First prince week day 5: life or death DETECTIVES HUSBANDS AU The one where Alex and Henry go undercover together and Henry takes a bullet for Alex ANGST WITH A HAPPY ENDING I PROMISE

TW: for implied vomiting and fearing that you're going to die and mention of alcohol

Henry takes a sip of his beer and frowns at the man sitting next to him.

"So are you going to tell me what got you so pissed mate?" Henry asks, hoping he comes off as an interested friend instead of an interested undercover detective.

Chris sighs.

"Why am I so- I'll tell you why I'm f****** pissed. F***** snakes, I swear ****-"

It's as if Henry's whole world pauses for a second.

Of course, he knew going into this mission that he could get caught.

But the hypothetical is a lot less terrifying than the reality.

Henry presses his nails into his trembling hand forcing it to stop shaking, because he'll won't be able to deny the accusations and win back the trust of these bloody terrible people if he's shaking in fear.

He downs his beer which isn't a good choice because it makes him want to vomit from fear and adrenaline rather than drowning his anxiety.

He takes a deep breath.

At least Alex isn't with him right now.

Alex might be able to make it out of this mission alive. 

As long as he doesn't blow his cover when he finds out the people he's pretending to belong with murdered his husband.

Christ. Why did they ever agree to go on this mission?

They knew it was dangerous.

Much more so than the ones they've gone on in the past. (Not that they weren't terrifying in their own way).

But they figured they'd be fine as long as they faced the danger together.

Which was rather stupid, because Henry knows that if the situation were reversed and Alex was the one with the blown cover...

He knows there is no way in hell he'd be able to keep his cool and keep up his fake identity after finding out his husband had died.

But Alex is going to have to try because if he fails to keep his false identity his cover will be blown too.

And the only thing worse than knowing Henry is going to die right here surrounded by these bloody awful people he was so sure he was going to get to arrest, is knowing his death essentially caused his husband's death as well.

So he hopes with everything he's got that when  Alex finds out about Henry's death, he won't fall apart until after he's arrested these men.

Henry can only hope Alex won't let himself deal with his husband's death until he's at a safe place to do so.

A laugh catches Henry's attention and brings him back to reality. "Oliver? Are you good? You look like hell mate!"

First Henry thinks it's a trap but it doesn't take long to figure out the man has no clue Henry is one of those snakes he just cussed out.

Meaning someone else's cover got blown...

The realization comes crashing in on Henry and before he knows it he retches.

It's not his cover that got blown.

It's Alex's.

as Max Stan, I’m very confused to see some Charles stans getting angry over a paddle game with Max. I even saw one Stan who tagged him and said he lost all his ambitions and shame him for hang out with a guy from competitive team(he/she said practically same things when Charles congratulate Max for 3 WDC). I don’t know why some Charles stans hates Max and wants to believe Charles actually hates Max and Max just pressure him into friendship so much bc everyone is rival on this sport and Max never did anything wrong/petty toward Charles(beside 2019 but Charles took his revenge lol) even if you not a shipper. They can stay mad I guess.

Tho I am ADDICTED to the angstiness of this, even their guy realized he can be friends and can have fun together with the guy, even if they are each other's chosen rivals, without losing anything from his own self worth/respect or from his winning mentality. It is high time his fans too see that Max and Charles don't have to be hateful fucks to each other just because they both want to win against each other more than anything.

I don't understand where this mentality is coming from. I'd say people are reflecting their toxic masculine views about success upon Charles, but most of the fans talking like this are female identifying people... Then again, it can be an ingrained/learned thing.

Like, how can people not celebrate this actually? Here we have two athletes who are considered this generation's best, slowly getting closer and friendlier and having fun together. Isn't it something wonderful?

I know it is easier to talk for me because I am a Max fan and Max is winning. But even if the situation reverses itself in the future and they stay peaceful and nice and happy together while fighting tooth and nails, I would have admired it and cherish whatching it unfold as a fan of the sports, not just as a shipper or shit.

Also, do you see how most of these "Charles has gone soft/lost his competitive self/lost his winning mentality/should show his teeth" people are mainly focusing on his relationship with Max instead of focusing on how he should be more assertive within the team. It is almost like they are using Charles as yet again an instrument to hate on Max. If it wasn't Max, I bet they'd be more than okay about him hanging out with, say, Lewis or Daniel or Lando.

The guy doesn't have the car he needs. His killer instincts are still there. That's why Max says "I hope our dominance lasts as long as possible, because I know Ferrari (Charles) will be there at the first opportunity." He trusts Charles to be there, maybe his fans also should trust their guy, too.

I've seen a lot of people complaining about the episode SOJ à Cours Rumeur Cours , for me , it's my favorite episode of the season , by far . I've spent hours thinking about this episode and analyzing it, so I'd like to share my analysis of this episode by talking about the three characters most involved in the episode; Kaeloo, Mister Cat and Pretty:

First of all Kaeloo , many say she was ooc in this episode , I disagree : for me , Kaeloo was really happy to discover that M.Chat had listened to her advice from season 2 ( or even season 1 ? ) and that he FINALLY went to see a therapist . So happy that I think she wanted to tell everyone. I've always considered Kaeloo to be a mega-hypocritical character, and honestly I find her a lot less nice than most of the characters (yes, even Mister Cat), she always pulls her punches from behind and on top of that she's convinced she's right. What she sees as spreading little rumors as a game, in reality she's revealing Mister Cat's personal life (who, knowing the character, probably didn't really want this to get out). She's making light of it, and I think she's glad she was right, and that Mister Cat is "listening" for once. Also, the fact that Kaeloo doesn't need a shrink any more (I think she's feeling better this season), added to the fact that Mister Cat often teased her about it, I think she's unconsciously taking a little revenge. Yes, she made a mistake, and I think it's very much in character for her to have done so. Very interesting fact: Even Bad K doesn't agree with what she's doing. It reinforces the idea that even though from the start Kaeloo says she's the "cute" personality and Bad K is the "violent" personality, in reality Bad K is far less hypocritical than Kaeloo and doesn't hesitate to tell her so. The end is (unfortunately) deserved for Kaeloo (even if I would have liked a scene where Mister Cat tells her it's okay). (modifié)

Speaking of Mister Cat: first of all, I love the fact that he goes to the therapist with QQ, even though he'll never say it, he clearly needs emotional support, but he can't ask Kaeloo, because that would be admitting she was right all along in season 1. This episode shows how much Mister Cat trusts QQ (and I think that's really cool). When Kaeloo learns the truth, Mister Cat could have lied and made up a false excuse, but instead, QQ lies for him, which shows that QQ is willing to lie to Kaeloo to help Mister Cat (and that's really interesting). Then, Mister Cat isn't even angry at Kaeloo for spreading rumors, he's rather blasé? He knew she was going to do it, and he doesn't even blame her... Instead he reverses the situation to his advantage without even involving Kaeloo (which he could very well have done). For me, Mister Cat doesn't blame Kaeloo because he knows he's already done much worse, and it would be hypocritical to blame her. For me in this episode, he really didn't look good, he's blasé throughout the evening, except when he's on stage (but I think that's because he's trying to convince everyone that he hasn't changed by playing his usual role). But in any case, I thought he looked really out of sorts throughout the episode.

And finally Pretty! Maybe the most misunderstood character of the series ... ( in my humble opinion of course ) ... First of all I'd like to say that i think this is the first episode of season 5 where she's got a pretty big role, and that we didn't really get any explanation beforehand as to why she changed physically and mentally. I really think we should have had a transition episode where we saw her accept the fact that Eugly had left ... For me, Pretty suffered a lot from her sister's departure, she was probably the only person she could be herself with and trust (especially after her change of behavior towards her sister), they're twins! They've spent all their lives together, inseparable, and in any case, Pretty depended on Eugly a lot, more than Eugly depended on Pretty. Pretty must be taking her departure very hard. We can see that since season 4, despite the fact that she remained very superficial, Pretty had become increasingly kind to others. She was very chummy with Kaeloo and Moignon, and almost encouraged the Kaelat couple. Her change was certainly a little abrupt, but I found it rather natural. She went from being a self-centered bitch, to a superficial girl who looked after her sister, to a girl who tried to do her best.

That's why, when Kaeloo tells her that Mister Cat is going to see a therapist (and that it amuses Kaeloo to tell everyone), she doesn't really know how to react... whether fans like it or not, Pretty and Mister Cat are characters with similar evolutions. So when she learns that he's also trying to get better by going to the therapist, she puts herself in his shoes. She remains a bit of a bitch too, like criticizing Kaeloo's food (so her change is rather recent). She tries to help Mister Cat in this episode when she has no reason to do so, apart from the fact that she sympathizes with him, she's no more in love with him and doesn't owe him anything, so that's the only reason I can see.

Well it's very late and I put this text on google translate because I'm too tired to write properly, but anyway it's my favorite episode and it introduced the best trio that I had no idea i was going to like: QQ, Pretty and Mr. Cat ^^

Definitely long awaited and way bigger than I intended it to be so buckle up.

