let it be known that i love prince inigo with my whole soul. however sometimes it is SO much fun to think about owain and his two most loyal-est knights you ever seen: worst guy in the world #1 and worst guy in the world #2. i love retainer inigo and severa so much. retainers who bully you and make fun of you and trash on you but they’d leave behind everyone and everything they ever knew to follow you and protect you in a whole new universe. they love you so much that they’d swear allegiance to total strangers but that loyalty pales in comparison to what they’d do for you. and they were all lovers!!!!!!!
#ann plays awakening#awakening trio#sometimes i forget owain is literal royalty and like#in the bad timeline hes probably like. the second most important person there?? unless luci has a sibling#obviously she’d need her own retainers but unfortunately i am thimking awakening trio thoughts. i miss. i love them in any form#that they are handed to me#i love them as best friends. as forced circumstance allies to family. as lovers.#i know i said lovers in this post but im not sure they’d ever label it as that#to me its very much ‘its not exactly romantic but its too intense to be platonic’#what i am getting at is queer platonic awakening trio btw. in case that wasnt obvious#like no matter who they are or where they go they are eachothers people dude. like literally do not separate#anyways im gonna be thinking long and hard about who should be everyones parents in this timeline#i have what i call my ‘main’ pairings and thats what i use for most of my headcanons (ex prince inigo)#but i’d like a completely separate one for owain retainer trio#i think im pretty set on fred!severa#i couuuldddd pick fred!inigo which i do think is SUPER compelling as well but something about freddy!severa… also shes so cute as a brunette#like sorry… shes just so beautiful#ive been having a lot of thoughts aboht tharj!inigo and i need to figure out if thats current bias talking or if im cooking with that one#i got no idea who owain’s second parent should be. robin maybe? idk#i mean his second parent isnt quite as impactful in regards to trio dynamics in this case just because he’s always the prince but. idk#i really like the idea of half plegian owain but i ALWAYS run half plegian owain cuz im always pairing lissa with robin or henry so its like#this isnt new 😭😭😭 but god. PLEGIAN OWAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!#hm. though. hear me out. manakete owain???????????????? ehhh????#sorry. idk. i love how changing the parents of the second gen can change their characterization. its like my favorite thing ever#i think its why im so attached to all of them. theres always new things to explore with them!!! its so much fun!!!!!!#graaarfggjjjhhhhhhn!!!!

why are people saying Bruce was a teen when he started fostering Dick? he was in his early twenties
#also sometimes... i very much dislike the posts about the Bats being teen parents#as someone who was raised by parents who were 20 when they had me#if they had been any younger it would have been really bad#love my parents but they were not prepared lmfao#and i've known a lot of people who were raised by teen parents#some do great and have a good support system#others... do not.#and also it's just a little weird to want them to be a teen parent specifically#give it a couple years??#controversial take but it has to be said cause i was asked about it a few times#this is mostly unrelated to this post lmfao#but im hiding in the tags#and also i mean this in like. it's different if they get a random kid attached to them#but please recognize the dynamic is different#it wouldnt be a full parent child relationship#it would be like having a younger sibling but you take care of them and thus got parentified#I'm talking about having a BABY baby. as a teen#this post isn't about steph btw#i love her and i know she would have been a good loving mom but i also believe that it would have changed her greatly#giving up her childhood and never really growing into being a natural adult#steph i love you steph#sweet girl :((

Part 1 of Ace! April + Best friend Dynamics - Next? Some context: April isn't very confident about being around people in canon. She's weird and badass, and while we love that, she thinks she's got to 'be normal' to be liked, and make friends. It reminded me of the Ace Experience, and how that'd add another layer to the slow acceptance that is herself. Enter Donnie.

what do you think about the morality of incest
its 9am and i haven’t had coffee
idk man the history and context of incest, whether that be in monarchies or even long before that or even now, is interesting to me ?? i simply find the subject and situation fascinating to delve into ?? familial love becoming twisted and blurred to keep the bloodline clean or literally just because familial love got mixed up with romantic or sexual desire
things can be fucked up and icky and still be fascinating dynamics to explore i suppose is my take but im also a huge tudor era/monarchy fanatic and i think ive become somewhat immune to finding the concept that strange <- as in it does freak me out on a personal level, but on an academic level its just another thing to read and learn about and explore
#i think bottom line of my moral is that i cant read incest fic if the actors are actual siblings ahdjfjajdjf#because then it creeps me out#but yeah i love exploring possible incestuous dynamics in pureblood wizarding families#probably because of my tudor and monarchy obsession#im replying to this on the metro omw to work btw#asks

