In Defense of Dupli-Kate
Coming out as a Dupli-Kate defender, full disclaimer, I have only watched the show and have not read the comics. Please keep an open mind, I know how some of you are.
Kate has been receiving mass amounts of hate from much of the fandom and has been completely ignored by the rest of it, so I felt the need to defend her as a character. No, she is not perfect, but she is also not deserving of the vitriol many feel for her. I feel like many people have simply lumped her in with Immortal and are letting that influence their perception of her, but if you look at her story on its own merits it is very complex and interesting. Some of this is speculation but it is educated speculation based on all the facts we have been given.
Kate, like Rex, was raised by the government from a young age. While she was not given her powers like Rex was, she was still treated as government property and made to train her abilities and fighting skills. She has never known a normal life, even before she was taken in by the government. She had powers she could not control and inadvertently led her father to a severe psychological breakdown that by the looks of things he never recovered from. She was taken by the government and forced to fight her brother, the only person who could understand her or care to defend her, and then he left as well. Â Â Â Â Â Â I want to bring focus to the fact that when a clone dies all of the others, including the original, feel that death. This is a huge detriment to her potential as a hero (the pain of a brutal death can be a bit distracting) but in the show she appears to be completely desensitized to it; it is highly improbable that the government had nothing to do with that. While this is not confirmed (or even implied really) I truly believe that part of her training was to be killed over and over again, in a variety of terrible ways. She would not be a viable or reliable superhero if she wasnât, and the government in invincible doesnât seem the type to leave a weak spot in their defenses just for ethics sake. She had nowhere to go if she objected. This is where we find her at the beginning of the series, fighting for the government that raised her on the Teen Team.
While this is not as big of a deal as some other things people hate Kate for I will still address it for the sake of full coverage. Kate did not know that Rex was cheating on Eve, and she is not âfor the streetsâ (though even if she were that is not a moral failing). She clearly expresses that she was under the impression Rex and Exe had broken up, or at the very least that Eve was seeing Invincible. She believed that Rex was fully available, and that Eve had already moved on based on what Rex told her. Her only relationship we see after this is her long-term relationship with immortal. None of what she did is a moral or ethical failing.
This is one of the biggest things I have seen people hate Kate for, that being faking her death and abandoning her team. This was a bad thing to do, we can all agree on that, but when rewatching the scene it does not seem like this was pre-planned in any way. In the scene we see Kate fight as she has in the past, but nothing she is doing is effective. Not just is Kate experiencing difficulties, it is clear in this battle that the lizard league is stronger than expected and the team is having a very difficult time. After she is caught, she asks for help from the others, sounding genuinely afraid. She duplicates herself and attempts to escape but is caught and killed. None of it appears pre-planned in any way, there is no way she could have known that the league would even be attacking. Moreover, the Lizard League chose to do their plan at that time specifically because only the âweakerâ Guardians of the Globe were on earth. They were no match for the League by design, and in the battle Kateâs clones were virtually useless. It seems more likely to me that Kateâs desertion was more out of fear and hopelessness after a near-death experience that anything else. But why didnât she come back? Or get reinforcements? Why did she specifically fake her death?
At what point does a superhero get to retire while still being seen as a hero. This is a very controversial question, one that Invincible seems to be trying to tackle, but many do not see how it relates to Kate. She has spent her entire life either training to be a superhero or being a superhero, all because of powers she was born with and had no control in revealing to the government. Not only that, but very recently the threats to the world have not only gotten stronger, but earth has also lost their strongest hero (Omni-Man). Most of the people she looked up to were killed trying and failing to defend Earth, meanwhile she has been given their mantle to carry on. She and her team have been given an impossible task that they canât refuse, one that will almost certainly mean death for all of her friends and maybe herself. She was trapped in being a superhero, there is no stepping down from the job of earthâs biggest line of defense. A hero can only retire respectably when they die, if they do not die in a gruesome battle then people will always say they did not do enough. They will be called selfish for having a gift and not wanting to put their lives on the line because of it. Kate never had a choice in becoming a hero, but she did have a choice in leaving. Kate didnât want to work her entire life just to die in some gruesome way. She did not want to watch all her friends die while she alone remained, having failed them, with only the lingering feeling of death and the guilt. That death looked real because it almost was, and it was likely the closest sheâs been to a real death in a long time. It likely seemed that as things were getting more and more dangerous with the departure of Omni-Man this would be her final and only opportunity to leave.
Immortal is also part of this equation. Kate and Immortalâs relationship influences much of her character after they get together, and so it is only right to examine that relationship and its effects on her. Kate immediately goes to Immortals home after she fakes her death, she clearly trusts him a great deal, and he clearly cares for her as well. That being said, there is nothing that could ever defend the relationship existing in the first place. Immortal is thousands of years old, and Kate is fresh off the TEEN TEAM. She cannot be older than twenty at most. She does not have even close to the amount of life experience that he has. I understand that nobody will ever have the same amount of life experience as Immortal due to his age, but being with a fully developed 30- or 40-year-old hero is exponentially better than being with a teenager, and he should know that. Immortal has been a superhero working for the government for longer than Kate has been alive. It is not a far stretch to believe she was aware of him her entire life, seeing as he was a famous hero who worked for the same people training her. She was told by someone she looked up to (or at the very least respected), possibly for her entire life, that she was special and worthy on her own merits. That she was not just a good hero but also a good relationship partner. Their entire relationship is based on the idea that Kateâs trauma has made her more mature and closer to his equal, but that is not how trauma works. She believes her many deaths let her relate to Immortal, that they are close to the same age if you think about it, but these are flawed lines of thinking. Despite all of the death and trauma she has endured Kate is still a teenager, being exposed to trauma at a young age doesnât make you more mature it just makes you traumatized. She desperately wants to be liked as a person, something that she likely has not experienced for much of her life, and so she latched on to Immortal. By being in a relationship with her he encourages her to think of herself this way, as more mature than her peers, and so he also becomes the only person to whom she can relate. She runs away to the only person she feels cares about her and can relate to her, wanting to have a life with him.
A big part of why many people do not see much nuance with her or with her relationship with Immortal comes down to the fact that she was written poorly. Everything about her is told to the audience instead of shown. There are no scenes of Kate and Immortal finding solace in their shared experiences, no scenes where Kate talks to any of her âfriendsâ about her issues and motivations, instead we are vaguely told about her. She is only used to move forward the plot of the characters around her and so she comes out feeling flat. The only things the audience gets to see her do is abandon the team and retire, seemingly without thinking to how it would effect the others, and so it is no surprise that people hate her. She is rarely seen outside of her relationship to Immortal once they get together, and so of course people tend to lump them together. It is a writing issue more than it is a character issue.
In looking deeper at her character there is much to be found about the themes of the show, it is just a matter of looking past the writing. I hope this has convinced at least a few of you, let me know your thoughts :)

Skywalkers apart au! It's so precious that Anakin gets to be a dad, a rebellion general Dad but he gets to be there for at least one of them and Padme survives and gets to be a mom and maybe someday they get to meet and it's so good.
Also the concept of General Skywalker of the Rebellion feels like it has so much potential cause he was such a big figure in the Clone Wars, he was the Hero, the General, he could probably get the various splinter rebel cells (they were very divided in the early Rebellion) to follow him by sheer reputation and charisma. Imagine Anakin being at Hoth, like the attack is going along the usual Imperial imminent victory and suddenly an AT-AT has been thrown clear across the landscape and an announcement sounds out "General Skywalker has entered the field" cue Rebel Counterattack due to morale boost and Imperial Panic.
What happened to the 501st here? Did he go to the Venator's crash site where Ahsoka was during Order 66 what did he think when he saw all the dead folks?
Fun thought, Starkiller being the apprentice in this AU, means that Sidious has probably been comparing him to Anakin (in part because he's bitter he didn't fall, in other part cause it's great for fueling the darkside) for years so the first time they face off he's gonna be full of spiteful hatred (all going according to plan) before Starkiller gets styled on by the Skywalker, cause Anakin isn't crippled by the suit and that means he's still massively powerful in the force and skilled in the blade (Vader was too, but less than a whole Anakin), I could see Anakin pulling a Lightside version of the Rogue One Hallway scene against Stormtroopers (or even inquisitors).
Rebel General Anakin Skywalker would be an Imperial Boogeyman.
Leia would probably appreciate it for a while but also she'd get a bit annoyed about her dad's reputation and "Legend" and the fact that she's probably got that entire thing to measure up to, making her more reckless or foolhardy. That's a big shadow to live under.
Padme on the other hand is probably in a very different situation reputation wise, she was the senator for the new Emperor's home planet, she's the old queen of naboo from the Trade Federation attack, she's a founding member of one of the oldest discrete rebellion cells but that still leaves some stigma. She's probably so very worried about Imperial surveilance on her or Luke or the rest of her family, and it doesn't help that the Inquistorious has probably been sniffing around for a while.
ok this is a veeeeery long ask so i'm gonna have a veeeery long answer which is gonna go under this readmore:
YES!! yes absolutely! tbh i decided a while back he never gets an official promotion to general, everyone just calls him General Skywalker for so long that it sticks loll. BUT YEAH I mean working with a Jedi is rare and awe-inspiring enough for any rebellion cell but working with the hero with no fear??? half the rebels are wondering if they can interrupt this mission to ask for his autograph
its extra funny bc for the first few years of the empire he's lowkey depressed and like agh i failed the order republic AND my family i'm a terrible horrible no good jedi who nearly turned to the dark side and while he's having this spiral there's some rebel standing next to him pointing and pogging
and yeah he's SO useful in big battles like that!! he's half a legend, half a ghost story, given most ppl think he died in the Purge but here he is, enacting justice on the empire!! tho he does struggle on quieter missions (which happen a lot more at first bc gotta hide from the empire) that you cant just blaze into. its a difficult shift to go from clone wars general skywalker to rebel general skywalker
yeah 501st same as canon ): but OHHH MY GOD yes thats SUCH A PERFECT IDEA, Anakin going with Rex and Ahsoka to the site and mourning them all (and probably going into another depression spiral lbr)
youre so right lollll obvs leia loves the one up she has in an argument of "well my dad's general skywalker, beat that" but as u say she absolutely wants to live up to that (+ is a very independent/stubborn person and would like Leia Skywalker, not just "General Skywalker's daughter" lol)
AND YEAH ABSOLUTELY Padmé and Anakin's roles in this au are both so interesting (is that egotistical to say) bc they're these upside down versions of their clone wars roles, both very loud people forced to quieten down and be Discreet about how they go abt helping ppl. Padmé is really struggling hiding so much (luke's force sensitivity, her rebel activities, all relations to anakin) and trying to protect Luke while helping the Rebellion WHILE trying not to seem suspicious. a lot on her plate -- only made worse by palpatine keeping a close-ish eye on her, and she can't tell why (is it bc of luke? the rebellion? anakin? or is it just his old favouritism or patriotism being VERY inconvenient??)
on the inquisitors, obvs you don't see a lot of them on coruscant -- but padmé's SO scared abt ppl (MAINLY SIDIOUS WHO, YA KNOW, TRIED TO TURN LUKE'S DAD SITH) finding out abt him and she hates that she's making him repress this part of himself but what choice does she have???

