omggg hope you had a great birthday!! do u mind writing a remus x reader who realize there’s smth more than friends between them, thank youuu
🐥🐥🐥🐥🐥
remus lupin x reader
a/n: gn!reader truly idk how this escaped me. me writing for my long lost husband in the year of our lord 2024?? this was so fun it felt like reuniting with an ex anyways fluff incoming
wc: don't... look at me... 1.3k
“So?”
“So what, Prongs?” Remus huffs, flipping through a textbook. Merlin knows why he even tries to study in the common room with the boys when all they do is badger him about nonsense.
“So are you and your little friend, well…more than friends? You two are attached at the hip, so where’d the little one run off to?” James teases, whacking his best mate with a throw pillow, “Get tired of you moaning and groaning about prefect duties?”
Well, that’s…you’re definitely not nonsense.
Remus blinks, brushing his hair away from his face and glaring at James before elbowing him straight in the gut. Tosser he is, acting like he knows anything about you or relationships in general when he’s been pining after Lily for years now.
You two are just friends.
Sirius lets out a loud laugh from his place at Remus’ feet. He’s leaning against the arm of the sofa, looking up at the sandy-haired boy with a cock-eyed grin, “If they were more than friends, Moony’s moaning and groaning would be appreciated and reciprocated, don’t you think?”
Peter snickers from the loveseat across the table. It doesn’t help with Remus’ mood, so he buries his head deeper into the boring History of Magic text, grumbling, “Don’t be crass. Just friends, is all. Don’t look too hard into it or you’ll melt what’s left of your brains.”
The three instigators look at each other, before looking back at their best friend. Just friends, he says. Sure, Remus’s the nicest guy around—a prefect even; the one that people count on to be the most morally sound out of all of them, the guy that people borrow notes from, politely laughs at jokes and makes people feel included in conversations. Sure, friends—they can believe that! Everyone wants to be Moony’s friend. But it’s the way they’ve seen him treat you that stands out.
Remus usually lags behind them now, breaking apart their formation in the halls (and yes, Sirius likes to be at the front of the diamond), pushing Peter up so he can wait for you after class. Also, anyone that could distract him from taking notes in Arithmancy is surely a force to be reckoned with (and a threat to Peter’s grades). He’s even gone as far as sidling up next to you during Potions and breaking their age-old rotation of picking partners since their first year (which left James with a botched Aging Potion, and Lily laughing at him as he limped out of class with graying hair and a hunchback).
So things were different nowadays, but one thing is for sure: Remus Lupin’s favorite game is being in denial.
“Maybe your friend knows about your furry little problem, Moons. Surely you really don’t think you’re gonna get any studying done with us?” James chuckles, before pushing his glasses up to clearly see the blush blossoming on Remus’s cheeks. Though it might also be anger, he couldn’t really tell—they’ve never seen him like this, ever; so blatantly obvious with how he feels about you even though he’d never admit it. It was quite refreshing to remember that Remus is still a normal teenage boy.
“You’re right, Prongs,” he huffs.
“I am?”
“I don’t know why I even bothered to try and study with you lot if all of you are too focused on me instead of studying!” Remus is shoving his books into his knapsack as the boys continue to rib at him to get him to stay. This essay isn’t going to write itself.
“Just playing, Moons!”
“Yeah mate, if you need an actual study date we know that’s not us, just hang around!”
Remus sighs as he’s looking at his friends' shit-eating grins as they go around him showing each other the map and pointing at something.
“What now?”
There’s a knock at the portrait, and the Fat Lady’s shrill voice could be heard from where they were sitting. Peter jumps up, sticking his face over the enchanted parchment as he giggles a bit like a schoolgirl, “It’s for you. Your friend’s outside.” They all cheer and laugh at Remus shaking his head, slinging his knapsack over his shoulder walking quickly away from them.
When he sees you chatting with the Fat Lady, it’s almost as if he’s in a stupor, studying every inch of your face until your eyes finally meet his and you grin and wave at him.
Just friends, he reminds himself.
“Hey Rem! Was gonna ask if you wanted to go to the library together?”
Your voice is a treat in itself, he thinks—the lilt and manner of it so sweet and rich it almost reminds him of his favorite chocolate.
Good thing he has a sweet tooth.
Walking down the hallway together your hand bumps into his several times in passing, fingers ghosting against each other as if they were dancing, too close and then too far. Friends can hold hands right? Remus’s heart flutters as he thinks of the possibility like solving an Arithmancy problem. He supposes the boys and him don’t necessarily hold hands, but he imagines holding yours would be way nicer.
Is he sweating?
His palms are sweaty, forget it, and you’re just friends! You’re telling him about your day like you both haven’t seen each other in years, but he even sat by you at lunch earlier, much to the rest of the Marauders’ surprise. Though Remus supposes you could even make Divination sound interesting—maybe even make him look in the stupid tea leaves to see if you’re in his future, furry little problem and all. He realizes he’s been staring a second too long, bumping into you lightly as you stop in front of the library.
“Haha, you okay? You’re quiet today, Rem. Something on your mind?”
A lot about you, apparently, thanks to his meddling friends.
Remus scratches the nape of his neck as he grimaces, cheeks reddening again and instead of a response, he opens the door for you and puts his finger to his mouth as if to say “Shhhh….” before Madam Pince starts a fit at either of you. That, or him actually having to say how he feels.
How he feels… Well…shit.
You make a beeline for an open table near the corner, tugging at his wrist like it’s not making his heart beat out of his chest and Remus tries to compose himself, but then you look at him with your pretty fluttering eyelashes and he knows he’s utterly fucked. Pulling out your chair for you, you squeeze his arm in thanks and scooch your chair closer to his.
“Rem?”
“Hmm?” he responds, a strangled noise crawling up his throat as he coughs slightly, his arm landing on the back of your chair before he panics then realizes he’d look like an arse for pulling away.
Not that he wants to.
“How did you know?”
His heart genuinely stops. There’s no way you’ve caught on that quickly—especially not with him just realizing how he feels about you, his friend that he wants to be more and there is nothing casual about what he wants to d—
“How’d you know I was at the common room? You walked out just as I was about to walk in, I thought it was kinda funny,” you giggle, brushing your hair behind your ear and he takes a deep breath.
You’re just friends. But he definitely wants to be more.
“The boys told me it was you,” Remus says, chewing on his lip, “Apparently they had a feeling.”
And now, so does he.
What’s worse is that Remus hates admitting when they’re right (which is rare enough in itself, he’ll never hear the end of it from their inflated egos).
What’s worst of all is that for the first time in his Hogwarts career, Remus Lupin ends up submitting an essay late.

I need to sleep. I am putting way too much thought and upset energy into a scripted sports soap opera 😂😭 Anyway
Some Of Cryptid's Current Thoughts And Feelings™ On The State Of Her RAW Faves
1) Liv Morgan's booking.
Ya'll. I'm a Rhea simp/stan and a person second, anyone who's been on my blog for more than thirty seconds knows this 😂 And I've also made it no secret I, for the most part, am actually still enjoying the Liv v Rhea feud. So all that being said, what the fuck is going on with Liv's booking.
I know she's a heel and part of a heel faction and in-ring bullshit is the name of the game, but the fact that neither of her title defenses have been won clean (granted, she didn't technically win the Bad Blood one anyway but whatever we all know that ending was botched and she was supposed to technically win) and 9/10 times she runs from Rhea when confronted. They're making the Women's Champ look weak.
Liv can be cunning and vicious, we've all seen it; for fuck's one of my favorite theories that I'm willing to die on the hill of is Liv still just using Dominik as a pawn and is gonna drop him the moment she realizes he doesn't fit in with her plans anymore. Book the feral Liv if they're gonna keep this storyline going.
2) Finn v Damian
I mentioned this in a another post but I feel like the reason they weren't pushed as hard is because they didn't want to risk something forshadowing the PunkIntyre feud...And if that's the case, they shouldn't have had Finn turn yet. With this theory in mind, and tbh even if NOT true this would have still worked, the tldr in my head is
-Dom's turn should have been the same
-Have Finn, and the rest of the JD stick around and the rivalries be Dom v Damian and still Rhea v Liv
-Bad Blood rolls around, Dom and Damian have a match, and Finn's turn comes in the form of him and the JD assisting Dom.
