It's funny how this blog when a friend first showed me this blog, was all wild kratz, then ghost boy, warrior cats at one point. Than I come back now *boom* Detco was a huge thing here lol
My blog is a representation of my brain, which goes from fandom to fandom on a weekly basis. The only constant is Ghost Boys, I'm always working on it.
I just... get distracted, a lot.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PAY ANY MONEY TO SEE SPACE BABY.
YOU HAVE TO PAY MONEY IF YOU WANT TO SEE IT EARLY, ALL AT ONCE, WITH THE CREATOR TALKBACK. THIS IS A STARKID BUSINESS MODEL THAT HAS EXISTED SINCE 2014, IT IS NOT "BEHIND A SECOND PAYWALL", IT IS A WAY TO GIVE A LITTLE EXTRA MONEY TO THE ARTISTS WHO WORKED ON THE SHOW KNOWING FULL WELL THAT IT IS AN EXPERIMENTAL PILOT AND COULD FLOP.
anyways. hi this is my rant blog so here's the rant
tldr: starkid needs a social media manager, they don't make the youtube residuals or ticket sales profit you think they do, chicago and la are great places to do theatre due to the audiences they draw but they are SO FUCKING EXPENSIVE, capitalism is rotting this country from the inside out and starkid knows this better than anyone
first and foremost:
curt mega is not a legal representative of starkid and he is entirely within his rights to defend misconceptions about the art he makes. he is so respectful to the fandom on here, even apologizing to the confessions blog after accidentally following them because he wants fans to have a safe space where they don't feel like they're being monitored by someone from the company. there is nothing wrong with him trying to assuage people's fears about the show. debunk whatever you want my dude (including if i say anything wrong in this post!)
i am not, under any circumstances, a blind defender of starkid. they've made choices that i do not enjoy in the 15 years that i've been watching them. like i say in this post, i think fans need more notice than a week if there is going to be a livestream we have* to pay money for. i would like a musical that is composed by someone other than jeff or clark. i wish the black friday deluxe download had the digital ticket in it. i wish jangle ball could've come to the actual southeast rather than claiming to be coming to the east coast then hanging out in new york (but as you'll see, that would've cost MONEYYYY). you will notice that these are nitpicky personal grievances. that's the point. im not gonna shell out completely for a group of white guys in LA, no matter how autistic i am about the musicals they make.
as someone who also donated to starkid returns and has also been disappointed to see how long it's taken for this stuff to get off the ground (I absolutely loved cinderella's castle but i would not have minded waiting for it if it meant we got space baby sooner or sissy/ttip. i want to see/read Sissy SO FUCKING BAD)
but think about it. starkid returns made $386,000. a weeklong rental of the El Portal Theatre costs $12,000. so for two weeks of tech thats $24,000. the two weekends of performances were $6,000-7,500 each. it's $7500 per shoot day for a film production. already, that's almost $50,000. Now think about renting film equipment, making costumes, sets, props, paying the cast, crew, theatre technicians, house management, REHEARSAL SPACE RENTAL, we don't know if any of the actors had to be housed in LA while they were working on the show, not to mention getting merch made (FUCKING EXPENSIVE). And that's just on Nerdy Prudes. They also had an entire fucking national tour to fund. i ain't doin the math on every theatre they rented for that tho.
while the 10iversary kickstarter made about $547,000, considerably more than SK Returns, that money went into funding the travel and stay of the fuck ton of people who came to LA for the show, renting the Ace Hotel Theatre, funding Black Friday, and of course the unfathomably expensive Wiggly plushes, which were very kindly restocked what, three or four times? because the FANS kept begging for them. and then after all of that was said and done, the company took a huge hit with the pandemic. Some of the SK returns money probably went into making Workin' Boys too! That's what happens when a global pandemic shuts down all your plans for two years!
i was also surprised to hear that space baby wasn't going straight to youtube. I had it in my mind that it was going to be something similar to Movies, Musicals, and Me. I see now that I was incorrect. It's experimental. It involves SO MANY ACTORS. and not to mention starkid has been doing the digital ticket prior to youtube release thing for YEARS. my main thing is that i would be totally totally fine with having to buy another ticket for space baby (which is only $10 by the way, less than all of their other digital tickets. not to mention it includes the talkback afterwards) if they had only clarified it just a little bit earlier. Nightmare Time 2 was announced on October 8th, 2021 and the first ticketed livestream wasn't until the 23rd. that's two weeks, a whole week longer than we got for space baby. however, im willing to understand that there probably wasn't as much time to announce things/people have been a little bit scrambled lately due to, i dunno, having to evacuate due to the raging wildfire.
unfortunately, people aren't always going to understand that making art is fucking expensive in this day and age. i hate that starkid has to keep reiterating that but it might be smoother if they had a media trained person running the socials who had a prewritten explanation of "making stuff costs money" for the people who don't get it. and then when starkid DOES do stuff for cheap they get taken advantage of. i'm still not over those fuckwads who bought meredith's beautiful handmade coasters at VHSCC and upsold them for three times as much money. the people who bootlegged the black friday digital ticket and posted it online just cause they didn't want to wait the measly 3 months it took for the show to get posted online.
being angry when the person who made the show is looking at the tumblr tag for the show because he wants to see what people are saying about the show he made comes thru to clarify some misconceptions when the tumblr tag is full of people not understanding the starkid business model that's been around since 2014 is not the move. not the move!!!