I started with all the normal jazz. Connecting with his energy and shit. Same as usual same old same old. Platform= same same. I was like, "hey, let's talk about your soulmate and the whole may 13th shit" and we connected via energy stringy thing to the forehead and such. I was intresting bc my end of the string was kinda my energy color! Neato. Looks like some rest has really done me good!

Okay, here's where I start actually asking shit. I made notes at this point before the reading as I usually do. I'm just gonna insert the screen shot here.

The 14 thing really fucked me up. You'll see later. Also, when I got the whole Pisces Jupiter thing I had to do me some googling bc we established that Jupiter went into Pisces ON May 13th so I was like?? Am I missing something?

I was. I forgot that it goes retrograde and then co.es back to Pisces on December 28th. And I do indeed think it to be significant.

The shit about temperance makes a lot of sense. In yoongis first soulmate read I flipped my shit bc he was like, "You're gonna get temperance reverse" in regards to a card for his soulmate and I was like "pft whatever. Don't play me like that"

And then I got temperance reverse. It's been a significant card from the jump.

I asked him if he had any advice for his soulmate and that's what "Don't wait for big things, you'll miss the small ones that lead you to bigger things" and "Look for facts before assuming" and "Don't try pushing it, forcing it won't make sense" and "A spade is a spade/ ace is an ace" and "Don't make ill informed guesses" all were

This ties back into the whole Jupiter thing too. The seeds are/ have been planted and now they have to grow before they can be harvested.

I can't quite decide if "Don't make ill informed guesses" was a tongue-in-cheek pike at me or if it was genuine advice to his soulmate? He just loves to not explain things.

Now let's begin the monster read.

So. The first row of cards

I asked the question, "what the fuck was May 13th and what was it's purpose in regards to your connection"

Important is what it was lol. I interpret this as them finding their footing and this being the starting point of the genuine foundation being layer. Like they've been manifesting eachother for a while but May 13th marked the start of them making the real life changes in their actual lives that will be the set up for them meeting.

The seven of coins is about thoughtful planning and creating security/ stable plan. The tower is essentially ripping away anything and everything that was built on unstable foundation and challenging/ testing your character (an extremely rude awakeing if you will). Judgement is releasing the past so you can rise above it and confronting yourself as you are (Also legit awakening) the queen of coins is financial security and self confidence in your abilities. Ten of coins is prosperity and abundance and most of all, stability. Eight of wands is explosion of potential and rapid movement. Temperance is awareness and balance between physical and spiritual. It's also that quiet peace where you find balance.

So. Seeing all those cards it really does seem like maybe his soulmate took on something new that could lead straight to union? Same for yoongi. I'd like to analyze and recent or new-ish habits or hobbies he's picked up?

Moving right along though. I asked what the 13th did for each of them in their personal life and personal journey. Kinda like what came as a result of that energy? Let's start with yoongles

This was really intresting to me. I think he definitely gained some form of clarity about the situation with that sun card. The 5 of cups tells me that either he was kinda forced to confront some of his flaws in a way that he was trying to avoid or he had to consciously let go of something dear to him? Could be something he had to leave behind because it crumbled with the tower moment but he didn't see it coming or didn't know that it was time to part with it? With that queen of wands though fits beautifully with the sun! Its like he's found warmth after a long winter. Definitely found a spark of compassion and generosity from a place of happiness and love rather than anger, fear, obligation or pitty.

I asked for clarity cards/ anything else that may 13th signified bringing in and we got the 2 of cups and 10 of swords. I have two thoughts. Either he let go of a relationship that he was already in because he didn't feel as though they were particularly compatible anymore (Also ties into the above section) OR the 13th had made him very much consciously aware of his soulmates incoming status and he is now preparing and working on himself for when this person comes. The 10 of swords would be him releasing the past and the pain and any ill fitting behavior that don't vibe with him any longer. Yellow really seems to be working for him by the way.

Soulmate time

Lol. All signs point to his soulmate genuinely starting a new venture. New creative pursuit that will bring them good money. 10 of pentacles is abundance, prosperity and stability. The ace of wands is a new creative spark and passion and it's the first big steps into something new. The 2 of wands is "the world is in the palm of your hands" vibes. Choices need to be made swiftly and with the ace of wands I think they will be. With the heirophant too, it will be a well informed decision because they've been manifesting this and has been searching for all the possible information.

As for clarity, we have the moon. Damn. Soulmates been doing that shadow work. Dredging up all their bullshit and getting rid of it while still taking the time to sit with it and release it so nothing is unresolved. Also probably extra creative due to all the emotional baggage being thrown out. (Definitely helping with the ace of wands vibes tbh)

Now for the bad boys in the middle

The question I asked is what those individual changes (detailed in the last two sections) will bring for the bond and I just can with them. These fuckers. I am so invested in their love story bc it's so... them? And just so fucking ROMANTIC. UGH I CAN'T.

For the row of bottom cards

I asked if they had anything at all to add so I'm gonna explain each card individually bc I think they could be individual tid bits of shit.

Knight of coins is good news about finances/ money looking promising and organized work (also dependability!!). Death is all about transformation, the beginning of a new chapter and accepting in order to move foward. Ace of coins is spiritual and material abundance and also a reminder to keep grounded. Page of swords is confidence, important news coming and really good insight! Roots out secrets or hidden things like a truffle pig. The star is promising potential, healing and guidance from an enexpected place. The two of cups is a soul connection, love, intuition especially in regards to another person and a good bind. The emperor is self awareness, foresight, fearlessness to achieve a goal and confidence. Eight of coins rev is poor discipline and skating by on low effort.

Now to the sides!

Yoongi is the left, soulmate is the right.

So, let's begin with yoongi. The first two cards are anything he wants to say to his soulmate. Wheel of fortune and three of swords reverse. I take this as "its all in divine time/ it's destiny" (wheel of fortune) and "trust your intuition. It's okay to get hurt, you just need to remember you can always pick yourself up" (3of swords rev.)

We have now cards that I asked what he was learning through this process/ in this time. Be positive and first step.

The last two cards are affirmations he wants to give his soulmate.

My dude dropped a little marble thing in my hand and I was like ??? And he was like, "you'll know when you need it" and I was like ?????

My guide took pity on me and said, "it's just a representation on information that you've been given but it isn't the proper time to unpack it yet"

My main take away is that amay 13th through July 28th will be all the foundation and ground work and December 28th 2021 through May 10th (11th? 9th?) 2022 will be a more likely time for physical union and actual relationship stuffs.

I heard this sentiment expressed before and honestly, mood, but I'm not sure 'm the right person for that.

I'm the guy who creates problems, not the one who solves them. My approach to writing is: wouldn't it be fucked up if... The answer is: yes, it would, and here's how. I used to offer people send me their headcanons and I will make all of them sad. I've done it too, even something as innocuous as Jason and Cassandra's respective height.

So I guess what you and others are looking for, is: what's been in the messages? And what's next?

Well, I still have no idea what's in the messages except a total meltdown. And what's next is Jason tries to disappear in Gotham.

You know how it is. You go home after being miraculously resurrected ten years after you died. You find out that your family moved on. They look happy, the whole bunch of them on a family portrait. Jason has never been on a family portrait. Not a painted and hanged in the living room one, at least. Didn't quite make it.

Duke is a good dude, the thing is. Jason doesn't think he would have handled the things with as much grace as he did if the situation was reversed. And he seems to get along with others, so Jason assumes they're good people as well.

But where does it leave Jason? Should he – should he have stayed? So what if his dad moved on. After his mom died, didn't Jason move on? To Bruce? He didn't say, he loved Catherine so much, he will remain an orphan in her memory forever.

No, he chose to stay with Bruce. And then left to look for Sheila. Anything to fill this hole inside. Were those kids just filling a hole for Bruce? Is that why so many, because they weren't enough – wasn’t Jason?

Or was Jason just a filler as well?

Does it matter? He left Manor a week before he died. That he met Bruce in Africa was a coincidence. Joker was nearby. If Joker wasn't there, neither would be Bruce.

And he wouldn't have been betrayed by Sheila – at least, in that fashion. Maybe Jason just isn't someone who inspires long-term parenting effort. Jason wishes good luck to Duke and the others.

And he, well, has to make his own way. Like always. Just like he planned when he left.

What exactly was he thinking? It's hard to remember even if it was a week ago in Jason's perception. He had gone to where it started, to Park Row. But this, now, is a bad choice. If Bruce starts looking for him, that's the first place he will check. And he will: if nothing else, people don't just raise from the graves. He might think Jason is a vampire, or a robot, or an evil clone – a threat. If Jason can't explain how he was brought back, he will forever remain a liability to him. That's just how Batman works.

Or, if Bruce doesn’t start looking... Jason prefers not to know that.

