the lil guidelines !

below are some 'general requirements' i would need you to be able to understand if we are to roleplay together ! if you are interested in roleplaying with me, please send me a pm. 'rules' are not explicitly set in stone.

THE BASICS.

I'm ur local forgetful lil guy <3 My name is Jesper, I use she/they pronouns, and I'm just a lil dude who enjoys creatively writing. I'm a full time masters student, and work part time, so my activity actively writing could potentially be sporadic come September, though I should mostly be available to chat and plot and the like if that's something u like! 

Unfortunately I also tend to have the constitution of a sickly Victorian child, so my health is another factor to note If I ever don't reply in a timely (before 1 week) fashion, please note it's not personal! Beyond of all this, I'm just a fuckin forgetful fool.

Though most of my ooc literacy will be colloquial and in small caps, I use proper literate grammar in roleplays.

I write in third person, generally multi para, though I've been out of writing practice for a while due to academic responsibilities.

That said, I've always been comfortable and most commonly roleplay multipara literate and occasionally novella, but only when I'm very inspired by a plot and/or character. I tend to match response length either way!

I do not do (oc x love interest) fandom roleplays. I do not double up in replies either, but I'm 100% down with doing multiple rps with the same person if several plots/ocs are mutually interested in!

When it comes to fandoms, I rarely roleplay canon characters. Any I do can be found here (tba), but please note they're massively personal interpretation and with my own head cannons. I am happy to write within canon/established universes though! Characters written in established universes can be found here (tba).

Also I swear a lot. Im sorry <3 if it's a big discomfort let me know and I will try to limit myself !!!

PAIRINGS AND DYNAMICS.

Pairing wise, I am a sucker for a romance but I'm also more than down for platonic relationships - and they don't have to be end up positive. Give me found family and besties and frenemies and straight up antagonistic duos.

All of my ocs are LGBT+. I do not have any heterosexual ocs, but I do have ocs who are interested in ''the opposite gender''. Some of my ocs are asexual, and some of them are non-binary or are flexible with pronouns. Queerness is something deeply embedded within me as a person, and one of the few things I share/transfer to my ocs.

Shipping is inherently based on the vibes I get from both the characters looking to be paired and the vibes from the writer, themselves. Enthusiasm and passion is exciting, and it rubs off! If you're looking forward and excited about characters, I'm going to feed off of that joy, too.

I ADORE plotting and chatting to who I'm roleplaying with. Not only is it a good way to flesh out an rp, but it’s also just fun to walk to someone who's also enthusiastic about writing! I'd love to make collaborative pinterest boards and playlists etc, if that's something you'd be interested in.

TRIGGERS.

Please tell me/direct me to your triggers and limits. Rping is for fun, and fun cannot be had with discomfort. It is never a want nor wish to cause any harm, purposeful or not. Please note if I see you have rules available to read, I will read them. Respect is a key part of writing, and the fundamental foundation to building any sort of relationship, be it casual writing buddy or beyond!

My own triggers are strong, recurring and prevalent themes of suicide, self-harm (in the context of mental unwellness) & eating disorders. explicit mentions of weight insecurities make me uncomfortable.

LIMITS & CONTROVERSIAL TOPICS.

I will not, under any circumstances, roleplay non-consensual nsfw, pe*dophila, or other such things. if you'd like clarification on anything/any topics that i haven't mentioned, please feel free to ask.

Please note that just because I haven't mentioned it here, doesn't mean I am open to roleplaying it. As I'm new here I'm not too versed on peoples' limits and preferences on this site, so I'm covering general bases.

Additionally, to reiterated: generally deplorable things involving minors, s/a between paired ocs and r*pe, in*cest will never be roleplayed/written by me. These are hard limits

Many of my characters have mature and controversial themes in relation to their backstory and characterisation. I will always endeavour to check your own limits first before I propose one of my ocs to write with you, and will be explicit about any potential triggering and mature themes they involve.

