ahfkafhksfh yeah no problem. its not a theory its just ... brain worms that have taken a specific shape but thats not new this is just the latest form. under a cut because i hate like. getting peoples hopes up over something ive entirely made up

FUCK DUDE THAT WAS FAST. ok ok fair. ok so to start off, i DO actually picture an AMV for this HDSGFDSHGJ ive never made an AMV before but god do i wanna. maybe i’ll attempt one in december when i have my christmas break off school?? i need an editing software fhdgdsjhfgsjd if any of yall know one thats free or cheap please lmk. the AMV itself i picture in black, white and bright pink. its inspired by another planetary go AMV, an undertale one from like 4/5 years ago. its how i first found the song so i always associated those colours with it lol.

He’s convincing Jay to do his bidding. We see the two shake hands.

Zalgo pretends to help him. On ‘‘Who they wanted to see’‘ we see Jay being shown a picture of Doby. Who they want you to be Who they wanted to see Just leave the party with me and never go home We see Doby again, still being a murderer and having fun. On the last line we see him running along with Toby.

Doby and Jay hug, then it cuts to the two of them plus Toby sitting on the bed talking. On ‘’kill the party with me’’ Godfrey BUSTS into the room, attacks Toby and Doby and then Jay fuckin smacks him over the head with a baseball bat. The three of them start arguing and then Jay points at the window in fear. Who they want you to be Who they wanted to see Just leave the party with me and never go home Hobo Heart is at the window. This makes sense in context I promise. He motions for Toby and Doby to follow him. Doby and Jay exchange a look and Doby follows after him. Things get a little rough from around here to the end of the song im sorry HDSFGJDSGJ
You keep eternity, give us the radio Deploy the battery, we're taking back control Doby and Toby are the ones speaking here. They’re in Slender Mansion now, getting ready to fight. Engage the energy, light up the effigy We see Jay again, tying Godfrey to a chair like a reasonable human being. On ‘’light up the effigy’’ his phone lights up. Zalgo is calling him. No chance to take it slow By now I'm sure you know, know, know, know, know (one, two, three, four) We see Jay freak out and Z’s appear in his eyes. Godfrey climbs out of the chair and looks at him. Get up and go Jay, who’s now under Zalgo’s control, follows Godfrey out of the house

Toby tries to jump it but he doesn’t make it and is left clinging to the edge. We get a shot of Doby, laying on the ground, too pained to help his friend. Then we see Toby lose his grip

author's note: bruh. yall knew i had to write SOMETHING!!! these last couple weeks have been CRAZY for us gruvia lovers ughhh im so happy!!! and ok im probably eventually going to write what i think will happen in the upcoming chapters before they come out, but i usually don't like to write fics based on like what i think will happen in the next chap. cus then when my fic is just completely disproven by the following chapter im kinda like "eh thats kind of a waste." u know what im saying?? ik theyre called "fan fiction" for a reason but idk. i like to write things that could actually be in the realm of possibilities for the canon. ok does that make any sense??? ok well this fic is heavily inspired by our beautiful chapter 26. also it is soooo like 192727 other drabbles ive already written hehe. also this literally doesnt rly make sense tbh. i just wanted gray telling juvia his thought process like he did w juvina. so. enjoy❤️❤️❤️

