I think it makes more sense that the Princes were pureblood – Snape naming himself "Half Blood Prince" indicates that he was the only half blood Prince — but half blood Princes growing on me alarmingly.. something about them not being included in the Sacred 28 because they married muggles whenever they fell in love, being into dark magic but actively against blood purism (which eventually got them killed) is so scrumptious to me. And would be refreshing from the bunch of "Pureblood Most Noble and Ancient *family name* aesthetic that people push into every single pureblood family in fanon. Also, it would tie nicely with Eileen leaving the Wizarding World: her family got targeted and killed for not supporting a rising Tom Riddle and she was scared the same would happen to her and her son unless they got out of the way

The way i imagine it is that losing part of a limb would be like breaking a bone: its a serious injury, but if treated properly, itll heal as if it never happened. but to account for people who don't have this headcanon, im sure there are some inkfish who just aren't able to regrow limbs at all because genetics, or if the injury is sustained in a certain way or isnt treated properly then it might not grow back properly or even at all.

So yes, if he couldn't grow his arm back he'd have a prosthetic, but I think that would effect his life—and his character— in ways that i hadn't planned. I didn't settle on cress losing his arm for The Plot until like 2021, but the concept of one of my inkfish ocs losing a limb and then regrowing it was something that wormed into my brain longgg ago. i have a superrrr edgy oc that i scrapped based around the concept, there's some drawings of verna missing his arm buried in my files... i even found this doodle from 2017 of "what if it grew back wrong" (under the cut, warning for body horror)

look up 96 armed octopus. i wanted to do something with cephalopod limb bifurcation... maybe someday ill work that into another character.

Just a doodle about the artstyle crisis I had a bit ago with his hair. It didn’t last long and I ended up going right back to drawing it how I usually do anyway, but it was an interesting concept to try. Maybe I’ll try it out again someday cause it looks nice, but ehhhh I just didn’t end up enjoying drawing it very much tbh (TwT ).

To pair with the first image, I drew Simon in his cursed era with short shorts too hehe :3. I also started adding little dark vein patterns to the curse in this doodle :O. I think it’s giving cursed a lot more than just the bloody scratchy patterns I usually draw.

I like to think that maybe if Simon succumbed to the curse he’d end up a vampire. I mean, it’d track with vampire folklore surrounding the vampires’ curse. There’s a lot of stories where the vampire, even when dead or buried, can still long distance drain and inflict someone with illness and the end stage of it is death and coming back as a vampire or other spirit/ghoul. Aughhhh I had a much better rant about this written before the crash but I just can’t replicate it properly aaaaaaa curse you memory problems (;_; ). I’ll have to rant about vampire folklore in a separate dedicated post eventually, it’s fun :)

This one I am also so proud of X]. I think this is my best depiction of the effects of the curse yet tbh. I had an explanation of the traits I usually depict it having before the crash, so I’ll try to make another one. First things first, it drastically affects the healing process. Things just don’t close up properly or at all in most cases. Old scars tend to open back up a lot easier and this is in part because of the second major effect: rotting. Rotting is a very explanatory word when it comes to physical ailments, implying decay or necrosis! It usually starts at the extremities or around the edges of wounds with skin darkening, bleeding, and either a dryness or wetness, then spreads inwards and downwards or through the blood to other areas. Especially in extreme cases, which I think 6 whole years qualifies for 💀. Simon would probably have very fragile skin in the most affected areas and long story short his hands and feet are probably raw most of the time yikes, ouch, this poor guy :(. I imagine that he probably has some kind of Belmont specific regenerative and resistant ability that’s kept him from dying from it for so long, since they are kinda implied to be a little superhuman in some way. Which is probably a blessing and a curse in itself because on one hand it did allow him to live long enough to fix the problem, but on the other hand that had to absolutely suck (haha, Drac haha). I’ve explained other elements of it in another older post now that I think of it, so I might have to gather all this stuff together and make a more in depth post about it cause it’s really neat to talk about :3! I had like a huge special interest as a kid for injury and disease cause I started making ocs and ran into a bunch of “how to write realistic injury” posts and I’m glad for it cause it comes back any time I’m writing or drawing something that requires that knowledge. :)

It's really good and has a side of deeper aspects with a relationship between an immortal and mortal person and themes of growing old and it's just lovely

-another good vampire webtoon is this absolutely based one is this silly one where it's 'vampire bf' except vampire bf is a classic old guy that lives in mansion instead of a twilight vampire, it's really wholesome and comedic and simple and cute :3

-i'm still hunting down more good vampire webtoons and then next I'll hunt down good ghost webtoons and also I'm hunting down good vampire mangas animes and light novels

-vampires as allegories my beloved!!! There's so many different concepts to be explored.