Several of my ocs deal with alcoholism/substance abuse, paranoia, homophobia, organised crime, murder, prostitution, cult behaviour/organisations, religious guilt, general mature themes and associated others. If you have any questions or desire any clarification about an oc, feel free to send me a lil msg. again, mutual respect and comfort is massively important to me - I want us both to be in a happy and healthy writing dynamic!

Additionally: please note I do not endorse any of the activities or lifestyles adopted by any of my characters. They are entirely fictional and never to be taken as 'vibes to emulate'.

PREFERENCES.

FACECLAIMS.

I am a writer inspired by other artists around me, and thus it's very common to see me reuse a faceclaim for multiple different ocs. This does not mean these ocs are carbon copies of each other; they simply have the same faceclaim. My most prevalent and used faceclaims are park seonghwa, jung wooyoung, lee jongsuk, byun baekhyun and more recently assad zaman.

I have no preference for opposite faceclaims, I just request that they're age-appropriate for the age of the character you're portraying! The full list of faceclaims I use is here.

The majority of my ocs are 25+. I have few younger ocs, and none under 19. I am far more picky when writing with them, and generally prefer to write those in their twenties and older. This is for realism, as many of my ocs would be bare minimum late twenties to be doing what they do, professionally.

tldr for this section: idgf about who ur faceclaim is. As long as they're not inherently problematic or inappropriate, I don't care what face you put to your lovely (or not) lil people.

HEY THATS TOO HARD TO CHOOOOOSE AAAAA i was one of those kids whose main personality trait was Always Has A Book In Their Hands growing up lol. and i was a very fast reader. so i have a lot of favorites. but to choose just a few: lord of the rings is definitely always way way up there, tolkien's work was my SpIn for most of my teen years. also madly in love with the six of crows duology (although it has been Too Long since i had an opportunity to reread them). and then there's this pair of books that go together called fly-by-night and flytrap, by frances hardinge, and those were some of my most very favorites in high school and i still really love them. they instilled in me my Frightened Respect Of Geese, my love for Conmen Who Secretly Have A Heart Of Gold But Wish They Didn't characters, my love for Morally Gray Violent Clever And Angry Little Girl main characters, and my adoration for fantasy worldbuilding. 10/10. in general i fucking adore fantasy and anything that will totally absorb me and make me forget that i am a real human person while im reading it lol.

oooooo!!! i actually love tomato plants. because they are easy to grow, they make yummy yummy food to eat (have you ever picked a cherry tomato and eaten it right off the vine still all warm from the sun??? 10/10 experience, absolute bliss right there), and the plants themselves smell AMAZING. tomato vines are one of my favorite scents ever. (i don't like most scents, so this is not a super competitive list, but they just smell so good okay.)

!!!! okay SO!!!! i love cats a lot, i had a bit of a SpIn in them as a kid (but since i was not allowed to have one, this took the form of buying an encyclopedia on cat breeds + cat care and reading it cover to cover multiple times). i also really like snakes (for sanders sides reasons and also for Gender Vibes reasons), rats (also for Gender Vibes reasons), dolphins (they are so smart and cool!!!!! and their like stereotypical "personality" matches me really well!!!! and my major has them as our mascot for some reason??? not my college, just my major. i don't think most majors have mascots, but i guess mine does lol. the head of the department addresses her emails to students as "hi pod!" like we are a pod of dolphins. i have a lil dolphin plushy from an event the department hosted. i liked dolphins before starting college, but this is a fun coincidence), and elephants (DID YOU KNOW ELEPHANTS HAVE MIDWIVES???? if an elephant is giving birth, there's a specific elephant in the herd whose job is to help out, and if the birthing elephant is separated from the midwife (like some zoos used to do 😬), the whole herd will freak out and try really hard to get the midwife to the birthing elephant!!!! also elephant pregnancies last almost 2 years!!!! can you tell i like elephants because of my SpIn in pregnancy + childbirth + midwifery lol)

what i like abt muren and li chen

i’m sorta burned out and my vagina is bleeding so lemme see if i can type this. probably can lmao. my brain is going ten miles a minute.

