RANT ABOUT THERAPY AND WHY IT'S NOT MY CUP OF TEA 🤡

+ trying to guess the therapist's rising and our synastry and ranting about it cause I am tired man (and too sensitive lol)

Really messy post btw just a disclaimer lol

(Update 23/11/24 : I might have slightly overreacted 🤡😀😁 lol plus maybe the therapist was actually a Taurus rising lol idk man I am confused as fuck about everything bye 😝🤪🫡)

Just had my first therapist appointment since 2021 and what can I say....it was REALLY awkward. I don't know how people are able to spill their deepest traumas like that bro she just sat down and told me to talk 💀 like what I thought she would interview me or start the first appointment with pre-made questions to make a profile, regarding my background, family relationships,etc .. It was really messy and I was so confused throughout the whole thing.

I understand it's a privilege to afford therapy (it was 60euros for 45 minutes lol of course it is) but it is much more complex than just spilling your guts to a random with a degree.

Something about me is that I always thought i didn't really need therapy, no matter how painful a situation was for me. And it wasn't only therapy, it was also opening up to my own friends 💀 i could take care of myself like i always did anyways so whats the point of paying for it ? I understood people who needed it and felt helped by it. But it just wasn't for me. I have realizations on my own consistantly thanks to my self-awareness and trained and developped intuition.

What pushed me to go back to therapy even though i was , and still am, very skeptical in its effectiveness on me, is that this year, I realized asking for help won't actually kill me and that i have my limits as a human being.

I fear this appointment just unfortunately kind of validated my initial more negative feelings towards therapy and the idea that I don't really need it.

As a really introspective and painfully self-aware person who has a hard time asking for help (but is actively working on it), I really don't know what kind of therapy could help me, really. I know I probably have a few blind spots, but it's so out of my comfort zone to open up like that. I kind of hate it.

I want to keep an open mind, and probably try another therapist but damn if I don't f*ck with any, it just feels forced .. I trust divine timing for that because I don't really want to put myself in such a situation again.

Right now, I feel dirty knowing a random woman knows about my deepest traumas in a really messy and all over the place way. She has fragments of my soul, and despite me having somewhat giving my consent for it, it was too fast. Maybe it's my 8th house moon conjunct Lilith (1181) in Leo that is speaking but I feel literally violated. Strong words but this how uncomfortable it was for me.

Guessing the therapist's rising sign and ranting about 12th house synastry...

Random but I think the therapist in question had a Virgo or Leo rising... I already said it's the most common rising signs (especially virgo) and I am losing patience. We probably had a 12th house synastry that's why our exchange was really weird and scattered. She kept on making weird faces while I was talking telling me she didn't understand what I was trying to say.... I know it all too well because EVERY single person I knew or had interacted with that had a leo rising, my interactions with them were like this. I was saying stuff and it felt like it went in one ear and got out in the other. Like they could hear me but not listen and understand what i was trying to say. This kind of reminds me of Willy Wonka's relationship with Mike TV or wth his name is, in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Tim Burton's movie. Wonka always said stuff to him whenever he opened his mouth like "I cannot hear a single thing you say because you're speaking gibberish"or whatever. (Me being Mike TV and Leo risings being Willy Wonka).

This is how every single one of my interactions with Leo risings went, no matter their gender or age. It was always like that.

Digimon Frontier: Island of Lost Digimon

This was actually pretty fun! It wasn't the strongest Digimon movie by a long shot, but it was good as a Frontier side story. It was nice to see them revisit the whole "beast digimon vs. human digimon" conflict that they didn't do much with in the show. Also, I got to see my Digimon World 3 friends again! They were super cute.

Notes:

I enjoyed Izumi humming Funiculi Funicula in the intro to the movie. For a split second I thought it was Bolero and was about to throw hands lol.

What the HECK were they riding on in the opening? It wasn't really a Trailmon it was more like a Mike Wazowski themed rail cart. They, of course, never explained.

This movie's aesthetic was really weird. I don't know if it was necessarily higher quality animation. It kinda looked like they took the usual level of quality and put a "cinema" filter over it or something. Also some of the "shots" were weirdly cropped and almost blurry. IDK if that's just because there isn't a clean copy on the internet or if it was a stylistic choice. At least the characters are super on model, which is more than I can say for the show!

Speaking of animation quality, they were a little too obsessed with using CGI in this movie. It looked really bad and added nothing lol. Also, what was with the neon disco rave tanks? They felt extremely out of place.

Once again we get a lot of unnecessary focus on Izumi's butt...

So many new (or new-ish) background digimon! I kept being like "ooh, who's that?" I really liked the bunny-with-razors-for-ears design. It's funny how they debut new digimon in the movies and games, it almost feels like they're testing them out.

The original title is more like "The Revival of the Ancient Digimon." I can see why they would change that cuz it sort of feels like a big spoiler.

Kotemon and Bearmon were super cute. It was exciting to see their anime forms. They had really nice voices as well (in Japanese and English). Kinda wish I had watched this before DW3 instead of the other way around, whoops!

They used the exact same plot of "evil character encourages war to resurrect evil monster via the sacrifice of many" in the isekai series I'm Standing on a MIllion Lives. Makes me wonder how many fantasy series have used that. It must be a more common trope than I thought.

