Summary: One morning in Altissia, Noctis realizes that he must face his destiny with Luna. However, he has something he can’t let go. He decides to get reckless.

“Noct, we should get up.”

The ever early Ignis looks down at the raven-haired man who snuggled in his arms for the entire night.

“5 more minutes…” Noctis groan in annoyance, as he shifted his position to face Ignis’ chest and clings at him like a tired koala.

Ignis sighs as he wears his spectacles, adjusting them properly at the bridge of his nose. “Be mindful that we shall prepare for the ceremony between you and Lady Lunafreya so we can’t waste too much time.”

Noctis would have complied since this ceremony was important for him, for his father, the people of Lucis, his good friends, and his bride-to-be. After all, it was really part of the plan to begin with.

But throughout the entire journey, he has started to doubt himself especially the arrangement that he has to follow.

Sure, the peace treaty was a sham by the Empire, and he has to meet Luna at the altar in order for them to be wed and to gain approval from Leviathan.

But he had much to learn, and he’s afraid of letting go what he’s holding right now.

“Just this once Iggy, please.” He never looked up and kept his eyes closed shut, but there was a subtle bittersweet tone coming from his mouth.

Ignis on the other hand, swore an oath to the fallen king to assure that he will always be at Noctis’ side, and he’ll be able to assist him on his journey to Altissia.

However, both of them didn’t expect that growing up with his future king would end up into something deeper.

For years, he taught himself to restrict his feelings, as it was highly inappropriate for him to even have feelings for the man he grew up with.

But they were young and reckless, and in the end, they reciprocated each other’s feelings.

Ignis sighed, removing his spectacles and placing it back to the table beside their bed.

“Alright then.” He said lovingly, though with a sad tone.

He held Noctis closer to his arms, as he places his head near his shoulder so he can hear his steady breathing. He brushed Noctis’ hair away from his face, so he can take a clearer look at his serene face.

“Iggy, I have a question.” Noctis spoke while he kept his eyes shut.

“Yes?”

“Will you still stay with me?” He had a subtle sad tone, thought he asked silently.

“Of course, after all I will always guide you even after you become King and when you get married with Lady Lunafr--.” He thought of the obvious answer since it’s a plan already laid out for his future. But knowing their actually situation right now, he had to take a step back because he knew that it’ll be over for the both of them after Altissia. “Noct, I hope you know the predicament we’re in right now. And even so, I will always stay with you, even if we can’t be together for the rest of our lives.”

“Then let’s get married.” Noctis immediately proposed without a pause in between sentences.

Ignis looks at him in confusion. Excited as he may be, reality says otherwise for the both of them.

“I’m thrilled with the idea but, I’m afraid it won’t be possible for us bo--.” He kept composed but his heart kept flipping, reminding him how much he loved his future king.

Noctis was half-asleep but he was trailing his finger around Ignis’ chest. “I’ve been thinking and asking around since Lestallum, how and where can we get married. It turned out Altissia allows same-sex marriage, so we can do it after the ceremony. I just needed Luna’s blessing and we are good to go.”

Ignis looked at him with softly, as he knew he had a chance of love for the two of them, but he is conflicted with his duty and his unconditional love for Noctis.

Noctis straddles himself in front of Ignis, as he faces him properly to take a better view of each other.

“I know what I must do for Lucis, and I can’t escape that fate, especially as a future King. But for once, between the two of us, I can’t let this chance go to waste.” He said with determination, just as the future King should be.

Noctis reached at the table’s drawer beside their bed and brought out a blue velvet box.

Ignis looks at the box, still feeling overwhelmed while looking calm. “Isn’t that for Lady Lunafreya?” He recalled what happened yesterday, as he saw Noctis buying a pair of engagement rings at a pretty expensive looking jewelry store.

He shook his head, with a soft smile on his face. “It wasn’t.”

Ignis, feeling overwhelmed, let a tear fall from his face. He chuckled playfully. “You’ll take responsibility for this.”

Noctis smirked. “I know.” He opened the box containing a simple-looking engagement ring and showed it to the love of his life.  “Will you do so in return?”

Ignis, gave his sincere warm smile, as he grabbed Noctis’ hand and gave soft kisses at his knuckles and looked towards him lovingly.

“Of course, my love.”

Ignoct Secret Santa 2019!

Hello, everyone! Thank you all for expressing interest in Ignoct Secret Santa 2019!

We are looking to create a fun fandom experience for all Ignoct lovers, and to do that we want to make sure to include as many wonderful creators as possible!

Who am I?

This is Mod S of Ignoct Week. I was asked by many fans to make a special Ignoct Secret Santa, and because of the sheer number of requests I received, I figured it would be good to try and do this again this year! You can contact me on Tumblr at @rsasai or @ignoctsecretsanta

What is accepted?

Fan Fiction: We ask that fan fiction works are at a minimum 1,500 words for one-shots. Multi-chapter fics and drabbles are acceptable, though if you choose to write a drabble we ask that you complete at least 3-5.

Fan Art: We ask fan art works be a step up from simple doodles. Black/White, Color, etc. are all acceptable.

Manips/Fan Videos: Fan manips and videos are accepted. If you would like to offer one of these, you will be contacted about music/color schemes and choices.

Crafts: Crafts and physical copies of presents ARE accepted, but will need to go through additional processing.

a fic year in review

this was the year i did get your words out. i signed up to write 150k words of anything over the course of the year, ~400 words/day, ~12k words/month.

i didn’t manage to make that w/c in half the time like i wanted, but i did get it by october, which, like? still bamf :D and 200k for the whole year! only 133k of which was published, but still!!

