Alright, This is gonna be a lot, so thou shalt be warned

In the Au, Robert is a prince and Lanyon Sr. is the King, they rule over a small kindom somewhere in England - name TBA (so not like real monarchies which rule over entire countries etc.) The premise is basically; The Lanyon's personal/private doctor recently passed away so they call in a new doctor/chemist from Scotland - did you guess? yep, It's Jekyll. Hyde exists before Henry/Edward meets Robert (I haven't worked out the exact logistics about it yet, but I will) Jekyll/Hyde are more Chemists/Alchemists than Doctors but they are both still very good doctors regardless (so they don't really wear the 'plague mask' thing) I aged only Jekyll, Hyde and Lanyon down to about their early 20's so it matches around the original timing of when J&H met Robert in TGS. There are other smaller reasons but they aren't to important, all you need to know is that it doesn't really change anything

Lanyon is betrothed to Everly from a neighbouring kingdom -this is where it differs slightly from TGS, it's a political marriage not a lavender marriage. Neither Robert nor Everly are happy about this however, they are both only children in royalty so they don't really have an option.

Hyde is essentially the local gremlin that has in-built eyebags and a sense to sell you things not very discreetly that he probably shouldn't be selling. His Cape is comedically large and has a very extensive collection of illegal powders, drugs, and other nefarious items. Almost everybody knows Hyde becasue at some point they have all needed some rare item from him. - this is where the blackfog comes in (yes it exists!) the Blackfog is basically the same but Hyde really wants to go so he can buy/sell lots of items for his little side-business he has going on, however Lanyon Sr. is opposed to it and it's existence because well... illegal.

*Hyde also goes by: The Spirit of [insert Kingdom's name] at night (soooooo original, ik)

Jekyll stays pretty much the same, He really cares about his reputation so he can move up on the social ladder and create his own Science business at some point, and I mean he doesn't want to make a fool of himself in front of the King of all people, that wouldn't be a very good look, would it?

In this universe, The lodgers are all citizens of the small kingdom and they all sort of have different occupations/roles in the town. They can't all be scientists, but do not fear because they still as equally crazy and chaotic as before. Rachel is the Lanyon's personal chef but she also helps run the bakery in town with Mr. Doddle. Jasper looks after most of the animals and creatures in the kingdom, he used to be a farmer but moved to get away from home. I am yet to work out how Jekyll and Jaspers relationship dynamic stays the same in this universe but I will figure something out.

There is A LOT of Jekyon and Lanyde going on here, so I've got something for everyone, (there may or may not be a masquerade at some point...) and it's not just centred around romance, there is lots of other plot stuff happening so do not fear my ace/aro friends (or just people who aren't a fan of romance)!

Warning: Venting. Title is self explanatory ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Your eye twitched as you hear the front door to the studio open and close. Just another noise is needed to distract you. Again! Fucking frustrating.

"Baby, I'm home!" Johnny calls happily for you, grunting as he drops his duffle bag aside, filled with his props or outfits or guns, or wherever the fuck job he came from today.

You didn't call back. Grumbling as you forced yourself to lock in on the page before you. You were about to pull out your hair. Nothing has came to your mind for the past hours... days.... WEEKS!

Only one draft is needed nearly one day a week. So why are you always scarce?

Footsteps thumped to your little office den. "Oh, don't tell me you're still nesting here." Johnny enters and frowns as he was very much told silently.

The death look you gave him just checking up on you.

"Y/n, you're still trying to think of what to write for your paper-"

"You don't get it, you pretty boy bastard!" You hissed.

"Easy, easy." The actor held his hands up in pacifist. "Okay, if it's this bad, why don't you just... step down for a bit. This was an off and on thing for you, right?"

"Okay, yes! It is an on and off hobby for me. But I start caring too much. I don't want to stop, at the same time, I can't keep up. And if I can't keep up, I'll have to redo it all over again."

You pace around the room and speak so fast for him. The concerned blind guy only just follows you with his eyes. Looking at you like the weird hysterical young woman you are.

"It's not like I can force myself to just write ANYTHING. I'm too bougie to be posting dog shit plots. It gets obvious." You add on.

"Okay, are your emails open for your readers? Maybe they can help-"

"Okay, got it." Cage cleared his throat and looked away.

"I already feel pressured since I don't feel that motivated. I don't need more pressure being added onto me like that. I don't miss that feeling."

You stop to breath before furrowing your eyes.

"My emails are always opened to my beloved readers. I like hearing what they have to say and think of my work. But I know the second I decide to take requests, I'm going to be the next Cory."

"Who?" Johnny raises an eyebrow.

"Okay, okay!" You held your face in your  hands and took deep, deep breaths. Finally, you'll stop talking very fast and crazy.

"I... I don't want to stop posting stories. But... without any passion to write... and how I can't think of what to write. I don't think it's possible anymore. I keep telling and telling that I'm running low on pages, that writer's block is itching me, I still force myself to keep up the every six days expectation. And I end up having to post something I feel is crappy or too overused."

You stopped there not knowing what else to say. But it felt some sort of good on your part.

Johnny got to speak. "Look, Y/n. I get what you're saying. And it's okay if you end up slowing down. You'll get back to it whenever your mind is ready. But you can't be too harsh with yourself because that's what makes the fun turn into some nasty prison cell, whatever."

He pats your shoulders reassuringly.