So instead of Park Row, he goes for the Hills. They've been doing good, those years Jason missed. The neighborhood feels shiny-clean. There are more trees than he is used to seeing in Gotham, small businesses thrive, from the looks of it. If gangs are still around, they've evolved too. There are no tags anywhere, and passersby aren't wearing any particular color.

His understanding of the city and how it functions is seriously outdated. He can't even think about patrolling by himself for the foreseeable future. Though maybe he doesn't have to? It feels safe.

Maybe, a stray, dangerous thought creeps upon him; maybe his death was what changed things because he doesn't know anything else that could.

He needs someone he trusts to bring him up to speed. He needs... a friend.

With how unfamiliar things are, it's even worse when Jason finds similarities. The diner is at the same place as when he's been washing dishes here for the leftovers. But it's been renovated. It looks retro instead of old, and Jason's sneakers don't stick to the floor. A robot is washing the floor. A robot.

The position of the seats didn't change, but in the section where Gabbie used to wait, a girl with red hair takes orders instead. Her sides are shaved off; it looks so cool Jason stand staring at her for several moments.

"Can I help you?"

Jason shakes his head before he can think. It's the changes: they cemented the realization that he really was gone those ten years, but the city stayed, and evolved. It makes him feel off-kilter, and he's fumbling for words.

“Is – is Gabbie here? She used to work here, I don’t know if she's still around.”

He doesn't hold out much hope, because, well, what are the chances? Besides, if she moved on to a better place, maybe a restaurant uptown where people like Bruce could tip you more than you make per shift, that would be a good thing.

Even if Jason doesn't know where else to go.

The girl – her badge reads 'Sasha' – looks him up and down with suspicion, which, seems like Gotham didn't change that much.

"She's going to be here in the evening," Sasha says.

"I'll be back before closing. Tell her... Tell her it's Jason."

The girl's eyes follow him to the exit. When Jason looks back, he sees her texting, presumably to Gabbie.

With still some hours to kill, Jason goes to the library. Computers now need a card to log in, and he swipes one from a girl who's napping on a coach. He will return it if she's still there when he's done. If not, he will leave it at Lost & Found.

He doesn't want to set off any alarms by googling his name, Bruce, or Joker. He reads the latest news: wow, the global ecology is worse than ever. Maybe Ra's is onto something, but it’s funny how he does nothing to really address the issue. As far as Jason remembers, only Poison Ivy did, but not in a way that's survivable by humans. So he's not exactly a fan.

Among other things, Jason was just lucky enough not to live through Luthor’s presidency. He wonders if he can vote now. Based on his birth certificate, he's old enough. He could have run for City Council if anyone would believe he's 25.

He switches to local news. And what do you think? An election was coming up. And... That is his friend Max right here, in the running. Jason closes the tab, suddenly shivering.

When opens the search bar again. It's a good thing, he tells himself. Don't make it weird. Jason writes down the address of his office – Max is a lawyer now, just like he always wanted. And this makes Jason check out the other names he still remembers.

Chris – no hits except social media, but most of the pages have privacy settings, and he can't figure out if it's him or not on half of the profiles because of low-resolution photos and last seeing him about 13 years ago, chronologically.

He can't find Numbers, by his full name or nickname. He probably left Gotham – always wanted to. Jason tables it for now.

Dana has a page on LinkedIn. LinkedIn is still around. Jason doesn’t know what’s more surprising. And depressing. No, he corrects himself, it’s good. It’s great. She graduated and seems to have a great career in marketing? PR? Something like that. And apparently it paid good enough for her to retire early.

Her sister, Denise Harlow, is now a local news star. Jason clicks and watches a short report on – you won’t believe it – a footwear fashion line inspired by various Gotham villains. Ugh. Next.

Eddie Bloomberg. That gets results, and pretty quick.

Jason doesn't watch his tape. He can't. Nobody should have – how could Lois even?.. Who did this, is that the same guy who killed them? Was he caught? And... Yes, apparently. If you believe the linked "If you liked it, check out..." article. The name of the killer is not mentioned. A part of his deal with State. Confessed and everything. Got put in Belle Reeve. Broke out from there, because of course he had.

For all the things that changed in Gotham, some things are the same in the world.

He breaks away from the computer. Leaves the card back with the girl. The next part of the research could be done through the classifieds in the paper.

The second part of the research is finding shady listings for room to rent, or jobs with housing – he thinks he can get better chances with construction. Something is always being built in Gotham because something always is destroyed in Gotham. And a lot of foremen won't take an issue with paying someone under the table. Though would they be willing with Jason looking the way he is – he is strong, can bench press his weight, but he doesn't look like it.

He marks the ones that look promising. He has no way to call if he doesn't want to go back to the Manor, see if there are any things like his old cell in storage. Anyway, his sim card probably expired.

He has no way to get a new one until after he finds a job and does the job until payday.

He goes back to the diner – it's maybe three hours until the closing time. He doesn't see Gabbie in there, but his new friend Sasha is behind the counter now. The tiny speakers croon as he goes near: "Beliye rosy, beliye rosy...".

"Okay," he says instead of hello, sitting down. "I know I've been out of town for a while but is the Russian mafia running the Hills now?"

"Do you really think they would listen to an early nineties Justin Bieber equivalent?"

"Uh, I think you meant Justin Timberlake."

Sasha looks at him wrong – like he is wrong.

"I'm pretty sure I didn't."

She gets distracted by a real paying customer, but when the peach pie/money exchange is done, she shows him the video on her smartphone.

"I mean," Jason tries to come up with words. "He seems nice."

"Sure," Sasha snorts. "If you like that kind of thing."

"But you like early nineties Russian pop?"

"I grew up on that shit. My mom..."

Sasha closes off, and Jason feels a pang.

"Sorry."

Gabbie has great timing. She comes in exactly when the pause becomes awkward.

"You know," she says after hanging her jacket. "When Sasha said a Jason is looking for me, you weren't my first guess."

"I guess it's been a while," Jason says, rubbing his neck.

"Then she described that Jason, and still. You weren't even in the top five."

"Come on! I haven't changed that much."

"No, you haven't changed at all. Smoking stunted your growth?"

"Haven't been eating my greens."

She hugs him and Jason freezes. She quickly lets him go and looks him over again like she can’t quite believe she’s seeing him.

"It's good to see you, Jason."

"Yeah. Me too. How have you been?"

"Still at the diner. But now, I am the manager."

"Congratulations! And here I was, thinking of how to convince you to talk to your boss. About me maybe having a job here? The old deal. I do everything you ask me..."

"And I'm feeding you and don't ask questions. But you can apply normally now. Get paid with actual money and everything."

"Uh. I don't exactly have an ID. Or... Any documents. Or a school degree."

"Ok, watch me not ask you questions but now I really, really want to. Ok, when do you wish to start?"

"Sometimes before dinner."

Gabbie sighs and ruffles his hair.

“Okay, let’s get some food in you, and then we’ll talk.”

When the food is ready and Sasha brings it out, it’s about the time for closing. Gabbie waves Sasha away, saying she will close up herself.

“This one will help me clean up, don’t worry,” she says, hooking her thumb at Jason.

Sasha nods, but when she is near the doors, she calls Gabbie again.

“Text me later, when you’re done,” she says. “I want to go over the schedule if there are changes.”

She looks at Jason when she’s saying it, and Jason gets it. It’s not really the shifts that are a concern to her, more like Jason himself. He guesses she’s been in Gotham long enough.

“So,” Gabbie says to Jason when they’re finally alone. “What the hell?”

“Well,” Jason stops chewing for a moment. “Rumors of my death…”

Gabbie points a finger in his face. But whatever criticism she had regarding Jason’s sense of humor, she stops short when the doorbell over the entrance rings.

“Jason,” Bruce says.

Jason puts down his burger. Wipes his fingers off. Grips the table.

He doesn’t turn around, not yet.

“Jason, is that really you?”

Gabbie stands up, placing one hand on the table, closer to the cutlery.

“Mr. Wayne,” she says in a warning.

“Jason.”

“It’s okay,” Jason places his hand over Gabbie’s, briefly.

She looks ready to fight the local billionaire/crime-fighting legend, and it warms Jason much better than this freshly cooked dinner.

Or maybe it’s the voice – the desperation, the sheer need for it to be real, that he hears from Bruce when he calls Jason’s name. He remembers it. He didn’t forget him. He went looking. He cares.

Jason says, “Dad,” slowly turning around, but he doesn’t even have time to look up before he is engulfed in a hug.

“Don’t,” Bruce says, chocked, when Jason tries to put some distance just to breathe. “Don’t run away ever again.”

Jason is aware that he’s crying. That’s basically the main reason why he stops struggling and hugs Bruce back.

“So,” Gabbie says slowly. “Do you still need that job?”

“No,” Bruce says. “I will take it from here.”

“Yeah,” Jason says. “I do.”

It will take too long to explain, and with Gabbie here, talking about everything could be awkward.

Jason wipes his tears on Bruce’s shirt and half-frees himself out of the clutches, enough to look at Gabbie over his shoulder.