Theoretically if I were to host an event in which the Scum Villain Fandom tried to write PIDW would people be interested?
I discussed this with my good friend @spaced-out-scribbles a while back but here few details that I have in my head, please stop me if someone has already done something like this before
As we all know PIDW, written by Airplane Shooting Towards the Sky, was the source material that Shen Yuan transmigrates into
So wouldn't it be funny to have a "canon" source material for people to reference?
Step 1 would be to compile every reference to PIDW in SVSSS to figure out how long Binghe's white lotus arc lasted and how long actual plot occured before it devolved into shitty smut
Step 2 would be to compile a list of fic writers and maybe artists perhaps that would be interested in recreating PIDW based off of the information occuring in Step 1
A discord server is put together with everyone interested in this project
There could maybe be a list of people assigned to each referenced arc that would maybe hold applications the way that a zine would perhaps? With people applying to write specific portions of PIDW if they wanted to write the marriage of a specific wife or a portion of a specific arc
And anyone else that wanted to participate is assigned a random wife number and told to go wild with the longest, shittiest description of how Luo Bingge was a total stallion lead, and married his new wife of the week
All of these fics and/or accompanying art are submitted to a GIANT ao3 collection (bonus points if everyone involved creates a pseud that's named as Airplane Shooting Towards the Sky for this project) and with everyone's contributions all put together you get a semblance of what PIDW would have looked like
Bonus points if no one else has any idea what happened in a previous wife plot, so the story is not at all coherent towards the later chapters, because I fully believe Airplane had no idea what the fuck he's written before as he got to the end of PIDW
Someone is assigned to write the final shitty ending that made Shen Yuan so mad he died and transmigrated
If anyone wants to contribute to PIDW after the project, the collection could remain open but moderated to make sure chapter numbers/wife numbers stay consistent and that's about it
Obviously this would be a huge project to wrangle and would need a lot of people involved to actually make it work and take a lot of time, so if this is something people are actually interested in, it would more than likely not be able to come to fruition until the start of 2025 at the absolute earliest with all the prep work it would take to get a project like this accomplished but I thought I'd throw it out there to see if people would be interested, so reblog to spread the word if this is something you'd like to see!
Once again, if someone has already done something like this please let me know, I've only been in this fandom for like a year and a half so I'm aware that a lot of fandom events have occured before my time in the fandom
#svsss#luo binghe#sammi speaks#airplane shooting towards the sky#pidw#proud immortal demon way#poll#tumblr polls#fandom event#fandom#fan event#if this gets enough yes votes ill make a separate blog or hell even a Twitter account and send out a formal interest check/timeline

Empty Movement's 2023 Revolutionary Girl Utena UPDATE

Fashionably late? As always. 2023 was a HUGE year for Empty Movement, so much so that to confess, we did a big fail in actually keeping up with sharing the stuff we did! OOPS. So finally, we proudly bring you: all the Revolutionary Girl Utena content we dropped in 2023. Essays, artbooks, CD information, you name it. Click below for the entire site update, or get it at the source, as always, at ohtori.nu.
In Analysis (Fan Essays): • seebee's essay The Power of Living an Embodying Narrative is about more than Utena, it's about the fandom--including us. We were both interviewed for this piece, and the result is an absolutely beautiful essay that has helped inform how we do Utena stuff going forward. Thank you so much for letting us be part of this! • seebee's VIDEO essay FILM CUTS BACK | transfeminism in utena absolutely blew our minds and it's so good we're listing it. Look at the title. Just go watch it, it rules. • Nicole Winchester's essay No Choice But To Become Witches: The Bishōjo-Demonic Phallic Mother Dichotomy in Revolutionary Girl Utena catches you up to speed on the academic discussion around what might best be described as the shoujo manga iteration of the Madonna-Whore complex. Then, naturally, it finds plenty to say about Utena. Great work that was well worth the coding!
------------
In From the Mouths of Babes (Translated Meta/Creator Content): • Cross X Talk, A Round Table Discussion Commemorating the Second Musical Utena GOGAI FUCKIN' GOGAI. Nagumo and friends bring us the final untranslated part of the 2019 Black Rose Musical's program guide: the monster interview with Ikuhara and the director of the musicals, Yoshitani. INCREDIBLE content here that 100% lives up to the first musical's similar encounter! A must read!! • The Rose Apocalypse's Ei Takatori Interview The director of the mysterious 1999 musical (yes the machine gun one, and YES WE HAVE MORE INFORMATION ABOUT IT COMING) interviewed in The Rose Apocalypse book. This...is that. Thank you so much to iris hahn for translating, and I can't wait to bring you more of this mythology!!! • The Utena Dossier Animage Magazine's June 1997 supplemental, this 36-page Utena tome has ben translated by Nagumo with editing by Ayu Ohseki. Because so much of the content is in its visual presentation, I worked the translation into the original scans! Check it out! (PS. Yes that is an entirely different gallery on the emptymovement.com domain, no this won't stay there, yes it has been a weird couple years.) The Dossier includes two long interviews that are also worked into html pages for easy viewing! The Auspicious Joining of Manga and Anime: Saito and Hasegawa For Whom the Director Smiles: Ikuhara and Kitakubo
-------------
In Historia Arcana & The Bibliothèque (Untranslated Resources): • There are a lot of changes happening in this arena!!! How and where to place different materials has been a moving target, so I'll do my best! The sites don't quite reflect this yet, but Historia Arcana will be for cover to cover Utena media, including special magazine publications. Something Eternal's gallery, the Bibliothèque, will be for magazine articles, clippings, and other things. Major artbooks will likely be in both places, cross referenced. New books in Historia Arcana: • The Rose Spiral: Reflections on the Mythology of Utena While not strictly official, this is a fan published book of in depth analysis of Utena, circa 1998! Yep, cover to cover. • Revolution Dictionary (OST 1 First Press Bonus) Cross-referenced from Audiology, this is the bonus dictionary you only got if you grabbed it early! Cool! • Revolutionary Girl Utena Making of Visuals Book Art of UTENA I am mentioning this for completions sake and because I already uploaded it, but this is a cover to cover high resolution, uncleaned scan of the 1999 Art of Utena artbook. I am going to clean the scans, and ultimately be posting the official artbooks elsewhere. • Revolutionary Girl Utena Photobook: Rose Memories This special Animage bonus could be purchased for 700 yen, and back then, was probably a great way to keep the anime in your pocket! It's entirely shots from the TV series, though, so there's nothing specifically new. But I scan it all, baby. New books in the Bibliothèque: • Chiho Saito's 1999 Revolutionary Girl Utena Original Illustration Collection HI THIS IS A VERY BIG DEAL. Read more about why when you visit! TLDR? Here's some of the best artwork of Utena, rescanned and remastered by yours truly to be the best big big scans of big big beautiful Chiho Saito Art. This is a feast. I even made myself a calendar! (Note that the price is such that I don't make a profit on these, so if you're looking to donate, definitely go by other routes, haha.) You will find multiple ways to obtain the scans, and in more than one size. Either way you soak up the rays, enjoy 'em! New articles and clips in the Bibliothèque: • H! Rockin' on Japan Magazine Saito X Oikawa This fashion music magazine's July 1999 article has ALREADY BEEN TRANSLATED? Like, I am going to add the translation officially to the site of course, but holy hell Nagumo is amazing!! This article is actually the origin of a Saito art piece that uh, well. Now we know she went to a love hotel with movie Akio's VA. Cool! Anyway check it out! • Comickers Magazine, August 1997 This absolute monster find is an industry-focused magazine with this gorgeous spread and interview with Chiho Saito. It gets into how she does things. The making of Utena. All kinds of stuff. I'd LOVE to know more about this one!! • Comickers Magazine, June 1998 Again, an industry-focused publication, this time it's exploring the manga and the anime and how they compare. Again looks like a tasty meal!! • Volks Magazine, Spring 2022 YEP SCANS OF THE BOOK OF THE DOLLFIES. For a lot of us, this is at close as we get to these ludicrously gorgeous dolls. I included a few extra pages because they were just fuckin' cool and felt relevant. • Sega Saturn Magazine, December 1997 One of two grabs I got recently on Yahoo! Japan! This appears to be the first look announcement of the 1998 Utena video game! (Yes we have more on it, yes we will eventually post links.) • Sega Saturn Magazine, April 1998 This feature brings attention to the voice actors, who are all returning for the game! • Dengeki G's Magazine, January 1998 Another gaming focused magazine, with frankly a more adult edge, cheaply lets the readers know about Utena. These three game magazine moments are just a bizarre reminder of how we did things before the internet, LMAO
---------------
In Audiology (Music and CD Information): • Complete information about the STAR CHILD - Girls Character Song Best album! You also definitely can't grab the two new remix tracks there. • Did you know there was a first press bonus dictionary for the first OST? I DIDN'T UNTIL RECENTLY. Now I know all about it, and so can you. Check it out! Obviously, scans available, both here and in Historia Arcana. • I FINALLY acquired a complete set of the Utena CD singles!! Check out complete track lists, scans, and information for ALL FIVE Utena singles. Yes. Including the movie Akio guy's one.
----------------
In The Doujinshi Gallery: • Several dozen dounjinshi were uploaded earlier in the year, and can be found listed on the Site Update archive here.
---------------
That's all for now, folks! There's so so so much coming. I have the episode 18 and 20 (!!!!) storyboards to scan, as well as a fully translated scanlation of The Duelist Bible. We're planning to do something for Anthy's rare LEAP YEAR birthday coming up, probably a musical stream or something! Love!

