I've eat a bug in front on Atin once. 🤔
And also documented the various degree of horror and disgust on his face. ☝️🤓
AHAHAHHA!! NO I LIED!!!!!
I didn't documented anything. 😀 (but totally eat the bug alive tho)
What do you, your brothers, and sister do have fun? Individually and as a group?
I like finding insects and showing them to Crosshair. I often document the various degrees of horror and disgust on his face.

"Are you fit, soldier?" Zey said. "Fit to fight, sir." He sat down next to Darman and assumed the same ramrod posture, glancing at him briefly in acknowledgment. So this was their fourth man. They were a squad again—numerically, anyway. Omega Squad.

You have to see the funny side of things in the army. I think they have a real sense of humor in Defense Procurement, too. "So," I ask. "How long ago did you put in a request for black stealth armor?" "Seven standard months," says Darman, staring out the gunship's crew bay onto an unbroken plain of snow. White snow. The freezing wind is whipping flurries of it into the open bay. "When we got back from Qiilura." "And now they issue it to us? To do a raid on Fest? The whole planet's covered in snow from pole to pole." I can hear the gunship pilot laughing over the comlink circuit. He can't resist it. "Want to borrow my armor? It's nice and white." Yes, they've deployed us in black Katarn armor. It'll take a direct hit from laser cannon to put a dent in us, but it would be nice to have the comfort of camouflage when we hit the ground.

Republic Commando Headcanons
cause I miss the characters already…
-Ordo and Besany have three kids. Idk what their names are, but all three are dang cute, and absolutely love their mom and dad. (Got this from Ny saying Ordo would be a good dad and now I want it to happen…)
-Corr proposed to Jilka drunkenly in a bar on Kyrimorut. He said “hey, let’s get married.” Jilka, also drunk, said yes. The next morning he woke up, sober, and asked if she still wanted to, and she said yes.
-Fi jokingly said that Parja should make a droid to write down all his thoughts to turn them into a book. Parja actually liked that idea and now has a small droid writing down all of Fi’s jokes to surprise him with on Life Day.
-Since Kanan and Hera had Jacen in canon, Twi’lek’s and humans can now have kids. Atin and Laseema have two little girls.
-Niner is doesn’t have kids, but he is basically the favorite Uncle to Atin and Fi’s kids, and Kad. He shows a much softer side when with his nieces and nephews.
-Darman and Niner get to Mandalore and Darman lives with his son happily ever after.
-THEY REVERSE THE AGING

Okay guys! I can't believe I can say this, but the commandos are finally done!
Tumblr media
It took me soo long to finish this set I nearly given up the whole project. But here they are, glorious soldiers!
Can we talk about how smooth Scorch is? Like he is my pride and joy. And Sev? The prettiest boy ever. I'm so happy it's finally done and I can continue the project. I already started the Null boys and next week I will start the bad batch as well (Echo earned to be the only one with two kind of helmet because mother deserves it).
So I hope I can finish it before the end of the 3 season!

Omega Squad!!
Drawing practice for expressions/features off the same slightly modified sketch base. They all have the same face, but I think I managed to make them distinct and identifiable anyway!

repcomm but make it the 2003 genndy style
i think who's who is pretty obvious for the most part, but i also drew post-501st besany because i firmly believe she chops her hair off, gets a face scar in a bar fight that she started because someone insulted one of her brothers (probably fi), and gets armor (and an axe)

♟ - Board games/arts and crafts inside.
Fi, Atin & Niner playing cards, Dar's taking the picture. What happened to Fi to land him in a recovery suite?? No idea. :)
Atin: Fi! I know you're cheating! Fi: Not cheating! Niner: Is cheating!
Here's the Comfort Meme! Ask box is open. Clone troopers, repcomm specifically. I also have a few Clone Trooper OCs knocking around: Dogmeat (and his massiff Strafe) is my favourite.