-vampire as autism allegory! Old timey shut in vampire lacking social understanding and struggling with disconnection from humanity and their identity as inhuman as well as a desire for human connection. Plus the whole bat thing!!! Being more connected with animals then humans and having different untraditional ways of expressing yourself

-vampires as allegory for chronic illness and various conditions, with a need to drink blood and undeadness framed as a medical condition. the way someone being turned to a vampire being seen as pityful and tragic in a way thats demeaning to the vampire turned being reminiscent of the reaction of people to someone being discovered to have a disability/illness. Plus there's that long going 'vampires just have iron deficiencies' thing

When i someday learn game development i really want to make a magolor fangame, infact when i became a kirby fan ive always wanted to make one. (so like... almost 3 years hoough). i havent got an idea about it but recently i wanted it to play like a fusion of Pizza tower (and wario-likes in general) and CAVE shmup games. And ive also drew a concept of the games main characters v

the little shit on the right is Bullseye, whos basically the polar opposite of Magolor (in like almost everything). Their first design dates back from september 2021 and changed their design over time

aAND AND im working on even more concepts and the plot/story of said fangame cuz i wanted to make it actually interesting..... so you can say im baking something because i really want this fangame to stand out of the other kirby fangames (which almost always use the ds sprites) and unique themes. i have been curious about your characters since I heard first about them! unfortunately, am a little shy talking online, but since now seems like the least bother-y time i'll take now not really 100% sure what to ask first, so I'll start with this: What different stories do you have going on right now? Or do you just have one large narrative? (by stories I mean anything from big projects to a little handful of guys who happen to be in the same place doing similar things) Either way, I'm interested in hearing any synopses, little details, or longform rants! I like hearing about others' ocs

But to answer your question! I have THREE stories I am currently working on! My motivation to work on them fluxuates on whatever im fixating on LOL but I realize I havent talked about them too much before so I might as well explain a little bit

Story #1: OUTCAST CHAOS !! It is my passion project and the most developed story (it turned 2 years old in January!) I'd like to make it a TV show or webseries some day! It is about a bunch of people finding themselves in a really weird game show, and discovering more about the weird little town they live in 🤔 this is indeed the story with Mic in it, LOL!! I'm literally in the process of planning entire seasons and episodes, hopefully I will get around to designing secondary characters soon HDKDHKDBD

Story #2: CORRUPTION (this is a placeholder title because I can't think of a better one, but I will someday istg) this is the story I've talked about the least on here unfortunately I just haven't gotten around to it, but you can see I tag the main characters in my oc tag a lot LMAO!! It's about a really nosy teen and the worlds saddest man having to deal with an evil sentient computer. It's a little dark but I've been really confident with story beats lately, id also like to do something with it! But I haven't been fixating on it like I was last year LOL

Story #3: MICROBIAL!! My most recent story and what my blog is currently themed to LOL its conception is so silly (it was an AU of an AU with my outcast chaos ocs that got turned into something both original and completely separate)!! It is both about the microbe apocalypse and about the very hectic relationship between two bisexual and mentally ill young adults. It's my current fixation (see how long that lasts) and I've been working hard on it since last October! I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with it yet but I know the internet is not immune to the microbez. Also Eve and garrett are from this story for anyone who's been paying attention to my incessant poll reblogs and my blog takeover on April fool's day

I have more OCs than just the ones in these stories, but they're basically all in metaphorical storage and I don't draw them much anymore. I'm really proud of my current works and I hope to tell people more about them soon! I unfortunately have a lot of anxiety, so I tend to just tell people major story stuff in private, but I'm trying to get out of my shell more! I have WAY too much info about like, all my OCs, I can answer basically anything you'd wanna know about any of the characters LOL

Inktober 2022: A reflection

However, it was remarkable good practice and I learned a lot! One might say you can see me improving 👀 It gets better, promise!

I’m torn bc on one hand the background is stunning, I love the colors. On the other hand, this would have looked too much better lineless, and the lens sky reflection is just lazy and doesn't fit with the rest of the style.

GHOST CRAB!! I downloaded some new brushes, and it was just sooo much fun. 

17. Meadow

I really like everything except the “flowers”. The clouds and background/foundation is solid, but the weird flower brush is too sharp and it just doesn't work. Also, the colors of the flowers are supposed to be in shade and idk man 

18. Examination

Now this one could make more sense, like perspective wise and the highlights are a bit wack. However, it's really cool and I like it a lot. The bluish tint for the glass, the goldish bronze, the background yes!!

19. Reflection

The poses for this kept just not working out. I couldn't get the angles, nothing made sense, so I made them silhouettes! And it works nicely. I like this one. I am kinda starting to overuse that background contrast thingy, but it's fiiiiiinnnne. Also, the curtain??? The red pops so well hello, its just bam, and it deserves to do that. 

20. Bullet

It's a bullet train! Get it? Anyway, I really like the burn effect for this one and I wanted to make it a spooky train. One thing I'd improve is how the likes are fading into the smoke, it doesn't look quite right.

22. Bones

This is kinda my burnout point and it shows. The line thickness is all over the place, I didn't work on this very much and just slapped some things on there and put it up. I'd love to draw a proper pile of bones someday, but this wasn't it.

23. Mutation

I do kinda like this one, and I don't have any major complaints. I just remember not really feeling doing Art™ at that time.

29. Wyvern

I sketched this the next day and was so normal about it. Idk if this is really a Wyvern, but it looks cool! I really like the frame and breaking it. It gives a nice break and depth!

My favorite bad hot take is when someone takes a complex mental health issue, draws a parallel to something they experience or have experienced, and then dismisses the concept completely as not existing for ANYONE. Some examples:

“ADHD isn’t real because I too have trouble concentrating when doing something I dislike or find boring.”

“Alcoholism isn’t an illness because all I needed to do was practice better self-control.” 

“Depression isn’t an excuse because when I was feeling down, I just got up and started again.”

Like, good for you dude. Glad that you didn’t get these extra problems in your life. Maybe someday you’ll realize that other people exist.