BB Season 3 Title Speculations
Just my theories as to what could happen based on the episode names.
"Confined"- This will be strongly Omega and Crosshair centric. I think a lot of clips, including the ones from the trailer where they see each other and the leaked clip, will take place in this episode. It's clear that Crosshair is at his all time lowest so it can only go up from here. We probably will see a glimpse of Hunter and Wrecker, but the name suggests a strong focus on Omega and Cross. This is pre-time jump btw based on Omega's hair. We might also get that Palpatine scene of him saying how important Hemlock's work is as well.
"Paths Unknown"- this gives me strong Hunter and Wrecker vibes. I think it's safe to say that this episode will focus on what the two have been up to since Omega's capture and Tech's "death." Hopefully, we'll see a bit of Rex and Echo as well. However, I feel like this will be more of the boys trying to pick themselves up and find out any info on Omega. We might also see the scenes of them talking to Rex.
"Shadows of Tantiss"- again, this sounds very Omega and Crosshair centric. The use of the word shadows indicate dark times for the pair as Hemlock's control tightens and Cross presumably retreats even further within himself. Maybe this is the episode where we get the time jump since the word "shadows" could mean that time has passed since we last saw the pair.
"A Different Approach"- This could mean two things: either Cross and Omega try a new way to escape or Hunter turns to bounty hunters to help. In the trailer, Fennec is visible with Hunter and Wrecker when they take that boat in the swamp.
"The Return"- this episode name could have a double meaning like the last one. The most obvious one is that it's the return of Crosshair. We know that he and Omega potentially escape and crash land in a ship. I have a theory that they'll both make it out, however, Omega gets captured again, sacrificing her freedom for Crosshair's. Another meaning could be the return of Ventress. It makes sense since she's a pretty big character within the animated shows. I think that we'll meet her on Teth. However, I'm unsure.
"Infiltration" and "The Extraction"- these two episodes seem to go hand in hand. I'm not sure what could happen based on the trailers. Maybe the Batch has to go somewhere to retrieve information or an item for a mission. Maybe that turbo tank chase is during these episodes because Phee comments "not exactly a stealth exit boys." However, I think that could actually be the episode "Juggernaut." Since this is a two-parter, I speculate that we might also see bounty hunters after the Batch.
"Bad Territory"- this episode feels more mission-y based because of the name. It sounds like the Batch are going to a planet where hijinks ensue and they wind up in trouble. It could also mean the return of bounty hunters like Cad Bane or clone assassins but who knows.
"The Harbinger"- now this is where things get interesting. At its most basic definition, a harbinger is person or thing that signals the arrival of something, a herald so to speak. I think this is the episode where we see the mysterious imperial take front and center. Maybe he's a harbinger of doom that the Batch have to out maneuver. Or maybe the Batch receive a warning that Omega's life is truly in danger and they need to act fast. It could also be the episode with CX-1. He does warn (the Batch I assume) that they're being hunted.
"Identity Crisis"- my theory for this episode only makes sense if Tech is the one under the mysterious imperial's mask. This episode could very easily apply to Cross and Ventress as well. However, if it's Tech that's under the mask, then it this title makes perfect sense. He's fighting the imperial programming while the others try to bring him back. But Tech's survival is controversial so I can't confidently say that this will happen
"Point of No Return"- this feels like an ultimatum type of episode. The Batch know that what they're going to do will lead to their demise or survival, including Omega's. On the other hand, this could be the episode where Pabu gets invaded. If that happens, then it tells the Batch that there's no turning back for them; they have to save Omega and stop Hemlock or else they will lose more of what they care about. The Empire took enough from them; now, the clones prepare their final stand.
"Juggernaut"- I think this is episode where we get the turbo tank chase. We know that Cross, Hunter, and Wrecker are together again along with Phee. Alternatively, someone suggested that Wrecker dies in a giant explosion based on the name "juggernaut," but I'd rather not think about that.
"Into the Breach"- according to Google, this phrase means that a person steps up to do a task when someone is unable to do it or there's no one else available. This raises questions: who's stepping up? What task is being conducted? I hate to be that guy, but it's possible we might see Echo or someone die. Think about it: one of the Batchers or an ally gets badly hurt trying to do something and someone else steps up. The episode is a big fanfare of things that go boom and epic music as the task is completed but at a grave cost.
"Flash Strike"- this feels very action heavy. There are many clips near the end of the trailer showing the Batch hijacking ships and troopers fighting/being shot at. On google "flash strike" can refer to workers going on strike without notice. This episode is probably where we see the clone rebellion truly begin to act out against the Empire and Tantiss.
"The Cavalry has Arrived"- the grand finale of it all. It's poetic that the final chapter in the story about a group of special clones is titled after their very first line in their very first appearance in Clone Wars. Like the Batch arriving on Anaxes to help the Jedi and Rex, I think this episode will be the full culmination of the clones' stand against the Empire. We will see the Batch reunited and Omega will be saved... but at what cost? If this show parallels the OT (which I think it is), then we probably will get a happy ending. However, I'm leaning more towards it ending with just Crosshair and Omega left.
Anyways, these are just my theories and speculations. Feel free to share any theories about the episode titles down below. And one quick note about the poster: Hunter's helmet kinda mirrors Jesse's in the final episode of Clone Wars. It's probably symbolizing the end of an era for the clones as a whole. Spooky.

@whyoneartheven OKAY you were asking about The Ties That Bind and @seeking-elsewhither you expressed interest in it like. months ago (and it will be MORE MONTHS LATER when you finally see this. i apologize that you're gonna have like a million notifications when you get back)
In all honesty Evie. I do feel a little bad for not telling you about this earlier cause WDAP is our AU, and to go and make a whole sub-AU for it without your knowledge, even if you were on hiatus when it first came to me, kind of feels like I was going behind your back a little. And I would never want to do that, because you are indeed my twin who was born in a completely different time and a completely different place and who looks (sorta) nothing like me too. So please accept this formal apology. I love you :)
So the main place that this diverges from main WDAP is that its focus is not on the Coruscant Guard and the Jedi, but rather on Clone Force Ninety-Nine and Fives. (And Omega when she shows up, which I do in fact have plans for >:) ) It's called The Ties That Bind (or, if you prefer, TTTB or even T3B for short) in reference to the three major relationships that it focuses on- 1) Hunter and Crosshair, 2) Tech and Wrecker (which i have MANY thoughts about that i will be exploring here) and, obviously, because I'm me, I mean you all saw it coming, if you're surprised at this... you must be new here, 3) Fives and Echo- and the things that keep those relationships afloat during a time of major crisis.
And I do mean major.
If WDAP is a crack-treated-seriously fix-it fic... TTTB is What if we took this and made it WORSE than canon. I mean because of How I Am, things are going to turn out well for our heroes, but. Everything surrounding the rise of the Empire is. Bad.
Bulletpoints for the prologue lie below.
This AU diverges from WDAP canon in that... somehow, Palpatine (returns) gets wise to the conspiracy against him. I haven't quite figured out how this happens yet. Palps then orchestrates the death of almost every one of the conspirators through either cleverly-staged "accidents", disappearings, or just flat-out clandestine murder. Of the main cluster of Jedi and Senators, only Bail Organa, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, and Anakin Skywalker- or rather, Darth Vader- survive. The Chancellor then uses the conspiracy to assume the dictatorial powers of an Emperor, imposes martial law on the once-Republic, and- well- executes Order Sixty-Six.Â
Let's rewind a few months. Fives, with the knowledge of the Inhibitor Chips, is not killed by Fox, but instead goes into hiding with Clone Force 99 under Cody's supervision. However, he's advised by Rex, Cody, and Fox not to tell anyone about the chips until they can find a pulse on how much Palpatine knows about the conspiracy. Begrudgingly, and after much fighting and headbutting and scream-crying and gnashing of teeth, Fives agrees. (Itâs important to note that other than this crucial detail, everything until the Emperorâs ascension is identical to WDAP canon.)
He actually gets on very well with CF99- well, except with Crosshair. The sniper finds him obnoxiously self-righteous and overly passionate, and Fives in turn is disgusted by his detached callousness and general di'kut-ery. They're constantly sassing each other, throwing barbs and veiled insults and even sometimes their fists, and just generally causing twice the normal amount of headaches for Hunter. Their rivalry is exacerbated by the fact that Fives is under orders not to tell anyone about the chips. CF99 took him in knowing he has a secret to keep, but not knowing what that secret is. Cross hates this- to a man who values loyalty to such a degree as he does, there's no worse sin than a lack of transparency with one's team. Â
Echo's frequency is discovered. This goes about as well as expected when Fives is added to the equation. If, in canon, Rex throws himself into the Skako Minor mission, then Fives throws himself into it with abandon. Skako Minor is also where his rivalry with Crosshair reaches a head- until then, they'd mistrusted and disliked each other, but there had always been an air of civility and even good-naturedness to it. But after Crosshair... makes one comment too many, and not about Fives himself but about Echo-- well, a man can't exactly be pummeled nearly to death and come out of it without a grudge. Fives, for his part, is nearly benched for the rest of the mission for his no-holds-barred beatdown, and itâs only after Rex and Hunter simultaneously reach the conclusion that if heâs ordered to stay behind heâll just be more determined to reach his twin that heâs allowed to come back.Â
Reunion! Yay! Rejoicing! Thereâs a lot of crying and hugging and kissing. Mostly crying. And then come the long, long nights of PTSD nightmares on Echoâs part, and the long, long nights of coaxing Echo out of his PTSD nightmares on Fivesâs part, and the growing, festering resentment between Fives and Crosshair, and the awkwardness of Echo trying to assimilate into CF99, and the awkwardness of CF99 trying to assimilate Echo, andâ oh, weâre being called away to Kaller?
Itâs while theyâre on Kaller that Palpatine cracks down on the conspiracy and declares that martial law I was talking about. Order Sixty-Six isnât a massacre, itâs a full-on slaughter. And it takes everyone by complete surprise, because as far as anyone knew, the conspiracy was running perfectly smoothly.
CF99 canât report back to Kamino. They canât, Fives explains, panicky and with pressure mounting in his chest. No one can know heâs alive. No one can know because heâ
Because he what, sneers Crosshair. This doesnât have anything to do with that secret they werenât supposed to ask about, does it?Â
Thereâs silence aboard the Havoc Marauder.Â
Itâs only with heaving breaths and Echoâs flesh-hand resting securely on the small of his back that Fives is able to choke out the truth about the inhibitor chips.
You knew? You knew all this time and you didnât tell us?
I couldnât! You knew that! You all knew that! Donât look at me like IâM a traitor!
Are you saying we ARE?
No one said anything of the sortâ
Iâll shoot him! Iâll shoot him dead right nowâ
You touch him and Iâll SCOMP youâ
You? Oh, please, you can barely even walk straight on those clumsy mechanical legs of yoursâ
Whâ Crosshair! Whatâs wrong with you, you canât justâ
Theyâre both a liability, Wrecker, theyâre regs, and conspiratorial ones at that, and if it were up to me neither of them would be on thisâ
ENOUGH! shouts Hunter. Everything falls dead silent, dead still; all eyes fix themselves on the exhausted, exasperated sergeant.Â
Clone Force Ninety-Nine will not be going back to Kamino. They knew Fivesâs secret had to be kept secret, thereâs no reason to pin blame on him, he was under orders. Crosshairâs behavior is disgustingly out of line and his petty feud with the ARC trooper has gone far too far. Everyone is immediately ordered to bed.Â
When they wake up the next morning, Crosshair is gone.
Everyone knows where heâs headed.

Adapting Republic Commando into canon
Yes. I am doing this for fun.
RC was written for the EU, so I thought it could be fun to try to adapt some of its story into the current canon. In fact, there are only a few issues that need to be solved for this to work! Letâs begin.
1- TwiâLeks and Humans can breed
This was a rule that took place in Legends, but obviously we known Kanan and Hera had Jacen in Canon, which means there is now no reason as to why Atin and Laseema cannot.
2- CSF
In the EU, the CSF were pretty popular as the police force more than the Coruscant Guard. I figured that this doesnât change anything in particular, maybe just that Kal says he prefers working with the CSF over the CG because he has Obrim in the CSF
3- Mandalore
So, obviously Mandalore from the EU and Mandalore from the Clone Wars are⊠different. Well I have a solution to this. The clones were created in 32 BBY, which was during the Phantom Menace. AKA, after Obi-Wan met Satine, well, after Sabineâs well established rule, she created Mandalore as pacifists. But, for the sake of this universe, a group of Mandalorians went to form their own âMandaloreâ on Kyrimorut to adhere to their more traditional Mandalorian values. Jango ruled this new Mandalore for a short time, explaining why Shysa wanted his heir, and why Shysa eventually becomes a Mandalorian ruler. This place would still be Mandalore to them, but it would be separate from the actual Mandalore of the Clone Wars Series.
Kyrimorut= New Mandalore= From Republic Commando
Mandalore= Actual Mandalore= From The Clone Wars
4- Spaarti Clones
So obviously the Spaarti Clones bred by Palps donât exist in canon. So we are changing them to the most recent batch of clone troopers shipped off Kamino at the end of the war. Maybe still made with second generation Jango DNA. Instead of investigating the Spaarti clones, maybe Besany can find something related to Order 66. Which brings me to my next pointâŠ
5- Order 66
This is the biggest issue of canonization within the series. Because in the EU, there were no inhibitor chips. The clones just followed orders. So⊠what does that do here? Well⊠there are a few solutions.
Solution One is that they didnât listen. The Nulls are already incredibly deviant when it comes to orders, so not a real problem there. Omega Squad is iffy, because they werenât around any Jedi when it happened, but they knew they were going to meet up with Etain, who was a known Jedi. I could see Darman still fighting the chip, but not really for Niner, Atin, or Corr. Fi doesnât matter since he isnât wearing his trooper armor, and therefore doesnât receive Order 66.
Solution Two is better. And itâs that Besany discovered the inhibitor chips based on the same report made by Rex that Ahsoka watched. She managed to access Anakinâs database or whatever cause Jaing tech skills for the win. While she did not discover the purpose of the chips or anything, she discovered they were there, and Kal hated having those chips inside his boysâ heads, and had them be removed as soon as possible in secret. Not to protect the Jedi, but just because Kal didnât want the Kaminoans to be able to control his sons in any way. Then, when Order 66 rolled around, none of them obeyed.
So, yeah. Thatâs my idea on adapting RC into canon. Thank you for reading!