Been trying to catch up with the Mario Party streams to get the full crazy Merp experience, lol. I love your outfits you create so much and they are absolutely fantastic And I cannot thank you enough for the drawings of my babies they mean the world to me, like… you have no idea. @shygirl4991 - Shay, you have created an Adonis and have graced us all with their existence and for that I cannot thank you enough /silly. But in all seriousness you are awesome and I love your writing so much! And don’t let anyone say anything bad about your art. It is awesome. Don’t let people tear you down. You’re awesome! Your fanfics inspired me to start writing stuff for the SMG4 fandom, and I find it funny how we both basically share the same writing experience of bouncing between AUs constantly when it comes to what is written next. And your streams are always awesome. I hope things get better for you in your personal life as well. Stay safe! ^^ You’re fantastic and I’m very honored to know you!
@b-r-i-n-g-x - Bringx, your AUs and art are great and I can definitely eat your art for a gourmet meal because of how pretty it is. @itsajanea - Hi AJ! Your art is adorable and I know we barely interact sometimes but I seriously love your art and writing. Seriously your art is adorable and I know you’re not all that active due to school, but the stuff of yours that is out there is fantastic, and I know it hasn’t been updated in while but I can tell you Strange Magic is a movie I really like and I absolutely went feral when I learned about the collab AU you and Liz have because mixing SMG34 and Strange Magic is so fun. You’re seriously awesome! ^^
@lizaluvsthis - You are a fantastic artist and have done a lot of good Marware and SMG34 art and I seriously adore your art too. It’s so pretty. And I’m glad you’re doing good. You’re able to capture canon so well and it’s super cool to see your art! And the fics that you’ve written are also super good too! You’re one of the people that got me into shipping Marware, believe it or not! You’re fantastic and I seriously love your stuff. Remember to take care of yourself and know that I really appreciate you and am proud to call you a friend! ^^
@skeletonstudios - Hello MJ. One of the top Marware consumers I’m sure, lol. You are seriously amazing and I love your art and adore the comments you’ve left for Apprenticeship and Schmigadoon. You also really make me laugh whenever you come in like a feral beast whenever Marware is even remotely mentioned. I gotta catch up on your OC’s lore too, not that I think about it. I promise I will draw some fanart for you in the future. Mark my words, MJ. Mark. My. Words. /silly
@ominus-potato - If it weren’t for you Apprenticeship would definitely not be what it is today, I am just gonna outright say it. Seriously, it would not be anywhere near what it is without your support. This thing was originally gonna be 10 chapters and forgotten before you showed a genuine interest in it, honestly. I seriously appreciate you because like… seriously, I don’t think I’d be anywhere near here without you. And of course you also drag me into shipping rarepairs like TrashCube, BadgeHunter, and Wreniles. And your fics are fantastic, even if it takes awhile between them. Still love the one-shots with Mr. Puzzles learning Italian and SMG4 being taken to another world. Those two constantly live in my head rent free. Love ya! /platonic
@briandraws - Hello my eldest child /silly. Your artwork is chef’s kiss, and you are definitely a master at writing angst. COWOW is a heartbreaking story I need to reread because the urge is strong. And also the gift fic you wrote where Apprenticeship and COWOW meet ;-; My heart. Also do it. Put my children through the horrors. Cuz I know I am /silly Also, you are definitely the leader of the three Marware CEOs. I bow to thee and your ability to write so many Marware stories. (And also a happy birthday!!🍰)
@ghostiefrog-arts - Hi Froggie, my handsomest grandson :3 You and Brian cook up so many great things and your AUs involving people’s sonas are super awesome and I love them so much! And your art is very yummy. You are awesome and keep up the good work. You also are absolutely fantastic when it comes to organizing things to lift Brian’s mood and I really respect you for that. And here, have this: 🦐 You know why /silly
@theghostinthestudio - Snazziest little creechur and my other grandchild hello!!! Love your next gen AU with SpagheTV and also Rango. Rango is awesome. Love the little OneStar ship-child. You are extremely chaotic and always make me laugh. Honestly it was your SpagheTV that gave me a the idea of implementing him into Apprenticeship. But you are definitely a snazzy little creature and I love ya /platonic
@candypearljam - You are very fun to talk to whenever you’re able to be online and I really appreciate you and how you’re the only sane one in our online family ^^ /silly