“Can you give me your phone number?”

“Sure,” Gabbie grabs a napkin and a pen out of her pocket.

She scribbles fast on it and looks at Bruce for a second before giving the napkin to Jason.

Bruce makes an abrupt motion like he wants to take it instead.

“You’re coming home with me,” he says instead, half-order and half asking for reassurance.

Jason punches him lightly in the shoulder instead of answering.

“Text me tonight,” Gabbie says. “You still owe me some explanations.”

Jason nods, before basically dragging Bruce out. He notices Bruce glaring at Gabbie and her glaring back.

“Okay,” he says when they’re finally out on the street. “Where did you park?”

“Where did I - Jason,” Bruce takes his hand and plants himself in the middle of a sidewalk. “You just - how are you back? When?.. Why didn’t you stay, or told Duke, or called…”

“Okay,” Jason says. “Listen. Listen. I know this looks bad. I guess I wasn’t thinking straight yet. This is wierd for me. And mildly traumatic. I never thought I’m going to live through - you know. And I guess I didn’t? And when bam, I’m back but also, in a mortal peril still. I thought I was going to suffocate! I thought it was one of his schemes!”

“Jason. Are you – the grave, it’s been disturbed. Did you… dig yourself out today?”

“Well. What did you think happened? It’s not like someone just could have dug me out and dunked me in your father-in-law’s magical fountain of youth. Come on, let’s talk about it in the car.”

He drags Bruce, he doesn’t even care where he’s parked anymore, but they can’t just stand in the middle of the sidewalk and talk about coming back from dead. No need for zombie panic on this nice evening.

“You’re coming home?” Bruce asks.

Doofus. Of course, Jason is coming home.

“No,” he rolls his eyes. “I want to go clubbing. I’m sure you won’t cramp my style too much, and you’re paying for the drinks.”

“No, I won’t.” Bruce turns him around and they finally, finally, go to where the car is.

“I am twenty-five, you know,” Jason mumbles.

“I know. I bought a present for each birthday and hid them all in your room.”

Jason swallows. That’s.

Thank god someone attacks, and he doesn’t need to react to this disturbing yet flattering statement.

The Guardian Alya Theory

Hi! Didn't expect to be writing Miraculous theory again so quickly, but I have an idea in my head that I needed to get out there. So hear me out.

Warning: major spoilers for Season 4 all throughout this theory. Specifically Gang of Secrets, Optigami, Truth, Furious Fu, Mr Pigeon 72... just, most of them.

In short, the theory is this: Marinette will discover that she can't be both Ladybug and the Guardian at the same time, and will make Alya the Guardian. Marinette's memory will be wiped and she will spend a few episodes re-learning how to be Ladybug, and re-learning Chat Noir, which will obviously change their relationship.

This means Alya will know who Chat Noir is. And I think, for a brief time before her memory is wiped, Marinette will know as well. Meaning: temporary one-sided reveal!

Now, here's all the evidence, below the cut.

There's a fundamental problem with Ladybug and the Guardian being the same person. There's the stress it places on Marinette, sure, and the Guardian certainly can have a Miraculous and use it, but the problem is right here:

Someone has to be the link between civilian identities, and right now Plagg and Tikki are the only ones who know- and that's useless when both heros are transformed. The Guardian needs to know the identity of both Ladybug and Chat Noir. And if there's one thing that the show has absolutely beaten into us by now...

It's that they can't know each others.

So, there's a fundamental tension here. Marinette is currently putting all of her focus on being the Guardian, on working with the kwamis and figuring things out about the Miracle Box; and as her plans increasingly involve her role as Guardian, using kwamis or the fact that Alya knows her civilian identity, she's not quite being Ladybug properly. She's not doing right by Chat Noir, because now, as her plans are increasingly involving things she as Marinette and/or she as the Guardian have access to, and Chat Noir is not knowingly included in either of those, he is being ousted. It turns out she still needs him (or Plagg, in Mr Pigeon 72) for her plans, but her relationship with him is suffering.

He says in Truth that he doesn't mind her being the Guardian as long as it doesn't change things between them:

Except it is changing, and it has been bothering him. Just look at his face when he realises (or more accurately, assumes) the akuma has been defeated without him in Optigami:

He is not happy.

I'm sure I don't need to tell anyone at this point that Ladybug is ousting Chat Noir and he's upset by it. At this point in the series he's doing okay about it, still managing to keep up a front and hoping this is temporary. Which, according to this theory, it is. Honestly, no matter how this goes, it's not going to make Chat happy, because in this theory, the ending won't please him. We'll get to that.

So Marinette can't be Guardian and Ladybug at the same time. So, she has to give one up.

She may try to give up being Ladybug, but I'm not convinced this will happen. She may try to give over guardianship to Su Han, but I'm also not convinced by this- it's not narratively interesting and seems to contradict the conclusion of Furious Fu. So, what might she do?

Well, there's a clear answer. Someone who's already helping figure out important features of the Miraculouses, who was able to figure out a whole new power of the Ladybug Miraculous:

And who has good investigative powers to reveal more secrets? Who is already heavily invested in the superheros? Who already knows that Marinette is Ladybug and is already helping her?

And who has Marinette possibly already said she's training up to be Guardian?

Now, whether she's reffering to being Ladybug or being the Guardian here is unclear. I've seen most interpretations suggesting she means Ladybug, and from the wording in this case it honestly seems like both; but it could definitely be either. And in the context of this theory, if we assume she means Guardian, then it's clear that Marinette is already noticing that Alya would make a good Guardian.

So, let's put the pieces together.

Premise: Ladybug and Chat Noir cannot know each other's identity until this Hawkmoth is defeated. Premise: The Guardian must know both Ladybug and Chat Noir's identity. Conclusion: Ladybug and the Guardian cannot be the same person at this point in time. (Chat Noir can't be either).

Premise: Ladybug and the Guardian cannot be the same person at this point in time. Premise: Alya would be a good Guardian. Premise: Marinette either will not, or should not, give up being Ladybug. Conclusion: Marinette will make Alya the Guardian.

There are two complications with this plan. One is in Alya being the Guardian, and one is in Marinette giving it up.

The complication with Alya being the guardian is that Hawkmoth knows her identity. He knows she's Rena Rouge, and as of Optigami knows that Rena Rouge is special as opposed to the other holders. This appears to not be stopping Marinette giving her the Miraculous, but obviously, based on the events of late season 3, it's more of a complication in her being the Guardian. She has, like, parents, and can't hide like Master Fu could.

A possible solution is some kind of trickery, in which they make it look like Alya has lost her miraculous, and make it seem like Ladybug's still the Guardian. I mean, Alya's miraculous is illusion-based, and this could be interesting if it's post one-sided reveal discussed below. I'm sure there are other solutions as well, but off the top of my head I'd assume that would be the plan. Perhaps the Box is camoflaged such that finding out what of Alya's is the Miracle Box at all would be a challenge. There's a lot of possibility.

The other complication: Marinette would lose all memory of the Miraculouses.

Now, it's presumed here that the way the memory loss works is that it happens every time (and it's not like the appearance of the box, or kwamis being in/out of it, in that it's a factor of what the owner believes), and that the memory loss only applies to the Miraculouses and the kwamis and all of that, and doesn't affect other memories- which seems to be Fu's experience of it, after all. He doesn't remember Marinette because he only ever knew her as Ladybug, but he seemed to remember the unrelated Marianne fine.

This means that if Marinette loses guardianship, she'll remember Alya, Adrien, her family, etc... but nothing about Ladybug, Chat Noir, Hawkmoth, Tikki, any of that.

Which means:

-She'll have to spend some amount of time re-learning how to be Ladybug, who Chat Noir is, etc. all of that. Chat Noir will probably be able to fill her in on all of this, and so will Alya and Tikki, so it won't take so long.

-She gets a total reset on her relationship with Chat Noir. Which I highly doubt he'll be happy with- but it might change her view of him. I say it might change her view of him because mainly, while their relationship has been pretty consistent, she definitely is starting to like him more in this season, seeing him differently- and I largely think that that's due to a change in circumstance, as Marinette can only trust so many people in her life:

But I think an important part of Adrien's character recently is that we've seen less dichotomy between Adrien and Chat Noir. His true personality is a little of both, but he puts both on to play various roles; but honestly, I've noticed some more of Adrien in Chat Noir, and some more of Chat Noir in Adrien. He's being more honest with himself around some people, the self we only really see him being with Plagg, which he was trying to be with Kagami and is increasingly being with Marinette. It's hard to provide specific examples, though.

But if Marinette's first impressions of Chat Noir are just a touch more Adrien-like than they were, perhaps her feelings towards him will change- without losing that aspect of trust. I know I'm being very vague here, but there's a lot of potential and it'll take a lot more episodes of this season than we've seen to predict how this might go.