My thoughts on Imperial Commando and Republic Commando as a whole
RC
So, I started and finished Imperial Commando on an eight hour plane ride last night. This means I am done with the series overall and this will be me going over it and the characters. But let’s discuss my thoughts on this book first
Needless to say, I was disappointed. It’s not that it was bad or anything, it just wasn’t as good as Order 66 in my opinion, and, of course, even though it’s the last book of the series, the series was left incomplete, leaving me a bit disappointed in the end.
The author obviously planned on writing more Republic Commando books after this one, with how the Jusik and Arla plot line was set up, how the age reversing was going, and how Darman planned to kill the Jedi, but obviously, the sequel was never made, and thus, the overall story feels incomplete. But, enough about that. Let’s talk about RC as a whole.
Oh, and I’ll be completely omitting Karen Traviss from this conversation. She as a person has nothing to do with the plot or characters, which are the things I will be judging today. If you have a problem with me talking about the actual book and not ranting about the author who wrote it, then too bad.
Let’s start off at the beginning. With Omega. Omega Squad was definitely a pleasant surprise for me. I enjoyed each of their characters and liked how most of them found peace in the end. That being said, I do have some notes.
The biggest is Atin. I feel like after Triple Zero he kind of fell into the background besides when he married Laseema in Order 66. (And his relationship with her fell into the background as well) And he felt practically invisible in Imperial Commando. And I get why Niner and Dar were more in focus for that story, but it would’ve been nice to see some Atin. Also, he’s he only OG Omega member who’s POV we never got to see.
Next up, Niner. Niner got two POV’s in the series, in both the first and last books. And those books were where I enjoyed him the best. Niner was a solid leader for the squad, and was loyal to them through and through, especially in his friendship with Darman. He didn’t fade as much as Atin, but I still wish he had been a little more prevalent throughout the series.
Then we have Fi. Fi is my favorite from the squad still, and I love seeing him whenever he appears. His one liners are great, and to be honest, he’s kind of the opposite of Niner here. He was very prevalent for books 2-4, but fell into the background in the first and last book. He still appeared more than Atin in book 5, but I barely recall even seeing Parja. (Which was sad cuz I loved the two of them together)
The last of the OG Omega, Darman. Dar is definitely a strong character, and he has a very heavy theme of being used, manipulated, and lied to throughout the books. By the Kaminoans, the Jedi, and even Kal, Etain, and Niner at times! His mental resolve to protect Kad at all costs is what is barely keeping him together after Etain died, and while he does resolve to hunt Jedi at the end of the book, it’s a nice full circle moment to see that while Darman thought his one true purpose at the beginning of the series was to be a soldier, he now sees he was destined for a greater one all along. Being a father.
Next let’s move on to Ordo, Corr, the Jedi, and Mandos. We got a LOT to cover here.
Ordo- Ordo is definitely one of my favorites. Him and Besany are cute and great and I love both of them. I like all the moments he gets throughout the series. However, I do think he was focused on a little too heavily. While I do wish some of the other Nulls like Jaing, Prudii, or Kom’rk had been given some time to shine, I still loved Ordo and I think he’s great. (That being said, I will be omitting the rest of the Nulls because I really only know enough to talk about Mereel and A’den for a couple sentences)
Corr- A really sarcastic, witty, and funny guy that did not deserve what he got. Losing both of his hands was tragic, but, with lost flesh, he gained a new family in Clan Skirata. He was a nice addition to Omega after Fi had to leave, and I liked him a lot. (He and Jilka were pretty cute in book 5)
Etain- So… Etain. I like her, I really do. But sometimes, there are some choices that I cannot get behind. (Like how she purposefully went behind Dar’s back to get pregnant in Triple Zero) But even still, she is a good person, and she just wanted to be a good mother to Kad and live a happy life with Darman, and she didn’t deserve to meet the end she got.
Bardan- An all around solid character. I liked his development from bright eyed Padawan to rugged ex Jedi Mandalorian, and I think his sense of responsibility to Clan Skirata and also to Kad is very important. He made sure to put others before himself no matter the consequences, a quality with several others lack.
Walon- A hardened Mando bounty Hunter with good intentions at heart. (Probably). I mean, he did save Jilka, lend Kal credits, and he also did try to find Sev. He cares. Even if it is in his own twisted way sometimes. (Still, what he did to Atin was brutal)
Besany- Love her. Since the beginning, she was all about standing up for the clones and their rights. She cared about them as people and not as property, and she saw their differences as well, and what made them unique, and she really does love Ordo, and I think the two of them are very sweet.
Kal- Oh boy. Here we go. I know I’m gonna get hate for this. Here I go. Brace yourselves. If you need tissues to cry, grab them.
I like Kal Skirata.
Okay. I’ll continue. I am not going to say I agree with him on everything, and I’m not going to pretend he is a saint or anything. But I like his character. He cares about his family, and he does make mistakes. Everybody does. The problem is everybody has gotten so used to pointing out Kal’s every mistake that they refuse to acknowledge anything he did right. And guess what? Kal makes mistakes. He’s flawed. He’s not perfect. And that’s the point. Characters are flawed. People are flawed. They aren’t perfect. And neither is Kal. And HE ADMITS THAT IN BOOK 5. In fact, NY ADMITS IT TOO! She acknowledges that Kal taking over the Nulls and not seeing the similarities to the Jedi taking children is arrogant! She acknowledges that! And Kal acknowledges that and his flaws later in the book! Kal is arrogant, yes, but he sees that! He knows it! So before you go around saying how Kal thinks he is some saint god or whatever. He doesn’t. And there is proof of that in the books.
So, uhh, yeah. Overall, I think the Republic Commando series was good. There were some things that definitely could have been improved upon, but I liked it. I liked the story, and I liked the characters, so yeah.
Thanks for coming to my TEDTalk.

