Sasuke/Mai:

THE MOST FRIENDS TO LOVERS EVER. Mai is the MC of Ikesen which is a dating sim/otome game. Originally from the 21st century, she's accidentally time travelled to the Sengoku Era where she unknowingly rescues Oda Nobunaga from his historical death thus changing the course of history forever. She reunites with a fellow 21st century dweller Sasuke whom she'd briefly met right before the accidental time travel, who is now a ninja. Though they're on opposing sides, they're friends in all the routes as Sasuke promises to protect her and bring her back to the 21st century safely. Regardless of which route you're playing, Sasuke will always be your friend and he's the same smart yet silly goofy guy, making references to 21st century events and slang and memes which have the other warlords scratching their heads in confusion. Sasuke's route is the ultimate friends-to-lovers + slow burn + mutual pining combination, as they both gradually develop feelings for each other, yet it's also kinda frustrating (in a good way) bc Sasuke is SO clueless to her feelings and his own for a good majority of the route while Mai was down horrendous for him. The pay-off in the end is really sweet (i legit cried when sasuke finally confessed to mai lol) and spicy (ikesen is uhh a bit of a mature game), which makes the achingly slow burn really worth it. Also Sasuke's just a really nice fucking guy, like real boyfriend material, no red flags, the perfect golden retriever boyfriend frfr

Submission 1:

they're from the winter troupe of the mankai company, and unlike the other troupes they're all adults. that said, they all have varying degrees of trauma and emotional stuntedness. it takes them some time to fully open up to each other bc they're all very cautious of each other's boundaries and don't want to cross any lines which initially led to some issues in the group's formation. over time they've learned to bridge the gap while still being mindful of hard boundaries. at one point they have a discussion about what exactly their relationship is (gay) cuz they were talking about how the other troupes have clearly defined dynamics (spring=family, summer=besties, autumn=rivals & teammates) but they don't,, and homare deadass says they're "people bound by a common destiny" which in and of itself sounds very Gay (like why are you as a man bound to other men by a common destiny), but it goes even further because homare starts spouting WEDDING VOWS: "In sickness and in health, for better or for worse, we shall share our laughter and our tears as those with an intertwined fate... How beautiful we are!" THIS IS A DIRECT QUOTE FROM THE GAME AND THE MC EVEN REMARKS "i can already hear wedding bells in the distance..." 

gradually they become closer, in individual sub-units based on who's paired up as co-leads for a play, and as a troupe overall. also two of its members are childhood friends who had a messy 'divorce' in their young adulthood and it took the game breaking its genre to introduce a timeloop for them to finally make up if that means anything to you. one of their troupe songs "precious to us ~bokura no kisetsu" has some pretty beautiful and fruity lines: "The many kindnesses born in me here / Never fail to breathe life into my chest / Even all the pain and bitterness / Have now become dear to me (Ah…Stay with me)", "No matter how many times our season passes / Let us keep living together / Holding our hands, without ever letting go / Let us open up the curtain of tomorrow", "There is no need for words, because once our gazes meet / Joy sparks a light in your eyes", "Our journey, may it be a brilliant one / As our breaths overlap as one"

a lot of their plays has a LOT of homoerotic tension between the two leads too. their first play has tsumugi and tasuku play angels, and it's heavily implied that tasuku's character has an unrequited crush on tsumugi's character. their third play has azuma play a vampire and tasuku play Just Some Guy and it's generally agreed in the fandom to be one of the gayest, if not THE gayest, play A3 has ever written. obviously the vampire thing is very fruity, but there's also how the vampire was longing to bite the human but was holding himself back, and when the vampire left the human in the end, the human was absolutely HEARTBROKEN over it and was swearing they would reunite one day. the stage play of this takes it even further by having the vampire embrace the human from behind and BITE his neck. the fourth play is a watered-down adaptation of Phantom of the Opera where they genderbend Christine into Chris among other things and change the relationship between Chris and the Phantom to one of friendship.... ostensibly so, because there's still a lot of homoerotic undertones in their interactions. i could go on but this should be enough of a sampling taste

the writers rlly said "let's take 2 normal guys who are childhood friends and have been into theatre since their school days and have them go through a pre-canon messy divorce, an eccentric poet with a potentially controversial haircut, an amnesiac sleepyhead who can only be awoken with marshmallows but is also somehow extremely athletic despite doing nothing but sleeping and eating marshmallows all day, a man who is so beautiful and mysterious he breaks gender, and a supposed android from a fictional south asian country, and throw them into a blender, oh and for good measure let's throw in some theatre and angst and gay and angst and gay" and the end result was marriage. i mean it took them a lot of awkward fumbling around and conflicts to get there but they got there and thats what matters. ok *technically* in-text they're all rlly good friends and kinda found family BUT they are found family via marriage papers i do not make the rules chief

Submission 3:

The reason why they are so friends-to-lovers to me is because their relationship is founded on quiet and unconditional acceptance of each other—regardless of how flawed they may be or how heavy their burdens and trauma may be. When the troupe first formed (sans Guy who was in another country at the time), they didn’t have any major clashing personalities at the very beginning and generally they were mindful of each other’s boundaries, unlike the other troupes that came before them. However, it’s BECAUSE they were too mindful of said boundaries that it was difficult for them to break down their walls and bond as a team—and there were a LOT of walls to break down, as all of them had varying degrees of emotional baggage and trauma.