"There's so many other important things you have to do in life. So, who cares if you post a day late. Or two. Or a month. Or maybe even a year and a half. It's your call. Tell all those self expectations to fuck off!" He half jokes and holds a middle finger up with the exclaim.

"Right." You smile.

Brawl Tier List (Based On The Relevance of What They Were Doing When We Meet Them In Subspace Emissary)

I'll explain some of my choices under the cut

So a lot of these choices are pretty obvious, although some are a bit iffy or require explanation of the Subspace story which can be found in trophy descriptions & The Dojo.

The first category was for characters who were engaged in the Subspace plot from the get-go and were the "good guys". In case you didn't know, King Dedede is the hero of Subspace, and if it weren't for him, Tabuu would have won, since he made the "reset badges", and his initial plan was to hold onto some people and give them the reset badges in case Tabuu used his Off Waves. Meta Knight is considered to be a good guy, even though he mostly just wanted to get the Halberd back. Fox I put into this category as well since he's first seen giving chase to the Halberd in his Arwing, so I consider that pretty engaged, even if we don't know the exact reasoning.

The second category is open and shut. They're the Bad Guys. Ganon, Bowser, and everyone's favorite winner, Wario. Technically Wario kinda defected from Tabuu and wanted to just steal all the trophies, but I'm counting him here.

Next was the "Used by Tabuu" tier. According to the lore, the entire Subspace Army is made from the power of Game and Watch (although it says the Game & Watch are unaware of this). Pikachu's electricity was being used to power a lot of the operations (most notably the Subspace Bomb Factory iirc). And it's implied that R.O.B was coerced into helping Tabuu, feeling so ashamed that he put on the Ancient Minister garb to hide himself out of shame.

The "Was Doing What You Expect" Tier is a tricky one, since some characters like Mario & Kirby weren't doing what you'd expect in their normal games, but they were fighting, which is something you'd expect in Smash, but I was kinda lenient. Pit was watching from Skyworld, which is in character. It's shown that Pokemon Trainer was looking for Ivysaur and Charizard, so we can assume he was on that journey when we found him in the Ruined Zoo. ZSS's motivations are kind of unclear about whether she knew about the Subspace Bombs and tried to stop them or if she just knew her Power Suit was there and wanted to get to it. I always figured it was the latter, so I'm putting it in this tier. Marth was defending a castle, which sounds right (I haven't played Fire Emblem). Ice Climbers were climbing ice. Monkeys were getting their bananas. Link was getting Master Sword. Yoshi was sleeping (which only gets him out of "Just Standing There" tier because he is Yoshi).

Next are the ones who just kinda showed up. And it so happens that all five of them make a pretty grand entrance. Sonic is the obvious example here. Ness also counts since there's no implication that either he or Lucas actually live in or even near the Ruined Zoo, but then again in the dialogue-less cutscenes tying together over 30 characters, I don't think that detail was important. Falco makes a grand entrance, although you could argue that he was meant to be Fox's backup. Ike makes a grand entrance with this Great Aether. Captain Falcon literally shows up to jump out of his car, punch a robot and kill approximately 50 aliens in one fell swoop, so either there was an F-Zero track around the Island of the Ancients that we don't see and he quit in the middle of his race to do that, or he just did that. Either way there's something wrong with him.

And then finally we have the characters who were Just Standing There. Luigi obviously was minding his own business when he got got by Dedede. Peach and Zelda I almost put in the "Doing What You Expect Tier" (or at LEAST Peach since she knew Mario at least), but honestly? They were just standing there. No hate, obviously. Sometimes you just gotta Stand There. Olimar was minding his own business letting his Pikmin eat a robot before they were murdered. Lucario was vibing on top of a mountain (as you do). Lucas was just being sad. And Snake? We don't see any sign that he's on a mission. We just see that he's been on the Halberd for an undisclosed period of time before dramatically revealing himself way way later. I like to imagine he accidentally fell asleep.

And then the last tier are for the 3 characters that are unlocked after Subspace, so I don't really count them.

ik this is a pretty dumb ask, but I gave it a shot💀

I'll be answering as a 'what if' and 'canon' for this one!

Before the Harbingers turn Yandere, they won't mind much. It'll annoy them slightly that Y/N, their prisoner, has a lot of people's attention meaning if they were to go missing so suddenly it could cause problems.

However, it won't cause any issues which doesn't have a solution. In their eyes, yandere or not, their sole priority as of when they entered this world is and has foremost been to deliver them to The Tsaritsa.

But, their actual mission will have to be delayed. They'll have to manipulatively control when Y/N goes to college and make them later and later, missing some days, before taking them away back to Teyvat.

Yandere-wise, they'd hate it. Just when they were starting to get used to you, Y/N, taking care of them and letting them help you with your education which deem important... They see you being followed by many humans similar to your age back to your house. You claim not to be interested with them, and find them nothing more as acquaintances.

But is that really the truth? You've lied to them a lot recently, especially when they first met you in the flesh. What's to say you're lying now to not only save yourself, but to save those pigs who see themselves as friends to you?

The Harbingers would get Childe and Columbina on the case. They look closest to your age, and are the most charismatic out of all the harbingers. If anyone can sneakily follow you to your college and threaten talk to those whom follow you around, it's them. The two would blend in with the students and act like newcomers, only approaching you when you ask them how they're there and what they think they're doing.