-The Finn v Damian feud kicks off the same night Punk v Drew ends
There was NO REASON to have Finn turn and to wait this long to really start doing something with it. I still standby my opinion if done right, this rivalry could still be AMAZING...But it doesn't change the fact it has lost a LOT of momentum going the way it has.
3) Rhea Currently Standing Alone
To a degree, I get it. Her and Damian agreed to do their own thing because he's done with the JD (as far as he thinks.) and they're in different divisons but he would/will always come if Rhea called. I'm not a fan of how fast they split them up as a team-again, wave two of the Terror Twins shirts had barely shipped when this happened-but this segement was okay. It was sweet and mutual.
THAT SAID.
Rhea is currently in a 2v1 (not counting Dom cause I have little hopes of us ever getting a sanctioned match with them cause ✨intergender✨🙄) rivalry. Liv has Raquel...Who the fuck does Rhea have? Tiffy? Maybe, but we can't even say that for certain because as it sits right now, they're on different shows. Show borders are just currently being blurred in, assumingly, prep for Survivor Series.
Why the fuck does Rhea currently have to stand alone.
4) Jhea
THIS KINDA PIGGYBACKS OFF MY LAST PARAGRAPH AND IS THE ONE I REALLY DON'T GET??? Okay, yes, it was probably supposed to be something cute and just for fun to fill time while the other main storylines Rhea and Jey are/were in moved along. But if that was the case, why did ya'll move it to the main stage and not just keep it in backstage segments? Rhea during a preshow interview, I think it was Bad Blood?, said Jey showed her what a real man was like. Not to mention Jey coming to Rhea and Damian's defense or Jey agreeing to tag with Damian cause he "can't say no to Rhea." Why the fuck would you plant seeds like that on screen, on the main stage, and then just??? Drop it??? I don't get it???
5) JEY MOTHERFUCKING USO'S 28 DAY REIGN
I'm gonna make this one short and sweet cause you can literally see all my posts directly below this word vomit and see how mad I am 😅 But, in short; Why. Why not wait until after he's done with the Bloodline to give him a title? Why not have this same set up but give him the title ages ago. Give him a decent title reign with the same ending. Predictable at that point sure, but okay...What is the fucking point of having him, a fan favorite who everyone was cheering the house down the night he won, get his first solo title ever after fourteen years...Only to give it back to Bron less than a month later?
Bron is a GREAT preformer, do not get me wrong but making this...I don't want to say newcomer, but newer star a two time champ in his lesser time with the WWE just doesn't sit right with me.
I know Jey was gonna get involved with the Bloodline story at some point. I know it would have been hard to impossible to book him in a Smackdown story as a RAW champ...They could have done in without stripping his first non-tag title from him in under a month. We could have gotten crashout Jey going after Solo and Co without what we got tonight.

RaR Musings #7: Meaningful Mechanics
I saw a post this week about other people in the ttrpg design space, lamenting their years of work, and being dismissed for their project seeming like "a dnd clone". A fair concern, to be sure, but it would turn out the criticism stemmed from having a fantasy themed roleplaying game, that uses a d20 and adds proficiency, has character creation that involves classes, and spellcasting with multiple levels of spells. Others suggested there might be similarities if you use the standard stats, like STR, DEX, and INT.
So what's a guy with a fantasy themed roleplaying game that uses Xd10, adding proficiency, has a character creation engine that has classes as a minor element, and spellcasting with a mana system allowing you to cast spells at a higher level, using some basic stats, to do?
Firstly: not worry about it. Creativity is iterative, and DND has been the fantasy roleplay standard for nigh on 50 years, having affected pop culture and videogame design alike. It'd be hard NOT to have anything similar to it, and for those who have no experience outside of DND, dipping a toe outside that space can seem daring and adventurous. The writer is probably upset because they don't understand how generally meaningless their reinventing of the wheel was in terms of convincing people to play their game instead; in fact, there wasn't any mention of WHY he made the effort to design his own game in the first place. Was it distaste for existing products? Because he had vision? Or just to prove that he could do it too, a kind of intellectual parroting?
Game mechanics can't be copywritten, so while it's not illegal to copy mechanics, there needs to be certified thought put into what those mechanics are meant to achieve, and why they may fail to do so.
As an example: both d20 games and Road and Ruin involve rolling dice to generate a random value, and then adding your proficiency as a flat number.
DND falls down here because even high proficiency, like +11 or +13, barely crests over half of the value generated by random d20, much less the more regular +1 to +6. This means a specialist, someone who has lifelong expertise at their craft, can still bungle even a basic action, giving other players a chance to perform, but completely botching the class fantasy of being a specialist, and there's no coded mechanics for varying levels of success or failure to even reward being a specialist beyond increased binary success rate. Multiple overlapping proficiencies don't have cumulative value, and outside of house rules, you can't mix and match Attribute to Proficiency, such as using Strength for Intimidation. However, the system is simplistic, and easy to understand. Not having different values for different proficiencies means only having to refer to a single number as a bonus, which makes stat scaling much more predictable, and as mentioned, giving other players the limelight means the skill monkeys won't hog it.
Road and Ruin HAD a much more 'unique' skill check system; roll your attribute (1-10) as Xd10, and your proficiency (two 0-5 proficiencies combined) determined the minimum score any dice could land. Dice were adjusted, totalled, and the sum divided by 10 to find Success Rate, with scores of 1 or higher expected. This ended up being too much adjusting and adding; it produced the ideal values, but was too slow, and not very fun, especially to do repetitively. Worse, it didn't enable 'skill' to exceed 'raw talent'; you needed a high attribute for the guaranteed 'floor' that proficiency provided to matter, and I wanted those with training to potentially exceed those without training. If INT4 rolls 4d10, and Proficiency 3 meant you couldn't get below a 3 on each, for a 'floor' of 12-40, that still meant an average ~22, regardless of if you were trained or not. Specialization 'rolled' an additional 1d10, but set it aside as an automatic 10, thus improving skill checks beyond what was possible via random dice rolls, raising both floor and ceiling by 10, but not solving the issue of speed or reliability.
So now, Road and Ruin has a Roll + Proficiency system too, except you roll Xd10 (1-5), and Proficiency is two scores (0-5 each), combined, and multiplied by Specialization, with a cheat-sheet of the most common Proficiency results for your character. Adding the dice, and Proficiency, before finding successes, is still slow, but faster now, and due to the multiplication of scores and specialization, your character may even automatically succeed basic tasks, without the need for a roll at all. Such skillmonkeying requires utmost devotion though, and is far better suited to an NPC assistant; but, said NPC will still be built using the same mechanics as what goes into a character, making it easier to understand and appreciate their service.
More importantly: I like it. I understand that others might not; it doesn't have the hallmarks of DND's 'gamble' economy, getting high rolls and confetti when you hit a 20, but frankly, I'm building this game for me, not for people who are satisfied with DND. Even my nine attributes are inspired by World of Darkness, though slightly redefined to suit the needs of my setting instead, and the proficiency skill list is entirely my own, designed to offer as many cases of two overlapping skills as possible. Using any attribute in the skill check, based on what you aim to affect rather than what the proficiency is most known for (using DEX and herbalism to get plant clippings, or INT and herbalism to recall plant facts, for example) is a much more direct and diverse way to handle skill checks, rather than trying to remember whether Nature in DND is Intelligence or Wisdom, and why. Rolling multiple dice instead of 1d20 helps protect against fringe rolls, making the rare cases truly rare, as well as creating a market for spells, equipment, and abilities that affect your skill checks to have meaningful use, rather than simply adding a +1.