It's also possible that Marinette will remember Chat Noir when she met him as Marinette. Then we might get some great Marichat, or her only having knowledge of him as that boy who came to her ledge or she fake-dated. Which would be interesting. It's not totally clear how this will work if it occurs, so it's up to the writers really.

So that situation provides a lot of angst: Ladybug forgetting Chat Noir. But what comes before her forgetting Chat Noir could be something really interesting. After all, if the Guardian must know Chat Noir's identity, perhaps Marinette will try that first. Adrien will, of course, trust her completely.

Cue at least one episode where Marinette knows that Chat Noir and Adrien are the same person (while Adrien not knowing the reverse). Cue Ladrien. And, right after that, an episode that revolves around Ladybug erasing those memories. While Alya knows everything that just happened. And that Chat Noir is Adrien. And she can't tell Marinette this as she has to re-teach her how to be Ladybug. Honestly, if any character knows what we as the audience know about the Love Square, it makes perfect sense that it's Alya.

In conclusion: angsty season finale that ends with Alya knowing everything, Chat Noir Very Upset, Ladybug getting a memory reset, and just generally everything changing? It's more likely than you think.

sssooo, I had once ranted about it though not mentioning the thing I mentioned in those tags so lemme see if I can find the op and like... cp the main argument and amend it bc it was long, but okay so I found it, original anon asked me: why is Jon considered to be one of the most special characters grrm created? Why is he not the typical hero of fantasy books?, my original answer was here if anyone wants to go there but basically lemme just cp the first part making it shorter and then I'm adding:

first thing, the Typical Post-Tolkien Chosen One With A Shitty Life Before He Finds Out He Is Chosen™ character (I’m saying post-tolkien because every fantasy writer in existence who copies tolkien thinks that lotr went like that and instead it didn’t) usually goes through the following steps: his life sucks up until the beginning of the series, his family generally hates him/her or doesn’t appreciate them or abuses them or anyway doesn’t make their life easier and they’ve never known any different, but *something* never quite worked right and they always knew something was missing in their life, they just didn’t know why. suddenly someone who knows they were Chosen™ shows up and tells them that they’re actually Special because of this this and that and they have a quest to go on to save the world or something. our hero/heroine obviously is finally validated and while their quest is hard and full of hardships and maybe they lose a few friends along the way, finding out that they were Chosen gives their life meaning, they usually find love/friends/everything they didn’t have before until they fulfill the Prophecy™ and live more or less happily ever after, possibly after hooking up with the Person Of Their Dreams with whom they had UST up until the last twenty pages of the book. basically: being Chosen™ in regular fantasy novels is a good thing because suddenly you’re special and all the crap you suffered acquires a new meaning and in the end it made your life better.

jon snow is a complete overhaul of about everything in this sense because

instead of having a family who hates him he has a family who actually mostly loves him, and with ned it’s arguably so much that he risks royal treason by keeping him hidden from his *best friend* - sure, there’s cat and peripherally sansa, but his issues stem from the fact that he feels lesser because he’s a bastard (as far as he knows) and it’s a *class* issue, not a *my family hates me* issue not counting catelyn obv but that's what gives him freudian issues more on that in the emended part later

no one actually knows that he’s Chosen™ - like mel could get there and probably will and someone will put two and two together when his parentage comes out in the open, but he doesn’t have a gandalf or mentor who shows him The Way Towards His Quest

so instead of going from ‘my life sucks but I’m going on a quest which is gonna be a+’ he actively chooses to leave a fairly decent situation (a household he knows, siblings who love him - ned actually hoped he’d become robb’s counselor or right hand man or something from what we can gather) because he feels like he has to prove he’s better than his name and goes to the Crappiest Place In Westeros. like idk if people grasp it, but the wall is basically a prison and at the ripe age of fourteen he decides that it’s totally a good and honorable choice (his only choice actually) to go defend the realm in the freezing cold along with a bunch of criminals/derelicts/rejects of society

at which point he makes friends among said rejects and let’s remember that it’s the point where he actually has to do his first an only privilege when donal noye made him go like hey you were brought up with nobles these ppl are here because they stole bread, and that helps making him more into the person he is rn but like your tyopical fantasy hero who has had a shitty life doesn’t usually have to acknowledge that other people might have had it worse

then he goes on the Quest where he finds his first One True Love, and that’s where it turns even worse because usually the quest is where things start to go right for the Hero™, instead for jon they start to go wronger, because first he has to go undercover which pretty much tests most of his belief/code system, he falls in love with a girl he has to betray, half of his friends and his lord commander die along the way, while he’s off doing his thing winterfell gets taken/burned and robb dies when jon openly stated that he also was going to the wall to defend his family and keep them safe (yeaaah worked out real well), when he goes back to the wall he has to fight the people he lived with for months, the woman he loves dies in his arms and he can’t do anything about it and he’s aware it couldn’t have gone any other way, people put defending the wall on him and then put his loyalty in question, when stannis shows up with a legitimization (which is everything he ever wanted) he refuses because he doesn’t want to accidentally steal his siblings’s inheritance (which was what cat was so worried about hahaha) and actively chooses the crappy defending the realm life all over again. also in all this time his being Chosen™ hasn’t manifested or helped him in any way whatsoever - actually all his honor-moral code related baggage is what  moral dilemmas come from that. like, your usual chosen hero™ would always take the right decision and it all turns out good eventually, jon takes the morally right decision and it all turns SOUR eventually

at this point he finally gets elected LC, thanks to his friends also pitching in, which is about the one fantasy hero™ thing that’s happened for now. should be good, yes?

lol no, because he ends up with THAT hellish responsibility at sixteen, since he thinks that he has absolutely to be even better than that now and he has very specific notions about how you should lead and he knows he has to take unpopular decisions/decisions that he doesn’t necessarily like, he ends up either having to send his friends away forreal (sam) or detaching from them (pyp/grenn/the likes) and when as far as he knows he learns that his sister is married to ramsay he can’t do anything about it

never mind that it’s the same situation as when he had to pick the watch or robb in book one - he went there to defend his family and now being there actually prevents him from helping them in person. ops. meanwhile he’s trying to implement a new vision of things which is modern and smart and actually makes sense because why fighting the wildlings when you have ZOMBIES coming. your usual Chosen One™ would get people to approve just because he’s the Chosen One

instead jon gets stabbed to death - okay, that was also because he wanted to go get arya but it was the last straw, people were pissed over the wildlings plan first and foremost

so basically he’s gone through all the Chosen One™ steps but in reverse - he loses his family which did love him instead of finding another one that makes the first pale in comparison, he does find a new one who loves him but has to alienate most of its members for responsibility reasons as a consequence of what should have been the crowning achievement of his life choices (which eventually is NOT one), he falls in love and they don’t drag the UST forever but they never get a chance to be together without small print in between, he chooses the admittedly most masochistic life he could for his family as well and half of them die and he can’t do a thing for the other half, every other mentor-like figure he runs into after ned dies, instead of finding validation he ends up having to isolate himself and on top of everything HE STILL DOESN’T FUCKING KNOW HE’S THE CHOSEN ONE™

so instead of his life going better the more he learns stuff and matures as a person, he gets murdered. by the people he trusts and who were supposed to be his new family. haha?

never mind that when he finds out he’s the Chosen One™ it won’t bring him closure because all he ever wanted was being full stark like his father/siblings and then bam he’s going to find out his father’s actually targaryen and what does that even mean to him?

on top of that being AA will just be a pain because I don’t believe for a second he’s not going to get leftover ptsd and who the hell is gonna help him deal with it? or how is he ever getting over his *brothers* murdering him? and people are going to ask stuff of him all over again and he’s gonna have to go slay a mythical monster and if I know grrm it’s not gonna be fun, pretty or cathartic FOR HIM

on top of that, Chosen Hero™ fulfills the prophecy and gets a realm to rule and everyone lives happily ever after. money is that if jon does get that realm (and I think he is because he has the best claim if he's legitimate and most likely it'll turn out he was on the targ side but ROBB also legitimized him so he has double the legitimization), he’s going to hate every second of it and he’ll take it because a) duty, b) literally no one else is available, and like this guy didn’t want to rule a realm or be a king or anything he just wanted to be a stark, and instead he’s going to have to after all that shit thanks to Magical And Noble Heritage he hadn’t even known he had and probably didn’t even want up to that point because since when jon wanted to be a targ? yeah since never

obviously I hope he manages to be somewhat happy regardless because the alternative is too miserable, but basically being a Chosen Hero™ is what makes jon’s life worse rather than better and the fact that hew went through all the regular self-discovery journey for the fantasy hero list doesn’t mean he’s not flipping that over in his sl. the fact that he stayed a decent person more or less throughout it and that he hasn’t turned into a bitter asshole also doesn’t change the main point XD

tldr: jon snow is not a typical fantasy hero because he deconstructs that trope into tiny little bits same as robb deconstructed the arthurian flawless king hero trope

okay so... there is a certain tendency to also make the chosen one™ special in the sense that he's kind of goals - good looking, rich or set to inherit, gallant, takes the initiative, he's like.. social or anyway immediately makes friends etc and all that jazz which jon... doesn't really fit

like jon is an introvert who immediately makes friends just with outcasts and his siblings also bc he feels like one but he's hardly a social butterfly and charms everyone wherever he walks by