──────────────────────
benedict bridgerton x eldest daughter! reader
summary: Benedict Bridgerton has been the least tolerable Bridgerton since you arrival to the ton. You are a lady of respectable means, though nearly forgotten by society due to some extenuating circumstances. But no matter how hard you try, you can’t stay away from him.
cw: time period typical treatment of women in society. btw when i say eldest daughter i mean SHE IS THE FIRST BORN OF HER FAMILY SHE IS NOT RELATED TO HIM NO INCEST THAT IS NASTY !!!! also no smut
a/n: i’m writhing on the floor foaming at the mouth im dying dead. my girlies from the books know that Benedict is a Tier One Yearner (tm) and im utterly obsessed with the dynamic of elizabeth bennet and fitzgerald darcy so i bring you the bridgerton version
i wrote this before i watched season two so shhhhh i didn’t steal her backstory from Kate’s i had no idea they were gonna be so similar T-T
please excuse the crazy long playlist my brain is infected
songs i listened to while writing: Somethin’ Stupid by Nancy and Frank Sinatra, Bewitched by Laufey, Line Without A Hook by Ricky Montgomery (these fools are yearning CRAZY) Amore mio autami by Piero Piccioni, Valentine- Live at the Symphony by Laufey & The Iceland Symphony Orchestra, Someone to Say- Reprise from the Cyrano Motion Picture Soundtrack, Hopelessly Devoted to You by Olivia Newton-John, The Way I Loved You (Taylor’s Version) by Taylor Swift, A Lovely Night by Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, The Swan by Camille Saint-Saëns, Sebastian Comberti, and Miriam Keogh
──────────────────────
title taken from Bewitched by Laufey (GO LISTEN TO LAUFEY)
✧˖°.
In your short time at the ton, you have met every Bridgerton. Eloise in particular is your favorite- her determination to carve her own path despite the vice grip societal standards have on her is nothing less than refreshing and inspiring. Violet, their mother, is the most likeable of all the ones you have met. Anthony is respectable, Colin is nice, and the children behave well enough for their age. That just leaves one left.
Benedict Bridgerton is the least tolerable and easiest to dislike out of his siblings and family. His cavelier disregard for anything of true substance —besides the art he covets so dearly— grates on you. His smirk prickles your skin whenever he flashes it at you (which is, of course, much too often) and his general manner of being make you desire nothing more than to leave whatever party or ball you are at and never return.
And he, no matter how hard you try, does not seem to get the message.
"Ah," He bows slightly as you enter, "The lady doth grace us with her presence."
You give a tiny curtsey —enough to appease Portia Featherington, whom you have arrived with— and a thin smile, which drops the second she is out of earshot.
"Mr. Bridgerton," You greet, purely out of formality and however might be eavesdropping, gossip is especially rife in this town, "How... nice of you to leave the comforts of your canvas to charm us ladies at this party. I'm sure there is someone else here in attendance who would wish to speak to you more."
Indeed, there are several ladies eyeing the pair of you. To Benedict, with very obvious heart eyes, and to you, barely contained sneers.
If only you could assure them you are of no threat to their dear Benedict. Not a threat to any gentleman well and truly looking for a wife, to speak plainly.
"But who would entertain you? It must be difficult, being here, so far away from your friends and family in..." He trails off, leaning in to you expectantly.
"Cheltenham," You respond, smile paper-thin.
"Cheltenham," He nods. "I hear they have the most magnificent gardens. We do have some impressive ones here in London, but we are not quite known for them."
"Oh, yes. You must be quite familiar with these gardens by now. I must suppose this is our third time having this exact conversation."
There. Right there, his smirk almost falters. As usual, your sharp-tongue and quick-wit catches him off-guard. It is the easiest way to disarm a one Benedict Bridgerton long enough to make a quick escape.
Except this party is rather boring (even though you have just arrived) and well. With almost no chance of possible suitors approaching you and your usual preference of lingering on the fringes of parties and analyzing what happens in them, there is little better to do than subject Benedict to whatever mood you are in.
"You'll forgive me," he affirms, "It is hard to find topics of conversation when one's partner is adamant on not continuing past formalities."
The usual flame begins to spark in your chest. "Oh? Then let us continue, if that's what you desire. I had believed you would want to save your best conversation for the ladies who are much more... diverting."
"My, my," He tilts his head, smirk widening. "Do you consider yourself plain?"
"I consider myself un-agreeable," You remark, words rolling so easily off your tongue. Something about arguing with Benedict specifically always makes your words easier to find, easier to say. "I think you will find that most, if not all, of the gentlemen here agree. Even Lady Whistledown writes of my abilities to repel any and all suitors."
"So I have heard," Nearly in sync, you both pluck glasses of wine off a passing tray, "I do worry, my dear Lady. You sound almost proud of this feat."
"I am. I have worked tirelessly for the title."
He takes a sip of his wine. "I recall several suitors calling upon you back when you first arrived, at the start of this season."
"Ah yes, well," You take a sip of your own, "Nothing makes a woman think of marriage like being fought over like a shiny new toy."
Benedict chuckles, looking down at his glass and then back at you. "I see now why you and my sister get along so well."
"I believe that was evident from the moment we met. Not just anyone deserves the right of befriending Eloise Bridgerton."
"Ah! There we go," He raises his glass as if toasting. "Something we both can agree on."
The conversation lulls into silence, neither of you bothering to start it up again. You merely stand, an appropriate distance apart, and watch. Benedict, likely watching his brother, who has taken to the dance floor, and you, watching a young lady who bears a rather striking resemblance to your one of your sisters.
A stab of homesickness plunges deep into your chest, so sharp and so quick you almost suck in an audible gasp. You haven’t seen your sisters in quite some time. Each of them married and in love and happy- something you worked so, so hard to achieve.
Even if it meant you yourself are likely to become a spinster.
Benedict notices your momentary grief. He follows your eyeline, and when he speaks next, it is surprisingly soft.
“Do you miss your sisters?”
You sip your wine, at the same time using the glass to cover the slight shine of tears that has risen in your eyes and to take a moment to gather your words.
“Do you miss Daphne?”
“Of course I do,” His voice is firm, almost vehement. “But I gather that the bond between sisters is different than sisters and brothers.”
The wine begins to settle in your stomach, rich and heavy.
“It is,” You say, nearly a whisper, “My sisters and I were all very close. I miss them a great deal.”
You allow your words time to hang in the air before continuing. “But they are all married now, and they are happy. Most of them have children of their own. They’ve all gotten fine lives for themselves.”
Benedict makes a noise in the back of his throat that has you turning to stare at him.
“You are the eldest, yes?” He asks, something you can’t identify in his eyes.
“I am.”
“And you have not yet married,” He continues, “I would think that the eldest would get married first, and her sisters would follow her lead.”
You stare down at your gloves. This topic of conversation has come up several times over the course of your stay —Especially because you’re staying with the Featherington’s, being old family friends of your father, and Portia does love a good piece of gossip— and it never gets easier.
“My mother died before any of us entered society. I was raised by our governess, and my sisters were raised by me. Our father has… little interest in the affairs of match-making and courtship and everything it is young ladies get up to.”
Benedict is silent while you speak, eyeing you curiously.
“And my mother had always spoken of how she wished for her daughters to marry for love. And with her gone, well,” You swallow harshly over the lump in your throat, “Somebody had to ensure that came true. How could I prepare my sisters for society and guide them to their matches if I was busy and married?”
He doesn’t respond for several long moments. When he does, there’s an edge to his voice that wasn’t there before.
“I had not considered you so selfless.” He admits, eyes flicking over your face. “I must say, I am quite surprised. So many layers to the ton’s most infamous suitor-fighter.”
And just like that, all the air seems to return to the room, and whatever momentary tension was there leaves, and you remember that you are speaking to Benedict Bridgerton.
You give him another fake smile. “We can’t all be so one-dimensional, Benedict.”
—
You’re not sure how you have found yourself a seat at the Bridgerton dinner table.
Of course, you are not surprised at all to have found yourself at dinner with the Bridgerton’s. Eloise is always insisting you come to dinner— the dowager Bridgerton has heard of her pleas so often that they’ve almost come to save you a seat- you are there at least once a week.
The surprise falls in the matter of who is sitting next to you.
“Mr. Bridgerton,” You say, voice just loud enough for him to hear, “Your wine glass is a bit close to mine, don’t you think?”
The smile he sends you —that you can barely see from the corner of your eye— is sharp and full of teeth.
“Nonsense. I’ve found that a little proximity is good for things every now and then.”
“Every now and then,” You repeat, voice firm, “Somehow I find myself seeing you more and more.”
“Oh, surely there are worse fates.”
“Hardly.”
“Tell me- are you this sharp-tongued with all whom you meet?”
“Only the ones that deserve it.”
He raises his wine glass to his lips. “And what have I done to deserve such cruel wit?”
“Oh, don’t play ignorant to your intentionally aggravating behaviors.”
Benedict rests a hand over his chest in mock pain. “You wound me. Truly.”
The sip of wine you take is a little too large to be considered a sip. “Somehow, I find that hard to believe.”
“Tell me,” He tosses back a generous gulp of wine, “Were you born this stubborn and sarcastic or did it come naturally over time?”
“Hmm,” You pretend to think, “I suppose I’d consider myself that of a fine cheddar. Only tasting sharper with time.”
Benedict laughs, a private thing, clearly already tipsy. “That doesn’t even answer my question.”
“Why do you even want to know?”
“I want to know what your sisters endured during their childhoods. My word. I can only imagine why you haven’t had any suitors since arriving here.”
Fear races up your spine at his words, a sudden a rather unwelcome reminder of why your father sent you to London.
“Yes, well,” You answer, your mouth suddenly dry and your hands sweating in your gloves, “They should know there is no accounting for someone’s personality.”
He’s silent for a few moments. It makes you nervous his silence, so you turn your head, just a little, to see what expression he’s wearing.
Only when you turn, he’s already staring. Not even the half-head turn that you’ve done. He’s staring. Right at you.
His brows are furrowed, little creases on the skin in between them, and his eyes are bright and searching.
“Are you alright?”
You have been in London for two months, one week, and three days.
Benedict Bridgerton is the first person to ask if you’re okay.
“Fine,” You say, smoothing out your features with force, “Wine does not always agree with me.”
He doesn’t believe you. But he doesn’t pry, either.
“Shall you be giving the wine a thorough lecture, then?”
“Wine does not have ears. A lecture would be wasted on it,” You pause, “However, if we can track down the winemaker…”
Your words have their desired effect. He laughs, this time a little louder than something just for the two of you to share, garnering a couple glances from Anthony and Eloise, so you sip your wine and pretend you did not just make Benedict laugh. A real laugh, not the fake one he does when you’re arguing.
You suppose there are worse ways spend an evening.
—
It is an almost pleasant day in London. Almost being that the temperatures are fair, but the weather overcast.
You find garden parties the most interesting of all the parties to be had by the high society families because it means you get to escape to the gardens. Of course, there are others milling about in them, but they offer much more privacy than a ballroom and have the added bonus of reminding you of your home in Cheltenham.
“What is it liked to be overlooked by society?” Eloise asks, ever lacking decorum. It is, honestly, refreshing. She does not beat around the bush or sugar-coat her words.
You think on her words before responding, taking the time instead to eye some rather nice roses. “Honestly? It is not as terrible as you might think. Everybody always says that spinsterhood is a fate worse than death, but if it’s anything like this, I can’t think it to be that painful.”
She nods, thinking over your words. “But didn’t you want to marry? You must be lonely.”
You elbow her side as you walk, arms entwined. “How could I ever be lonely with such incorrigible friends?”
You both laugh, raucous and cackling and nothing close to lady-like.
“Is there a pack of hyenas roving about the gardens?”
You hear the rush of footsteps swishing across the grass, then feel the brush of fabric on your arm.
“Mr. Bridgerton,” You sigh, cutting him a glare, “What are you doing here?”
He loops his arm through yours, the same way that Eloise has done to you.
“Mr. Bridgerton.” You warn, tone sharp
“Oh relax,” His smirk is in high form, today, “I am protecting you ladies from those hyenas. We haven’t found them yet, have we? It’s the gentlemanly thing to do.”
