Ikemen Sengoku x Reader - “Wrong Move” [Part 1]

Under unfortunately ironic circumstances, you get taken hostage by the the very person that made the truce between the Oda forces and Takeda-Uesugi alliance happen. However, angering these warlords and using the person that brought all of them together in a heartbeat was probably the worst strategy anyone could come up with. 

Requested by @djanowski15 : “I have no idea how bisy you are, I’m guessing it’s pretty busy since I’m a college student in quarantine too, but I was wondering, if you have time, if you could do a fic for the sengoku warlords having a meeting about a new oc enemy after their truce signing only to learn that this new enemy somehow ended up kidnapping mc and threatening to kill her and all of the warlords decide to finally stomp this guy down into his rightful place with a fluffy reunion with everyone afterwards?”

A/N: Sorry this took so long, I kind of went overboard with this because I loved the idea so much, it comes in two parts, I’ll post them in succession and I’m sorry if the ending isn’t as developed as you wanted, it would have gone on for too long otherwise T-T.

Dusting her hands off on her cloth, she walked back from Masamune’s manor towards the castle. It stood tall for tonight’s ‘celebratory truce dinner’ -- although it was clear it wasn’t a celebration for any of them, but it was compulsory. Despite the thorough organisation that went through with this, it was an in-between warlords event so only two or three vassals per side were going to be present, for protection purposes. 

Switching hands, her fingers curled around the bag of vegetables that the One-Eyed Dragon needed. Finally arriving at the entrance, she wobbled down the corridor, having to stop every now and again as her palms burned. This wasn’t the best fabric to carry heavy things with, but then again, what is?

“Whoever ordered my beautiful angel to carry such a heavy load and injure her precious hands is on his way to hell.” (Y/N) recognised the honey-dipped voice with a stern tone. Turning around, she faced the tall man. Elegantly, he took it out of her grasp and carried it, making it look effortless.

“Thank you Shingen,” she smiled, massaging herself as she walked alongside him.

“Although you shouldn’t curse Masamune to hell, I volunteered to go to his manor to get these supplies.” She defended.

“Would you mind showing me his manor?” he grinned widely as they both turned into another hallway. Giving him a you-are-all-my-friends-and-I-wouldn’t-help-either-side-try-to-go-against-each-other look. It would also be a little indecent to collect information on a newly formed ally. 

“Oh, it’s you.” the familiar grumpy voice made the man’s smile fall immediately. 

The spikey blond hair came into view as he exited the kitchen. 

“Look my darling, we’re all getting along.” Shingen chuckled sarcastically, sliding an arm around her shoulders as he dropped the bag on the floor.

“We might be on a truce but not all of us take kindly to other men being so touchy with Nobunaga’s lucky charm.” a stray kitsune passed by the hallway.

“And by ‘not all of us’ you mean you.” Yukimura, who was following being, chimed in.

“Too many people in the kitchen, everyone except the lass leaves!” The Tiger ordered.

“He did that to have her all by himself.” Ieyasu grumbled at Mitsunari's innocence.

Because (Y/N) is the most reasonable when it comes to cooking out of the rest. Pff, my ass.

He rolled his eyes. Maybe it could be true but everyone knew that wasn’t the reason behind it. Well, everyone except Mitsunari of course.

Nobunaga glanced at the door when Hideyoshi wasn’t looking.

“I’ll just go see if (Y/N) and Masamune are nearly finished.” started to stand up, Hideyoshi interrupted.

“I took the candy away, it's not in the kitchen.” Pouting, he sat back down. 

“Candy?” Shingen straightened his posture from his bored one.

“Dinner.” (Y/N) announced as the door was slid open for her, followed by Masamune and two maids, who were also carrying plates of food. 

Plopping down beside Nobunaga -- as required, he leaned over to her giving her a knowing look. Rolling her eyes and sighing, she slipped the tiny satchel from inside her sleeve and sneakily handed it to him.

“I’ll take you wherever you wish as payment for this, I’m eternally grateful to you for saving my life.” He thanked me. Shingen kept his attention on the bag.