In fact, it’s only three plays in that they finally truly start opening up to each other, with Azuma getting the ball rolling by opening up about the deep loneliness that haunted him ever since his childhood. It’s during this conversation that they also discuss what their relationship as a troupe is, because the other troupes have defined their relationship as a team (Spring is family, Summer is best friends, Autumn is rivals & teammates), and Homare goes on to declare that they’re “people bound by a common destiny” and goes on to spew wedding vows: "In sickness and in health, for better or for worse, we shall share our laughter and our tears as those with an intertwined fate... How beautiful we are!" I mean… it can’t get any more obvious than this, really. They are married.

But anyway, Tsumugi says he wants their relationship to be one where while they respect each other’s need for space, they’ll also be there for each other and share their pains and burdens—or in his words: “supporting each other when our burdens become too heavy to bear on our own”—which I think is really sweet because it carries this idea of quiet, unconditional acceptance; they don’t push each other to share more than they’re comfortable with sharing, but with whatever they ARE comfortable with sharing everyone carries the load and pain because pain is easier to bear when you’re not bearing it alone <3 

A later part of the story focuses on Hisoka, a mysterious amnesiac, being terrified of regaining his memories and facing some “sin” from his past that has led to another character, Chikage, trying to take revenge on him. When he confesses this to the rest of the Winter troupe, Homare asks, “How heavy is this sin you bear?” and Azuma suggests, “Perhaps it’s just heavy enough for the five of us to carry together.” (at this point Guy hasn’t joined yet). The stage play adapts this scene into a song called Key to Memory. The key (pun unintended) part is 1:27 where there’s a back-and-forth between Hisoka and the other Winter troupe members (sans Tasuku because he wasn’t in that particular play)

Hisoka: “I’m scared…”

Tsumugi, Homare, Azuma: “It’s okay.”

Hisoka: “My unforgivable sin…”

Tsumugi, Homare, Azuma: “Let’s carry it together.”

Hisoka: “I might not be me anymore.”

Tsumugi, Homare, Azuma: “It’s all right. We understand and we accept you, so let’s go together.”

And it ends with Hisoka singing: “I was afraid to open the door of my locked memories. But if everyone is here, I believe I can do it.”  In both the game and stage play, Hisoka fully regains his memories and reconciles with Chikage (long story). He tells Fuyupoly he can’t go into detail about his past with Chikage because it’s dangerous but he’ll tell them when the time is right, and they accept this saying that no matter what his past is, they know and love him as their Hisoka which obviously is a very sweet thing for friends to say, but it’s also very Marriage-coded to me.

Later, Guy is introduced as an android from Zahra (a fictional South Asian country) and joins the Winter troupe as a temporary member—because he’s stuck in Japan for the foreseeable future—until they find a permanent member to replace him. The other Winter members have a conversation among themselves and agree that regardless of whether he’s really an android or a human they’ll accept Guy for who he is and help him improve his acting, which again harkens back to the idea of ‘unconditional acceptance’. Eventually it’s revealed that Guy is in fact a human who has forgotten his memories of the past and his emotions. He recovers his memories all at once which shocks his system and causes him to pass out. When he wakes up in his room, he finds the rest of the Winter Troupe asleep around the room—which I believe is symbolic of their whole theme of “quiet acceptance”: they don’t want to push Guy to share beyond what he’s comfortable with, but they’re always there to listen to him and share his load if that’s what he wants. He opens up about the memories he recovered, and they don’t treat him with pity like he’s a lost child, but still extend gentle empathy and understanding. They also emphasise that it genuinely doesn’t matter to them whether he’s human or android because he’s Guy first and foremost. It’s at this point that Guy truly lets himself become part of the Winter troupe/Fuyupoly and not just as a temporary stand-in member, because he’s found a place where he’s found himself again and people who will accept who this “himself” is, whether that be an android devoid of emotions or a human brimming with vivid beautiful emotions.

Hideyoshi bathes a sick mc

Mai wasn’t sure when she first started feeling ill but when she began doing her nightly routine of doing some embroidery before going to sleep when she felt a wave of nausea overcome her body. She barely had time to roll over before dinner came out the way it came in. She was sharing the futon with Hideyoshi when this happened, he was asleep before but upon hearing his lover becoming sick he sat up quickly. Though not in time to prevent dinner from ending up in her hair.

Gently he patted her back in an attempt to soothe Mai “how long have you been feeling ill?”

After wiping her mouth Mai looked at Hideyoshi, who could now see that her skin looked flushed and the usual sparkle to her eyes was absent tonight. “I don’t know, I just felt nauseous all of a sudden. I suppose I felt warm earlier but I didn’t think anything of it.”