Um I'm sorry this week's episode of Ahsoka???
The flashbacks, the fire the war, the death?
Ahsoka taking Anakin back to the siege of mandalore and then FIGHTING him there? As if it wasn't traumatic enough the first time.
I am really leaning into the idea that Ahsoka is stuck in this loop of trying to be like her master, but also not trying to.
The way she expresses the tiniest bit of resentment for who Anakin became because why wouldn't she?
I feel like so many times characters are tip toeing around Anakin, and his descent into Vader. I wish Obi-wan had known its OKAY to be upset. It's OKAY to grieve the person you knew while simultaneously acknowledging who they became.
Ashoka sees it real time. The reflections of her past show her that the darkness was always there, she just didn't see it. And it SCARES her that the darkness might have been instilled into her, too.
Gawd the imagery too, Anakin rushing into the smoke and flames, the flash of his red bald and Vader helmet, only to be Anakin again.
The call back to Tales of the Jedi's "the best way I can protect you is by teaching you to protect yourself"
I know in the clone wars Ahsoka is a child, I know that, but seeing her in live action, acted out by a child is just... so real. She was commanding an army. The weight of the galaxy was on her shoulders and she wouldn't have even been in highschool.
I have one complaint. One. And it's; LET THEM CRY.
Why does no one ever cry? She stares ominously into the wind, but I feel like there was a perfect moment for an emotional breakdown, or a crack in her voice, a sole tear being shed as she separates from her master one last time. We saw Rex cry in the clone wars let Ahsoka, and Obi-wan cry dammit, let them MOURN their friend, and everything they'd ever known.
On the Hera side of things, I love her. I love that she's willing to lose it all for her family. And I have a feeling this isn't the last time we are going to see her. I would also anticipate she'll be joined by a friend the next time we see her.
The new republic is so annoying Hera should leave they don't know what they got đ

Started writing the separated bad batch fic....
And shit young Cody is a doll and I love him. Alpha does too.
Story bit under cut
Cody didn't bother knocking on Alpha-17âs door, instead walking into his office with a datapad in hand and sitting down at the free chair across from him at the desk.
Alpha simply raised an eyebrow and sighed, putting his stylus down, folding his hands on his desk at the young Commander.
âCan I help you, Kote?â
âI assume you know that I'm losing my Captain.â
Alpha nodded. âCommander-sorry General Skywalker has his own battalion now, so I would imagine he would take Rex.â
âExactly.â Cody said, putting his data pad on the desk. âAnd I need an ARC to replace him too. Not that I could ever replace my little brother.â
âNo one could replace Blondie. I suppose you are here for suggestions on who would fit well from the last graduates who are waiting to be assigned.â Alpha picked up another datapad and moved to open the list as he spoke.
âActually, I already have my ARC picked out. But there is a small problem,â Cody smiled charmingly at his former Commander.
Alphaâs eyes narrowed in suspicion and he took a deep breath through his nose. âYou have been taking lessons from Kenobi. What is it?â
âHe hasn't technically graduated, and technically not cleared for active duty from the Kaminoans. EC-9902.â Cody pushed his pad toward the man who was the closest thing to a father. âAnd maybe I've been taking some finer lessons from General Kenobi on negotiations.â
âDon't let him charm you. He's a menace.â Alpha took the pad and read over the report Cody had written himself. âYou and your personnel reports. You realize that he hasn't even been cleared by Nala Se for active duty. Not to mention his status as an EC means he potentially has detriments that haven't been discovered yet in his testing.â
âThat's not my concern. He's skilled. Not just as a spotter. His academic tests are off the charts, not to mention his skills as a pilot and shooter.â
âHis physical prowess, though, is above average at best, acceptable at its worst.â Alpha countered.
âFor an ARC trooper. But he is still well above average and into exemplary performance in his training sims.â Cody argued, still smirking.
âI take my words about Kenobi back. You are a menace. I can't just approve him without informing Nala Se. The 99s are her special projects that she is desperate to keep on Kamino for fine tuning.â
âHe's the one I want, Buir. I have a feeling about him.â
Alpha narrowed his eyes. âA feeling? What? You're a Jedi now?â
âNo, but General Kenobi has helped me trust my gut. Something you honed in all of us, Alpha.â Cody leaned forward. âAnd I have a feeling that EC-9902 and the other 99s may have a bigger part to play. I know I can't take them all, but they need to be in the field.â
Alpha sighed and pushed the data pad back to him. âI already was going to put him into the graduating class, and I can bring up his potential and your interest to Nala Se. She has the final word. Donât get your hopes up.â he warned.
Cody simply beamed and nodded. âI wonât. I know youâll pull through for me.â He stood up and walked to the âI leave in three rotations. Iâd like to have him on the shuttle with me to get to know him.â
âMenace. I'll have news in two rotations. Youâll have an ARC either way.â Alpha-17 watched as his oldest son; the man who took over Command of the 212th, beamed at him.
âThanks, Buir. Iâll see you for late meal.â Cody waved and left his office, smiling to himself as he looked down at the datapad, showing a bright eyed, goggled clone. EC-9902 would make a perfect edition to the 212th, he knew it.

No Chips Fic
Okay so there's this fic about an au where the clones were raised to betray the jedi and change their minds and I have, not whole fic but a handful of conversations for it:
Rex is three very alcoholic cocktails in when Bly thumps down next to him with a beer and promptly faceplants into the table. "Mood." "She mourns our brothers when they die." Bly replies, barely coherent over the music and noisy brothers. "She mourns them with us and she found a way to get us those medical supplies when an admiral was stonewalling and she's freaking gorgeous on top of it - how am I supposed to handle this Rex??" "Don't ask me. I've got the crazy one remember?" He downs his drink. "Skywalker's supposed to be the non-traitor right? But he's crazy. I'm serious Bly. Completely batshit insane." "What'd he do this time?" The account of Skywalker's recent shenanigans (as if the 501st are not also somewhat crazy) is interrupted by Wolffe, Cody, and both Stone and Thorn as well joining them with their own drinks. Rex raises an eyebrow, mildly impressed that 2 Corrie Commanders managed to join, and asks "So have you thought about it?" "We're not fully convinced yet." Stone raises his hands as they start venting. "Cool it! We won't fight you alright!" He glares till they settle down, and continues "We aren't sure about your Jedi. But if you all decide, with absolute certainty, that this is the path you're going to take, we'll either back you or stay out of your way. Okay?" Bly lifts his head to say that's not good enough, catches sight of the bruising around Stone's eye, and changes his mind. "Maybe we should find you a Jedi. So you can see what we're talking about and get some extra protection." Both Corries snort and tell them that at the rate the Jedi seem to be going they'll get themselves all killed first because they're all idiots, which sparks an immediate argument over who's Jedi has done the craziest thing lately, and that's how they pass the rest of the night.
......
The next time they manage to get a bunch of commanders at 79s on the same night Fox and Thorn are there, and Fox is facedown on the table cursing under his breath. Bly grins like a shark and says "My general tells me you got a jedi?" "He's insane Bly. Completely insane." "Actually he's only mildly crazy." Thorn adds, pinning the hand that reaches up blindly to smack him. "Fox just says he's insane because he keeps flirting with-" Fox lungs but fails to stop Thorn up. "him and it makes Fox blush." Their brothers are all laughing like the little shits they are and Fox slumps down planning vengeance. "He's not that smooth." "You were redder than your paint!" Thorn does not dodge that smack and Cody grins and says "So you get it now?" Fox stares at him. "We pulled him out of a garbage bin. Four days later he found came across a Senator about to beat a Guard and got the Guard to us safely. That Senator showed up in the hospital the next day with four broken bones and no idea who put him there. So yeah, I get it. We're officially joining you in the "keep the Jedi alive and fuck the Sith plan." "I'm not sure that's what we're calling it." Cody mused and Fox threw his empty glass at him.
......
Cody hears the alert that signals a priority message and checks his secure comm. All the commanders and captains have one, they needed a way to communicate privately. Fox: Hey. You know the Sith who placed that order for us? The guy who promised when the war was over and we'd killed all the Jedi we'd be free? Oh boy. That was Fox's "I'm taking the time to say this because I'm pissed off voice." That was never good. Fox: ITS THE FUCKING CHANCELLOR. Cody freezes. Fox has attached evidence because of course he has, and the other commander is nothing if not thorough, so Fox has attached not only his evidence but also evidence of every time Palpatine has done some legal thing that would prolong the war, or voted against giving them rights. Alright. They need to rework their plans. Yesterday.
......
Here's the thing to understand. The clones never exactly trusted the Sith. A lot of them believed him when he set the deal out, but there were definitely some laying out back up plans and what-ifs and no one ever said anything about it because sure, they had a deal, but they only trusted their brothers. No one else. And sure, not every trooper trusts their Jedi generals, but they all hear about how General Koon found a replacement eye for Commander Wolffe, or how General Windu goes back for his injured troopers, or other stories. And even without that, they'll side with their brothers before they side with a Sith who put them in a war that's killing them. And when they find out that the Sith is the Chancellor who clearly has no intent of giving them their rights? Well, let's just say that was a mistake on Palpatine's part.
#for the record if wolffe had lost an eye before the corries met quinlan that would've been their turning point#star wars au#more plot bunnies#writing#clone wars#clone troopers#star wars

Kingdom Hearts x Star Wars! đȘ
So recently Iâve been getting really into a Kingdom Hearts mood and this is a bit less of a crossover headcanon and more of an idea? Iâve heard that Star Wars is a possible world for KH4 so I figured why not try my own take! This is basically what I think might happen if we were to get a Star Wars World in KH4! Thank you for tuning in!
â§Ë àŒ âïœĄË Characters â§Ë àŒ âïœĄË
Now for starters, we gotta talk about Luke Skywalker as a party member! Heâs the ultimate Star Wars character (please donât be upset đ
đ)! I have a feeling Sora might see him as a kinda mentor type figure, seeing as Luke is older than him & he does get a bit more serious by the time of Return of the Jedi. Although he still has that kind, but reckless farm boy attitude so I think heâll get along with Sora pretty well or even Kairi! While Kairi is a bit more soft spoken, I feel like sheâll connect pretty well with Luke due to his ways with the force & wisdom heâs received from Master Yoda.
Another trilogy character I feel would make it into KH4 is Han Solo! The greatest pilot in the galaxy and his Millenium Falcon would definitely make an appearance. I feel Sora might like him because he's cool but I also feel Han might but heads with Riku just a bit. It's mostly because Riku himself is a bit impulsive in a way, despite being calm and collected heâs also willing to do things his way first. Maybe they both bicker about where to head next or who does what in the ship.
Another thing that might be cool is if Chewbacca were a character you could summon as an ally. Maybe he could launch the characters into the air for some kind of light blast attack or maybe he just goes around smashing obstacles and stuff for you? Kinda like Wreck-It-Ralph but hairier.
Okay next one! This is a bit less tied to KH4 actually, but I thought it would be a good idea for maybe a Birth by Sleep AU! Although real quick, I unfortunately barely started watching the Clone Wars a few weeks ago, but I really liked this idea. đ
But dw, I know at least the major parts & about Rex & Cody so hopefully this is okay. đ
đ
Okay anywho, the Clone Wars and/or The Bad Batch is next on my list! Since this period of Star Wars mostly takes place before the empire, or at least right when the Empire takes over, this might tie into Birth by Sleep a bit more since BBS is a KH prequel. Or at least maybe this can be a cool alternate world for KH4 since the Clone Wars series is so popular. Anyways though, I feel Aqua might fit a bit more into the Star Wars universe simply because I feel her calm and noble demeanor resembles that of a Jedi knight. After all, she is a Keyblade master, people might mistake her for a Jedi or at least force-sensitive.
Plus, it might be a interesting balance for the Clone Troopers, since I know that the Clones take their brotherhood very seriously. Aqua and the rest of the Keyblade wielders might compare that to their friendships.
A few other characters Iâd like to include is Ahsoka, Master Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi, although maybe the old man version of him too lol. But these are just a few ideas for the worlds as party members, but I can see the Keyblade weilders helping these guys along in their own personal stories maybe?
â§Ë àŒ âïœĄË New Areas & Places â§Ë àŒ âïœĄË
Tatooine - This planet I can see as a starting point for the gang, as Tatooine is like a main setting for most Star Wars content even though it's a pretty shady place. I can imagine quests such as helping villagers with their daily tasks, fixing ships, and keeping thugs off the peoples' backs as you navigate. Although, one fight I've heard people talk about is having either Jabba or Sarlacc as a boss fight. Plus, its where Luke Skywalker lives so it might work!
Endor - This one I feel might play a bigger role than Tatooine simply due to its role during the trilogy too. Plus, forest-y planets are also seen alot in Star Wars, which is I think to add mystery I guess? But maybe the gang ends up taking shelter on Endor and happen to run into, say, Princess Leia? And they have to help her and the rebels fight off the Empire!
Coruscant - This one also adds into the whole Clone Wars-BirthBySleep AU, but this might be an option in KH4. Since Coruscant is the capital of the galaxy, I can see maybe it being mentioned at least? Plus, since most of the gang doesn't live in a world with alot of technology other than the datascape, it would be intersting to see them marvel at all the technology there. Plus, maybe they mistake Coruscant for the city Sora's in? Since they don't really know about Shibuya yet.
Okay I think that's everything but thank you for listening! I hope this was fun! I really hope we get a Star Wars world in Kingdom Hearts but I'm thinking about making a few most posts like these for KH4, but anyways thank you!