"Gray-sama would you like to-" Juvia eagerly approached her dear Gray. Since the guild was finally up and running again after the Alvarez war, she couldn't wait to spend actual quality time with Gray. They hadn't really gotten to since they were so busy with the construction of the guild.
"Nope. Goin' on a job." Gray casually walked passed Juvia with his hands in his pockets.
"Eh?!" Juvia snapped her head around and watched Gray leave. "So soon?! Can Juvia at least come with?!" She called out as he continued to walk.
"Nope. Talk to ya' later." Gray didn't turn around. He just stuck a hand up and waved, still heading straight out the door.
Juvia was taken aback for a moment, but she understood. As much as she loved to shower Gray with affection, she knew he was a lone wolf at heart. And with constantly being surrounded by his guildmates as they all fought for who would get to use the hammer next, he was certainly drained.
Juvia nodded with determination. "It's alright. Next time." She said with certainty in her head.
However, over the next three weeks of Gray taking mission after mission and constantly dismissing Juvia, she was frustrated to say the least. She watched him walk out that door with hardly acknowledging her for the last time.
Without even thinking, her feet began to strut their way to catch up with Gray. She picked up her pace and finally caught up with him before he could leave the grounds of the guild.
"Gray-sama." Juvia called, and Gray paused. She used the time to catch up with him, and there they stood in the courtyard.
"What's up?" He simply asked.
"Juvia was just-- well--" She began to get nervous. She cheeks reddened as imagery of she and her beloved Gray danced through her head. She shyly put her hands behind her bag and wiggled her foot a bit. "Juvia was hoping to spend some time with Gray-sama, now that everything's finally calmed down."
"Yeah. We can later." Gray turned right back around and began walking again.
"Wait!" Juvia reached out and grabbed his wrist, stopping him in his tracks. She let go after a brief pause and Gray looking back at her with his piercing eyes.
"It's just-" She looked away, her eyes saddened. "Juvia's been trying to talk to Gray-sama for about three weeks now, and you've done nothing but ignore me." She pouted a bit. "Just when will later be?" She finished.
Gray sighed. "I dunno'"
"You don't know?!"
"Yeah. I don't know when later will be." His voice was firm.
Juvia was startled at the harshness of his voice and sheepishly caved in a bit. "Has-" Juvia stammered, clearly nervouse. "Has Juvia done something?"
"Huh?" Gray rasied a brow.
"Has Juvia done something to make Gray-sama mad at her?" Her eyes were suddenly glossy with tears, and Gray's eyes reacted by opening up.
"N-no! Not at all! You said it yourself, we haven't hung out in weeks. How could I be mad at you?" Gray was guilty for his tone.
"But why haven't you spent time with me in weeks Gray-sama?" Juvia pried, almost begging. "There's got to be a reason."
Gray's face regained composure. He remembered his purpose. He looked away. "I'm busy."
"Busy with what?"
"Busy with work."
"Well, you don't have to be so busy. And if you need to work so badly, you can always bring Juvia with you on-" Her voice regained its spunk as she began to form a new idea, only to have Gray shoot it down.
"No." He was harsh again.
"No?" Juvia's voice quivered.
"This doesn't have anything to do with you." Gray still looked away.
Juvia's heart sunk. "Oh." Tears began to well up again. "Well." She was looking for the right words to say, but she was at a loss. "Juvia will just mind her own business then." Just as she turned away to sulk back to the guild, Gray caught a glimpse of the tear that rolled down her cheek.
"Wait!" This time, Gray was the one reaching for Juvia's wrist. "I'm sorry." His voice was smoother.
"N-no..." Juvia's voice was timid. "Juvia is the one who is sorry for-"
"Stop it. You don't need to apologize." Gray loosened the grip on her wrist, but pulled her back a couple steps.
"I was lying." Gray said as Juvia finally faced him again, tears glassing over her eyes. "This does have to do with you." He blushed.
"Then why can't Juvia come with-"
"Because, that's not why it has to do with you." As Juvia cocked her head to side, clearly confused, Gray realized that what he was saying sounded silly.
"Gah!" Gray called out and hit himself with his palm, feeling frustrated for bot understanding how to form the thoughts in his head into words. "Do you wanna' sit somewhere?" He finally asked.
Juvia was still confused, but of course nodded in agreement.
The two found a nearby bench that was sitting right in front of a big, clear lake. The sunset reflected on the water, and created an image almost as beautiful as the water itself. They looked at in admiration for a moment, and Juvia turned back to Gray.
"So how does this involve Juvia?" She finally asked.
"I-- I--" Gray remained looking at the lake and ruffled his hair. "I gotta' keep going on missions."
"But why?" Juvia asked, sweetly.
"I... have to get stronger." Gray grumbled as he leaned forward.
"Stronger?" Juvia chuckled. "That's silly! Gray-sama is already the strongest man in the whole world! There is no one thay can compare to you, dear! Why would you think a few missions could improve that?" Juvia swooned.
"If I was the strongest man in the world you wouldn't have that scar." Gray finally said something clearly. Juvia choked on her breath.
"Eh?" She said, softly. "Juvia gave this scar to herself."
"And it was to save me." He seemed like he was growing angrier.
"Yes, but-"
"If I was strong enough, I would've been able to break his chains before that happened. I would've been able to stop it and save you." The composure in his voice was clearly wavering.
"Gray-sama..." Juvia reached an arm and placed it on Gray's back.
"I'm sorry Juvia." His voice shook, and he still did not look at her. "I know I promised you an answer, and at the time i meant it. I still do. It's just-"
Horrible images flashed in Gray's mind, making his skin crawl. "After Invel, and almost losing you, not begin able to protect you... it--it killed me." Gray gritted his teeth, almost like he was biting back tears.
"Darling... You know Juvia is just fine protecting herself." She reasoned.
"Yeah, but you don't understand." He spat.
"Juvia is trying to understand."
"I need more confidence in myself. I need it. I need to know I can protect you when the time comes. And I need to know with 100% certainty." He finally looked at her, and Juvia swore she could see tears trying to break loose from his eyes. "I thought I knew back then, but I was wrong. Just like I was with Ur, Ultear, my dad, and anyone that I've ever loved, but wanted to protect. Just when I thought I could, it was too late. I thought it was too late with you, but it wasn't. This is my second chance, Juvia. I need to know for certain that I'll be enough."
Juvia scooted a bit closer. "Gray-sama, there is always going to be something out there that will pose a threat to you or me. It's inevitable. All that matters is that we do everything in our power to protect one another. As long as we try, our love will always prevail. You were more than enough for me from the moment we met, and Juvia would think you would see that by now."
"I know how you feel about me, and I know how I feel about you. I just need to make sure I'm the best version of myself for you. Please, understand. I have to do this." His eyes were beckoning for her.
"Gray-sama, Juvia just-" She paused when she saw the desperation in his eyes. "When will it finally be enough? When will you know you're strong enough?"
"I've decided I'm going to take the 100 Years Quest. After that, I'll be ready. I'm certain of it." Determination was plastered in his face once again.
"This is so unnecessary." Juvia sighed. "But if this is what Gray-sama must do, Juvia will wait. Juvia understands that you must do this for yourself, but I just wish Gray-sama can see that he is already more than enough for me." She put her hand atop of his and gave him a reassuring grin.
"Thank you." Gray smiled back and gave her hand a little squeeze. "I know I'll be ready soon, and once I am, I'm gonna' go after you." Gray gave a smirk, Juvia's face became flushed with his sudden forwardness.
The two shared a heartfelt gaze, as they looked in each other's eyes and finally understood one another. They gave calming smiles, finished by another hand squeeze from Gray.
"No matter what."