Grabbing a handkerchief from his bedside table Hideyoshi handed it to her so that she could wipe her mouth better. “Stay here, I will get a servant to draw a bathe for you.” He would have done it himself but he didn’t want to spend a second away from Mai if he didn’t have to. He cursed himself silently for not noticing her being sick earlier. Then again if Mai didn’t know then how would he?

While Hideyoshi left to get a servant to draw a bath for Mai, she went ahead and cleaned the floor up. She didn’t want to subject someone to having to see her vomit. By the time she was done Hideyoshi returned to see Mai standing up. He rushed to her side and gently got her to sit back down, clearly his motherly instincts having kicked in. He kissed the top of her head and smiled warmly at her, though his concern showed in both his actions and his eyes.

“I want you to take it easy tomorrow, don’t worry about doing any cleaning. I will try to clear my schedule as much as possible so that way I can take care of you.”

Mai wasn’t exactly a workaholic, but she did tend to push herself and so did her lover, but she couldnt say no to those eyes of his. “I will try to take it easy tomorrow so that you don’t worry too much.” Even while sick Mai showed concern for Hideyoshi, that compassion for others was one of the reasons he fell in love with her.

A few minutes went by and a servant knocked on the door and spoke loud enough for the two inside to hear, “the bath is ready.” Not wanting to interrupt them further the servant hurried away. Mai had won over the hearts of the castle servants, so when word spread amongst the servants that she was ill they all formulated plans for doing something special during the day to help her feel better.

Guiding Mai to the bath Hideyoshi helped her undress herself, though he was surprised to see that she was suddenly rather self conscious and didn’t want his help undressing Redrawing his help he looked at her with concern, though when he went to speak she had already begun. “I wish you didn’t have to see me sick like this, I know you’ve seen me sick before but isn’t it kind of disgusting to see me with vomit in my hair.”

Hideyoshi gave Mai one of his smiles that warmed her heart like the sun against frost in the late winter mornings. “I love you Mai, I love you when you are healthy and your skin glows. I love you when you can’t sleep and get grumpy. I love you when your stomach growls and it sounds like a bear. I love you Mai, I love you all the time. Even when you are sick.” Ending this heart warming speech with a hug he helps her undress and get into the bath.

He helped wash the vomit out of her hair before washing it with a liquid mixture that Mai called shampoo and humming a small tune to distract Mai from her sudden illness. “I hope you get to feeling well soon, but if you want to look at the bright side of things it means I get to dote on you even more than I usually do.” Knowing how overbearing he could sometimes get when ‘doting’ on her Mai chuckled. It seemed she want going to be leaving her bed tomorrow, and probably the day after that too.

When the bath was done and Mai was in bed again Hideyoshi offered to brush her hair, not wanting to upset him Mai accepted. “Perhaps I should let you dote on me more often, this feels great.”

With a chuckle and a kiss on the cheek Hideyoshi agreed, “you really should. You work so hard around her. You are the glue that holds this place together.” Passing the brush through her hair again he was certain he had gotten all the tangles out. “You have such soft hair. Do you want me to braid it so that it doesn’t get tangled?”

Mai was surprised that Hideyoshi knew how to braid hair but she didn’t give it much thought. “I would love it if you did, it means a lot to me that you are doing this.” She barely had gotten the words out of her mouth when Hideyoshi began braiding her hair. He wasn’t a master at it, evident by the occasional tug here and there resulting in an ouch from Mai, but he was trying his best.

Hideyoshi finished the braid and kissed his lover on the cheek “do you want to try going back to sleep again or do you not feel up to it?” A quick yawn answered his question and he covered them both up. Hugging her close to his body. As they both drifted away to dreamland their dreams were not that dissimilar, both dreamed of each other as the night turned to day.

That concludes my first ever fanfic for Ikémen sengoku, I really enjoyed writing this piece. I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I did writing it. To tell you the truth, Hideyoshi was the first character I decided to romance in Ikemen sengoku. I loved the part where he took care of Mai when she was sick.

⁃ He sees immediately you don't feel good

⁃ He tries to get you to take it easy by assigning you elementary tasks

⁃ When you basically start swaying on your feet because you are drained he throws you over his shoulder

⁃ He places you in his futon so he can keep an eye on you

⁃ He has the kitchen make some soup and has plenty of cold water for you

Hideyoshi

⁃ he starts adjusting his schedule to keep checking on you since you didn't look right this morning

⁃ since this one works with herbs and medicine, he sees it before you even feel it

⁃ He already has an elixir brewing for you

⁃ He carefully gives it to you every four hours even in the dead of night

⁃ He watches as you sleep making sure there is no change

⁃ He has the kitchen staff make special things to encourage you to eat

⁃ He continues to hover, but as you start to feel better he begins to rest himself

⁃ He makes sure you have plenty of fresh air before he allows you to start doing things again

Masamune

⁃ he sees the dark circles and even though he was going to try something new that night he just places you in the futon not surprised you fell asleep quickly

⁃ Once you aren't sneezing or have a runny nose you allow the Eskimo kisses again which always make you feel better

