It's really funny to see where we go when a year passes! From non-suiter who thinks he's 'less cringe' than other furries (as a coping method to being early in to the furrification process) to a full on dude who fursuits and probably is about to make a touch of yiff.

Funny how stuff changes as we get older! I've started to give way less shits and thus have become free-er than ever to do whatever my little otter brain drags me to do. If anything, it's given me a touch of confidence too, confidence to just live it up and stop caring if someone thinks it's cringe or weird.

I also had a friend who egged on my creation skills with 3D printing and kinda made me confident enough to do it. Plus going to Aquatifur with them was a huge wake-up moment that made me really go "I see why people like this, I think I need it too". Shoutout to @kabandcoyote for pushing me to keep on it.

Although, instead of being the 'suspiciously wealthy furry with a $10K fursuit', I just decided to make it myself. At least old Civ would probably respect that part.

YAY OC ASK TIME!! I actually answered this on the app and tumblr poofed it. So im going to reanswer the questions again lol. Its going to be a long one so BUCKLE UP CUS HERE WE GO!

If they were an animal what animals would they be?

Sephtis would be a black cat 🐈‍⬛, Izara a bunny 🐇, Benny an otter 🦦 and I have really introduced him to the blog yet and gotten into his character, but Dante would be a dog 🐶 specifically a Jack Russell

2. Do they have any siblings? hows their relationship with family?

I love this question and I will get more into detail with all of my ocs in another post or in their character page (when i create one :3)

Sephtis has an older sister (three years older). They both have a good relationship with their mother, but a terrible one with their father. Their dad actually cut ties with them because they are both (according to him) "a disgrace to the company and family name" he ended up giving the company to their cousin because neither of them wanted to inherit their fathers company, nor cared about his business lol. Their father was never really there for them, their mother practically had a facade the entire marriage & fought so much for Seph and his sister to live "normal lives" as nepo babies (lol) they were pretty popular in school because of their bg which they hated. Their parents divorced Sephs senior year of hs and at that time is when his dad cut ties w him as well.

Izara is an only child. She has a good relationship with her parents. They're more on the traditional side & older people, so sometimes they dont see eye to eye, especially when she was in Junior High & High school. Izara's interests concerned them (literally just regular interests teenagers have that freak out ethnic parents bc they need theyre becoming demons or some shit lol) also didnt like that she loved art and wanted to be an artists/art curator. Eventually though, they understood that they cant control what their daughter does with her future and that is all up to her ( I think they left her alone more so because they realized she is successful in her art and modeling career).

Benny is the youngest of 4. He has 3 sisters. His relationship with his parents was really shitty growing up, sadly. He is gay & hes known that for his whole life. Having 3 sisters and being the only boy, he loved to play with dolls. His parents being very religious, seeing him play with dolls, was not something they liked. Even if he was just playing with his sisters. In school, he was bullied. There was name calling and rumors that spread around about him. His parents hated the rumors and name calling not because it hurt Benny, but because it makes them look like bad Catholics. Benny truly only had his sisters and other female friends by his side throughout school. It wasnt until high school where things seemed to change for the better. This especially were better because he had Sephtis. His parents have come around, but they def took their time to finally accept their son.

3.Where are they from? do they speak another language?

Sephtis is from Osaka, Japan (Mt. Komorebi) then moved to Los Angeles at age 4 (Del Sol Valley). He speaks English and Japanese!

Izara is from New York (San Myshuno), shes Ethiopian-American. She speaks English and Amharic.

Benny is from Quebec (have no idea what sim world would be considered Canada lol) He speaks French & English

Okay so Sephtis & Izara are afraid of movie characters LMAO Sephtis will forever be afraid of Kayako (The Grudge) movie he watched as a kid with his sister that scarred him as a child ksfkksfks. Izara specifically does not like the older Godzilla (model?? costume??) she thinks its ugly and creepy as fuck like literally nightmare looking ass creature. IS THIS NOT JUST CREEEPY TO U???