“Eloise,” You pause, craning your neck about the garden, “Do you see a gentleman around here?”
Eloise snickers behind her glove. “I can’t say that I can see any.”
Benedict rolls his eyes. “Humor me, then.”
You continue walking. “I suppose we will. It’s good to engage in charity, dear Eloise. You must not think yourself above those less fortunate.”
He scoffs. “Since when do you consider yourself charitable?”
You flap your fan a few times. “I have a great many qualities. Do not fault me because you are so caught up in yourself to notice anything other than what you want.”
His fingers flex. “And what is it you think I want to see?”
You shrug plainly. “Me as I present myself. Unbecoming and, probably by the standards here, vile.”
“No.” He says, the word more of a sound, sort of ripped from his chest.
You look at him in alarm and he meets your gaze evenly. “You are a great many things- stubborn and irritating, but never vile.”
His words and the vehemence in which he said that stun you into silence. You’d never imagined Benedict, of all people, to take such an issue with that word. Vile. You’ve been called vile often over the course of your life, by mothers and suitors and other debutants and even on occasion your father. Its meaning has been mostly lost on you, the cruel nature in which it is said no longer barbed and painful. It is just a word, like every other word.
He’s staring at you, an almost pained expression on your face, so you figure you should say something.
“I see,” Eloise’s arm tightens on yours, “I suppose I should take your words to heart. I am glad to know that there is at least one gentleman who does not think me a vile woman.”
Benedict smiles, but there’s a flicker of something else in his eyes for a moment, something you don’t manage to place before it is gone.
“Ah! You called me a gentleman. Have I won you over?”
“For now, at least.”
—
You miss dancing.
Since you are the most un-agreeable lady in the Ton, you are seldom asked to dance, and since a partner is a requirement for the activity, you tend to spend most parties on the fringes, either talking with Eloise or merely observing.
Or arguing with Benedict. But you’ve found it a little harder to truly poke at him with any real malice or criticism since he defended your character so passionately that day in the gardens.
“You’re watching the dancers like they personally offended you.”
He always finds you at parties. Actually, he always finds you no matter where you are.
You gaze at him out of the corner of your eye. “I’m envious. Pay me no mind.”
He snorts. “Envious of the dancers? Whatever for?”
“I miss dancing. The only problem with scaring away all your suitors is that you also scare away all of your potential dance partners.”
You both observe them quietly for several moments, eyes tracking the flowing and sweeping movements.
“Do you,” he pauses, clears his throat when his voice cracks over the last syllable, “Like to dance?”
“Yes,” You admit, a tad embarrassed, “I always have. Most of society’s expectations for women are quite sedentary or still. But dancing is… its movement and passion. And sometimes, when your partner is agreeable and the music fair, it can almost feel like you’re not dancing at all. That there is no one else there, just the two of you.”
Your face heats, the realization that you’ve been talking so long about something you really do care about striking you. “Or so I’ve heard. I haven’t actually experienced that last bit.”
He inclines his head. “Where did you hear about it?”
“From my mother, as she regaled me on the day she met my father.”
You both stand, shoulder to not-shoulder, more like mid-upper arm, observing the spins and steps of the pairs of dancers.
“Would you dance with me?”
You snap your head to him. “Dance?”
“Yes,” He says, voice a little breathless. “I have yet to do my duty dance for the evening and it would be unfair to keep a lady from the dance floor.”
He extends a hand. “Especially if she longs for it.”
You stare down at his hand. “People will talk of you dancing with me. I would not want to bring reproach—“
“Dance with me,” He says again. “Please.”
Who are you to deny such an earnest request?
He marks a spot on your dance card- your first and only of the night.
As the next song comes a close, he leads you onto the the dance floor, and for the first time in awhile, you feel… conscious, of the eyes on you.
Everybody always watches for the who the Bridgerton’s dance with. Except now Anthony has Kate, and he is much less interesting than the second Bridgerton brother taking a partner to dance. Especially a partner with the reputation you have.
The song begins, and you glide your way through the steps.
“You didn’t have to dance with me. I’m sure we’ll—“ you pause, spinning, “—appear in Lady Whistledown’s review in the morning.”
He grasps your hand tightly. “Let them talk. I have never been the brother anyone is well and truly worried about.”
You begin to feel more and more alive and the song plays on. Movement— real, fluid, passionate movement thrums in your veins, the music jumping through the air.
But all good things must come to end.
Eventually, the music comes to a close, and you must curtsy, and allow Benedict to leave the dancefloor.
“You dance well,” He praises, eyes alight, “I see why you miss dancing. You glide like a swan.”
The smile that tugs at your lips is entirely involuntary. “You are too kind. I do not dance that well. I just have a passion for it.”
He raises a brow. “Oh come now, accept the compliment.”
You shake your head, chuckling a breathy laugh. “Then I must pay you one in return. Not once did you step on my toes or lose your way. Color me impressed.”
His face lights up, joy evident. “And the night grows better! A compliment from our dear spinster.”
“I have always proclaimed myself a fair judge, have I not?”
Benedict’s expression is alight with amusement. “You have. But that doesn’t mean I’ve been all that inclined to believe you.”
You can’t help but roll your eyes. “Well, there’s no accounting for opinions, even if they are wrong.”
“I thought opinions above being right or wrong.”
“Only sometimes.”
Benedict looks all together too pleased with himself as he gazes at you, lips quirked up and cheeks still a little flushed from the dance.
He extends a hand.
“Care for another dance?”
You smile down at your gloves. “I couldn’t possibly. Dancing with me once could be forgiven, but twice? What would your mother think?”
“My mother happens to like you a great deal,” He says smoothly, “And I think I might enjoy dancing with somebody who actually dances.”
How could you refuse?
You place your hand in his.
“I’d be delighted.”
—
As has become a particular habit of yours recently, you’re lying away, staring at your ceiling and pondering Benedict’s actions.
Why did he ask you to dance? Why did he allow you the joy of two dances?
Why did he care?
Why can’t you stop thinking about it?
In your heart, and probably your mind, you know why. The warmth of his hands through the gloves and the dappling of the candlelight on his flushed cheeks is stuck fast in your mind for the exact same reason you’ve hated him since the moment you met:
You love him.
You didn’t love him when you met, but you know yourself. You know he is the type of man that you would love- the type that would break your heart because he is charming and kind, and he will never choose you. And why should he? You’re sharp and sarcastic and nowhere near the shining qualities and perfection of this season’s diamond- any of the season’s diamonds, really. You’re a spinster in the making with an attitude and standards.
It is a most unfortunate combination. For your upbringing to have made you so hard to love and have also instilled such a deep want for love and romance in your heart. You know you were not made for it, not for the kind your father sent you to London to get.
He wants you married to whoever will take you- only problem is, now no one will. Especially not Benedict.
But… could he?
You turn over in bed, smushing your face into the pillow.
No, you tell yourself, Don’t go down that road. Don’t even think about it.
You barely sleep a wink, that night.
—
The morning brings the post, and the post brings a letter from your father.
Not even Portia Featherington’s threats of grounding stop you from racing into a carriage to Bridgerton house.
You enter through the back entrance and upon seeing your disheveled appearance and tear stricken face, a servant rushes inside to fetch Eloise immediately.
The girl herself looks harried and concerned as she meets you in the back garden, a million questions etched in her face and streaming out of her mouth.
“My father,” You half-sob, “Has found me a husband. Baron Dunsmoor. He is— he’s horrible. He has had two previous wives, and then all died in childbirth. He is disgusting and revolting and treats women like, like cows.”
Eloise’s expression crumples. “What is, what can be done?”
You shake your head, pressing the back of your hand to your mouth. “It is too late. He’s ordered me to come home at once so the proposal can be made official.”
The younger Bridgerton girl grasps your shoulders. “What if you were to get a proposal? Here? Now?”
“Eloise!” You say, “Who are we going to find to marry me before tomorrow?”
Her eyes shine when she answers. “My brother. Benedict.”
The cruel, twisting stab to your gut that hearing his name, now, here, gives you is nothing short of agonizing.
If you were not crying before, you certainly are now.
“How could you say that?” You ask, breath hard and stuck in your throat, “He would— He will never marry me. That is, it’s cruel to even suggest that.”
“No, no I promise, he loves you, I am sure of it—“
“Eloise, please do not—“
“He has painted you, drawn you, I swear he must have illustrated your likeness more than—“
“Eloise!” You snap, patience thin and tears thick, “That is enough. Benedict will not marry me. I cannot—“
“Marry me.”
You snap your head up at the sound of a familar, rich voice, eyes meeting Benedict’s as he marches over to you eyebrows drawn tight and lips set.
He looks… distraught. Utterly wrecked.
“Mr. Bridgerton,” You gasp, “You—“
“Benedict. Please. You never call me Benedict.”
His words come out like a dying man’s wish, despite you being the one stuck in a hopeless situation.
“Benedict,” You start, “I cannot marry you.”
“Why not?” He snaps, words and expression immediately becoming sharp and confused, “You would rather live a life with that wretched man?”
“Of course not,” You retort, “But it’s not that simple—“
“Yes it is!” He cries, throwing his hands up and taking another step towards you, “Tell me, honestly, if you wrote to your father and told him I had proposed and you had accepted, would he not choose my proposal over the baron’s?”
“Yes, but—“
“But what?”
“But I cannot accept!” You shout, aware of Eloise standing only a few feet away and servants no dough crowding to watch from the door, “I can endure a loveless marriage to a loveless man. I could not endure a loveless marriage to a man that I love.”
Benedict sucks in a gasp, and you refuse to meet his gaze. How can you, after saying that?
Birds chirp overhead. There is the distance noise of carriages moving about in London. Somewhere distant, a dog barks.
“Do you truly think our marriage would be loveless?” He says, voice scraped raw and quiet, “How could you not know the depth of my affection for you?”
You look up, taking a half step forwards, searching his face for any hint of a lie, for deception.
You find open, painful, vulnerable honesty.
“What reason would I have to believe that I had a chance?” You ask, voice hushed, “All we do is argue. I have been cast out by society and you are a Bridgerton.”
He reaches forwards, grasps your hands in his. Your breath hitches.
Neither of you are wearing gloves.
“I am so in love with you it makes my chest hurt and my bones ache. Eloise was right. I have drawn you hundreds of times because there is just so much inside of me and it has nowhere to go,”
His lips quirk up a little, almost sad, “I loved it when we argued, because it meant you looked at me. It meant I held your attention. And you are remarkably smart and so, so much more wonderful than you give yourself credit for. I would sooner burn everything I’ve ever drawn than let you marry that man, than let you believe that you can never marry for love.”
He squeezes your hands once.
“Please, marry me.”
Your eyes are burning with a fresh wave of tears, but there’s something warm and alive unfurling and beating in your chest, something that glows with every word he says.
You laugh a strange noise, somewhere between a chuckle and a sob.
“Yes,” You gasp, your smile practically splitting your face in two, “Yes. I will marry you.”
Benedict’s smiling too, the both of you looking like fools, smiling and laughing in his garden.
Eventually, he turns to Eloise. “You’d better go tell mother she has another wedding to plan.”
Eloise scoffs. “Oh, please. She’s been working on this one for ages. I’m absolutely positive everybody knew this was only a matter of time except the two of you.”
He looks baffled, and you note in the back of your mind that he’s still holding your hands, “What? I wasn’t that obvious.”
“You danced with her. Twice. In a row.”
“So?”
Eloise rolls her eyes. “You don’t dance with anybody, especially more than once. You’ve been making love eyes at each other over verbal spars for ages. It’s been disgusting to watch.”
You snort. “Then look away.”
“Absolutely not. You insult my brother too well.”
You laugh again, then look back to Benedict.
“My father, and the Baron—“
“I will write to him today,” he soothes, “And have the letter sent with the fastest post carrier. You’re my wife now. I’m not going to let anyone else have you.”
Your cheeks heat. “I’m not your wife yet.”
He shrugs. “Only a matter of time, my love.”
Eloise retches in the background, and Portia will be an absolute nightmare to deal with when you get back, and part of you still wonders if Benedict is serious, but none of that seems to matter.
Not with how he’s looking at you now. Not with your hands in his.
You’re really looking forward to that first kiss.