⁃ You're pale and thinner than normal

⁃ Though he outwardly stays calm and begins to speak he is inwardly panicked

⁃ Once you talk back with a scratchy and lowers voice he gives up trying to remain calm

⁃ Over the shoulder and to his palace you go

⁃ You're too weak to fight him

⁃ He lays you down gently as he explains you are just to sick to work

⁃ He sends word to the castle you're ill and with him

⁃ He informs his staff to stay away electing to care for you himself

⁃ He makes you drink a horrible broth however it clears out your head for a bit

⁃ He notices that you are feverish so a consistent cool cloth it on your head and back of your neck

⁃ He made you change into an old kimono of his which feels wonderful

⁃ When it is completely dark outside he gently lays down next to you and just rubs your sleeping body

⁃ He repeats this for days until you feel much better

⁃ After washing day you find the old kimono on your bed in your room

⁃ Along with flowers and some new fabric that somewhat matches the old kimono

Oda forces.

Nobunaga Oda.

His reaction wouldn’t be too different from how it is if MC says that she is from 500 years in the future, since what really impresses him is that she is from the future. But he will definitely be more impressed with the technology developments and how much society changed. There are concepts that he can’t even imagine coming from the future. Did… did the future you came from invented magic? How is it that you have things that fly so casually? How do you make things float?

He will be definitely impressed and will ask you many questions about the technology you have in your future.

Ieyasu Tokugawa.

He will be more curious about the development in medicine and how much it evolved overtime. Though, sometimes he will think you are kidding when you talk about technology and everything it can do. You will seem impressed to be in a place where nature is still untouched and full of life, to him it will seem odd that having large forests and trees is what impresses you about the past. Seeing so much wildlife free also seems to impress you, which is why Ieyasu will often take you on walks around forests.

Uesugi-Takeda alliance.

Kenshin Uesugi.

He will wonder what kinds of weapons your era has created, which you will try to avoid speaking about a lot. Having swords and arrows seem very old to you, so he will constantly ask how weapons evolved and how wars are in your era. You will eventually tell him about it, though you will also say how dangerous the weapons from the future can be, and how much more devastation wars can bring in your era. Kenshin might love wars, but even to him your era will seem dangerous. He will never ask about it again so that you don’t feel uncomfortable.

Shingen Takeda.

Just like in his route, he will immediately ask about how medicine progressed, in hopes that his sickness can be cured. You two will eventually go to the future and he will be even more amazed by how society evolved, he will be in awe by the technology from the future. The treatment would go even more smoothly in your future and he would be able to recover faster. Shingen will want to study what he can from the future to bring back to the past.

Sasuke.

To him, this will see amazing. The wormhole was able to not only bring him to the past, but also someone from an even far away future? This is something he must study. Sasuke will ask many questions to you about the future, things will be curious about and had wondered about it before (and also because he is a fan of Sci-fic). This phenomenon will be incredible to Sasuke.

Lone forces.

Kicho.

He has been to the future before, but not yours. So you will seem unpredictable to Kicho, he didn’t know how the future was for you and how society was. This made him feel uneasy and even question if his plans were right. He will take the opportunity to ask many things to you, trying to find out more about your future. He will wonder more about the wormhole and how far away it can take someone.

I feel like playing fashion critic today.

First, I will rank their everyday outfits~

Everyday Outfits

4TH PLACE: MITSUKI (Ikemen Vampire)

This outfit invokes within me, pure revulsion. At first, I was like "That is really boring, I would not be seen in that" but the more I look at it the more I hate it. Like, ughhhh, what a waste of potential. Girl, you in the Victorian Era, why you dressed like that?

If I had a hot super rich vampire who thrived on spoiling me, you better believe I am strutting out in a different dress everyday. Paris would be my runway.

Maybe she's going for the "girl next door" look but then she should gone for a cuter top to go with the skirt. Maybe something with ruffles like THIS

To make it more interesting...

But nooooo...

If she was conservative, so be it but she's NOT. So the outfit is even less necessary and all around....blegh.

Conclusion: The outfit is bland as hell, the hair ribbon isn't helping, the shoes are trash. Thus it is a blegh outfit. Her saving grace is her wavy hair, cause I love wavy hair.

3RD PLACE: ALICE (Ikemen Revolution)

Ok so... suspenders....hm...suspender dresses don't work very often for me, especially not ones with long suspenders. They're offensive but...they don't look like they're good for much. They look ready to snap at the slightest inconvenience. The top is what Mitsuki should be wearing. Relatively simple, considering she is from Victorian England, but cute. The ribbon looks a little weird, like the designers couldn't decide whether it should be a bow or a scarf. The brooch is pretty, though it doesn't look like it really needs to be there. The skirt is very pretty, the design is princessy and girly and the frills are not overdone. The color scheme is a little...dull, especially with the dark over skirt...it could afford to be a little livelier. That said...the hair. Pretty standard, just like the other MCs. at least hers has a braid? I guess...

Conclusion: It isn't AWFUL just...a little dull for such a lively young woman...

