i have a headcanon that rubyleah both get more confident in themselves and become stronger women because they can be there for each other and relate but their sisters both have a MASSIVE CRISIS about their lil sisters growing up and that's why SarahDia start talking about things outside of SS and Aqours! Mutual empty nest syndrome lol

Some friends and I actually discussed this in a server a couple of days ago!

Dia reaches out to Sarah first because she’s more protective of Ruby, and well, the only other person she knew that had one: a little sister and two: a person who had a close connection to Ruby’s girlfriend. So after Ruby and Leah beg their sisters to stop supervising them during dates, Dia and Sarah hit off a pretty strong friendship because they can relate to each other. 

Of course, Sarah helps Dia out with encouraging Ruby to be independent since she’s the more tolerant older sister of the two. Ruby and Leah can’t express how much thanks they have for Sarah getting Dia off their backs.