Ok I wouldnt say Benny's is stupid....hes afraid of bugs specifically roaches. I mean logically, hes bigger than them so he can step on them and kill them, but he just finds them super fucking gross that he cant bring himself to do that lol.

Sephtis' fave band is BUCK-TICK, Fave genre is Rock (I'll keep it broad because he loves a toe=ne of sub rock genres).

Izara's fave artist is PinkPantheress! For groups, she likes New Jeans, Aespa & Perfume (yes she listens to kpop/jpop). Fave genre is pop for sure!!

Okay well, I want to share a little about Seph and Benny's relationship rq!! So they went to the same high school. Sephtis is a year older than Benny. Their paths didnt officially cross until Sephtis' senior year and Benny's junior year of high school. They met one day after school when it was raining, Benny didnt have an umbrella but sephtis did :) thats all ill say for now :3

#696 is delightfully, wonderfully, holy-shit-I-didn't-realize-how-little-art-I-had-of-him-what-the-fuck Hero of Wind and Voices, Tarim 'Laqir' Nakoshima, chosen Hero of Kharos! Pictured here as his recolor.me from 2020, a very bad drawn image from 2014, and a base art from 2012. As you can see, he's always had Generic Anime Protagonist brown hair and green eyes, and has always had that bright-red and bright-cyan motif around him.

When @castcuraga decides he is ready to open commissions, I will give him somewhere between 150-300$ CAD and he will do a fully painted picture of Tarim for me, and it will be glorious, and it will force me to draw a full reference of him, which tbh he really needs.

I know I said 'a few facts'. You're getting a fucking infodump and you will like it, Tsuko-my-dear, because Tarim is one of my oldest OCs, and if I'm not mistaken, my oldest OC that I still use. I think... I'm pretty sure the only older OC that I have is Tranq (Shadow Tranquility is her full name, and I have no idea if she's ever coming back, I won't rule it out).

Tarim has been with me for over a decade, and I love him, and he deserves the world. He was the protagonist for Vocal Paradise, my very first NaNoWriMo novel in 2012. I won that year. I was so proud of myself. He came back for 2017 in Starlight ~ Beginning of the End, which I should reread because the only info I apparently put on NaNo itself was "tarim has to leave the vamps because shit blew up, naitofiara is there," so 10/10, me.

2018, Firstlight ~ The Cultist's Blade opened with "Tarim Nakoshima is dead, the Reihe having consumed him after a Fragment left him in the wrong timeline. [..] Thus, a new group of Twilight Warriors must be chosen." Three years later, Tarim makes his as-of-right-now final appearance in 2012 with Dragonsword ~ His Last Night's Requiem as not only the owner of the titular requiem, but "Not so long after the initial fall of Kagiru Network, two strange young men appear in the middle of the Salem Academy courtyard. One looks Tarathiel Draconis in the eye, tosses her the necklace he had around his neck, and fades to nothingness." which is a pretty metal way to die.

So, now that I've established Tarim's been around for fuckin ages and likes haunting the narrative, who is he?

Tarim is Maradeim! Originally called the Cherchant, which is French for 'searching', because when I was 12 I was learning French so a great deal of the language made it into my writing. The Maradeim are from Ilya Loremmi, the oldest of my original worlds (and very much still a part of the Aethel!), and specifically from the city-state of Isuparingu, which I think is a google-translated-romaji corruption of 'inspiration'? Anyway, they were birthed by the goddess Ivonnu, who's still around, in a fight with her sister Ikuto, who is also still around as Kharos' daughter and being pissy in the woods.

What makes the Maradeim different from ye average elf? Uh, they're grey? Yeah, I know, good question.

Maradeim have been established to be Pretty Rare, so you don't see 'em much outside Isuparingu, and almost never outside the Lorem as it is. Four of the Detan Burata - Zona, Seikyoru (who you may know better as Athena Cykes), Myn, and Rokichi - are Maradeim. To date, Tarim is the only named, non-DB Maradeim character I currently have. (There's two others in my records, Felix and Jaycinda, but I highly doubt they'll ever reappear. I would have to totally rework them, and changing names and designs for characters who didn't have more than that is just making new characters.)