Childe and Columbina will somehow adjust to college life and glue themselves to your side. Soon enough, the crowds will get smaller and smaller. Those who seem too confident to stay by your side and dismiss their warnings will find either a limb missing, or themselves missing. They won't worry about the details either way, those who annoy the two harbingers will find themselves dead in unexplainable ways.

And the best part about it, you'll never know where your 'friends' went or why you're suddenly feared in the campus. All the Harbingers will hear you cry in your bedroom, who wouldn't? Unfortunately for you, it had to be done. Wipe your tears, and spend some time with them now, won't you?

Canon:

Nah dw this is pretty interesting - and it lets me communicate through my notes a bit more.

In the actual plot, you'll never see Y/N go to College due to the whole 'Missing' situation. But, I think I can reveal parts of their College life without spoiling too much of the plot.

As I've revealed in the earlier views, Y/N is a rather lazy and carefree person. They don't do much outside of College, and lie to their parents a lot.

Here are some sneaky little hints if anyone is interested:

There is a reason why nobody (college friends) has tried to contact Y/N after finding out that they're missing by the police or the news.

There is a reason why Y/N's other side of the family (their father's) hasn't bothered to help the police search for them.

There is a reason why Y/N hasn't attempted to message a friend or call for help.

There is a reason why Y/N has never, and will never become popular in College. Or any of their school years for that matter.

this season is so boring and overall without context. daemon spends his time being high on harrenhal. alicent is going through major depressio arc. helaena is her usual mumbling self without any agency of her own. aemond is terrible. rhaenyra is ... idk what they're doing with her but i don't like it. aegon ii seems to be the only remotely interesting character but now he's gone.

so glad there's only one episode left of this disaster to get through ... can't believe they made us wait so long for this shit ... personally won't be waiting for season 3 because at this point it's probably going to be just as boring.

When people tell people that Game of Thrones was slow paced and technically very little happened and this season is just like that and to cope... nope.

As you mentioned in the second to last paragraph there were so many interesting things they could've done with this season to fill the time and expand on the story and characters... Instead there are 3 locations where morning scenes happen that don't grow the characters at all, nobody has any realistic motivations or emotions and reactions to events (and if they do they're framed as incorrect, like Jace or Aegon). It's oversimplified and redundant. No thoughts to be provoked. No depth to explore. No arcs for characters except maybe Daemon but it's been stretched way too far out and made irrelevant. No intrigue or politics. No scheming. Characters seem displaced from the setting...

I hope season 3 is the last season, and I won't be tuning into any other ASOIAF adaptations based on the crap fanfic quality of this one that they're trying to present as profound, deep, groundbreaking television.

Veeery mild spoilers but one is a plot ‘twist’ that gets exposed in the first book and one is a content warning so. But also they all have a bit of violence which gets graphic at times so keep that in mind)

Ok there’s three different series by mxtx in release order: scum villain self saving system(svsss) (idk the Chinese name oops) the grandmaster of demonic cultivation or mo dao zu shi (mdzs) Heaven officials blessing or tian guan ci fu (tgcf)

I won’t include major spoilers but there’s still stuff like typical trigger warnings that I might want to add

Ok there’s a few different ways you could read them depending on how familiar/comfortable with different things

The easiest thing to say no for reading is sex, and while there are no plot points that you’ll miss by skipping anything and only once has there been a sex scene outside of an extra chapter this still could be important for some so I just wanna be sensitive. If you’re not totally comfortable with sexy stuff or want to build up to it go in this order:

Heaven officials blessing (nothing explicit, some innuendos and references and implied and it does happen but it’s never descriptive at all, I wouldn’t feel morally objectionable if I gave it to a young teenager)

The grandmaster of demonic cultivation (explicit extra chapters, is not generally sex related during the main plot)

Scum villains self saving system (has an explicit sex scene during the main plot, has multiple sex scenes in extra chapters, and has casual references to sex and sex jokes throughout)

If you’re not super familiar with Chinese names or words (idk you’re nationality but I’m American and white and it took me a minute for sure) or if you’re not familiar with xianxia terms then read in this order

Scum villain (mostly sticks to courtesy names so only one name per character, doesn’t get too deep into politics, and doesn’t rely to heavily on genre knowledge for worldbuilding without explaining it)

Heaven officials blessing (has like three different names per character, gets pretty deep into those Heaven officials drama, but easy enough to follow once you know the characters, relies a little on the reader already being familiar with the genre but does enough of its own worldbuilding that it’s honestly fine if you were familiar with Chinese names then this would be the easiest to rawdogg and understand what’s happening)

Mo dao zu shi (uses both given and courtesy names and nicknames and every name under the Sun to refer to a character, gets suuuuper deep into inter-sect drama, and got a little hard to follow at points keeping track of family trees and which sect was where and that guys sister is who’s wife?? Might need a whiteboard idk, also most of the worldbuilding is around the politics and sects relationships so if you don’t know much about the genre might want to pull up the fandom wiki)

hello again anon!! i'm very flattered u think it's impressive 🥺 i truly love creating spaces for these guys! i'll try my best to kinda go into my process but be warned.. like anything else i do it's pretty much just chaos/winging it dkjsdkj (it'd be much easier if i used floorplans or smth simple so i could be like, here do this! but alas...)