Helloo! Can i have kim dokja x reader where its like reader and yjh at first hate each other but over time they start getting close (slight yjh x reader if you want) and dokja starts seeing them being close and gets jealous (i love dokja being jelly)
(sorry its a bit hard to read😓 have a great day and stay hydrated !)
Yall love jealous kim dokja goddamn
Jealous Kim Dokja x reader
Platonic Yoo Joonghyuk x reader (like a sibling dynamic)
heres some father son time with kdj and gilyoung (wingman!!)
Im sorry btw if you think it's short, i struggle with writing long stories 😭😭😭
When Dokja first told you about the novel he was reading, you felt bad for the main character. But jeez...meeting him in real life? Man you just wanted to curse him out!
During one of the scenarios, you had all split up, pulling sticks to see who'd get paired with who, and you just happened to be paired with Joonghyuk. As you both walk around, an elderly lady walked up and offered some food. After evaluating it, you decided it was safe.
"We don't n-" Before he could finish, you kicked the back of his knee and made him kneel, pushing his head down.
"Thank you granny!" You smiled at the lady, "I'm also so sorry for his actions, you see, he escaped from a mental institute-"
Before you could finish your lie, he covered your mouth, the grandma laughing and walking away, talking about her youthful days.
"Seriously? Mental institute? Please, as if." He scoffed.
"Yeah you probably escaped." You laughed, before running off as he chased you with his sword.
Running around, you found your beloved dokja, and leapt into his arms like a princess.
"Dokja! Your companion is trying to kill me!" You laughed at the fuming Joonghyuk, pointing at him.
A string of jealousy tugged at Dokja's heart, his mind wandering off to what a cute one on one time you two would have had...
-
After settling down, you, dokja, joonghyuk, and gilyoung decided to walk together.
As you all turned a corner, a grotesque monster popped up out of nowhere.
With your heightened blood pressure, you kicked joonghyuk forward, shouting, "Take him!"
Of course someone like him faced no difficulty cutting down the monster, but it did end up with you two bickering and fighting. Man...you two had to be long lost twins at this point...
-
Although dokja didn't notice it, gilyoung definitely did.
"Are you jealous?" He asked dokja.
"Wha..what? No!" Dokja waved his hands in the air.
"Yes you are...You frown everytime you look at that bastard," He nods in approval, "It's okay ajussi, me too, me too. He's wasting [name]'s precious time!"
So, the cooked up a plan.
A trap was set up, in which they titled it, 'Bastard Trap.'
Both you and joonghyuk were too engrossed in fighting each other and bickering that you both didn't realize the trap. As the two of you walked behind, you blinked, and joonghyuk was gone??
On the other hand, joonghyuk blinked and he was suddenly flung into the air, far away.
You shrugged it off, this basically meant you win...the gods were really looking out for you...! You wept a silent tear.
Gilyoung too initative, grabbing your hand and dokja's smiling and dragging you about.
"This is nice, right?" He spoke, grinning ear to ear.
You laughed, "Sure is!"
Mission accomplished!
Dokja smiled at your reaction, you really were the perfect woman. His jealousy was gone now (in which said jealousy found himself in an alleyway)
He would do this again in a heartbeat.