Tarim has average brown hair, spearmint green eyes, gunmetal gray skin, and a jawline sharp enough to slice a man alive. He stands 5'9", would probably be called an otter if he were in a gay bar, and from what I can tell, is the Most Average Maradeim To Ever Maradeim.

He doesn't have parents. Why doesn't he have parents? Dunno. The very first iteration of Vocal Paradise was actually a story my first soulbond, Iban, told me about growing up in the desert. He was making shit up because he was babysitting his younger brother, but I still took it for inspiration. Eventually I moved Tarim to Ilya Ustuxe, I think in 2017 for Starlight, where he actually was an illegal immigrant, worked as a veterinarian for horrors that come out of the woods, and promptly had a super-gay romance with the king, Morcair Rakshara.

Tarim's role has always been that of Protagonist, when he appears; and if he does appear as the Mentor Who Dies, it's because of how his powers and prophecy have always worked.

The oldest prophecy I've ever written was the Prophecy of the Five Heroes, in various forms, and the kicker to it is that people have tried to fulfill it, and crucially, they failed. There's been three generations of Heroes: the first was the Bringers of Hope, the second was the Crafters of Balance, and the third is the Challengers of Fate.

The Bringers of Hope failed so badly that none of them have ever even appeared in any written works: the only thing left of them is their titles, and the fact that they failed. (I know their names, though, and their relationships with each other. Hehehe.) The Crafters of Balance was Tarim, Nyktophotia, Elrua, Akui, and Ikane; who were all actively written out of the narrative when their powers overwhelmed them. They still haunt the narrative. The Challengers of Fate are Tarathiel, Kinefira, Ezra, Saga, Tessa, and Leilahi.

You'll notice that there's six challengers, whereas only five of the other two. Really wonder why the first two groups failed, folks...

Regardless. Tarim is the OG Hero of Voices, and his main magical power is to command the three Alyvian spellsongs - the Reihe, Sterben, and Lautlos - and to reshape the world of travel, Ilya Serina, to his will. He begins using the Sterben, and eventually the Reihe, and only once uses the Lautlos. Contrary to Tarathiel, who primarily uses the Lautlos and sometimes the Sterben, and only uses the Reihe when she purifies her own heart.

Tarim has always been the protagonist, and his job is to be dragged through the Serin into varying parts of the wilderness of the Aethel by the plot, being pissy the entire time and befriending a bunch of animals, sometimes being dragged around by a girl who is supposed to be his love interest and who he doesn't give two shits about. The only person he's shown any romantic interest in was Morcair, who he died on very purposefully and who he kept a lot of secrets from. Morcair's pretty bitter about it, and helps out the Challengers only for Tarim's memory. Lmao.

You'll notice, though, that right up top I said that Tarim goes by Laqir. This is because while I knew from the start what his name was, he has never willingly given his name to another person in his entire fucking life. Seriously. If he weren't sorted under the Ts, I wouldn't have told you his name was Tarim. In my actual files where all his art is, he's listed under Laqir. When I make the wiki, he'll be listed under Laqir as well, and his actual name will only be in the sidebar.

When I write him, he always and only uses he/him pronouns, and only gets named in the narrative after someone asks him his name onscreen, and he has to give it. The first time he did in Starlight (because tbh I barely remember all the shit that happened in Vocal Paradise), it was to Morcair. Tarim panicked, glanced around outside the carriage they were in, saw a road sign for Laqir Lane, and told him his name was Laqir.

What fuckin name was he going by before the shattering of the Aethel? Gods only know. It sure fuckin' wasn't Tarim.

Why he has this issue, I have no idea. But he won't give you his name, just Laqir, and gods only know if Nakoshima is his actual surname either. Prob'ly not. I have no idea why he was orphaned in the desert. He got to Ilya Ustuxe by being a stowaway on a ship as a teenager and is Super Illegally There, but fuck you he's Laqir Nakoshima, consort to the King and Hero of Voices, no one is going to be asking for his passport.

