sorry for being a nerd in your inbox but if you want an answer for why batman is fighting an evil tech mogul: it's cause riddler for the past ten years hasn't just been a batman villain - he's a bruce wayne villain. iirc tom king explicitly says it but riddler rn is meant to be a foil to bruce wayne, not to batman. that's why he was the evil tech mogul shadow-ceo of wayne enterprises and is trying to be ceo of we again, it's why he is part of the court of owls and it's why he had that 'jacked playboy' thing going on in twojar and prelude. there is a theory i have why he looks and acts like that now, red hair side burns bruce wayne foil and all, and it's that he's basically merged with an entirely different character to make him more serious lmao
