was reminded recently that this month is the 10-year anniversary of my Leverage vid Parachute, aka one of the most popular things I've ever made. Happy ten years to this vid! I still adore this OT3.

a few making-of reminiscences about this vid below!

The sound of Parker's parachute snapping in the wind, at the very beginning, was from freesound.org, and one of the first times I put non-source audio in a vid! I love how that little sound takes you into the soundspace and focuses you on the central metaphor of the vid.

This was also one of the first vids where I edited the music in a levelling-up kind of way. I had cut songs before to make them shorter for vidding, but in this one, I needed to add more song—to make the transition from Parker/Hardison to Eliot have more space to breathe. So I copied the instrumental section from elsewhere in the vid and copied it to create some space between the chorus and the verse introducing Eliot.

I accidentally clipped a WHOLE BUNCH of Leverage in the wrong framerate for this vid? This is back when I was using MPEG Streamclip to make clips for vidding, and I input the wrong framerate. As a result a bunch of clips had extra frames that I had to cut out by hand (reclipping would have taken too long—this was in the last gasp days of using MPEG Streamclip when it would chug and huff away for ages to make a clip, because the footage was getting too big for the program OR my computer to really handle easily).

There's one shot of Hardison that I wish I'd colour-corrected (I colour-corrected some stuff in this vid but it was before my era of being super into colour correction). He's way too green! I notice it every time! Poor green Hardison.

Making this vid really taught me about how important it is to know what kinds of shots you've got and how to spend them—in order to create the OT3 in the vid, it's essential to withhold shots of the three of them in the same frame till almost the end. It's twosomes, twosomes, twosomes, up until the end when SUDDENLY you get these fabulous shots of all three of them in frame and it's such a RELIEF to see that. It's not like, a shot of the three of them in bed together or anything, obviously I didn't have that footage (Leverage Redemption, lookin at you) but the fact that those kinds of shots are withheld throughout the vid and then lavished on the viewer suddenly creates a feeling of something snapping into place, I think, that you wouldn't have otherwise.

When I was vidding the Parker/Eliot section, I struggled a lot, because they had the lyric "hand behind my neck/arm around my waist" and I was looking and looking for stuff where they touched, but the interesting thing about them is that they DON'T touch much, Parker just doesn't touch people who aren't Hardison very much, and the vid flowed much better when I gave up on matchy-matching that lyric that was literally about touch and instead showing the moments where Eliot is helping and respecting Parker (eg teaching her to fight, giving her a boost). Sometimes the lyrics should be disobeyed!

I loved making this vid so much that I made another vid right after it, using some footage that I hadn't used in this vid because it was a little too slow or too sad, and I love that vid too but it gets less attention. “I… kicked them out.” Hawk’s voice is rough, the echoes of his sobbing last night, inconsolable in Tim’s arms. He almost sounds surprised at himself, unsure that what he’s saying is true.

A canon-divergent fix-it where Tim stays in Fire Island for an extra week while Hawk detoxes, and they discover whether they can trust each other with their truth.

Giving credit to original posters, creators, artists, photographers, and sources matters.

It matters to the person who put in the time and effort to create the content. Whether it's finding that photo and editing it to make it stand out. Or downloading that video, editing it, coloring it, turning it into a gif, adding subtitles, etc. Regardless of what you do (job/student), I'm sure you too would not like it if someone else takes credit for your work.

It matters to people who want to know context. Was it said by a fan, your favourite's bestie, a reputable journalist? Published by a tabloid or the New York Times? From last week or last year? Is it an original, or did someone get photoshopped in for a meme?

It matters to people who may want to explore more content of that particular publication, so they will continue to publish top-notch articles. Or give kudos to a budding artist for their outstanding art work, potentially encouraging them to create more. Or compliment that photographer on capturing their fave in just the right light.

It matters, because even though it may take you an extra minute or so to add on that name or link, it is the right thing to do.

Playground Swap AU!

This is an AU that swaps out which playgrounds the 16 managers from 1.3 reside in as well as trying to strike a balance between their own personality and the personality of the Cog they're swapping places with. Additionally, "gimmicks" {usually the cheat or power the manager is most known for} are swapped. Some job titles are swapped, while some are not- and that one was completely random just to add to the chaos of this AU.

Credit to the creation of this AU belongs in part to @peachymunmagenta for giving me the initial idea and I basically took it and ran off with it. They also came up with the TTC/AA swap!