appreciation for the greenlake besties (Jessica and Horropedia)
For context im mostly referring to their dynamic from Jessica's vn mini-game in 1.2, which btw I hope they bring back because it was just SO good it was the highlight of the event for me ugh I miss it so much. If you didnt get to play it I pity you because it really explored the dynamics of the greenlake cast with Jessica and ugh I just loved it so much I hope they do more of it in the future.
Anyways enough nostalgia, Jessica and Horror are one of the best besties of r1999 for me simply because their dynamic is just so fun and it was very clearly shown in Horror's route. He would just yap about the most wacky ideas and Jessica would barely listen but still follow along. They also got a blunt sibling energy where she would just annoy him until he conceded. It's probably easier to just show it:

(these are the only screenshots I have 😭😭)
Probably a lot more I'm forgetting about their dynamic since it's been so long since 1.2 and I haven't found any gameplay to reference from so if anyone has it archived pls tell me!

stepping in 2 say my piece from a queer perspective of this btw because im an itty bit unnormal BUT
i think trying 2 apply standard nuclear family dynamics/roles etc onto demon slayer characters (specifically the hashira) is counterproductive 2 the characters and story as a whole!! like Yes you have Some hashira who r more parental in behavior HOWEVER i think 2 view them as a parent figure rather than a guardian figure reduces a lot of them down to nuclear family traits! like it or not kny has queer elements to it even if it probably wasnt intended (emphasis on found family, a very queer trope, as well as the fact that the corps is legit a bunch of people w similar hardships and struggles coming together to defeat a mutual threat, which is also symbolic of the queer community)
anywaysanyways . there’s a difference between “guardian” and “parent”. guardian 2 me is essentially… taking on the protective role of a parent, yes, but u dont have, like… whatsit. i dont want to say “care” because guardian is also a very caring role that also involves looking after someone but it’s just Different in nature, if that makes any sense? so i think to place ESPECIALLY characters like shinobu, who’s as some have already pointed out, “maternal” nature is just her unhealthy coping mechanism and a projection of kanae, it washes out her character so so so much!!!!
if u WANT to place some kind of labels for family dynamics onto kny characters “guardian” works just fine because that is what they Are. “sibling” also works just fine too methinks.
idk if this is just a whole lot of Nothing but! kny mischaracterization gets on my nerves blegh
-loti
FINALLY SOMEONE MENTIONS THE NUCLEAR FAMILY STUFF ‼️‼️‼️🗣️ OH MY GOD YES
i completely agree anon loti… wiping a tear from my eyes… guardian…
i see people do this a lot where they take a found family and try to assign them roles like parents/siblings/etc— and it is okay to give them these bonds on their own, but to say like— “shinobu is the mom of the hashira” or “tengen is the cool uncle of the hashira” is pretty redundant and it ultimately goes back to stereotyping ): sometimes a found family is just a group of people. they dont need labels. they love each other and thats all that matters
i know i usually refer to gyomei as the dad of the hashira but i love guardian a lot more. im absolutely gonna use that from now on. its so much more fitting for his character
#askbites#not artbites#demon slayer#kny#i used to pray for times like this#the nuclear family stuff in fandoms has always driven me mad

Im in love with trigger happy duo (Dust & Dream with a sibling dynamic), so can you draw them? Maybe just sharing a coffee or side to side while talking lol /nf
Oh no I also love these two.... Though in my head they were usually a queerplatonic relationship?? (I also ship uh, Dream x Cross x Dust but that's indulgent and in my head)
You said coffee but I accidentally drew green tea. Idk why but Dream felt like those herb tea enthusiasts. I'm sorry if Dust looks too happy.