I paced my bedroom a few times. My hands shook and I couldn't get the ghost of my mom's disappointed expression out of my head. I ran my hands over my face and stopped to look at myself in the mirror.
"What have I gotten myself into?"
I shook my head no before turning and picking my bag up off my bed. When I looked up the boys van was outside. I turned back around abruptly when I heard my door click. My little sister walked in with knowing eyes.
"You're going with them aren't you?"
I offered a sad smile.
"You know that I am."
She walked over and reached out for my arm.
"Just be safe okay?"
Tears stung my eyes as I wrapped her in a tight hug.
"I'm sorry we didn't get along as well as we should've."
She let out a short laugh, I could tell she was trying not to cry too.
"Go live your best life with those two dumbasses ya hear."
I laughed and nodded my head, watching her turn and leave my room. I turned back around, stepped up onto my bed, and climbed out my bedroom window. It was a short drop down from the second story landing so I didn't have much of a problem. When I stood up after landing on the grass ted got out of the passenger seat and stood next to the van smiling widely at me. When I reached him he wrapped me in a big hug.
"Babe, you sure you wanna do this?"
I stepped back and nodded at him.
"I wouldn't want anything else. and besides, i promised id write."
i looked back at my house and could see my sister watching me through her window. when i turned around i gave ted a reassuring smile. He leaned down and kissed me gently.
"Let's hit it then."
I got in the back and watched my house fade into the distance.