“Don’t be so dramatic, now hide it before I get scolded by Hideyoshi!”

Looking around in the kitchen, she waved the lantern around, searching for the spice that the maids forgot to take for dessert. (Y/N) was the only one in the room, it was dark and not necessary to add more light since she was passing by. On her way here, she crossed paths with the occasional guard on for obvious reasons, they were the only ones in the castle tonight. 

“Oh!” she jumped.

Speak of the devil.

“What are you doing here?” the woman breathed out as the man bowed.

“I apologise, my lady, I heard some suspicious noises and thought it was best to investigate.” 

“Oh, I was just getting some seasoning.” the (H/C) haired chuckled in embarrassment, he was too sweet and she didn’t want to waste his time further “and I think I found it.” turning away to reach the small jar that was on one of the shelves. 

Right after, footsteps grew louder and she felt him right behind her.

“Hey, what are you-MMH!!” she wriggled as something was placed against her mouth and nose and then pulled against his chest. Her muffled sounds grew more and more silent, muscles limping as she drifted off into unconsciousness.

“The desserts are getting colder by the minute. What is taking her so long?” Masamune frowned.

“This talk is becoming dull.” Yukimura huffed.

“The whole point of this truce is to discuss how we’re going to deal with him.” Ieyasu mumbled.

“You weren’t the one travelling all those days on horseback porcupine head.” the vassal retorted. 

“P-porcupine?!” the blond’s eyes widened in disbelief.

Hideyoshi made eye contact with Nobunaga, for once, ignoring the pointless banter. Something was definitely up. The leader of the Oda forces understood immediately, nodding to his vassal. The latter stood up, walking towards the door.

“I need to make sure she’s alright.” 

“I’ll come with.” Sasuke volunteered.

“She’s gone??” Ieyasu’s eyes widened.

“The search party hasn’t come back with anything yet.” Mitsuhide expressed with a scowl.

“My lords!” One of the guards rushed in, bowing deeply.

“What is it?” Mitsuhide turned around. 

“It’s a letter.” he handed it to him before scurrying outside like he was supposed to. 

Nobody moved but the kitsune could tell all their eyes were on him as he unfolded the letter to read. However, his heart dropped as his eyes fixated something else that was included: hair of a familiar colour, tied in a ribbon. His fingertips pulled it out and he inspected it.

Kenshin felt his hand grip his sword tightly, it was unbearably frustrating finding out that (Y/N) was kidnapped and on top of that not knowing who did it, he needed to know and he knew he wasn’t the only one thinking the same. 

No one spoke but the tension grew thick in an instant.

Unfolding the piece of paper, he began to read it for himself before doing it out loud for all to hear when Nobunaga accepted it.

When he finished reading the letter, his eyes darted across the rooms, seeing the anger among everything despite maintaining their composure. 

“Emergency meeting.” The look he gave implied that their new allies were not going to attend.

“We want in!” Yukimura frowned.

“No.” Ieyasu’s tone was stern.

“We’ve signed a truce, and there is no point in keeping us out of this because of our own motives when we cherish (Y/N) as much as you do. We need to put our differences aside, as she would say.” Shingen chipped in.

“Fine.” Nobunaga’s eyes narrowed. 

They sat formally as they would at any meeting before.

Ikemen Prince Prologue summary

The story starts by showing the main character, Ema who is a bookworm and also who works at a bookstore. Ema is so into romantic genre, that she has read many kinds of love story but never once have fell in true love. 

Rio, Ema’s friend, comes to meet her. She asks him why he is here at this time because it’s usually his working hours. Rio says that he quit the job because he wasn’t happy and now he wants to work with Ema in her bookstore. He is doing this so that he could be by her side all the time.

Ema remembers the rainy day 3 years ago, where she found Rio unconscious. She saved him and since then he has been attached to her like a puppy. Rio states that he has given his body and heart to her that day when she saved her, but Ema tells him to keep it a secret between them.