okay i'm prolly gonna ramble a lot here but i mostly base my builds off random visions/future scenes that pop into my head or straight up vibes.. which isn't very helpful ik but hopefully if i explain it'll make a bit more sense!

so with Oscar's house above i knew i wanted it to be BIG, but i didn't want it to feel like a mansion they couldn't afford so i added some other houses on the lot and just gave em the biggest plot! i also knew i wanted it to be symmetrical, but only from the outside cos i wanted it to feel slightly chaotic on the inside, also hence the random tower addition on the left and the sunroom on the right.. like it used to be a big grand symmetrical "mansion" (prolly at the time it was built) but over the years kinda ended up as a convoluted mess left to rot until someone rescued it (yay for Oscar's impulsivity 🤸‍♀️) AND IT NEEDED AN ATTIC!! u kno cos where else would Clementine live?? 👻

so really i had no inspo pics or house plan layouts to go off here, just a vibe and an idea, i started with a rough shape and worked out all the kinks from there, then added the other lots.. be prepared to hate your wip and start over tho cos ig it's all part of the fun!

here we have an actual wip to use as an example! so with this one i basically knew i wanted a wrap around style house around a "courtyard" but since mt. komo is shit and doesn't have any decent sized lots we'll have to go with an L-shaped design and a third floor ig 😩 i started with the ground floor and just pissed around with the others until i ended up with smth just right, like anything else i do, building is just ruminating on an idea until i'm like.. yeah that works sdkjskj.. also handy to place the bare minimum furniture items as u go to get a feel of how the space does or doesn't work so u can fix it n stuff!

also feel free to make shit look strange if it works, for example these window placements look weird as hell on the outside, but real life houses aren't always symmetrical or perfect on the outside and we spend most of our time on the inside where the windows make perfect sense so.. yeah! i'm big on views from the INSIDE of the house so i just make stuff work, also big fan of using ivy/wall decs n stuff to "fix" the way it might look on the outside if needs be too..

the school i made for Robin n' co. was entirely built around this pool (cos it's IMPORTANT) and the fact that it had to have a glass roof (it just HAD to ok idk why but we must kneel to the vision when it strikes 🧎‍♀️) i tried to make the rest of it make sense around it tho, like maybe it was added on afterward so the rest is a pretty standard shape with offices n shit near the entrances etc.. ALSO (wait i actually need to explain smth else before we get to this also BUT BEAR WITH ME!)

ask yourself some questions (if u want? or just dl a house idk dskjdk)

i treat building similarly to writing and that means asking yourself some questions.. like you might ask why a character is doing/saying something, what happened in the past to make them this way? what're they aiming for in the future to choose these paths etc etc.. WELL.. what's this building for, who is it for, who chose to live here, who got stuck here, why do they like it, why do they hate it, etc etc.

we either get stuck somewhere we hate and it doesn't suit us, or we're lucky enough to choose somewhere that we love, but why? Oscar's house is sprawling and chaotic because they kinda are, and it suits them! all the random cupboards leading nowhere and the quirky additions are just perfect for them, if they were real people looking for a real house they'd view it and LOVE it, but other characters definitely would NOT 😅 the wip is neat and practical cos the people who're gonna live there are! 👀 and the school (see we got to that ALSO eventually) has that huge "grand" courtyard at the front that's actually pretty useless because it's a shitty comprehensive school that wants to give the image that it's decent, but actually it's a bit shit and there's nothing going on in the back, nowhere for the kids to play outside and very limited resources/equipment for them either.. like everything is built the way it is for a reason, which is why i think i find it so impossible to use other ppls builds, cos they don't fit all these visions in my mind...

ok i'm gonna shut up now but i HOPE this rambling mess somewhat explains how i go about starting a build and why.. i'm not sure i can help with the vision part since your brain is your own but floorplan websites and things like pinterest or even just google images are great for giving you ideas if you're struggling!

Omg my guy I will try my very best because I am nowhere near done with this, idk what I'm doing, and it's hard to be comprehensive FHDJDHSK I am not good at writing stories or aus, I will admit, so like please bear with me here 🙏

Ok ok ok, so, first of all, the basics. It is a... Very strange story that will mainly revolve around Stan/Marshwalker, but it will have changing POVs of his friends as well, and there are other characters to help them out too. And a bit of Damien. PLEASE STAY JUST HEAR ME OUT-

The entire area is made up of THREE clans: Southclan, Westclan, and Eastclan, which is where all the characters are spread out. Up in the north where the mountains are is the Tribe, aka the Canadians, who are all a bunch of cat breeds different from the ones in the forest because they can't survive from the outside conditions (hence why Ike is a little sphynx cat when adopted), but they don't really show up in this story.

As for the afterlife, it's kinda hard to do considering there is many religions, but in the actual books, it mainly focuses on Starclan and the Dark Forest. Now, obviously, Satan rules the Dark Forest, but there are also different afterlives mentioned in the books as well? But there are also many religions in South Park, so, most likely in this au, the Super Best Friends will just share ruling Starclan with God, except Jesus, and there is a reason for that.

Because, I'd like to imagine that in this au Jesus is an ex-prophecy cat who had founded the clans at their current home many years ago, and now he just kinda roams the forest and chills in different clans. Said location he founded is the same as in the show, meaning they're in the forest and mountain valleys of South Park, Colorado. And this is important because you see, one day, for the entire plot of my au, a leader will receive a prophecy from God in his dreams.

