Alternative prologue IkeVamp (picture)
Prologue
I am currently finishing writing a fragment of an alternative version of the IkeVamp prologue. I don't know why it was so important to me… So… Since this part is a bit different from the rest, I'll post it in a separate post.
I needed some visual to understand who was sitting where. But I cannot draw at all. You know, not all people are capable of this (yes, yes, I know, I'm just lazy). This is also not canonical, it just feels right…
Tumblr media
If you didn't recognize the guys on my undoubtedly talented drawing…
Comte
Leonardo (he wasn't at the table at the beginning… he's sleeping somewhere)
Theo
Vince (who else will Theo be sitting next to)
Wolfie (as far away from the others as possible… I should have drawn a longer table)
Jean (he's not present)
MC. I named her Jane. Full name is Jane Doe. This is a very appropriate name for a person who is in close proximity to vampires (if you not familiar with this term… this is how in England and in US called a corpse whose name is unknown. Yes, I'm this cynical).
Arthur (who else could be sitting next to Jane and across from Theo. They are just inseparable)
Isaac (poor boy, as always, stuck between Arthur and Dazai)
Dazai
Napoleon
Sebastian. I see him as a typical vampire's butler who always appeared behind the master's back as soon as he was called by name (if you don't know what I'm talking about, read Terry Pratchett).

Jane: YOU LET THEO DRIVE WHILE DRUNK?!?!!?
Arthur: In my defense-
Jane: NO! FUCK YOUR DEFENSE BECAUSE YOU DO NOT HAVE ONE! THERE IS NO DEFENSE OR EXCUSE FOR LETTING MY HUSBAND DRIVE WHILE DRUNK AND THEN HARASS WILL! HAVE I MADE MYSELF CLEAR, YOUNG MAN?
Arthur: *looks down sheepishly* Yes, ma’am…
Jane: GOOD! NOW STAND HERE AND THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU DID WHILE I GO AND GET MY DRUNK HUSBAND!
Jane: *walks away with a huff*
Arthur: She’s scary when she’s mad-
Dazai: *from his place in the bushes* Yeah, and it makes me regret following you because now I’m scared. Hold me?
Arthur: I love you Dazai, but not in that way-
Theo: I typed "bitch" into my GPS and guess what? I'm in your driveway.
Shakespeare: ...
Theo: Vroom vroom, come out already.