I mean ffs says all that the only person he charmed in that sense is stannis who is the literal only person in charge in the books who is more introvert than him and has worse communication issues and appreciates ppl going straight to the point

on top of that in the book he looks like ned.... and arya looks like ned and ned isn't described as being particularly handsome that was brandon so he's not even like... I mean kit h. is v. pretty and I think he was a good choice for the role and I'll die on the hill that he was born to play that character and he did it well but book!jon doesn't have that kinda pretty face so the concept that he's the HOT alternative to anyone to me is kind of iffy bc he's not

he's shit at social interactions and at PR which is why robb and him would have been a key winning ticket like he has a better idea of the larger picture but robb would have actually made sure ppl didn't turn against them bc he actually was good at that but like he doesn't go around rallying armies in his name does he

the one time he's been with a girl it was ygritte and like he courted her without realizing it and then she had to pursue him and he barely knew wtf to do on top of the fact that they slept with ghost in the middle of them like a sword which..... is.... I mean sleeping with the sword in the middle was a thing to make sure the maiden stayed a maiden and he's the one who is like i CAN'T HAVE SEX WITH HER EVEN IF I WANT TO BECAUSE I'M TECHNICALLY SPYING ON THEM like... he's not... gallant-knight coded

we can also add that he's not automatically above being better than his position like... he doesn't take winterfell bc ygritte is dead but he did think he'd have taken the deal sansa or not if stannis had said he could marry her and not val and if she wasn't dead, he basically went off the rails at the dude he was fighting with thinking about robb telling him that he couldn't be lord of wf because he was a bastard and he's absolutely not in the frame of mind of 'well I was born a bastard who cares it doesn't define me'

he's obsessed to the point of unhealthy with actually being defined by it which is why he was better off with the wildlings aka the only idiots in the realm who don't gaf about that

and that's like... I mean usually if chosen ones™ have parental issues it's like 'you were an orphan and raised by asses who weren't your parents but your parents loved you and you'll find out at some point and you'll be happier for it and make your own family', jon is like... he has the mommy freudian issues of the century bc of how cat treated him, on the other side he's obsessed with living up to ned's/his father's name and he hates that it makes him not-belonging or that he feels like he doesn't even if he does with his siblings, and at the same time when the truth about it comes out he's going to get the cold shower of the century bc like - he's spent all that time thinking BUT DID MY MOTHER WANT ME WHO WAS MY MOTHER and he's going to find out of who it was and how he was born and honestly considering that lyanna most likely did regret running with rhaegar the moment he finds that out and that she died birthing him how is he going to feel? - also he spends his life wanting to live up to his 'father's' name aka ned aka someone known to be honorable to a fault and then it turns out his bio father is... the dude who started that entire rebellion not doing a very honorable thing? - also if jon*erys is a thing idt that he'd take 'I fell in love with my aunt' so nonchalantly as he did in the show tldr: he's never gonna get over his parental issues in a short time and when that particular brick hits him in the face it won't be pretty

like the entire point of jon is that he goes through all the chosenone™ cursus honorum as we'd call it in high school when studying latin but each step that means smth good for the usual chosenone™ to him is something bad, being one is not going to make his life better and throughout the entire thing he does not fit that stereotype when it comes to look, personality, basic traits and familial history and like hell he's going to have the happy ending tied up with the bow - like I think he gets a bittersweet one and eventually goes off with the wildlings bc he belongs there after being jon snow first of his name (bc like hell he's not reclaiming his bastard background at the end of this entire mess I'm eating my hat if he doesn't) after splitting the seven realms and fixing things but that's hardly the neat happy ending the chosenone™ usually gets so that's my two cents

A-   Activities: How do they spend their time with their s/o?

We all know how much Zoro loves to snooze, so you can bet that he loves taking naps with his s/o! There’s nothing better to him than finding a nice spot on the deck or within the ship to snuggle up with his beloved and catch some good Z’s. A lot of times he will actually try to stay awake instead of falling asleep right away, though, because he wants to enjoy his cuddle time! Plus, he thinks his partner is so cute when they’re dozing. When they are awake, Zoro also loves to train with his partner! It doesn’t matter how intense his partner is athletically; even if they are just in the same space honing their respective crafts, it really makes him happy. And getting to see his s/o all sweaty and breathless after a workout? That’s hot to him, LOL. 

B- Body: What does this character appreciate about their s/o? What part of their body are they most proud of, and in reverse, what body part are they ashamed of and how do they respond to their s/o gushing over it?

Zoro is an ass man; sorry, I don’t make the rules. He is gonna grab his s/o’s booty at every available opportunity. He just can’t help himself; I mean, it’s right there, just ripe for the taking, and the man has got to cop a feel! He’s also fond of his partner’s tummy, though; he loves to lay his head there when he’s dozing-- bonus points if his s/o gives him head scritches. That is a one-way ticket to a happy Zoro. 

As for himself, Zoro is very proud of his scars, ironically. They’re proof that he’s survived and overcome obstacles as a swordsman. He loves when his s/o traces his scars, or, when things are getting a little steamy, kisses along the patterns criss-crossing his body. He’s proud of his muscles, too, and loves when his s/o compliments them. He definitely flexes for his partner; he loves to get them all hot and bothered, LOL. 

C- Cuddles: Is this character a cuddler? What is their favorite way to cuddle?

Zoro loves to cuddle, mostly because he loves to nap. There is no better sleep to him than when his s/o is snuggled up against him. He likes to spoon his partner (this man is not the little spoon, no way, no how), but he also likes to sleep on his partner’s lap or tummy while they play with his hair and massage/scratch his head. 

D- Dreams: How do they picture their future with their s/o?

Zoro pretty much doesn’t think about much besides becoming the world’s greatest swordsman and helping Luffy achieve the title of Pirate King before his s/o comes along. After that, however, he begins to consider what happens next. After sailing for a while, he’ll entertain the idea of settling down and starting a dojo like his master, or maybe even returning to the old man and asking to take over one day. It’s not something he thinks about a whole lot, but he does, on occasion. Really, he just wants his partner to be happy, and will go along with their plans for their future. 

E- Equivalence: Is this character the dominant force in the relationship, are they passive, or is the relationship more or less even?

Zoro’s a pretty stubborn guy, but in a relationship, he’s actually kind of chill. He doesn’t mind not making decisions and will go along with his s/o’s flow. He just doesn’t see the point in trying to control of dominate aspects of his s/o’s life; they’re a person with their own free will, after all. As long as he can get his cuddles, he’s honestly good!

We all know most of the Straw Hat Crew share a single brain cell and most of the time, bless his heart, Zoro does not have it. He will get so confused when his partner is mad at him. He will have no idea what set them off, and that will frustrate him, so he’ll lash out in retaliation. Before the fight can escalate too much, he’ll stomp off to go nurse his feelings with some sake. It bothers him, though, knowing that his s/o’s feelings are hurt and probably because he did something stupid... so he’ll go to Nami or Robin for advice. Once they finally get his brain to click, he’ll go back to his s/o to apologize and talk things out. So, even though fights may occur often, normally they work out well when he finally puts two and two together. 

G- Gratitude: How does this character show their s/o that they are grateful?

Zoro is pretty low-key with his affection. To show his gratitude, he normally snuggles up to his partner and lavishes them in physical affection. It’s his main way to express his feelings, and he isn’t smart when it comes to gift-giving, nor is he eloquent with his words. His partner will have to recognize that this is how he is trying to express how he feels!

H- Honeymoon: If this character had a honeymoon with their s/o, where would they go?

Again, Zoro has no real preference with these things. In fact, he probably doesn’t even know what a honeymoon is. After his s/o explains it, however, and he realizes how important it is to them, Zoro is on board. He will probably let his partner choose the destination and activities; he righteously doesn’t care where they go. He just wants to spend time with them and make sure that they are having a good time. 

I- Insecurity: What is this character insecure about? How do they deal with their insecurities with their s/o?

Zoro is very much still haunted by Kuina’s death. It frustrates him that he was never able to best her, and he still carries a sense of guilt for her death, though it was a tragic accident. It’s not something he’ll bring up to his s/o very easily, because it’s not something he wants to talk about, but eventually after his s/o catches him brooding on it enough times, he’ll divulge the full story. He’ll probably tear up a bit, so his s/o will need to comfort him. 

J- Jealousy: Is this character the jealous type? How do they deal with being jealous?

Zoro is 100% confident in himself as a man and so he does not get jealous, lmao. Again, he doesn’t really have much desire to have his s/o on a leash. In fact, watching his s/o flirt and play coy with others is amusing to him, because it makes him oh so satisfied knowing that they are still going home with him that night. If he realizes his s/o is actively trying to get him jealous to have some fun, he’ll play along, but never for a moment does he actually doubt his s/o or their intentions. It’s honestly sweet, how much trust he has in them. 