unit 3 baby
just as uneddited as everything else. I'm tired.
Ahsoka rocked on her feet for a moment, her arms tucked across her chest. She worried about her lip for a moment before she spoke. âLook, I have a good excuse this time,â she explained
âFor yet another last minute lecture?â Rex gave the little padawan the flattest look sheâd ever receivedÂ
âIn my defense, I had an exam less than a ten-day ago and Iâve got another one already! I didnât have TIME to set up a class!â Ahsoka insisted, rocking forward to stand on her toes. Rex raised an eyebrow. âAnd I only have a few days until the final! I have five days until my final and one day until my next exam. I know weâve got a campaign coming up but I still have classes!âÂ
âAlright, Commander, we can do a lesson. Most of the boys are busy preparing for our next deployment right now, that includes myself. I'll see whoâs available, but itâll be a small class this time, most of the boys will be sad they missed it.â Rex sighed and rolled his shoulders as he relented.
âThatâs alright!â Ahsoka announced âIâll record it for them!â her captain could only shake his head as she smiled.
In the end, Jessie, Kix, and Echo had shown up, although theyâd been forced to take a room near medbay to compensate for the chaos of getting ready for the campaign.
âAlright, we're dealing with animals! And how they workâAhsoka chirped âall animals are similar in terms of how they exchange materials, obtain energy, synthesize complex molecules, detect and respond to signals and reproduce themselves. There are differences in the overall systems but they do those things. Thereâs a general pattern which goes, "cell, tissue organ, organ system.â
Kix muttered under his breath âcells make up tissues which make up organs which make up organs systemsâÂ
âYeah, exactly. Youâre probably going to know a lot about this unit already Kix because itâs a lot of stuff thatâs fairly useful for medical⊠uh medical stuffâ Ahsoka amdited, the clone in question nodded
âWell that just means I can help you memorize it all.â The pair smiled and Jessie gave Kix a playful shove.
âDo you know the four tissue types Kix?â
âUh, whas it muscle, nervous, epithelial, and connective?â
âYup!!â
Echo muttered âshow offâ under his breath, but refrained from saying anything further on the topicÂ
âI know what each tissue does too. Muscle tissue is for movement, nervous dose signaling, epithelial dose transport and connective tissue is weird because it includes stuff you think of as connective tissue, and also blood and stuff like that.âÂ
âRight again Kix, do you know what a normal temperature, heart rate, and blood pressure is?â
âStop asking questions only Kix knows the answer too.â Echo muttered
âReally, Iâm supposed you donât know that one Echo, seems like the bit of random information youâd have,â Jessie admitted
âYeah, I do know it, but the question was directed to Kix and I wouldnât be surprised if most of us donât know these things, even though weâre supposed to.â
âI do know them!â Jessie insisted
âWanna answer the question for me then?â Kix called, cutting off the argument at its head.Â
âOh yeah sure, uhh average resting body temperature is 35-28 or 95-100 depending on the temperature scale, resting heart-rate is 60-100 BPM, and blood pressure is about 120/80, for humans at least, I think we have a slower resting heart-rate, and blood pressure, and Iâm not sure at all about togruta, but Iâm sure Kix knows.â
âItâs in your file, Commander, I make it a point to read all the medical files of every species on the ship.â
âThis class is on Naboo so weâre focusing on humans and gungans, but Iâve got the gungan stuff memorized since it was easier than humans.â Ahsoka admitted. âAnyways, weâre going to cover the heat exchange now. There's four ways to exchange heat with the environment: radiation, evaporation, conduction, and convection. The first two are easy but conduction and convection is something I mix up a lot, conduction is heat exchange through direct contact whereas convection is a transfer of heat through a fluid, so air or water or something like that.âÂ
âAh, Iâm afraid I donât really have a good mnemonic to help with that one, I just sorta had to practice it.â Kix admitted
âYea, I was afraid of that, anyways thereâs something called countercurrent exchange which is a fairly easy concept to understand. They put two blood tubes next to each other and have one carrying the warm blood, and another has cold blood so the warm blood constantly cools. It can be used for other stuff as well, like for transfer of oxygen. Do you know the fluids in human blood?â
âYeahâ Kix cut in before anyone could âextracellular fluid, plasma, and intercellular fluid, youâve got those liquids two, Commander, the extracellular fluid is outside, and has plasma and interstitial fluid, intracellular fluids are separated by cell membranes. Blood is also made of red blood cells or erythrocytes, white blood cells leukocytes, and plateletsâ
âThat's true, although the details about blood cells are coming later. For now we cover the fluids and now we talk about fish, freshwater fish do not drink because theyâre in a hypotonic environment, and the saltwater fish drink seawater because theyâre in a hypertonic environment.â
âWhich one are gungans?â
âWell⊠they live in oceans, but theyâre amphibious so⊠neither?â Ahsoka shook her head âanyways next lecture.â
âNext lecture already?â
âThis unit has both the easiest and most complex stuff in the class, or at least, the easiest and most complex stuff so far.âÂ
âSo whatâs this chapter on?â
âCirculatory system tms, an open circulatory system as hemolymph, and what happens is that the creature basically dumps their blood into body cavities. It's got a low energy requirement but it also means they can't direct blood to specific areas. Blood is a connective tissue, as Kix mentioned previously, but it's got nutrients that wastes oxygen and carbon dioxide. Arteries carry blood away from the heart, veins carry blood towards the heart, so arterie away is a good way to remember it! Capillaries are exchange sites so blood can flow through a tissue or organ.âÂ
âArterie away is a great way to remember it, I didnât think of thatâ Kix admitted, and Jessie and Echo cheered. Causing Ahsoka to blush as she continued.Â
âSingle circulation vs double circulation, in single circulation which happens for fishes has a heart with a single filling chamber and a single exit chamber, the filling chamber is atrium and the exit is the ventricle, I need to remember that for later. Anyways in double circulation which is crocodilians, birds, and mammals, has four chambers and two circuits, the pulmonary and systemic circulation, amphibians and most reptiles have an intermediate type of circulation so itâs a mix of both, Iâd bet this is what gungans have, but Iâm not entirely sure.â
âAre you not going in depth on gugnans?â
âTo be honest, weâre not going that in-depth about any species, the only reason I even know what applies to humans and what's generalized for mamilains is that everyone ends up learning a little human biology by proxy. Besides, thereâs a lot of debate about the taxonomy of nonhumansâŠ. Anyways this is where we get to the parts of blood Kix, wanna help me with this?â
âSure commander!â
âThereâs 55% what in blood?â
âPlasmaâ
âAnd 44%?â
âErythrocytes, or red blood cells.â
âThe two remaining ones are both less than one percent.â
âLeukocytes, white blood cells, and platelets.âÂ
âPerfect!â Ahsoka chimed and the other two clones muttered that Kix was a show off and huffed in playful faux irritation. Kix preened despite himself and continued right along.
âPlatelets stick to each other and broken vessels to make a plug if thereâs a hole, and thrombocytes are intact cells used in formation of blood clots but those are other vertebrates not humans, well, it depends, Togruta have platelets.âÂ
âWhile youâre showing off, do you want to go over the path blood takes in the heart?âÂ
Kix smiled wryly âof course, deoxygenated blood goes to the superior and inferior venae cavae, and then to the right atrium, then to the right AV valve, then the right ventricle, semilunar valve, pulmonary trunk and then to the lungs. By contrast Oxygenated blood goes through the pulmonary veins, the left atrium, the left AV valve, the left ventricle then the semilunar valve, aorta and to the body.â
âPerfect, Iâve been having trouble with that, I think itâs just something I need to memorize. Anyways, wanna know something interesting? Vertebrates have a myogenic heart, it receives signals from the SA node and the pulse is taken in the AV node, and the heart can keep beating after you die, or outside the body if you do it right.â
âCreepyâ Echo muttered
âCardiac cycle next.â Ahsoka muttered âthereâs two phases, another thing I just need to memorize, the diastole is when the muscle relaxes and the chamber is filling, and the systole muscle is contracting and the camber is emptying.â
âYeah, we were just trained for rote memorization, Iâm not necessarily one for mnemonics' ' Kix admitted.Â
âPressure is highest during the ventricular systole, and the lowest during the diastole. And weâve gotta talk about electrocardiograms now or ECG or EKGs so thatâs exciting. The P wave is the atrial excitation, the QRS complex is ventricular excitation and the T wave is resetting the ventricles back to their resting state.â Ahsoka took a breath. The lymphatic system returns interstitial fluid to the blood, and the lymph nodes act like filters. Veins have valves so vein valves. Oh now we have math! Blood flow is equal to the change in pressure over resistance. Arterioles have smooth muscles in walls that are under the control of the autonomic nervous system. And we move on to respiration.â
âWow youâre just going over all the topics in this unit.â Echo muttered
âAt least itâs not plant sex again.â all three shuttered, that unit was a nightmare Ahsoka cleared her throat âalright, so the exchange of O2 and CO2, t depends on how soluble glasses are in water, if thereâs partial pressure itâs the proportion of the total pressure exeter by a gas in a mixture and partial pressure is the force behind diffusion. On Naboo the air is composed of 78% nitrogen 21% oxygen 1% carbon dioxide and other gasses. At sea level the atmospheric pressure is 760 mmHg, pressure and volume are inversely related and this is called Boyleâs law, supposedly someone on Alderon came up with that a few thousand years ago, but no oneâs quite sure who Boyle was. Alright! The path of air through the mammalian system, Kix wanna try it out?â
âMouth or nose, pharynx, larynx, trachea, bronchi, bronchioles, alveoli; the alveoli are where gas exchange happens, and each lung has a pleural sac which is a double layer of thin connective tissues to protect the lungs. The inner layer is attached to the surface of the lungs and the other layer is attached to the chest wall. Humans aren't great at using their whole lung capacity, and tidal volume is the mount of air breathed in and out at rest itâs about 0.5 Lâ
âThanks Kix! Ok, oxygen is dissolved in bloody fluids, and respiratory pigments are oxygen binding proteins, in vertebrate hemoglobin has four polypeptide subunits, each unit has heme molecules and an atom of iron is bound to the heme. Breathing is controlled by the respiratory center in the brain, so if you die your lungs wonât keep going, and while most of the time breathing is automatic we can also control it, unlike what happens with the heart which we canât continuously control, thank the force.â
âYeah, thatâd be a nightmare,â Jessie agreedÂ
âYeah, speaking of nightmares, the digestive system. We need organic and inorganic substances to survive, and digestion happens in four phases: ingestion, digestion, absorption and egestion. There are five organic nutrients, five macronutrients and two micronutrients. Anyone know what they are?â
âMacronutrients are carbohydrates, lipids and proteins, micronutrients are nucleic acids, and vitamins!â Jessie called before anyone could interrupt him. Echo huffed and Kix rolled his eyes.Â
âExtra energy is stored in glycogen for the short term and triglycerides in the long term. Most long term energy is stored as lipids which are fats and oils, saturated lipids are solid at room temperature and unsaturated lipids are liquid at room temperature. Catabolism is when the subunits are released by digestion into circulation and anabolism is when cells use these subunits as a building block to assemble the macromolecules. Does anyone know the types of essential nutrients there are?â
âEssential amino acids, essential fatty acids, vitamins, and mineralsâ Echo cut off, a little too proud of himself.Â
âThe essential amino acids are Methionine, valine, threonine, phenylalanine, leucine, isoleucine, tryptophan, lysine, and histidine.â Kix interruptedÂ
âOk wheel thereâs two essential fatty acids, Linoleic acid and alpha linoleic acids.â Jessie cut in
âBoysâ Ahsoka muttered
âThere's two types of vitamins!â Echo interrupted âwater or lipid soluble.â
Kix spoke over his brother âthe water soluble vitamins are biotin, folic acid, niacin which is B3, pantothenic or B5, vitamin B1 and B2 and B6 and B12 and vitamin CâÂ
âBoysâ Ahsoka said a little louder
âThe lipid soluble ones are vitamin A, D, E and Kâ Jessie bragged
âBoys!â Ahsoka sighed
âOk well-â
âThe required minerals are Calcium, Magnesium, Phosphorus, and Sodium which are needed in large amounts!â Ahsoka cut off, and her trooper ducked their heads in embarrassment.
âSorry commanderâ they all muttered, although they glared at each other from the corners of their eyes as they spokeÂ
âThe minerals needed in small amounts are Chromium, cobalt, copper, Iodine, Iron, Manganese, and Zincâ Ahsoka continued, she shook her head but couldn't help the smile that lit up her face. âYou guys can participate--I want you to participate, but I do need to explain things, thatâs how Iâm learning this by teaching it, itâs one of the best ways to learn.âÂ
âI know Commander,â Echo huffed. âWe just got⊠competitiveâ
âI know, and Iâm impressed by how well you guys know this, Iâm sure you would ace this exam. Iâm not so sure about myself, but I know you don't really need this class, I do.â
âIf Iâm being honest CommanderâŠâ Jessie trailed off âI went over some of this stuff before the lesson, because I wanted to be able to participate more.â Echo made a face and nodded.
âR-really?â Ahsoka asked.
âOh yeah, the boys have been in and out of med-bay for the past week, they all wanted to be more active during your lectures.â Kix confirmed, âitâs been useful for me too.âÂ
Ahoska flushed, she hadnât realized just how much her troopers looked forward to this. âI-I appreciate it, just⊠maybe donât get carried away with it next timeâ she cleared her throat âuh-anyways, most animals have alimentary canals which are tubes with special regions and openings at opposite ends, they have smooth muscle, epithelial cells, and regions with acidic environments that can be separated from the non acidic environments. If you want to show off, can anyone tell me which parts of the digestive system are accessory structures?â
âTongue, teethâ Kix started
âSalivary glands, liver, gallbladderâ Echo continued
âAnd the pancreasâ Jessie finished.Â
âPerfectly, the accessory organs are the mouth, pharynx, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, rectum and anus. Birds have something called a crop, this allows them to store food, theyâre in most birds and a lot of invertebrates, the food is softened by a watery secretion and then later they can actually eat it. Pepsinogen is secreted in its inactive form and is changed to pepsin in the stomach. Birds have two parts of their stomach, the gizzard which grinds food, and the proventriculus which secretes acid and enzymes.â
âBirds are weird,â Jessie squinted.
Ahsoka nodded. âUnfortunately we need to move onto something thatâs mildly gross, ruminant animals, which sort of digest things twice, tis allows for the digestion of cellulose which vertebrates cannot break down, the rumen and the reticulum act as storage and processing sites, the osman absorbs some water and ions, and the abomasum is the âtrue stomachâ where avid and stuff happens most digestion and absorption occurs in the small intestine, and it's covered in cillus which are little hairs that increase the surface area.âÂ
âThat makes it so it can better asrob stuff right?â Jessie asked
âThatâs right, the Duodenum is acidic, the arrival of chyme triggers the release of hormones that regulate the pancreas, then the cholecystokinin stimulates the pancreas and liver to secrete a mix of digestive enzymes into the intensten, secretin stimulates the pancreas to release bicarbonate. In omnivores most ingested carbohydrates are starch cellulose and glycogen. Pancreatic amylase digests nearly all starch and glycogen. The liver secretes bile salts that emulsify lipids into small drops, most ingested lipids are formed of triglycerides, and they break down in the pancreatic lipase.â Ahsoka huffed âdoes anyone know what Insulin and Glucagon does?â
Kix smiled âregulates blood nutrient levels. When blood glucose rises insulin is released and stimulates cells to take up glucose.âÂ
âPerfect, and now we more unto the excretory system,â
âAnd you said the rumen was gross.â Echo muttered
âThis isnât that bad, donât worryâ Ahsoka muttered âok so the excretory system includes all tissues and organs of animals that function to remove soluble wastes from the body and to regulate water and iron ballance so it includes the gills, lungs, skin and kidneys. Nitrogenous wastes that are usually found in either ammonium, urea, or uric acid, they go from most toxic to lease toxic, but inversely they also go from least energy necessary to most energy necessary, most aquatic animals have ammonia, where mammals have urea and birds, insects and most reptiles have uric acid.âÂ
Ahsoka continued âthe kidney filters organs that eliminates wastes in all vertebrates, and in mammals the urinary system includes the kidneys ureters, urinary bladder, and urethra. Weâre going to talk about filtration that occurs in the renal corpuscle, then reabsorption and secretion which occur in the renal tube. Thereâs a thing called a bowman's capsule, and itâs uh a little ball thing in the center of the sture, the tubule is organized into the proximal tubule, loop of henle and distal tubule. Thereâs some useful solutes that are reabsorbed from the filtrate, like Ca Na K, Cl, and HCO3 as well as nutrients like glucose, amino acids and vitamins. Aldosterone is a hormone produced by adrenal glands that regulates Na and K levels by stimulating Na reabsorption and K secretion. Antidiuretic Hormone ADH acts to increase the number of aquaporins which lets more water in.â
âThatâs a lot of chemicals, that seems like a lot to remember for your exam Commander.â Jessie muttered.Â
âThatâs alright, weâre onto the last section which is the easiest, and itâs population ecology.â
âWhat exactly is ecology again?â Jessie asked
âItâs the scientific study of interaction, well interactions between living organisms and living stuff and their environments. It goes in layers, individuals, then the population which is a group of individuals, and a community which is all the interacting populations of different species in a specific area. Populations have different grouping, Nabboean water wolves travel in packs, but mose forage alone. Their patterns affect the ability to count them which means we donât always know how many individuals are in the area.â
âThat seems like that's inconvenient.âÂ
âYea, it is, so scientists do a lot to try and figure it out, like the mark-recapture method, pitfall traps, mist nets and baited traps. Animals can learn to avoid traps or may be drawn to food bated traps which ruins the randomness of the trapping methods. Mark recapture involves a little mathâ all the troopers groaned you have to capture tag and release animals, then reset the traps and see how many recaptures you get, then you multiply the number of marked individuals by the number caught the second time and divide it by the amount of marked individuals caught. The mark recapture method relies on three methods, that those marked are random and still reenter the population to distribute themselves randomly, that the animals will not lose their marks, and that no one will be born or die or leave between rounds.â
âThose seem like some very strict assumptions, not all of them seem feasibleâ Kix muttered
âNo, but we have to do our best, thereâs no perfect way to do this, anyways thereâs also demography which is the the study of figuring out birth, death and fertility rates.thereâs also different types of growth, where the exponential growth just goes up for ages and the logistic growth goes up and then bounces around a line. One of the more confusing topics in this entire unit is the density dependent, density independent thing, where if something is density independent the population will be more affected when the population gets bigger, the reverse which is just inverse density dependent is a measurement of mortality so if the mortality decreases its an inverse density dependent factor. And now we have species interactions, competition is -/- commensalism is -/0 mutualism is +/+ commensalism is +/0 and predation is +/-, I think we all know what a habitat is but does anyone wanna explain it?â
âItâs the place where animals live. Their ideal environment.â Echo chimed.Â
âCorrect!â Ahsoka chimed âresource partitioning is when different species have different areas of resource use, interspecific competition can reduce the overlap of resource use. And thatâs the last of it.â
âThatâs it?â Kix asked
âYeah, Iâve gotta study on my own now, wish me luck.â Ahsoka beamed.
âGood luck commander!â all three clones chimed.Â