2ND PLACE: MAI (Ikemen Sengoku)

Now this is a very cute outfit. Nice shade of pink, love the floral design on it, the splash of red from the obi (is that what it's called?) adds a nice touch, it's a fairly simple, clean look. There isn't much to say about it, apart from the rope belt with the red beads is cute too. It doesn't exactly say "princess" of anything tbh, BUT she is also a chatelaine right? So she does need to be a bit more practical...Points though for a slightly different hairstyle. Two cute braids while the rest is loose...not a world of difference, but it does sort of set her apart from the other MCs.

Conclusion: It's a pretty kimono, it suits her and the pink flowers make me happy.

1ST PLACE: EMMA (Ikemen Prince)

Emma hands down is the prettiest MC of the four and part of that is because she has the best everyday outfit. Not too much, not too little. The collar is really cute and I love the corset with gold accents and the blue and red looks pretty on her without her looking like the American flag. I will voice my discontent that her Hairstyle is...the most boring of all the MCs. It's like all of theirs, but it's just a bun...literally not much else is different. It suits her but...meh.

Conclusion: Simple but pretty enough to be noticeable. Practical and kinda elegant too.

Idol Outfits~

4TH PLACE: ALICE

Easily Alice is the cutest here. Pigtails? That's already two points. This is a pigtail-loving zone. That little touch of pink lipstick make her look so soft and pretty, the suitors won't be able to stop kissing her💋. The dress looks so beautiful on her, she looks like a fairytale princess, bonus for the shorter black skirt.

I have to admit, I am not a fan of that color. Normally, seafoam makes me SICK, but she actually rocks it tbh, especially with the light splashes of magenta and pale blue roses blending with it.

Those earrings tho....😬

Tassels on jewelry are a no-no in my book. And those earrings look like a last second add on, cause they do not go too well with the choker and the little gems on her dress. They don't ruin the look but...mm, not great at all.

Speaking of the choker...I'm a sucker for chokers and the gems match her eyes great.

Conclusion: She is a pretty princess, which is to be expected, she is the "lady" of the 4 and I would LOVE for this to be the standard look. I feel like if she started singing, the most soothing voice would come out of her...maybe she would sound like Ariana Grande?

3RD PLACE: EMMA

Oo, she looks greaaaat in dark blue with all the gold and ruffles, the pants are so Girl Boss💅 to me...though....the hair is a bit meh. It's not bad at all, just a little underwhelming to me. I also wish there was more colors other than blue here. Maybe if the gems and earrings were pink or yellow, she would be more striking? Or maybe add a dash of violet to the pants? Or have the inside top be lilac? The scarf looks a little out of place, it doesn't really go with the rest of the outfit but...I actually kind of like it? The only other reason Emma isn't higher is because the top 2 are top tier👀

Conclusion: She may be Belle, but she looks like a badass version of Cinderella👠 and I'm here for it. She looks like a singer with a powerful voice like...Christina Aguilera?

2ND PLACE: MAI

Ayee, check out the Princess of Azuchi👀

She looks amazing! I'm a sucker for hair streaks, and she comes out here rocking red in that ponytail (Is it a ponytail? I think it's a ponytail). I think its really cute she still sports her signature braids even in a different style, so it's still very Mai. Now...the outfit itself, at first glance I thought it was a bit much, but it actually works. She actually reminds me of Keiji with all the colors. Flashy but it looks good. She doesn't do red too often, but she looks fire in it with all the gold and purples. I love the mismatched earrings cause...well because they're pretty and it's a bit rebellious. Black nails...take a special kind of person to pull them off without looking too dark...and she has managed it. I also like the flowers in her hair...except for that really big white one. It looks a little awkward and might be overdoing it with that one. However...thigh high socks...👀

Now you're speaking my language. They look so CUTE on her! Combined with little black dress, she could only wear that and still look amazing. I live for the top part of the dress, especially the black sheer. Very Kai'sa to me and I stan Kai'sa so... I stan this top. The skirt might be just a TOUCH too much, considering the rest of the ensemble, so maybe she should've gone for just a simple miniskirt? But she can keep the pearls, i will never say no to pearls.

The kimono is still very Sengoku while taking a modern hammer to it, and it paid off in spades. Its bold, its beautiful and there is no question that this is Azuchi's princess, if not queen.

Conclusion: She is a literal Pop princess🎤, she looks like she can rap tbh, I imagine her sounding like Lisa from BLACKPINK. And I'm there for it

Now this is the look of a Vampire QUEEN👸. I love everything here, the dress is hella gorgeous, the purple and black is stunning on her. That hair is EVERYTHING, especially with the pearls, she is literally a princess. I love the earrings, they are gorgeous, but not overly flashy or crazy looking and add to the glamorous vibes she is setting off. The necklace is a bit much, I'd be afraid to wear it for fear it'll prick me😅 but she makes it work. Gold nails💅? Yes please. They go well with her glittery makeup, it's not too much, but just enough to make her eyes come out more. And if that wasn't enough....thigh high socks and fingerless gloves..?

Yes. Just....yes.

