sorry im late answering this! had a busy couple days!

so again, this one rly depends on the drug. uppers often make u talk faster, though all the classics for drugging scenes usually make Everything slower. for this post ill assume its not an upper ur character is on!

imo the biggest thing is trouble following the conversation. words can be hard to process in a severely impaired state of mind! if theyre responsive, expect a lot of "what?"/"huh?" & similar phrases.

it may take them longer to formulate a response. just like processing others' speech is difficult in an impaired state, so is putting words together urself. they may sit there a while, & it may seem as if they arent going to reply at all before they finally do manage a response.

their replies may not make sense for the current conversation. trouble keeping up with conversation + delayed response time = not always responding appropriately. & of course, depending on the drug, some also cause hallucinations and the drugged character may respond to or reference the hallucinations theyre currently experiencing.

they may get mad at other characters easily during conversation. its very frustrating when everything u say makes sense to u but no one else understands. ur character may get irritated by everyones lack of understanding. what theyre saying may not make sense to other characters, but it makes sense to them, & they may not see where the disconnect is happening.

speaking of disconnect, they may not be able to say what they mean. when certain areas of the brain are impaired, speech becomes rather jumbled. they may want to say one word, but their brain supplies them (consistently) with a completely different one. theyll think they said the correct word, but what everyone else hears ie pretty much word salad.

& of course, they may not be able to reply at all! obviously, u arent asking after any kind of drug that puts someone out completely, but even drugs that dont knock u out can make talking pretty much impossible. ive been so high i cant talk before, & thats on a fairly safe dosage of drugs i intended to take. it just happens sometimes!

i have a question feel free not to answer but i promise it's not in bad faith. i agree with u with just about everything in dragon age and respect your opinions, but ive been an aveline hater for sooo long. i see your points about the misogyny which i think is the number one #anti aveline thing people point out, but i was wondering your takes on some of the others, like her guard favoritism, rejecting carver from the guard despite his job insecurity and not throwing out the records of fenris squatting in hightown? do you think it's like, a control thing? i admit ive been in a bit of an echo chamber and never heard someone talk about that that wasnt coming from already hating aveline. i can appreciate a morally grey character for sure, but i think her "my hands are tied" centrism always irked me more than isabela and varric's more carefree and charismatic outlooks

i get it LOL fandom has a tendency of influencing personal bias to an extreme and it's hard to see past the echo chambers. i think this is what causes characters like sebastian or sera to get such extreme levels of hate despite people very rarely actually interacting with them in game or making an effort to understand their perspectives. i don't think disliking aveline is bad, but i do think the disproportionate hate she receives compared to the other companions is like. silly. They're All Bad People.

so bioware writes women, ESPECIALLY women who don't conform to stereotypically feminine traits and roles (read: female warriors) very poorly, and i think that's really important to keep in mind in meta discussions because it does absolutely play a key role in how "palatable" they are. a lot of aveline's personality is directly informed by this odd insistence on making her a big scary unattractive Mannish brute, because the writers have no concept of femininity outside of soft and gentle and sexy. and i say this because this plays a huge role in her characterization as a big authority figure who Does Not Take Your Shit. it's one of those things that makes meta analysis very difficult because i feel like there isn't a single part of her character design or writing that wasn't affected by it (for both good and bad) and people tend to take it for granted.

like, we Know anders' characterization as the creepy possessive borderline-stalker guy is directly informed by jennifer hepler's bias against bipolar disorder. it absolutely works as a character trait and it IS an important part of him, but it's still important to acknowledge just how Caricaturized the whole thing is and how much of that is narratively purposeful and how much of that is hepler's own lack of empathy for the disorder. that's the way i see aveline's writing. bioware thinks "masculine" women are abrasive and unattractive, therefore they give aveline the most severe personality in the whole game. because that's just what women like that Are Like, according to bioware.