*gasp* DRAGON DIN? OF MY OWN DESIGN? đ€© Eek thank you for drawing him! Iâm so glad other people seem to like this crossover! I should stop being surprised, but I never expect other people to be into my niche AUs. A pleasant surprise for sure.
As for my thoughts, you didnât have to draw dragon Din to get me to yap lol. I would have done that if anyone even IMPLIED they maybe wanted to hear my AU ideas. But hey, Iâll take a Dragon Din bribe đđ
The Bad Batch:
Iâve actually thought about little about this already, and even asked my IG followers about it. But in my AU all the clones are MudWings, and the Batchers are too. EXCEPT they are MudWing hybrids. Each of them are half MudWing, half another dragon species. My idea for this is that all the clones are made by a âKaminoanâ (some SeaWing) who uses an old Animus object to clone Jango Fett (the original MudWing) and make the clones. Something along those lines at least. And either thereâs a weird blood moon/eclipse during the cloning process of the batch which leads to them being hybrids (it was unintentional), or like Dooku (Jedi still have Force powers in this AU) does something to their eggs that turns them into hybrids. Speaking of them being hybrids, their mixes are:
Hunter - NightWing/MudWing
Wrecker - MudWing/SandWing
Crosshair - IceWing/MudWing
Tech - SkyWing/MudWing
Echo - just MudWing (he was a reg) but he does have his prosthetics still after Skako Minor
Omega -Â Â just a MudWing BUT sheâs an Albino MudWing (like Rex)
I choose NightWing mix for Hunter because I picture his design to be mostly MudWing looking (with a slimmer NightWing build) but half of his body is black (mimicking his canon half skull tattoo). Plus his âNightWingâ abilities kinda work as his enhanced-senses from canon. He doesnât have any REAL NightWing abilities. BUT he has a very light form of âfuture tellingâ that allows him to âseeâ a few moments into the future to tell when, how and where someone MIGHT attack. But itâs not 100% and he canât see more than 60 seconds ahead. He canât REALLY tell the future.
Wrecker is a SandWing Mix just because I kinda didnât know what else for him. Heâs the most âMudWingâ like in my mind, so I didnât think any other dragon species really matched him. But the desert durability of the SandWings seemed to be good for Wrecker. Heâs the teamâs tough guy (with a sweet heart).
Crosshair is a IceWing mix because what else would he be? The paler colors? The cold personality? Duh, he had to be a IceWing Mix. Plus it could maybe add to his grumpy personality. Heâs always in a bad mood because he has to live in hot/temperate biomes when heâs basically half Arctic animal. Heâs sweating his ass off lol.
Tech is a SkyWing mix because heâs the pilot (In canon)! Techâs big thing (aside from being the technology guy) was being the teamâs pilot and being good at racing! He HAS to be a SkyWing mix to me! Heâs the best at flying! Plus it seems like a lot of SkyWings are grumpy in personality, and Tech is absolutely one of the grumpiest/snarkiest of the team (maybe excluding Crosshair).
Echo is just a normal MudWing because he was just a regular clone before he joined the Batchers. However Skako Minor (or its AUâs equivalent) still happens in this AU and he gets a bunch of augmentations/prosthetics. Heâs also just a lot more scarred and paler than the average clone.
Omega is ALSO just a MudWing, not a mix. BUT sheâs albino! So all white with pale eyes! (Just like Rex in this AU). Plus in my AU sheâs an undiscovered Animus.
And speaking of Animus, I need to talk about my thoughts on the Jedi/Force Sensitives/Animus in this AU:
So in this AU, being Force Sensitive and being an Animus are two separate things. Though you can be both at the same time, but you donât need to be both to be one of them. Force sensitivity still works the same in this AU to canon. Some dragons are just born with connections to the force (and hence can use powers). Many of them are taken in by the Jedi. The Jedi work basically like how the Jade Mountain Academy does in WOF. They adopt all force sensitive dragonetts from all tribes and take them to the Jade Mountain (this worldâs Jedi Temple) to be trained. Itâs the only place in the continent that has dragons from all tribes regularly living together. The Jedi arenât aligned with any tribe specifically, but I imagine this AUâs version of the Clone Wars is like âThe War of SandWing Successionâ in WOF. Where all the tribes align too one of two sides (Separatist vs Republic) and the Jedi end up aligning with the Republic (I havenât decided which tribes are part of which group). âBeing Animus, though, is separate from being Force Sensitive or Jedi, and works the same to WOF canon. Animusâs are just born with the power (itâs relatively hereditary), and anything they say becomes real, but the more they use the power they slowly lose their mind and become violent. Being an Animus is VERY VERY rare, and is thought to be an extinct ability even. Long ago the blood lines that carried the Animus ability were killed off. BUT this isnât exactly true. In this AU Anakin Skywalker is the first Animus born in centuries! A force sensitive Animus at that! Which is why the Jedi are so scared to take him in at first. Heâs super powerful, and the Tribes might attack the Jedi if they find out they are harboring the first Animus in centuries. I also imagine at this time, itâs been so long since Animusâs have been around, and so much information about them has been destroyed. So the Jedi actually donât know about how Animus who use their powers start to lose their minds (which comes back to bite them as obv Anakin uses his powers and eventually falls to the darkside, loses his mind, and becomes Darth Vader). âI also Mentioned Omega is a unknown Animus, and I imagine in this AU, part of the Batchersâ adventures include finding out sheâs a Animus, hiding that fact from everyone to protect her, and trying to find out more information to help train her.
âBut anyways, OMG THATS A LOT OF YAPPING. I hope this was what you were hoping for? These are my more thought out ideas for this AU. I still havenât thought out things like Palpatine or which Tribes are aligned with which Star Wars groups (other than Iâve decided the NightWings are The Children Of The Watch). But hopefully that will satisfy ur want for lore for a bit. Because itâs all I have rn lol.
Thank you again for the BEAUTIFUL art and interest in my stuff! People wanting to hear more on my silly crossovers always makes my day!