I sat on the floor with my back against the wall, pen and paper in hand but loosely placed over my thigh. We had finally found a small apartment but we didn't have enough money for furniture so I really had no other option. The living room was littered with the few instruments the guys had and the two bedrooms were nearly empty. Bill had his own room now, with what little personal things he had brought, Mine and Ted's room being similar. The kitchen was empty other than the few groceries in the fridge and a stack of papers plates. It wasn't much but we were happy to be together out in the world.
Bill had gone out for the day to try and book gigs for wyld stallyns and find a job to tide us over for a while. Ted and i had already luckily found jobs upon moving to the new city and were keeping us afloat for the time being with rent and everyday essentials. We had only been in our new apartment for a short while but we'd all been living in the van for a few weeks before that. it was at least gas money while we were looking for a place to stay rather than hotel money. But it had given us a little bit of time to make money to cover what we had spent out of the apartment budget money.
i sat quietly and looked around at the small living room, waiting for ted to get out of the shower. we'd just gotten done with one of our heated make-out sessions and i could tell he was hot and bothered after. so while he showered i decided to think out our future and try to write to my mother and sister. i was trying to put into words what i havent even told ted yet. after all, i did just find out i was pregnant less than a week ago, test taken and doctors appointment scheduled.
and who would have thought, we'd been out on our own for about a month and a half now and were practically jumping each others bones anytime we could. i wouldnt say i wasnt surprised when i missed my period but we werent exactly as careful as we could have been. and in all honestly maybe we shouldve, after all, a box of condoms is much cheaper than a baby. my ears perked up when i heard the bathroom door open. in came ted with a towel around his waist and his hair a mess from being towel dried. i laughed at the grin he sent me.
"so, you wanna get back to what we were doing before i got in the shower? before bill gets home."
i just smiled and shook my head, putting the writings down and slowly rising off the floor.
"actually ted i need to talk to you about that."
his face fell.
"oh no"
i shook my hands in front of me.
"no no its nothing bad i promise."
his smiled returned and he shrugged.
"oh okay"
i grabbed his hand lightly.
"ted, i love you."
"i love you too y/n"
i smiled at him.
"and weve been together for a bit now. and when you asked me to come away with you and bill i was more than excited."
"a most excellent decision babe."
he grinned down at me, and tilted his head, a few hairs falling over his eyes. i grabbed his other hand, now having both of them in my possession.
"yes ted, it was, and still is. because if i hadnt made that decision i wouldnt be having this conversation with you right now."
he looked confused.
"ted i went to the doctor yesterday while you were at work."
"nothings wrong is it?"
i shook my head and laughed a little, im glad he was concerned though.
"actually ted, the opposite, i went because im pregnant."
he still looked a little confused. but his expression seemed more like he was processing what i had said than anything else.
"wait, really?"
i nodded at him. then a large smile appeared on his face and he picked me up, kissing me passionately. when he set me down his smiled disappeared again.
"wait, y/n, how are we gonna take care of a kid? i can barely take care of myself."
i laughed.
"and who makes sure you at least try to take care of yourself?"
he deadpanned.
"bill?"
he laughed as i smacked his arm playfully.
"jerk, but even if that were true bill will still be around so..."
he kissed me gently and wrapped me in a hug. when he pulled away he looked at me with a semi-serious face,.
"what do you think our parents are gonna think?"
i let out a nervous laugh and bent down to pick up the half started letter.
"actually ive been thinking about that. care to help me write the big news out to my family?"
he smiled and kissed my forehead.
"id love to."

something i’ve been thinking a lot about is visual language re:character design? like sharp/pointy/triangle is typically visual shorthand for sneaky/evil/suspicious while soft/round/circle equals bubbly/good/pure
or how black = Bad and white = Good
and like... while that shorthand can be used to good effect, the fact that these things have been so heavily ingrained in our minds is kinda... dangerous? like theyre so cliche we dont even think about them, theyre Normal.
like i designed my aziraphale to have blonde hair and blue eyes and i? kinda regret that now lol?
i mean like part of my thought process was that i wanted him to still be recognizable to an audience that is here from the tv series
but the other part of my thought process was also “this is an angel. angels are typically depicted with blonde hair and blue eyes. so im giving this angel blonde hair and blue eyes.” which was also prob why aziraphale looks the way he does in the show
but like! i thought that! actually, i didnt even really Think about it bc angel and blonde hair/blue eyes were so heavily associated with each other in my mind
and it wasnt until later that i realized that: oh wait hey uh it’s kinda weird to have this symbol of Purity and Goodness be indicated by typically white characteristics huh? thats actually weird!
ive also seen fanart with crowley being significantly more tan than aziraphale? like it’s their tv show selves, theyre both white, but crowley’s skin tone is darkened despite in reality them being pretty similar in tone?
and im not saying the artists’ thought process was “im gonna make the evil one darker” but i think probably “im gonna emphasize the paleness of the angelic one” played a role there
i feel like at first glance there doesnt seem to be anything wrong with that! i mean that was my first thought! until i actually took a second to think about how Weeeiiiird it is that, again, paleness was being used as a signifier for Pure.pale skin is a normal thing people have, why are we giving it these significant associations
and i feel like maybe (hopefully not) some people are reading this and are thinking “it’s not That Deep”
but that’s what i Mean!!! like! it doesnt seem That Deep bc these associations are something that have been ingrained into our minds over a loooooong period of time to the point that they seem perfectly normal! like Of Course angels are white and blonde and blue eyed?? like of course it’s not weird that it never occured to me, a person of color, that an angel could look like me? not weird at all! no need to question anything here bc that’s just how things are!!
like the thing is, im already Aware of the discussion surrounding angels being predominately depicted as white and yet that association Still stuck in my mind
anyway. i dont think the use of this visual vocabulary is inherently bad just reflecting that i definitely need to be more careful and vigilant bc it’s not always gonna be so immediately obvious to me when i making use of harmful imagery