Why does this one digimon look like Impmon and My Melody had a baby?

The whole "beast vs. human" thing still feels silly when half of the "human" side doesn't actually look that human. I could totally see Dinohumon be considered a "beast" in a different series. (Maybe it's a metaphor for how racism is dumb and makes no logical sense).

The visual of digieggs flying and baby digimon being all over the place due to the ongoing war was interesting. I guess they couldn't go to the Village of Beginnings because the island is blocked off from the rest of the digital world?

One CGI scene literally looked like the 3D maze screensaver from Windows 98 lol

Kinda rolled my eyes when Bokomon said that Murmukusmon (what a mouthful) could turn into any digimon. What OP power will they think of next? Also, we only saw him digivolve into two digimon, so I'm not that impressed.

That final battle was pure chaos and I had a lot of trouble following wth was going on. I didn't know why AncientGreymon/AncientGarurumon were suddenly there so I googled it. Apparently it was due to "the power of Kotemon's sacrifice and Bearmon's tears"...riiiight. Shounen movie logic.

AncientGreymon looks amazing and AncientGarurumon looks..aight lol. I'm totally biased to prefer beast-like digimon

Kinda anticlimactic to have two "spirits" do the dirty work instead of our heroes, not gonna lie. Maybe if we had met AncientGreymon and AncientGarurumon before and had some level of emotional attachment to them it would have been more impactful.

Hello! I'm not good at explaining stuff, so excuse any mistakes I might make. I might also misinterpret canon as I am only human, and my memory can fail me at times.

Also, with my headcanons I'm going to get deeper with some events and plotpoints instead of just giving general personality analysis.

The most important thing about canon Henry - for me - is that he is possessive - in a way.

You can kind of see it reflected in Charlie, who herself is pretty possessive of her things, memories and experiences.

Henry cannot let go of things and people he lost, it's natural, but his obsession is off putting even to his loved ones. He never lets go of Charlie, the diner, or the pizzeria.

He might have left Fredbear's, but the building remains where it was, the stage still inside. The springlock suits remain, allowing William to go on with his crimes.

He moves and opens another pizzeria. He makes a robot replica of his daughter, whom he cannot love properly anymore but clings to selfishly. He makes himself believe that she is still alive, only to rage when he realised she is… not. He can be somewhat cruel in his entitlement. Negligent, distant and utterly miserable after the tragedy.

He must have known it was William who's commited the crimes, police knew, after all.

But I don't think he would ever say anything against him.

He wouldn't want to lose anyone else; anything else, after all.

In the games, though, he is equally depressed but seems almost vindicitve. Driven. Quite literally, he spends the rest of his life hunting William down, possibly not even sure if it makes any sense.

To be honest: it's even possible that he knew all along that William was alive inside the suit, that he was the one to lock him in that place for 30 years, behind a wall. Maybe he wanted him to suffer; maybe he wants to be the one to decide whether and how William is to die after what he's done.

After William gets out, Henry lures and hunts him and the others. He doesn't even care that he is hurting his daughter in the process.

He drags all the Aftons, as well as Charlie, into his big suicide mission. He cannot be sure they will pass; cannot be sure that Michael wants to. But he makes the decision for everyone.

I don't think he considers the spirits human at all - he is much more concerned with his vengeance as much as he likes to talk about setting them free (he fails, after all).

I think Henry resents the whole Afton family, using Mike as a tool.

As calculating as William, what a match.

In my own headcanons - yes, Henry's got that violent streak and low empathy - he doesn't get people.

He's big, strong and loud - can be intimidating.

He's way more social than my William, but people still fing him mostly unpleasant to be around. He is nice; a real family man, loving and trying. But he is ultimately just as awkard as his book counterpart and similarly single-minded as the game one.

Awkward around kids, distant at times, mainly concerned with things he seems to enjoy.

I imagine that Charlotte loves him a lot, and he loves her too, but as she grows up, so does the gap between them.

In my personal aus and headcanons Henry was in love with William and got his heart broken by him multiple times but clings to those feelings, and even after getting married, he cannot let go.

He and his wife get a divorce soon after having Charlie - she stays with her mother but sees him on weekends. He was supposed to have her over for a week every 2, but he is burying himself in his work.

He is overwhelmingly unhappy.

The diner and working on the animatronics brings him joy - he loves it - but he needs to deal with seeing William every day of his life, getting mixed signals and his hopes up, before being rejected again and again. Ironically, William thinks he is the one being rejected. Henry is possessive of his work (his whole life) afterall, so he excludes him, leaving him to the paperwork.

Anyways, his whole life is work, work and more work. He is much more invested in the Afton family affairs than his own, spoiling William's children as much as he does Charlie, wanting that life - wanting a big, happy family.

When he doesn't stay late at work he drinks alone at home.

He meets William outside of Freddy's at times. Sometimes, they go private. It's nice, and it hurts to be toyed with. It hurts that the man he loves seems to treat it as entertainment, from Henry's perspective at least (Later, I have to write down William's take on things).

He drinks until he knows that Charlie is coming home, and then, he tries to be fun and a good father, and he is.

But Charlie is smart and notices things.

Charlie likes William; they're very similar personality-wise.

Henry drinks more, considering what could be.

After William loses his wife and is left with the kids, Henry is ashamed because he's considered going to him, asking if they could try again.