Mandalorian characters as Wings Of Fire dragons? Uh, YES PLEASE.
Welcome to stage 5 of "MoonTuna draws the most self indulgent nonsense that no one asked for".
But anyways, yeah! My rambling thoughts on the characters and this AU:
Din Djarin (NightWing):
I imagine Din as NightWing because in this AU I picture the Death Watch/Children Of The Watch as the NightWing Tribe. And after the Death Watchâs war against the other Mandalorians, they go into hiding on the volcano island (like the NightWings do in the WOF books).
And Din is the tribeâs Beroya (Hunter), so heâs one of the few selected from the tribe to leave the island through the hidden tunnels to go back to Pyrrhia to hunt food for the tribe.Â
During one of these trips I imagine he find Grogu! Who in this AU is a human (scavenger)! Because if everyone is dragons in this AU, then it just makes sense that Grogu is the human instead lol. Plus then Grogu is still small enough to be in a satchel Din carries around, like in the show.
But Grogu still has his Jedi powers in this AU. Which has never been seen before in humans. Thus âThe Mandalorianâ type shenanigans where Din takes Grogu around trying to figure out WTH is up with this infant human.
(Also side note: in this AU I still picture there being Jedi/force sensitive dragons (the Jedi Order probably works similar to The Jade Mountain Academy. Where the Jedi are from all the tribes and live in the Jade Mountain.Â
Also in this AU NightWings DO have their mind reading/future seeing powers. But like in the books, they loose them once they move to the island and donât know why.
ALSO ALSO Animus still exists! But they work more like Force Sensitive where itâs just born in some dragons, and isnât necessarily hereditary. And itâs SUPER rare. So rare that many believe Animusâs donât exist. (I imagine Anakin Skywalker is the first Animus in centuries))
Cobb Vanth (Sand Wing):
Cobb is super straight forward. Heâs a SandWing because heâs a cowboy from Tatooine. Of course heâs SandWing. Though in this AU I imagine heâs a lot like Thorn from the books, in that heâs the Marshal/leader of a town (Freetown) in the desert that isnât under the Sand Kingdomâs rule. Also I imagine heâs one of the first dragons Din meets when he goes out on his journey to find information on Grogu. (Since the tunnels from the NightWing Island to the Rain Forest to the Sand Kingdom are all connected basically).
Boba Fett (MudWing):
Okay so Boba just had to be a MudWing. He had to be. Though it was less because of Bobaâs character and more because heâs a clone. The clones all being close to each other, having battalions, and calling each other brothers? Uh, thatâs like MudWings in the books to a TEA. So yeah, the clone troopers in this AU are MudWings, hence Boba also is a MudWing lol. Though I also liked it because older Boba Fett (and the older clones we see in the shows) are a lot bulkier and muscled with age. They get DILF bodies is what Iâm saying lol (except for like Hunter apparently, he gets to keep his twink dad body). So the big MudWing body type works well for Boba and the clones.Â
Fennec Shand (RainWing):
Fennec to me was a RainWing MOSTLY because as an assassin, her being able to camouflage and make herself look like other dragons was super RainWing coded. Plus having the subtle but deadly RainWing venom just matched her energy so much. Plus I love the idea that Fennec is kinda a âoutcastâ in RainWing society. Her ârestingâ colors are dark, she knows how to fight and kill and LIKES it. She left the Rain Forest because the RainWing life style was nothing like her personality (very Glory from WOF like). Plus it plays into the idea that no one expects her to be dangerous or competent because sheâs a RainWing, and then she murders you violently while still looking like a goddess (is my Fennec love showing yet? lol). Plus itâs why she and Boba get along, he treats her from the start like the dangerous criminal she is, and not like some ditsy RainWing. Also idk how Boba and Fennec taking over Jabba the Huttâs palace works in this AU, but if so Fennec is definitely the one mainly running the show from behind the scenes. She was born to micromanage.

Since you all like my post on how Din does Keldabe Kisses (the mando helmet forehead touch) heres some for Sabine
Keldabe Kiss: a gentler form of the kov'nyn ("head strike") used to express affection to another person when one or both Mandalorian(s) are in full armor, done by touching or tapping the foreheads of their helmets together. The keldabe kiss in particular is used as a substitute for kissing (kissing on the mouth, cheek, etc) and is often used as a greeting between Mandalorians. Keldabe kisses can vary by length or strength, ranging from prolonged forehead (helmet) touches to quick violent headbutts. Keldabe kisses are most often done between loved ones, which includes friends, family members, and lovers.
She ABSOLUTELY teaches Jacen about it. Sabine doesnt do these often but she'll do it practically all the time for Jacen. Its very cute. She'll squat down until he can reach her head and he'll come in relatively fast for someone who's not wearing a helmet. Every time they connect one or both of them says "bonk!"
Pre-Battle of Lothal when the Ghost family was all together she didnt do it at all really. That doesnt mean no one ever did it to her, knowingly or unknowingly
Kanan knew what it was, and told Hera about it. Ezra kinda picked up that it was a Thingâąïž but doesnt actually know anything about it. Zeb notices when it happens but doesnt give it much thought. Chopper actually gets the most of them and he has no clue
Whenever Sabine would sit on the floor or crouch next to Chopper, sometimes (usually if he made her laugh) she'd lean a little bit forward and bump her helmet on his dome.
One time Zeb picks Sabine up in a bear hug and ends up with the side of his head on the top of her helmet. Its not a keldabe kiss but thats the closest they ever got
One time Sabine was excited to see Ezra after a fight, one where they were worried he was hurt, and she did a not very gentle keldabe kiss to the side of his refurbished stormtrooper helmet when they were all taking turns hugging him. She gives him similar treatment when they finally reunite post-Battle of Lothal
When Hera would leave the cockpit for her sleep cycle and she left Sabine and Ezra in charge, she'd often give them a kiss goodnight. She'd kiss the top of Ezra's head before pressing her forehead to the top of Sabine's helmet (if she was wearing it. If not she got a kiss too). Its not technically a keldabe kiss, but the intention and general gesture are the same
The first time she "bonked" Kanan it was when they were disguised as stormtroopers. They were trying to hug in victory but all the armor got in the way. They ended up just grabbing the insides of each others elbows and quickly bumping their heads together. Which is in fact a keldabe kiss, Sabine just didnt know that Kanan knew what that was. They have a few more over the years. Once Sabine was sad/upset and sitting at the table, so Kanan talked to her and when he got up to leave he leaned down to press his forehead to hers for a moment. Neither of them were wearing a helmet, but Sabine knew what he was doing. Their last one was done after Kanan was blinded. She gave him a hard bump to his metal eye-covering. They both laughed.
She doesnt get many when she moves back to the Wren Stronghold. Before she left for the academy, her dad would do it all the time to her and Tristan and even Ursa. It wasnt always forehead to forehead, but there was a lot of helmet bumping initiated by him (forehead to top of helmet, side of helmet to side of helmet when hugging, etc). He was the only one to give her any for the first few months after she came back
Clan Wren likes to bump helmets with returning members (if both are suited up). She remembers when they finally let her back in on that. She teared up a little inside her helmet
Ursa has always been more distant when it came to giving physical affection (she is mostly okay with receiving it, if its in private) outside of pats on the back or shoulder. When Sabine returned she was very surprised to (eventually) get a hug from her. These days they really only bump heads as a greeting when they havent seen each other in a while
Her and Tristan never really do it. They've done it twice in their lives and both times it occurred on a battlefield

Clone Simps in the Star Wars Universe Part 2
I'm glad people liked the first one so I decided to add to it. Yes the simps in this galaxy are much like the simps in our galaxy, but where's the fun if the clones don't know about it?
The council tries to keep the whole 'clone simps' on the down-low (typical government).
But the clones eventually do find out, but each battalion finds out in a different way.
Shock Troopers
Thire is tackled to the ground, and what they thought was an act of assault actually turned out to be a girl unable to express her love in a healthy way.
She even managed to yell "take me, daddy" at the guard restraining her.
Needless to say the Corrie Guards won't ever forget her.
501st (& Anakin & Ahsoka)
The 501st found out because two civilian men somehow managed to get clone trooper uniforms and sneak into their ranks.
They were being complete dumb asses at the time so Rex almost didn't notice them.
They would have gotten away with it, expect one of them sneezed and took off his helmet to clean it out.
After they were found out, they were questioned by Anakin.
"THE GENERAL SKYWALKER!"
Anakin is use to women fawning over him, but having two fan boys telling him how cool he is, is almost too much.
...almost too much.
After an hour of "interrogations" (most of the questions came from the fan boys) Ahsoka has to intervene.
Expect for "IT'S AHSOKA TANO!"
This goes on for a few more hours with various clone troopers coming and going.
When the day ends, they are released and told not to do it again. Because-
"How can we punish such caring and supportive citizens?"
212th
Shipping is a thing and Cody and Obi-Wan are the last to know about it.
The rumors fly around the Negotiator.
No one knows who started them or who found out first, but they are everywhere now...
"Did you hear about the commander and the general?" "Is that allowed?" "Is it even true?"
And with little else to talk about (they have little to no social life away from eachother) the rumors only grow.
"You know, they do stand awfully close to each other." "Did you hear how he told the commander to 'take care'?" "I thought jedi couldn't be in relationships." "I heard someone say they saw Cody coming from the general's quarters the other night." "No, you're making that up." "I'm serious. I over heard it in the cafeteria."
"Well, I'm happy for them." "Yeah, I think they make a good couple." -seemed to be the final thoughts about it.
Of course, no one thought to ask either of them if it were true.
They're not dating, but Cody is a little more than mortified that his secret crush got out, and is currently all over the internet. Last time he tells Rex anything in confidence.
Obi-Wan has a completely different reaction when he comes across the ship.
"You're real name is 'Kote'?"
"Yes, sir."
"Huh. Interesting."

Any clone in steel grey is automatically howled at.
Anyone not part of the wolf pack is confused as hell.
But Commander Wolffe doesn't realize how popular he is until he gets fan mail.
Wtf?
He was going to throw it away, but Plo Koon stops him.
"I think you should write her back," the jedi says when he finds out the sender is only 12.
Wolffe complies but immediately regrets it when-
"Oh my force! Wolffe replies to fan mail!"
"Remember, you did the right thing, and that young lady will always look up to you," his general tells him.
Still Wolffe wishes he didn't have a 1000+ letters to respond to.
Luckily he doesn't have to answer them alone since over half of them are addressed to the Wolf Pack as a whole.