This post is considered the "master list" of this AU. That means over time I will edit it to include links of extra information/lore made in other posts.

New Management Changes - Effective Immediately!

It has come to our attention that our newly hired managers have not had the expected outcome of getting rid of the Toons. While progress has been made in slowing them down, that isn't enough. We will be experimenting with new corporate structures that will move some of you to different districts to see if this helps the Toon problem. Some of you have also changed departments- if that is the case, contact your new boss for your new uniform within 24 hours of receiving this notice or else YOU'RE FIRED.

The new assignments are as follows:

1. Toontown Central & Acorn Acres

Swapped pairs: Buck/Chip and Spruce/Brian

Buck Ruffler, Acorn Acres Kudos Manager

Duck Shuffler, level 50 Cashbot

Fight concept

-Gains an override so that his last minute changes to projects become efficient and more beneficial to the company

-A little more serious, but he's still pretty out there.

-Buck's override is triggered if he spins his slots and rolls 777 {and will deactivate with another 777}. Additionally, his other slot outcomes have been changed while the printing stays the same.

-During an override, Buck would be very similar to Chip in canon in that he'd be monotone and incredibly hostile to Toons {but his speech impediment would still be there lol}. I feel like in a battle this would be reflected by Buck doing more damage, his slot outcomes changing to things that are way more negative for Toons {but also WAY more random}, the inability to receive a 'bust' outcome, and/or getting more slot rolls per turn.

Chip Revvington, Toontown Central Street Manager

Chainsaw Consultant, Level 5 Bossbot

-He leaves firing employees more up to chance than anything

-Despite being such a low level, since he's a manager he can fire any non-manager Cog. He just couldn't fire any managers that are above him, which is fine for the company since they don't want layoffs that high up their management chain

-Without his override anymore and also some of Buck's personality, he becomes quite friendly and even slightly outgoing. He even jokes about his chainsaw and how scary it looks when he's nothing like that

-Has WAY less cheats since he's literally the first manager now. It would still operate based on an RPM meter, but it'd be WAY more straightforward and forgiving... Something like +1K/turn regardless of what attacks are used, cheats draining all his RPM regardless of when it was used or how much he has, only having 2-3 cheats {and just one RPM meter}, and each cheat's trigger is easy to figure out or is literally said to players.

Spruce Campbell, Toontown Central Kudos Manager

Treekiller, Level 12 Cashbot

-He strategically steals paper and logs {along with other resources} from the Toons

-Although he still SEEMS to talk and act exactly the same as in canon, this is now just an act he puts on for the Toons so they don't realize how genius he actually is

-Becomes a little full of himself, but not to unreasonable standards. He just likes to boast about himself a lot

-In battle, his cheats would both be annoying like Brian's and use some of the resources he's been stealing

Brian {no last name}, Acorn Acres Street Manager

Prethinker, Level 24 Sellbot

-He just works on more projects than before but becomes a bit more outspoken

-Is now okay with admitting he made mistakes and doesn't hold it against himself very much

-His cheats now reflect the resources around him and have an underlying theme of wood and acorns

-Since he's also later in the game, his cheats are more complex and allow for his strategic prowess to truly shine

-A bit bolder than before, which sometimes backfires on him. This is especially true if he accidentally makes a miscalculation

2. Barnacle Boatyard & Ye Olde Toontowne

-She convinces large groups of people to have class action lawsuits

-Still very quiet, but now it's because she's incredibly bitter and jaded towards everyone and doesn't wanna talk to anyone

-Still has self esteem issues, but she buries this really deep so that way nobody knows about it

-If she does speak, it's usually something really vague. She prefers to do her mob collecting from the shadows so as not to trace it back to her

Prester Virgil, Barnacle Boatyard Kudos Manager

Rainmaker, Level 16 Lawbot

-He gains weather changing abilities, which he uses to cause disasters and convince the company they need to make insurance claims {or sometimes normal Cogs}

-Doesn't use... as many big words

-A bit more soft spoken, but still pretty obnoxious about things

Deep Diver, Level 10 Boardbot

-She's put her defenses up and does her deep searches with more bias and sass

-With bias now comes sometimes overlooking things or having a confirmation bias where things might not get as thoroughly checked

-Mary is now also a perfectionist trying to work through this flaw in her performance because it's causing her a lot of stress

Gatekeeper, Level 7 Boardbot

-Does extensive research into pretty much anyone she or the company wants to interact with, hire, ETC. to determine if they're allowed to or not

-A little more mellowed out and not so bad of a perfectionist anymore, but she hasn't completely toned it down

-Quieter, but it's because instead of talking so much she's observing. This will inform future judgements she makes about others, for better or for worse

3. Daffodil Gardens & The Brrrgh

Swapped Pairs: Cathal/Flint and Ben/Cosmo

Firestarter, Level 20 Bossbot

-He tries to help out his dad from The Brrrgh, but he just seems to always cause problems

-Very chill and laid back manager who outwardly doesn't show much reaction to his mistakes... at first.