But I'm having fun doing all this. Road and Ruin began because I was upset with DND, and over the years, I've done a lot of work, first to intentionally distance it from DND, and only later to begin to paint it in my own colors, doing what I want, not in rebellion of what I don't. Anybody looking to design their own systems should be more preoccupied with how their mechanics feel; if people think that it's too similar to an existing product, one that you intentionally avoided? Then that's tough beans for them. They don't get to define how you have fun, and at the end of the day, that's what playing, and designing, a game is all about.

/Birdfeeder anon - I was kinda hoping for our dear doppleganger to hunt another pigeon while it's distracted, in a typical doppleganger manner. There's no way an unaware person would just throw meat at random birds XD/
/But that does make me think of animal-formed dopples some more. Guess that wouldn't be common, or else they could have just be feeding on rats or something. Or maybe they do, and D.D.D. isn't aware of it yet. Fried wing for your thoughts?/
{OKAY HEADCANON TIME!! Also, it's clear that it was meant for me but ty for the clarification :) appreciate it}
We can arrange the doppel hunting the pigeons. :D The best way for you to do that is to just watch the Doppel a bit, without following it; especially if your guy is a birdwatcher and has binoculars. It would try to hide away for a nice snack. :D and you'd see how it hunts as a bird which is fun.
NOW for animal doppels, I want to go back to the beginning of my thought process, but I think they are actually the majority.
The first thing I thought about how there is absolutely no way the doppels only eat humans, because that is hard prey to get. Even if someone absolutely botches the playthrough, they would still throw out, like, fifty percent of the doppels. If someone who has played too much is the doorman, then it drops down to one per day, out of about six to nine doppels. We also hear the doppels mentioning that they are studying to get into the apartments, which takes time, during which they are not eating.
Similarly, the doppels also don't clean out every building they get into, because then, all the humans would be completely gone after, like, a few days.
So, the doppels get into apartments after a long time, really rarely, and they don't clear out the entire apartment; most likely, they only kill the doormen.
Now. That would mean food for them comes from somewhere else, which opens a host of possibilities, but that begs the question: why do they eat humans at all when one meal has like, fifty percent mortality rate for the hunter at best?
There's two things that I decided to headcanon to offset that.
First, there is a decent chance of the doppel escaping from the DDD; thanks to their shapeshifting, they would be hardy, because they can re-shapeshift whatever organ gets injured. Second, the human meat is both very tasty, and brings prestige with it. The doppel that ate a human spent months to get ready, pulled off a perfect disguise, killed the most dangerous prey - that's the mother of all bragging rights there!
Most shapeshifters never taste human meat, because it's too risky. The DDD needs its resources to deal with actual threats to humans, so the weird animals are just THERE, you are better off grabbing a broom and dealing with them yourself. Maybe only the human form is called doppelganger, even, and they call the animals something else.
Also, I decided that the doppels need calories/biomass to shapeshift, especially into larger forms. This is what the DDD leverages, mostly; they beat the doppel bad enough for it to not be able to take human form for a long time. Humans are relatively big.
Most mature doppels are deer, since deer are weird as hell already, but there are a lot of stray cats, dogs, and things like possums and raccoons. The common garbage nuisances have a chance to be doppels.
also, since the pigeoning is going on there, @steven-rudboys this is my headcanon behind the entire thing

It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be but it is unusable. I certainly botched the tension and I think I know how.
I just need more practice.
Not nearly as bad as he first time when I tried to wind the warp following the instructions...
I could probably do THAT better, now, too, but the modifications are mostly working out for me.
There are some other small mods I would make if I could but they're outside my ability, like adding more wheels to stop thread and stuff from getting onto the ratchet assembly.
I am happy that I'm not pulling too hard on the weft. I do kind of cheat, though. Instead of tossing the shuttle and then beating the thread, I've been gently pushing the shuttle, pulling it a little bit, bringing the heddle down almost all the way, then tightening the thread until it's just right, and then giving it a tap tap. The heddle stops the weft from moving too much that way. I can still pull it a little too tight but can't choke it.
-
I have to admit, though, that the setup is not fun, the projects are over so fast, I spend more time adjusting the position of the scarf on the loom and reloading my shuttle than anything else, and if something goes wrong it's a lot of waste because I don't have the patience to un-weave it bit by bit to start over.
Knit and crochet are much easier, faster set up, take fucking forever to finish a project because I never choose anything small (I mostly only make blankets), and if I screw it all up there's little to no waste.

Talk Shop Tuesday for creating Quinn? (If you haven’t answered already!)
Thank you!!!
Talk Shop Tuesday, and a link to Quinn's OC bio here
Long ramble ahead... they're a fun one :D
I actually created Quinn while writing my other 6 Underground fic, Nom De Guerre. I enjoyed writing that story and that OC, AJ, but partway through I got to thinking about a character who, rather than meeting the Ghosts during a mission, knew one of the characters before they joined the Ghosts and had a reunion after the fact.
Naturally, this character had to be Billy. He's my favorite, and his backstory as a parkourist who fell in a botched mission was just too good to pass up.
The base idea for Quinn as a character was this: they both fell in the botched job, but Billy got lucky and she didn't.
As with most of my characters, the rest of the details came... well, not exactly at random, but I picked them based on what felt right and seemed interesting to explore. She's punk because that seemed like a fun character design, and it's rare that I see genuine hardcore punks represented in fiction. She's a non-op trans woman for the same reason - it gives depth to her story, and I've worked hard to convey it as accurately and respectfully as I can, but it began with the understanding that characters like Quinn rarely get the chance to be protagonists.
I tend to see a lot of "everyman" OCs, particularly in fanfiction, and that's just not my style. For one thing, that's just not interesting to read, let alone to write. And for another, that "everyman" idea is typically based on this super heteronormative, cis-normative, white Western-focused idea of what makes a "default" character, and that's ignorant if not outright damaging to the millions of people who don't fit that mold. I don't want to make a character that some blank-faced Western suburban audience can project onto, I want to make a character that compels the audience to their story. That's not specific to Quinn, but it is a lot of what went into her story.
Once I decided how Quinn's fall would affect her, I did a lot of research into the medical side of things in an effort to portray it as accurately as I could. I looked into the physical side of things, like the specific damage that occurred to her body, but I also looked into a lot of personal stories from people with similar disabilities. I found blogs talking about mobility issues, the proper ways to depict crutches, canes, and other mobility devices, and descriptions of the various types of hallucinations from people who experience them regularly.
The one thing I've found that didn't exactly line up about her story is that traumatic head wounds aren't known to cause lasting hallucinations like what she experiences, but the brain is a complicated machine and it's very possible that Quinn had a latent schizotypal disorder that was expressed after the head wound. Uncommon, but not impossible - and isn't that all you really need from fiction? It's more realistic than House MD, at least XD
Quinn's experience with her disabilities is an interesting one to write. In some ways, her experience is very different from my own - her physical injuries are more severe, she regularly uses mobility aids, and I've never experienced hallucinations like she does. But in other respects, I do pull from my own life when I write her - I have congenital joint problems that do cause me pain and difficulty and a lot of Quinn's emotional responses to those issues are reflections of my own, and I have experienced some small sensory disturbances from time to time (particularly when I'm sleep-deprived).
And like Quinn, I was a very active person (martial arts, American Ninja Warrior training, etc.) and I still struggle with the idea that I've already lost some physical mobility and will continue to lose more as time goes on. I'm still a very active person and I work hard to try and keep my body in good shape while I can, but there's only so much I can do and it's tough to come to terms with that.
Quinn as a character is a bit of a journal for me. Her being transgender and struggling to feel like she'll be known and accepted and loved by the people around her, her experiences with disability and trying to accept that she is limited, and her being punk and the social judgement that comes with that, all of that are things that I experience and I work through those feelings by writing them out in Quinn's story. It takes a different shape in her than it does myself, but the intent and emotion behind it is the same, and it ends in some of the most raw and emotional scenes I've written.
Thank you so much for the ask!! I really appreciate you asking about my different OCs, and Quinn's story especially is one of my favorites!

😂😂😅😅 I keep saying I'll leave a comment proper on ao3.... I swear it'll happen...