Dream by Joku, Dust by Ask-Dusttale
Short story: So I do not really understand tone tags (kinda boomer of me smh). One time someone said /pos to me and I was confused, so I decided to google what 'pos' means and Google said 'Point of Sale' and I thought: "Why the hell are we bringing marketing terminologies into this conversation??" Only to realize that /pos means positive. So what does /nf mean btw

Thoughts on Odydio 👀
Omg this one has a history. Prepare for my rambling about them. Btw this is just my experience, which can be very different from you.
Well I used to like it and actually shipped it, now Im just indifferent.
In this Greek Mythology comic, aka my first introduction to Greek mythology, the Trojan war was written in a horribly abridged way that only important events were presented, which means characters’ interactions reducing to almost 0, leaving only scenes between Agamemnon-Achilles’ quarrel, Achilles-Patroclus, Odysseus- Ajax and Odysseus-Diomedes stealing the Paladium.
And for the Odydio scene, it was written like a couple of besties scheming together and they had a back and forth dynamic that I really love. They bounced off each other well in both actions and dialogues, although in that very short scene. For me that scene sounds like an actual effort to write interaction rather than simply listing them like the book often does. So I started low key shipping them from there.
This dynamic also happens in the fanfics for them, which I really like. After a few rounds of reading, I did like them more than Henelaus.
Things changed when I read the original text.
Sure they still work well with each other, but that’s it. They’re just, very efficient co-workers. The bounce is still there, but rather quite one sided. It’s always Diomedes called upon Odysseus but never the other. Their interactions are just Diomedes said something and Odysseus “whatever let’s get this over with”. The scale tipped, and it lost the appeal.
Iliad also has that “Lord of the rings effects” that when male characters openly express their emotions, their platonic relationships become way more interesting. Shipping is just secondary.
Also, the story’s canon war torn settings and family dynamics interest me way more. Like doom family, doom siblings, doom spouses, doom fathers and sons. Bich give me that!

On the topic of sibling dynamics. Like with Leo and Mikey, I noticed Donnie gets away with doing things that annoy Raph, vs. say if Mikey and Leo did those things, he would argue with them. But Donnie, he doesn’t argue. Like how Leo is much nicer to Mikey, and Mikey is nicer to Leo, while he purposely antagonizes Raph and Don, especially Raph. I used to believe he didn’t like Raph with how much he antagonized him, but I see why he does it, but I still feel bad for Raph, lol. I empathize with him being a middle child myself. My youngest brother got away with everything. If I dared lash out at him, I was the one to blame. So Raph is in a tough spot, especially during season 4. Mikey taking Leo’s side like that while being dismissive of Raph and Don’s feelings had to hurt, and Leo got help for his anger, while Raph got a lecture. At that point, Don was the only one Raph had in his corner since he was getting the same treatment. Remember when Mikey set the battle shell onto the lair? Who did Splinter blame? Don, even though it was Mikey’s fault. I am not bashing, btw. I am just saying Mikey gets away with a lot because he’s the youngest. Sorry for this long essay of an ask lol.
Haha my friend lots of loaded statements in here to unpack!
i think for me personally, ultimately i choose to engage with 2k3 in the manner that their biggest enemies are the Shredder/their own character flaws, and their familial relationships are their emotional rock and not a source of pain (which is very different from how i engage with some of my other fandoms).
eg placing more weight on the show portraying that Leo floated into caretaking/leadership as a turtle simply because he loves his family and that is how he expresses his love, that he clearly trusts and loves each brother and his father throughout the show and thinking of them gives him comfort...instead of reading a pattern of unfair blame and over-responsibility, from that one single time Splinter blamed him for not stopping his brothers from coming to the Battle Nexus.
i strongly suspect that one can read any manner of conflict and pain into any of the brothers in any incarnation, depending on their own history.
After all - no familial relationship is perfect, and those imperfections can be read as proof of deeper pain and conflict.
i've seen ppl say 2k3 Don is neglected and overworked and lonely, or that 2k3 Mikey is overlooked and dismissed and lonely, too. Combined with the ones for Raph and Leo - we could alr say that the entire 2k3 family is full of lonely neglected ostracised brothers..but ultimately that's not the direction i prefer to take for 2k3.
(im an eldest child but consider myself estranged from my sibling)
i don't read malice or resentment in Mikey's relationship with Raph and Don from that interaction. Raph softened toward S4 Leo after Mikey's speech in later episodes - he thought about what Mikey said, and agreed. iirc it was Don in earlyS4 who still remained fairly detached from Leo.
also 'Splinter neglected Raphael's struggles with anger and dismissed his feelings' is a stance im not prepared to take.
I don't think Raphael getting too rough one time with an equally-skilled brother (and there is no trust or respect lost there afterwards with them making up) is the same as literally drawing a live blade (the very same blade you used for killing and the blood feud with the Shredder) AND landing a hit on your own parent - especially in a Japanese family, and for someone of Leo's skill and general control.
There was just no bigger taboo for Leo commit, either as a son or as a martial artist.
Leo was simply out of control, gone much farther away from his natural emotional baseline, and dangerous in a way Raphael never even got close to.
Raphael expresses himself directly and honestly pretty consistently, and he's the one who cries the most - he deals with his emotions far better than Leo was managing to in earlyS4.
People keep saying 2k3 Raphael is angry all the time and so violent/dangerous etc but i just don't agree. He's a lot more level-headed, thoughtful and selfaware than some fans claim.
"Mikey gets away with a lot" -> i think there can be smth to be said for this (esp with that FF episode in which basically Mikey gets a makeup test for chuunin despite apparently 'skipping a whole month of strength training sessions' right before the exam)...but ultimately, with how Mikey is consistently shown to be pulling his weight in fights and how his brothers still trust him with their lives?
im reading that episode as a one-time thing and a product of FF's lighter less-gritty-realistic tone: that the whole family is coming together to give an ultimately-deserving Mikey a lil helping nudge - rather than actually taking it seriously as toxic favoritism 😂
That it is meant as a cute quirk of the family like 'oh everyone is a lil bit softer on the heart of the team' than 'youngest sib gets away unfairly with things just coz they're the youngest', LOL.
(Imagine Leo or Raph or Don skipping a whole month of strength training? Portrayed in the more serious tone of S1-5? Leo would (rightfully) be stripped of leadership. Raph and Don would've been grounded at the very least for their own safety. But i don't think favoritism is the point FF is trying to make, and im choosing to not read it that way haha)
That said - i empathise how hard it can be to see bad-faith takes in the fandom (or even just takes we don't agree with), especially when it hits on painful personal history. i've just stopped engaging with those takes i dun even think abt them at all lmao life is too short for that 😂
Thanks for the ask!