"A great fire shall consume the lands, and the mountains will shake with anger. The clans must flee and find a new home, but be warned; there are those unwilling to abandon ancient grounds."

(I'm not good at making up prophecies so yeah)

Now, I do not know which leader I will give the prophecy to, not that it really matters, but I am still iffy on my whole clan organization in general. I'm constantly switching characters around or putting them back and changing roles. And this is just with the kids so far in the clans. I've yet to do most of the adults (I haven't touched my notes app in so long shhhh)

But, if I were to actually make this into a comic/story (who knows), the leader will definitely reveal the prophecy during a Gathering, so that way you guys can see all the different characters from different clans and their relationships and stuff, since a Gathering is a truce moment for the clans. And all the leaders say "HOGWASH, that's a load of baloney. Sure, an actual cat that runs our afterlife spoke to you, but there's no way something as bad as a fire will drive us out. We'll just leave and come back. Easy peasy."

But no, guys, it's not that simple, because you see, the clans don't know this, but they all live near a FUCKING VOLCANO THAT IS GOING TO FUCKING ERUPT. And the only people who know this are Stan and the other kids, after Stan gets a bad feeling about the tremors that occur during the story and they all sneak away from the clans momentarily to find the source of the problem.

Now, no one believes them, because they are just little kits who ran off without permission and are just making up stories (and this is South Park, the adults are stupid). So, they decide to take matters in their own hands. One group of kids will scout out to find a new home (the SP B-Plot), while the others will try to convince their respective clans to please listen to them and show proof (the SP A-Plot).

But another problem! Satan is dreamwalking in other cat's dreams and whispering promises and temptations in their ears to convince them to stay. Some are swayed, and some refuse, one of which is obviously Stan, because he will not stand around and let his family die with his home, and the other is Damien, which... Is sorta like a Brambleclaw/Hawkfrost/Tigerstar situation. Except he's like both of the siblings and his father is like Tigerstar. A situation where Damien is young and impressionable and eager to please his father and do his bidding, but he is also battling inside of himself on whether he should actually follow in Satan's footsteps and bring the demise of hundreds of cats.

So basically my AU is a poorly written story about Stan and his friends racing against the clock of the volcano to get their families far away to find a new home for the clans.

Sorry I didn't have much to share and that this au is not very polished like most in the South Park community, but this is what I've gotten so far. I've... Mainly been focusing on naming the characters, designing them, and assigning them their respective clans instead of the plot. I've also been mixing some SP canon with my AU canon (for example, the reason Pip is bullied is not just because he's British, but because he briefly left the clans to woo Estella, who is a kittypet. So it's just a copy of the episode "Pip", just with a Warriors twist).

hi!! ikesoren height anon again, thank you for the detailed answer!! i honestly loved how thorough it was, but you talking about the height and weight stats in-game also made me think—soren's probably not wearing any armor into battle with a weight stat like that, huh?? ike being even heavier than he is tall makes sense because he's got armor and a big sword and whatnot, but soren is really just charging into battle in nothing but a shirt and cloak... i know mechanically it's somewhat normal for mage classes in these kinds of games to only wear light/leather armor or even just cloaks, but i wonder how ike feels about soren waltzing into fights with zero padding lol

Hi height anon! Yeah, like you said, it's pretty typical for Fire Emblem mages not to wear much in the way of armor. Typical fantasy RPG things. (His strength stat in FE9 starts at, uh. Zero.)

But on the general topic of Ike worrying over Soren/being protective over him, there's a couple of things this ask brought to mind, like these quotes from Soren's introductory chapter.

Shinon: All right, Ike. Let’s see how you handle the role of captain. Well? What are your orders, boy? We’ll do what you say, so long as you hurry up and spit it out! Ike: I know, I know! I’m thinking! Give me a moment, will you, Shinon? Shinon: Bah. Useless! We’d be better led with Mist than this soft, untested whelp. Ike: Let’s see…We’re in the middle of the road, and there’s not much cover. Soren and Rhys are vulnerable, so we have to protect them from enemy attacks…Right? Soren: That’s a sound strategy, Ike. I can attack from behind your defenses. Good thinking. Ike: Do you mean that? Um…all right! Let’s do that then.

(FE9, Chapter 4.) For context, Ike's the son of a mercenary commander and this is the first job he's been given lead over, so he's very much still learning how to command -- so this is a little bit tutorial-y for players, built into the script, since Soren is your first mage and positioning him behind a character with better defense like Ike is a pretty good strategy for training him up. (There's also some boss dialogue much later where Shinon accuses Soren of, quote, "hiding behind Ike's apron.") The above is the default, where everyone is alive, but there's this variation if you've (somehow) gotten multiple other characters killed.

Soren: Ike, do you have any ideas on how you want to approach this fight? Ike: Let’s see…We’re in the middle of the road, and there’s not much cover. You’re vulnerable, so I have to be sure you’re protected from enemy attacks, right? Soren: Right. Er…sorry for the trouble…but I appreciate the consideration. Ike: Sure. All right, let’s do that then.

I think the awkwardness of this variation is really cute, tbh, down to Soren apologizing for the trouble. It fits considering how young they both are at this point in the game, and that it takes place in the early chapters before war breaks out.

