From this morning’s I Jio You Sketchwalk @ Bussorah / Arab Street. Great turnout despite the scorching weather. The place was abuzz with tourists taking in all the pre-Hari Raya festivities.

Haven’t sketched for mere weeks and I could already feel the rustiness in my chops… just wasn’t feeling it. 😬 Well at least the company was wonderful – sketch buddies like Shirley, Mdm Tia, Alvin, Anne, etc. 🥰

Sunny and humid morning, but we had a great time exploring the quaint, but serene and scenic heartland neighbourhood of Clementi Ave 3.

Bookended by fellowship over meals and an after lunch visit to Art Friend, which is really nearby, it was a fun day out at this #49 I Jio You outing.

My piece from this morning’s I Jio You Sketchwalk at Tiong Bahru. Stressful sketching with cameras looming over one’s shoulders; so anyhow whacked. 😅 This little township will always have a special place in my heart, ‘cos I’d roamed these streets with my mom as well as in a bike with my childhood friends for years as a kid. My piece from our I Jio You Sketchwalk at Tras Link Park yesterday. The colorful installation art (called A-Maze) in the middle of the park is currently displaying the blown-up paintings of 5 of our sketchers (including mine), and will be there till Dec 2020. Chose this vantage point cos I love how it captures everything in one small area in the heart of Downtown: commercial buildings, green spaces, art installations, and residential buildings... all at once. My sketch from this morning’s I Jio You Sketchwalk along Serangoon Road... Came late and went a round taking pics. So anyhow whack cos only had less than an hour to do it. 😂 It wasn’t easy with trucks, buses and cars blocking our line of sight every few secs. Solution? Simplify the foreground busyness. 😆 Catching up with good friend @karenannetham made it stress-free and a lot of fun. Joined Mdm Tia @tiastudio , and the @sutdsg students at their Sketchwalk this morning, at Boat Quay, along our glorious Singapore River this morning. This is arguably my favorite scene in SG. What a fun and energetic group, and it was like a gathering of @usk.sg veterans! Nice catch up. And it was nice to ride down for the Sketchwalk with my long time sketcher pal @cherngzhi (Erwin) who just 8 months ago came back home to SG from his teaching stint in HK. What a nostalgic morning sketching the place where I spent a lot of time at as a child... the white 9-storey block above People’s Park Complex was my auntie’s old place. Not much has changed structurally in the area; just that today’s People’s Park has a more international vibe as most of the food and services businesses obviously are more aimed at Chinese foreigners living in Singapore.