But anyway, I just caught up on your "Winds of change" fic, chapter 5 is such a nice transitory chapter. Very sweet and soothing for what's to come LOL I like Shuuji's suspiciousness of the other partnermon because they're rooted in observation that have the right amount of ambiguity to make him feel like he's losing his mind lol Specially with how the others don't seem to acknowledge them at all lol In Saki's case, she's in her feelings and wary and keeping on her ever avoidsnt facade, so it makes sense she doesn't wanna put her hands to the fire. Aoi is always about holding herself back, specially if it could be something disruptive so it makes sense she wouldn't say anything either lol If it's something in her mind, she's gonna over think it and talk about it privately to Takuma or Labramon, whoever feels pertinent, later so 😂 Tough luck, Shuuji. It's harder for me to tell if Miu picks on anything, it could go either way lol But yeah, the doubt about his own perceptions works well for his general anxious demeanor.
I love the way you write Labramon lol Her strong personality and the inherently bossy way she carries herself really comes across lol Very resolute. Agumon also came across so sweetly, that sort of hilarious and apparently simple-minded loud and surprised reactions from him that still underscore how emotional and sensitive he is was really good. And ofc, Miu holding then together and relaxing the atmosphere with her antics was great as well.
seriously, there's no rush or obligation! it means a lot to me that you're reaching out on tumblr to comment (:
oh phew, im so happy to hear that it feels like a good transition between 'arcs'.
yeah, i'm actually having a lot of fun exploring shuuji in this post-waterway but pre-10daytimeskip period of time. ive talked about it before, but i noticed theres not a ton of interaction between shuuji and the others (other than takuma and ryo) that the player gets to see after he makes amends with lopmon and before part8.
based on how shuuji is much more respected by the group after takuma is back from the other side, i think there was a lot of effort on his part to smooth the feathers he ruffled before he underwent that personal growth. it's a shame we don't get to see it in-game, but i know im having (and am going to have) a lot of fun thinking about shuuji trying very hard to build or rebuild relationships with his peers after botching a few of them (notably kaito, though i will say that while i DO have plans for writing kaito-shuuji interaction, they're outside the scope of what im covering in winds of change).
BUT yeah, all this to say, these stunted relationships he has with the group at this point in time is why it's so hard for him to discern if other people's partners are deliberately hiding things from him. jumping to conclusions has only caused problems for him in the past, so he's trying to avoid it and think about things rationally. but that's hard when he has no frame of reference for how the digimon "normally act" , and you're right, the lack of acknowledgement of "suspicious" behavior from the human partners makes it even harder for him to tell if something's off.
i was SOOOO surprised at how fun and easy labramon was for me to write!! i was actually pretty worried about it at first. labramon's a lot more complex than i gave her credit for - i mean obviously the way she treats aoi is FAR different to how she treats everyone else, but i do think that the snark and bossiness is just her way of conveying that she's confident in her methods and wants to use those methods to keep the others safe. she's such a delightful contrast to aoi but if i get into that now we'll be here all day. glad you enjoyed how i portray her! agumon is fun too, he's just so genuine <3 it's very comforting to hear that i'm doing okay with miu too. as much as i love her, i think she's the toughest for me to write after saki.
thank you again so so much for taking the time to write such a long and thoughtful comment. i really do appreciate it!! <3 you have a really solid grasp on the characters as well, so i'm always happy to hear your insight! (:

'The Doctor Who 60th anniversary specials brought back David Tennant and Catherine Tate, but they also gave us a dangerous new precedent that has fans divided.
“The Giggle” provided Doctor Who with a new idea: bi-generation. The concept is simple in that the Doctor, when provided with the means necessary, could regenerate and separate into two wholes. It is how we now have Ncuti Gatwa and David Tennant as the Doctor. This comes with a myriad of problems when you think about it for too long, but frankly, I don’t mind the idea of letting Tennant’s Doctor have this happiness. Let me explain.
Doctor Who, as many of us know it, came to be because of the era of the show when Tennant took over as the tenth Doctor after Christopher Eccleston regenerated at the end of season one of the series. He helped bring the show worldwide recognition and, for many of us, the regeneration of David Tennant into Matt Smith, as both Tennant and show runner Russell T. Davies left the series, ruined that era of the show. Giving him a second chance at both happiness and his run at the Doctor helped provide closure for fans.
What I loved about this bi-generation is that it gave us a fresh start with the Doctor. We are in a new era, a fresh one, and all the old ways of the Doctor are still there, but he’s new and fun. It still comes with a pain for the past though that is going to be hard to unpack when we think about it for too long, especially with characters that we know suffered.
I feel bad for Rose Tyler even though she’s fine now
Tennant’s Doctor getting his happy ending with Donna Noble and her family is beautiful to me but it also hurts that Rose Tyler—thought she does actually have her own version of the Doctor with the Meta-Crisis clone—isn’t even a thought in his mind in this instance. Or at least not one that we’re seeing now that he gets to just live forever as the Doctor with his own little TARDIS in his own little world.
When you think about all the people who would have loved to spend time and space with the Doctor, Rose Tyler is one of the first people to come to mind. Maybe the idea that she went on to live with the Meta-Crisis clone was enough for Davies to think she was happy, but it does make me wonder how the Doctor feels about being romantically alone, in a sense.
Fixing a botched regeneration
Part of me thinks that this is the way of giving us a second chance at loving the Doctor’s regeneration, because for someone like me who loved Tennant’s run at the Doctor, his regeneration ruined him for me. I was devastated at the time when it was announced that Tennant was leaving the show with Davies. I wanted him to stay for as long as possible and I was determined to not like Matt Smith.
Yet, my favorite Doctor remains Matt Smith. Why? Because I hate what happened during David Tennant’s regeneration. The “I don’t want to go” of it all just tarnished the legacy that this Doctor had.
This new life he was given in the 60th specials? It made me appreciate that love again. It reminded me of how much this era of Doctor Who meant to me without that anger of the regeneration. Seeing the new regeneration come to life, even if it meant the future of the show and what a “regeneration” means could be thrown to the wind, held a special kind of weight for me.
It didn’t change who is my favorite because the Matt Smith era means a lot to me, and who I am as a person, but it did change the anger I held for that “I don’t want to go” line.
A happy ending is good sometimes
If anyone deserves to have a happy ending, it is Ten. After everything he has been through and the time that he spent as the Doctor, it makes sense to give Tennant this moment. More than that, I think this was Russell T. Davies saying sorry to us all for that first regeneration. Yes, it sets a dangerous precedent for the future. Sure, I would have loved for this to happen with my favorite Doctor (Matt Smith), but that doesn’t mean that Tennant’s run as the Doctor doesn’t deserve this.
Look at it this way: Without this new era of Doctor Who and, more specifically, Tennant’s seasons as the Doctor, the show wouldn’t necessarily have gotten as big as it ended up getting. Or maybe it would have some other way, but we can quantifiably attribute the show’s success to what Tennant did as the Doctor. Letting him have a happy ending where he has his TARDIS, can relax, and hang out with his best friend at the end of the day is fine by me.
As a fan of the show, sure, I don’t love what the bi-generation means for future justification of saying goodbye to Doctors that we know and love, but for now, I think this is a fine farewell to someone who helped make this show what it currently is. Plus, it gives us a chance to return to the Doctor and Donna whenever we want. Right? Right?'