-Over time {and in battle this would be reflected by entering different phases}, he becomes more and more insecure about it until he's clearly pretty anxious and worried. This results in more severe mistakes being made and so the cycle goes on and on

-Tries to get praise from his dad, but he's pretty sneaky around the subject

-He will gain Flint's fire abilities, and it does NOT mix well with his anatomy that's not built to take the heat

Flint Bonpyre, Daffodil Gardens Kudos Manager

Multislacker, Level 24 Sellbot

-Flint is 'burnt out' and doesn't have the emotional capacity to do much work. This would be literally represented by the flame on his head always being very weak

-Very quiet since he just doesn't have the energy to speak much

-Spends most of his time kinda staring off into space or only putting in just enough effort to not get fired

Benjamin Biggs, The Brrrgh Kudos Manager

Bellringer, Level 38 Sellbot

-He gets to have a mafia of his own and they go around "convincing" people to buy from COGS, Inc.

-Uses gossip and blackmail to control everything, basically

-Not really much for getting himself into trouble anymore and is WAY more interested on just finding dirt on anyone and everyone in case he encounters them at some point and needs to "persuade" them

-Instead of Satellite Investors, he has Bell Boys... lol

Plutocrat, Level 13 Cashbot

-He uses the power of his money to create quite a bit of gossip. Money talks for him a lot

-Whether it's starting fake rumors, starting true rumors, or hearing gossip about somebody, he's paying for it

-While they no longer appear in battle, his Satellite Investors still help him out with a lot of stuff

-His cheats would still be ice themed, but they wouldn't be as extreme both due to not having a frozen office and for being earlier in the line

Hi there! We received an ask but Tumblr has decided to eat it before our very eyes. The gist of the question was:

What's the best way to support creators of color in the fandom & the efforts of this blog, as a person who is not of those demographics themselves?

Here are some answers. Feel free to chime in with answers of your own, if you are someone served by this blog!

Participate in #splash of color saturday, no matter who you are!!!!

Encourage friends to submit to us!

This blog exists to boost the fans whose creativity and voices are often overshadowed due to systemic biases in fandom and society at large. We want to share content that our creators want to be shared. They a) need to know we exist, b) need to know we're a friendly space so they aren't afraid to tag us, and c) want what little extra visibility we can offer them.

Through the mods' friends and organic connections, we know a lot of people who fit the demographics served by Thedas in Color. However, checking everyone's blogs and catching all the creations and content that deserve more attention could be a full time job in and of itself. There's really only one or two of us who curate the blog and it's just not possible for us to queue things on our own very far in advance. The best thing for the blog is for fans belonging to ethnic minority groups who are writing, making art, making videos, making art resources, making cosplay, gifs, meta, and more, to feel comfortable tagging @thedasincolor on their work!

It's a free reblog! Please, please tag us!

How to help the creators more broadly:

Obviously this is a huge question and we can only make the most surface level suggestions. Common decency suggests making it clear through actions & words & content that you host on your own blog that you are a safe space and an open minded ally, for a person-to-person way to make fandom kinder to us. If your blog is absolutely sterile and wiped clean of anything to do with issues pertaining to minority groups, it's unclear if you are paying attention, or care--or worse, perhaps you think that issues pertaining to minority groups are Not Suitable For Your Blog. It can be a real reddish flag for some people to not see anything.

Listen to and speak up for (but not over) fans belonging to ethnic minority groups who are highlighting weaknesses in the source material, but don't be an attack dog or white knight. Those two things go kind of a long way to making the environment a little more open to dialogues, a little more trustworthy, a little kinder, for all.

But we're talking about creators specifically:

Reblog art.

Go to an artist's page and see if they have a commissions sheet; reblog it (or share on twitter).

Make lists of creators you like and share them to your followers!

Send them kind messages (or just leave kindness in the tags of reblogs of their art) about the elements you love in their art.

Reblog writing. Tag it appropriately for your followers.