You are awesome and don’t let anyone Tell you otherwise! ^^
@theartistisme43 - Your scarred AU is awesome. Those two are absolutely awesome and I love them so much! And I absolutely love to hate your version of Mr. Puzzles! And I know you haven’t done too much with the Search lately, but the story is super interesting and I love the idea of it! SMG7 is a little menace and I love him, I’ll be honest. Your art is absolutely fantastic, and your gmod stuff is absolutely phenomenal! You are such a huge inspiration for me! You are awesome and your stuff is awesome! And I just love your scarred boys so much! The AU owns a large piece of my heart because they are just… they’re so cute. ;-; You are seriously awesome and such an inspiration!
@grinnames - Your Godbox AU is so freaking cool and I love them so much they are such chaotic goobers and your art is so creepy and I love it! Your AU is one I’d seen and loved before because it is so silly and spooky. I seriously love the story and would love to see how SMG3 and SMG4 are either saved or lost for good because it’s so intriguing for me. And Mario being a creepypasta checks out- /silly. But seriously I love your stuff a lot and your art is very very tasty. Your stuff is awesome and so are you!! ^^
@34saveme34 - Hello one of the two people that got me into shipping Marware. Nicc, I’m now positive it was both the Mario the Exploro art or the Technical Difficulties drawing with the making cream filled Italian desserts. I’m positive it was one of those two- Anyway. Your yappings are so fun to read and I’m sorry I didn’t get my theory out before episode 4 of your magical AU came out. But either way, you come up with amazing ideas and your yappings are always really interesting to read through, especially when digging deeper and overthinking SMG4. You are a big inspiration and are absolutely amazing! ^^ Hopefully I can get my MatPat game up for future installments of the Magical AU (and maybe the Sever the Ties AU too since if I remember correctly there’s 2 more installments in the future).
@theforty7thgamer - Forty you’re awesome and SUPER is SUPER fun (pun intended). I really appreciate you. You’re an amazing friend, and you got me out of my shell and back onto Discord after what had happened to me in the past. I love the SUPERs and the entire concept behind it all with a successor to Mario, and I’m very proud to know that I’m your friend and someone you trust to bounce ideas off of and play DnD with. Love you a lot! /platonic
@chezz-lil - Hello my child!! I love your artwork and I am very honored to know that my AU inspired yours and I love hearing you yap about them. It’s awesome that you got inspired my me and I love it sm. Your stories are super fun to read over and are very much appreciated. Sorry that I can be a bit weird on Discord lol. Thank you for the arts and the ramblings I love them sm! I am very honored to be your parent ^^
@rat-n-atty - Your art is fantastic, and your SMGenerations story is definitely interesting! Love seeing SMG3 and SMG4 being SMG5’s dads without being in a romantic relationship. It’s seriously so cute and is definitely something I can see happening in canon too. Is really inspirational for some of the fics I’m working on! I seriously need to draw your SMG5 because I love that little biscuit so much! And the sona lore… ooh the sona lore. Love that a lot too! I gotta make fanart of your stuff. It’s amazing. I really love and appreciate you! ^^ /platonic
@anemeraldapple - you know why you’re here /silly

I have a question, and my name is Sal.
I grew up watching Coraline as a kid. It was my jam. I loved that movie, and I will forever say Henry Selick deserved more attention for making it.
I like the Dresden Dolls and Evelyn Evelyn (Amanda Palmer projects) I still have the songs stuck in my head. You know where this is going.
I know you said that fans of works should still enjoy the work even if the creator sucks. And I can do that with Kubrick and Aaron Fechter, but that’s because Kubrick is dead, and most of Aaron Fechter’s IP got ripped away from him and is gladly in the hands of the public (despite how much he likes to sue).
Gaiman (and Palmer) are still alive and/or profiting off their stuff. Not to mention, I want to bring attention to the situation and help bring justice to the victims. Yet everytime I post about it or reblog what someone else put into words what I think, I feel like I’m virtue signalling.
How do I handle it and is it bad that I keep thinking of the art that influenced me by them instead of what they did (in a way to soften the blow to how horribly they abused these women)?
(You can respond to this publicly, as I am sure people are thinking the same thing somewhere. I am sorry for dumping all this on you.)
hi sal!
sorry, this got long. your ask was so genuine and i was afraid of getting it wrong.
i want to start this off by saying i am not the boss of anyone’s fandom experience. everyone gets to decide for themselves how they proceed after learning about the numerous women who have come forward against neil gaiman.
the things you mention are things i’ve struggled with too — last year when i first learned about it, when i listened to the podcasts and recently again reading even more detailed (and horrifying) news reporting.
these are also struggles shared by many fans in many fandoms of creators who were accused and/or controversial and/or convicted. for example many (trans) people i know have grown up loving harry potter, and have had to deal with their favourite writer waging a vendetta against trans lives. some still participate in the hp fandom without supporting her. they can’t help their hyperfixation and still find a lot of good and a lot of friends in the fandom.
because yes, i do believe that someone can stay in such a fandom as ethically as possible. as in: i try the best that i can to make sure no further financial gains go to the creator. that means i avoid watching official streams, buying official merch, going to official cons, going to plays based on his work etc. i also amplify the women’s voices by spreading the article.
the thing to keep in mind is: there is a difference and a distance between a creator and a fandom of what they created. a huge wall even. fandom is about community, friendships, creativity, … i am on a playground playing with the characters with my friends. sharing art and fics and gifs etc. and what those characters and stories mean to me are positive things.
the core is this: if you have to live your life only consuming art by morally pure people (and who determines that?!) then you will have very little left to enjoy.
and of course i understand the urge to want to help the victims, and the guilt/worry about virtue signaling. i’m going to break those down separately.
i think the idea of ‘helping bring justice to the victims’ is good but it also puts an unreasonable amount of responsibility on your young shoulders. here’s what’s already happened: the women’s voices have been heard, there is now more widespread media covering, he has lost his reputation, hasn’t been on his platforms since last summer, he’s losing (film) projects of his work, … what else consequences are yet to come, legally or otherwise, we’ll have to see. the responsibility for that lies not with you as one single fan but with lawyers etc. and you might find it important to keep vigilant that the story doesn’t get buried (again). in that case reblogging isn’t virtue signalling but useful.
but it’s also unreasonable to expect someone to continually do that for days and days. that’s a quick ticket to depression. ultimately tumblr is, to many, a fandom space. some people use it only for pleasant fandom activities. and what if they do? you can’t know a person’s whole life: maybe they are survivors who are too triggered to participate, maybe they’ve donated to causes that help survivors, maybe they have shared the story on other platforms etc
you asked “is it bad that I keep thinking of the art that influenced me by them instead of what they did”, and i found that the most heartbreaking part of your ask. it isn’t helpful to you or to anyone to keep torturing yourself with guilt. you’re aware of the allegations, and that’s good. but don’t burn yourself out trying to live up to the impossible standard of a morally pure activist that doesn’t exist. please stop being your own thought police.
i think the fact you struggle so deeply, shows what a beautiful person you are.
now you’re going to be reading a lot of opinions. some very different from mine. am i right in continuing in fandom? i don’t know. this is my first time living life too. but i AM right that you’re a good person.
that said: protect your heart. block freely and curate a fandom space that makes you happy. avoid engaging in endless internet discourse that is bad for your mental health. step away for a while if that is what you need.
these are some intense days but i promise it gets better. the kid who loved coraline can still love coraline, but is just more informed now.
the main rule of fandom is: does it spark joy? if yes, embrace it, because that’s a wonderful and rare thing to have.