but you know like. from a watsonian perspective i think that just speaks more to her insecurity than it does to her as a person in the story. i talked about it before, but a big aspect of aveline's character is how she's been constantly at the mercy of people who were meant to be her leaders, people she was expected to follow without question, only for those people to misuse or even outright abuse their power. loghain abandoning everyone at ostagar cost her her home, her husband, her friends, everything she ever had. she comes to kirkwall with this newfound sense of "i will never let that happen again," which makes her very protective and overbearing. we can tell by her attitude with hawke and the other guards that she considers all of her people her Family and she refuses to compromise their safety for anything. they trust her, they rely on her. she won't be another loghain or another jevan.

it's not by any means a positive trait. it's both her greatest strength and her greatest flaw. she cares too much about the people she's responsible for and happily sacrifices the good of everyone else in favor of her own comfort without even realizing. and who does that remind you of?

our own protagonist is among the most important and powerful people in the game, and the whole narrative is essentially built on hawke bending and breaking every law they possibly can to keep their own family as comfortable and safe as possible, even at the cost of others. she's hawke's parallel. she forces the player to reflect on how easy it is to say you're a good person and you want to help everyone when you have the means and the power to actually make a change, but how quickly that self-assurance goes out the window the second you actually have to make the tough calls. it takes hawke 9 literal years to even Feebly voice their public support between the mages and templars, and they spend the entire game flip flopping between working for one's interests and then the other's because of that refusal to actually take a stance and commit to their morals. you can headcanon your hawke as the Radical Revolutionary but that isn't the character we see in game. we see the person who's too afraid of confrontation and losing the fragile stability they've built for themselves to actually stand up for what's right until their hand is forced. that's the position aveline is in.

this is one of those things where i keep saying people should rival characters more. all those traits you hate in aveline are the ones that become challenged through hawke's constant rejection of her authority, and what makes the rivalry routes so fascinating is how they give you a unique insight as to Why your companions are the way that they are. all these things i've mentioned aren't just excuses for why she's like this. it's all in her rivalry route! she's terrified, insecure, she has no idea what she's doing, she feels completely alone in a city where she has to constantly prove herself, and this causes her to overcompensate in the only avenue where she actually has a modicum of control.

as for the stuff with carver and fenris. i think people tend to look at those with very narrow lenses and fail to see them within their context. like, the stuff with carver is pretty easy. that isn't even an issue of favoritism or corruption, it's a matter of "the guy who i know for a fact is a hotheaded kid with authority problems only wants to be a guard to feel important and i'm not putting someone like that in a position of power." you can disagree with that assessment, but she didn't just reject carver out of nowhere, she knows him well and is well aware of the fact that he has a massive inferiority complex. like, i think it's silly that carver is seen as this innocent victim in that situation for being turned down as guard, when most of the time these same people who condemn her for it also hate her specifically because she's a guard LOL. if you dislike how aveline handles her authority, how do you think CARVER would handle it? his templar path to me seems like proof enough that he only sees these positions as avenues for validation and isn't actually fully prepared for what these positions actually Entail

and for fenris. people misunderstood that banter i think LOL. first of all, people mix up her banter about fenris squatting with banter about formal complaints about him. it was the latter she didn't throw out, and this is only after you finish her quest where you help her expose the previous captain's corruption. she's the guard captain. the complaints go to no one else but her. all she's doing is proving that she isn't going to be the next jevan. plus, i think this gets overinflated a lot LOL her and fenris are like two of the most amicable party members. she changes patrols around his mansion to give him some peace of mind, she warns him when he's drawing too much attention to himself. i don't think it's a fair assessment at aaaall to say aveline is somehow neglecting or endangering fenris, because it's literally the exact opposite. she protects all of her friends, even the Fucking Abomination Who Does Nothing But Antagonize Her LOL

this got long. erm. teehee. it's not a big deal if you don't like aveline LOL i mean we all have our favorites and least favorites and it's not like i expect everyone to love her. i just feel like these opinions Are sometimes worthy of reflection. do you give the other companions the same scrutiny? are you really judging her on her own merit or are you judging her on the purity test we tend to subconsciously apply to female characters in general, even if it's a subconscious thing? like i could try to name the amount of male characters in dragon age that share the same flaws as her and it would end up an even bigger post than this LOL. do you like gorim? duncan? sten? what makes aveline so much less sympathetic than them? that's all. and if it does turn out to just be a taste thing then i obviously can't brainwash you into loving a character LOL