tell me the mizzen thoughts i beg
YES HI I LOVE TALKING ABT HIM
okay so to preface mizzen is my fave character in the series if i am thinking abt the hunger games im probably thinking about mizzen and / or district 4 ( d4 tributes get behind me )
anyways recently ive been mostly thinking abt his family dynamic and how it intertwines with his relationships in the book. i feel like he lives in a pretty matriarchal household , purely self - indulgent but his mom is a single mother in my eyes. i also think he has an older sister whom he really looks up to / tries to emulate , leading to his close relationship with coral and pippa , two strong women who entered his life when he was incredibly vulnerable and needed support. also just him in d4 in general. who were his friends?? did he have to work?? we know he's good w a net and has basic trident skills so maybe he had to do stuff w that. did he do well in school?? what was his dynamic w his siblings?? what was his favourite subject??
wait i just realised i turned him into prim whoops 😭 coral and mizzen as katniss and prim parallels or smt even tho they are barely similar
( editing to say: i personally headcanon mags to be mizzen's older sister for no reason other than sad bcus there is NO canon evidence to support that )
for a tribute so young he lasted an incredibly long time in both the book and the movie , surviving a couple pretty close encounters ( moreso in the book but in the movie too , ) only being stopped by extraneous factors ( teslee's drones and gaul's snakes. ) id love to see how far he'd last were it to have been " fair " ( though i argue that technically teslee didn't do anything to crazy all she did was manipulate the capitol's faulty tech which , though im sure the capitol didn't like it , is really their fault that it was able to be manipulated so easily. ) im also interested in how she managed to do that but that's another topic.
i don't usually think abt the mentors a ton ( besides festus and the usual sejanus and coriolanus ) but ive been thinking abt pippa a lot recently. idk just their relationship in general , ik it's not that realistic to think they formed a pseudo - sibling bond in the time they spent together but let me dream 😭 she obviously cared about him more than coriolanus' unreliable pov would let us see cus he was too busy claiming lucy gray and being mad at sejanus for existing. you're the pippa expert im sure you have better thoughts on their relationship ( which i NEED to know btw i love reading your writing. )
unrelated but his actor was perfect he looked so little ( obviously because he was young filming it ) it made me even sadder having to put a face to the character
okay final one i think but i canNOT stop thinking abt coral and mizzen. did they know each other before the games?? were they just super close immediately because they were thrown in the situation together?? are they family friends?? they obviously had this incredibly close connection that honestly i don't think we saw between any other two tributes in these games. they seemed to be able to speak to each other without words and she trusted him with things im sure she wouldn't trust tanner or treech with ( taking her trident to find lucy gray for example. ) ugh she just protected him and was softer with him and he was rlly one of a few people to see past her angry protective exterior i wish we could've seen them outside of this because i love them sm.
no i don't like mizzen wdym 🤧
delilah be normal challenge ( impossible )
#these are all incredibly surface level and basic analysis#but thank you for letting me ramble lol#none of it makes sense but shh#mizzen#mizzen tbosas#tbosas#the ballad of songbirds and snakes#tbosas spoilers#asks !!

Akashi Family Headcanons
okay so this is all headcanons about their family and their dynamic and how they met and everything because i want to
trigger warning: death, suicide, emotional/physical abuse
so first is their family tree

(im sorry idk anything about Japanese names so i used a random generator and looked at what i liked best)
So there's Seijuro right. The focus person (my baby i love him mine)
Father's Side
Masaomi's dad was Satoshi, and his mom was Chizuru. Now Chizuru belongs to a different well off family who MADE SURE that at least one of her children marry an Akashi and there we go there's their marraige. It was arranged. She's an awful woman- emotionally and physically abusive to Masaomi, a bitch to all the staff, feeling entitled. A Karen. No one likes her.
Satoshi didn't want to deal with that and had business to do. He was away working abroad most of the time which led to Chizuru raising Masaomi (horribly, might I add).
Now they actually had difficulty making a kid. Chizuru was 48 when Masaomi was born, and they had a lot of trouble making sure that both she and Masaomi was healthy.
Chizuru and Satoshi never really cared for each other at all, their primary goal was to make a male heir. Which was Masaomi. After that, Chizuru went whoring wherever she wanted to because "I'm married to an Akashi I can do anything" and ended up getting pregnant at 51 years old because "eh im old nothings gonna happen anyways"
Airi was born and she was a rebel, didn't want to do anything, has run away from the house multiple times and she's just a problem child. Especially since she lacked attention cuz their focus was training and raising their male heir. So she jumped off of the roof of Akashi Manor at 16 years old.
Airi and Masaomi never really got along either, Masaomi was kinda quiet and just did whatever his parents told him to and stuff. I mean sure they were siblings but they were so far opposites.
Satoshi was assassinated a while ago by the Spanish Mafia. All Chizuru had to say to that was "good riddance". Masaomi didn't have any feeling or reaction in particular, just surprise.
She's currently in the ICU btw. Seijuro knows that he has grandparents on his father's side ONLY BECAUSE he did some digging. Masaomi never mentioned his family, and neither did Shiori. He has absolutely (pun always intended) no contact with his father's side.
Mother's Side
Shiori, being the oldest of three, had the expectation that she is responsible for her siblings. Her parents weren't horrible people, but they were both working most of the time to support their children, especially since they want them to get the best education yet. Which is how Shiori ended up going to the same middle school as Masaomi, even though the school was prestigious. But in home she had a lot of work to do, not just homework but chores and taking care of Fujio and Yumiko. Their parents were taking care of them when they get a chance, but often it was Shiori that attended sports and after school activities instead of their parents.
Yumiko is their problem child, and since shes the youngest, often gets away with it when parents step in. Always blames everything on her older siblings and trying to get attention as much as possible. And ofc, Shiori and Fujio is always blamed because "youre responsible for your younger sister why did you let her do that? You should know better" or some shit. always gets what she wants, and especially since the parents dont really have time for their kids their attention always goes to Yumiko because cute, youngest, trying to get attention, meanwhile Fujio and Shiori are decently mature enough to not need that.
Fujio is the middle child, so he gets the classic middle child syndrome. Between Shiori being oldest and responsible and Yumiko being youngest and small and attention seeker, he isn't really seen by parents. He more of just does his own thing in private, keep to himself. But he likes doing sports, though undecided for a while which one he was going to focus on. Eventually he chose basketball. Shiori was always there for his games, and even helping him train (she likes doing her research).
Their parents, Mina and Shunichi, theyre in a loving marriage. Its really just that their priority is getting their kids to the best school there is, so they barely have time for them nor each other. They had Shiori when they were 18. 1.5 years after that they had Fujio, and then by (happy) accident Yumiko after 4 years.
Seijuro had contact with them once, and only once. During Shiori's funeral, it was Fujio and Yumiko that were taking care of little Seijuro, making sure he's safe and helping him deal with the fact that his mom is gone. But after that, no contact. Seijuro could probably give them a call, but he doesn't know them that well. Also, Masaomi is afraid of Mina (Shiori's mom).
Masaomi x Shiori
Masaomi was a timid introvert that didn't really talk unless spoken to/needed, so he kept to himself during school and events. Of course always top of his class, he knew and it was drilled into his brain that he was only there to be the heir for the company. So like a robot he did what he was told without complain or argument, even though he had personal feelings about things. He learned early on, especially from emotional and physical abuse from Chizuru, that his opinions and words didn't really matter. So he kept himself quiet. Because of that, no one really talked to him at school or even tried to make friends, also because they knew that Chizuru was a bitch and if anything happened and Masaomi gets influenced she can probably shut down the entire school. This was both elementary and middle school.
Shiori was extroverted, loved making friends and she spoke her truth always. She loved talking, doesn't matter who it is. One day, the last week of elementary school, the two were paired up to be partners for a little class activity. It was the first time the two had met, and still Shiori went on and on, asking him questions and replying with her own stories. It was the first time Masaomi felt heard, that his preferences mattered to someone. And he was very intrigued about this chatterbox girl.
Shiori and Masaomi became lowkey friends when they reached middle school, and people just accepted it. Masaomi liked listening to her talk, and Shiori liked talking and watching him listen.
One day, Shunichi, Shiori's dad, suddenly got fired from his work. Mina's salary was not enough to support them at all, and Shiori was sad because she might have to move to a different school. Tuition was expensive at a prestigious school like that. Shiori confided in Masaomi.
Masaomi, being stupid and also fearing that Shiori would be gone in his life, started paying for her tuition in advance. You have no idea the disbelief that her parents had when they went to pay and saw that there was zero balance. Well, they thought, since its already paid why not just wait for another year. They can afford at least Fujio's and Yumiko's tuition after all.
Eventually Shunichi got accepted at another job, and they could afford school again. Masaomi stopped paying for her tuition. Chizuru found out at one point and Masaomi got his ass beat and had to do extra work for he doesn't even know how long, but it was worth it. For Shiori.
They fell in love and stayed in touch until highschool. Chizuru did not approve of her when he introduced Shiori, saying that her kind (as in she was poor) doesn't belong and will ultimately cause the company to fail. But Masaomi for once knew what he wanted. he tried and tried and tried again and again, until Chizuru gave up. It was also around the time that Satoshi died, and with her newfound freedom she was just "ok fine whatever you want ig" especailly since the riches are hers now. So Masaomi and Shiori got married at 20 years old, and had our lovely little Seijuro at 22 years old.
lmk if you want me to make more headcanons or even to make a oneshot, or literally anything. Im curious on what yall's opinion is