1. the fact that they were friends first.

 someone on here said this and idk who but i don’t want to seem like it was my idea. 

the fact that they are friends and didn’t have like a connection previously and it developed. most times friends-to-lovers has a basis of some sort of romantic interest from another person so they were not truly ever friends, you know? and many relationships people aren’t friends first but that’s the best kind. and they are the truest form in that (i wouldnt say truest means good but just i think a representation of) they were truly friends, no attraction at least consciously, and were lead into it. 

2. bc they know each other well and are friends they know each other and LAUGH and if you can’t laugh with your love then there is no point. 0. lmao. i love it

idk they fell easily in2 the luvy duvy part and u can actually believe they are into each other like outside of kissing. gee. also hello! when lichen like threw the heart in the office and muren caught it? bitch! i woulda been like ew!!!!! and blushed but muren was like that’s right that’s my bitch

3. bouncing off 2 um uhhhhh the way they interact so i guess this is 2 but whatver i like lists now

muren is >:O but super sweet and receptive to others. so he responds to people and it isn’t just stoic for stoic sake or with not much substance. idk how to say this but oftentimes sometimes i feel like characters will be too oppositional to offset their partner and it can be extremely annoying to watch because it’s part of the dynamic but sometimes there’s a lack of reciprocation. i like that even if muren is quiet he smiles a lot and lets people know through his actions and shit. esp his mans. and when he needs to talk, he will. 

lichen is perfect for this because of reasons. what do you even say about this dude holy shit. first of all he really is a fucking himbo. he’s not even dumb he’s just a fucking himbo. it’s great to say the way they express their excitement and the best thing to hear, “i can be myself around you”

4. u cannnot tell me that this top/bottom discourse is actually not ridiculous esp for them bc there is no way that my eyes are seeing what i see yet there’s some struggle when they’re trying to constantly grapple with the masculine/feminine aspects (this is a good thing)

with the way that they hang off each other. esp bc lichen is shorter than him and stockier and he can attach himself like a barnacle. the way he expresses glee and love is very “feminine” at times IE reliance, support, putting your head on his etc but then there are times when he is the one to hold muren too. so it’s like they are clearly on the same  level in how they exchange love and stuff and exploring the dynamics but it clearly isnt as structured as the usual ones and it shouldnt be so they should just stop talking about this shit cos ur both getting fucked god shut up

lichen squeals like a girl and is obsessed with him. he is clingy and also says “what do you want to do to me.” if this show is gonna sit us through the agony of this stupid discourse and they tell me they arent gonna sw*tch or whatever (not that they cant have other forms of sex bc that is not that difficultand as adults w eknow this but anywaaay) then they simply are wrong

5. the ~gay 4 u~ thing is dumb and i cannot believe it tbqh cos it’s like sir....but i am glad that lichen like expresses attraction to his physique and personhood as a man and acknowledging that that is something and a part of the attraction.

 it was probably a happy accident but it’s still a good one. there’s sometimes an idea of like sexual attraction being sorta nebulous when someone is like getting into a rship with the same gender but not being sure about their sexuality or whatever or still liking another gender explicitly where they cant admit they find things attractive or enticing even when they are in a same sex relationship and it is so fucking confusing and doesn’t make sense. i wish instead of trying to make it cut and dry they just went honestly mabye they dont know but theyre both men and thats a factor. ok lets move on now. :) 

6. they make u feel nice

especially in comparison to the show being messy and also there’s some crazy stalker man running around you know they temper that 

they’re just really fun to watch. it’s an interesting dynamic and particularly with xing si in their lives it’s nice and i’m so glad there’s no one else to ruin it like say a brother who is a waste of space. but it’s mostly good feelings for them and you can see why they like each other, that they can stay together, and how helpful a relationship can be as you grow as an individual

7. while i am sure there will be further misunderstandings...comm...unic...ation?

literally boys are dumb as hell but idk if my reading is correct on this one but SO FAR TO MOI im like wow u guys like actually talk. woah. and i think that’s nice. yest i had a breakdown in front of my fam bc i am sometimes emotionally stunted when faced with distress so it’s nice to see people talking that out in particularly with like jealousy and stuff

