were tossed out the window after it came out because they either didn't fit the characters or their relationship dynamic/stage anymore. and it's okay if that happens! i just write out the biggest plot points that have to happen (i.e. the knife incident, the snow threat, the breakup, the makeup, events of thg). one thing that i hadn't planned out was the dove threat. i knew that i needed something to get haymitch to finally give in to his fears and feelings, and the dove fit his character bc he's the type of person to weigh the pros and cons/the probabilities of things happening. so on one hand, he's like "snow is literally throwing this in my face and showing me what he's capable of" but at the same time thinking "he sent this dove AFTER i broke up with colette, wtf else is he going to do if i stay away? not on my watch! 🤓☝️"

to be fully transparent, i have always loved reading and writing! (embarrassing but i used to write fanfic with pen and paper in my middle school geography class LOL i HATED learning abt rocks) it's an escape for me, and dcmkdcmb was my own one when my nana was sick and i was in between jobs for abt a month. i couldn't control either factors, so i focused on writing instead bc it sparked joy. i will literally put on a tiktok edit or song that matches the vibe and just lock in. and i love being able to go back and reread my own work and be like "yk what... hell yeah." so that makes it really rewarding for me!

so, honestly, write something that YOU would want to read. if you're writing for others and it isn't something you genuinely like, you won't want to write it! i wrote dcmkdcmb bc hadn't seen any haymitch fics that were either not finished, too short, or didn't fit my personal interest/style of reading. i love oneshots but my brain works differently and i HAVE to have a buildup before diving into a story. like "yes.... yes..... they have been fighting their feelings for years...... the tension! and now they kiss!"

i think what u basically need to know is kano and ayano have a lot of weird baggage as is and both of them are like weirdly super into shintaro for some reason even though he's written as an obnoxious jerk but u also kind of see his charm. and shintaro and ayano are the canon couple obviously but you'd be surprised how much kanoshin holds up even in canon *runs away, falls on my face and my backpack explodes with novel 7 pages and I desperately try to get them back*