There's fanart of Aayla pegging Bly. (No, I'm dead serious. Its real and on Twitter somewhere.)
Bly spends most of his day worrying that one of his men, or worse his general, will see it.
He tells himself that if anyone sees it, he'll just deny its actually him
"We're clones. That could be anybody."
"I DON'T CARE IF WE HAVE THE SAME TATTOOS! THAT'S CLEARLY SOMEONE ELSE!"
Little does he know, Aayla's already seen it.
No, she didn't screenshot it. She did.

The Clone Wars 1x5 âRookiesâ Reaction Take 2
STILL SCREAMING
(I wrote this as I rewatched the episode, pausing as I went so that's why it's probably disjointed and all over the shop). Edit: Adding gifs to this because I can and I feel like it suits the more live-blogging style that these types of reaction posts end up being.
Lmao @ the GAR radio hologram
Omg Echo. Itâs baby Echo! Look at him and his reg manuals!
Hello Sergeant Reed Richards and your lovely silver temples. Is this Sergeant O'Niner? More silver fox clones plz.
Are his eyebrows grey as well?
Deep Thoughts with Kenobi
Lol look at Obi Wan, so happy to see his space husband. Or its just the dated animation. But weâre all delusional here so letâs go with the first option.
Ah so this is where the âGood man, that Codyâ line comes from.
Rip not getting to know more about the lovely clone with the facial hair. Was this Droidbait?
Oof, foreshadowing for Hevy rip
Rip Sentry
Oh hey Fives has his little 5 Aurebesh tattoo already!
Droids! Well that was subtle lmao
I know this is very early on in TCW but there are some funky accents going on with the clones.
Rip Sergeant Silver Fox
Ventress is hilarious. Sheâs so completely beyond OTT. Ridiculous. I love it.
The entire comm exchange between Cody and the commando droid pretending to be a clone. CACKLING
Droid: Roger roger Rex: *narrows eyes*
Lol @ Cody palming off his problems to Rex. Have fun being in charge of this one!
âThe reg manual says that the nextââ Omg Echo.Â
Rip Cutup. What a gruesome way to go.
âWhat the hell was that?â A âbadâ word? In my animated childrenâs television show?!
âAh, that was an eel.â Yes thank you Echo
âNow, thatâs why we have the regulation not to go outside.â omg I love him
Lol @ the fanfare when Cody and Rex turn up. The heroes have arrived.
I know Iâve said this before but Rex looks all special with is kama and captainâs pauldron and different helmet and whatever else and then Cody just gets some golden painted bits of his armour and 2 aerials? What is he, a designer retro TV?
Omg the droid pretending to be a clone. You can just tell the animators had a field day with that one.
Thank you for visiting and have a safe trip back? Question mark?
Gif from this post by @dindjarism
âA droid attack flare?â OMG REX DID NOT HESITATE. Even Cody was shocked.
At this point, âRoger, rogerâ is basically enough to send Rexâs spidey senses into overdrive.
âWoah, Rex! What the heck are you doing?â An even less of a âbadâ word? In my animated childrenâs television show?!Â
Also lawl @ Rexâs drawled âRelaxâ after shooting the droid disguised as a clone at point blank range.
Does Cody not have his gold paint yet?! His armour looked distinctly grey, though they are on a moon so the lighting might be why it looks grey.
âOff the platform!â Rex you just yeeted yourself. And Cody. You actually want to be yeeted donât you Rex?
Cody is the kind of friend who would jump off a cliff if his friend said to.
What happened on Tibrin? I must know. Is this The Clone Wars version of what happened in Budapest? Will we never know?
Itâs a tiny little exchange but you can really tell from the change in voice how familiar Rex and Cody are with each other already.
Also that shot of Rex after he lands from their lines under the platform is absolutely a hero shot and hero pose. Thereâs quite a few of these throughout the episode and you can really tell that this is absolutely the introduction episode of Rex. So many moments throughout this episode exist just to show what an absolute BAMF he is. Seeing as the character was originally supposed to be Alpha-17 it makes sense. You can really Rexâs jaig eyes really prominently throughout this episode too. Makes sense, seeing as theyâre on the front of his helmet, but it almost feels even more emphasised that youâd expect.
Sun bonnets!
Rex just turning around and one shotting the Rishi eel like itâs nothing omg sir stop
Gif from this post by @dindjarism
Echo gets his Rishi eel blood hand print from Rex! Seminal moment unlocked!
Lmao at Anakin and Obi Wan snarking about their clones.
Rex calls Echo kid! I AM WAILING!
Rex old boy? Since when was Cody briâish?
Rex, your ideas are as bad as Anakinâs.
The whole scene with trying to get in the blast doors and Rex kneeling there holding up the decapitated head of the commando droid? CACKLING
Cody is so done with your nonsense Rex
That was the most badass delivery of âRoger. Roger.â I have ever seen and weâre only 5 episodes in.
Aw Echo is already worried about Fives.
Rex is basically the personification of âso anyway, I started blastingâ at this point.
Rex, Sir, you did not have to go so hard in taking apart that droid with your bare hands
<insert line about hell in a kids tv show here>
Is this the first hero shot we get of Rex, Cody and Echo together? Sure looks like it! Look at Rex looking all noble in the background.
More foreshadowing for Hevy rip
Closest thing we clones have to a home. SOBBING
The little nod between Rex and Cody.
Random gronk droid.
"Didnât say please." There are so many good cheesy one liners in this episode it's like an 80s action movie. I love it.
"We could use a jedi about now." I think Cody is missing his space husband.
That admiral definitely feels like a stereotype of a posh british officer from WWII or similar
Oh damn this is Hevy's last stand. What a way to go out.
Hevy nooooo what are you doing
âI donât like your tone rookieâ Rex was that a growl?!
Hevy just yeeting the machine gun at the droids.
Noooo Hevy
"I donât." Wow those were some last words. Rip Hevy
Gif from this post by @theclonewarsdaily
Naw Echo and Fives getting medals. And joining the 501st! Also their completely in sync salute and about turn was the definition of crisp. I know itâs probably just the same animation copied and pasted but we can ignore that and focus on how itâs totally cause theyâre the twins in their batch.
OMG THAT EPISODE. MY HEART. CLONES. THE CLONES HAVE MY HEART. EVERYTHING FOR THE CLONES.Â
I think Iâm going to have to go back and watch some episodes again because when I first watched this I a) didnât remember most of it and b) hadnât started to fall in love with the clones. I should imagine coming back and watching important and memorable episodes again after the finale will have another different meaning to it all as well. Though, given what happens in the finale, I might need to wait a bit. Maybe Iâll come back to it after watching Rebels and a few other things I want to catch up on. I did realise though that I did actually watch this episode when I started watching The Clone Wars, I just didnât remember most of it. The only bits that I remembered were when the 4 clones (Echo, Fives, Heavy and Cutup, I think) escaped through the tunnels to outside the base, right before Cutup got eaten by that eel.Â

I don't think its an issue limited to just adult reboots but reboots in general . Alot of them come across as profit driven works instead of a project done with a genuine love and respect for the source material and its fans.
The first example that comes to my mind is Amazon's Rings of Powers. They disrespected so much of tolkiens original work and even Peter Jacksons' trilogies, to the point where it doesn't feel like a tolkien work but a knock-off. They took extremely complex characters like galadriel and reduced them down to a mere shadow of themselves. In the books and even in both trilogies, galadriel is a power driven character, she doesn't stay in middle Earth to go on a quest to avenge a relative, she stays because she wants to rule over her own kingdom, that's why it's so significant in the fellowship of the ring when she refuses frodos offer to give her the one ring. The hobbit trilogy may not have been perfect but it certainly respected its fandom more than rop. Pj included little references that he knew the fans would appreciate, for example when elrond is riding into imladris in an unexpected journey you can see 3 other elves riding behind him not wearing helmets, one has golden hair the other two have black hair, signifying it is Glorfindel and elronds twin sons elladan and elrohir, which was great detail considering in the fellowship of the ring they just replaced Glorfindel with arwen. Another detail is the character lindir, who appeared in the lotr films but was unnamed, some of the fans however grew attached to this small side character and named him figwit.
I don't know whether you could class any of the post ot star wars media as a reboot, but I think most of dave filoni's animated series are a great example of a show that was made primarily for kids being more appealing to adults. The clone wars does an especially good job at this by humanising the clones and giving them more dimension, especially in the lead up to order 66. (I also believe that phantom menace was a great film and yall should stop hating on jar jar).
Another great example would jurassic worlds camp cretaceous and its recent sequel chaos theory. Both shows were aimed at kids and its very obvious in that they don't show any graphic deaths, but they have alot of elements that were missing from the adult focused jurassic world films (especially fallen kingdom). More grotesque and ugly looking hybrids than the i-rex and i-raptor, realistic portrayals of ptsd and mental health issues, complex issues like grief and relationships and greater good vs individual needs all make these shows appealing to the jp/jw fans as well as the kids.
Too many corporations are too focused on making profit off of peoples nostalgia that they lose any love or respect for the original work. It's why fanfiction and fanart and fanvids holds such a special place in many fans hearts and are more often than not better than most reboots/remakes/reimagings because they are made solely out of a love for the source material.