AND their interactions in public and the understanding. knowing it takes time and stuff for them to adjust and allowing them the time. they are extremely different to other people and they want to be distinct and they can be and arre to each other they dont need to follow anyone else’s rules (except the costume department sometimes needs to get better pants for muren like that’s my rule tbh but that’s neither here nor there)

oh one more thing idk the name of the actor playing li chen and im too tired to look it up but i like him a lot i think he does a good job of going seamlessly between like a jubilant person and an actual human being. he plays well at being oblivious but not outright stupid and emotionally stunted or not picking up certain signals. i think at times it seems like he doesn’t always have a sense of self  like trying to be something else for other people but then he realizes like he can’t do that so all he can do is be himself which leads him 2 his mans but yea. the actor does a decent job! it’s a fun character to wathc

1st of all if ur reading this thank you for taking out the time to listen i just want someone to talk to but i feel like i burned all my friends out already and i dont want to bother them more

so uh let me explain i started watching One Day at a Time great show i love it

and uh ***spoilers*** Elena comes out as gay

and ya know, it’s sweet and nice but like it still makes me sad?

like i kinda was forcefully dragged out of the closet

my sister found my tumblr, the old one, and read everything

including the fact that i said i was pansexual

and i was brought into my mom’s room with my sister and they were like  we know you think you’re this way but it’s wrong and you can’t be that way this is why you need to pray and be close to allah,  so you don’t think dumb things

and yya know they didn’t care about how i felt or ask me why, they just rejected it straight away (ajh gosh i started crying)

and ya know i never really care what they say, but theres also a part of me that wishes they could accept me

later on towards the end of 2017 i was stressed and scared about college and my future and my family were just like upsetting me and i was just sad about everything to the point that i didn’t want to leave my room cuz i was afraid i was gonna jump out the window or grab a knife and do something i regret

my friend diane, i thank her to death for doing this for me, i asked her to tell the school counselor because i needed help, and i needed it then

so she did, and they told my parents that i was considering suicide

you think they’d come home and be like honey its okay 

but no it was that whole interrogation situation again

they sat me in their room and said i was making their lives harder

they actually thought i was faking to manipulate them, like a guilt trip, great right?

so i was just sitting there, crying, i couldn’t speak or anything, and i had to go write down everything i was feeling

some stuff was about college other stuff was about sexual and gender identity

and the school also told them i needed hospital clearance to go back to school

and they begrudgingly took me to a psychiatrist first, which wasnt helpful at all because they took us to someone we knew who was a pakistani muslim man and im like ???? i cant talk to him comfortably??

so that was already a bust

and then we went to the hospital ER, they took my blood, kept the needle in my arm the entire like 6 hours we were there

and this crisis specialist talked to me and translated for my parents

and now my dad knows too

like my dad is more strict than my mom

and he isn’t very subtle

he was reading quraan and told me that homosexuals got stones rained on them

fun, thanks for that dad

and its still an on going problem

but what scares me is

like i just wish that a shred of hope is in them, that i might have a chance, but here i am crying in front of all of them and they dont even notice

ive always had to pick and choose my battles with them, but this is one that’s going to keep going, and neither side is giving up

im slowly deteriorating tho i want to be strong and be like fuck you i like girls and boys and everyone in between and i dont care what you have to say god can decide what he does with me, so stay out of it

but i cant do that

im far too submissive what am i gonna do? if i fuck up i either get beat or everything taken away from me so far the plan “just deal with it until you can get out” is starting to fail 

like my options are

1) throw away college, leave, be whoever the fuck you want, get a job somewhere and live off of instant ramen

2) do what they say and after you get your degree be like ha fuck you im out (thats an extra 4 years in this hell of a house tho)

3) try and talk to them? (and probably fail so whats the point?)

idk what to do anymore im just sad and scared of what is going to happen i dont want to lose things and people that are important to me