He doesn't, instead helping with the kids, being particiularly close with Michael.

Just like Charlie is close with Will, Mike is close to Henry.

And Mike talks, and Henry sees what William is going through and what he does to the kids.

He tells William right away that he shouldn't worry about work and should focus on the kids (should not speak of her in present tense) and their well-being.

They argue.

Henry considers breaking their partnership up just to force him to actually focus on his family, he thinks William is being ungrateful, irrational.

He wishes he could punch him.

When 83' happens, it gets worse.

Everyone is off.

William's parenting gets worse. Henry feels forced into this decision. William doesn't talk to his kids, he is consumed by work, and when he isn't, he does God knows what in the privacy of his office. He makes mistakes, is messy. Smells of alcohol even at work. Snaps at clients, barely talks to Henry at all.

Henry considers breaking it all off.

Charlie dies.

Henry feels stupid for ever considering firing William - distancing himself from him - as he cries into his shoulder.

They cling to each other, and Henry thinks he knows. But who else does he have left? His ex wife, who looks at him with disgust? Whom he never felt close to at all? She blames him; Charlie died under his care, in his restaurant, and so soon after Evan's death, too!

She is right, of course.

He is disgusted as well.

When Elizabeth dies, he is sure that William is behind everything, and he confronts him but ultimately doesn't do anything with it. Doesn't tell anyone or go to police.

Only after William disappears, leaving Michael under his care, Henry grows hateful of him. Processes everything and turns bitter, vengeful.

Michael looks like William, and Henry lets him live under his roof, but they are not family anymore.

Henry drinks more - his days are a blur.

He feels pathetic and cruel, but doesn't care. Mike is in and out of the house, clearly not apprieciating his company.

He gets it, but he resents him for it.

He is just like his father.

He wants William, wants him dead, wants both William and himself dead.

He only starts caring again when, years later, Mike comes back home, no longer human, and with new information regarding his father.

It's then that Henry fully commits himself to revenge.

The rest is usually pretty similar to how game Henry functions but his obsession with William is both hatred and longing. He hopes they will burn in hell together.

Usually, in my aus, they somehow get back together: they cannot get rid of each other, but in the main thing, yeah, it ends up just like in the game. With a blaze.

In short, he is gay, sad and cannot handle human interaction. Also dependent on William to the point when he cannot function.

Sorry for the text being so long and somewhat incomprehensive. I might be wrong and I might be cringe, but I am free, and these are my takes!

I saw your post and I decided, why not? I've never done this before! (I'm no good at thinking of prompts). Currently I have one thing on my mind: Good Omens. And maybe this is weird to ask, but could you maybe take a scene from it and steddie-fy it? I don't care who's who.

There's a scene, which is my personal favorite, where Crowley asks Aziraphale to hang out after having dinner, and Aziraphale, with a soft voice and a longing look, says "You go too fast for me, Crowley."

And of course the "just a little demonic miracle of my own" scene. That ones a bit longer to explain, so I'd search it up for a better experience. This is the one all of us, including the author, speculate is when Aziraphale realized he was in love with Crowley.

Okay yes I know exactly what you’re talking about, I’ve seen the show and I’ve read the book (more than once actually lol) BUT it’s been forever and right now I’m not remembering anything besides the vaguest outline of the scene in the forest, when he starts going by Crowley. And then a few random scenes that I had to look up 😩 strangely enough I couldn’t find the “you go too fast for me, Crowley” scene anywhere which SUCKS because now I need to see it just to see it 😂

Also side note I would LOVE to Steddify the entire thing, I feel like Nancy would make a great Anathema, and Robin would be a fantastic Madame Tracy, esp considering the fact that Aziraphale/Steve (that’s what I’m imagining, at least) literally inhabits her body. And there’s even a Party what with Adam and them! I’m thinking Dustin as Adam, Max as Pepper, Will as Wensleydale, and Mike as Brian.

The end of the world is really weird.

Honestly, it’s nothing like Mike would’ve expected. When he imagined the end of the world, he always imagined it would happen… a lot faster than it’s happening right now. He imagined that the world would just suddenly explode or there would be some disease that would suddenly wipe out half the world’s population or there would be fire and brimstone and monsters that led to the fall of humanity.

The end of the world is nothing like Mike imagined.

Most people don’t actually realize that the world is ending, including Mike’s dad and the majority of people in Hawkins. The government creates some bullshit lie to explain the gaping fissures in the ground (an earthquake? Seriously?) and the storms from the Upside Down that have been periodically happening over the past couple weeks. Though many people flee Hawkins, many people stay, reserving their front row seats to the end of the world like a bunch of idiots.

… 

Mike and his family are among the idiots staying for the end of the world. He can’t leave, after all. He’s been involved with the Upside Down for as long as it started breaking through to the real world, and when this all finally comes to blows, Mike has to be there. Maybe he doesn’t have much to offer, but he has to be here. He’s not leaving Hawkins.

…

He’s not leaving Will.

And that’s exactly what Mike tells his mom when he and Nancy finally sit her down and explain everything. It’s a difficult conversation, but it’s a necessary one. With the Byers and Argyle staying at their house for the time being and with the bright red target on Will’s back, there’s no way to avoid telling Mike’s mom about the situation. She has to know, so Mike and Nancy can stay in Hawkins and join the fight when it comes.