And then a variety of "death" quotes -- Soren is too plot important to actually be killed before the very final chapters of FE10, so if you do get him killed, Ike will order him to retreat. (Classic Fire Emblem has permadeath for characters, and it's sort of an in-joke-that's-not-entirely-a-joke that a lot of players, including me, will just reset if characters die. Listen, it's the right way to play. But I always like looking at the death quotes, they tell you a lot about the characters, and Soren has a lot of special ones.)

Soren: Oof! That was…poorly done. Ike: Retreat, Soren! You’ve done all you can here! Soren: But, Ike… Ike: You heard me. Fall back! You can still help us with our planning. Besides, if you tell us all what to do, we’ll be better off, right? Soren: I… I understand… Please…be careful!

(Up until FE9, chapter 17.)

Soren: Oh… Ow! Ike: Hold it, Soren! You’re not staying in this a moment longer! Withdraw! Soren: Ike, I can still– Ike: Our tactician isn’t allowed to make faces like that. Ever! Listen, we need you planning our strategies at base, so leave that attitude behind. That is unless you have a problem with the two of us in command. Soren: Of-of course not! I didn’t see… … I understand. But listen… Stay safe, Ike.

And, okay, listen, not on the subject of Ike being protective, but Soren's endgame actual death quote is a lot.

There's also some fun game mechanics at play -- if you have Ike and Soren next to each other in FE9, Ike negates critical hits against Soren. Soren is the only character he does this for, notably.

The possessed version of Ike from the mobile game also explicitly warns only three characters to stay away from him so he won't hurt them -- Mist, his sister; Titania, his surrogate mom; and Soren.

WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT!!??!??!???

First of thx so much! Now, onto my many complaints about s4!

Let's start positively.

The first episode was really good and refreshing. It set up a good idea for the season and how the characters have developed.

But then...

Lila.

They completely ruined her character she had pretty much no emotional connection to.. anything! Her part of the story in s4 was horribly written.

Including her family.

Seeing how important family was for Lila in s2 (particularly the end), it just doesn't make sense how she was so easily persuaded to leave them. Her and her Deigos' kids were also badly written (yes ik they were side characters) bc let's be honest, their kids should not be that normal.

It also just doesn't make sense for Lila to be a stay at home mum she's just way too (for lack of a better word) adventurous to stay at home all day. I have the same issue with Deigo being a mail man that job is just too boring for him, and they're both very well qualified for a much better job, so why!?

Five and Lila.

It is so disgusting and unnecessary no matter how you try to look at it. It also just doesn't make sense with the characters. Lila shows no interest in five at any point and vice versa. And looking back at s1 five, he cares way too much about family, especially Deigo, to do that.

Which brings me to my next point LITERALLY NOTHING IS CONSISTENT!!!!!! it's like the writers wrote a whole different show bc nothing matches up with the past seasons!! (No, I'm not giving examples. There are way too many)

The last episode feels very rushed. Idk how to really elaborate, but yk.

KLAUS.

Oh my poor klaus, what have they done to you.

I really wish they had explored his character more. Like, yes, he had a side plot, but it didn't explore his character it just gave him more screen time. He is my favourite! They had so much potential! Now, ik going from being immortal to mortal would be terrifying, but this is klaus, he wouldnt just stop wearing amazing outfits bc he's more likely to die he would still wear bright clothes and pokadot masks and shit. This brings me to my next point.

ALL THE OUTFITS ARE SO BORING.

Before, it was easy to spot most of them in a crowd (except for Viktor, which was intentional), but now the outfits are boring and general and don't tell you anything about the characters.

Also, they did Sloane so dirty they mention her once, then nobody cares! Luther loved Sloane so much ik he would still be grieving.

Also, they didn't think the story through bc if none of the academy existed, then neither should their kids, and this would cause another grandfather paradox!

Brisket Five was the only good thing in this season.

I respect that you have concerns about possible homophobia behind criticism of Scott, but your post about it used some inaccurate information.

Grian cheating is actually a recurring plot point in many desert duo fanfics. It isn't ignored. The difference is that when discussing the CCs, Grian's cheating was actually a result of wanting to switch up his content (Double Life happened after a post on the Hermitcraft subreddit where Grian was criticized for always grouping up with Scar and Mumbo), while behavior towards Jimmy often doesn't have as clear of an OOC reason for it.

Furthermore, Scott isn't the only one who gets flack for how he treats Jimmy - to use a recent example, people had major issues with Sausage's behavior towards Jimmy in Minecraft SOS. To use an older example, Jimmy had to reassure chat in one of his Raft streams that he was okay with how Grian, Joel, and fWhip (all married to women) were treating him, and even repeated that reassurance when he cut it down into a shorter video.

It's also important to note that Scott isn't the only LGBTQ content creator in the MCYT sphere. Joey Graceffa is gay; Lizzie, Gem, and Cleo are bi; Shubble is ace. You also make assumptions in your post that Pearl is straight, which we don't know for sure, as she's private about her personal life. While she has a boyfriend (at least I'm pretty sure he's a boyfriend), she often refers to him as a roommate instead of a boyfriend, and she could very well be bi/pan or ace. We don't know, and assuming people are straight as default can cause issues.