She is top tier in this, I wish she could look like this all the time. She looks like an A-list movie star playing a queen...with sparkles everywhere. And I can never have enough sparkle✨

Conclusion: Her everyday look causes me anguish and physical pain, but THIS is giving me life, oh nah, she could take over France looking like this. She definitely looks like she can sing like Mariah Carey, I'm convinced.

He calls you to his tenshu and lets you rest near his huge balcony while seeing the stars. Asks you if you're feeling okay or not from time to time. Feeds you konpeito as a reward. Huffs when you don't like them. Whistles in the air for Haguro and demands that he entertain you.

2. Hideyoshi Toyotomi :

Prohibits you from doing any work at all. You have to lay down and rest. Don't worry, your older brother will arrive with a tub of water and a clean cloth to put on your forehead. Cleans up your room as he rambles about Mitsuhide's deeds. Notices you sleeping an hour later.

3. Masamune Date :

Brings his tiger to snuggle with you and to provide you comfort. Makes your favourite dishes and soup. Feeds you soup even though your nose is blocked and you can't taste it very well. Sad boy when you tell him that you're full and can't eat anymore.

(Will you eat sexy eyepatch daddy's cooking? Cause I sure will)

4. Mitsuhide Akechi :

Stops teasing you for once and actually gets serious. Wraps you up in a 100 layers and tells you to sleep like the darling mouse you are. Spies on you to make sure you eat. Threatens to use "unfair means" to tease you to submission if you don't listen to him. Smirks when you make a pouty face.

5. Ieyasu Tokugawa :

Actually knows what to do in this scenario. Gives you the appropriate food and medicine. Let's you braid his hair after you plead with him a million times. You heal quickly thanks to Ieyasu's vast knowledge of medicine. Blushes when you thank him for taking care of you.

6. Mitsunari Ishida :

Clueless boy tries his best. Reads you stories with his soothing voice. Calls Ieyasu for help and gets scolded by Ieyasu. Smiles at you goofily when you tell him to answer Ieyasu back with the same demeanor. Forgets you exist when he starts reading his books.

7. Keiji Maeda :

Tells you to go horseback riding with him or climb a tree with him and gets spanked by Hideyoshi. Tries very hard to come up with a good reasoning for you to climb up a tree and fails. Makes you laugh by saying extremely shitty jokes. Later he tries to climb a tree, sees a snake and pisses his pants.

8. Ranmaru Mori

Brings you peaches and volunteers to massage your shoulders or any area that you feel pain. Gets flustered when you tell him to dance for you. Carries you around if you need to be somewhere and realizes that you still need more rest. Guards you at night even though there are soldiers outside and inside the castle.

9. Kenshin Uesugi :

Tries to "kill" this so called virus which he heard from Sasuke. Goes into big brother mode and chases Shingen away when he comes to flirt with you. Only him, Ume, Take, and Matsu are allowed to visit you. He doesn't want anyone to bother his sister.

10. Shingen Takeda :

Thinks flirting will make you feel well and has clearly never been more wrong in his whole life. Tells the cook to prepare your favourite sweets and hot soup. Wants to feed you but later is withheld by a meeting. Sends you a hairclip as a get well soon gift.

11. Yukimura Sanada :

Tries very hard to not get into a stupid fight with you. Calls you a dummy for falling sick and not taking care of yourself. Is shocked when you start crying and confused when you fall asleep after that. Is very unfamiliar with the concept of "mood swings". Grumbles about it and later gets sick too because he slipped on a banana peel and fell into the castle pond.

12. Sasuke Sarutobi :

His knowledge of modern medicine was immense, but unfortunately there weren't many tools to work with in the Sengoku period. Tries to cheer up his modern day bff with vines and tiktok dances he learnt. Later they both fangirl about Ieyasu and scream. Sasuke is now prohibited from visiting MC's room because he gave her a sore throat from all that laughing.

13. Kanetsugu Naoe :

Can't care more about some rat being sick. He still helps you though, by telling you he has postponed your punishment. It doesn't help much, but you know Kanetsugu is warming up to you. Fangirls about Kenshin to you and later gets caught by Sasuke. He later is seen chasing the ninja throughout the castle.

14. Yoshimoto Imagawa :

Lets you lay your head on his lap as he plays with your hair. Massages your scalp very gently and makes sure everything you need is available. Offers you freshly cut up fruit and chats with you all day long. Surprised to hear that you too have an exquisite eye for clothes and fashion. Wants to go shopping with you someday.

15. Motonari Mouri :

Tells his men to steer the ship a little slowly and barks at anyone who says that the new girl made him weak. Takes you out on the deck to get your mind off your sickness. Cooks for you and scoffs when you tell him he added too much salt. Surprised to see you sleep walking on the deck late at night and asks what were you doing. He remembers being knocked out by someone and wakes up with a bruised nose the very next day.

16. Kicho :

Gives you chocolate which he got from a foreign trader. Happy to see you're all well and smiling now. Offers to give you a bigger room if that is what will make you happy. Clicks his tongue when you tell him that you don't need a bigger room or any fancy treatment. Disgusted when Motonari comes to visit and winks at you saying that it will make you feel better.