She takes it surprisingly well and welcomes Joyce, Jonathan, Will, and Argyle into their home with open arms. It’s… nice having his mom on their side now, and it’s nice not having to hide this from her. Maybe Mike’s relationship with his family isn’t the best, but over the past couple weeks, he… hasn’t felt as alone. 

(It’s a feeling he’d almost forgotten.)

So yeah, now there are nine people living in Mike’s house, all waiting in nervous anticipation for the end of the fucking world. 

It’s great. Really, really great.

There’s not a lot that any of them can do right now with the world ending and with the governor’s recent stay-at-home order issues for Hawkins and its neighboring towns. They’re literally not allowed to go anywhere, so Mike spends most of his time reading the books he’d been putting off for several months, playing video games with Jonathan, Will, and Argyle, or simply staying up and talking to Will.

It’s… nice. 

It’s nice being so damn close to Will again, after a year of feeling far away from him. Their friendship still isn’t quite what it used to be, and maybe it will never go back to what it used to be. Maybe the harsh words Mike had spat at his childhood best friend had simply damaged their relationship past the point of full repair, and maybe he’ll spend the rest of his life regretting that day and everything that led them to that place.

But… the world’s ending, and Will is close. And they’re friends again… best friends even. Their friendship may not be what it used to be, but it’s still good. It’s still really, really nice having Will so close to him, and God, Mike feels more at home amidst the end of the world than he has in a year.

(He tries not to think about the implications of those feelings, because that… that’s not something Mike wants to think about. He can’t let himself think about that.)

With a soft sigh, Mike tosses his old hacky sack up in the air, catching it absentmindedly. He and Will had found the old thing down in the basement a few days ago, and ever since then, they’d been attempting—keyword: attempting—to play with it, the way they used to as kids. And um, yeah, they weren’t really good at kicking the hacky sack back and forth when they were seven, but they’re really bad now. It’s fine though, because Mike had tripped and fallen, and Will had laughed and laughed and laughed, and…

And Mike had missed that—Will’s laugh.

He’d missed Will, more than he even realized.

Someone knocks on Mike’s bedroom door, and Mike’s brow furrows. “Come in!” he calls, turning towards the door.

To Mike’s surprise, the door opens, revealing none other than Will himself, and Mike’s breath catches.

Oh.

Oh.

Will’s dressed in an old pair of pajama pants that Mike had grown out of a year or so ago, and he’s also wearing Mike’s Hellfire Club t-shirt. His hair is still wet from the shower, and there’s a tentative smile on his face as he walks into the room.

He… he looks good. Like really, really good, and for some weird reason, Mike’s stomach suddenly feels like there are dozens of little butterflies flying around in it. His cheeks feel really, really warm, and no matter how hard he tries, Mike can’t look away from Will.

He looks so good. 

“Hey,” Will greets, his voice soft.

Mike swallows the lump in his throat, and he blinks, sitting up. “H-hey,” he stammers, offering Will a smile. “Um… you know you don’t have to knock, right? This… this is your room too now.”

A rosy blush spreads across Will’s cheeks, and he sits down, where the little yellow sleeping bag that’s been designated as Will’s for so long is spread out on the floor. “Sorry,” he says with a little shrug. “I guess I’m still getting used to all of this, you know? It’s, um… it’s all still a little weird.”

“Yeah… I know what you mean,” Mike agrees softly, absently fiddling with the hacky sack in his hands. His heart still pounds inside his chest, and his stomach still feels like it has butterflies in it, but Mike can’t look away from Will. He just can’t. 

It’s just… Will looks really, really nice. The pajama pants Mike had grown out of fit him pretty well, but Mike’s Hellfire shirt is a little too big for him. It’s… kind of adorable actually, and when Will rolls his sleeves up to reveal his California, sun-kissed tan skin, Mike feels the lump in the back of his throat grow.

Shit. What the hell is wrong with him? This is Will. This is Will, and… and Mike… Mike can’t be thinking about him like this. Especially when Mike still has a girlfriend, even if El hasn’t spoken to him in two weeks. 

But even without El, this is Will. It’s Will, and…

And what? a voice in the back of his mind questions. What’s wrong with Will?

Nothing, Mike thinks immediately. Nothing’s wrong with Will.

… Okay, then what’s wrong with you?

(Isn’t that the million dollar question?)

“Um… are you okay if I shut the overhead lights off?” Will asks softly, and Mike blinks, looking down at his best friend. There’s an uncertain look on Will’s face, and he quietly adds, “I didn’t sleep very well last night, so I think I’m, um… gonna try to sleep early tonight. If you’re still planning on staying up though, we can leave them on.”

“No, no, we can turn them off,” Mike reassures quickly. Immediately, Will visibly relaxes, and Mike offers him a shy grin. “What’s the likelihood I can turn them off with the hacky sack?”

Will scoffs. “Unlikely.”

“Okay, rude.” Mike makes a face at his best friend, and he narrows his eyes at the light switch across the room. “I bet if I just aim and get it right, I totally could knock them off…”

Mike’s voice trails off, and he tosses the hacky sack across the room.

He misses spectacularly.

Will bursts into laughter, and he offers Mike a crooked little grin. “Told you so,” he deadpans, standing up and switching the lights off. “You’ve got terrible aim, Mike.”