The red/blue thing he's got is something he famously shares with Nyktophotia: that's actually an Alyvian thing, and they both have it through their use of the spellsongs. Tarathiel only does that when she's actively using her powers, and Kinefira simply refuses to use the spellsongs so she doesn't get to be special.

Tarim is a grumpy, generous guy honestly. Dislikes being personable, dislikes being dragged into shit, a very Bilbo-like character tbh? Genuinely very loving, absolutely atrocious at trusting people. Super reliable, though, and has an interest in chemistry.

Tarim is also the actual owner of the Kharosian stronghold on Ilya Kava, as well as a low mansion on a phantom island in Ilya Ustuxe. He stored most of his personal stuff in the Ustux, and most of his Hero stuff in the Kav. The Challengers use his stronghold in the Kav as their primary base of operations in the Aethel, since they don't reeeeaaally want to go to the Ustux and deal with Morcair's grief over Tarim, but Tarim himself is still haunting both of these places in what fragments of consciousness he's managed to plant in them, so he's all smug about that.

It'd be nice to go back and write a few stories for him, tbh. It's been a while, and most of the things he's done in Sagiverse sum up to angrily being written out of the narrative onscreen to pass the mantle to Tarathiel. We should go see what he was up to before that.

hey thank you and sorry it took me a few days to get to this so i hope you see it, but yes! read more for an explanation of our crazy life atm --

im currently balancing a lot for our business as it's growing quickly and we currently travel a lot -- we basically (usually) have 1-2 cons a month and generally have a few weeks at home to recover, make new products, restock, work on patreon, etc as well as tax season was happening (our first year filing taxes for the business! we actually made profit but like 22,000 went into products like charms, prints, scents, travel, lodging etc so it's like...getting there if that makes sense, we make enough to live but still have a family unit so we're "making money" enough to do this full time, but we have to travel a lot as we build our online brand, and start to really make a profit to where we don't have to travel as much) --

i know this is long-winded but i hope it makes sense to my absence not being lack of interest, im literally surrounded by fandoms all the time at cons, have to watch anime now for a living bc we have so many series to catch up with -- a lot of times i am traveling 11-38 hour drives and i am doing those drives in 1-2 days. minimal breaks, minimal sleeping, all so we can get there and back efficiently (i drive safely, i just have an insane amount of stamina idk i can't explain it)

on top of that, we have four animals and take care of our (otter's) grandma who is getting older, so this job is ideal to take care of her, and we are just under two years in, so we're still babies in the industry despite otter's immense experience and talent. to allow otter to draw all the time, which is a huge bulk of our draw, profit, and the reason we are even doing cons (thus me doing scents, etc), i take care of the house which means cooking, cleaning, driving, etc. i am also the only active driver of our house. i also have my mother in kentucky as i am an only child, and she has some issues that require a lot of attention when she is not able to participate in reality, but she is stable now so i am trying to work on our relationship and be active in her life as she also supports us when we have emergencies.

i have a lot on my plate. we are making a manga still, which is being requested heavily, and my scents and soaps are taking off, so my time is split a lot, as well as trying to write fanfic to help me better write a full story start to finish, so im really stretched thin, but i really really love you all, so im so sorry and i am planning to return !!!!!

Neuvi IS detached! like i said in the post, he feels alienated and as an outsider despite spending 400+ years as fontaine's high judge, and he struggles to connect. he is accused in main of story by one character of being non-feeling, of only caring about the laws, and the overall impression he leaves on strangers is of imposing and overly formal, when in fact, he isn't human and he doesn't express emotions in the same way as humans do. he is a hydro dragon, so it literally rains when he's sad, while he has stone-cold calm face. the reason we're going feral is that despite not really understanding humans and feeling like an outsider, he is still compassionate to both humans overall AND to the useless archon who literally holds part of his own stolen power (gnosis are confirmed as dragon's power stolen and neuvi says if he wants to have the full power of hydro sovereign, he'd need to take it from the archon).

his name is based on the myth of a dwarf who turned into otter, and otters in genshin have the same coloration scheme as neuvi, so its widely acknowledged joke that he's an otter. so bc i don't want to type as his long as name in the tags every time, i just tag him as "otters" lmao

also i do think all the memes of like comparing neuvi and furina to zhongli and hu tao and like two dragon pee pas suffering is funny, in reality neuvi is very young. dragons live for thousand of years, 500 years is not old for a dragon\immortal. nahida is 500 and she's a literal toddler.