K- Kiss: What does the character want their first kiss to be like with their s/o? How does it end up happening?

Again, this man? No brain cells. He’s just cruising, having a good time, and doesn’t even think about a kiss. His s/o will actually have to be the one to plant one on him the first time, because this poor guy is just like, “This is going well. Nice. Look at me go. I bet the Ero-Cook is so jealous.” Bless his heart, the poor, stupid thing. After the first time, though, he picks up on it and will take care to initiate PDA so his s/o doesn’t feel unwanted or undesirable. 

L- Love Confession: How does this character first profess their love to their s/o?

Once again, this man is as dense as a brick wall. He will not even realize that he caught feelings for someone; he just vibes, thinking that it’s just an aspect of their friendship. His s/o is going to have to be the one to confess, and then it will finally click in his head that the things he feels go beyond friendship, and then he will be like, “Oh. Yeah, I like you too, let’s go out.” It’s almost infuriating, because it can lead to a drawn-out mutual pining situation except Zoro doesn’t realize that he’s pining. Nami, please, give him the brain cell. 

M- Marriage: How does this character view marriage? What is their ideal wedding like?

Zoro doesn’t think much about marriage, just like his thoughts on his future with his s/o-- but when they bring it up, he isn’t opposed. Rather than a fancy proposal, it will probably be a mutual decision between himself and his partner. They will go with him to pick out the ring and there won’t be a big affair, just “Hey! We’re gonna get married!” If his s/o really wants the whole shabang, though, he’ll have Nami and Usopp help him put something together. Again, he doesn’t care, but if his s/o does, he want’s them to be happy. 

As for the wedding, again, he leaves all of that up to his s/o. The furthest his mind goes is imagining them in their wedding attire, and that makes him a little excited, the idea that they’ll be joined forever in love. 

N- Nicknames: What does this character like to call their s/o?

Zoro’s not really that into pet names. One might hear an occasional “babe” or a demeaning “sweetheart” or “sweetcheeks,” but he thinks it’s more intimate to call his s/o by their name. 

O- On Cloud Nine: What is this character like when they’re in love? Is it obvious to others, or are they good at hiding it?

Like I said, this fool is oblivious himself that he’s in love. Others might notice if they are astute because he spends a lot of time with the object of his affections, does things for them without complaining, and is protective over them. Other than that, it really isn’t that obvious.

P- PDA: Does this character like PDA? If so, what kinds of things do they do in public to show off their s/o?

Zoro does like PDA, especially if his partner is easily flusterable, because he thinks it’s cute. Throwing his arm around their shoulders or waist or sitting them on his lap are his personal favorites (and the aforementioned ass grabs). But if his s/o is also a fan of PDA, he’ll return any kisses, hugs, or hand-holds they initiate too, because he ain’t gonna say no to an excuse to touch his s./o! 

Q- Quirks: What random traits or quirks does this character have that positively affect the relationship?

Zoro has a habit of picking up random things he thinks his s/o will like. “Hey, I saw this flower and thought you might like it, here you go.” He totally doesn’t think anything of it, he just acted on a whim, but he does enjoy how happy his s/o gets about it-- so sometimes he goes out looking for stuff on purpose. He usually gets lost, of course, and someone has to go find him. 

R- Romance: Is this character a hopeless romantic, or a bit on the low-key side? Are they cliché when it comes to romantic gestures, or can they get a little bit creative?

As I’ve alluded, Zoro’s pretty lowkey in relationships. He’s not really prone to grand gestures, and just acts on whims rather than putting a lot of thought into his gestures. Occasionally, he will seek Nami and Robin out for advice to make sure he isn’t getting too boring or repetitive for his s/o, but mostly, he just does whatever comes to his mind. 

S- Secrets: Are there any secrets they hide from their s/o? If so, how do they deal with it when those secrets finally come out?

Besides his past with Kuina, Zoro doesn’t really have anything to hide from his s/o. He believes in honesty in relationships and just in general, so he won’t have any secrets. 

T- Thrill: Does this character prefer routine in their relationship, or do they like to shake things up every once in a while?

Zoro doesn’t even really think about it! Again, he just does whatever comes to mind. Sometimes there are spells of doing basically the same things every day, and then all of a sudden he’ll up and surprise his s/o with a random compliment or gift to keep it a little exciting. 

U- Understanding: Is this character level-headed and empathetic toward their partner, or do they sometimes have trouble figuring them out, which leads to some butting heads?

Zoro, bless his heart, will take a long time to learn how his partner really ticks. It’s just a little hard for him to learn how they think, so they will butt heads sometimes and have disagreements. He does try to be empathetic, it just doesn’t work out like he wants it to sometimes. 

V- Value: How does this character value their relationship with their s/o? How does it hold in comparison to their goals, ambitions, etc.?

Zoro does hold his relationship in pretty high regard, but his ultimate goals are making Luffy Pirate King and becoming a master swordsman. If his s/o does not support those goals, or if he has to choose between them, he’ll probably choose his goals. That isn’t to say he won’t make an effort to have both, though. 

W- Wild Card: Any random fluff headcanon that does not fall within the other categories!

Zoro talks in his sleep and it’s adorable. Sometimes his true feelings come out in his sleep, so he’ll babble on and on about how much he adores his s/o. It’s so cute, but he will deny it until he’s blue in the face despite the fact that everybody has heard him do it. 

X- XOXO: How does this character show affection?

As I’ve mentioned, Zoro’s primary love language is “physical affection.” He’s not great with words or gifts, so he primarily speaks through his actions. “Acts of service” is also in his repertoire, though; he doesn’t mind doing things for his s/o, and will often initiate without them even asking. 

Y- Yearning: How does this character deal with time apart with their s/o?

Oh, boy. He gets so pouty and grumpy. He doesn’t sleep as well when his s/o isn’t there, so he gets tired and oh-so-irritated. He is absolutely miserable to be around, and he and Sanji get into so many fights because he’s being a dick. He drinks a lot more, too, and is mad about the fact his alcohol tolerance is too high to drink himself into a stupor. As soon as his s/o returns, he is dragging them off for a much-needed nap. 

Z- Zeal: Is this character willing to great lengths for their relationship? If so, how far, and how long does it take to get to this point?

Although I said Zoro is more likely to choose his goals over his s/o, he still will go to great lengths for his s/o. He has faith in their capabilities, but if he gets even an inkling that they may need help, he goes charging off. It doesn’t really take Zoro that long to reach this point, either, as he becomes somewhat dependent on their presence quite soon.

Oooh, I love the idea of them gaining some semblance of that spiritual connection through the Basilisk, that's such a great idea! I have a few more things for my AU: 1. Johnny tries to quit smoking with the help of nicotine patches, while V still smokes. Johnny worries that it's ruining their health and would want to try quitting together with them, but feels like it's his fault they're a smoker in the first place, so he probably shouldn't get too cocky. Plus, smoking seems to help V mentally, and in their state, they should be able to indulge in whatever makes them happy, so Johnny doesn't push. 2. Right after Johnny and V got transferred to their own bodies, they were immediately taken back to camp by Panam and Mitch. V was completely unconcious, and Johnny, while slightly better, still took it pretty hard, aware of his surroundings but weakened, unable to walk by himself much, his mind clouded and blurry. When they were leaving Mikoshi, Mitch carried out V bridal-style (I'd imagine he's a pretty strong guy), and Johnny just felt pissed and jealous, that he should be the one carrying out V from Mikoshi like this, but also felt mad at himself, that he's too weak to stand himself, not even mentioning carrying someone else, so he's just fuming in silence as they leave the Arasaka Tower. 3. When they arrive, everyone hastily prepares them a van to recover in. They make a makeshift bed out of a mattress, and lay V down so that they could rest. The mattress can fit two people, so that raises the question on what to do with Johnny. Panam doesn't trust him and wants to keep her eye on him, but others convince her that Johnny did so much for V that he's pretty much an honorary Aldecaldo himself, and that he clearly loves them (Johnny just bites the inside of his cheek at that) or at least cares for them. Panam finally says like "Fine. You can stay here with V, but only because that's what they'd want. You try to hurt them in any way and I'll kill you. You're on thin ice." and Johnny just nods, too exhausted to bite back. All that he really wants now is to curl up somewhere quiet and dark, with V by his side, so that they could share this physical misery between them to make it easier for eachother.

Cyberpunk 2077 Ending Spoilers below

Firstly, i love love love johnny quitting or trying at least to quit smoking following any ending. The first time i discovered that in Temperance my heart! So, yes, with my own v i imagine he mostly quits (only occasionally smoking strawberry cigs because that was their compromise to smoke during the game so they now remind him of them) and the first time he sees them smoking, especially after their recovery, he loses it like he did on steve and they're like bUT YOU YOU??? BEGGED ME TO SMOKE??? So, I always adore that characterization and that reversal, because to me it also further shows they've been left forever changed by the other. But in a situation where V is worsening and hes worried about... bigger things taking them away from him, I do totally think despite his worries he'd let them have those comforts because... he knows better than anyone that itch and need to smoke just as a comfort when the world is shit.