Day 2.1: Sometimes Home is a Color
This one is for @a-mess-of-a-princess , who is a new friend of mine. A good pal, a salty buddy, always willing to talk buddy. Also as a kind of apology for getting you into 17 with me im not sorry about that at all lmao

[ Word Count: 1589 | Prompt: The world is in black and white until you meet your soulmate. ]
“No visible marks, no countdown, no response if skin is written on,” the figure looming above them read off from a checklist. They still couldn't tell anything about the figure. Even their voice sounded like a robot. Interesting. “There's only one more test before we can let you through.” They said. The test they had been preparing for.
Joining this agency was the wrong move, they knew that. But getting off the map was the only way to survive. And they could do that here, as long as they passed this test…
“What color is this?” The figure spoke, holding up a picture. It was of a person they had never seen before, and they were pointing at the person’s hair.
There was no hesitation. “They're blonde.” The figure put the picture away and picked up another, now pointing to the person’s eyes. Again, no hesitation. “Hazel.” Another picture, of a building, the figure pointing to a single letter of a sign. “Red.” Now pointing to a random person’s jacket. “Aqua. Bold choice, if you ask me. With those shoes.”
The figure put the picture down and picked up the clipboard with their checklist again. “Color, check.” They marked a checkmark in the box and looked straight at them. “Agent Vanderwood, welcome to GFX.”

Those tests were all fairly simple, but crucial to the recruiting process. Agents were not allowed into the program if they had a soul mark. The agency had begun cracking down on more of the non-visible ones, too. Which is why Vanderwood had to prepare for the test...because they couldn't see colors at all.
It took forever, but with enough practice and one trustworthy colleague, they were able to guess colors by the shade of grey they were. It was excruciating, but worth it.
Who needs color anyways?

707 was going to drive Vanderwood insane. What the hell was he on about? A cult drugging people for the sake of happiness? A hacker better than him but it turned out to be his long lost twin? All because of lover’s quarrel and intense sun imagery? What kind of charity association is this? It sounded like a pipe dream.
“But it's over. And we’re finally going to have our party, so you have to come.” 707 said.
“I don't have to come, 07. I'm not part of this mess.” The responded.
“No, you’re not. But you can join our association.”
Vanderwood let out a laugh, “Absolutely not. You tell me all that, then expect me to join that mess? No way.”
707 leaned back in his chair before kicking his feet up, laying them on his keyboard. “You're gonna want to when we release the information about the agency. And no, you're not going to stop me. I'm not going to be the one to do it. So you either join or you go down with them.”
His tone had that unfamiliar serious to it that only showed up when he was extensively late for a deadline or after they tased him. It was intimidating, rare for 707. All they could say was “...So, the party.”
“Noon, tomorrow. I'll tell V you're coming.” 707 said with a smile, the cheeriness back in his voice. This kid really scared Vanderwood sometimes.