17. Kennyo :

Prays for you and for your health. Gives you herbs and advice on how to take care of yourself properly next time. Brews warm tea for you and gives you snacks. Insists you rest up and not care about anything else for the meantime. Will definitely get Ranmaru to dance for you if that is what the situation asked for.

A Taste of Home | Ikemen Vampire – (Sebastian/Female MC)

I had this idea outlined for almost two months, but didn’t have a chance to actually write it out during  @unappreciatedotomelove’s “Unappreciated Character Month” back in June! My goal was to finish writing before the end of July so that I could at least pretend to contribute this to the event! OTL Luckily, I was able to squeeze in some writing in between work the past few days!!

For this piece, I decided to focus on our lovable butler! Sebastian is actually one of my favourite characters from IkeVamp, and I’m very excited to finally write something for him! This is actually my first time writing for IkeVamp in general, as well, but hopefully it won’t be the last!!

Just going to quickly tag @b1a4seeyou – I’m sooooooo so late, but here’s that Sebastian fic I was talking about, haha!! Also tagging @otonymous and @pseudofaux! A TASTE OF HOME

Written for “Unappreciated Character Month”

PROMPT: Day 19 – Being ill

It was an unfamiliar feeling for Sebastian – this consistent throbbing in his head and rawness in his throat. He prided himself on his resilience and excellent immune system, after all. Yet, here he was, flat on his back on a plush mattress, his cheeks flushed with a fever.

The historian couldn’t even remember the last time he had been sick. It certainly hadn’t happened since he had arrived at M. le Comte’s mansion, at the very least. Even though – for months and months on end – he had single-handedly taken care of the cleaning and cooking for all the residents of the mansion with nary a break, he had never taken a sick day.  

As he pondered his recent medical history – or lack thereof – a distant memory flickered across his mind. A memory from many years past and a previous life. However, before his fever-addled brain could grasp it firmly, his bedroom door creaked open.

“How are you feeling, Sebastian?” the newest resident of their mansion asked as she pushed a trolley into the room and quietly closed the door behind her.

“I’ve been better,” he replied dryly, before a cough wracked his body.

“I’ve brought your medicine, and something for you to eat,” the young woman responded with a sympathetic smile. “Can you sit up?”

Sebastian grunted and managed to move his arms, heavy with fatigue, and propped himself up into a seated position. He leaned back against the plush pillows and sighed wearily. Once he was settled, his colleague proffered him several small pellets and a glass of water.

Swallowing the bitter medicine, he watched as the woman next to him lifted the lid off his meal.

“Is that... rice porridge?” he asked incredulously.

“It is! Are you surprised? But, when I heard you were sick… well, I just knew that it had to be rice porridge – there’s just nothing quite like it when you’re not feeling well, right?” she replied. “I added in some minced chicken for protein, too – so that you can get your strength back up.”

Sebastian could only stare speechlessly as she set a serving tray over his lap and placed the piping hot bowl in front of him, along with a couple of ramekins and a saltshaker.

“I couldn’t get my hands on any pickled plums or the other really Japanese toppings, but Dazai was able to find some fresh ginger and scallions for me. He was so excited to hear that I was cooking Japanese food, he scoured the foreign markets for hours to find the ginger, you know,” she chattered, a chuckle slipping past her lips. “Oh, and here’s another one for your diary: Napoleon wouldn’t stop hovering as I cooked – he was so fascinated with the concept of rice porridge that he sat and watched the pot almost the entire time it cooked.”

“I have no idea what diary you’re speaking of,” he retorted automatically with a frown. If only his arms didn’t feel so heavy, he would flick her in the forehead for that comment.

Apparently ignoring him, she turned her attention to the tray and seasoned the rice porridge with a dash of salt and sprinkled on some julienned ginger and slivers of scallion. Mixing the porridge gently, she scooped up a small spoon and blew on it carefully before lifting it to hover in front of his mouth.

“Say ‘ahh’,” she instructed, eyes crinkling with a mischievous smile.

Cheeks flushed – from the fever, or something else, he wasn’t quite sure – Sebastian hesitated, eyes flickering to the door. Confirming that it was indeed firmly shut, he finally leaned forward and took a bite.

The taste was so nostalgic that he became overwhelmed. The fleeting memory from earlier now slammed into him like a truck. And, suddenly, he was in university again – when he had collapsed in his apartment after weeks of stress, overexertion and lack of proper meals and sleep. With his completed thesis safely handed in to his professor, his body had finally surrendered. It was his sister that had found him on the floor, hours later.

He had eaten rice porridge back then, too, with ginger and scallions – they had been his sister’s garnishes of choice since childhood. And, as the taste lingered in his mouth and the warmth of the porridge slid down his throat, spreading through to the tips of his fingers, he felt another unfamiliar feeling prickling at his eyes.

When was the last time he had cried, either?

“Oh no!! Was it too hot?! You’re tearing up!” the woman beside him cried in panic.

“No, it’s fine. Stop flapping around,” he responded with a sigh, closing his eyes for a moment, regaining his composure.