Bookmark & subscribe to fic writers. Leave kudos if you can!

Make fic rec lists!

Go on an old-fashioned Reblog Spree on a creator's blog.

Share commissions sheets, and fics, and gifs, and cosplays, and meta, that you like, in discord servers and on twitter (linking back to the creator; if they are ON that platform, reblog/retweet/reshare something they've posted their, don't repost their own work yourself).

Commission artists, writers, gifmakers.

Give donations to Ko-Fis and such just when you're thinking of them, even if you're not buying something, even if it's a few dollars. The random amounts add up :)

Be a friendly face! Every creator big or small gets to know the names in our notes over time, and the steadfast support of just consistently interacting with posts of ours is a huge creative and emotional boost.

2023 FFXV Kudos & Comments Event - January 15 to 21, 2023

What Is This?

Inspired by the Zero Comment Challenge, the goal of this event is to search for FFXV fanworks on AO3 that don’t have any (or that have very few) kudos/comments and leave kudos/comments for the creators. There are over 33,000 FFXV fanworks on AO3, and there are undoubtedly many works that slipped through the cracks, especially on fast-moving days. 

So we’re going to unearth these hidden gems and give them a little love!

How Can I Participate?

Go to the FFXV tag on AO3 and apply whatever filters you need to enjoy your experience. Then sort by Kudos and go to the very last page. Check out any works that appeal to you, and leave a kudos when you’re finished. That’s all!

While I was in the process of looking for fics for this ask, I came across one of @sitp-recs's posts that had this same theme, and almost all of the fics that I had found, she'd already recced. Liv is a lovely friend of mine, and since we both are reccing Drarry fics, it's not unusal to have some overlap. Not really? Not a fan fic, at least—I collaborated with friends for some original fics when we were kids. Lately I’ll talk through ideas and have a couple of shared AUs with a few select people, but those haven’t been fully written or shared yet.

14. What’s your all-time favorite ship?

I’m not a super shippy person. Some ships are done well, but it’s not generally what I look for when I’m reading or writing. The last shippy stuff I read and liked was Zelda and Link (Twilight Princess, Breath of the Wild, and Tears of the Kingdom), but I’m not a die-hard on any of them.

For example, probably my favorite romcom fic I’ve ever read was TP Link and Zelda, but I’d love to see TP Link with Ilia in a healthy relationship that doesn’t end in tragedy (not sure why the fandom keeps doing that to them). I haven’t found a fic like that yet, though, and I don’t care enough to write my own.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Ahhh Only Partially Applied my poor child. You deserved better. Also the Lost and Found sequel. There wasn’t a ton of plot, but I had a few concepts I’d hoped to put out there (like a little Omega/Cal Kestis action).

16. What are your writing strengths?

Convoluted plots. Also maintaining a character’s individual voice and motivations. I want to say dialog, but it really depends on the day for me.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Exposition. Filler scenes and stuff that helps a fic feel more like a full and complete story when it’s done right. Some of my favorite fics to read are slowburns that do this extremely well, but I tend to get impatient and rush things when I write.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I used to be all over it when I was a kid, but after seeing it from others, I realized it’s not my favorite thing to read unless it’s handled a certain way, like including certain words for multi-lingual characters to add to realism, or entire sentences to show that the main character (and audience) aren’t expected to recognize what a certain character is saying. Things like that. As a writer I personally avoid it now.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

On AO3? Undertale. First ever? My Little Pony, I guess? I hadn’t even seen the show, just played with the toys and started writing stories about them, if that counts.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

Ooo probably Lost and Found. It was my first long fic, and written in a frenzy of inspiration without a super firm plan beforehand. I was super burned out by the end, but it was a ton of fun and I gained a lot of friends along the way.

Have to give WWAC a shoutout, though. It was longer, actually planned out, and had a Dracula-Daily style posting schedule that made last-minute chapters super rushed, but it was an absolute joy to write, and I hope to continue the story a bit further.

This new app thing that takes Ao3 works without consent? It's basically another AI scraping BS thing and that is so disheartening.

Why should I have to opt out of this? Why should I have to take extra steps to stop someone from potentially stealing my shit, when it's not even an app that we - the writers - asked for? Why do I have to give you access to my personal email to make sure you don't use my things, sans consent, in your app I'm never going to use? That people who respect the efforts of fic writers won't use?

Why must I tell you no, explicitly, or you think that means yes? Rather than it be automatically opted out and you have to opt in?