Hi guys~! ⛅👋
Long time no see! Much longer than I ever intended, in fact. Truth be told, I wanted to make a public post sooner, but I've had a lot to catch up on in terms of notifications and messages since logging back in a few days ago. I've also made some changes that I will address shortly, but first of all I wanted to thank those of you who have reached out with so much care and understanding during my absence. Adjusting has been a slow and fragile process for me -still is-, and I sadly haven't responded directly to everyone yet because of it, but I wanted to say how much I appreciate your patience and support nonetheless. 🥹 🙏
Long story short, I was gone for five months due to a huge burnout, then progressively found my spark again somewhere along the way and have since mostly recovered. It was my wonderful friend @drones-of-innocence who reached out to me outside of Tumblr, and her sense of initiative is largely the reason why I managed to make this post in a somewhat reasonable delay. 😅💖 With that said however, I must also mention that I've deleted a lot of stuff from my page and have removed most of my work from the public eye as well. This may seem quite drastic and frankly a little unsettling, but I assure you that it was a thoroughly considered and reasoned decision! The thing is that I was still getting lots of notes on these drawings everyday and… To put it simply, I didn't want that anymore. 🙇♀️ Experiencing popularity was very detrimental to me in the long run and I needed to put an end to it for the sake of my own wellbeing; at least for now.
Which brings me to my next point.
After mulling it over for a while, I've decided that I would not be returning as an active creator in the Mario community this time around. 👐 Making fanart for this franchise (with such a high and continuously maintained degree of involvement) had a lot to do with my health's decline and I've come to realize that I wanted to direct my focus elsewhere going forward. For that reason, there are things which I know will never be repeated again in the future, both in regards to my art and online presence in general, but that's alright. Things change, as they do and should. I'm looking forward to reuniting with folks and would be very happy to stay in touch with those of you who wish to message me privately. Like my lovely pal @istadris said, what matters most about any fandom are the friends you make in it. ☺️
And speaking of which-

@ody-and-fanatu That's so sweet of you, thank you! 💗 I'm glad you've enjoyed my contribution to the fandom. It was fun while it lasted! 💫 My visual ideas may be gone from my page, but most of my written posts and replies are still there for anyone who wants to revisit those at least, so there's that! And I'd also like to answer some of the asks I still have in my inbox at some point. Knowing that you hold my art in such high regard makes really happy! 🥰 Unfortunately, the other account that I have is reserved for my professional work and I prefer to keep them separate from one other, but the good thing is that I intend to go back to this blog occasionally. Hoping to see you around! Cheers! 🥂

@heiressofdoodles Thanks, I appreciate that! ✨ I'm honestly doing much better than I was earlier this Spring. Back then, I was running on empty and on the verge of crashing without even knowing it. Being in constant physical pain was one thing, but feeling mentally and emotionally drained on a daily basis was another entirely, and something had to be done. It took me a moment to really figure out what was wrong, but thankfully I realized very quickly what was causing it and applied the breaks with all my might. One of my main priorities now is to be more alert and respect my own boundaries to make sure that this never happens again. 🥲

@keakruiser Thank you. 🙏💐 I'm just glad to have found my footing again. Feels good to be able to create freely.^^ Hope you're doing well too!
Special thanks also to @pianokantzart, @jelly-fish-wishes, @katlyntheartist, @triniji and @wahooitsamee for their kind words. 🫂 Your graciousness and consideration means a lot to me. 💝
As for all the nice people who sent me anon comments and well wishes, I tried to summarize my thoughts as best I could in this update, but if there's anything else you'd like to say or know, don't hesitate to ask me anytime! Now that I feel like myself again, I think I'm gonna hang out on Tumblr for a little bit. I'll be excited to see what you guys have been up to in the meantime! 🤗 Wishing you all a very good day and pleasant Fall. 🍂

They’re back and better than ever, I’ve been hyperfixating on them and the movie as of recently(and Sonic shhh…)
Oh my moon stuff under the cut
With that being said, what happened to oh my moon? Well, I deleted it. Why? Many reasons, that I won’t get into right now. I feel when I made it, I didn’t have the skills to properly put my ideas into a story. SO! I’m going to be doing a re write!
I’ve started to jot down ideas and things for the rewrite, and so far it’s coming out GREAT! I’m still gonna keep a few things from the original story that I liked, like the moon prophecies and Giovanni’s take over. But other than a few other things it’s going to be completely different!
Will my ocs return? YUP! And new ones I’ve never introduced before!! They’re going to be key parts to the story instead of one off back ground characters. And they’re getting A HUGE overhaul and redesign, plus new personality and relations. Plus new VILLAINS, who? Can’t say😇
Over all I’m excited to revisit this project. I had a lot of issues of it in the past which is part of reason why I deleted it. And even when I started to first write the original fic, I was extremely cynical about the whole thing. Which left a bad taste in my mouth about it in whole.
As I’ve improved greatly from the two year period of me not being active in this fandom, I feel this story deserves the care it’s needs. Hopefully you will all like to stay and see my process. Love you all!💕 I’ll be back with more art (and sonic stuff BUT AHH)