Ema tells him that the owner of the shop is out and wouldn’t be back soon, so he couldn’t join as a worker today. but she promised him that she will sent a letter to him later regarding his interview. Rio smiles again like a cute puppy and tells her that he couldn’t wait to call Ema ‘master’.

They starts to have lunch, because Ema’s stomach suddenly growled. Rio already sensed this would happen and because of that he already brought something delicious for her. Rio tells her not be embarrassed because he already knows everything about her.

While having lunch, Ema got curious about the festival that is taking place in the town. Rio tells her that there are many stall this year. but nothing got her attention until he said that there is a travel merchant, who is selling old books. Ema quickly got excited after hearing the word ‘books’. Rio again sensed this would happen and he in turn tells her that he will watch the shop for her and that she can go buy her books. Ema thanked him and left the shop only to hear Rio whispering “she is cute ……but I hope there are no bad men. “

Ema took a tour around the town, to watch the decorations and banners. She could also see the beautiful castle from afar. She bought her books and also a gift for Rio. On her way, she sees two drunkards scolding a little boy. the crowd around them were just watching while doing nothing. When one of those men was about to hit the child, Ema couldn’t stand watching this and moved in between those men and the child. Those drunkards starts to curse her for coming in the way but she refused to move. Those men were now ready to hit her and when she realized this she tried covering herself with the books she bought. But they threw the books which she was holding and everything was scattered on the ground. Again those men raised their hand to hit and she closed her eyes.

When she opened her eyes, she saw a dark hair man holding the drunkard’s hand that was about to hit her. Something felt unusual about this man because when he entered the scene, there was change in atmosphere. It felt as if a beast left his cage. The dark hair man stated that he is ready to be their opponent if these drunkards wanted to create problem.

Since fighting in public place is illegal, Ema jumps in saying that they should solve the matter in peaceful manner. But those arrogant drunkards shouted at her and kicked one of her books. That one book which he kicked, went flying and fell right on the road and blocked the path of a man who is riding a horse.

The man who was riding the horse, stopped his horse and looked at the book in front of him. Then he glared at those men. Ema felt the aura coming from this man is same as dark hair guy’s aura. She saw there is a crest on the saddle and starts to think that this man might be from a royal family. 

The royal looking man glared at those men and asked if they were the ones who threw the book. But those arrogant drunkards challenged the royal looking man by stomping the book right in front of him. The royal looking man glared at those men, like a tiger looking at his prey who is ready to attack.

He got off his horse and pulls out his sword and points at those men. Thinking that he might kill them, Ema slaps those men. Ema tells them to either calm down or get killed. Realizing that she saved them from death, those men became flustered and ran away. The dark hair man and the royal man looked at her in awe for her actions. She turns to them and apologizes for the trouble. The dark hair man laughs loudly, which calms the air. He tells her not to worry and that the royal looking man is not a type to kill people for something like this.

Then some more men came in and among them there is another man with a crest. He had a very wicked smile, as if he was enjoying the whole show from far away. That man called the Royal looking man Chevalier. Chevalier looks at the book on the ground and asks Ema if it belongs to her. She nods and her again stares at it. The man named Chevalier pulls out his sword and tells her that ‘books are valuable more valuable than your body, remember that’( I really hope this statement is translated correct)

Chevalier walks away with the man with wicked grin. Ema turns around and thanks the dark hair guy and he tells her not to be polite and introduce himself as Leon. He helps her with the books and asks if she loves books, and she says that she loves reading stories more that reality.

Leon goes to the little boy who now stopped crying. He tells him that he will help him find his mother and picks up the boy. The little boy thanks Ema for saving him and goes with Leon. Ema found Leon as a good person, but then she got back to her own activity.

From afar a shadow, who watched the entire scene, smiled like a devil and whispered the words ‘I found you’

Ema realized that she was late and had to make Rio wait for a long time. While thinking of apologizing to him, when she entered her bookstore, she is greeted by a devil smiling at her. She slams the door instantly, and then thinks that she might be dreaming and again opens the door to look inside. But to her bad luck, the devil was sitting there smiling at her. She was about to shout, but he quickly covers her mouth and tells her that he is here to take her for a serious reason. He called some men and Ema realized that she being taken to the castle because those men her called were castle guards. 