Currently Watching: atm it's the Vancouver Aquarium sea otter livecam bc my mom left it running on the TV, but usually when I need comfort(like I have for the last few weeks) I watch markiplier videos—especially the 3 Scary Games series or The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe(I use that one to fall asleep)

Current Obsession: I actually have to take a chill pill when my mental health isn't great —which is the state of my brain atm— and I can only focus on "Safe" things (like Pokemon or Stardew Valley) & I have to keep a distance from fandom stuff; like I can read fic for ff7 but I can't...dive too deep I guess? Usually I daydream about my OCs for various fandoms & have comfort characters, but it affects my sense of self & identity bc I imagine myself as my OCs. Tbh this is something I've been doing for years as an escapism/coping mechanism thing, to the point that I have a hard time just being Me and also struggle with knowing who I actually am as a person instead of the persona I craft. So uh...yeah, I'm taking a step back from things and just trying to exist more in the real world despite how bleak my actual future looks bc im a NEET who doesn't drive & relies HEAVILY on their parents & honestly can't imagine how tf they'll survive without the support/safety net of said parents.

...yeah my brain is not doing well atm, but I'll be okay...eventually :/

I think it’s going to get worse... next season benn will be another year older, cashing in and still protected by a NMC with performance that is falling off a cliff. He’s racking more mistakes than points. There’s some rookies to be excited about... if they dont get chewed up by the ‘stars hockey’ system which knocks the shine off offensive guys and has them turtling. I tried to be patient, and sure I expected and accepted Bones would get a re-sign after the playoff run... but I want him gone. He’s making subpar line choices, calling time outs at bad times, or not calling them at good opportunities. He makes too many excuses instead of lighting a fire under their asses, some of the guys are looking lazy out there, and I think Comeau alluded to that in his interview. I love klingy but he is turning the puck over so much, its brutal. I wish Saint Perry was still around, I think he left a gap. Everyone is waiting for Segs to return & be McDavid... and Im not sure they’re going to get that, plus Bish is still an unknown. Great history... but he’s getting older and he’s had quote a few injury problems over time. I dont see any easy way out for a few years. 🥺

With all of these guys and their mistakes, fatigue is setting in and it's going to happen to all of them.

This schedule is brutal. It's taxing mentally and physically. They're gonna look slow and sluggish at some points but every guy out there is doing all that he can to help the team. They're exhausted.

I don't agree with you about Jamie. He plays his ass off out there. He's getting shots on goal, he's hitting, he's winning faceoffs, he's their captain. The difference may not show in points all of the time but they're better with him than without him.

I hate to admit that at times I miss Corey Perry. I know he made an impact in the locker room and we need that pesky net front presence that he always brings.

And yeah, Seguin coming back is not going to solve all of their problems. It's going to take time for him to catch up. I don't have high expectations for him but I know he'll do all that he can to help. Although I wish they'd just have him sit out this season and come back strong for next season but they'll never be able to keep him away.

Honestly, I have way more faith in Otter and Dobby than I do in Bish.

This team has a lot of potential so that's what makes this all so frustrating. We've seen what they can do. We know what they're capable of. The execution is not there. This is a hard season to judge everything by. Not using that as an excuse. I just hope the future will be better.

“Miss Stainton,” said Professor Bunce, laying her fork aside. “I think you very fortunate in your patroness. Lady Fiona’s attention to your wishes and consideration for your comfort appears…quite remarkable.”