“Shut up, Will.”

Once again, Will just laughs, and he climbs into his sleeping bag, pulling his blankets close. Thanks to the dim glow of the Star Wars night light that Mike has in his room, it’s easy to see the softness in Will’s eyes and the redness still on his cheeks as he looks at Mike. 

“Goodnight, Mike,” Will whispers. 

Mike swallows the lump in his throat. The butterflies in his stomach feel relentless, and his own cheeks feel warm. Everything inside of him just wants to keep looking at Will and wants to keep him as close as humanly possible, and… and that’s… that’s not normal, right? That’s not how people are supposed to feel about their best friends. 

God. What is wrong with him?

Finally, Mike manages to give Will a tiny smile. “Night, Will,” he whispers back, and with one last smile, Will rolls back over onto his side and goes quiet, trying to fall asleep.

Mike doesn’t sleep for another few hours that night, and though he’d never tell anyone, he finds himself stealing glances at Will throughout the night.

(And look… if Will ends up waking up from a nightmare that night, and Mike pulls him up into his own bed, and they both end up holding each other through the darkest hours of the night, that’s only for the two of them to know.)

Regarding design, does Mike have hair in your AU? I remember seeing some speculation regarding recognizability, and I wasn't sure. Is it the viewer's choice? Also, are the mermaids in your AU more fantastical or grimdark? As in, are they pretty faces with sharp teeth hidden underneath, or are they peaceful and helpful (think Little Mermaid)?

Regarding lore, how do betta fish mermaids usually act (assuming that different species of mermaids act in different manners)? Would Mike be considered an outlier in terms of behavior? In an earlier post, you mentioned that Mike thought Axel was interesting, what caught his attention? Or did Axel literally catch him?

Does Mike have hair?

Yes, he does! I have decided that it will stay long as it is first created :}

Avec helped me a bit in deciding since Mike isn't like bitten by Foxy or something, he'd still have his hair and long hair is beautiful and pretty. He is considered pretty after all.

Are the mermaids in your AU more fantastical or grimdark?

I feel like it's a mixture of both, leaning more into fantasy. (I mean, the fic did start like the Little Mermaid LOL)

Merfolks can sometimes resort to eating humans by luring them with spell songs like sirens (each have their own reasons) but most of their diet consists of marine life (plants and fishes) and are generally peaceful and sometimes helpful to those they trust. Since most of the merfolks that sailors encounter are schools of merfolks that attack ships and merfolks acting out of self-defense by looking scary with their sharp teeth, it's widely considered that merfolks are as dangerous like in grimdark fantasies. Helpful, friendly and/or peaceful mermaids are ones like in the fairy tales.

Mike himself has some sharp teeth that can cut through meat with ease, for fishes and stuff and sharp nails.

How do betta fish mermaids usually act (assuming that different species of mermaids act in different manners)? Would Mike be considered an outlier in terms of behavior?

Betta fish merfolks are natural territorial, but not as aggressive as their fish counterparts so they are capable of hanging around other mermaids and other betta fish merfolks without breaking into a fight (but they can easily break into a fight when provoked). They also do typical betta fish things like the masc flaunting their fins and creating their bubble nests (they can't really store their kids in there but they do it out of habit).

Basically merfolks have the habits of the fishes they are based on but have their own societies/communities like humans do.

Though Bettas (especially the masc/males) have grown more defensive, isolated and stray far from the surface because of the mermaid hunters seeking them out. It is a little like betta fishes seeking out hiding places, but this one is out of fear.

Technically yes! Mike is... bolder than most, just because of his color being one of the first colors that disappear underwater in the color wheel and the fact that he's also insanely strong. He's just built different.

Like in the Parlourverse AU, Mike and Axel were childhood friends, though instead of Mike, it was Axel that got his ass almost died and lost his memories... and the fact that his village got raided because of pirate mermaid hunters. Mike considered Axel/Foxy as interesting because he's mostly checking up on him and seeing this guy as a pirate captain, he's like "wow this fucking idiot, what is he doing... I want to know". He doesn't trust him fully but like, the curiosity. It's a bit too tempting.

There's not much set in stone why Mike feels this way, he is confused himself on why he should still care about his friend. Also no but Panther did.

Tbh, if Foxy did catch him, he would have broken the hidden test that Mike gave him and the merman would have stayed away from him, branding him as dangerous and "no longer the guy he knew".

It's a bit of both I think? I have some of the characters set in stone, I think. Especially with Mike and Foxy. I need to unscramble my brain

They're still the characters we know and love (in my own interpretation anyways), except the fact that it's Mike and Foxy Yaoi AU. I haven't exactly explored the other characters yet though.

I don't have much preferences, other than that Mike should at least be mellowed down than he was originally, though still as feisty and sharp tongued.

I did cook up some relationships that are taken from the stories like with Mangle (Navigator) being a on and off caretaker of Jeremy (half whale/half human) as she promised Jonathan. Freddy being Foxy's first mate and is being teased a lot by Foxy. And stuff like that.

Just watched the fnaf movie and honestly? The community rating is very appropriate, 8.5/10 is exactly what i would have given it.