Every now and then I find an artwork that I just can't help but adore. I absolutely adore your Chara drawing. I'm also an artist myself, though I'm unsure how to draw the stuff that I actually like. Do you perhaps have any tips or advice, some resources I could take a look at...? I mean it's fine if you don't, I know not everyone is able to always explain their artistic process, but I still have to ask, heh.

thank you so much!!! im really glad you liked that drawing. and its no trouble at all, artists should try to help each other out ehehe. you're right that it might be difficult to explain my resources, but maybe since you specifically asked abt the chara one i can explain the process.

this piece i drew it like its most traditional to, the last pieces (the p5 ones and kris) were all sketched out and rendered heavily using lasso fill. this time i just started sketching some charas to take a break from another drawing.. as u can see i had two doodles originally but i felt like i wanted the viewers eye to travel through more focal points, so i started rearranging the composition. i wanted a mix of cuteness with underlying intensity/terror, so i already knew the geno chara would be a bit more "faded out". thats all i did for composition.

now in terms of the actual drawing and coloring process, i always do a mix of lineart and lineless (for this both the lineart and coloring layer are at some point merged so i can "sculpt" and shape the forms and colors easier). this is a lot of trial and error to see what parts really do require lines and make it more eyecatching, especially if you are strategic with the line weight. with lineart you run into the possibility of making a drawing more detailed than you had envisioned, lately ive been trying to go for "less is more", so i forewent a lot of the details and instead i REALLY focused on making these doodles as "shaped" as possible, for better examples of this id cite my previous two drawings because the lasso tool lets me explore that more (less constrictive than simply drawing the shapes yourself).

and the colors? with chara its easy, they have a very restrictive palette so after i lay down the colors i try and find a color for the lines which plays off of said colors (blue seemed interesting this time). thats also a thing with me, i like when the color contrast isnt subtle, i go a bit crazier sometimes (feel free to check my older art out on insta, those deltarune ones are the best example of this). to explore color in a piece, layer effects are your best friend, and tonal/color editing settings. i cited this example on an insta story some weeks ago for my last drawing with how i left it originally and what i modified once i came back after a bit:

the decisions you make in regards to what focal points and colors you use genuinely and solely depends on your artstyle and what you like to draw. but experimenting is always fun, and id say necessary :]

After two arduous weeks (Aug 1st - Aug 15th) the Sun cold porcelain figure is COMPLETE! DONE! FINISHED! HE IS HERE IN ALL HIS GLORY

Its been a long (and at times painful) process considering the time it took for all the stuff to dry and for me to have free time to finish this project, but now the silly little jester is in my hands and he looks SO CUTE AND COOL!! HE EVEN HAS A HOOK

Yes, you can use colored cold porcelain instead of painting it! It's just easier for me to paint it over

- For the love of god, be careful when applying the varnish, that shit is bad for your health! read the instructions, do it in a ventilated area, and NEVER put it too close to your face, or u might get some not so good side effects ( like yer eyes burning)

- If u dont wanna spend too much money on the colors u can just buy some Yellow, Cyan, Magenta, Black and White (CMYK) along with some skin tones; u can basically make any color from those

-At first, you had 0 idea what to expect. Your boyfriend got sent a letter inviting them to a mysterious manor and he had to go alone. You were worried for him, considering the events of his past, but you let him on his way.

-It only took a few weeks for you to recieve a letter similar to what Norton recieved — from the same manor. It mostly contained that you are invited to the manor for reasons the writer rather not disclose trough a letter.

-Considering this was the same letter that made Norton leave, you immedieatly grabbed your suitcase and started to pack a few clothing items you deemed fit.

-The ride towards the manner was long —making you nervous by every second that passed. Would you see Norton again? Did something happen to him? What is it that this mysterious person wanted to talk with you about? Aswell as with a few others who would be present?

-When you finally arrived infront of the manor, you took a deep breath. Not too sure if you were ready to hear or see what was going on inside said manor. You walked up to the door and knocked, waiting for a few seconds (Which felt like hours in your point of view) and the door opened.

-A butler opened the door. Not saying anything aside your name as a question. Wanting to confirm it was actually you.