I just saw Blitzø get called Stolas stockholm victim I can't with this fandom anymore😭
😂 As outrageously incorrect and stupid as that take is, I'm going to go on a tangent here. I hope you don't mind.
I think every fandom has annoying people with awfully terrible takes in it. People with zero media literacy. People who hatewatch. People who think they're entitled to the exact show they would've wanted, which has nothing to do with the actual, existing show.
This is especially true for queer media, and especially true for queer cartoons. (Hi, yes. I was active in the Adventure Time, Steven Universe, Voltron, and She-Ra fandoms when those shows were airing, respectively. I've seen some stuff). Some people just can't handle queer cartoons, period. If the queer characters/ships are soft and wholesome, they're infantilising and boring, and if they're complex and nuanced and actually have conflict, they're abusive and problematic. You'll hear the same recycled arguments over and over again. Like, the shit some people are saying about Blitz and Stolas after The Full Moon? Is literally almost word-for-word what they said about Catra and Adora post-season 3 of She-Ra (and even at the end of the show).
Here's the thing, though! Those people and their bad takes are not what I want to think about what I think about a fandom. Those aren't the people I want to call the fans. They don't deserve that title. Not when so many other people are out there dedicating their time to making gifs and art and meta posts, and writing fic, and commenting/reblogging to show support, and sliding into people's DMs to scream and squee together about a thing they love.
At the end of the day, "fandom" is just a lot of people each doing their own thing. Which people you engage with and allow to stay within your line of sight will determine your fandom experience. Fandom can be a huge, convoluted, online space full of people who are constantly arguing with one another and whose takes make you unfathomably angry... Or it can be you and your 5 friends and mutuals who scream gleefully at one another in 2-note posts. You can't control what others post online, but you can control your engagement with it.
How? Well, here's what I personally do to avoid getting upset by people's stupid opinions online:
Filter 'critical' and 'anti' tags (eg. #anti stolitz #anti vivziepop #Helluva Boss critical #HB critical #vivziepop critical). Many people actually do tag their critical posts because they know it's the respectful thing to do!
If I come across a post that has one or more of those tags, obviously, I don't click through to see it under any circumstances.
If I stumble across a stranger's untagged post with hate/criticism that upsets me: I stop reading and BLOCK. Immediately. I don't look back. I don't finish reading. I don't engage. I just block block block. I <3 the block button, seriously.
If I feel my mind reeling from a bad take I just came across: I take a step back, close my phone, breathe, remember life is beautiful sometimes. Go back and watch an episode I really like. Clean my living space a little. Vent about it to a friend (but only if I really need to, because if not, I'd rather not dwell on it).
If I'm starting to feel the need to reply to someone's bad take (directly or via my own post), I instead make the decision to channel that energy into making fandom posts out of love. (I don't do this just with fandom. If I see something transphobic online, I usually react by reblogging a bunch of trans art or trans positivity posts on my main, for example). I like to think of it as putting some positivity out into the world to compensate for the negativity I just saw. So, for example, if I see someone shitting on my blorbo, I may make a silly post just saying how much I love blorbo. Or I'll make (or draft) a post about how interesting I find some of blorbo's actions. Or reblog another person's positive/interesting post about blorbo.
And finally, I stay the hell away from Twitter. Or at least, if I go on Twitter, I try my best to avoid any tweet that has text in it instead of just art. Even the people who have good opinions spend too much time arguing with the people who have bad opinions on there. I don't want to see people's bad takes! No, not even while reading founded and perfectly articulated criticism of those bad takes! So I just limit my time on Twitter. And again, if someone is putting bad takes on my TL (even if it is to counter them), I unfollow and block as needed.
All this to say, yes, it really fucking sucks to read the opinions of people who don't understand and who hate the characters and ships and worlds you love. Gosh it's the worst. But you can curate your fandom experience. You can focus on the things you can control. You have the power to decide if your fandom experience is draining or fun!
And because I don't know how to finish this, here, have a Stolitz kiss to heal you:
We will keep winning and there's nothing the haters can do about it. 😌
#helluva boss#stolitz#curate your experience#Long post#Kinda?#As someone who was around when Catradora seemed to be crashing and burning: we will win. Ignore the haters#Trust the process#The gays are traumatised and acting accordingly AND THAT'S OKAY#Also go and watch She-ra if you haven't <3#And SU and AT#fandom wank

Let my man dance with his man!
Q. Not gonna lie the ballroom dancing thing was a little too on the nose, I'm not sure why they felt the need to do that. His baseball and Martial arts backgrounds were both right there.
A. So this is going to sound mean but I'm an American, unfortunately, so I can say it. Sometimes the average viewer needs it spelled out for them in a very obvious, in your face kind of way. Twitter proves daily that people will believe anything you say so long as you make it short and easy to follow (stay away from Twitter). The ballroom dancing thing was a nice stereotype that the audience could easily follow. That's it. That's why they didn't use baseball or martial arts. If you're talking to Linda in Youngstown, Ohio, or Barbara in Tulsa, Oklahoma and you say 14 year old Eddie loves to ballroom dance, it conjures up a very particular image of that little boy in their head. It's ignorant, stereotypical, and incorrect but it's their truth (gag me). They're not writing this Eddie storyline for the fandom. They're writing it for the general audience. How a fan consumes this show is not nearly the same as how a typical average viewer consumes this show. This storyline is being written for them to follow. Two episodes ago they had the gay character insinuate that Eddie is not straight, and that Buck might have feelings for him (he absolutely does). In the two episodes that followed, the audience has seen four FaceTime calls, all of them paralleled to the actual canon couples that were shown in those episodes, one included the two of them cooking together, and all dealt with Christopher and parenthood. Now the audience also knows that Eddie used to ballroom dance and loved it. It's a nonsensical little information nugget in the grand scheme of things, but to certain viewers it was one more check in the 'yep he's a gay man' column. It was on the nose because it was supposed to be on the nose. They wanted people to get the implication it makes. I hate that it's effective because people need a better understanding of things, but I also get why the show did it that way. It was a very quick way to tick another box for the average viewer. And all the show cares about is getting the average viewer from point A to point B. People are wilfully ignorant and stupid sometimes, anon. Occasionally the show has to take that into account when telling a story.
Thank you Nonny. 🤗
I absolutely hate that Ali had to make this point, but the most horrible thing is that she is right. 🤢
This isn't purely an American issue though. I know plenty of people in my own life who would draw the same conclusions from this.
When my son was little, his favourite Lego sets were all from 'Lego and friends'. They come in purple boxes and the characters are mainly girls. They're really fun sets to make. Very intricate and beautiful.
But yeah... once in a while someone felt the need to comment on him having made the choice to play with a "girl's toy" *insert huge eye roll here* and how that might somehow be linked to his future sexuality. He was four years old at the time.🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ The idiocy of stereotyping people. 🙄
Heads up! For anyone who is giving me the shifty eyes for reposting Ali's updates instead of reblogging. Read this.
Remember, no hate in comments, reblogs or inboxes. Let's keep it civil and respectful. Thank you.
If you are interested in more of Ali’s posts, you can find all of her posts so far under the tag: anonymous blog I love.

In Defense of the Phandom (Mostly): Dan, Phil, and Our Parasocial Social Club
Refer to my previous pinned post for an explanation of and outline for this project. Now that I'm done going through my old reblogs (god, it took forever), it's time to actually research and write this script! This will be my pinned post for the foreseeable future, so you can come back to it by clicking on my blog for the current status of this part of the process. (Note from February 15 - everything is on hold for now while I wrap up my dissertation!)