She is brought to the castle’s garden. Ema looks up to see the castle. She never got to see the magnificent castle this close in her entire life. While she is admiring the beauty, she heard an arrogant voice from behind telling her to move out of the way. She felt someone’s hand on her shoulder and when she turned there were two men in fancy clothes looking at her. One with an arrogant tone asks her if she is a woman ditched by ‘Nockto’. The other guy who asks in flirting tone, if ‘Yves’ knows this good looking woman.

Ema finally asks them who they were and they gave her surprised looks. The one with the arrogant tone got grumpy after hearing that a common looking girl like her doesn’t know him. The devil comes in and tells them that she is the results of his search. The frivolous man looks at her and asks if she is ‘the guest’ and the devil nods. The frivolous man gives a sexy smirk and the devil tells them to get everyone for the round table conference. The frivolous man agrees and leaves. When Ema felt that he is gone, suddenly she felt someone grabbing her hand from behind and when she looks back, she come face to face with the same man. He tells her that he will play with her later and leaves this time for real.

Ema looks back at the arrogant man, who raise his index finger at her stating that he will never accept a common girl like her for ‘Belle’ and walks away. Ema felt like she heard the word ‘Belle’ before.

The devil takes her hand and brings her inside the castle. When she entered inside the castle she felt as if she is entering a dream world. Ema asks the devil to introduce himself and he says that his name is Sariel and he is a court official. She found hard to believe that a devil like him is court official. She asks about Rio and he tells her that if she obeys his order, he will guarantee his life. Ema had no choice but to let Sariel have his way and he felt this amusing because he brought a rebellious person like her to her knees.

They both walk in the hallway and reaches a big door. The guards opened the door, and it revealed a room with a big round table and eight men were seated on each chairs. Ema felt the temperature inside the room went down to minus degree and when she entered the room, those eight men turned to look at her. Their eyes were cold and sharp like real beasts and Ema felt like a small rabbit in front of them.

When she took a closer look at the face of those men, she realized some faces were familiar. One of them was Leon who greets her. Ema asks if he was actually a prince all this time because he wore causal clothes in town. Sariel asks her to address him more politely but Leon tells her not to do so. She is seated among those men and Sariel welcomes everyone for attending the meeting about ‘Belle’ system. He asks each one to introduce themselves to Ema starting with one sittiing closest to her. The tall man finds this ‘introducing yourself’ thing a pain but decides to go with it anyway.

Luke Randolph starts by introducing himself as the 8th prince, followed by Nockto Klein, 7th prince, telling her to come to his room anytime. Licht Klein, 6th prince and Nockto’s twin, introduces himself just by giving his name and nothing else. Yves Kloss, 5th prince was the next candidate and tell her not to call him cheaply. Jin Grande, 1st prince and the eldest one tells her not be bothered by these ‘children’ behaviour. 

Clavis was the next one,3rd prince. He tells her to call him just Clavis. Clavis gestures Chevalier, but he didn’t gave a damn. But still he gave her his name, Chevalier Mihcele, 2nd prince. The final one was Leon Dompteur, 4th prince.

After all the interoduction, Ema asks about the so called ‘belle system’. Yves asks if she was brought here without knowing, which in other terms is called kidnapping. Luke asks Sariel if he had kidnapped Ema, but he gave her a look telling not to say a word.

Sariel starts by explaining the ‘belle system’ where, one person is chosen as Belle and that person’s job is to find the next king. Since Ema is the ‘belle’ this time, she has to choose the next king out of these 8 princes.

Ema asks what happened to the current king and Clavis, in order to get on Sariel’s nerves, reveals that the king is dead. She asks why didn’t they make it public and Sariel tells her their country, Rhodolite is almost in good terms with the countries like Jade and somewhat neutral with Benitoite. But there is one country that is trying to take over Rhodolite is Obsidian. Since there is no king, it would be easier for them to take control, so that’s why that had to keep the death confidential.