-You nod and give the old-looking man your invite, to which he nodded and let you inside. A maid bowing infront of you slightly as a greeting, before saying that she'll be your guide, and that you were free to ask questions whenever you wanted.

-You felt like you wanted to burst into words, you had so many questions. But anxiety has sewn your mouth shut, unable to mutter a single word besides an affirmation to the maid and following her to your temporary residence.

-The tour tooj atleast 1,5 hours in your opinion. The whole manor was... giant, in your words. You asked questions here and there to the maid, to which she either responded... or not. Which made your gut feel weird, but you shrugged it off.

-You already met a few people already. Like Mr. Kreiburg...But you wouldn't actually call it a meeting. As you reached out your hand and tried to introduce yourself, he only picked up his cane and moved your hand away from him before walking past you, his face only being... sour. Quite the asshole, you thought.

-Ms. Plinius, the entomologist you saw outside the small garden of the manor. For being such a big house, the garden was for sure small to your standards. But Ms. Plinius atleast didn't... shrug you off first chance she got. She simply introduced her and went back to examining... or atleast that's what you thought she was doing with the bees.

-You also met Orpheus. He was nice. He actually conversed with you for a bit. You found out that he was a writer of some kind, and that he's mostly at the manor because of this.

-You also met Ms. DeRoss. Or how she preferred — Alice. She was also nice. She conversed with you for a bit aswell. She was a journalist, that's what you found out about her.

-As you continued to walk around the manor, trying to see if there was anyone else, you had no luck. When you peeked inside the last room and you didn’t see anyone, you sighed.

-Wasn't Norton invited here? Why isn't he here then? You were confused. And mostly scared for your lover.

-You decided to shrug it off. You were already tired from all that travelling you did during the day, the meetings —Good or bad—, the tour.

-You ate dinner with the invited people who... participated in the dinner, because Mr. Kreiburg... was missing. As it seemed like it was a common occurance for him to not attend, he usually asked his food to be brough to his room appearently.

-After you were done, you said your good night's to everyone and went to your room. Your luggage being next to the small space next to the bed, as you picked it up and placed it on the table, rummaging trough it for your nightly wear.

-When you found it, you tried to change as quickly as possible to be able to get more rest that your body and consciousness craved at this point.

-Tomorrow morning, you were woken up by a sharp knock on your door. The person on the other side for sure knew how to wake someone up... You called out a 'come in' in a sleepy tone stretching as your body popped here and there from the movement.

-The butler from before came in. He informed you that breakfast would be starting soon, and that you should probably gather yourself together for the day. You yawned and nodded in response. The butler soon walked out when he saw your nod — giving you your privacy.

-You stood up, going to the bathroom to wash your face. After that, you went to your luggage still on the table, opened, and picked out your next outfit for the day.

-You opened the door and walked out, closing it behind you as you saw someone with black hair and a... hat of some kind walk down the stairs? It was... a green or grey. You couldn't really tell from how fast they rushed down the stairs.

-You shrugged it off, walking downstairs in your own pace and walking to the dining table.

-When you arrived, you looked around. Alice, Ms. Plinius, Orpheus... and Norton?

-So he was actually here! Your heart felt like it could burst open from happiness any second now. You wanted to scream in happiness, but no. You couldn't. You were with people who were technically still strangers.

-Norton did notice and recognize you too. His reaction simply being his eyes widening than narrowing to his usual look. He always had a better poker face than you — that you both knew.

-But for some reason, there was no space set in the table next to Norton... So you simply put your fingers on the satin that was under the plate, and pulled it infront of the chair next to Norton, sitting down beside him.

-You took your food and while you did, everyone besides Norton stared at you weirdly for a bit. Why did you... sit next to Norton? They barely managed to get his name out of him (which was actually given by the butler) but you sit next to him? The most anti-social person besides Kreiburg?

-They were confused to say the least. But... hey. You do you. They guess.

-While everyone was eating, talking, Alice noticed that Norton was... actually talking to you? Sure, she couldn't hear what you two were conversing about, but Norton was definitely going on and on about something.

-Did you two know eachother? Probably. No. Most definitely. Norton hasn't spoken a single word to anyone, yet he is actively talking to you. You two definitely knew eachother from somewhere.