Omega Squad Headcanons
A/N: I'm still not convinced I'm great at HCs lol. But here are my inner thoughts for the Omega boys. I miss them always. And love them with my entire heart and soul!
Warnings: 18+ Always. Minors DNI; Some Fluff, some smut. A little mixture.
Niner bought a ring right after your first date. He was in love and prepared to settle down right then and there.
Atin and Fi gave him so much shit for months.
When Niner proposed, you obviously said yes. But you also knew because Fi is TERRIBLE at keeping secrets.
Niner is a “my wife” kind of guy. Talks about you ALL the time. Never shuts up about you.
(@rebelsriley says: Knows nothing about sex. Doesn’t care. Eager to learn.)
You take the lead a lot. The first time he saw you fully naked, he nearly cried because he thought you were a literal angel.
Fi, though… He didn’t think he’d ever get to settle down. Honestly, he wasn’t even sure he wanted to settle down until he met you.
Your ability to crack jokes and keep up with his humor nearly brought him to his knees.
Darman still teases Fi that you’re funnier.
The first time you ever made him laugh, all three of his brothers kept giving him knowing smirks but he tried his best to ignore them.
One night, the two of you were sitting on the edge of a building, overlooking Coruscant, one of Fi’s favorite views, only second to you, you were teasing each other and the way you looked at him, gave him courage to finally kiss you.
“Atin and Darman have a running bet that you wouldn’t ever get the courage to do that.” You look up at him, amused.
“I hope you bet on my side.” He acts scandalized.
You chuckle and hop up. “I always bet on the winning side.”
He smirks to himself for a minute and then glances after you. “That means you bet on me, right?”
You bite your lip with a chuckle as Fi gets up to follow you.
“...Right?” He asks again and you burst into a fit of giggles.
You and Atin argue a lot. Not in a toxic way. But in a both stubborn kind of way. Atin does mean stubborn in Mando’a, afterall.
The first time you fuck, it’s in a back alley because he dragged you back there to argue away from the group.
But you ended up kissing him and he pushed you up against the wall and then deepened the kiss and made you get yourself worked up, grinding on his thigh.
When he kissed you back, you laughed and said “I knew it.” to which he responded “Shut up. No you did not.” And then fucked you.
Darman was intimidated by you when he first met you.
You argued with Atin on his behalf one time and he saw stars in his eyes.
While he can definitely hold his own, he was touched that you came to his defense.
When you finally told him how you felt, he felt like his brain was short circuiting.
“Are… are you sure?” He tilts his head.
“Yes, I’m sure.” You smile at him and his entire body goes warm and fuzzy. “Do… you like me?”
“I do. Very much.”