Appearance
Jane has long, bright red wavy hair that reaches the dip of her waist. She normally wears her hair up but, she’ll happily wear it down if Leonardo asks her too - though, he’ll normally tug it gently from it’s ribbons to run his fingers through it gently. She plaits her hair before bed, a task which Leonardo loves to perform for her even though - because of his large hands - he can’t manage to braid her long hair very neatly.
She’s petite, slender and delicate. Jane is particularly noted as having soft, delicate hands. She is full of chest, so much so that her breasts almost dwarf the rest of her small body. Her torso is rather short and she has long, slender arms and legs.
She is very pale - white, clear skin - Comte oft’ describes her as his “lovely little porcelain doll”.
Jane has clear, bright, green eyes. Her eyes are big and wide; people describe them as her best feature as they are the most captivating part of her heart-shaped, soft cheeked face.
She is incredibly hygienic and takes very good care of herself. Jane wears delicate perfumes that smell of flowers and vanilla, often gifted to her by Shakespeare though, she’ll never wear these scents around Leonardo as he gets rather jealous.
Fun Facts
It is absolutely love at first sight between her and Leonardo for the both of them. Jane admires Leonardo’s intelligence and care-free attitude (even if she is slightly put off by his somewhat brashness and perceived impoliteness). Leonardo adores Jane’s brain and the fiery self confidence that lies underneath her kind, demure exterior (and my god he just thinks she is the world’s most beautiful woman) ((and he likes the way her chest swells at the low neck line of her Tudor era dress)).
Being the oldest of her sisters, and with no brothers in her line, Jane received an education of the highest standard - Even higher than that of her cousins Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth. She is Leonardo’s equal in terms of intelligence and they match each other intellectually on a near-perfect level.
She plays the violin and the cello, with a particular talent for singing. She’s a top soprano though, she does get a little shy when singing in front of others. Leonardo often catches Jane singing as she writes or tends to the flowers and smiles so tenderly, picking up his violin and playing to accompany her which always makes her blush.
Jane adores the pet names that le Comte and Leonardo have for her. The first words le Comte said to Jane (after she came back as a vampire) were “Are you hurt, my pearl? Hush now, no need to worry, you’re safe.” Leonardo, Mozart, Arthur and Theo have sarcastically called her “Your Majesty” or “My Queen” or “Queen Jane” only to be met with Jane’s self assured, fiery demands for respect as she was indeed a monarch. Leonardo now calls her these things very seriously in intimate situations i.e., when they are making love or when she wakes up in his arms.
Jane is a skilled fencer. She probably can't out-duel Napoleon or Jean but she'll give them both a good run for their money. She also enjoys hunting though, not many of the residents if any take her up on her offer to go with her. Napoleon might occasionally go along though, just to humor her and to act as her protector.
Defining Life Events
Royal Coup & Reign
At only 15 years old, Jane was unwillingly pushed into a coup by the Privy Council and King Edward VI and made the first Queen of England. At first, when told of her new position, Jane burst into tears, falling to the floor at Syon House, proclaiming “This is not for me - The rightful Queen is Mary.” After being transported to The Tower of London by river, she began to gain confidence and self assurance in her Queenhood. She proclaimed and signed herself as ‘Jane, the Queene’ and crowned herself with the Crown jewels - Jane never enjoyed a coronation. In one of the first moves which turned support away from her (Duke of Northumberland), Jane refused to make her husband (Northumberland’s son)  King, only a Duke.
In an attempt to protect the tower once Princess Mary began her fight for the throne and hold onto her dwindling supporters, the Queen unknowingly imprisoned herself in the tower by locking up the fortress and taking the keys for herself; Jane never left the tower again. She was confident and self assured until the moment the crown left her head on the 9th and final day of her reign, and suddenly relieved and demure once it did, asking innocently, “Can I go home now?” Jane was promptly arrested and imprisoned in the tower, away from her royal apartments, and she was held there for the next 3 years. Her cousin, Queen Mary, tried desperately to protect Jane from execution, keeping her in confinement for as long as possible, however, Jane was to lose her head.
Execution & Turning
At the age of 18, after being found guilty of treason, Jane was sentenced to death by beheading at the Tower of London in 1554 - Queen Mary spared her from death by burning. She was distressed, as were her Ladies who found themselves unable to help her, meaning that Jane had to undress (Only down to her white underdress) and blindfold herself. She spoke to her executioner, “I pray that you dispatch me quickly,” and asked that he would not remove her blindfold once she placed her head on the block. She fumbled around, crying out in distress trying to find the block but no one helped her - Not her Ladies, not the executioner nor any officials.
Eventually, appalled by what he saw, le Comte de Saint Germain, who looked on from the crowd, rushed to Jane’s side to help her to the block. As she wept, shaking, le Comte whispered comforting words to her and stroked her back carefully, promising that she’d be safe. He knelt with her, guiding her to the block before biting her shoulder which was concealed from anyone looking by Jane’s bright auburn hair, turning her successfully before she was beheaded.
True to her kind nature, as she knelt at the chopping block after reciting a prayer and professing her devotion to God, Jane forgave her executioner. Jane is the only Monarch of England to ever die for her religion and became a protestant martyr.
In the aftermath of the execution, once the crowd and officials had left, le Comte took Jane’s body and head (separated) to a secluded corner of his mansion and sewed them back together, biting her once again to make absolutely sure that the turning process would be successful.
Jane doesn’t have a scar from the beheading / stitches and she doesn’t know that it was Comte who helped her to the block and comforted her before she died, but she often tells him that he has “Kind eyes” and that he reminds her of “Someone very dear” to her.