-Alice looked over to Orpheus as he was talking to Ms. Plinius, slightly nudging him with her elbow and she signalled to the pair of you with her eyes.

-Orpheus kept talking to Ms. Plinius, making an act of as if they weren't watching the two of you, while he glanced at the both of you from time to time. Nobody could tell, but Ms. Plinius took the hint aswell and noticed the same thing as Orpheus and Alice.

-It was as if the two of you were friendly with eachother. Maybe even more.

-But they couldn't do much at the moment... they might ask you two... or more specifically you of your relationship with him later.

so i'm writing some fanfic where the characters get into a plane crash and have to survive on their own with limited medical supplies/knowledge (the characters are age 12-15 but some of them have first aid knowledge to an extent) and i have some Questions (if u don't mind me asking)

(before i start this is SHAMELESSLY inspired by the greys anatomy season 8 finale where the plane crashes)

can you use fire to cauterise open wounds to stop bleeding? or would that just bring further complications?

can you use safety pins as makeshift staples (if you loop them so the skin shuts properly)

the only character who knows how to properly suture needs sutures to stop bleeding out, is it realistic for him to instruct the two other least injured people to suture him up (he can't use his hands) without blacking out from pain?

injuries the characters have: (what is the treatment protocol for each of these?)

one character gets her leg broken with bone exposed (eventually it has to be amputated)

one dislocates his shoulder

one person's hand gets stuck in the debris

someone gets debris in her stomach

one person just has superficial wounds

one character gets debris stuck in her leg

they all have heavy bruising and scrapes as well but those are treatable

things the characters do know how to do:

tie a makeshift tourniquet (advice: do not practise tying tourniquets on yourself because it's quite painful)

suture (one person)

insert a needle into someone's veins (same person)

apply compression bandages to stop bleeding

other super basic stuff (apply plasters, tie an arm sling, etc)

the very basics of cauterising a wound

supplies they have:

tranquiliser guns (limited, and the tranq guns are suited to taking down dinosaurs but they work on humans too)

aight first off cauterisation is indeed used to stop severe bleeding *when all other means have been used* and an open flame is definately not the way to go for tha (burns can be extremely dangerous and a. cause fluid loss and b. increase the risk for nasty infections that can lead to sepsis and death)

instead id suggest heating up metal (like a scrap from the aircraft or sum) via the fire and then applying it to the wound :3

assuming u mean the surgical staples: yes and no? lol obv since this is an emergency there is little space to be picky abt equipment, so honestly safety pins would work ig but i think theyd keep coming loose (oh the agony)

i messed around with one of mine just now and the line that locks into the head (?) is pretty straight so i kinda doubt itll be able to like close flesh the way one imagines it to but its literally fiction lol we can suspend our belief far more than this. as long as its closed properly go for it lmao i give u my blessing XD

btw in case of an amputation or extremely severe bleeding id recommend using a tourniquet (lots of tutorials online!) to compress the artery and minimise the bleeding :D (ooh maybe u can use the cautery thing here too)

OMG I READ THE FUTURE AHA (my condolences) okay so the amputation will be at the knee level (which afaik is the hardest kind of amputation to perform joint wise lmao. good luck with that) presumably. theyll need a tourniquette as mentioned above, very sharp knife or something to hack away at the flesh and tendons (very tough) and ligaments around the knee socket (even tougher i think). and lots of bandages for the stump

now had they recieived the needed medical attention i doubt theyd need to go up to the knee (there are shin level amputations) but since theyre kids and all alone with no guide or anything idk if theyll be able to save the lower leg bones or even cut though them if they could (i doubt med supplies include saws lol) so yeah thats my reasoning at least.