9/3-4/24
tuesday - wednesday
uneventful but in the good way.
i figured that song that's been bothering me, 35 iterations deep, i think i'm basically there, might eq some low end back in, i know i like always say this but really it sounds way more right, to me. i also wrote some riffs, tried to figure out some riffs from some live videos, learned some chord like things from that, ways to move my fingers, intervals to think of alongside my usual power chord slide-y-ness. more and more lately, i want to get better at guitar, and i also really want to figure out how to just write riffs like this:
youtube
i mean maybe i'm basically here, but really i want to write some silly drums out, and then just... play guitar thru distortion and amp sims and hear it and be responding to that as i write, because when you're playing dissonant scrape-y junk, you're playing the harmonics and intermodulation of notes thru distortion and amplification, you're messing with those textures almost, and when you bend and slide, you're doing more than modulating notes, and it'd be nice to have a more instant way to get that, and to be able to do it instantly, and play a guitar, i want to write cheeky riffs, that have these kinds of things going on, not just the super fast upward disso thing that happens here, but there's also a bit of a garage-y character, it's also got a sense of fun to it, i want to be there already, i guess i am a bit, i have felt like i've gotten close, but it's an ordeal getting those feelings out of me, that pleasure, it's a little botched feeling these days, not the riffs necessarily, just that the riffs and the sound... don't cohere entirely, and then if i do get the sound, i spent too much time, i'm tired, so i don't necessarily spend as much time with the sound making something like, i dunno, that, that scuzzy-ness. the gross-ness is hard to get out sometimes. it's hard to play regular old guitar moves on a keyboard, those cliches can help me with doing cheeky scuzzy no-wave faggy riffs. plus... it'd be really easy to do my regular power chord slides as well, and the reason i love sticking with those as something i write with a lot is cuz they do have that feeling naturally, when you have a power chord that's not so dissonant next to a bunch of dissonance, and then have it do some move to the sixth of that chord, so it's kinda evil, that's a pleasing gesture that gets at this sort of emotional range, but i also want the spindly freaky chords jamming into... other freaky movements, bends on specific strings, suddenly hitting the low e and doing some slide-y shit over that. it's hard to write that in the daw itself, where i can play that now, even, and with enough time arrive at some special kinda riff, i have before, i know i can again, i just need the tone to be right, as well, to be speaking in that register so i may put more forth, i guess.
anyway that's my music complaining of the day done, i'm just imagining new possibilities out there, with an interface. i also worked on the soundtrack today as well, happy with that, i think thursday is when i'll have some stuff to show the director. or, enough? i want it to be 'enough' whatever that means, professional sounding too,,, what does that even mean to someone like me? i dunno. stereo space, and not too many fighting frequencies, clear mids for dialogue, that's what i am thinking.
i found out about something super scary today:
Tumblr media
this is from some new game called 'inzoi' it's supposed to be like the sims i guess but it looks so fucked up, the characters people make have like, wrong shapes. impossible heads and things, like the one i just posted, but it's so realistic, it's right in the uncanny valley it's so freaky i don't get the apparent hype for this. although it could do better than the sims because the sims has like,,, done so little, for so long.
this character's gesture is so frightening and i can't even tell you what he's conveying, it's somewhere beyond disgust and hate and disappoint, it's a garbage bag trying to emote. so i find it interesting artistically but it's a failure of the thing itself. which is interesting at least. but i am not looking forward to if this suddenly becomes a bigger deal... people posting their creations how they do with the sims, but at a larger scale... guhh.
i also wrote a bit today, just now, feeling good about that. need to go put hair oil in my hair brb.
okay... i did that... nothing else to say really, i did see a bug earlier, i killed it, i sprayed, i don't know where they are coming from in the bathroom but it has been more common lately, stressful. i hate this place a lot honestly. i can't believe how much it sucks.
i have to sleep now,
so,
byebye!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello I come to you sir Boro to give you some numbers for the short story thingy: 8, 12 and 40. 👁💖
micro stories ask game
Better late than never, right? Right? Sorry friend, but I had fun with these after all, thank you for the questions! Hope you enjoy the little KEK and cheesy shit. Since you didn't wanted any particular for Aon or Vlad, I chose myself, hope that's alright!
8 sunbathing
Vlad sat on a woven armchair on the sunny balcony of Gishlaine's small apartment in Tangier and looked down on the glittering coast of Morocco.
"You're enjoying yourself, aren't you?" the young woman asked as she put on her white leather jacket and joined him briefly to say goodbye for the day.
"Where are you going?" he asked in a soft voice, reaching for her thin wrist to pull her closer.
"I have a few things to do today," she replied soberly, but accepted his invitation and sat on his lap for a moment, wrapping her arms around his neck.
"A few things. Robbery, fraud and worse, for a dollar and a dime? You know, I could buy you the world, my dear."
She smiled mischievously at him and put more strength into her embrace as he pulled her even closer to catch the scent of the perfume he had gifted to her.
"I know that. But what do I want with the world? I want this. Something real. The hunt, the chase. The adrenaline. You should know that better than anyone. You may belong there too, but high society is not my world."
He chuckled and grabbed her chin to give her a brief but passionate kiss. "First and foremost, I belong to you, my beautiful Gazelle."
"Such a charmer. But you can try as hard as you like to keep me here. I still have to go." She returned the kiss and drew away from him.
As she neared the door, she turned around again, knowing that he would be watching her the whole way until she disappeared. "The world may be too much," she began, "but I wouldn't say no if you invited me to dinner tonight. And don't sit there all day, you'll get sunburnt," she added with a teasing grin before disappearing into the crowded streets of Morocco.
12 candles
Kurt was sitting relaxed in the lounge of the stadium, reading today's report on the current business and deliveries that Jago had brought him a few minutes ago, when the large door to his right opened and he heard an all too familiar mischievous laughter.
Aon came striding into the room, shaking her head and grinning broadly, and beckoned him over.
"That's so good. You have to come and see it, please," she said, barely able to get a word out without laughing and without any further explanation turned around again.
Kurt gave her a confused look, put the tablet aside and followed her with an annoyed sigh.
They walked down the corridor to one of the large storage rooms of the facility where new deliveries were stored, sorted and transported to the respective rooms and workshops. Aon led the Colonel to a large crate and looked at him with amusement.
"Here - open this."
Kurt still didn't understand what seemed so incredibly funny and first looked at the labeling on the crate. When he then lifted the lid, his face immediately froze and Aon burst out laughing again next to him.
"So," she began again."I've seen quite a few things in the years I've been coming to this circus. But this is just..."
Kurt reached into the box which, according to the delivery bill, was supposed to contain "Handles". For handguns.
But what Kurt now had in his hand were scented candles. He didn't know what to say and just stared at the botched delivery.
Aon, on the other hand, was still having the time of her life and also took one of the candles out of the box and smelled it. "Uhhh - vanilla, very classy. I wonder if the 30 other boxes look exactly like this."
"Can you just shut the fuck up?" was all Kurt said back, still outraged.
40 pet
Aon sat at one of the workbenches at the edge of the workshop, assembling what was now her tenth assault rifle, a cigarette in the corner of her mouth and the small radio beside her playing the tunes of Samurai's "Chippin´in". It was very monotonous work after a while, but it still gave her a lot of satisfaction whenever one component fitted perfectly into the other and she was finally able to put another weapon into the transport box next to her.
An excited purring interrupted her trance before the old, red cat Bill jumped onto her table and crept past Aon on his velvet paws, passing the tools and individual parts of the rifle.
"Well, do you want to help me, my old man?" she asked the elderly animal with a smile, watching him as he sat down curiously in front of her and sniffed on a screwdriver.
Bill was practically part of the inventory of her little family. He had been in the clan when Aon had joined many years ago and was still a source of joy for many in this new environment. In the icy and surreal nature that surrounded the mine, there were a few wild animals to be seen from time to time, but a normal domestic cat was an absolute rarity. Aon had never had a pet and even if Bill occasionally deigned to receive a few cuddles, he was not a classic cuddly cat. Nevertheless, she had taken the old chap very much to her heart.
She placed the half-assembled rifle carefully on the table so as not to startle him with a loud noise and reached out to stroke him.
Until the last moment, old Bill sat motionless in front of her, seeming not to mind.
Just as her fingertips touched his tousled red fur, however, he suddenly hissed at her slapping her hand a few times in anger, which of course couldn't have interested Aon less.
Since there was no cry of pain and the cat could not achieve any satisfaction in his actions, he stalked across the table, growling slightly, and disappeared again as quickly as he had arrived.
Aon just chuckled at the silly little creature and turned back to work. "Well, too bad for you. My claws are harder than yours."

I'm not super familiar with how all these IDs play (I play like a gorilla and use Charge), but it seems like it'd be a fun team to run. You probably know more about the kind of team you're gonna be running than I do, but it feels to me like you're playing a bit safe. I'll get into it below the cut.