Thoughts on Kalego VS. Aizawa as teachers

They're an interesting comparison because while being similar on paper, there's a lot of differences in how they actually play their role in the plot

bnha is more focused on the hero part than the academia part, where m!ik is equally focused on the "welcome", the "demon world", and the "iruma" parts of the title. bnha is all about Izuku's path to best hero ever, we're told that almost right away and it's all about that destination, and while it is obvious that Iruma is going to end up being the next demon king, that destination is not as important to the story as the journey to it.

Since these stories are fundamentally structured differently in their protagonists and focuses, the roles of "grumpy teacher to protagonist" is also going to be structured differently.

Well, m!ik is an isekai. Iruma is a normal enough human, though one with a tragic backstory, taken to a very different world. bnha is the opposite- Izuku's initially the fish out of water in his own world, but once he gets his quirk that kinda goes away. As much as fic writers would like to pretend otherwise, Izuku does not think of his own former quirkless status that much. Iruma, on the other hand, is rather aware of his human status. and those two differences feed into the socieity examining aspect of the stories, which influences the roles the teachers play.

Both teacher's initial purposes involve being an obstacle to the main character- Kalego's flying race for ranking, and Aizawa's quirk assessment ranked test. Both are pretty antogonistic and already don't have high opinions of Iruma/Izuku due to things that happened before they properly met.

But Aizawa is representative of a good hero who does not mesh well with hero society expectations, and Kalego is representative of a bad demon who does mesh very well with demon society expectations.

So Aizawa's expulsion threat is an anomaly, as is his underground status. That said, he is very good at his hero job and is someone that the student characters are supposed to look up to and emulate in at least some ways

Kalego, on the other hand, doesn't even actually control the initial ranking, he just facilitates it. the ten-rank system is built into demon society and Kalego fits well in that way, with his own high rank and power level. But Kalego is also not a demon the student characters are supposed to take as an example, at least not at first and not in the same way as Aizawa. The Naberius clan is weird for demons, they've got a dog blood curse instead of a proper familiar or bloodline magic, and they're disciplined in a way demons usually aren't. I wouldn't be surprised if there were Naberius archers out there, for example. But Kalego's discipline is not like Iruma's human discipline, nor are Kalego's traits ones that Iruma particularly needs to pick up to grow into a demon king. Maybe later with the music festival, but overall? eh.

And their later actions can be compared too- the Heartbreaker Exam is 95% a better designed test for the students than the Hero Course Semester Exams, even though both involve the basic idea of students v teachers. Kalego and demon teachers had a better plan for testing each student.... uuuuuntil you get to "jazz actually getting tortured" and then the test continuing after iruma is almost kidnapped by a traitor on the staff. It'd be like if Aizawa said "hey nedzu and snipe, keep going with the rescue lesson with any uninjured students while the injured are hospitalized with me, they won't get a break after a villain attack in the real world!" and um. yeah i don't think Aizawa would have said that even if he had been conscious. Kalego... did. and that difference ties back to what exactly the main characters are supposed to learn. Both Izuku and Iruma are supposed to trust their teachers with their learning and well-being, but while Iruma is also supposed to learn about the mechanisms of demon society and how to command powerful demons like Kalego, Izuku is really only supposed to pick up various strategies from Aizawa so he doesn't only have All Might to mimic.

Setting

So this au takes place in the early to mid 1920s somewhere around Brooklyn, New York I think, not sure when and where exactly yet- It’s been 6 years since some past events, (which I’ll write about later) and this is also when the Prohibition Era started, so speakeasy’s and small bootlegging joints are starting to pick up.

Characters and other stuff

In this au Bendy is one of the top bootleggers for “The Vigilante” speakeasy, a pretty successful and popular speakeasy at that, located on the edge of a forest and under the ownership of Mr. Allen. Bendy’s best friend and main partner is Alice (just because why not) and usually go together when doing pickups, robberies, etc… Their getaway driver, William Click, is also good buddies with the both of them and is the one who takes the booze back to “The Vigilante”. William is also the bartender at “The Vigilante”. There are other partners that Bendy and Alice work with but it’s usually for bigger jobs. Phill or Philip is the “Vigilante’s” personal nurse, he lives over in the forest in a decent sized house and that is where anyone seriously injured is sent over. He’s very reserved so he’s usually not in the speakeasy. Margret is Mr. Allen’s personal assistant and maid, she’s very kind and loves company and reading.

There’s a rival speakeasy called “The Chokeberry” whom’s run by Betty Francis. The two speakeasies are equally popular, but they don’t usually ever cross paths. 

Now to the good guys ig, Detective Stein (yes he’s a private detective here) with fake first name Martin, his two partners Tom “Boris”, and Allison usually are the accompany him to crime scenes and other things of the sort. He’s not usually supposed to be let in since he’s a private detective- but he’s been able to work his way around that a few times. Detective Stein is pretty well known in the area as a very kind man and extraordinary when it comes to solving cases. Tom is the brute force of the trio while Allison is usually the gunner.

Detective May is a detective in the local police department and usually rivals Stein when solving any case. She usually gets very upset whenever she see’s Stein at a crime scene. Linda Howell is her personal assistant (yep she’s here too), she usually files the paperwork that May doesn’t want to handle, although she does wish to be on the scene investigating instead of lying around in an office.

