One of the reasons i ship cyphmen is that i think cypher has a lot of empathy for omen in a place where most of the other agents can only really show sympathy

Starting out, omen knew nothing about who he was and where he came from and how he even came to be in the first place, so that’s what he becomes— nothing. Just a lingering shadow a few steps behind Viper at all times.

I think it would just get to him a lot of the time, namely in the forms of frustration and grief

And i think cypher would understand that.

The cypher i hold in my head is one who lost everything just before he came to Valorant. He came there because nowhere else is safe. He thought of himself as Prometheus but in reality was an Icarus, who reached the height of his power before having it all collapse beneath him.

(Of course Cypher never admits this aloud to Omen, at least not in the beginning of their friendship, because that would mean admitting that his presence in Valorant is a defensive move and that he’s vulnerable.)

Either way, Cypher knows what its like to be no one and have nothing to live for and nowhere else to go. The only difference is that where Omen doesn’t know about his past, Cypher does know about his own, and yet in the end neither of them can return to their pasts.

They’re both trying to rebuild themselves. A new name, a new face, new presence— they are trying to live past the respective messes they began with when they joined Valorant on day one.

Their stories intertwine and sort of rhyme in this way, and i find that beautiful

well the mr beast moment is supposed to be an example of the dystopian capitalist hellscape that exists in the glass universe, and dystopian settings are meant to be exaggerated versions of the society we currently live in to point out the flaws so yeah it is commentary lol. I have a lot of feelings regarding mr beast and the contrast between the philanthropic work he does while simultaneously exploiting people's financial struggles for entertainment but that's a discussion for another day

The world building was AMAZING and I got super immersed into the story really quickly. The writer explains things incredibly well and it’s not too hard to catch on! I loved the magical concepts within the fic as well, and the IwaOi friendship is SO good and the ushiwaka rivalry is still strong. I loved their dynamics and the backstories were developed REALLY intricately. I really enjoyed reading it, so that’s why I’m making a solo post about it LOL. There’s SMUT in it and some mentions of trauma so be careful reading it and make sure to check the tags!

(KomoSuna) I wish to live in a world by hatsuna (T) 24.8k // ok ngl this fic was so sad and relatable? Like I was like wtf why are you making me cry rn even though like I shouldn’t be? My heart? Something of the sort, but also their relationship (Komori and Sakusa) is written so well and idk guys I think you need to read this fic rn.

Second, UAFHSJF I have never read any fics with Washio as one of the ship parings, BUT BRO. THIS? Life changing. Oh my god. The characterization of Washio was just *chef’s kiss* AND the dynamic between him and Suna was so CUTE. It was SOOO GOOD, so good as in I skipped class to finish it good. As in, I would do it again good. I would not recommend being a bad student like me, but I am recommending this fic HAHAH. It has caused me to spiral into Washio ship fic hell, but I have no regrets.

(SemiShira) everything is blue by hatsuna (T) 3.8k // HELLO THIS WAS SO GOOD. After I read it, I actually felt like I got punched like in the guts also didn’t help that during the read I felt my guts twisting LMFASFLK. That sounds so bad but it’s because the writing was just SO SO good and it made me feel a lot LOL. The feeling of loss is just so evident mixed with the fact that it was a non linear plot was def a one two punch for me LMFAO but I just love so much about this fic please read it.

(KomoSuna) let the light in on the front porch by rosevtea (G) 3.6k // HELLLLLO? I LOVE THIS ONE??? I love love love Komori POV fics and also this rare pair so much AHHHH. I loved Kormoi’s characterization SOOO much and I loved his perception of the team and just how observant he was. Just the little things that he did in this fic I HAD ME CRYING (LIKE HIM SMILING AT THE CORNER).