dislocation is a relatively easy fix (compared to everyhting else lol) but it depends on where the humerus (arm bone) is:

based on which kind of dislocation the direction of pull is determined, but again relatively simple no blood no mess

there are a few maneuvers/ techniques u might want to look up like hippocratic and spaso/ reverse stimson (both for anterior btw)

a hand getting stuck i assume means impaled? oof thats going to hurt. well broken hand bones are pretty rough to deal with in the wild, since all bones need proper realignment to avoid further pain and complications when the body heals itself (did u know that if a fracture heals wrong they have to break it and reset it? yeah.) so im not sure honestly ig it depends on what u have in mind for them

again not too sure what stomach means exactly; are her guts poking out? just bleeding from scratches? depends on what ur going for!! lmk btw and feel free to send more asks ill look up and find what we need to know :D

superficial wounds need cleaning and patching up, sometimes if theres like unclean areas of said wounds they need to be scraped off (debridement) esp if theres like scraps or dirt or anything on the wound. what fun!

again for the cautery i think an open flame would heat up the knife much faster than a match lol (also they need to be preserved. also also they wouldnt last long enough i think)

how would cameron realise she’s a lesbian?

ive been thinking a lot about this, and it’s been hard to pinpoint exactly what would happen with the knowledge of her character we have.

but i have collected together an idea of a way i think it would play out, this is from my perspective and opinion of cameron so not everyone may agree!! but if u have any ideas to add feel free :) <3

first of all, Cameron is a character who is very much adamant and set on what she wants for her life, she plans out her life in her head and it often isn’t as easy as what she thought it would be like. because of this, i don’t think realising she’s a lesbian is something she would figure out on her own - or if it is, she would repress it far beneath her to a place she would hope to never see again.

i feel as though she would become overly “jealous” of another woman (thirteen or cuddy perchance?!??), and maybe even to the point of despising her. she wouldn’t realise the difference between jealousy and attraction, unless she spoke to someone else about it.

I’m trying to stick to as canon as possible so i think she would either speak to wilson, chase or house about it.

wilson wouldn’t be any help - he’s struggling with his own comphet.

chase may be slightly suspicious as to where this overwhelming hatred has come from, but he probably won’t bring it up.

house would probably be the most helpful in the sense that he would say something like “maybe ur in love with her” and it would never leave her subconscious.

after this would be a waiting game, house has implanted the idea into her head and its just a question of how long does it take for it to click. i feel like if the other woman maybe made a move on her, it would speed things up and give her the identity crisis a bit earlier, but ultimately its up to her acceptance of herself.

now i wanna talk about her reaction to this all clicking into her head.

first, she would use anything as evidence as to why it isn’t true. she would try to prove to her mind that she liked men by bringing up every relationship she’d been in - at this point she would realise how little she’d actually wanted to be with them long term.

next, and were getting angsty now, she would probably get quite upset over her own failure to realise a huge part of her identity. I’m guessing she would probably hate herself for a little bit, or hate the world around her for not telling her something so huge. but overall probably a period of sadness and hatred towards her own life.

I’m hoping for a happy ending for cameron so i think after this the other woman asks her out and she begins to realise that being lesbian isn’t so bad and starts to understand what love truly is.

it may be a bit messy at first but i think cameron will eventually accept who she is and will start to wonder why she ever thought differently.

“What happened?” He rarely pries, but he always gives you the option to share your thoughts with him, if you choose to. And now, is no different.

Settling beside you, Zeus then assumes his own position, climbing up onto the couch and attempting to snuggle himself between you both, as if he’s a lapdog, offering his own presence as a source of comfort.

“You don’t have to talk about it if you don’t want to,” he assures you, but you’re not sure if you do. What you want and need is just comfort, to not feel as small and belittled as your parents made you feel earlier tonight. But soon, everything comes tumbling out—what happened, the things they said, the way they cut you deep. Even as your voice cracks, his patience remains, and his arm that’s slid around your shoulders wraps tighter, squeezing you closer now that Zeus has shifted from between you both, wanting his own space.

Matt doesn’t say anything, and he doesn’t need to. Even though his words have a magical way of enveloping you in a comforting embrace, you can’t fathom there is any for what he’s just heard.

You can’t look at him because if you do, the tears you’re holding back might burst through the dam restraining them. Instead, you avoid his gaze, but your weight shifts, and you lean into him, finding solace in his presence. He remains silent, and you debate on apologizing for unexpectedly dumping all of this on him.

