Hiraeth - My First Fanfiction, an isekai about a BG3 gamer who finds herself dragged into Faerun. I didn't know how to use AO3 then, I tagged my OC, Astarion, and Gale in a threesome by accident, and Gale and Astarion are super horny for each other throughout because I didn't yet know it was my life's calling to write Bloodweave. But I'm proud of the ending and people still seem to like it.

What Friends Are For - Also known as, Nivasi discovers Bloodweave. This fic has my favorite chapters of anything I've written ever (chapters 11-13).

Driven - Meepbois 😭 I miss them so they're getting a one-year anniversary epilogue this year.

Familiar is probably the angstiest thing I've written ('What if Gale's dad was one of Astarion's victims?'). Otherwise, Hiraeth has a very bittersweet ending.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?

I did it in Driven, because Astarion speaks French, and it taught me how not good Google Translate is. I ended up getting help from the lovely French Quarter of BWBR in the end, and would always go straight to this option in the future.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

BG3! This has been my first experience of fandom and my first time writing fics. I like it. You're all onto something here.

20. Favorite fic you’ve ever written?

I think it's got to be Driven. It's not as popular as Hustle, but I received the most surprising amount of love for this story. To the extent that it was actually emotional when it came to an end? Which I really wasn't expecting when I plonked a wizard and a vampire into F1 cars. Thanks meeple <3

You know, during the 6-8 weeks that I fully stepped away from tumblr, it was in large part made possible by the fact that my personal life has been an on fire dumpster wafting down a stream of sewage (no I will not be elaborating publicly) to the point where I have been utterly incapable of engaging with anything else.

But one very pale upside to this is that, for those 6 - 8 weeks, I was so caught up in my own personal bullshit that I lived in a world where violent antisemitism on the left, violent transphobia on the right, horrific war updates, and the upcoming terrors of the US election and its potential societal fallout didn't exist to me.

And in particular, I was blissfully unaware of any unhinged things the tumblr red-brown alliance goon squad were saying about Jews.

On the one hand, I'm glad my real life has stabilized (a bit. for now.)

no, we didn’t fly together at all, thankfully. the whole situation left such a shit taste in my mouth tbh and just goes to show how much i was treated like a trophy lee instead of a person.

he asked me if i wanted to go to AUNT with him back in November i think? can’t remember. i said id love to, but not to consider me a guarantee bc the odds of me being able to afford a flight, ticket and room were slim to none. he offered to share a room with me, but didn’t mention the flight or anything (which was completely fine! i did not want him to pay for my fight) and i said that would make it much easier.

then throughout December he started posting things and tagging me on here about how we’re going to be duo lers, offer gang tickles, etc. i was like oooo yikes - bc lots of moots were getting excited about hanging with me there and i was just like, aaaah i hope i can raise enough money! so, after 2-3 of these posts came in from him, i texted him and said look i hate to ask you this but you’ve p much told all of tumblr that im for SURE going to aunt with you and that we’re gonna be a gang tickle duo. if i can’t get the money together in time, are you ok with covering my flight until i can pay you back? and he agreed saying it was no problem whatsoever.

thennnn the fallout happened as shown in the texts from the night my dog got sick. i was so hurt by the whole “one day you’re asking me to borrow money and the next i’m unsafe and terrible” blah blah. i said ok hell no i’m never ever asking you for anything financially ever again, do not even worry about it, i do not need your help, i’ll get my own way there.

then we reconciled after a 2 hour phone call the next day where i just fell for all of the claims that his play partner was psychotic and that i interpreted his context incorrectly and that he didn’t mean any of it the way i took it, yatta yatta.

then everything was somewhat mellowed out. i started trying to actually plan the trip with him, asking him if he’s gotten the room yet, if he’s gotten his own plane ticket yet, etc. he never gave me a straight answer, left me on delivered a bunch, and then eventually just told me he lost his steam for aunt and wasn’t going anymore. so i said damn that sucks, hope you change your mind bc i’m sure it’ll be fun etc.

i think in his mind, if he didn’t go, i wouldn’t be able to go. so when i reached out and connected with my angel love baby girl mik and she offered me the pullout couch in her room, i was elated!!! this meant i would only have to buy the plane ticket and id be squared away!!!

well, guess what happened the moment he found that out?

