This is Spider-Star!! They're from Earth-2008 !! they were bitten by a spider that had been infected by chemicals from a meteor nearby where they had been stargazing and BING BOOM BAM!! SPIDER-STAR!!!!!!!!!!

Their suit was designed by their mom!!! Part of their canon event was traveling to Hobie's universe by accident after accidentally opening a rift to Earth-138, which is what caused the goopy voids that now surround them

The necklace and red scarf on their suit were both gifts from Hobie after the incident, and thought it's a little hard to tell in the picture, their suit also has the eyes decorated like stars!!!! their mom made the original suit, too, but the other half of the canon event was their mom following Lee to Earth 138 after the rift was formed in their basement, leading to her unfortunate passing, as her body could not handle the travel

i've thought about this more and i want to add that i think it's hard (for me) to be a miguel simp when hobie brown is right there. these two are diametrically opposed in terms of personality (which has always been the most important factor in driving my attraction) and frankly, i align a lot more with the way hobie moves within the world (deeply antiauthoritarian, justice-seeking, community-oriented) than with the way miguel moves through the world (i say this with all the love in my heart but miggy's kinda a despot?? i mean im not knocking it i just don’t think it’s for me) this is probably why rocket wins all my love & affection at the end of the day. he's the perfect blend.

where to begin

miguel o’hara is hot and there is a lot of super-steamy fanfiction about him from so many amazing writers. like, ur girl dae is consuming a LOT of it. love a fictional dude with a ridiculously stupid 8:1 shoulder-to-waist ratio (the size kink is real). and that VOICE.

and yet. miggy is absolutely someone who should be my (fictional) type, at least based on my history. but somehow… he’s very low on my list in general

i’m not sure why (though i have a list of possibilities, i haven’t exactly thought critically about this before). i suspect it has something to do with the way we deal with trauma. i can feel a lot more empathy for someone who turns their unhealthy coping mechanisms inward versus someone who turns them outward. my boy miggy trying to bend the multiverse to his will & manipulate/control a league of spiders just doesn’t get my emotional motor running

(actually the more i think about this the more i’m like “is miggy a cult leader???”)

it may also have to do with the fact that all my big sister energy (and there is a LOT, surprising no-one) is fully-activated in defense of miles morales. miguel o’hara hurt the baby