The party wasn't actually that bad. There was quite a lot of people as well, considering that their new coordinator had a limited amount of time to invite people. Vanderwood was quite impressed.
They followed Saeyoung’s lead, mainly because they didn’t know anyone else here and was still wary about their agent status, but also because he wanted them to meet V. As much as Vanderwood heard about the guy, they had never met him. It was only fair.
“V!” Saeyoung called out when he was close enough, causing V to turn around. Dang, his hair really was blue. For a second, Vanderwood wondered what it would look like if they could actually see it, instead of the light grey it was, but they chased the thought quickly. Start thinking like that, the thought of finding their soulmate would come with it, and Vanderwood knew it was not the time to worry about that.
“Saeyoung, you look more excited than usual.” V said with a small, almost fatherly smile. “And remember, it’s Jihyun now. Anyways,” He turned to Vanderwood with a smile. “I’m glad to see that you made it, I’ve heard a lot about you.”
Vanderwood managed a smile back at him before shooting Saeyoung a look. “I’m sure it’s not good, but thanks. I’ve heard a lot about you too, in a good way.”
V let out a laugh, “I’m honored. And I hope you consider our offer to join the RFA. The members will be glad to meet you. But for now, enjoy the party. Our coordinator did a wonderful job!” He said. On that last bit, he moved to the side, gesturing towards a woman, her back turned. “Hey, Faith!” V called out, making her turn around.
She walked over, smiling at V. “Yeah? Is something wrong, V?” He shook his head, gesturing to Vanderwood. “I just wanted to introduce you two. Vanderwood, this is Faith - our new coordinator. Faith, this is Vanderwood, Saeyoung’s...partner?”
“Babysitter.” They corrected, earning a slap from Saeyoung that they ignored. “Nice to meet you,” They said extending their hand for Faith to shake while turning to face her. And as soon as their eyes met, Vanderwood froze. They could tell Faith did too.
The first thing they noticed was her eyes. They were...brown. Like, actually brown. Not the grey they were used to distinguishing as brown, but the color. It was the first actual color Vanderwood had seen. And then they took in the rest of the room and people around them.
Everything was colored. They could see just how obnoxiously red Saeyoung’s hair was, how nice these decorations really were, how just...vibrant everything was.
Faith saw the exact same thing. And before they knew it, the two of them were looking around the room, bewildered.
“Uh, guys?” Saeyoung said, snapping both of them out of their amazement. “You okay? You both look like you just realized where you were.”
Vanderwood ignored him, as they tended to do, and looked at Faith with a small smile. “I know I said this already, but it really is a pleasure to meet you.”
Faith smiled at them widely. “Same to you, it's a real pleasure. Are you, uh...joining the RFA?” She asked, hopeful.
Oh yeah, that.
They still weren't sure. Going down with the agency was going to be one big hellhole, but being on the map again…
But Faith also changed things, they realized. They could both see colors now. They were soulmates. And things changed when you found your soulmate. The agency would know.
“I-” they started.
“Yeah, I am.”

Faith had her legs propped up on their lap, scrolling through her phone. The chat room, probably. It had become a lot more busy since the first couple parties. And with the holidays coming up, the RFA wanted to have a fundraiser, so it just made them all extra busy. It was nice, though. It felt like they were all a little family.
“Hey,” Faith said, making Vanderwood look over at them from the book they were reading.
“Yes?” They answered, putting their book to the side before grabbing Faith’s legs and pulling her more towards them. It made her smile.
“What's your favorite color?” She asked.
They didn't hesitate, “Brown.”
She say up, raising an eyebrow, “Never heard that one before.”
“What did you expect, purple? It's my aesthetic, hun.”
“No, I mean, that's not something people usually say is their favorite. It's nice, but...why favorite? Out of all colors?”
They looked over at them, thinking for a second. Vanderwood was never exactly good at expressing what they felt, but..it was worth a shot.
“Well, it was the first color I ever saw. It’s the color of your eyes. The color of my soulmate. It reminds me of the day I met you and how the world literally changed. And it might seem weird that it's my favorite color, but it holds a lot of importance to me.”
There was a moment of silence before Faith could muster up words. “Wow, I-”
“Don't tell anyone I said that.” Vanderwood said, now blushing and attempting to hide their face. It made Fauth laugh and lean forward, pressing a kiss onto their shoulder.
“I won't, don't worry. That was really sweet, thank you…”
“No need to thank me. You’re the one that made me see it, after all.” Vanderwood said, still attempting to hide their face.
“Yeah, well, same to you. It's the first color I saw, too. And now it's just...comforting. It feels like home.”
Home. Vanderwood never had much of an opinion on that word before. It never meant anything because they never had one. It was all just running and trying to survive, but now...now they were part of an organization that wasn’t out to kill them upon first mistake and they were sitting with their soulmate.
It felt like home. The word had meaning now. But all they could manage to say was, “Exactly. It’s safe, comforting..”
Vanderwood finally showed their face, but only to quickly turn and give Faith a kiss on the forehead, one because they felt like it and two because they wanted to see them blush when they said, “It’s you.”