A Glimpse of Us
Summary: You thought Rex was killed in action. You tried to move on with Hunter. Rex comes back and you question if you've really moved on.
Pairing: Hunter x Reader, Rex x Reader
Warnings: 18+ MINORS DNI; Angst, mentions of death
WC: 3K
A/N: I heard the song "A Glimpse of Us" by Joji and KNEW I needed to write something angsty soooo here we are. I cranked this out in like 3 hours so I apologize if it's rough! But for real, go listen to that song. So good. So heartbreaking.
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3A | Part 3B
âHey whatâs going on in here?â Cid shouts as you all make your way back to the bar. âWho are you?â
All of the guys have their guns drawn, waiting for the first sign of trouble. You canât see past Hunter, so youâre not sure whatâs happening.
âRex?â You hear Echo ask.
Rex? It couldnât be. You peek around Hunterâs shoulder and sure enough⊠It's him. The former love of your life. The one you thought had died during Order 66. You know Hunter can probably hear your heart pounding right out of your chest. You feel like youâre going to throw up.
âOh great. Another clone. Just what I needed. Well, donât get comfy. Iâm done taking in strays.â Cid complains then turns to Hunter. âThis ainât a clone clubhouse, ya know.â
Cid grumbles as she walks back to her office.
Rexâs eyes go soft when they meet yours. You want to run into his arms. You canât though. You stay beside Hunter. Your current partner. Your love. Your cyare. You notice the way that Hunter moves closer to you.Â
Rex puts his blaster away. You cross your arms, unsure of what to do.Â
âItâs okay.â Hunter murmurs to you.Â
You look up at him and then back at Rex. You cross the ten feet between the two of you and throw your arms around him, Rex does the same, enveloping you in his arms, burying his face in your hair.Â
âI thought you were goneâŠâ You whisper, feeling your lips tremble as you try to fight back tears.Â
You think back to the day that Tech told you that Rex was gone⊠you were wrecked and couldnât sleep for weeks.
âTo be honest, so did I.â He tells you. âIâm so glad you found these guys.â
âThey found me, actually.â You tell him, looking up at him but not letting go.
You were with General Billaba when the clones turned against her, against their will. You were terrified out of your mind, but you trusted the Batch. They were just as confused as you were. You had all managed to escape the new âEmpireâ for the time being.Â
âCaptain.â Hunter pulls the two of you out of your moment.Â
âItâs been a while, boys.â Rex nods to them and then pulls away only slightly.
âWhere have you been, Rex?â Echo asks.
âHmm. Thatâs a long story.â Rex shrugs.Â
Rex proceeds to tell all of you exactly what happened to him and Ahsoka Tano and how she helped him get his inhibitor chip out and then how they managed to escape being killed by the other clones. Then, he tells you about how heâs been keeping a low profile.
âVery low. Imperial files have you listed as killed in action.â Tech tells him.
Your heart clenches at the words, even though you can see that itâs clearly not the truth. Thank the Maker.
âBeing dead in the Empireâs eyes has its advantages.â Rex tells him.Â
He keeps an arm around your lower back as you stand next to him while he sits at the bar. You donât know how to tell him about Hunter. You donât know how to pull away from him after all this time. You just hope that Hunter understands.Â
âWell, howâd you track us down?â Echo asks him.
âTrace and Rafa Martez.â Rex replies. âThey said a squad of rogue clones helped them on Corellia. They told me I could find you here. And that you were traveling with a kid and a woman. And now that Iâve figured out the mystery woman⊠Who's the kid?â
You look at Hunter. He doesnât quite meet your eyes but looks at Rex and explains who Omega is and how sheâs a clone just like them. The look of shock on Rexâs face is brief due to Wrecker and Omega coming back from getting Mantell Mix.
âWell, look who it is!â Wrecker laughs, loudly. âCome here, Rex.âÂ
Wrecker picks up Rex and hugs him tightly. You take that moment to return to Hunterâs side as he leans against the bar. He smiles softly down at you in reassurance and you let out a breath you didnât even know you were holding in. Your anxiety is starting to rise slightly. Hopefully no one expects you to be normal right now.
âYeah.â Rex grunts, struggling for breath in Wreckerâs arms as he dangles like four feet off the ground. âGood to see you too, Wrecker.â
âI thought you didnât like the regs?â Omega asks, confused.
âThis one we like.â Wrecker chuckles as he sets Rex back down.
Rex looks over at you again and sees you next to Hunter. You can see it click in his eyes. He knows that you and Hunter are together. Which is fine. Right?Â
âOmega. This is Rex.â Hunter tells her.
Rex peels his eyes away from you and turns to look at Omega, kneeling down to her level.Â
âIâve met many clones in my life, but never one like you.â Rexâs voice is soft, sweet even.Â
Omega looks at Rex as if sheâs studying him. âYouâre a generation one.â
âNow, howâd you know that?â Rex asks her.
âFrom the lines on your face.â She shrugs. It reminds you of Tech which makes you smile.
All of you chuckle with Rex. She technically just called him old. Which wasnât out of the realm of possibility, you suppose. Clones do age faster than a regular human.Â
âYeah, I guess Iâve been around.â Rex looks back at you.
âYou got that right.â Wrecker grins and then groans, gripping his head. âY/n, I need one of those med patches.âÂ
Wrecker has been complaining of headaches for a while now. You and Tech have been keeping an eye on it, keeping him comfortable with med patches and medicine. You chalked it up to stress to all the new changes.
âYou used the last one, Wrecker. Iâm sorry.â You try to look at his head where heâs gripping it.Â
âWhatâs wrong?â Rex asks, his face completely serious now.Â
You look at him, confused.Â
âNothing. Itâs just a headache.â Wrecker explains.Â
âWhich are becoming more frequent.â Echo adds.
âIs that so?â Rex asks, his voice lowering with concern and seriousness.Â
âIf youâre concerned about the so-called inhibitor chips, donât be. Our deviant nature seems to have impeded their functionality.â Tech chimes in. âExcept in Crosshair.â
Rexâs eyebrows furrow deeper. âYouâre telling me you havenât removed your chips?âÂ
âNo, not yet.â Tech answers.
Rex steps in front of Omega and pulls back his poncho so that his hand can hover over his blaster, sending everyone else into alert mode. Whatâs wrong with him?
âRex?â Hunter steps away from you, shielding you from Rex and putting his hand out.Â
âThose chips make you a threat to everyone around you. Even them.â Rex gestures to Omega and then you. âYouâre all ticking time bombs.â
Hunter steps closer to Rex with his hand up in a non threatening way. âTake it easy, Captain.âÂ
You feel your heart in your throat, unsure of whatâs happening. Youâve never seen Rex like this.Â
âWhatâs in your head is more dangerous than you can imagine. Iâve seen what happens when the chip activates, and I donât want to bury anymore of our brothers.â Rex tells them.Â
You can see the hurt and anguish in his eyes. Heâs been through something terrible. You want to reach out to him and console him. You stay behind Hunter, though.Â
âTrust me⊠it is not something you can control. I couldnât.â Rex looks down for a second and thatâs when you step away from Hunter and walk back up to Rex, resting a palm on his face, making him look at you. You just need him to calm down for a moment.
The tension in his shoulders practically melts as you touch him. Just like before⊠When heâd come back to you, all youâd have to do is wrap him in your arms and heâd melt like putty.Â
When you think heâs okay, you pull away.Â
âItâs a risk you do not want to take.â Rex glances back at Hunter.
Hunter looks at you and then Omega. âHow do you suggest we get them out?âÂ
âGood question. Iâll be in touch.â Rex nods to Hunter.Â
Rex looks at you one last time before leaving the bar and you can feel your heart try to leave with him again. You look back at Hunter and you see his gaze shift away from yours. Perhaps consoling Rex was the wrong moveâŠÂ
âDo you think you could find out about Captain Rex of the 501st?â You ask Tech as everyone else is asleep.Â
âI can try.â Tech nods, pulling up his holopad and searching.Â
After a few moments, he puts the pad down and looks at you, pulling his goggles up on his head so that he can really look at you.
âTech?â You feel your stomach start to sink.
Please noâŠÂ
âIâm sorryâŠâ He looks down.
âNo⊠look again.â You shake your head.
Rex was the love of your life. You were supposed to grow old together and move to a farm and get married and have kids⊠The two of you had your entire lives after the war planned out. And nowâŠ
âLook. Again.â You tell Tech.
You donât mean to sound rude or angry⊠but it just couldnât be true⊠could it? Rex survived everything⊠It wouldnât make sense for him to not survive this.Â
âPleaseâŠâ You beg Tech.
He hands you the holopad to see for yourself. There in your hands, on the screen, is the face of the blond love of your life⊠with the red banner across the top: KILLED IN ACTION. You hand him the holopad and quickly walk to the fresher, letting the door slide closed behind you as you slump to the floor and sob.Â
Hours later, Hunter comes and scoops you off the floor and carries you to a bunk, letting you cry until your eyes go dry and hurt. You donât leave the bunk for days. Echo kneels next to you, trying desperately to get you to eat.
âHow can I go on?â You ask Echo as Hunter stands in the doorway, terrified.Â
âOne day at a time.â Echo squeezes your hand.
He was right. Slowly, the pain just took the backseat and you were able to ignore it.Â
Present
Back on the ship, in hyperspace, Wrecker shakes his knee, gripping his head. You try everything you can without the med patch. All you have to offer is a warm compress to hold over his eyes. Unfortunately, Wrecker is just a smidge impatient and tosses it back to you as he gets up to pace.Â
âI donât like this plan.â He groans to Hunter as Hunter comes back toward the bunks where Tech and Omega are working on Gonky as you try to help Wrecker.Â
Hunter glances at you and then places a hand on Wreckerâs shoulder. âWe agreed to meet Rex on Bracca. Thatâs what weâre doing.â
âHe wants to cut open my head.â Wrecker points at his head, nervously.
âAll of our heads, actually.â Tech points out.Â
âNot mine. I donât have an inhibitor chip.â Omega points out.Â
âWhy not? Now, thatâs not fair.â Wrecker grumbles.Â
You try to get Hunterâs attention but he ignores you and starts to talk to Tech about the chip scanner. You take that as your sign to leave the room and walk up to the cockpit, joining Echo at the steering panel.
âAre you alright?â Echo asks you, softly.
You shrug, leaning your head back against the seat. âDoesnât matter.âÂ
âOf course it matters.â Echo assures you, turning to look at you.
You roll your head to look at Echo. Heâs looking at you softly. He knows about you and Rex. He was one of Rexâs closest friends. He and his brother Fives.
âDo you remember when Tech told me about Rex being killed in action and all I could do for weeks was lie awake and cry?â You ask him.
He nods. Of course he does. He was there for you every single day.Â
âI used to wish more than anything that heâd come back to me. And then Hunter and I just⊠happened. Weâve only been together a couple weeksâŠâ You murmur softly, trying not to let Hunter hear you.Â
âYou have to do whatâs best for you.â Echo tells you.Â
âHow do I know what that is?â You ask him.
He shrugs. âWell, no offense, but we saw the way you calmed Rex downâŠâÂ
âYeah and now Hunter is mad at me.â You groan, quietly.
When you finally reach Bracca, you land near Rexâs ship and all get out. You try your hardest to keep your eyes down, knowing itâd be hard to look at him again.Â
What you and Hunter have is great. Youâre able to rely on each other. He is so sweet and kind. It is new, though.Â
âStay here.â Hunter and Rex tell you simultaneously.
They look at each other with a furrowed brow. You roll your eyes.Â
âWhatever. Come on, Omega. We have plenty to keep us busy.â You tell her, sitting on the steps of the Marauder.
Omega glances at Hunter and he nods. She follows you and sits next to you as you rest your chin in your hands, watching the guys walk away. Rex glances back at you first and your chest tightens. Hunter glances back at you next and you feel the ache in your chest next.Â
âWhatâs going on?â Omega asks you.
Omega is the most perceptive child youâve ever met. She catches on to everything very quickly, but you know this isnât something she needs to worry about. Not to mention, itâs not appropriate to burden a child with adult matters. Granted, sheâs been through more than a lot of children.Â
âIâll tell you when youâre older.â You put a smile on your face as you look at her.Â
âHow much older?â She asks you.
âHmmm⊠at least five years older.â You shrug, amused.Â
âUgh.â She rolls her eyes and you canât help but laugh.
You get up as you pat her on the shoulder and go back into the ship to make yourself busy. Hopefully, they'll find what theyâre looking for quickly.Â
About five hours in, you have music playing as you and Omega just finish up cleaning the entire ship and decide to play a board game that you secretly took from Cidâs. You feed Omega dinner as you play. You hear voices coming and go to greet the guys but find TK troopers, which means that Crosshair probably isnât too far away.Â
âHide. Now.â You whisper.Â
You help lift her up into the overhead unit and then crawl up there yourself, shutting the door as softly as possible. You donât know how Crosshair could have possibly found you, but right now, your biggest concern is keeping Omega safe.Â
You watch the TK troopers through the vent as they walk throughout the ship.
âShip is empty.â One of them speaks into their comm as they exit the ship.Â
âWeâre staying here until the guys get back.â You whisper to her, softly.
She nods and starts to make herself comfortable, resting her head on her arms. You pat her softly on the back with a reassuring smile.
You arenât sure how much time goes by, but when you finally hear the guysâ voices, relief washes over you.
You hear Hunter call out for you and Omega, panic clear in his voice. You move the vent over and let him know youâre still here.
âOh thank the Maker.â He nods.Â
You lightly wake Omega up, letting her know the guys are back. She barely wakes up, just enough to let you pass her to Hunter. You jump down after and watch Hunter lay her in his bunk before returning to you, pulling you into his arms. Watching how amazing he is with her warms your heart every single time.Â
âIâm so sorry.â Hunter kisses you on the head.Â
âItâs okay.â You assure him.
âThank you for staying safe.â He rests his forehead against yours, closing his eyes.
You see Rex in the doorway in your peripheral. He doesnât take his eyes off of you. You canât look away from him. Hunter notices, of course. He never misses a thing.Â
âCan I talk to you?â Rex asks you.
You look at Hunter and he nods, letting you go. You follow Rex outside the ship, pulling your sweater around you. It had gotten dark since youâd hidden in the overhead unit with Omega.Â
âI understand that youâve moved on. I get it. I-â He starts. You interrupt him. âI havenât.â
âWhat?âÂ
âI havenât moved on.â You whisper.Â
He walks toward you. You look up at him and time feels like it stops. Just for a moment. You know that youâre never going to stop loving him. You know that this man will always have your heart and anything you give to HunterâŠ
âCome with me.â Rex begs, softly, yanking you from your thoughts. âPlease.â
You look up into those golden brown eyes that you used to get lost in once upon a time. You feel your stomach flutter at the way heâs looking at you. Like you hung every star in the galaxy. Itâs the same look heâs always given you. And you know heâd continue to look at you like that for the rest of his life if you let him.
âPlease stayâŠâ You hear Hunterâs voice behind you.Â
You look back at Hunter. It feels like youâre stuck in place, unable to move. You know you need to choose, but the look on Hunterâs face breaks your heart all over again and you know you canât bear the thought of hurting him. You care about him so much. Not to mention, the Batch. You love them all individually. Omega has become like your little sister. Wrecker is like your big brother. Echo has always been a friend. And Tech is so easy to chat with about things that heâs become a good friend as well. And Hunter⊠WellâŠ
You know youâre going to have to make the decision now.