Simon could see the sardonic glint in her eye, but Miss Stainton did not appear to detect it.

“Indeed, Madam, indeed!” Miss Stainton cried. “I have never in my life witnessed such behaviour in a person of rank—such affability, such condescension! She was graciously pleased to approve of both of the sermons which I had the honour of preaching before her, and she has also asked me twice to dine at Pitch Manor! Why, she sent for me only last Saturday, to make up her pool of quadrille in the evening.”

“Very kind,” murmured Professor Bunce.

“She is reckoned proud by many, I think, but I have never seen anything but affability in her. She has always spoken to me as she would to any other lady. I flatter myself she sees something of herself in me.”

“Mmmmm,” said Professor Bunce.

“I dare say she is a very agreeable woman!” cried Mr. Bunce. “It is a pity that great ladies in general are not more like her.”

“She was a noted vampire hunter in her time as well, I believe,” said Professor Bunce.

“Did you know her, Mama?” said Penny, startled.

“We have never met,” said Professor Bunce. “But her older sister, Lady Natasha, was the mistress of Watford College when I was at Oxford.”

“Lady Natasha?” said Penny. “The one who found a cure for gnomeatic fever?”

“The very same!” said Miss Stainton. “Their family is renowned throughout England!”

“I have not met Lady Fiona, however,” said Professor Bunce. “She had already gone to China to study the martial arts by then, I believe.”

“Lady Natasha Pitch is a legend,” said Penny, her eyes glowing.

“Pitch?” said Simon. “Is she any relation to the Mr. Pitch at Netherfield?”

“There is a Mr. Pitch here?” said Miss Stainton, pricking her ears like a foxhound with a scent.

“Yes, he is staying with his friend, Mr. Shepard, who has so honoured our Penelope with his attentions," said Mr. Bunce. Penny looked down, turning her napkin over in her hands. “Why, did you know he has five thousand a year?"

“But Mr. Pitch, my dear sir?" prompted Miss Stainton, apparently uninterested in anyone so little connected to her patroness.

"Oh, yes, him," said Mr. Bunce. "Mr. Tyrannus Basilton Grimm-Pitch, I believe his name was.”

“Why, that is her ladyship’s nephew!” cried Miss Stainton. “What a coincidence, that you should be blessed by a member of Lady Fiona’s family!”

“Yes, so blessed,” muttered Simon, and Penny kicked him under the table.

Ok here is my lemon fanfic headcanons that no one, ever, asked for & no one should ever ever read

Eren & Levi both think they are ‘vers tops’ but really they are both 100% ‘vers bottoms.’ Like they pretend they want to be giving, they act like that is their goal - but really they each enjoy being on the... recieving end a lot more. They dont even enjoy being ‘power bottoms’ either, its just a constant battle of who can ‘convince’ the other to bottom because the like the IDEA of being dominant, but baby... they really aren’t dominant. they’re very confused to say the least.

Levi is the guy who is into twinks but hates it about himself because he never wants to be a pedophile. In a modern au he’d be the grindr guy who 100% asks every 18-20 yr old twink he hooks up w/ to show him their ID - he needs proof they aren’t 16-17. And its not hes even doing it to avoid legal repercussions, hes just disgusted by the idea of hooking up w/ a minor... but... this unfortunately means he admits to himself he is attracted to 16-17 year olds. Whoops. also i headcanon that he was molested as a kid, and hes convinced himself his attraction to young guys is because of this, and he HATES this about himself. Regardless or not if its true, makes him really sensitive & actually really kind person in bed cuz he’s constantly afraid of abusing power. Oh and if i were to pick a tribe he’d 100% be a ‘daddy’. Dapper/sophisticated older guy, pretends to be dominate, likes taking care of his partner/etc, but is stoic/blunt & doesnt take shit. hes educated but not geekily so. He’s super fit/in shape but not “lean” by any means, so ig a fit/functional “dad bod”.. like i just see Levi caring about the functionality of his body, not counting calories & cutting so his abs are cut. Tribe wise... Eren THINKS he is twunk, reality is he’s a lanky otter. Like 18-21 yr old Eren was a twink, 100%, but 25+ eren is an ‘otter’. He’s pretty lean & tall, kinda lanky, body hair (i mean look at Grisha and Zeke, its genetic) Tries to shave & stuff but always kinda scruffy and looks like a hobo. Mr. man bun but only cuz hes too lazy to cut his hair, he would not care enough to be a hipster or geek or whatever. This is 100% a projection of my own desires but - i honestly don’t think Eren has a set “type”, he likes people that challenge him & are stronger/smarter than him but regard him as their equal. Another self-insert headcanon but, i think he prefers men & tends to lean to slightly older/stocker/more fit ppl like Reiner and Levi, but he’s also bi and will fall for a girl if they can meet him & challenge him were he is at? (Aka Historia) unfortunately, eren is unstable and unconciously enjoys “mental battles” between him and his partner, which is horrible - but he really would do anything for you.