More details below the cut!
Research → peer reviewed or published literature:
I read a few things (like Haidt's The Anxious Generation) while I was in the process of searching academic databases, but most of the 403 works I have saved to Zotero for this are currently unread. They're not all the same length or will take the same amount of time to read, so the completion proportion is just getting updated based on vibes. I'm absolutely not referencing all 403 of these things in the script - I just cast a wide net for materials I thought might be relevant. Furthermore, there are some things I didn't save that I know I'll be referencing, like some of the Pew Research Center's work in the early to mid 2010s on teenagers and technology, or the journalistic coverage of what got my school district in huge trouble in 2011.
Research → Social media and forum archives:
The collection of posts, art, and fic (other than mine) to reference in the video. For regular posts and art, especially by people who have long since abandoned their accounts or whose content went pretty viral, I feel comfortable just showing things in the video with credit as examples. For fic, I intend to just discuss trends more broadly and vaguely since, as a fic writer myself, I know we tend to get more flack and less acclaim for our work and therefore prefer to stay out of the spotlight. Let me know if you think I should handle this differently - the academic impulse is to credit sources and reproducible searches for every single thing you do, but that's definitely not best practice for phandom history since we have so much "forbidden" lore. I'll also be reading the IDB forum front-to-back, listening to things like the phandom podcast, reading the current generation of phanzines, and looking at recent (and historical, if anyone has any) surveys done of phannies within the community. I'm assuming those folks would appreciate credit and/or a shoutout.
Research → The great rewatch:
Rewatching everything DNP-related so I can talk about it from more recent memory (and read what's left of the original comments for DNP videos that are still up at their original locations). I know there's a playlist for this but I also know it's incomplete, so I have been doing some poking around myself and will probably continue to.
Research → Discussions with other phannies:
The first task is to sort that whole Zotero collection into more manageable sub-collections (on PSR on PSIs, on mental health, on YouTube platform history, etc), which is what I'm currently working on.
Writing → Introduction, background, and conclusion sections
See old pinned post for the outline. Will expand details here once research is mostly done (I plan to read and watch everything in the research section aside from talking to other phannies, then complete the script's rough draft, then talk to others on call, then integrate that with and finalize the script).
Writing → 2009-2013
See above.
Writing → 2014-2018
See above.
Writing → 2019-2025
See above.
Writing → Long tangents (fandom, RPF, and PSRs/PSIs)
See above. These tangents are kind of mini video essays in and olf themselves, so I may write them while I'm reading through my saved stuff in Zotero and before I rewatch all the DNP videos.
#dan and phil#phan#dnp#daniel howell#amazingphil#amy writes#i feel weird putting this in the main tags but given it's been TWO WEEKS WITHOUT A PHUPLOAD no one's gonna mind#as indicated - this is now pinned on this sideblog! more minor status updates will just be tagged “amy writes” so follow if you want those

i normally don’t contribute much of my opinions on chapter content n themes bc a. i think my role in fandom spaces is that of a fanartist and I want to keep my art at the forefront, and b. I am Insecure about how little of the manga I have actually consumed and don’t think I have a solid foundation on which i can offer any coherent arguments or insight. generally I like to leave the long meta 2 people who have been genuinely invested in delving into the manga with the intent of analyzing it . y'all do gods work u are the reason i am not flying through this series completely blind
that being said, i am not here to give criticism on pacing or story cohesion bc quite simply, that is not my wheelhouse. i do, however, want to offer my 2 cents on the concept of choosing to live for others as someone who (like a lot of people is the vibe i’m getting) also struggles w depression and self-worth issues and sees aspects of themselves in megumi as a result. i want to reiterate tht this is not an analysis, these r just my gojo voice personal feelings n u r allowed 2 feel differently based on your own experience :)
let me just say first of all that I can 100% empathize with people wanting to see megumi choose to live fr himself after a lifetime spent in a system notorious fr stripping people of their agency and turning them into tools. i think in a perfect world he Does come to the realization that he’s worth living for. but i also think that him /not/ having crossed that bridge yet is also a very valid n realistic outcome. he's a kid, he's just had the worst experience of his life, he's traumatized and then some -- i only have a bachelor's in psychology and god knows i'm no doctor but personally i wouldn't call that a mental space where self-love is likely to stick
it’s hard to claw yourself out from rock bottom. to expect someone to immediately be able to make the transition from being in the worst mental state of their life to realizing that they are worthy as a person is a tall order that i honestly don't think many people wld b able to fulfil. /I/ certainly haven’t been, and living for others has honestly been what’s kept me going for a long fucking time. even when I’m not necessarily at a low point, I still rly struggle w liking myself n thinking i’m a good person, but what’s been a genuine lifeline fr me when i can't love myself is to direct that love Outwards. If nothing else I know that I have things I can create, and things I can offer others. I've spent countless hours forcing myself to acknowledge that, no matter how much i don’t believe them, if the people around me insist that they see something of value in me or in my work; something tht makes them love me Despite, then that alone is worth staying alive for.
i personally (although i can see how others wld disagree) don’t view the 'living for others' frame of mind as waiting for someone to save you, but rather as holding out hope that there is More out there than your own self-loathing will let you believe. For megumi, it wld seem that his something more was the people he cares about. Yuuji gave him the agency to choose whether or not to keep living, and megumi made that decision of his own accord, which fr someone at their absolute lowest is still a huge achievement! there was agency in that decision, there was selfishness--regardless of the underlying motivation it proved that he /wants/ to live. little side note but i think that megumi Making a selfish decision to live for others' sake should also give a bit of hope that he does have it in him to eventually be able to b equally selfish in the value he places on himself.
anyway that's what i got source: i'm depressed . n look i get that with so little of jjk left, it Is frustrating that we probably Won't see megumi come to the conclusion that he's worthy and that he should live for and love himself. but at the same time i don't think that his decision to keep living for others should b condemned either, bc as someone who has also yet to cross that bridge, sometimes that rly is the first step
#hina.txt#jjk spoilers#jjk manga spoilers#jjk leaks#dont take this too seriously gsdgjhsd i'm mostly content 2 b happy he's back and smiling :'>#now back 2 ur regularly scheduled fun pictures