Since jimmy boy is one of your favs (atleast im pretty sure he is) do you have any underrated pairings/duos with him that you really like? This doesnt have to be characters btw it can be whatever. My fav underrated pairing is jimmy and sneegsnag. I cant put into words why i like it so much they're just so silly and goofy i love it. Alternatively i also really like seeing jimmy and fwhip bickering its hilarious
Not really? Nothing underrated at least, i don't think. I like ranchers and I like his sibling dynamics with Lizzie, Grian, and Pearl. I like his friendship with Martyn cause Martyn seems to be the only one able to tease him and make it... tasteful isn't the right word but we'll go with it. Not-too-much about the jokes.
Him and Joel have a very bros type relationship that reminds me of my brother and his best friends when they're playing cs:go tbh. Scar and him also have a nice friendship, it's quite similar to Grian's dynamic with him but not quite as charmed, more so thinks he's cool. He... I know it seems almost too perfect to be true but he really does treat Scar like his older sibling's friend who's also his friend by extention in that weirdish sorta way siblings bffs are family friends, y'know? That's my take on it. Jimmy is very good at making himself everyone's little brother.
His weird relationship with Etho is also funny. It feels very much like Grian and/or Joel gave him a primer on Jimmy and his bullyableness before introducing him and he very easily fell into the role of teasing him. He just likes to sneak up on him and pull a prank or scare him and leave before they can have any deeper interaction.
Impulse kinda feels the opposite. He feels like he was taught to bully Jimmy by Grian but isn't very good at it. I imagine Jimmy activates the helpful dad in him, literally making games where Grian and Joel have to say nice things about Jimmy and giving him reedstone tutorials and going easy on him when the rest of the southlanders are teasing him. (And then inadvertently dealing the biggest blows when he doesn't mean to) I imagine if he teamed up with Gem, Pearl, and Grian the collective power of their sad puppydog eyes could get Impulse to do literally anything.
Him and Skizz are quite cute, fellow failures going easy on each other and supporting each other, in the few interactions they've had. (Which unsurprisingly leaves his approval at 3/3 for the Roaving Pack Of Dads Squad)
Thats really all the ones I can think of right now tbh.

I always imagine how Reza and naim sees their little brothers actually hehe.
With the Abu yamin brothers:
Kahar:I'm not your little bechik anymore. Look at me,I'm 17 years old. Seventeen.
Reza*how he sees kahar*: That's practically an adult. But you still treat me like I'm a little kid.
With the ismet brothers
Fakhri:I'm not your little fakhri anymore. Look at me,I'm 15 years old. Fifteen
Naim*how he sees fakhri*: that's practically an adult. But you still treat me like I'm a little kid.
Here's the original audio that inspired this:https://youtube.com/shorts/XYiz7q6iaC4?si=lQRaRm9o89WC0V5q
In a draft in my gdocs, i actually wrote about their dynamics that I intended to use as author's notes for a future fic. But I'll reply this anyway.
Kahar: Sejuk ahh malam ni
Beja *immediately takes off his jacket and puts it on Kahar*: Nah, Bechik. Amik ni nanti demam.
Fakhri, looking at Naim: Malam ni sejuk ahh.
Naim: Nasib kau ahh sape suruh kulit tu senipis iman kau
I know technically towards the end of PHC, Naim was kinda still soft to Fakhri like how he invited their papa and Fakhri tu come have dinner together, dengan tangan dia in a cast calling out, “Fakhri?”.
But i kind of headcanon that Naim and Fakhri’s brother relationship are more love-hate like typical bickering siblings sebab in the flashback banyak kali Naim macam tegur Fakhri, picit pipi Fakhri and even harshly admonish Fakhri. Their siblingship is kinda naturally love-hate in which they dont hesitate to ejek or pukul e/o.
Beja and Kahar strike me as a more awkwardly soft-like relationship, like beja spoils kahar and sometimes shield Kahar too much while Kahar follows Beja around like a soft puppy, tapi towards the end of KKHC, Kahar’s growth shows and he finally has enough courage to tell Beja what to do, like “Nanti call laa Megat tu, tak elok gaduh” (im paraphrasing btw)...