Justifying Holmes/Watson or Johnlock as a Player in the Drama (Part I)
What if you’re trying to justify John’s place in Sherlock’s life, but you can’t do it via the meta or screenshots we use? If you’re any of the actual players in the drama (and this makes it possible to pair with trance or EMP theories), you have to quickly push it all together to tie up those ‘loose ends’?
John’s odd blog jpeg from T6T is shown above. Nappies, which means diapers he shouldn’t even be needing yet (unless this is a projection *coughs*) or it also means a large circular platter (if your thoughts run to reflective items and circles of thought--which they should--read the linked meta. We already know that S4 is basically the previous seasons, done backward.)
In order to hold up his place, according to some, John would have to continue on cases with Sherlock and keep writing his blog. Lestrade becomes fixated on the idea in S4, which seemed very strange, except if you’re reviewing the blog and fitting in additional information. Also, in canon ACD and Granada adaptations, this is in keeping with why Watson began writing down the cases for publication. Most of the time, and it’s mentioned more than once, Holmes wasn’t receiving credit in the newspapers for his solving of the crimes--it goes to the multiple lead investigators. Remember this point for later.
Lestrade is afraid...And Sherlock comments his Boswell is learning...
Not fast enough, Sherlock...
Sherlock thought John meant him, but John says he was talking to Mary, so this fanciful solution (7% or otherwise), isn’t working out for Sherlock. Mycroft asks modern John to look after Sherlock, but the end of the special tells us that such a thing never happened, because we’re still in 1895. It’s echoed in S4, by John having a full time job, being a husband, and then also a father. TFP ends Sherlock asking Lestrade to do exactly the same thing with Mycroft, and Lestrade finally saying Sherlock is a good man (going back to ASiP).
NEW OPENING (VICTORIAN) TITLES (with a Victorian twist to the theme tune). Close-up on an issue of The Strand Magazine. Nearby, a news vendor is calling out to the passing pedestrians. He is holding newspapers and another copy of The Strand with a small red sleeve around it on which are the words “SHERLOCK HOLMES” and an in-profile white silhouette of the detective. Offscreen, carollers can be heard singing “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing.” NEWS VENDOR: Papers! Papers! (A hansom cab approaches along the street.) NEWS VENDOR: Papers! Papers! (The cab slows down as Watson leans out of the window a little and gestures to attract the attention of the vendor.) WATSON: Here. (The cab stops.) WATSON: How’s ‘The Blue Carbuncle’ doing? NEWS VENDOR: Very popular, Doctor Watson. Is there gonna be a proper murder next time? WATSON: I’ll have a word with the criminal classes. NEWS VENDOR: If you wouldn’t mind. (He points towards the figure sitting next to Watson.) NEWS VENDOR: Is that ’im? Is ’e in there? (Holmes, mostly obscured from the vendor’s view, apparently kicks Watson, who grunts.) WATSON: No. No, no, not at all. (He tips a finger to his hat.) Ah, good day to you. CABBIE (to his horse, shaking the reins at it): Walk on. (The cab sets off again. The news vendor calls after it.) NEWS VENDOR: Merry Christmas, Mr Holmes!
The Blue Carbuncle. This is interesting, because that case isn’t on 21st century John’s blog. According to John, it wasn’t a case interesting enough for Sherlock to take on, and they go through a series of comments about Bond films and cat videos. The other option is The Adventure of the Mazarin Stone.
The Adventure of the Mazarin Stone was one of two instances where the original canon story was written in third person. It was based on a play, and Watson was barely in it. The other story was His Last Bow (HLB). The action in TAotMS all takes places in one room, rather similar to the beginning of TAB. The plot twist comes that the play has been what Holmes has overheard of a conversation between two criminals. Now, apply this idea to the one that Sherlock is still unconscious in hospital, but capable of overhearing and processing what is heard around him. It echoes Sherlock’s comment in TAB about his MP being able to do things more than what Mycroft knows, and Mycroft agrees.
Be sure to read @jenna221b meta about how the cases are twins, and fixes are being added in as well as Sherlock S4 as Epic Theatre.
In Terror By Night, which we know Mofftiss used in MHR, includes aspects from TAofMS. In Granada adaptations, this case was merged with The Three Garridebs, which were practically absent in S4 of Sherlock.
Mofftiss would have us believe all we got was the three men hanging around at the mercy of Eurus, but I’ve been working with the idea that Moffttis is re-enacting the post Reichenbach behavior of Holmes and Watson from Granada. Hardwicke replaced Burke after TFP (comparable to Sherlock TRF), and Johnlock wasn’t the same afterward. It takes several episodes before it returns to the warm, close physical proximity, flirtatious pairing we see before Holmes “dies” and Burke was replaced.
Interestingly, the cases that do show it, are the ones where Mofftiss borrowed the most from Granada. Granada The Devil’s Foot, Sherlock S4 Imagery, and Moriarty or Mortimer & A Little Glimpse Into Granada’s ‘Eligible Bachelor’ by @ebaeschnbliah (Also interesting that we posted these meta within hours of one another, without having talked about the influence factor at all.) As you can tell from the second meta, Eurus had an obvious reference in EB (although The Musgrave Ritual--which is used in Sherlock TFP), also gave a visual hint via Rachel, the one that allowed a man to die down a hole, and it showed the coming revival of Johnlock closeness--although it wouldn’t happen until TDF. If you don’t think that’s important, remember that Moffttiss said TD12 as a name only happened, because the name they wanted to use was taken. While writing this, I found a similar meta to mine about TDF by @devoursjohnlock Maybe I am helping connect dots...
From this meta by @may-shepard we see that Doyle’s story The Parasite, coincides with S4, and the also the dates from the story fill in the missing dates on John’s blog.
At the end of TLD, John and Lestrade are discussing the morgue incident. They specifically mention HLV (HLB in canon). It seems like they are wrapping up those loose ends Sherlock doesn’t like to have on his watch, but he’s been in hospital, even though according to what Sherlock and Mycroft know from T6T--the loose ends from HLV are already edited and he’s free of that.
According to TAB, all the modern elements we know of from Sherlock, are all lunatic fantasy...or metaphorical flights of fancy...Holmes theorizes it could come to pass, but only after the echo of the idea of having proper murders. Moffttis was adamant that Mary had to die, because that’s how it was in the stories, but it isn’t. We’re never told what happened to Mary.