suddenly there was a mad scramble for him to find a room “for us” since the hotel was already booked out. even tho i’m the one who already made alternative room plans, he asks ME to make a post in the discord and ask people to hmu if someone cancels so he can “get a room for us.” i start getting texts from him telling me i’m his “priority” and that we’re a “package deal,” all the while we haven’t even seen each other in like a month and we barely talk anymore. only hits me up to ask me how many sessions i have planned for aunt, and to ask me if he can use me as an excuse to reject potential lees bc he doesn’t know how to say no on his own. all of a sudden he wants to claim me and say “me and nyx aren’t planning anything til we get there.” like idk it just made me feel so sick and used. bc this energy was nowhere to be found when i was actually trying to plan our trip a month prior and he said he wasn’t even going anymore.

like, idk. all of it honestly made me feel like nothing more than a reputation enhancer once again; he wasn’t interested in showing up in my life for a real dynamic, but he wanted everyone to think we had a real dynamic. he wanted to be able to show up with “nyx from tumblr” at her first ever gathering and pretend we were bffs and ultra close play partners after all the shit he already put me through like it never happened. makes me kinda fucking sick.

so, you know the rest now - i end up talking to adi, i find out all the insane shit that was said about me to her AND the insane shit that was said about her to me being false. i keep my own flight and my separate plans to room with mik, and i tell him that i won’t be playing with him there, but i won’t make things weird for him, i’ll just keep my distance. i traveled alone, landed in Albany alone, made my way to a nail salon alone, and finally met up with my love my angel my baby mik. bing bang boom!

So I recently got acquainted with a really sweet girl. Who I really, really like. The only thing that gives me pause is she’s just a bit more than ten years younger than me and I’m working through how to feel about that. Like... on the one hand, good! Fine! She’s a grown up lady and she seems very down so I trust her to make her own choices. But also when I was about her age I dated someone a decade older and it was *bad.* Like *bad* bad. He was the only partner I’ve ever had who was physically abusive, and while we were only together a couple of months he did an enormous amount of damage to my life. 

I obviously know that I’m not David (yeah, what’s up you piece of shit. I don’t think you’re on Tumblr, you’re more of an insta guy but if you’re seeing this I hope you die in a climbing accident). I’m not going to hit or sexually assault this woman and maybe it’s different because that was a het relationship but… abuse and general bad situations absolutely do happen between women too, and because I’m cis and she’s trans there’s an axis of gendered power there as well. So idk, I’m thinking a lot about what I can do so that in ten years she looks back on our relationship as a positive experience. She’ll be moving quite far away in the near future which puts limits on how involved this can get, but there’s definitely already some attachment forming between us which I think is okay (good even!) but the affair does have a sort of natural trajectory. Okay so here’s what ima try to do 

A) not hold on too tightly. She’s a beautiful beautiful lil birdie who is going to fly away to what is objectively a better situation and my goal is to show her a real good time until she does.

B) I’m going to try to give her as much as I possibly can in the meantime and try to be really transparent about it when I’m simply too tired/out of time/need to tend to other commitments

C) No obligations. She doesn’t owe me anything beyond basic kindness and respect. I’m not going to try to enmesh her in my life, and I’m also not going to lean too hard on her for support. Like… I won’t shut her out if she asks but she won’t be the first person I go to with my problems. I already have a partner in whom I have a really strong and reciprocal relationship of care. 

D) Honesty, obvs. She knows my awkward family situation, she hears all about my girlfriend, I’ll keep her in the loop about any other partners. I’ll also try to either show her this or discuss what’s been on my mind so she doesn’t feel like I’m patronizing her.

Good grammar, punctuation, 3rd person perspective, and somewhat consistent tense are very important to me, though if you slip up every so often, don’t worry, I won’t bite! I love to write A LOT (at least at the beginning), usually breaking discords message limit. However, quality over quantity is even more important, so don’t feel like you need to grind out 6 paragraphs if you don’t have the inspiration/material to work off of! I tend to shorten down to usually 2 paragraphs as the roleplay goes on, maybe even less depending on the scene, but sometimes i’ll go off on a tangent again. As said before, feel free to discuss with me! Communication is key.

Please no ocs! I ONLY do canon/canon, at least at first. Once I get to know you and get comfortable with your style, I usually become more open towards ocs, especially if we can make some together!

As for continuity, I mainly go for an ambiguous universe or an amalgamation of multiple. If we want a specific one to work with, I’m most familiar with IDW (disclaimer that I’m not the most knowledgeable out there), G1 universe and the aligned continuity. IDW would be my first pick though!

im asking abt modpack design. what makes a good modpack? Is that the same as a balanced modpack? how many way are there to work around mods not wanting to coexist & how much work usually goes into packs you make?