Definitely one of my favorite movies to date but also likely because of my autistic brain waited it for 8 years lol

This i liked about the movie:

The robots are active characters in the story and not just enemies the mcs run from.

They are not framed as evil or as the villains of the story either, and are actually shown to be very human and expressive.

Which is also very much a middle fingers to all the annoying assholes who were just a "unga bunga those are murder robots and shpuld stay as such" like no that's just bad writing and characterization, these are murdered children, they were human, let them act as such.

It is not game-lore accurate but an au, but it also perfectly works in its own context, a very good re-elaboration of the story to me.

William afton did not got the Vanny treatment! He appears at the end yes, but the 2 minor reveals about him were very good and made sense.

And he is an active threat! He does not get his ass handed to him immediately and is not just some guy who stands around with the knife as Vanny ended up being, but rather he is shown as actually dangerous!

The cupcake has also an active role! Which makes sense because i doubt chica has that much of a bite force, and the little guy being literally a head with a mouth would work well as her attack dog

Also the little guy had a body count as well and was batshit feral, which is hilarious for a thing that small

We get to see aftkn get his ass springlocked so we could say that he truly said 'it's springlock time' and springlocked all over the place

The only thing i would change is add like, 1 minute of dialogue between the scene where Vanessa tells Mike that someone broke into freddy's and him talking about his brother, and just to give the dialogue more continuity, rather than making it feel they just jumped from a topic to the other

Anyway i loved the movie, loved how active the robots were, how expressive they were presented as, and how much they actually influenced the story

Would love to see more of this saga as movies!

wow! i've never seen anyone on this site who doesnt like will before, but i've heard lots about them! i'm going to read more of your stuff to see more of your opinions and perspective, but my first reaction was this:

well, i think you've said it there above, that you do indeed care for will and yes, the show is trying to make you care for him. through the prism of these other characters, sure, but thats because he's fictional and therefore needs an entry point for you to care about him - in this case, his going missing. for example, you could say we only care about mike because will going missing, and finding el, exposed his caring side, his crisis mode, and that if ST was just a slice of life show with no major supernatural conflict, we wouldnt give a shit about mike wheeler either.

you might say you personally still would because you connect with him for some reason, but then that shows that the connection has occurred between your mind and the character of mike and is very personal to you. fair enough - visual storytelling requires both a creator and an audience to connect with a character, but that connection is usually built on what the creator has laid down, because at the end of the day a show is emotionally manipulating you, the viewer, in order to tell a story. they hope you connect with their story in a certain way, and therefore understand it.

the writers created what they thought was an empathetic character that viewers would care about with will, and they thought that they only needed a few access points in s1 for you to deeply care about this character: flashbacks + a soulful actor + the love of other characters. you not clicking with will as a character is perfectly valid, but it seems the overall idea of emotive storytelling has been lost on you if you think the duffers don't want you to see will as anything beyond a boyfriend or a son. at this point its not even about characterisation, but human empathy: even with only a few moments on screen in s1, they hope that you as a human can suspend your disbelief and view will as a real person, that you can empathise with him and treat him as a whole person that contains multitudes. no human and no fictional character is ever just someone's boyfriend/mother/son bla bla. they are a human, an individual.

to misunderstand this is either reflective of how you view people irl too, or a simple misunderstanding of the duffers intentions. will is not, for example, the guy from bennys burgers who was on screen for 5 mins in s1. he's not an extra. he's a core character so I'm sorry that you didnt connect with him emotionally because your experience watching the show really would be much richer if you had.

“Thank you all for joining me here,” Erwin said, standing at the front of the remaining soldiers. The field was sparsely peppered with people after having lost so many. Ilse stood beside you, trying her best to balance on crutches. Erwin’s face remained the same as it always had; calm. It suddenly began to bother you as to how he remained so level headed. There was so much more to learn about him. 

“It has been a difficult few days, and I’m certain all of you are exhausted and wondering what comes next. Today, I will announce the restructuring of our branch and name our squadron leaders,” his voice boomed through the air. Looking at him in front of you now, you knew that this was where he was meant to be. He was a born leader. 

“Hange Zoe and Mike Zacharias will be your new Squad Leaders. When we rebuild our troops I will expand leadership. Until that times comes, you will report to them,” he paused and scanned the crowed. You looked over at Levi, his face seemingly annoyed. “There is much to do now that wall Maria has fallen. Your roles have now become more important than ever. Regain your health and stamina. The time to fight again is near, and we all need to be ready to save humanity from this loss. We will begin training once again in three days. You are all dismissed!” 

The soldiers saluted and everyone scurried away. “Come see me tonight?” Ilse asked, you nodded to her and parted ways. You jogged over to catch up with Levi. “So much for our vacation,” you joked. “Yeah,” he said flatly, looking off into the distance. He seemed off. “Are you okay?” You asked. “Yeah,” he replied in his same distant tone. You both walked over to the stables together. 

Aside from the veterinarians and the operations team, the rest of the soldiers who normally cared for the horses were gone. It was often a role that the rookies and older soldiers had to do. There were hundreds of horses, and since the Survey Corps also bred their own as well, there was no shortage of things to do. 

The two of you were kindly given the worst of the jobs; cleaning out the stables. Levi already looked like he regretted joining you. He hung his jacket on a nail and rolled up his sleeves. You looked at him, bemused at his disgust. “Don’t worry, grump, I’ll take out the shit,” you laughed. He shot you a death glare, “Then why are you still here?” 