Also i 10000000% acknowledge that 1) tribes are bullshit and as a mostly-gay guy im constantly working on... overcoming? The need to label and objectify myself. And 2) top/bottom is also bullshit, but people can lean to one side? Of course it can all depend on context too, and ya know, normal people, not-fanfic-characters, tend to mix it up.

Ok, so, originally this was gonna just be a million fuckin questions, and it'll prooooobably turn into one of those question chains from several months ago. BUT to start I think I can do just like, three. First, tell me ALL about the area in Norway where Jelani was growin up, absolutely anything and everything you can think of about it. Secondly, tell me ALL about babby Jelani! Again just anything and everything you can think of! Lastly, how exactly do those magic weapons work? :o Like, once they're made can anyone grab them? Can he only have one at a time? Stuff like that! Basically just use this as a chance to talk about all those things! :3

So Jelani was born and raised near what is known as Hammerfest today (woohoo subarctic climate!). Honestly he’s been everywhere and just about seen everything but nothing compares to when he was growing up in that area and watching the Aurora Borealis with family and friends in a comfortable silence while just taking it all in, ya know? Being born in 870 CE meant there was no light pollution so every night the sky always lit up and the stars were so shiny and there were millions and millions of them which was absolutely insane to see and had a lot of significance because of his mom’s culture and their relationship to the stars.

They were close to the coast so there was a lot of fishing and sailing. He was also partial to that area because it was close to the sea and close enough to the mountains where it felt like a happy in between. He’s not a fan of being too far from some source of water. That place was perfect as he could see all kinds of sea dwelling animals like whales and seals, squids though he’s not a fan, he’s kind of scared of squid especially the really big ones he saw every once in a while. He especially liked puffins as a kid since he thought they were kinda silly. Inland he saw his fair share of reindeer, foxes, bears, wolves and otters which he completely fell in love with and still loves as an adult. Show him pictures or videos of otters and he’ll melt, if he sees one irl he’ll practically die from the amount of cute. There were also the more supernatural creatures though he mostly grew up around a lot of werewolves.

Oh! And sure, he’s not a big fan of the sun but even he has to admit that the midnight sun is pretty impressive and beautiful in its own right. It was gorgeous to see it and he did enjoy walking around in the middle of the night and still see the sun out.

Also, despite the location, he was exposed to a lot of different people as the village was flagged as a safe area which saw a ton of traders and all were welcome regardless of who you were or if you were human or non-human. He saw everything and interacted with all sorts of people from the local Sámi People, Middle Eastern, Asian and even other African people. And after his mom found out her family were still alive and well they’d also visit each other when they could. Honestly, his upbringing was kinda fairy tale like.

qasdxcfgbhn well, Jela as a little kid was always hanging around his parents, grandparents and especially his brother. Since Loke’s 13 years older than him Loke often watched him and played with him a lot, he wasn’t even asked to he just did it because baby brother. Like the instant Lo first saw him it was like love at first sight type of shit. He learned to speak clearly very early on which surprised everyone at how clear and structured his speech was for a kid so young and then they learned he was a very fast learner and really smart and was always curious and asking tons of questions.