You remain silent, and when you feel the press of his lips against your crown, the tension begins to ease and you can’t help but wonder if he somehow sensed your thoughts. You often find yourself pondering this. At times, it feels as if he’s in your head, as if he knows your thoughts and you’ve never experienced such a profound connection with anyone else in your life.

The gentle kiss on your head is another comforting gesture that makes you cling to him even tighter, unwilling to let him go. You turn just enough to wrap your arms around him, and his presence instantly calms the anxious shivers that have been trembling through your body. Your heart rate slows down, and you finally feel yourself breathe. A breath you had been previously holding in, now released.

You hold onto him for a few seconds, then a few minutes, and you’re not sure how long it goes on, but for once, the silence doesn’t fill you with dread; not when he’s here.

When the moment of pressing tears threatening to fall has passed enough for you to trust yourself, you finally gather the courage to look at him. As your eyes meet his gentle brown hues, you break the silence, your voice slightly choked as you ask, “Can I stay here with you, please?”

It’s a question that doesn’t really need to be asked, because Matt opens his home and arms to you without any hesitation, and yet, when you do ask, the answer remains the same as always: “Stay as long as you need.”

jaemin trudged into university that day. he had never been so eager to get out of his classes and essentially look for you during his frees. it did not do him any justice to be running back and forth the arts department and the sciences campus .

eventually jaemin gave up on the idea of trying to spot you . he had been trying to be a sport to make sure chenle still gets to know you but he essentially called first dibs right ? so now he is trying to ‘organically’ spot you.

he has now decided to ditch his lectures for the remainder of the day, because who cares about composition ? he takes a seat by the entrance to potentially increase his chances of seeing you.

jaemin had never felt this longing for someone, especially someone who he has never really spoken too much. maybe it was curiosity or a deep need to clarify that he is most definitely not into dudes.

as he ponders ways to approach you in the event that he does see you, he feels a tap on his shoulder. he turns to see yunjin smiling with a tray of food.

‘can i sit here?’ jaemin gives her a nod as she sets her tray of food opposite him. ‘how come you’re not in the arts department right now?’ she continues to ask as she mixes her bowl of bibimbap.

‘i was tryna spot some of my friends, but i haven’t seen any of them.’ jaemin sighs as yunjin chews her food. ‘isn’t hyuck in your class?’ he is now the one asking questions.

so, ive been questioning my gender lately. i think im somewhere around enby/transmasc (as an afab), but i still feel aligned with feminine pronouns and terms. i think an androgynous body is my main goal (definitely gonna un-boob at some point), but i don't really see myself as a man? or masculine? i might just be nonbinary lol, but transmasc just "clicks" with me more, in a way. i just don't wanna say im transmasc if that's not really what i am

i think i just want a more masc/androgynous body, without really doing much about the word stuff (pronouns and all that). do you have any input? it could be anything really, even just a quick sentence. or you could just ignore it lol

all of that sounds okay to me! transmasc can mean a lot of things. you can also be non binary without being transmasc! you can be transneutral, or transandrogynous! fortunately there are a lot more options than just transmasc when it comes to being trans! you can be androgynous and like feminine pronouns and terms, you don't have to change anything if you don't want to. transneutrality and transandrogyny might be worth looking into!

hiii ofc!! dw you are not alone ik a lot of people who are intimidated by it and i used to be myself so you are def not the only one feeling like this!!

i think the biggest things to keep in mind is that everyone is there for the same reason as you, and they are far too concerned with themselves to pay attention to what you’re doing!! at least for me i always assume people know what they’re doing 100% of the time T_T no one can tell you’re a beginner or that you don’t know what you’re doing!! or even if they can they will either mind their business or be very kind about it 🙂‍↕️ a couple of times i’ve had gym bros come up and help me fix my form but they’re always very respectful and just looking out for others!! ik it can be intimidating to see someone with biceps bigger than your head walking around but they weren’t born like that and oftentimes know better than anyone how much work it takes so they actually are in my experience some of the most supportive people in the entire gym ☝🏻 on the whole though as long as you walk around like you know what you’re doing (fake it until you make it!!) i promise no one will call your bluff or even realizing you’re bluffing at all