The two of your worked until lunch. Levi despised cleaning out the barns but didn’t seem to mind spending time with the horses. The mess didn’t bother you too much so you let him stick to brushing out the animals instead. It was quite amusing to see him here; the infamous Levi Ackerman cleaning shit out of barns. If only people could see him now. You liked these moments; when both of you felt like normal people. The past few days had been so hard, but here in the barn, the sun was shining bright and spring was finally in full bloom. Sometimes you’d flick pieces of hay at him and watch his annoyed face “I’m warning you, one more time and I’m throwing you in the manure pile,” he’d threaten. You’d just roll your eyes, “Uh huh.” You loved that here Levi Ackerman was just your friend, not some hero to swoop in and save everyone. Without his Scout uniform on he was just a man. What would you be if you weren’t here, Levi?

The morning had put you in high spirits again. Spending time with the horses was always nice and having Levi accompany you, but he still didn’t seem like his normal self. Afternoon rolled around and Erwin had called his former team into a meeting. This was it; you and Hange would ask him about your side project. 

The room was small but it held your squad, which was nice and made everything seem a little more normal. You sat next to Hange, their disposition always made you feel calm. Erwin stood at the front of the room. His face had changed a little now, in the most subtle way his features had disarmed themselves, and underneath his face was angry and agitated. Maybe you were beginning to read him.

“It’s good to see you all,” Erwin started. “We have a lot to cover. Wall Maria’s breach is a worst case scenario for us. The Garrison are evacuating all residents into Wall Rose and Sina. We may be asked to partake on these journeys as needed, but I have gotten clearance for the Survey Corps to hold back for emergency operations only. Our troops are too weak and we need to save our strength for crucial work.” He paused and looked around. The whole room was listening intently to him; he had that kind of power over people.

“First; the wall breach,” He pulled down a map, “It occurred in the early afternoon. Two titans- the likes of which we’ve never seen before- appeared on the south wall; a titan whose body eclipsed the size of the wall; standing at 60 meters tall. The other was a 15 meter titan with armoured skin. Both were abnormal. They did not attack anyone, however the damage that they did to the wall was significant enough to let in a large group of titans into the city. After they compromised the wall, both titans disappeared. We have no reports as to where they went, and no members of the Garrison could see the titans escaping out into the remaining lands.”

Levi looked skeptically at Erwin, “What do you mean they vanished? How could something 60 meters high just disappear?”

Erwin faced him, “Exactly. We don’t know how they managed to vanish. Most titans give off steam and disappear, but not in the way that the Colossus did. No one had hit it, it seemed to willingly disappear.” 

“How can they do that…” Hange trailed off.

“We don’t know,” Erwin replied.

“Are there any reports from the Garrison around Wall Maria?” Mike asked. “So far,” Erwin replied, “Nothing. It seems the enemy has not returned, all that’s has swarmed Maria is regular titans.”

“So, what’s the plan from here?” Levi asked. 

“The evacuation process is underway. Once the land is cleared of civilians we’ll be able to come up with plans for the next expedition. My hope for the next few months is to focus on rebuilding our troops and training them on the flare signal system. Additionally, I’m proposing that we set up a new base of operations closer to Trost. After yesterdays latest casualty; our current headquarters is too far to respond in a timely fashion. If we don’t improve this situation I fear that the MP’s and the King will use this ammunition against the Corps,” Erwins eyes were far away; he was already looking out towards the next expedition. If he had ever grieved then you’d never know it. “I will keep you all informed as things progress. In the meantime do your best to keep morale high around here.”

“That’ll be easier for some than others,” Hange nudged Levi.

“You stink of shit, four eyes,” He groaned. 

“You’re all dismissed,” Erwin finished. Hange jumped out of their seat and tapped him on the shoulder, you followed behind as fast as you could. “Commander, do you mind if I have a minute of your time,” Hange asked. “Certainly. Let’s wait until everyone has left.” 

The room cleared and the three of you stood alone. “Commander, after our last expedition, and based on the facts presented to us today, I think that we need to make a greater effort to study the titans. I would like to propose a research operation; lets capture a titan alive, and use it to better understand our enemy. With so many unknowns we should be better prepared to fight these creatures,” Hange’s face was confident and determined; you wondered how they could talk to Erwin like that. His eyes shifted towards you, “And how does Azeria fit in with this?” He asked.

Hange’s face lightened up, “Well that’s the best part! Azeria was a mechanic before she joined the corps! Her father trained her on how to build ODM gear and shotguns for the Interior Police. She wants to help me build something that would be able to capture titans!”

Erwin was paused in thought.

“We could work on it alone until the time is right. That way no one else would know of our operation,” Hange added. Erwin continued to think, and your heart pounded waiting in anticipation for his answer.

“I’m sorry Hange but no,” He replied flatly.

“But-“

“No. We just took an incredible loss. How am I supposed to justify putting more soldiers at risk of death for an operation to capture one alive?” Hange’s face dropped into disappointment. “I understand why you’d like to do this, and I don’t think its a bad idea, but right now is not the time.”

