A/N - This was so cute I can’t :( and so fun to write because I play guitar!! ALSO IM WORKING THROUGH MY ASKS BACKWARDS!!! So bare with me 💕

Rafe was keen on teaching you guitar. His girl wanted to learn, so she was gonna learn! No one was gonna stop him from teaching you- even if that meant… well- you.

Once you finally got ahold of it. He quieted down, watching you play the little tune he showed you. You were rusty with the strings, nails a little too long- so you hit multiple at once. He cringed every time, but you were doing so good!

“That’s my girl,” he would coo from behind. Watching carefully as you played around with different notes. Only making you even more flustered. It wasn’t fair he was so good at this! I mean- sure he had been playing for years but!- That didn’t matter! It was frustrating that you kept accidentally hitting the wrong strings. You were doing your best!

It wasn’t long after before you finally loud out a frustrated groan. It was like honey to him, even if it was a complaint. He paused and looked at you while you found your words.

“Rafe my fingers hurttt!” You whined, only making the man snort.

“You gotta build up the callus, baby. Here, I’ll show you.”

He murmured into your shoulder before taking the guitar and placing it on the bed beside himself. His hands taking yours, running them over the rough skin on his fingers and palms.

“That’s what happens when you play all the time, makes it not hurt.”

His voice softly rung out from behind you. You only hummed in response, but it was answer enough for him. The blonde man behind you grinned before repeatedly kissing the side of your face. Causing a fit of giggles from the both of you.

“Stoppp!!” You swatted at him.

“But you taste so good,” he teased. Running his hands over your sides.

“Aren’t you supposed to be teaching me guitar?” You gestured towards the musical instrument. Causing him to hum behind you.

“I can do that anytime, now be good f’me and turn around, won’t ya?”

A few moments later you were straddling him. Kissing along his neck and he had a cocky grin on his face.

“That’s what I thought.”

Buck tilts his head and squints his eyes, studying Eddie in a way that makes him squirm, that makes him feel too exposed but at the same time he doesn't want to hide from it.

"I heard some of the tributes say the mentor with the best tribute wins a prize or something. You must really want it, huh?"

"You can think whatever you want," Eddie grits out. "But you trusted me out there. You had my back just like I have yours. Trust me on this, I don't care about the stupid prize, okay?"

"Whatever—" "What about Maddie, huh? Your sister? If you're not gonna fight for yourself, fight for her."

Buck's breath catches, something flashes in his eyes but it's too fast and Eddie doesn't get the chance to decipher it. "She's fine. This was her last year in the reaping, she's safe now."

"And what about when she has to watch you die in the Arena, Buck? What then? Will she be fine then?" "Do you think I want that? Do you think I wanted any of this?" Buck snaps and Eddie flinches, quickly looking over his shoulder to make sure the peacekeepers didn't hear Buck's outburst. "What choices do I have here, Eddie? What kind of weapon can you give me that will make me get out of this alive? I get what you're saying but something as ridiculous and as dangerous as hope doesn't exist for people like me. It's just another luxury we can't afford."

"Just let me think of something, okay? I'll figure something out." Desperation tinges his every word but at this point Eddie is in too deep to care. "Do you trust me?"

"I don't really have a choice." Buck whispers and that stings, a little zip of hurt shooting through Eddie's heart.

But then—

"Yeah, I trust you, though." Buck adds, softer than his words have any right to be in this kind of situation. Softer than anything Eddie deserves.

im gonna start by apologising because I have not been that active. i went and saw challengers, started watching ted lasso and got into professional cycling, and my exams are just about to finish and im gonna be honest i have been just reading fanfiction based on those. (because my ADHD hyperfixation has hit this point)

also small apology to the people waiting on the bachelor fic, i've rewritten the first chapter twice, but rest assured once i get the first chapter out of the way, the next few will come in quicker

Gnr and Redemption had been smushed together on a tour as the opening act for The Rolling Stones, and they were all having a blast. I mean how couldn’t they? With 5 girls and 5 guys they were all entangled with one another.

Well… except for Y/n and Slash. The front woman had fiery confidence that made everyone burn as she walked. And to Slash’s luck, all the boys had claimed the other girls before he could.

Don’t get him wrong, Y/n was the hottest member in Redemption. Sure all the other girls were very good looking. But everyone knew there was something about Y/n. Untouchable. Hypnotic. That’s what she was. In every aspect, her looks, confidence, songwriting, and voice.

But the thing was, Y/n was literally, untouchable. No matter how smooth Slash was with her, she never cared! And did that upset the curly haired guitarist.

It was like he was a game to her, he would get so close, yet he was so fucken far.

But he didn’t let himself get too hung up on her, he had the groupies!

Slash had been over this little game Y/n was playing with him, so he’s been with the groupies and paying her no mind.

And Y/n could laugh at the poor man, his poor attempt of trying to pay her no mind was not working. She could feel his eyes burning into her body as she was onstage. Even worse when Keith Richards would always shower her with his sweet little compliments.

Which is what was happening right now.