Consent is sexy, guys. What are we doing here? Why have we forgotten that?

Why is this something you - the general you - think is okay?

If it were like, a text to speech add-on thing for Ao3 that I could opt into that would be different. Another box to click because it was added to the website. Why not make something that can be integrated into the site itself that does tts?

I'm not trying to pile on work to the Ao3 team, they are amazing and I salute them, but if there was something as a part of the site that you could use as a registered user to have tts involved I'd totally partake. Why make it something entirely outside of our scope that we only learn about via word of mouth like this?

If I wanted my shit used by a third party that doesn't care about me and my efforts, I'd put them on a third party site.

Just as I was considering unlocking my fics, too. Nope, locked Forever. Goodbye Guest Comments and Kudos.

If shit like this keeps popping up with such frequency... the esama purge of the old days is starting to look mighty enticing. The lack of appreciation for the writing and art that has been shared, without profit to the creators, is really coming to a head. Like, you know we don't have to do this right? We don't have to share the things we make with you?

It's not a right, it's a privilege.

That's not even bringing into light the disrespect it shows for podficcers, which I am not, of course. But the effort and time these people put into recording fic so that people can listen to it? That's hard shit guys. People have podded my own works sometimes - I have a blanket permission for podfic/translations in my profile as long as it's through Ao3 and appropriately linked - and it always feels so awe inspiring that someone liked my fic enough to decide to put in the effort to pod it.

Podficcers are a different breed, and they are so cool you guys. Also terrifying, but like. Super cool.

I don't want to disappear my works. I like sharing my writing, I like seeing kudos in my inbox, I like discussing my stuff with people in my discord server or in the comments section when I have the spoons. I like the increasingly rare but desperately appreciated comments in my inbox that come in.

I just updated something and now I'm worried about how this will effect my future desire to do so, my anxiety hitting the roof. Should I keep posting? Should I just say "fuck it" and yank everything now so I know it might not be stolen in the future because the internet is a fucking cesspit of thievery and entitlement now?

Probably got kind of ranty, but like, come on guys. Why? Why do people think this is okay?

I'm sure more will come to light later, but for now I just wanted to get this off my chest.

Ok actually after a discussion with a friend I decided to run some more statistics re: fanfics and engagement, so here (statistics taken off my own fanfics):

General results:

I did both the median and the average to try to smooth out any statistical outlier, but the results were roughly the same lmao

Roughly, 11,20% of readers drops a kudo after clicking on a fic (which I assume to be a good baseline for "amount of readers who clicked here on purpose and didn't quit midway through")

On average, 2,8% of readers bookmark a fic after reading it (would be curious to know if that's a general thing? Because don't really write shippy fics or the "popular" stuff so that might incurs statistical bias. If anyone else is willing to run some numbers I'd love to know.)

On average, 0,88% of readers drop a comment after the fact.

Hypotheses:

I included the release date (or something close to) of each fandom to see if there was a correlation between ratio of comments vs age of the fanbase. There was none.

There are some fandoms where I actively linked my fics everywhere and got involved with people ect ect. I included that as well to see if there was a correlation between ratio of comments vs how much it was promoted. There was not. (It is possible that people directly dmed me their impressions instead of leaving a comment, in which case sorry guys I hold your compliments close to my heart but they were unfortunately lost to time.)

I wanted to add whether or not the fandom was currently active, but that's... actually really hard to gauge (what metric to use? Amount of fics uploaded on ao3 daily? Amount of new tweets under a given hashtag?) so I didn't.

Conclusion: I couldn't find any specific reasons for these numbers so uh I guess "10% of people bother finishing your fic/3% will like it enough to bookmark it/1% will go the extra step to tell you about it" is the default, and any deviation from that norm is fandom specific.

Fandom-specific observations:

Biggest ratio of comments/hits goes to all my Fate/Stay Night & Fate/Grand Order crossover fics, weirdly enough. Either 1) the fsn fandom is really generous in comments, or 2) the fact that it's a crossover means that it attracts two very different crowds which leads to twice the usual amount of comments.

The dubious award of having the worst ratio of comments/hits goes to the Amphibia fandom with a whooping 0,41%, half as much as any other fandom. Jesus Christ. That being said it is a fandom mostly populated by kids (I think?) which is probably (?) not the case for these other fandoms.

This is a fate blog so I do have to point out that the second worst ratio of comments/hits goes to the Fate/Grand Order fandom, so I can only encourage you guys to actually comment on the fics you like.