(KuroAka) wish upon a falling star by Authoress (T) 2.7k // THIS WAS SO FUNNY. Also I love Akaashi so much in this HAHAH and his realization at the ending was priceless LMFAO. It’s almost canon that Kuroo would fall off a roof because I mean,,, it’s Kuroo….

not something that you put to bed: my first foray into soft wars! lmao, i was super nervous with this one lol but I do still like it more than i usually like my fics! And i was happy with how this one came out. It’s Edee squad centric, specifically Neyo and Fox interaction and yeah, there’s a reason i joke that my brand is trauma recovery dkjfskjdf.

don’t break the bottle: my second go at soft wars and I do still like this one, it’s Cody and Neyo centric, around Cody getting Neyo’s pledge and dealing with leftover stuff from Priest’s training. There’s things i’d def try and do better but, its nice and not as bad as i feared nkjdfjnd.

sins of the father: this is a second person Boba Fett character study and I do actually still adore it. it kicked off it’s own series actually, that I cowrite with @graaaaceeliz and has expanded far past what i thought would be just a tiny little oneshot to put my boba and jango feelings. It was a fun adventure into writing in a writing perspective i dont use much and helped me get a bit of a grasp on both Boba and Jango

and the whisper in your head goes quiet: another 2nd person Boba fic, made people mad at me jdfnsjkf. Includes the hc that Boba had a chip and it malfunctioned and Jango had the Kaminoans remove it.

the hum in the air (and the gentle love): was really nice to write and i do still love how soft it is,though there are things i’d def change. It’s a soft little codywan oneshot with poetry.

gentling the edges: Neyo and babies, im just...so soft, there is so much soft

little darling: Fox and babies, because i am so soft still over babies and the older clones okay.

you will be alone, always: was a fun one, made some people cry lol. Obi-Wan centric, canon compliant, with hints of QP Codywan.

love or the lack of it: Bly and Neyo centric, lots of fun to write lol. Soft wars, and im still quite pleased with it. a bit heavy, heed the tags.

fault lines: A fic about recovery and the difficulties, or; Dick Grayson and trauma, recovery, and his siblings. Something’s wrong with all of them but they work through it, eventually.

this one is a rough ride, still a WIP and it deals with a lot of heavy topics, flashbacks, trauma and discussions of the trauma, deaths, injuries, rape, broken relationships and dysfunctional ones, borderline abusive behaviour, talks about all of the above, and the healing process. Tread lightly with this one as it deals with heavy topics in it’s quest to say fuck you to certain dc writers.

Missions start flooding a local bounty hunter guild concerning reports of kids being taken from planets by a group of people nicknamed “Scoopers” to be pitted against one another in an underground fight club. The mission to uncover the operation falls on the head of the guild, Hopper(who’s a washed-up Mandalorian bc i said so). Robin, a rookie bounty hunter, catches wind of the operation and persuades Hopper to take her with him on the mission.

Meanwhile, Steve(a spice runner) is on his way to his next client, who just so happen to be the “Scoopers”.

on his homeplanet(its probably named Hawkins), he underwent knight training along w Nancy and Jonathan.

(you might notice some similarities between his outfit and the ones Mike and the other kids wear in the previous post)

Steve and Nancy were very much together, and they were the top knights in the program. Both were up for the position of the prince’s personal knight. The identity of the prince, until coronation, was unknown to the public, and so when Jonathan selected Nancy for his personal knight, Steve skipped town, and eventually, skipped planet altogether. 

but he didnt plan ahead, almost got his ass handed to him by some ex-hutts, and scrambled back to Hawkins. Joyce, who i think would be accurate to describe as the Queen Matron of Hawkins, gave him a chance to work at least as a top officer. 

during his return to Hawkins, Nancy gave him a pretty cold shoulder, only adding to Steve’s sense of displacement. 

he was given the task of hunting down some spice runners who’d stolen a bounty from one of their quarries, and fueled by resentment, he joined them instead. 

on one of his spice runs, he came across a rather wealthy Wookie family. he noticed, however, their son was rather sheltered, and took a keen interest in the business Steve had come into

it took him exactly three weeks for him to realize the kid had snuck onto his ship. the disappearing rations didnt occur to him until the packs were near empty.

he decided to take him with him on his spice run when the kid expressed extreme turmoil at home with his magnate family. but Steve sees himself more as the babysitter friend than the mom friend, having made a silent vow to return the kid(which was promised to himself after one adventure, which turned into five, and now they’re up to fifty. It’s been a couple years.)

so now he just does spice runs w dustin bc every story needs a lone star and a barf— i mean a han solo and chewie

1) of the fic you’ve written, which are you most proud of?Hmm… probably all my colors? Like, there’s a lot I’d like to go back and change, but at the end of the day it was my baby for a good two plus years and there’s a lot of personal stuff sprinkled in there. It kinda shows my emotional progression throughout high school in the story, and while that’s def not why I wrote it, it’s cool to go back and look at it sometimes to see the things I used to say/think about. Plus it’s one of the only massive projects of mine that I’ve actually completed, lol.