January

the month of motivation!! and 0 results because i was hitting peak anxiety re: my writing, what i was allowed to write, etc etc etc. i got better but it wasn’t in january, that’s for sure lol.

attempting to find a rhythm that worked and not quiiiite finding it, sort of floundering through it all—i hadn’t really dragged anyone in with me yet and i was suuuuuffering.

i can’t remember precisely, but i think this was when i decided to declare a hiatus. no posting for me for a while to get the long-running panic attack under control.

the one and only month i managed to really and truly stick to the hiatus thing. also the month(?) that @sixsaltysweets jumped in after me, and fandom things with a friend made everything better. ♥♥♥

legit tho, this was a huge confidence booster. two hellish months of Work and this fic was my bouldy through it all. i’m still ridiculously proud of it—on a technical level it’s some of the best work i’ve ever done.

hilariously, i was stalking fail_fandomanon on DW and decided to jump in on one of the fic exchanges there, and someone?? took offense to the way i worded my signup?? and left me a fic comment purely to tell me to change it because the only contact information i had up was my ao3, which. dude. dude.

yep yep yep more lockdown infiltration. now with a soulmate au request to oil the brain hinges! the first soulmate au i’ve ever played totally straight, i think. twas much fun.

MY WORK. MY LOVE. MY BABY. C O M P L E T E. i think i hit stockholm syndrome with this fic at some point lol, by the end of it i was almost sad to see it go, no matter how much i loathed writing it at times.

i’m still not totally sold on its quality, but at the same time, i do see why it’s my most popular p5 fic. the concept and chemistry of the shady cop (akira) and noble thief (ann) was just... so good? LIKE. i get that joker is joker, but ann’s naturally trusting nature and akira’s eternal desire to stick it to the man gives them a very good reason to want to talk to each other, even without a plot to help them along.

THEY JUST HAVE AMAZING CHEMISTRY OKAY.

incidentally, around september was when i fiiiinally started to feel Good about my characterization of both of them and how they clicked as a couple and now i am lost to this ship f o r e v e r.

so i started boyfriend material in november and put down like 16k for it in a couple of weeks before i completely crashed and struggled through the next few parts. 

the pwp spinoff was inspired by a comment on the original that just needed to be done justice and i have zero (0) regrets.

Total Year’s Output: 133,601! i didn’t quite manage to post all those 200k words, but 2/3rds ain’t bad.

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d predicted?

y’know? i really don’t know. the whole beginning of the year is kinda... lost to the fog. i was still trying to figure out what was wrong with me and coming up with 326492387 reasons and trying to tackle each one as it came up and i was still loosing weeks on end to the apathetic sleep, so;;;

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2019?

i 100% never predicted that i would finish a multichapter. and now? i’ve finished two :D :D :D

What’s your favourite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest.

THAT is a good question. i’m absolutely most proud of Lovers Confidant: Wold Famous Model, but boyfriend material might be the only multichapter i’d go back and reread of my own volition. it’s a tossup.

(as for oneshots, i still really like absolute territory. first and best accomplishments in cunnilingus!)

“As you wish” || g || ignoct week

Summary: Ignis has sworn on the day he met him that he’ll stay with Noctis until the end. Fortunately, he kept his promise.

@ignoctweek Day 2: Simple - Loyalty —- Long ago, Ignis swore an oath to protect Noctis.

It was simply his duty, coming from a family of retainers. However upon seeing the shy raven-haired child, who was only a few years younger than him, he knew it was something more than just being his aid. From that day forth, he became his friend.

What he thought it would just be him helping with studies, ended up having playdates on their own. Of course, he can’t help but to join in the fun with Noctis, who was still naive with what’s in store for him and carried the scar and trauma caused by a Naga.

One night, they snuck out to see the clear night sky so Noctis can see the stars above. They both lean at the tall railing, with the open night sky above them. Noctis was at awe with what he was seeing, as he never left his room after what happened to him. But ever since he met Ignis, he saw a new world through the eyes of the spectacle-wearing retainer.

“Iggy?” Noctis faced him, not knowing that Ignis has been staring at him for awhile.

“What’s wrong, Your Highness?” Ignis looking worried, trying to look for any clue if he’s hurt or anything.

“Please stay with me forever.” Noctis grabbed Ignis’ left hand, reminiscent on how they first met.

Ignis tilted his head, looking amused. “But there’s no such thing as forever.”

The small raven haired boy sulked, as he slowly lowered his hands. But Ignis immediately held his hands in front of them in return.

“But I’ll stay with you until the end.” He gave a warm smile to the naive looking boy, meanwhile his sulky look lit up upon hearing his friend’s assurance.

For the first time, Noctis hugged his dear companion, which caught Ignis off-guard at the beginning since this was his first too.

“You will?” Noctis sounded hopeful, as he clings at Ignis.

Ignis reciprocated the hug, though he was a little taller than his young prince. “As you wish.”

“If only I said that forever existed back then, we could have continued what we left.” Ignis reminisced those days when they were children with the permanent darkness he can only see right now.

He brushed his hand on his newly crowned king’s face, who permanently slept forever. “At least, I was always with you until the end.”

With a bittersweet smile, he felt the warmth of the sun for the first time in many years on his scarred face.

“Good night, my king.”