My main thought for swaps would be to forego Zwei Sinclair's passive for Mariachi Sinclair's, if you have him. Zwei's can be a potential safety net if Yi Sang or Rabbit Heathcliff have a particularly bad clash early on or if your tanks are taking a second beating after a first, but I'm not sure a safety net is needed with the options you have. Sin requirement for Mariachi's passive is the same, so it just slots right in. I would also consider bringing Grippy Faust for mechanical benefits (Gaze, Bleed potency, Passive) if that's an option, but I do prefer Zwei Faust's vibes.
As for Uptie 4, Rhino Meursault benefits most since he gets more Charge to turn into more Speed and Bleed. Zwei Gregor would get more Aggro to use his passive more when fielded (especially since he could be competing with other UT4 tanks like Rhino). Everyone else gets more benefits to what they already do, which is always nice. Overall, no bad Uptie 4 picks on your main field units (*glares at Rabbit Heath and his +3 ammo and nothing else on UT4*), but I'd say only Meursault is absolutely needed. Everyone else's is just icing on the cake.
I've said it in a previous post I made about my thoughts/tips about Railway, but I didn't really find Railway mechanically challenging myself. Most fights can be summarized with "go face" or "break its arms." I'd put it around Floor 3 of MD2H in terms of difficulty. If you can consistently beat that, Railway shouldn't really be hard in terms of "Can I beat this?". The main difficulty of the mode comes from "Can I beat this quickly?".
Don't psych yourself out too much about whether it'll be too hard to win clashes or whether you'll lose units and botch the run. The hardest fight in the whole thing is the first one because you don't have resources yet. Fluid Sac does fine covering for the occasional cheap shot, and there's a built-in retry button if things get too hairy during a fight.
If you want to get Railway done as fast as humanly possible, well, there's room to optimize. Charge is meta for a reason. If the goal is just to get it done, get the rewards you actually care about from it, and maybe have fun along the way, you can absolutely do that with the team you picked as soon as your units are leveled.
Best of luck in there.
Tumblr media
Okay, so I told myself I would try and get Railway done by the last last week of Season 2 since I was still mostly dicking around with my teambuilding and not making anything meta out of stubbornness, and that day is quickly approaching. Originally I was going to be lazy and just use W Corp because Charge is busted, I have Don Telepole, and I will play Meta if it means getting through a bad/annoying series of fights over with faster.
However.
I also want to at least try and be original and do something a little out of pocket, to beat this challenge my way using strategies and units I personally like using or want to use. To that end, before I ultimately cave and just Uptie 4 Warp Don for the mother of all Charge Teams I wanted to give Railway an earnest go the way I'd prefer to. And my inner Hod is acting up this week so I'm going to try and built a (Non-N Corp) bleed team.
Keep in mind I'll be bring all these units to Level 35 over the week and possibly going to Uptie 4 a few of them, namely Ryoshu and maybe Meursault. I wanted to hear the fandom's opinion before I dive into this.
That said, here's the quick summary of this team.
Yi Sang is here for Crows Eye View to buff Don and Meur's clash/coin power with that much needed haste boost.
Don is here for her good clashing numbers and declaring duels.
Heathcliff is actually more on support than a mainstay since I don't feel like dealing with his ammo.
The Zwei IDs are there to tank and Faust fuels her own Fluid Sac.
Outis is an emergency tank/rupture gal.
Ish is here to support Yi Sang's sinking if need be.
Okay, onto the breakdown.
Yi Sang: Yi Sang is going to be the on the active team is probably the most important member of the team. Along with his good clashing and Sinking application for chip damage, Crow Eye View practically required for this team so I can boost Don and Meursault's speed and let them access their extra bits as they hit +7 speed. Sunshower being a good AoE ego also helps.
The Bleed Team: With the understanding that I'm going to be pushing hard with the bleed team characters like Kurokumo Ryoshu, Rhino Meursault, and Hook Hong Lu are a must. I was debating between Tingtang and Hook, but since I have little in terms of bleed potency already I went with Hook Hong Lu. I'm hoping that Hong Lu can put in the work for bleed potency, but I can't be sure sense I only use him in mirror dungeons at the moment. I know Steam Machine's gonna' be a pain with their Bleed-Cap, but that's what Seven Outis, Molar Ish, and Yi Sang are for in case the first round with it feels too tedious. I'm tempted to put Heathcliff on the bleed team, but I'll be saving him for when I really need his Quick Supression since I can not afford to lose an expensive unit like him early on. and I can actually do stuff with his support passive with this team.
The Tanks: From what I've gleamed Zwei Faust and Zwei Gregor sync well with each other, and I'm gonna' need some damage sponges and Aggro because I can NOT afford for ANYTHING of the DPS units to die in this run. Everyone is too vital to go missing save for maybe, ironically, Rabbit Heathcliff. Faust is especially useful since she fuels her own Fluid Sac and the only thing we're really hard pressed on is Envy, but overall have units with good clashing so it shouldn't be too bad.
The Extras: Rabbit Heathcliff is here to get 45 Sanity on the first boss, then spam the shit out of Quick Supression to delete Steam Machine ASAP. Ironically, he'll be the one I'm saving until maybe the third or fourth cycle. I need at least one DPS unit I can switch out at any given time and Heathcliff is too valuable to risk losing early on. This is the same mentality I have for putting one Seven Outis and Molar Ish. Seven Outis is mostly here as an emergency unit with good clashing just in case I either lose a tank near the end or when I feel like I'll really need that spammable base EGO rupture chip damage. Molar Ish is there to help support sinking with Yi Sang along with also having good clashing power. Mostly emergency units at the end of the day.
The Supports: I have no good Rodion or Sinclair IDs, at least for Railway, so I'm gonna' be using base Rodion's passive and if I have the thread to spare I'll Uptie Zwei Sinclair for his surprisingly decent support passive. Heathcliff is ironically on the support team too since he can boost quite a few of my units with this time with his pierce boost, namely Yi Sang and Ryoshu, but Hook Hong Lu might get some usefulness out of this too if I play my cards right (or wrong).
And... that's the team. Any thoughts so far? Anyone I should Uptie 4 first before I dive in? Is this actually going to be possible or am I'm just screwed and should Uptie 4 Warp Don for MAXIMUM CHARGE TEAM to get through this?

"Greetings sirs and madam! I am William Dubois, humble servant by day and boxer by night. Us gentleman heard about your opinion of the ladies and were curious about what your thoughts were on us!
Thank you kindly and, please, if there is anything I may do for you, do not hesitate to ask! Farewell"
- William Jean Dubois
"Mr Dubois! Wonderful to see you! I remember you from our meeting at the house!" "Jazzy, the question, remember?" "Oh! Yes, apologies! AHEM!"
Tumblr media
"So, Of course, I have to mention yourself! I love your attitude and your commitment! It's admirable my good lad! And Kitty, gosh I don't know what it is, but I love his devotion to his pets! Now THAT is a good friend. If I had to pick a least favourite...Oh jeez, I am sorry but I just do NOT like Claude, the way he acts just so...well anyways, yes, those are my picks." "Hooey! I didn't have to think about this one too much! My beautiful boy, Gear! I just love him so, so much! He's a sweetheart! A real charmer! And always knows how to cheer me up! Similarly, I love Peach for almost the same reasons! He's just such a goofball! Me and him love to gab about all the boys from time to time! It's always a hoot!"
Tumblr media
"привет! Soda Popinsky here. I am here to translate for Sonya so there is no confusion! Sonya has told Popinsky that her favourite boxer is...wait really??...O-okay, okay. She like Grimm and Seo...she says that she likes Grimm's eerieness...I find that hard to believe...Oh! And apparently, she admires Seo's efforts to change outside of the ring...да After experience with Robin I imagine it set him on right path...or something. Mhm, I see. Apparently she doesn't like Honey, because his smell actually irritates her skin and she can't work on him like that...so that's why he doesn't come in...hm!" "Ours is obvious! Ey, El?" "Oh absolutely!"
