See Frieren x Himmel is canonically doomed and that's part of the overall narrative, Frieren will outlive almost everyone she ever meets but she slowly starts to build more and more relationships in spite of that and Himmel was one of the biggest catalysts in her changing in this way

But they also have this "this is how it can still win" vibe to it because Frieren is literally traveling to the afterlife specifically to visit Himmel, and along the way she's changing and very slowly embracing love in all these different forms from the people around her, one of which was from Himmel

So it's doomed but it still feels like they'll definitely have a happy ending too, it's an interesting dynamic

I think what fucks me up the most about the Malevolence arc is that at some level - that early in the war - the venerators have to have felt SAFE you know? It takes a lot to breach a venerator and even more to actually disable it. And it's one thing to know something isn't as safe as it feels but it's another to have that demonstrated. and then even the failsafes aren't safe because you can still be hunted. And you're impossibly vulnerable because all that's between you and a bad death are several inches of steel and glass.

IDK man I just keep thinking about the Malevolence and wonder if Boost, Sinker and Wolffe ever actually felt safe on a star ship again.

Thinking more about songs that fit the TADC characters and one that really hit me as Pomni's or Zooble's is Machine by Neoni if they start getting even more fed up with the whole circus, specifically Caine since he seems to cause them the most distress.

OOOOO.... i can see this yes...... on one hand i can see why a llot of ppl hope caine gets to have a good ending bc he is genuinely well meaning but also i am an adamant believer of pomni HATING caine and zooble disliking him heavily... i think often about the idea that i dont think its so unlikely that pomnis gonna snap on him some day. and it wont even matter bc he cant be hurt. physically, at least. i can definitely see this song fitting that... thank u!!!!