“Girls! Always putting up a great show.” Keith said as the girls came off stage. They had performed after Guns, so there was no rush for anything. “Thanks Keith” the girls said as they all went to each others little tour boyfriends.

Slash watched from the couch as Keith put his arm around Y/n waist. “You get nastier every time i see you out there.” he said as Y/n smiled at him. “You think?” she said looking at him, Keith looked over her shoulder then span her around to where she faced the rest of the room.

“What’da do to the boy Y/n” He said smiling “Lookin at me like i’ve touched his most prized possession.”

Now it was Y/ns turn to look over Keith’s shoulder, making straight eye contact with Slash and sending him her sweetest smile. Slash just rolled his eyes and put his attention back on the groupie sitting on his lap.

“I haven’t done anything” She said looking back at Keith. “And that’s exactly what’s got his balls in a twist.” She said smiling at him. “I’ve gotta say you play a mean game” He said, now lighting a cigarette. “You know it, I’ll see you later Keith.” She said kissing him on the cheek and walking away.

“Slash” Duff said as he and Amber caught up to their curly headed friend. “What” He said smoking a cigarette as they walked through the hotel halls. “I have a hugeeee favor to ask you” Amber said as she looked across Duff.

Slash gave her a short mumble, which she took as an okay to keep talking. “Okay so, please please pleaseeee switch rooms with me” She said holding up her key card.

Slash blew out his cigarette smoke, “D-” “okay yes im rooming with Y/n” she said cutting him off “But comon, were all gonna all hang out get fucked up so all you’re gonna have to do is walk back with her and knock out!” She said holding on to Duffs hand, almost jumping up and down.

Duff looked at Slash with a pleading look, the curly haired man sighed and shook his head “Fine. But you owe me Duff.” He said as he traded keys with Amber.

He walked to he and Y/ns room, huffing and puffing cause he was so upset that instead of rooming with Duff, he was stuck with rooming with the girl that he had been trying so hard to avoid.

He rubbed his hands on his face before entering the room, “it’s just for the fucking night” he mumbled to himself.

During this, Y/n was also huffing and puffing, but for a different reason. The poor girl couldn’t find the only bra she bought with her on this tour. Looking through her bags, cigarette in her mouth with nothing but mini skirt and a white pair of ankle socks on.

As she heard the door open, she had her back faced to who she though was Amber, and said “Am, have you seen my bra? like the only fucken one I bought on tour?”

Y/n jumped when she heard Slash’s deep voice “Haven’t seen it”

“You know” Y/n started as she stepped closer and closer to him “You’re the most impatient man” She said looking up to him, since he was only a few inches taller than her.

Slash looked at her, unable to move, “You’re such a fucken tease”

various thoughts on various things.

1. wow the phillies really crumbled didn't they. i think i'd be more upset about it if the writing hadn't been on the wall, the bye was never gonna work for us. a team that struggled batting and pitching the first two weeks and the two weeks after all stars was never gonna survive having a pre-post-season break. post-season doesn't give you two weeks to adjust. i hustled to get the clinch fic out because i could feel it in my stomach, and there was no scenario where i would finish writing it now, you know? oh well. now it's time to switch gears, the san jose sharks would never do this to me. (a team that can't make the playoffs also can't lose in the playoffs)

2. i've been thinking about making another ao3 account. for visual stuff. in my grand dreams i recommit to my old more traditional hobbies but realistically i suppose it would be a way to post moodboards or edits or whatever to ao3 collections. i think relearning how to draw and paint and whatever would be nice, but it feels far out to me. i should start closer. more realistic. either way i wanna do more visually creative stuff, i've been doing other things lately and i'd hate to get really rusty.

3. changed my phone bg from bryson and trea to 2ne1. you know, for the winter. trying to convince myself it's not a reactionary move, the baseball bgs were just really summery and i wanted change for the fall and winter, but didn't wanna change them before the season was over. love just my girls. tomorrow i'm gonna watch a bunch of fancams from the concert i think. remember when fancam meant a fan recorded video of a performance? i don't know what the fuck happened. i don't know what fandom took a thing the kpop fans were doing and changed the definition of it entirely. baffles me to this day.

4. i've been fiddling with the 52 weeks sequel a lot again, i think working on something that i know where it's going and i have a lot of plans and notes for but no concrete deadline or pressing need to get out there is really nice. im trying to figure out what the scope is, if i wanna go over the original timeline. because i do have scenes past it, i have notes spanning years past it, but i don't know how far i'm trying to get with the sequel and if it's something that's gonna get a third and fourth and fifth parts. i haven't really thought about it that hard. and if i decide it's the sequel, for the original "duration" and nothing else, what am i gonna do with all the stuff i've already written and planned out? i don't know.

16 year old me didn't think i'd still be here at 26 -

i didn't expect to still be on this earth in 2023

when i was around that age my home life was really shitty and abusive and lonely and my only saving grace at the time was the family i found within the one direction/5sos fandom. there were so many times then that my fandom friends saved me, literally.

i wouldn't be here today without them.

i stopped being in fandoms around 2016 and while i still have MANY long term close friends from that time, we all have gone our separate ways interest wise.

