This newest fave writer tells their stories so beautifully well--I also recommend "Magpie" (M, ~6,700 words), another post-canon story that made me absolutely sob where Ed collects objects and compliments from Stede to keep hidden in case he loses Stede's love again.

"Andante, Andante" by @impossiblebird (E, ~9,000 words) is a modern AU depiction of Gentlebeard having sex for the first time after demisexual craft shop owner Stede's feelings for his boyfriend Ed develop in that direction--this feels really accurate to me as a demisexual person, and I so appreciate the positive representation! 💜

This is a gift for @empress-of-dancing-fire​ for the @steggyfanevents​ Secret Santa! Prompt was time travel. I had fun with it by making it not only a little time travel AU (or 70 years nap but double canon divergence) but also show the development of their relationship over time.

Steve and Peggy’s wild beginnings, the powerhouse boss-woman and the tiny soldier and the dance they never got... or did they?

They get together in the 40s and enjoy moments of bliss between Peggy’s work and Steve’s transition to Cap and going into the field.

Steve falls into the ice, and Peggy is taken by Hydra and turned into a Snow Queen - female version of a Winter Soldier. As they get thrown into the new world, in 2011, they have many meetings with therapists (and aliens) ahead but eventually they make it out. And they still have each other.

Eventually, things are going so great they settle into domestic bliss and take the step of adding a little stocking onto their mantle. Steve is having a hard time with the IKEA crib. 

Somewhere along the way, before Peggy starts to show, they choose to tie the knot. It’s just a formality but Tony organizes them the most beautiful ceremony one could ask for.

Their little girl is born. The little shield and the plushie are gifts from Natasha and Bucky. Pepper is the one to get them a newborn photoshoot. 

As their sweetheart grows, and they get to bask in the joys of parenting (sweet dreams, the thing of the past) a thought starts to appear in their minds... a little sibling for their princess. They buy another stocking by the end of the year.

When the girls get bigger, Peggy starts work again, as a lecturer at New York University. Steve still picks the shield up when necessary but mostly he’s a stay-at-home dad, and he’s loving it.

They have a good life, and it’s been long since the war. But now they finally get their dance, and to grow old together, and two lovely daughters who will make sure to take photos every time dad does something stupid (some things never change) and mom is cross with him.