Also I have a lot of love for amc just bc it’s so… different, I guess? Like, I’ve never really seen something like it fleshed out into a full-length story, especially not with silver and blaze. And the fact that it rlly touched several ppl and got them rlly into it… that makes me feel kinda accomplished when I’m not being a self-deprecating prick lmao. I rlly rlly wanted it to be my first fic to get to 100 reviews for a reason!

2) favorite tense (past/present/future)Definitely past, I tried present with the unforgiven and it just made it frustrating to write, lmao.

3) favorite POV (first/second/third/etc)I prefer writing in first person, actually. I think it simplifies things for both the writer and reader, and I’ve always found a lot more freedom to be creative when I write in first person.

4) what are some themes you love writing about?Lmao well, obviously romance is priority one for me, so most of my themes stem from that. I rlly love writing about class struggle tho, whether it’s someone low who’s aiming high or a noble who isn’t satisfied with such a high class. Morality also comes up a lot in my writing, I guess; tryna figure out what the right thing to do is, tryna figure out if this character actually did the best thing, all that good stuff!

5) what inspires you to write?Definitely music… sometimes I’ll stray from it and pick up some inspo from movies/stories/etc, but 99% of the time I’ll be listening to a song and suddenly come up w a fic idea from it lmao.

6) thoughts on critiqueI encourage it!! bc I think it’s the only real way to improve. Sometimes it can make me feel bad if I’m in one of those rlly shitty self-deprecation ruts, but still I usually get over it soon even when I’m like that. I know it’s for the better, and I appreciate everyone who’s ever been kind enough, and cared enough abt my writing to give me critique!

10) what are your strengths wrt writing?Hmm… I get a lot of ppl saying that I’m pretty eloquent when it comes to phrasing/word choices? I’m constantly tinkering with how things are said, even up until like 30 seconds before I publish smth lmao. I also like to think I never just string sentences together and leave it at that when I’m narrating, I pay a lot of attention to how different sentences/phrases flow together.

11) what are your weaknesses wrt writing?My main weakness would probably be going overboard on all the little things, like how a sentence sounds or flows and stuff like that. I end up being a perfectionist with it, and sometimes when I’m crafting/changing phrases around, I end up with a sentence that kinda drags on or tries to do too much.

12) what’s your favorite place for writing resources?Tumblr’s pretty good for me, actually. I rarely ever seek out resources, but I do reblog a lot of them that come to me here and they’ve been very useful to me in the past.

basically lance has a big family in canon, we know this. but that doesnt automatically mean everyone in that pic is lances siblings. they could be aunts, uncles, cousins, w/e. and im pretty sure this fic gave lance like 6-7 siblings?? anyway legit when you find a Bad Fic it always has the lots of siblings, big family, things like that

the really traditional/homophobic relatives. i still don’t see fics where any of the other characters besides lance deal with homophobic rhetoric from their family besides lance’s even today. legit read this fic maybe not even a month or two ago where it ended with lance getting a broken arm from his dad for being in a relationship with keith.

just the demonization of lance’s dad in general is a pretty common trope, altho idk if that has to do with dl or not. it’s just common, but it could stem from that.

also the teenage pregnancy thing with the sister. like.... anyways.

this is still really common in fics and i dont know why?? ��its a flip, you either get aggressive lance or aggressive keith in most fics, but dirty l@undry really took the cake with reinforcing aggressive lance. they make lance really mean/hateful/cruel to keith instead of the actual bickering in the show. idk if he was sexually aggressive like a lot of other fics make him, but he was definitely a big asshole to keith in this fic.

they gave lance a pet chicken. a pet chicken. 

i remember there was a slight surge of those types of fics where lance would have real like farm based animals as pets and im like.... uhhhh... okay lmao

some of these like.. had worse impacts than others (i.e. the family stuff mostly. especially with the homophobia and bad latino dad tropes. and lance being demonized and made to look more aggressive than he is in canon most def) but all of these legit like... really inspired and created a lot of Bad Fics afterwards and a lot of bad art/hcs on tumblr too blaghhhh