Det. Stein and Linda also work together in secret to get more information on the “Ink Demon” case specifically because the both of them take quite an interest to it. The reason it’s secret is because if May found out she would definitely not be happy-

That’s basically it, again expect changes and little edits here and there because i might change or add smth to the story later :)

Another thing to note is that Bendy doesn’t know Det. Stein is Henry since he’s a cartoon now and yk changed his name

i am back w more rants this time abt one of my other characters (hopefully this one will be shorter, ik you say you dont mind but i feel bad every time i go to check in on your blog and i have to scroll past the multiple bibles i sent you... so im sending even more bibles to you-)

her name is Willow "Heartbreak" Bark. she wears a pink, white and gold venetian mask and her weapon of choice is brass knuckles. her specialty is bait and she thought that going out to the middle of the forest wearing a mini skirt and a crop top was a good idea. i am starting by listing her in-game characteristics because i truly don't know how to properly introduce Willow and all the shitshow that goes on with her-

unlike Ariel, Wills actually fits perfectly well in the slsq universe and i think that should say smth abt her character right away. honestly adapting her to fit into the story was the easiest thing ever because this is exactly the kind of shit she would get herself into.

she's a trans woman who grew up on the US somewhere south (i am not american and know just as much abt american geography as i do abt british geography), which is only important bc she has a subtle southern american accent, and despite Newcreed not having a set location i am going to say for plot purposes it is not located on the south in Willow's timeline. anyway

she's a country girl! born to a middle-to-high class family that owned a big estate with all the things a farm usually has (cattle, horses, fields, crops, etc). they had workers to help take care of everything, but the kids were encouraged to help with chores and learn some husbandry as a way to "build character". her parents were an extremely conservative bunch, and their parenting mainly consisted of being distant and pretending their kids didn't exist until they were useful for them, which for Willow specifically meant that she started developing people pleasing tendencies and a never ending quest for approval pretty early on in life.

Wills learns that she's beautiful at quite the young age. she also learns that using that beauty for her benefit is quite easy to do, that flattery and emotional bonds, no matter how fake, would get her far. and if she can play the victim well enough when she does something wrong, she'll be able to get away with it.

personality-wise, Willow has always been charismatic. a bit of a flatterer, a bit of a jokester, a lot of confidence and an extreme flirt. seriously, this woman will flirt w anything that has the ability to consent. if you have pants, she's trying to get in them. and sometimes it's even genuine! ...she mostly uses it as a manipulation tactic tho. i mean, there's no reason it can't be both! (im always so excited for playing as Willow bc she always ends up w the MESSIEST relationship stat screens. i can't wait to see how that translates into slsq)

in her teen years, she was picked on a lot for being "feminine" and having mostly girl friends (at the time, she still thought she was cis), despite being a jock and considered quite popular. she was also the one "guy" who had gone out w the most girls of the entire school. even back then, Wills was already considered a heartbreaker, someone who couldn't stay in a relationship for more than 2 months (spoilers: that doesn't change and probably only gets worse as she gets older).

it's not until her late teens that she starts really questioning her gender, and the reason it happens is because she gets drunk and finally sleeps w "another" man for the first time. from there, everything starts going downhill. she goes through a difficult period of self-discovery and coming to therms w her gender and her sexuality. when she finally begins to transition, her parents become suddenly extremely invested in her personal life in a way they hadn't ever been before. 

they threaten to disown her if she starts HRT. so she hangs her head, cries, and promises she would  never do smth like that.

one day her parents wake up to the fire alarm going off. Willow's bedroom had catched on fire, with her most important belongings missing, one of their best trucks gone from the garage and their bank account sucked dry.

they never saw Willow again.

running away like that was... maybe not the best idea Wills ever had. like every major decision she makes in her life, it was done on impulse, driven by pure rage, with no backup plan and a half baked, somehow extremely well executed idea, that sustained her on pure luck and adrenaline for the years that followed. 

her parents were pissed. maybe setting the house on fire was overkill, maybe they actually loved her after all and didn't want her gone, but it most likely was because of the thousands of dollars that suddenly went missing that made them so invested in trying to catch her and bring her back.

how did she get her hands on that much money so suddenly without anyone noticing until it was too late? great question! short answer: not important, what matters is she did. long non-answer: Willow's major skill has always been networking. she's very good at meeting people and charming people and getting them on her side, asking favors and having them do what she wants. would she have known how to transfer so much money without getting caught? hell no! but she definitely knows someone who would.

for a few years, life was a bit of a struggle. a lot of running away until she finally managed to change her name and appearance to something that would fit her best, and throw off the cops at the same time. honestly, her ending up in Newcreed is no coincidence. she knew she wouldn't be bothered there.

her meeting Carter is also not a surprise in the least. remember when i said one of her major skills is networking? someone like Carter could turn out to be very useful at some point. that makes him worthy of adding to her never ending contact list.

she worked as a stripper and sex worker for a while, when her parent's stolen money started to run dry. a very important thing to know abt Willow is that she's a party girl. she likes to have fun. she loves sex and drugs and alcohol, she's not squeamish and she knows "fun" can be made up of many different things, but it's always better when there's a little risk involved, isn't it? until one day she parties a little too close to the sun.

gambling is very fun, you see, and also happens to give her a chance to earn even more money if she gets lucky, and Willow has always been quite lucky. she's not afraid to take risks, she's not afraid to jump into things headfirst, she's definitely not afraid to commit to things with no backup plan and deal with the consequences later.

and that's how she ends up in crippling debt.