in terms of actually working out — consistency is always always ALWAYS better than quantity. over exerting yourself and coming to hate exercising and possibly even injuring yourself helps no one!! there’s a ton of programs and stuff out there but you aren’t married to any single one, just do what you like especially at first 🙏🏻 as you get more comfortable you will be able to broaden your horizons but if at first all you want to do is walk on the treadmill for twenty minutes then that’s great!! that’s still twenty minutes more than you would’ve done otherwise and it adds up. also like i was joking about having to lift sm lighter but truly there is nothing wrong with not lifting heavy weights (for most of my exercises i actually prefer lifting lighter and doing more reps because i work out mostly for improvement in my riding/general health so i need the endurance more than the strength!!) although it’s good to push yourself a little bit, do what you feel comfortable with/enjoy and don’t let people online tell you that you HAVE to do this that and the other thing T_T again some exercise is better than none and it’s better long term if you find something you can stick with versus what you think you SHOULD be doing

Sooo Inspiration huh. Very interesting topic for me because i am. Very much shaped by the art and media I like / consume. And yet i dont feel like much of it shows up in my own art style really. I am not sure why, probably because i never fully. Studied art tbh. Went to art school in free time ever since i was a 1st grader but i still feel like i skipped some major steps in actual art teachings. Color theory is my enemy.

But as direct inspirations I would say I have wayy to many to count.

Signalis (unsuprisingly) has been a literal life changing experience and I am putting down here because i cannot fully express how much it fuels me and my artistic aspirations ever since i played it. I truly wish to make a story on signalises level that can impact others.

As a second biggest inspo , i have to go with my long term soft spot that i have for the Dishonored series , specificly the art of Dishonored 2 will never leave my soul. There were multiple incredible artists working on the design team but the general feel and dedication they put into this world is smth i wish to do similiarly. Arkanes general philosophy aligns with mine.

For final big game i suppose ill put Ultrakill. I dont know what it is specificly about it that makes me so. At awe of it but it scratches my brain in similair way signalis did with its low poly style and striking colors and solid designs.

For artists god uh theres to many fjfhshdhg my own art changes style everydamn week i feel like but at least for people that impact me lately . @mrzuddie(sorry for the tag)s style has personaly spoken to me on a lot of levels , dont know why specificly but it scratches my brain so well . I always admired the more. Chaotic artstyles ? Sketchy , or rough looking pieces speak to me more than smth hyper realistic or shaded. Thats why i like pixelated stuff too. Remarins speedpaints on youtube were big part of my teen years i would say and they shaped me into being a digital artist mainly. Shiwasu Hoshikawa's Bungo Stray Dogs art also falls under the scratchy wild art category i love and wish i could replicate more .

I cant really think of any movie funikly enough that shaped me artisticly much. I like Top Gun Maverick but thats cause im a pilot and have a history with it fjfhfj. 9 film from 2009 was striking though that might have been subconciously affecting me. Also as most i think Into the spideverse and any recent well animated movie can fall in this category.

if anyone is confused they all work for the same merc company im just stuck on what the company name should be 😭 (im thinking of naming it something really simple and on the nose like “merc folks” or something. i might name it something different tho. idk) also another note: sometimes eddie tags along on missions as well!! not all the time but he’ll go when he’s needed :^)

ive been planning like. a comic thing with them. and for said comic thing i designed 3 side characters and a planet for it to take place on!!

(lmk if u guys have a fav out of these 3 btw!! my personal fav to design was spoog. they were all fun to draw overall tho. also that fish in the second pic was super fun to paint!!)

for those interested: the basic story of the comic would be like. so that ham guy (pictured and labeled above) hires viv and scorch’s merc company (eddie would also be here in this hypothetical comic) for like 900K pixels because he goes to this mostly-water-planet to catch a highly sought after and rare fish, but it’s recommended that to catch it you have at least like. 5 people at the BARE minimum, and he only has two other people already. (i also had the idea of shrike and beebs being there too?? sorta like. you hired two merc companies?? is that allowed??? or something. but they still do it bc a) ham goes like “well the more the merrier!” or something because to catch this fish? it really is, and b) its for 900K for both companies. how? the fish would end up being around 2.7 million so it just gets split up among the 3 parties involved 👍)