Ema asks why she is chosen as ‘Belle’ and he replies by saying that he saw her slapping the man at the festival. He says Belle must be a person who has kind heart to understand people’s feelings and all the typical ‘good stuff.’

Ema protests that she couldn’t take such a big role like this. Sariel asks Leon and Chevalier to convince her and when she asks why, he tells her that Leon is the center of internal affairs and Chevalier is the center of Foreign affairs. When some serious decisions takes place, they both join hands to take the final decision. Leon convinces her that she is best suited for this role since she is a commoner. Also people in the town thinks them as beasts. This is not entirely a lie because the men seated here are beasts in their own way. However if a kind heart person and a commoner like her tries to understand them from the inside it’s even more acceptable.

He tells her that she is getting a rare chance to do something for the country and she shouldn’t let go of this. Ema tries hard to come up with a decision and finally agrees.

Chevalier stands up and leaves right after hearing her decision. Leon asks him why he is leaving and he tells he doesn’t have any reason to stay since the decision is already taken. Before leaving Clavis asks him to at least motivate her but he doesn’t care about ‘Belle’s business and he will be the king no matter what. He threatens her not to get in his way and leaves. Clavis follows behind him while teasing Ema that she will be a good toy to play with.

After that Nockto asks if Belle chooses the king, does it means that they can seduce her. Sariel agrees and Nockto grins while looking at her and says that they are going to have lots of fun. Yves argues about Nockto’s lack of self awareness as a prince and they both started arguing, where Nockto teases Yves by calling Yves-chan (which is very adorable with his voice!!). Jin tells her that Yves is just trying to prove himself in his own way and she doesn’t have to worry about it. They starts talking when suddenly Luke stands up to leave saying that he is tired. Before leaving he tells Ema to rely on him if she has any problems and also not to call him with honorifics. Ema agrees and he leaves showing no interest in throne. Jin tells her to let him be and starts eating a candy from his pocket. 

Leon asks if Jin is interested to take the throne and he says no. Nockto continues by asking Ema to call him by his name without any honorifics but Yves strictly tells her to call his name with honorifics. Jin also tells her to call him whatever she likes. Suddenly Licht who was all silent stood up. Yves asks him to communicate with others or else he will be left out. Licht tells him that he already feels invisible among them. When he is about to leave for his room, Nockto asks id he is interested in the throne. But he doesn’t answers that question.

He looks down and leaves. Ema asks why does some of them wants to be the king while some of them don’t. Leon tells her that they are all half brother but they don’t think the same way. She asks Leon if he wants to be the king, but he just smiles at her asking  is he worth it.

The conversation ends with a bang by Sariel. He tells her, wants to take her to an important place. 

She goes with him into another empty room where she see a rose inside a glass dome. Sariel tells her that its a rose prepared by the wife of the king. It has always been like that for generations. She has only one month to complete her task. Also he gives her another list of terms and conditions. Like there were 99 rules for Belle. He tells her after going through all of them, she has to sign it and only then he could show her room.

But before that Ema realizes something. She asks about her things and also about her job because she will be absent for one month, but Sariel took care of all the things necessary and also told her employer about the situation. She then asks about Rio and Sariel smiles and claps his hand.

Rio appeared in front of her wearing a butler’s uniform. Sariel telles her that being Belle has one benefit and that is she can keep a pet. Sariel when entered Ema’s bookshop this morning, saw Rio guarding. He told him about Ema being the next Belle. Rio was excited after hearing this eagerly begged Sariel to be by her side to which Sariel gave a irritated expression. Rio was happy that he could now call her master to his hearts content, but Ema tells him not to do so.

Sariel asks Ema to go through the terms and conditions, but Ema was too tired to read all of them and simply signed the contract without even looking what’s in it (which is the most illogical thing to do) She says to herself that she wouldn’t regret the decision she made and walks away with Rio. What she didn’t realize is that there was a 99th clause saying that ‘After the selection period ends, ‘belle’ must not keep any relation with the king.’