Earlier today, a girl shot me a DM thanking me for not listening to people saying Melodi's body shape is unrealistic or fetishy and choosing to double down on her being a top-heavy P-shaped anorexic lanky long-armed twig lady.
She said, I quote, "I look like that IRL, and have the back problems and eating disorders to prove it. I have gigantomastia and have to get breast reduction surgeries to keep them in check [she described a lot of medical problems that come with the tissue growing too much here, too, but I cut it out cause it's pretty visceral]. I saw your post saying you're not intentionally putting representation in your game [like a year old post at this point] and this isn't about representation, it's just something that made me feel good about myself knowing someone finds my weird body shape attractive."
I told her that she is loved, and thanked her, and said that I hope that she can live a fulfilling and good life despite her disease.
She said "Same to you about your arthritis!" and that was that.
Little moments like that are why I make art and why I don't just do "what sells." I was willing to give up a huge portion of my fanbase by not flocking to Twitter in 2018 and staying here on this weird site full of people who regularly annoy me because it's my fuckin home. I was willing to leave the brony fandom after massive success in it. I am willing to receive hate-reviews from people saying my characters are "too sexualized" or that they "don't have enough identity-representation."
When people come along to tell me that something I'm doing made them happy or feel appreciated and loved, or that I helped make the hard times worth it for them, that's what really matters to me. Not filling quotas, not making characters with relatable social issues, not shoving politics or ideologies into my game to "send a message," but just those moments where the occasional person comes along and thanks me for never caving to social norms and continuing to just do the weird shit I love doing.
I love you, weird body shape girls.
Just because God hit "Random" on your body shape doesn't mean you're ugly, weird, gross or unwanted.
You're bootiful.
Also I just gotta be a snide bitch at the last line because this is Jay we're talking about. "But Jay! You'd get SO MANY MORE people coming to you and thanking you if you PUT SOME REPRESENTATION-QUOTA CHARACTERS IN YOUR GAME TO BAIT THEM OUT, LITERALLY SLAPPING THEM IN JUST TO GET BROWNIE POINTS AND INTERNET HUGS AND ACTING LIKE THAT MAKES YOU A GOOD PERSON."
That shit isn't genuine and your sense of feeling represented by disingenuous ideology-bait is as fake and fleeting as seeing a corporation put up a pride flag on their profile in February. They are using you to sell their product and you're praising them for it. I will never put a character into any work I create with the intention of representing a group of people or an ideological belief, because my characters are fictional storytelling devices, not strawmen who serve as a walking wikipedia article for a culture that the media has deemed an oppressed minority group to talk down to the audience instead of talking to the other characters.

It's Easter. Your daughter's first Easter. You've been planning this for weeks, taking care of every detail.
The baby is in her high chair, her cheeks full of peach mush and her little hands sticky. You watch her as she babbles, excited about the colored eggs you painted yourself with such care the night before.
And the best is yet to come.
You go up to the bedroom, open the closet, and pull out a huge Easter bunny costume. It's white and fluffy, with long ears, fuzzy gloves, a pink nose, and a little tail that looks like a cloud.
But it's not for you.
It's for Steve.
You walk downstairs with the costume in your arms and find him sitting on the couch, reading. You stand right in front of him and show him the costume as if you were presenting a work of art.
“Stevieeee... “you call out to him. “I need you to do me a little favor...”
Steve looks up from the book, which he slowly lowers, and when he sees the costume, he purses his lips.
“Is that... a costume? “he asks, arching an eyebrow.
“Yes. For you. For the baby. For her first Easter. It's going to be a beautiful memory!”
"A costume? For me?” He repeats, half laughing, half scandalized. “Nooooo, don't try your puppy dog eyes... ”
And you, without saying a word, raise your eyebrows, pout, tilt your head, eyes wide. Just like you trained in front of the mirror. He watches you, pretends to resist... but you know you've already got him.
“Oke! Fine!" he says, letting out a sigh. “But this stays between us. If Bucky finds out...”
He lets out a chuckle as he stands up. You carry him into the bedroom and help him into his suit. He's trying to keep his ears on straight, you're holding back your laughter as he struggles to get into the rabbit's padded body, and the tail... oh, the tail! You adjust it for him, with a laugh that hurts your stomach.
“This is ridiculous..." he murmurs, looking at himself in the mirror.
“Ridiculously cute," you reply, and give her a quick kiss before running off to get your camera.
When Steve comes down the stairs, the baby looks at him dumbfounded. She didn't expect to see a rabbit, let alone a rabbit of this size, appear in the house. her little eyes light up, she claps her hands, and screams with joy. She doesn't know what she's seeing, but she loves it.
Steve approaches her, carries her carefully, and starts hopping around with her in his arms.
“Hello, miss," he says in an amused voice. “I'm the official Easter Bunny of this house. I come in search of laughter and candy... especially your mom's!”
“Hey,“ you laugh, ”Those are mine!” as you try to take them from him.

hopping along, Sparklecare doodle requests are also open to brighten the mood a little!<3
Huge ass yap under cut tldr fuck you need kittycorn you backstabbed your fans
i am sure everyone has gotten the news, so i wont go too in details here. However, Sparklecare has been outed as being full of incest - more specifically the CometCare AU - and i cannot just say nothing and support that
I know kc is a survivor of those things, and needing to exteriorize i can understand. but hiding it? hiding extreme-lenghs incestuous relationships in the root of a webcomic you allowed minors to read??? (for a year and a half for cc, over 8 for sch)?? while ACTIVELY lying to your fanbase about being grossed out by it?? I am so i so unbelievably upset by the fact my biggest hyperfixation of over two years now was just filled to the brim with incest in the backstage by an undercover proshipper. i was never into cc like i was into Sch (even though i really did like it at first, up until the WWW arc), but some of the characters with the most incest to their names were my faves and now I can't even lay my eyes on sly without having goosebumps (- and haven't been able to for around a month.)
Kittycorn, you built a community of traumatized individuals. you comics were supposed to be emotional outlets where learning how to get out and deal with trauma healthily is the main subject. You have a fandom of pretty young people (14-21 for the most part), which are not only vulnerable due to their ages but also due to the traumatic experiences they may have gone through for sparklecare to resonate with them, and be a comfort to them. You betrayed us. you betrayed all of us. How did you think there was any way this was going to end well?? genuinely. I've seen three people threaten to harm or end themselves in the past 12hours, so please tell me how did you look at your community full of vulnerable low-mentalhealth people, mostly children, who relied on the "comfort" stories you had to tell to get over their traumatic experiences and went "yup. let's fetishize and encourage half my fanbase's traumas in the backstage!"
Overall, as much as i despise kittycorn now and am filled to the gut with rage thinking about all of this, i in all honesty doubt i will stop posting about sparklecare entierely. this hyperfixation is a too much important chunk of my identity now, i am not exaggerating when i say it would take years to undo it's effects on me. i guess this will be one of those msi/omori/okegom situations where the fandom enjoys the final product on their own away from the creator and they all secretly want them off the internet and in therapy forever. Plus its not like i interacted with the main tag a lot anyway. if you don't want to keep on posting about this comic because you feel betrayed, thats fine! best of luck on your next journey <3 if you still want to stay, hell yeah, this is our comic now! ill see y'all over at #sperklacera (damn that offbrand tag has never come more handy lmao) we fans are the only thing we have left for each other, and you guys deserve art of your faves that wasn't made by someone that secretly drools on 70's parent x 10yo child relationships. We've all we got now.
Oh and, most importantly: Fuck you Kittycorn