"RAHI!!"
"We love him! He's a true bro that's for true! Great fun for Rugby! And he's just a really fun fella!" "Uh-huh! Super cool guy, who really knows how to make everyone feel like...uh what's the word? Whah-no?" "...." "Did I botch that?" "Yes, but it's okay! We can work on it! As for our least fave-" "That BIRDMAN, FUEGO! The way he flirts with all the ladies, no matter where 'e goes I swear he just gets me all angry all over, and for what!? HE'S A BIRD! I COULD KICK 'IS ARSE WELL AND PROPER!" "...Could you?" "...No, but that's beside the point" "I just think he's a little...too playful with the ladies...but hey, we have our fun, messing with the lights alongside Cody!" "He does well with 'em birds though...I guess? So I suppose 'at puts 'im in good taste...only jus' though, I'mma still mess with 'im when I can, Haha!"

i want to be meaner to my mom but scared that i might make a habbit of it to the point of that spilling onto other people, so let's vent, near everytime i say something that challenges her belief that she's right about everything she always goes on about how i love debating her and how im always attacking her and saying she's wrong about everything, this bitch litterally fucking just told her child "you're always the villain to me" like i dont have a mountain of evidence saying that she's the one who's fucked up
look we disagree on things a lot, i disagree with her a lot, she seems to take everytime i point out she could be wrong (the first few times her response was "it's like your my mom mano po" ("mana po" is something people do to their elders) and "go work on your self first" in response to my room and my sleep schedule, like. y'know me sleeping late and being messy gives her yhe excuse to be a bad person.) now it's "you just love debating me don't you" "you always think im wrong about everything" and now recently "youre always the villain in my story" ("lagi kang kontrabida saking buhay")
because yeah sure im the villain, im the person who bullied ("idiot, lunatic, insane, you made yourself ugly, you look insane, you look like a lunatic") verbally abused (read the previous sentences, and what comes after this), hit (four times to be exact, also threathened to beat me up if i ever did that again, and later on said she was gonna smack me if i ever tried it again later on too) and told their kid they're insane and that tgey didn't care about anyone except themselves for botching their haircut
like this isn't my first time saying this within these last few days, it still holds true though, her words, the villain sentence specifically, should be directed at herself if anything, like girlie are you describing your own actions or
damn these last few days have been shit, like most days that have my parents in them aren't good, but these last few days have been horrendous, wonder if i should kill myself lol, atleast id have a botched haircut at the funeral, where a lot of the people whod know me would see, might botch it even more before doing it, just out of spite, it's just like id face the abuse that would com after anyways, i would be dead. also that whole haircut and these few days after said haircut have confirmed my theory that my parents treat me nicer when im pretty so! that's another thing! man!
like girlie really did just say her kid was the villain in her life despite being the one to hit her kid four times over a botched haircut, and verbally and physically abuse said kid for days afterwards (the verbal abuse was worse than what id written, basically just wrote a summary for the most part, just don't feel like translating it) i mean girlie really?
edit: also if you read the tags i almost forgot about that last bit, memory repression works hard ig. wonder how much shit i forgot that i never remembered.
also another edit: i think it's interesting how she used to so "oh so im the villain now" in response to me whenever i brought up her doing something bad, like that used to be a common occurance a few months near a year ago, but now she says "you're like a villain to me" after, reminding her she can be wrong, and botching my haircut. i mean. girlie at least isn't blatantly ripping off mother gothel now so that's fun.
#girlie litterally called her kid the villain despite being the one who bullied#(said idiot. lunatic#insane#you made yourself ugly you look insane#you look like a lunatic.)#verbally abused (read the previous sentences and what comes after this) hit#(four times to be exact#also threathened to beat me up if ever did that again and later on said she was gonna smack me if i ever tried it again later on too)#and told their kid they're insane andthat tgey didn't care about anyone except themselves for botching their haircut#girlie litterally called her kid the villain#it think it's interesting how fell back on using social media slang as a coping mechanism here because sm incites dophamine most times#anyways vent parents i mean wow really let's just fucking#go and jump off guess. i#am exhausted and quite frankly just want to sleep and never fucking wake up again an overdose might be nice idk.#me dying might be the only way to convince her that she's the one that's fucked actually.#or maybe she might fucking say im spoiled dramatic and overemotional in which case idc idc id be too dead too by then anyways#look explaining shit won't work ive already tried that and whenever get into fights with my parents#words and memories just fucking bail on me under enough stress#till i get my shit together hours later and able to pinpoint exactly why they're or in this case she's wrong fuck this#she also told me that ''since im so mature now to now have to rely on her anymore'' and said she wont attend or give me shit anymore#as part of said haircut thing#basically told me she wont be a parent to me anymore because of something that started from a botched haircut#but still doesn't think that actually She may be the villain here#vent#parents

Okay, we're 6 episodes in now and I wanted to wait and make sure the first 3 eps weren't a fluke, but they weren't.
I am really enjoying S2 of TLoVM so far!
It's still good!
S1 had a rough start, but like, pilots are hard. I get it. Selling people on this world and these characters is a lot, setting the right tone is hard. I don't even think they botched it, I think it was just awkward for those first few episodes, but by the end of the Briarwood arc they really proved they can make a worthwhile story out of this with fucking gorgeous animation and solid character work.
S2 continues to impress me in terms of animation, I complained that the one dragon of S1 along with a few undead warg looking things were janky as fuck and looked terrible. Not the case anymore! The Chroma Conclave are CG and they are GORGEOUS, both in design and the way they move, I'm so glad they gave them the attention they need! The Sphynxes looked a little wonky, but in a way that implied maybe they were made of stone, and they're not here for that long anyway, so it's nothing that doesn't work well enough to get you through until they don't matter anymore.
My one nitpicky ultra critical complaint remains what it's always been; character talk too fucking much when they could just shut up and trust their audience to put two and two together.
I know that's like... a petty thing to complain about, but god it annoys me. It shouldn't! It's not like this is trying to be high art or anything! It's a fun dumb adventure story with focuses on action, horror, and comedy, and 2/3 of those it nails every time! It just bugs me that they make crude jokes, they curse, they have gore out the fucking whazoo, they are clearly branding themselves as a Grownup Show For Adults, so the way some of the unnecessary dialogue holds people's hands through scenes like they are small children who don't have any kind of understanding of visual language just... annoys me.
Spoilers below the cut for the most egregious example of this specific gripe;
Okay, so Scanlan being the one to "wound" the Sphynx was something I saw coming a mile away. That's not a bad thing, I've said before if a narrative has done its job, you know what's coming because you've been paying attention to the themes and foreshadowing. I don't remember this being in C1, but I barely remember this part of C1, so that's not saying much, everything between the Briarwood arc and Westruun kinda blurs together for me. But! I knew that it was gonna be Scanlan and that he'd do his bard cutting words shit and wound the Sphynx by reminding him of Osysa. And he did! And it was a sweet moment, I liked that we see the effect it has on the Sphynx as he looks sad and cries. I am a human adult who understands simple emotional cues, I can see he is wounded. The fucking Sphynx does not then with his words need to tell me "You have done what no other has before, you have wounded me; you have wounded my heart." I know that! Scanlan knows that! We saw him crying!
The dialogue that follows is, y'know, clumsy, but I get why they have Scanlan say with his words that he is lonely even though everything in the narrative is beating us over the head about it. But god the whole "Oh, you have wounded me!" thing was just. It irritated me. Just have the Sphynx cry and THEN say, "You must know great love in your life to understand such pain as this." That's it! That's all we need!
It just bugs me!
And it shouldn't!
And I know it!
I'm fully aware how petty I'm being but my god, if you are making a grown up show for adults, trust your audience to be able to discern that a SAPIENT BEING THAT IS CRYING. IS EMOTIONALLY WOUNDED. For FUCK'S SAKE.
Anyway, A- so far, the animation really is amazing and the characters and world are a lot of fun. It's fun! It's fun and worthwhile and good and doesn't try to be anything more than what it needs to be, which is good, I'm just insane and impossible to please.

