The day had waned into a night full of sparkling stars and a half moon. Half the kingdom was asleep and those who were still awake had gone inside into the warmth of shelter long ago.

Inside the castle the servants were beginning to retire as well and the few nobles that hung around sat in the many studies drinking their fill of wine. The men smoked cigars and spoke of politics and philosophy. The women gossiped while playing card games and betting wages for the fun of it. 

Rapunzel learned long ago that happy nobles meant happy kingdoms and most here tonight were regulars in the castle. Some were distantly related to the crown, some were married into it. She had uncles and aunts and cousins she wasn’t sure she was really related to, but smiled and greeted them as such for the sake of keeping peace. They were harmless enough, many just wanted her attention.

The sound of a lady cheering her good fortune pulls her from her daze long enough to see the Lady’s husband looked up, breathed out his cigar smoke and continue on with his conversation. Behind the man she sees a tuckered out child with his tiny head pressed against the folds of her mother’s dress. Rapunzel watches long enough to see the family retire and the child gets carried away in his father’s arms.

It wasn’t much of a party but there was something in the lazy daze of the night that made Rapunzel’s stomach knot anyway. She felt anxious in the lull of their contentment and the more she drank and tried to be present the more she felt distant to it all.

She belonged in this room more than anyone but all she wanted to do at that moment was to take off her shoes and run into the gardens to breathe in the night.

Rapunzel takes a deep breath and resolves herself to another early night.

Just as she was about to announce she would be retiring for the night her hand brushes accidentally against another's. She gave a small jump, and the smaller hairs that framed her face flew with the momentum. There was a moment of silence between them and before the other woman could say a word Rapunzel tugs on her hand and lead her out of the room with the sound of chatter dwindling to murmurs in the background.

The only thing that followed after were Rapunzel's hurried steps and that of her captive until she stops abruptly and turns around to face them. The smile she wore could rival the sun’s glow in its brilliance.

“I hope you don’t mind but I was getting fidgety in there,” she said with a pucker and roll of her eyes. Rapunzel began walking, albeit it slower than before and takes a breath. “I like them don’t get me wrong, I just couldn’t continue listening to the saaame booooring conversations any longer. The first few times were interesting but now it just sounds like a song being played on repeat.”

She adds, as if it was a secondary thought, "You also looked like you needed an escape."

— I’M ALMOST DONE WITH MED SCHOOL LETS FREAKING GO — i’m currently learning norwegian ! jeg snakker litt norsk ! — i have an accidental dual citizenship in sealand because i got too into hetalia in high school and then did a project on this micro nation called sealand and then when i was looking up how to become a citizen for the project i accidentally bought like . a cubic centimeter of their land i guess ?? and then i checked wiki the next day and their population had gone up by one so if the united states ever decides to recognize this abandoned oil rig off the coast of england as a legitimate nation i am in big trouble

EXPERIENCE

HOW LONG — ever since i was 12 ! i started on a forum called weareheretotalk ( which is gone now ) WHAT PLATFORMS — the aforementioned one , then chickensmoothie ( yes i’m serious ) , then twitter , and NOW tumblr and discord ! BEST EXPERIENCE — i’m gonna be controversial and say it’s a tie . i really appreciate the atmosphere and people here WAY more than twitter but i think twitter will always have a special place in my heart because it’s where i met my friends <3 oh and group discord roleplay is fantastic

MUSE TYPE

FEMALE OR MALE — it REALLY depends . i tend to have more male muses in general but i think a lot of that comes down to me enjoying sidekick characters and the sidekick characters having he/him pronouns so FLUFF , ANGST OR SMUT — i don’t really do smut since the characters i muse tend to be from media that’s geared towards children and i just can’t really . imagine them doing anything . as for fluff versus angst , i enjoy both a lot ! ! angst revolving around arguments has to be pretty plotted out for me due to bad experiences in the past , but there’s nothing wrong with our characters just — chilling and getting to know each other ! PLOTS OR MEMES — yes LONG OR SHORT REPLIES — whatever you have muse for ! i know muse can fluctuate , and it can be hard to always match length . as for me personally , i PREFER long , but — as you can probably tell if you’ve made it this far — i am NOT a concise person so . yeah . BEST TIME TO WRITE — with med school my schedule is super all over the place , but my muse almost always strikes at night or in the evening . i’m currently in EST time ! ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S) — eh ? it depends on who the muse is . i don’t really see any of myself in nod or elsa , but i see a lot of myself in hiccup ( awkward , feeling a little bit like an outcast when i was younger , PISCES!!!! PISCES NATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11!!11 )and honey lemon ( enthusiastic science enjoyer ) . I’m sure if i dug deep enough i could find similarities between myself and all of them .

what type of "oh" are you?

the startled laugh.

you realize with an abrupt laugh and a quiet "oh no". you realize with a confused bubble of a noise in your throat, a thing you can't control, and it doesn't stop, as long as they're around for you, for anything. you've never really understood the premise of something like this, after all those sorts of things are tropes - they happen in books, and in movies, and in games… but in real life? they can't be real, they don't HAPPEN. but here you are, eyes wide in realization as that cliche word fumbles past your lips - oh. oh no. (oh…)