Even since he was little he really loved animals so he was always seen chasing after them or somehow petting them and playing with them. Learned to ride and care for horses pretty fast and when he got his own it was like fireworks went off in his head. Even in present day he sees a horse and it’s like instant childhood memories flooding him. Btw his first horse was a mare he named Dagny, just like his ball python in modern times lol, it was a Fjord with a grey coat and a two tone mane and he loved her to bits. Aside from that there was the family dog named River because she loved to swim. He also liked cats but they didn’t have a cat because Loke was scared of them and Sanaa (for different reasons related to another creature) wasn’t fond of them. They don’t hate cats but they’d rather just keep ‘em at arm’s length.

Then teen Jelani who was...I don’t wanna use the word difficult because he wasn’t but let’s just say different for lack of a better word. It was around this time that he was realizing he wasn’t like his family and it actually hurt ‘im a lot. Especially since his mom was an arcane berserker and it was like a huge deal so they all thought he was gonna be one too. So in come the feelings of alienation and the doubts and the semi angst and the moodiness. He was never disrespectful to anyone but he was often moody and often felt down. Around this time he was also learning he had some unique abilities of his own that no one else had and since no one else had them he learned to control them but not without incidents. Not to mention that since he was very little he could see and hear and talk to things that no one else could really see. Some were friendly and others weren’t. Mix in the regular hormonal shit teenagers go through during puberty and it made for a bit of a mess. This kind of “weakened” him and his old self (which he nor anyone else knew of) was starting to rear in and it was kind of scary. He was actually fluctuating between his old personality which was chaotic af and his present self and both seemed to clash a lot. Once this started happening the migraine attacks and the nosebleeds began as well as the sleep paralysis, night terrors, insomnia and the nyctophobia and they all seemed to hit him really hard and suddenly. So all of that mixed in made the ages of 13 through 17 really, really fucking messy.

But family and friends were with him through it all and at 17 and a half he chilled out and learned to control himself and managed to suppress his old self. He’d learned to use and handle his abilities responsibly, still felt a little out of place but his family was sure to always let ‘im know they loved him no matter what and his grandfather especially let him know that his differences weren’t a bad thing and that they made ‘im special. By 18 he was back to his cheerful old self though sometimes he still felt bad about being different but didn’t let it get him down. However, he now had to cope with migraine attacks, night terrors, nyctophobia, random nosebleeds, insomnia and sleep paralysis which he still has even in present day.

Okay so berserkers are non-humans that have the ability to summon powerful weapons and very sturdy armor from nothing thin air. The armor can take a beating but if they get targeted by a barrage of attacks the armor can break and they’d have to summon the armor again but there’s a cool down of about half an hour so it’s better to hang on to the armor even if broken or get your ass to safety. The weapons don’t break though. Oh and if an armor broke and they summon it again it’ll show up as good as new. Berserkers can summon up to two different weapons so which ones they summon depends on the person’s taste and comfort level.

These weapons can be summoned and dematerialized at will and have no cool down. Anyone can grab them if the berserker it belongs to doesn’t mind though why would a berserker use another one’s weapon unless they wanna be offensive and kill ‘em with their own weapon? It’s not offensive, more like yikes.

Now, since Jelani isn’t a berserker he managed to figure out a way to mimic berserkers’ ability to summon a weapon from thin air though unlike grown up berserkers he isn’t limited to just two types of weapons. For example Loke is able to summon a two headed axe and a bow, nothing more nothing less. Jelani can summon whatever he wants as he can manipulate the shape. His mom’s tribe are partial to glaives so he mainly uses a glaive. His weapons however are made of an unknown material that’s insanely hard and impossible to even crack. His weapons can’t be wielded by anyone other than himself bc as soon as someone else touches them they dematrerialize. It also looks weird, like it’s so dark it swallows all light and no light bounces off of it. He can’t summon armor though so that’s where the blacksmith comes in. His uncle Jørgen made his look like his dad’s and his mom’s.