Star Wars: Republic Commando: Hard Contact, Chapter 2
"Clone personnel have free will, even if they do follow orders. If they couldn't think for themselves, we'd be better off with droids -- and they're a lot cheaper, too. They have to be able to respond to situations we can't imagine. Will that change them in ways we can't predict? Perhaps. But they have to be mentally equipped to win wars. Now thaw these men out. They have a job to do.
-- Jedi Master Arligan Zey, intelligence officer"
I'm going to add any of these...I'm not sure what these extracts at the beginning of the chapters are properly called, but I'll add them whenever they're interesting.
Zey's comment about the clones reminds me of the line from Andor. "We're cheaper than droids, and easier to replace." The difference here is that while clones are more expensive and harder to replace than droids, they're superior.
And yes, Master Zey, it did change them in unexpected ways.
"It didn't feel so bad to be revived after stasis. He was still a commando. They hadn't reconditioned. That meant -- that meant he'd performed to expected standards at Geonosis. He'd done well. He felt positive."
The implication that "under-performing" clones are brainwashed, at best, is one of the Traviss's additions that I genuinely like, emphasizing the cold detachment of the Kaminoans before they become prominent in the series. It's also just a terrifying idea.
"Darman was careful not to stare -- even though any eye movement was disguised by his helmet -- because Jedi knew things without having to see. His instructors had told him so. Jedi were omniscient, omnipotent, and to be obeyed at all times."
And here we see the official beginning of the Jedi-Bashing count. It's subtler here, but it keeps popping up in ways that are unmistakable in the context of the series' attitude toward the Jedi Order. In multiple cases, such as this one, lines that wouldn't make me bat an eye in a different book, (or more accurately, a different author), but make me grit my teeth here.
The way this specific paragraph is written is very similar to how I'd write a passage from the POV of a character who thinks the antagonist is a good person, or is brainwashed, but I want to make it clear what's really going on. Only in this case, it isn't portraying, say, a Sith cult, but the Jedi Order, which is devoted to helping others, enforcing justice, and studying the Force.
Jedi-Bashing: 1
"'This is your unit of four, then? A squad?' He seemed to be recalling a hurried lesson. 'Almost like a family?'"
Tumblr media
This might be a stretch, but I'm not cutting this series an iota of slack when it comes to the Jedi Order. The implication here seems to be "Oh look, the Jedi have no idea what a family is! It's so unnatural and wrong, not like the good, wholesome Mandalorians!" Am I being petty? Maybe. Does Kal Skirata ranting about baby-stealers get really fucking old really fucking fast? Definitely.
Jedi-Bashing: 2
"'My squad called me Atin," the wounded commando said.
Niner glanced at Fi but said nothing. Atin was Mandalorian for 'stubborn.'"
Okay, this bit is just funny.
"Darman -- a soldier able to withstand every privation in the field, and whose greatest fear was to whither from age rather than die in combat -- felt inexplicably uncomfortable at the idea of a Jedi having failings."
Tumblr media
Jedi-Bashing: 3
"Etain was neither a natural warrior nor a great charmer, but she was aware of her talent for spotting opportunities. It made up for a lot."
In this book, at least, I really like Etain. She's a good audience surrogate and her headspace is easier to get into than the other three narrators.
Jedi-Bashing: 3
Di'kut Count: 1