I didn't realize just how much i missed being a part of a community until i joined tumblr again. the austin/elvis fandom welcomed me with open arms & filled me with that same youthful joy and connection as i had when i was 16. and even BETTER bc this fandom has blown me away with how kind and gentle and loving it is

point is - i’m grateful that i AM still here, that i’ve been here long enough to meet you and experience this amazing fandom.

it's insane to me to think i would've never met some of the brightest stars of my days without walking into that theater that day. my year would've been so empty, lonely and sad without you all, so thank you all from the bottom of my cold lil heart - you all showed up in my life when i needed u the most

After about an hour or so everyone showed up and we got New York City New Years Eve special on the TV. Josh was running around dancing and yelling while Sam was right behind him running after him. Jita and Jake were on the couch watch the performances that came on while I was talking to Danny.

We heard Josh and Sam yelling when something made a loud bang in the next room. Both of the two boys got silent immediately and Sammy ran out of the room. I saw Josh standing over a broken flower vase with water and daisies all over the floor.

“Holy crap, Josh.” I heard Jake say from behind me.

“It wasn’t my fault guys!” Josh shot his hand in the air like he was getting arrested and we all looked back at Sammy.

“Why are we looking at me? Im not the one who stole their younger brother’s food and then ran off!” Sam argued back telling everyone their little confrontation.

“Okay you two, let's just go and sit on the couch,” I took Josh by the hand and lead him to the couch, “the ball’s going to drop soon and I don’t want you guys to miss it.”

He came back with a few bags in his hand and passed one out to everyone. He sat down next to me on the couch and said, “They’re presents for each of you guys! I’m really excited to spend another year with my best friends and these are just little “I love you” gifts for each of you!”

I started blushing when he said that. I know he said it to everyone but it felt weird that he said it you know?

Josh told everyone to open the gifts and as I was opening mine I felt someone looking at me. I turned to see Josh’s eyes on me as I was opening the gift. He looked away immediately after I looked up from the present. When I opened the present I picked up a locket that said “forever yours” with a picture of me and Josh inside of it. It was one of the sweetest things that I ever received. I looked at Josh again and saw him focusing on his hands. He looked nervous but kept a beautiful smile on his face.

“So do you like it?” Josh said looking up at me.

“Josh, I love it. Thank you so much.” I gave him a soft smile as he hugged me.

“I’m so glad you do! It was kind of hard to find something perfect and I knew this was it right when I saw it.”

Sam shot up from the couch and started to yell, “Guys! It’s starting! The ball drop!”

My ex used to do similar things tbh, except he would do it by messaging all the time, but if I didnt reply he would then start to accuse me of stuff (turns out he was doing everything he accused me of, if someone accuses you of stuff you're not doing, they're probs doing it) and would have me 2aiting all day for him to be ready so I could do anything at all because I would constantly be waiting dor him and then the day would be gone too.

But he would use super manipulative language too all the time, like I only do certain things because I love you, and if I didnt do stuff he wanted he would be super annoyed and upset or he would ignore me until he got what he wanted and then be happy. I found myself trying to please him all the time :(

This guy tho, a lil bot of context, some is probs my fault tbh, like when I like someone whether its romantically or platonic ally I get really nervous and at first when I talk to them I often reply slow because I'm nervous of making a mistake etc and putting them off so I'll wait hours because I'm thinking of the perfect reply etc... I do this with people I wanna be friends with too..... it's awful really I need to get out of the habit of it tbh... but anyway I did that with him but I've tried to speed it up a bit becasue j know it can be self destructive and I dont mean any harm by it but its prkbas partially my fault tbh

hey, it's natural to be nervous when talking to someone you like, everyone's like that, it's okay! but just don't obsess, you know? if he doesn't reply to your messages, well so be it. bc if you expect too much, you'll be even more disappointed.

and the most important thing here is, it's better to be alone that to be chasing after someone who doesn't care. i have to remind myself of that all the time... like yeah, sometimes it gets super lonely and you really really really wish you had that special connection with someone. but the feeling of loneliness is nothing compared to the feeling of frustration and feeling like you're not good enough for someone and the constant waiting for the other person to show any sort of affection. like i remember the things id put myself thru for my ex and it makes me shudder. id much rather be 10x more lonely than go thru that again.

and don't get me wrong, i don't want to victim blame, but it's very important to take responsibility for yourself too. if you know that you're susceptible to letting men walk all over you, watch out for the kind of behaviour that attracts manipulators who want to take advantage of that and change it. stand up to them and form relationships on your own terms and if it makes some men flee, it means that you're weeding out the bad ones. i know for sure that in my next relationship im not gonna be cancelling plans just for the possibility of him texting me, im not gonna be all pathetic if he wants to ignore me over a misunderstanding, im not gonna let him get away with things that cross my boundaries from day one, etc. it's gonna be hard bc you need to be very confident, know yourself well to know and assert your boundaries, but it's gonna be so worth it!