AI: The Somnium Files has a nearly 20% of kudos per hit. Though the ao3 tag is also not very active (last I checked it could go weeks without any update) so it might be a case of "we're so starved for new fics we'll read anything at this point."

TL;DR:

It seems like on average, 10% of people drop a kudo, 3% will like it enough to bookmark it, and 1% will go the extra step of leaving a comment. If you're a fic writer and you are despairing over the amount of attention your fic gets, worry not- that is normal.

Sobbb it’s so hard to choose..... I’m pretty proud of making all the historical/literary references work in A Man of Letters, and writing-wise I’m really happy with how What you felt was real turned out. 

And I have to say I’m also proud for finally finishing Speak My Language (Sing/Eiji from Banana Fish), I originally started writing it four years ago and it’s a story I’ve been wanting to tell for a long time, but I struggled a lot with how to bring my vision to life along the way.

6. Favorite title you used

”What you felt was real, even if I wasn’t” is a quote from Ma from the final scenes in HWDTW, and I shamelessly took it as the title of my first Baoxiang/Third Prince fic because I thought it was a good thematic match + I wanted to highlight the similarities and parallels in the relationships between Baoxiang & Third Prince and Baoxiang & Ma. I guess I also thought that it works nicely even if the reader does not recognize the quote, but if you do, it adds an extra layer?

1. Do you prefer writing one-shots or multi-chaptered fics?

I prefer one-shots by a wide margin as I do not have the patience, imagination or self-discipline necessary to write multi-chaps (as evidenced by the vert slow going on the multi-chaps I have going on). It's also nice to just focus on one thing and make the whole fic about just that without worrying about plots or character arcs or other pesky details; how someone sees the summer, hidden fears and joys, the meaning of life.

2. Do you plan each chapter ahead or write as you go?

Pants! Pants! Pants!

I'm a pantser through and through. And as previously stated, I usually write one-shots, not multi-chaps, so I usually just write wherever my inspiration takes me.

9. Do you comment on stories you read?

For the most part! If I'm very, very tired I might not do it (or if the story isn't in my main fandoms) since I feel like I don't find the right words in the soup of my brain. But I do comment on all multi-chaps' chapters I follow when they update, and most of the one-shots I read. Be the change you want to see in the world.

12. how does receiving or not receiving feedback/support impact you?

I write mainly for myself, so whatever I put out there, I am happy with. However, feedback does make a huge impact on my motivation and might fuel the next piece I write. I have fics (and WIPs) that wouldn't exist without an innocent "wouldn't it be fun if…" comment left on my earlier work.

Receiving: You are my favourite person in the world. I will treasure your comment (gushing/constructive criticism/meanderings on what will happen next/whatever) and most probably will print it out and add it to my wall of People Who Keep Me Going. You liked my fic enough to leave kudos? took the time to comment on it? I love you. I love you. I love you.

When a fic doesn't get much engagement… well, depends on the fic. If it's a gen!fic I'm a bit miffed – but I still write these for myself so as long as it's out there, I'm mainly happy with myself (although I do stress like hell for the first week or so after posting and keep updating, looking for those sweet sweet dopamine-fuelling likes). And I know smut is less likely to get comments but when I see those hidden bookmarks, I do get a lovely fuzzy feeling. I see you and your horny ways. I wrote this for you.

25. What fic do you wish you got more of a response on?

I am repeating myself from an earlier ask game, but it's still Where swallows fly (the sky is burning). It's one of my favourite pieces and it was so much fun thinking about Sugar's time with the Family.

And of course, since Statistically Significant is a multi-chap (and I am bad at long-term motivation) and kudos can be left only once, every comment I get on updates fuels the fires for the next chapter…

What an interesting question. On one hand, I have to say Where swallows fly again, since it's such a multi-layered work. 65. Tell us about what you’re most looking forward to writing – in your current project, or a future project

Currently I'm mostly looking forward to writing. I'm stuck in thesis hell (again) for the coming months so I won't have time to focus on fanfic.

But that said, I am very much looking forward to introducing some New Characters when Nami gets to her study exchange in Münich in the next chapter of StatSig. Any guesses as to whom that might be? ;)

Also, I have way too many ideas for fics that get dumped in my WIP-documents (one for each ship/fandom), growing them ever longer. Pls send help.

I'm still accepting (and hoping for) more asks as I try to procrastinate working on my thesis, so anyone reading this; feel very free to ask away!