Reading a book right now where the male lead proposes to the main character with a ring made of human bone (freely donated, nothing underhanded) and courtesy of @ambrosiallkiss making the observation, I can't help but feel like this is exactly Faust's vibe.

Okay, I’ve seen posts of the reader getting jealous of the suitors’ wives if they came back, but now I’m just imagining it happening to Jane.
Like, she and Theo got engaged a little while ago and then BAM!; Theo’s wife when he was human, Johanna van Gogh-Bonger, has been resurrected as a vampire and is staying with Comte for a little while and ends up inevitably crossing paths with her former husband. And Jane is both fascinated and confused at this situation.
She didn’t know anything about Theo’s life when he was human apart from what he’d told her, and Vincent never said anything because they weren’t his stories to tell Jane. But, seeing Theo and Johanna interact after so long, very easily picking up conversations and such, Jane had to go to Sebastian to ask what history said about Theo’s relationship with Johanna.
And was Jane in for it then.
Sebastian told her that Theo was practically enamored with Johanna, wanting to marry her very soon after they met and trying to propose even after being rejected a few times. They even had a son that Theo named after his beloved brother who was only a year old when he’d died. In short, Theo very quickly fell in love with Johanna and got married to her after a few years and a few rejections, even having a son a year before he died.
And Jane felt an old feeling of paranoia and insecurity make its way back into her. When she was human, Jane had felt this way during her time with Henry due to him having a reputation for having a wandering eye. She didn’t want this feeling to come back with Theo just talking to his previous wife.
She just decided to let Theo be with Johanna and focus on other things, to the point of near avoiding him, if unintentionally. In the two weeks she’d managed to avoid Theo, Jane had reorganized the library five times, knitted three scarves, learned how to make a new dessert, walked King by herself, read four books, and planted six new types of flowers in the garden with help from Sebastian.
Theo’s been trying to talk to her, but some polite excuse and a sweet smile make it impossible for him to get more than two and a half sentences in with his fiancée. And Jane finds it harder and harder to not cry every time she sees Theo or Johanna or even when she hears their names. She just can’t help but think that Johanna coming back is a sign that she shouldn’t marry Theo and just let him be with the woman he loved first. They even had a son together, for god’s sake! It wouldn’t be right if she went up and married Theo after he and Johanna finally saw each other again and got the chance to tie up loose ends.
One night, Jane finds herself looking at the engagement ring in her finger that Theo had given her and she contemplates returning it to him so he can be with Johanna again. He was enamored with her almost instantly while human, there was no doubt he was going to become enamored with her once more now that both he and her were resurrected. It would make the most sense to return the ring so Theo could trade it for a different one for Johanna if he wanted to.
It wouldn’t be that hard, anyway. Jane knew she wasn’t very special in any way, shape, or form. She’d only been recognized in her human life for her ability to give her former husband a male heir and because she was decently attractive. She didn’t have any special skills, she even had to relearn her mother tongue and learn a new language just to live comfortably in her new life as a vampire. No, Jane was just a woman that came a dime a dozen and many women had her qualities and even more added to that.
And Jane was just Jane. There was nothing extraordinary about her, nothing too special or memorable. Why would Theo even want to marry her in the first place when she was so plain?
She starts thinking it was a good thing Johanna came back to life and reunited with Theo. It helped Jane to become disillusioned that she was good enough for a man who’d done many great things and had great skills in his field of work.
Jane began to question why Comte had even resurrected her. She wasn’t special in any way, the only reason for her being a historical figure was that she was the third wife of Henry VIII and was the one who gave him his male heir. Why would she belong in a house full of great figures who have done great things to influence history? All she did was get married, get pregnant, give birth, and die.
All of these thoughts take up space in her mind and she ends up isolating herself from everyone for another two weeks, only taking small servings of Blanc and Rouge for her meals and staying in her room, doing things like sewing and reading while also taking care of her beloved bird, Enid.
Eventually, Vincent decides to pay her a visit because he’s been worried about her for the past month she’s been isolating herself. When Jane opens the door, Vincent gets even more worried. She looks tired and her eyes are a tiny bit red, her voice is a tiny bit hoarse when she smiles and softly tells Vincent to come in and apologizes for the mess in her room.
And things lead to Vincent asking Jane how she is when he finally notices her engagement ring is off.
And Jane merely gives a shaky smile and hands Vincent something she’d had clasped in her hands in her lap. It was her engagement ring. Jane says that Theo could have the ring back and give it to Johanna or do whatever he wished with it.
And it takes Vincent asking why Jane gave him the ring for Jane to break down and start bawling her eyes out. Vincent immediately pulls Jane in for an embrace and just lets her cry into him. It takes five minutes of Jane crying for her to calm down and be able to form proper sentences and coherent thoughts in her mind.
And then she tells Vincent everything.
She tells him about not wanting to be controlling over Theo, about how she feels like it’s better that Johanna came back so that she and Theo could tie up loose ends and possibly resume what they had before Theo died, about how she doesn’t feel like she’s anything to look at or be concerned about considering she can’t really do anything special or extraordinary, about how she shouldn’t marry Theo because he’s finally reunited with Johanna, and about how she shouldn’t even be in the mansion anyway because she can’t do anything or bring anything valuable to the household. And this confession breaks Vincent’s pure little heart.
Because he loves that Jane was able to make his brother happy again and that she was going to marry him. Jane was going to make Theo incredibly happy and be his little sister. Vincent was so happy for his brother and now he doesn’t know what to do.
Jane didn’t feel adequate enough to even be in the same room as Theo now and Vincent didn’t know how to make her feel any better. She even gave him her engagement ring to return to Theo!
But, Vincent knew that he couldn’t get through to Jane. Her being isolated left her alone with those awful thoughts in her head that convinced her of what she was doing right now. So, Vincent said he’d talk to Theo for Jane and he pat her on the head as he got up to try and help ease her. And as Vincent smiled at Jane, she couldn’t help but feel at ease, so much so that she was able to fall asleep for the first time in days.
And as Jane fell asleep with all of her awful thoughts, Vincent left down the hall to Theo, Jane’s engagement ring in hand, and to explain to his brother what was going on and hopefully help Jane out of the horrible mental mess she was in.