Shortly afterwards, the car pulls away and drives off along the tarmac. As the scene fades out, the familiar ‘Pursuit’ music starts ... and almost immediately grinds to a halt. The screen remains dark for a moment and then ... WATSON (offscreen): Flying machines; these, er, telephone contraptions ... (The screen fades up to reveal Holmes and Watson sitting in their armchairs in the sitting room of 221B. Each of them is smoking a pipe.) WATSON: What sort of lunatic fantasy is that? HOLMES: It was simply my conjecture of what a future world might look like, and how you and I might fit inside it. (Watson nods.) HOLMES: From a drop of water, a logician should be able to infer the possibility of an Atlantic or a Niagara. WATSON: Or a Reichenbach. HOLMES: Have you written up your account of the case? WATSON: Yes. HOLMES: Hmm. Modified to put it down as one of my rare failures, of course? WATSON: Of course. (Holmes looks thoughtful for a moment.) HOLMES: “The Adventure of ... the Invisible Army.” (Watson looks upwards, considering it.) HOLMES: “The League of Furies”? (He leans forward, smiling.) “The Monstrous Regiment.” WATSON: I rather thought ... “The Abominable Bride.” HOLMES (sitting back): A trifle lurid. WATSON: It’ll sell. It’s got proper murders in it, too. HOLMES (pointing his pipe at him): You’re the expert. WATSON: As for your own tale, are you sure it’s still just a seven percent solution that you take? I think you may have increased the dosage. HOLMES: Perhaps I was being a little fanciful ... (He looks down thoughtfully.) HOLMES: ... but perhaps such things could come to pass. (He stands up.) HOLMES: In any case, I know I would be very much at home in such a world. (Watson chuckles as Holmes walks across the room towards the right-hand window.) WATSON: Don’t think I would be. HOLMES: I beg to differ. (He looks out of the window.) HOLMES: But then I’ve always known I was a man out of his time. (He puts his pipe in his mouth and continues to look out of the window. The ‘Pursuit’ theme starts again, this time with a Victorian twist to it, as the camera slowly pulls back. Down in the street below, customers are going into SPEEDY’S Sandwich Bar & Cafe while more people – all dressed in modern-day clothing – walk past, and the road is busy with cars. A black cab passes a number 11 bus – destination Baker Street – as they drive past 221B ... ... where it is always 1895.)

So, if you’re going through the list of cases (as one of the players), you don’t always have to be present or in the physical framed shots of the events in order to do so. Remember how John was disappearing in shots from T6T, when Lestrade and Hopkins were present, and how Sherlock was working with multiple investigators regularly--not just Lestrade? It happened against in TFP, while Sherlock is trying to negotiate in Sherrinford with Eurus.
This is more in keeping with ACD and Granada, because Lestrade wasn’t the lead on all the cases. That he should be in most of Sherlock S1-3 made no real sense, so this is someone trying to cover their bases and possibly justify John’s continued existence in Sherlock’s life, through the filter of something other than being a couple. It still works though if you’re John, Lestrade, Mycroft or even unconscious or tranced Sherlock trying to show why John’s place by his side is vital--without giving away the romantic element (because to Sherlock, the romantic part is a mystery--he’s been unconscious since S2 or HLV).