HE WOULD TOTALLY BE JEALOUS AND A LITTLE INSECURE OF THAT! Hes such a jealous shit, even weak and barely walking hes like bUT IT'S MY JOB TO CARRY MY PRINCE/PRINCESS DAMN IT. I know it doesnt happen but i just imagined him desperately trying carry V bridal style before hes fully recovered just to prove he can and dropping them and falling on his face. He'd feel awful but its really funny.

God Panam and Johnny interactions, I do love her just being protective of V and a part of her still, maybe always, seeing him as the person who nearly took V from her. She knows its not rational, shes been told a thousand times he had no choice but feelings are rarely so simple. I also imagine Johnny in general would kind of struggle with being with V friends; Judy, River, Panam, Vik. Misty. The ones he only knows through V's eyes. Because he's a stranger to them at best, V's deadly parasite at worse, but he knows them.

2: I will figure it out eventually and that's a promise.

3: Watson is aboustely heart broken and near tears multiple times as well hearing Ran in so much distress and actually crying. Jackie does cry, he attempts multiple times to hug Ran and make it known he's there to comfort him, but it only works sometimes, and when it doesn't work Ran gets scared and tries to get away believing an attacker has gotten him. Grievous is almost like silently grieving, knowing he can't do anything to help his close friend. Cletus feels bad, and since he isnt too good with emotions, focuses on instead attempting to cheer everyone else up. Isaac and Benjamin feel awful as they feel at fault for letting it happen, so to hopefully help they make plans on how to make Ran as comfortable and safe as can be while also getting him to a nearby town they heard about to hopefully reverse it. Charles is doing his damn best to comfort Ran while also distracting him from his own thoughts, which mostly means Charles (and Watson) play the role of story teller for a while. Ranbob is the hardest hit by it, he's suffering so much because he so badly just wants to go over and hug his little brother and comfort him, tell him that it'll all be ok and that Bobby would protect him. But also knows he can't because he knows that would most likely do nothing but make it worse. For a while he spends his time blocking his ears and wrapped in a comfort blanket trying to comfort himself, as everyone else tend to his suffering brother. One thing that makes it harder is that Ran begins to purr to himself in a vain attempt to comfort himself (cause I personally like to think Enderman hybrids are like cats and purr like them, when their happy, content, comfortable, but also to soothe themselves and heal wounds), when Ranbob knows Ran's never purred, so knowing he's so desperate to try it now hurts him. 

You will get some comfort, like Watson manages to convince Ranbob to at least hug Ran, and Ranbob manages to purr alongside Ran a bit, which does actually help to calm Ran down. Ran getting wrapped up with the fluffiest blanket they have and always having Watson, Jackie, or Grievous by his side. With Jackie tending to hold his hand. 

4: All of the above. Sudden touch can be overwhelming to Ranbob at times, especially when he's not doing well mentally. Also while in this state, touch reminds him of the desperate grabbing and touching of the people he killed that tried to escape or fend him off. And Dream was able to hurt Ranbob by starving and dehydrating him of course, but when Ranbob was being particularly disobedient and tried to fight back Dream would often take control and cut or stab Ranbob then gave back control as punishment. 

10: It does get better! Idk if I already said but Kelalen is actually where they get the antidote for Rans blindness potion! And when their given it for free and it works, they become very grateful to Adler and Lucia (the one who actually convinced Adler to give them the potion in the first place cause it was the only one left). And a few days after they arrive they actually decide to explore the town, where they meet Siren and get more information on Dream and who he was, they also get their weapons and armor repaired by them. But while talking with Siren, Cletus and Grievous sneak off and run into Atlas, then Cletus and Grievous agree to help Atlas with his prank. But by the end of their second week in Kelalen the group starts to truly enjoy their stay, Ranbob often saying how it kind of reminds him of Mizu before everything happened. 

12: Thats funny though and is exactly how I'd want to be seen.

13: *CLAPS HANDS* OH BOY DO I HAVE NEWS FOR YOU. I RECENTLY TOLD MY FRIEND ABOUT RANBOB SEEING HIS DEAD FRIENDS AND FAMILY BUT FAILED TO TELL THEM IT WASNT ACTUALLY PART OF THE STORY. SO THEY TOOK IT LITTERALY AND THEY HAVE GIVEN ME IDEAS, WHILE ALSO HELPING ME REALIZE THAT THIS COULD ACTUALLY BE USED TO SET UP FOR RANBOB MOVING PAST HIS TRAUMAS AND CAN LEAD TO MORE FLUFF AND ANGST. SO NOW IT IS PART OF THE STORY, WITH CHANGES THAT IT HAPPENED DURING A DREAM AND HE DIDNT BELIEVE IT AND CONSIDERED IT A CRUEL JOKE BY FATE ITSELF AT FIRST. AND YES BY AT FIRST I MEAN THIS HAPPENS MANY MORE TIMES.

14: Im not doing Foolish and Dream brothers because I personally don't like/get it. But I was thinking maybe they meet Foolish after Mripat tells them that there was a member of the SMP who was said to be a god and immortal. And after some long conversations they decide to go hunt for this apparently immortal god. Which takes a while since no one actually knows where he is, just that he likes deserts, and have to go off possible sightings or hints in history books. And when they finally meet him they manage to learn about totems (which they previously didn't know about) and even get some. They also learn that infact even during the SMP time no one quite knew what Dream was, and learns the ways the SMP tried to permanently get rid of him. Foolish is also devastated to know that Dream infact survived and becomes determined to help them. Even offering his help that if they ever go back to Mizu to face Dream, he'll come along and help in anyway he can. 

15: I like to imagine Edward remembers Ranboo as the young troubled enderman that he basically adopted and took care of. So Edward sees Ranboo in both Ran and Ranbob, so he offers his help and advice. Basically becoming their Grandad, telling stories about everything he's seen. Especially about Ranboo because Ranbob is so curious about his ancestor he just cant help but ask. One convo I've been particularly thinking about goes something like, "Edward: Older one, what do you think your brother thinks about you? Ranbob: I..I think he doesnt like me, and that he wants me gone. Edward: Hmm, your wrong. Ranbob: What? Edward: When I look at Ran, I see a child, not an adult yet, scarred, scared and traumatized. A child that wishes you two were closer, that he could forgive you and wants to believe you, just so you two could be family again. But is afraid too, for he already has a family, that he is terrified of losing, and is scared if he attempts to trust you again that they may leave him. But make no mistake, your brother wants to make amends, your brother cares about you and wants you happy. He knows deep down that he can trust you, and that you are innocent, but you all must help him acknowledge those parts, and stand by him, helping him walk when needed, as he traverses his own nightmares." AKA I really want Edward to be the reason Ranbob realizes that Ran does want to be family again but needs help. Cause if I had to describe the brothers current positions with their trauma it'll be, Ranbob-Knows he has trauma and is trying to get better and live with it, willingly getting help. Ran-Is fucking drowning in trauma cause he refuses to acknowledge he has it and hides it well most of the time, also doesn't ask for help.

3: Hahaha, ow, ow, ow. That, overall, is...heartbreaking. At the same time though, it’s sweet to see everyone pitching in to do their best and help him. We got it with Ranbob, now we get it with Ran.

I am curious, though. From what you’ve said, Blindness potions don’t wear off immediately? Why’s that?

10: Oh, god, Ran’s blind when they arrive in town. That’s definitely a high tension situation. Not only have you got him out of commission, but everyone else high strung from it, and probably having their protective instincts in overdrive when they randomly get treated hostilely. What exactly does an antidote for blindness consist of? Do most potions have antidotes, or counters? Is milk no longer used, or is that not a thing in the AU? It does sound nice that they all end up making friends later on though. How does Ran adjust to having his sight back? And, y’know, having everyone see him like that, and his brother comfort him(if they aren’t on good terms at this point, the timeline’s confusing me a bit)

12: Throughout this conversation, every time I read something sad, the image struck me, and honestly, it’s what you deserve. If these keeps up, I’m gonna start inserting these little 🏹s every time you hurt my heart. 

13: I’m being conspired against. Does everyone see this? Brothers Anon and their friend are conspiring to break my heart. Such gremlins. What did I ever do to you two?

14: Huh. Why do they want to find Foolish? Curiosity? To learn more about the Smp? About Dream? Sounds like it has a lot of potential to be quite the interesting encounter. And, since they didn’t previously know about the totems, they probably wouldn’t notice if one activated in a certain situation where it’s popped...do with that what you will.

15: Anon, I love all of this. Tell me more about Grandpa Edward. Does he fondly look back to Ranboo being polite and quiet while Ranbob and Ran cause havoc in the background?