I see Theo saying this to my OC Jane and her just crying to Sebastian about it late at night in the kitchen while he comforts her as Vincent goes to lecture his baby brother about how to treat a lady-
Theo: I want to kiss you.
MC, not paying attention: What? Theo: I said if you die, I wont miss you.

are your fave ikemen a brooding Byronic type, tormented by a dark past who gets redeemed by the MC? (yes I know it’s not everyone’s type, but otome games usuall have at least one guy). Then you should listen to The Proposal from Jane Eyre: the Musical. Because that’s the most legit way a brooding/tormented/byronic hero would propose and declare his love lol
Some lyrics:
My hope of heaven lies inside your precious eyes
I hear your cherished voice across the moorland skies
Will I not guard and cherish you as long as I shall live?
Will I not sanction you will all the love my heart can give?
And I wash my hands of all my youthful crime!
Defy them all, God will give me time.
And you will lead me blind.
(sorry I’m a bit obsessed with this musical atm lol)

Hei! So i want to write for Ikevamp, and more for characters that I'm less familiar with. I see that u have written for shakesy some, and I was wondering if you had some technique or something for writing him??? The way he speaks is really confusing and u seem to be able to do it
Hey~~ thank you for the ask uwu I'm happy.
To answer your question, I honestly try not to try too hard when writing him to be honest, if that makes sense. I feel like going overboard to write the flowing Elizabethan way of speaking is too much of a headache for me as well lol. I tend to just make him speak a little bit more formally, and go by more Victorian/Jane Austin speech and then just steal some romantic phrases from (the actual) Shakespeare when I want him to say something more romantic in the moment. Besides, Will can speak normally of he wants canonically, he just does his flowery speech when he's being a little shit or being extra dramatic so I just save myself the trouble and only save it when those situations arise. Hope that answered it a bit ❤️ have fun writing!