Yeah, I do remember that aspect of Abel seeming hypocritical and outside of that I didn't really remember his personality standing out much so I didn't really like or hate him, it's probably why I didn't watch all of the series despite owning it. Yeah, I know Vampire Princess Miyu had fans but I didn't personally know any and it originally came out before Youtube so I'm guessing that's why not many people talked about it but someone remembered the show at least and even though it was a channel I'm not fond of I appreciated that they considered the Anime to be memorable. I'm not exactly sure where you can stream Miyu, there was an OVA and the TV show and I imagine the TV show is easier to access. If you do happen to find and watch it let me know your thoughts!
Ahh I see, that makes sense. I don't assume all vampires function the same or have the same opinions within one universe and that hierarchy concept sounds mildly familiar so I must have heard of it at some time, thank you for explaining it though. I remember in Vampire Princess Miyu Lava was similar, Miyu drank his blood and now he's a loyal servant to her so similar concept I guess? I'm glad to hear you enjoyed both the OVA and the TV series. Glad you ultimately got to tsee the rest of Trigun and read it's manga even if it took a while. I know even when you could catch Anime on TV they would rerun a lot of the same episodes so it was hard to get a complete viewing that way.
It's a shame that the original Cowboy Bebop missed the point of the original. I didn't have much confidence in it since I briefly had Netflix back when they did their take on Deathnote and that was botched so badly. I think I heard the One Piece live action was received slightly better? I'm not really a part of that fandom so I wouldn't personally know but some articles on my feed seemed to suggest it was received well. Ahh, so they decided to focus on his brother? Certainly a remake making up for poor character development is understandable but not at the detriment of the rest of the plot.
Yeah, we don't get a whole lot of details for the powers of some of the Millennium items so I don't blame you for even forgetting the puzzle was one of them. I agree if Yami Bakura was more likable or if they focused more on Ryou and his struggles against his dark self the ring would have been more memorable. Yes, exactly! We do get to see that Seto isn't a stock villian or just there to be a foil to Yuugi and gang so I feel Isis' role is really important. I do agree him helping Yuugi should a lot of complexity of his character that we didn't get a lot of before. I think a lot of this was Seto rediscovering himself after the evil in his heart was destroyed and I know the Anime didn't focus on that aspect too much but I still felt like it was present if that makes sense? I don't know why 4kids made him all anti-magic either, it was pretty frustrating. I can see how Anime-only fans may have been shocked by the characterization.
Yeah and Seto could have easily just brushed it off because Kaiba Corp wasn't a military company anymore once he took over but he seems to take it in and not shirk responsibility despite making it clear that that is not his Kaiba Corp and I feel like that shows a lot of respect. I never shipped them either and I don't blame you for not liking Amelda's design. I was pretty neutral about him overall. Oh no! So not only did she share a name with your OC but she was mistreated by the plot! That's really sucks. But yeah I can relate to having an OC with the same name as a canon character being completely different personality-wise lol.
Ugghh, I hate that trope of the female protagonist becoming softer and not as compelling once she's joined the protagonist's side. I don't remember where I've seen that before but I know I've seen that before...I think Black Buttler might have been one of them? Anyway, yeah I imagine having your OTP reset wasn't any fun. We really were spoiled by Takahashi's writing. He made really compelling villains and handled their motivations even for becoming allies really well. You wouldn't think it would be a hard thing to do but I guess not everyone can achieve that balance where they still hold onto their original selves while also developing as a character.
Ahh I see, you liked him ok in Kanto. I think that makes sense. I didn't see Johto either since my last season was the filler one that came out before Johto. I do agree they made the path to becoming a Pokemon master a little vague other than befriending lots of Pokemon and defeating gym leaders. It seems like they got distracted a lot though. I can see how being a bit older would make it hard to relate to Ash, even though i was probably in the demographic I didn't like them changing too much of the game lore either and that's really why I stopped watching the Anime. I admit I find it interesting to talk to someone who never really liked Disney movies from the beginning.
I actually completely forgot the lore of his father being a strong trainer! wow, I wasn't aware they sort of shipped Oak and Ash's mom in canon. I literally just thought it was a joke among the fans so now I kinda have some context for why it's such a common thing for Youtubers I watch to joke about. It does seem like the Anime gets indecisive about what they want. I remember one of my Japanese tutors explaining to me that people who have bid appetites or eat a lot all at once tend to freak Japanese people out so I'm kinda curious how the Japanese fans received that trait lol.
Hmm yeah, I can't imagine I'd be too into that part of the lore considering how common it is to see Ancient Egyptian gods/ royalty being portrayed as villains. Yuugioh is also the only positive example I can think of. It also seems to be the only one that acknowledges the diversity within Ancient Egypt, especially in late Ancient Egyptian society because they had the tendency to adapt ideas and mythos from civilizations they conquered (and expected the same in return). Oh, I see! I guess the person who explained JoJos in a video I watched gave me the wrong impression. Thank you for clearing that up, it still sounds a bit hard to follow but I guess not once you get invested. Ahh, getting into multiple universes sounds like it might muddy things up a bit though.
Yes, I'm sure it's a different name but back in the day it seemed like using PrideShipping gave me results for both Seto and Atem in their present-day and pas-selves so I wanted to clarify just in case? I don't really remember all the names anyway and often wished I had a ship glossary lol.. Anyway, yes I think people who don't deferentiate between Yuugi and Atem would confuse Rivalshipping with Prideshipping. I'm glad to hear that Polyships get some love too. A story shipping Seto with both Atem and Yuugi certainly sounds interesting. I do think we can ignore them not explaining how he gets his own body for the sake of fanfic lol or at least we can think of it as a slight AU I guess? I do agree we're fairly close in wavelength that doing prompt requests for ships usually works out. I'm glad it's a challenge you enjoy embarking on.
Yes, I'm happy you had that opportunity to help you heal from a lot of your trauma. I imagine initially being around people who didn't care about working with OCs was difficult so it's good that you found a group of friends to encourage you. I agree that if you're going to ship the character with someone you project onto it might as well just be a self-ship so that way you aren't bending the narrative to make it fit your wish-fulfillment. I agree they have no right to judge selfshippers.
Well, You're welcome I guess? As long as you're having fun with it I'll keep supporting your blorbo fanart and writings whether it's cringe or not. I'm not surprised to hear that even with Aisu you had some tragedy. Poor Seto losing his wife and daughter while also being estranged with his son. I'm glad to hear you feel inspired to write for them again. I guess I should say thank you and you're welcome as well lol.
Yeah, I barely remember the story of X and Y to be honest. I just remember it as the first game I got all Eeevelutions so I was super excited about that. I imagine it did get dull just battling with the same group of shinies all the time. I understand why you would prefer to battle with friends instead. I do agree a person's Pokemon team does reflect a lot about them and the kind of strategies they have. Certainly respect people using their personal preferences rather than simply picking the strongest Pokemon. Glad you at least can have a challenge against your brother tho.

As the title says this is a mixed dub. Atem is in English and Seto Japanese. So hope you don’t mind. But I do just love the duels in the movie…!
Sugirandom: Ahh, yes I thought when this started that he was using a simulation, dueling in a church does seem dramatic lol. I guess having it be dubbed subbed mix actually made it easier for me to pick up on it being the simulation too because of the disconnect. I don't mind too much, the duel is always epic and it's nice to hear the dub alongside the OG soundtrack instead of 4Kids' music. I really like
Atem's japanese voice though so I'd like to see the whole movie in Japanese one day. I feel like in Japanese Yuugi and Atem sounded more like the same person, he had the deeper voice and different vibe but the voices weren't so different that it felt like the voice was from two seperate bodies.. IDK if that makes sense, I guess it felt like it was easier to imagine that Yuugi was 'possessed' by Atem's spirit in the Japanese version to me.
IDK why I went on that tangent sorry, the CGI in the movie is nice too, it's blended it in nicely and not distracting like some Anime CGI can be! Thanks again for sharing!