“Oh, thank goodness,” she sighed, her hand pressing against her chest in relief. “How does it taste, anyway?”

Sebastian paused. Instinctually, he wanted to say: ‘It tastes good’; which wasn’t a lie. Though, he honestly would have been quite concerned if it hadn’t been palatable considering it was just rice and water. However, another word had popped into his head instead.

‘Home.’

It tasted like home.

Sebastian’s always so unflappable and competent, I just thought it’d be really cute to see him helpless, for once! Also, I was actually trying to figure out how long Sebastian’s been at the mansion – I haven’t read all of the routes yet and couldn’t remember if it was mentioned in any of the routes I did read – but I wasn’t able to find the answer easily, so I left it kind of vague. I know that, in his birthday story, he mentioned that he hadn’t seen his sister in years, but he didn’t specify if it was because he was at the mansion or if he was already estranged from her previously. If anyone does know the answer, I’d love to know!

Ikemen Sengoku: New Warlord Bonus Story - Naoe Kanetsugu

This is the bonus story for the introduction of Kanetsugu. This story happens after the Chapter 2 prologue of Ikemen Sengoku (here).

MC: Hm...... This rain is not stopping

As I am going out to the market outside of Azuchi to do some purchasing, I look up at the sky from where big drops of rain start to fall, and can’t help but sigh.

(I have not brought my umbrella with me...... Guess I will have to stay here for now to wait for the rain to stop)

Looking at the curtains of rain falling from the the eaves of the temple’s hall, another person emerges in the temple grounds.

(Wow...... He’s completely soaked)

Rain drops from his sharp as ice and beautiful face.

???: ......

This person walks quietly under the eaves, and uses his handkerchief carefully to wipe away the rain.

MC: ...... (The rain) really comes out of nowhere

???: ...... Don’t casually talk to a guy you just met

MC: Eh......

After he says this one thing with the face that he doesn’t like it from the bottom of his heart, he bows to the hall and walks in.

(It’s not that a big deal to just say some small talks back...... Maybe I am being over-familiar...... Just like his appearance, he seems to be a cold person)

............

(...... What should I do, this rain is not stopping at all. Even though it’s a bit awkward, maybe I should also head inside the hall)

Just as I think that, I see another man walks onto the temple grounds

Man: Lady, are you here to take shelter from the rain?

MC: Ah...... Yes, you too?

Man: No, I have an appointment to meet up with someone here

(Ah, is it with the person just now?)

MC: The other person currently is ins-

???: You actually come

Man: Ek!?

???: What is someone serving under the Uesugi doing here on Azuchi’s land?

Man: Ah...... You, you are...... Kanetsugu......

(Kanetsugu......?)

MC: Oh, is this not the person you are meeting up with......?

Kanetsugu: Stop this sick misunderstanding. This guy is a traitor in contact with someone who also betrayed my lord, Uesugi Kenshin.

MC: Eh......?

(His lord is Uesugi Kenshin...... This means, this person, is the enemy of the Oda force......!?)

Kanetsugu: I am not going to forgive any fool who plans to betray our lord

The person called Kanetsugu pulls out his sword slowly

Man: Ek!

Kanetsugu, in one smooth action, rams the hilt of his sword into the stomach of the man who tries to run away

(Ah......)

His eyes looking down at the man who falls to the ground, immediately give me goosebumps.

Kanetsugu: I will carefully listen to what you have to say when we are back in Echigo

He is full of fierce anger, and it totally overthrows my first impression of him being cold. 

His eyes unexpectedly looks this way.

(...... Ek!)

It was only for a second that his eyes are boiling hot angry, next moment they return to the cold looks I first saw

Kanetsugu: ...... Don’t casually talk to a guy you just met. Especially if you don’t know how to fight

MC: Ah...... yes.

(So he said what he said to me in this kind of meaning)

MC: Who, are you?

Kanetsugu: Did you not learn manner from your parents? If you want to know my name, say your name first

(Ugh...... Everything he says has thorns...... Even though he is not wrong......)

Taking the damage of the mean words coming out of his beautiful face, I respond to what he points out, which is not wrong

MC: I am MC. I am working as a tailor in Azu...... some castle.

Kanetsugu: ...... A castle near Azuchi, so, you are working for someone in the Oda force

MC: Eh!? That, uh, no!

Kanetsugu: Don’t worry. I don’t plan to stir up trouble for a fool who gives out information that lets me guess that she is an enemy 

(A fool...... Even though he’s not wrong......!)

Kanetsugu: Try your best to not get involved in wars...... I am the tactician of the Uesugi force, Naoe Kanetsugu

Kanetsugu follows the manner and gives out his name, casually walks out of the hall with looking back once. Some subordinate-looking people show up, put the knocked out man on a carrier and leave following him

(He’s kinda really hard to understand...... The first impression is that he is a person cold as ice. However, what I see in that one moment, is a burning fury. I thought he is extremely cool-headed, but he was also concerned about me, who he has never met...... I wonder if we will meet again)

As I notice, the rain has stopped, and a clear blue sky is reflected in the swaying puddle.