Ive slapped together a few packs for myself that took a few allnighters back when i wasnt sleeping anyway lol. then wanted to play with friends and had to slim it down to something all our pcs could handle.... fun times

oh boy here we go... What makes a good modpack is simply: Fun. Not every good modpack is balanced, and not every balanced modpack is good. Generally, the more balanced a modpack is, the better it is, but you can have crazy op superflyingdragonkilling ultra 9000 swords and still have lots of fun with them, as long as they aren't literally made out of dirt. An example I like to use when people ask "well how could an unbalanced modpack be fun?" is the Minecraft but X is OP! type datapacks that are pretty common in clickbait YouTube thumbnails. Those are really fun to mess around with! Balanced? Oh gods no. But sometimes how ludicrous it is can be the fun in and of itself. A balanced modpack is one where your power level as a player is roughly proportionate to how much time you invest into it. It's roughly self explanatory but can be a bit hard for me to put an example to with something in regular minecraft. Another, minor aspect of a good modpack imo is the environment and ambient atmosphere of everything. If you have a mod with mspaint sprites that are plastered everywhere, it's gonna ruin immersion and make the game less serious, which is a big component of keeping a modpack engaging and therefore fun. In terms of getting mods to work that just refuse to? For some performance related backend mods there are alternatives (LazyDFU and DataFixerSlayer, Rubidium/Sodium and Embeddium, etc.) that could solve issues, but more often that not, if it's a crash, you just gotta cope and take one of them out of the pack. If it's a not crash related issue, for example for balance or something related to, you can always remove the mobs / items / anything else that is causing issues with mods like Bad Mobs, You Shall Not Spawn, or Item Obliterator. I usually put 1-2 weeks of work into a good serious modpack, but I mostly make kitchen sinks, and the longest project I ever worked on personally took me around 2 months to fully complete and be ready. Custom textures, modifying datapacks, tweaking mods and finding new ones, all to create an intensely immsersive atmosphere for a roleplay server that never ended up going live. (yeouch) Slimming down modpacks is honestly tough, but I just like to focus on a direct theme or two. Earlier this week I had a pack with 218 mods that i slimmed down to just under 100 by cutting out chaff and really focusing on the 3 lines of progression the people wanted. BKDK RP request!

So I’ve been wanting to get back into roleplaying for a while, but I’ve never actually gone out and looked for an rp partner in the wild. So… I’m just gonna make a post here and hope for the best.

My current hyperfixation has been mha, more specifically bakudeku so that’s what I’m looking for (I’m open to other ships but this is specifically for bkdk). I like doing AUs mostly but I’m also down for canon compliant/slightly canon divergent plots. I have a lot of different plots in my head but I’m open to plotting and discussing, one of my favorite things is worldbuilding and plotting for rps, I also like just talking about headcanons and such, I've been known to make moodboards and playlists for just about anything because I'm insane and when I get into something, I get obsessed. I would really love to find someone who can match that energy, join me, be insane with me.

But, I do have AUs that I usually go for, that I have a lot of ideas for, or I'm just really interested in:

Other than that here are some additional rules and requirements:

NO MINORS! I'm 19 and don't feel comfortable roleplaying with minors, even if there's nothing nsfw I'd just overall prefer it if you're 18+. That being said I'm not comfortable doing nsfw either, suggestive content is ok but nothing actually nsfw.

I write Deku mainly, I can write other characters for flavor, just so thing's don't feel too empty, but I'm looking for someone to who writes Bakugou specifically.

I write long winded, descriptive replies. My replies can range anywhere from 2 paragraphs (although I try not to do this so 2 paragraph replies aren't common) to well over the discord character limit (more common than I'd like to admit). I don't expect anyone to match me paragraph for paragraph, don't feel pressured to if you genuinely can't, but I'd like to find someone who can match that energy. I'd prefer anyone who does semi lit to advanced. In that same vein I'd like someone who can respond fairly often, but I understand that life happens so if you can't reply just lmk, take your time, this is a fun and casual rp request lol.

I'm audhd and dyslexic so sometimes I make a lot of mistakes or I miss things, just give me a gentle reminder if that happens or I take something out of context because of that. Please also use tone indicators when talking ooc.

I write in third person exclusively, first and second person makes me uncomfortable, so I would prefer to rp with people who also write in third person.

If I do or say anything that makes you uncomfortable please let me know right away! On top of that if you have any triggers that I should know about please lmk, I don't want to make anyone feel bad. And ofc I'll do the same ^^