“I understand, Commander,” Hange replied, trying to put on a happier voice. “You’ve both done tremendous work over the past few days. Hange, I know you will be an excellent Squad Commander. Azeria, your efforts have not gone unnoticed. Keep up the good work,” Erwin said. His face regained his usual gaze. He was done letting his guard down; now, he was back to being a leader. 

“Thank you, Commander,” You both said. 

The two of you walked out of the room and Hange patted you on the back, “It’s alright, Azeria. Let’s trust Erwin. We can always propose it again when things are better.”

Despite the fact that you felt a little embarrassed for asking you smiled back, “Thank’s for letting me join you anyways.”

In a way, you felt relief; the past few days had shown you how hard it really was to be in the Survey Corps. You were looking forward to being a normal soldier again for the next few months.

Ideas had:

Directly after waking upafter being controlled by a bunch of psychotic clowns for like a year Michael went to Henry for help. Henry built him the end of skeleton shell so he could do stuff again But also made Michael internalized the idea that his life is basically useless unless he does vigilante stuff. Also the idea that it basically didn't matter at all what happened to Michael himself as long as he could still walk and punch...

"Nightguar" Michael Is introduced at a charity event hosted by William. (I think he definitely has a "oh you have dead parents I have dead children isn't that so sad" talk with Bruce at some point) Also Tim is there. Then suddenly as Williams giving this speech about "Look at these new robots I made they have a criminal detection system will protect Any children who walk into my establishments!". When Michael bursts in through the glass ceiling and tries to kidnap/maybe kill his dad. But because The crowd and Batman don't know the context it just looks like scary villain came down from the ceiling and is now trying to kill nice children's entertainer William Afton. Basically Michael runs after that and has a little rooftop fight with Tim. Throws down a flash Bang and then runs away.

All of the fun times can easily disguise as humans everyone except baby is just really bad at acting normal. It's also not something they need to do much-

Michael has a lot of hang-ups about being the only non-human member of the bat family for so long. Like everyone else can kind of take off the mask and do normal people stuff (mostly). But Mike physically can't do that.... He also happens to live in a city where most of the metahumans are villains and most of the heroes are normal human people. He kind of sticks out and sometimes gets mistaken for a villain (Kind of a loose adaptation of the whole looking like William hence people wanting to attack him thing for cannon)

Whatever kind of ghost or something like that Michael Charlie and most of the other cast from fnaf are Makes anyone who is in the presence of them feel really Uneasy.. This kind of fades the more time you spend around the person. (This is a head cannon I have for normal fnaf too I just think it'll be fun here)

Cassidy's powers are based on how much pain herself and the people around her are in. Either emotional or physical. she shares a vessel with Evan (because it's easier To say then crying child) His constant sadness is A Perfect power booster! If you're wondering what her abilities are she can trap people in nightmares, Teleconesis, Telepathy, Reality bending,

hello sierra i am having stranger things thoughts after losing my st hyperfixation like 4 months ago so feel free to ignore this but i want to say words

ok first of all i have been thinking about the party’s relationship w running specifically the original party but also everyone else because i feel like there’s 2 possible reactions that they have post-encountering the upside down. i think some of them can’t run anywhere without having essentially flashbacks to running from the monsters (will. to me.) but others of them run all the time because they feel like they have to be faster they can’t risk being too slow it’s a way of trying to take back control (mike. to me.)

anyways second thought completely unrelated but ive also been thinking about el’s relationship w gender through the lens of her relationship w her name because like obviously “eleven” is. not Her. eleven is someone with no control, someone who’s barely even anyone, someone she doesn’t ever want to be again. but i especially think that post-lenora her relationship with “jane” is also kind of negative, because not only is jane the girl who was taken, but now jane is also the girl who was ostracized and hiding and who felt broken. and i think that if she explores those feelings she would not only be like wow i’m not jane or eleven, i’m just el, but i think she also might be like wow i’m not that girl OR that other girl, in part because i’m not really a girl.

i absolutely LOVE that. you are so fucking right with both of them. will getting caught up with his own ptsd and flashbacks… yeah. especially because he’s literally in the place that we have no idea what he went through there and the only people who do are him & vecna. so he’s been handling this shit for awhile. or if he didn’t remember anything, i love the thought that he only starts remembering there so it’s like an extra thing no one was expecting. mike being slower in canon and usually like #no Sports no sprinting just No. but trying to run like hell because he won’t be the one to hold things back and he will not let vecna win. him trying to take back control since he hasn’t felt that since probably el “died” in season one and then again when bob did… <3 yeah. and i feel like lucas would sprint like hell too and yeah because he’s athletic but also because he’s ready to do whatever he needs to do to not lose anymore people and to get max back. and to not let vecna win. i feel like he’d be more controlled with the situation than other characters who might lose their grip on things too you know. it just makes sense that he wouldn’t be the one to slow things down. i don’t really know about dustin yet? i mean, we know he’s pretty fast and doesn’t mind running so. plus i do think eddie dying would allow him to explore more of that aspect of his character and be a motivator more than anything.

i think about the el thing all the time!! you literally said exactly what i’ve thought for months. and yeah, she might like more Feminine™️ shit but that’s also her way of trying to feel human again. like she belongs to herself. it’s not always honest (how she puts on makeup only when mike comes lol she’s trying to be as teenage girl as possible) but it’s okay either way yk, she’ll find her place in the middle, i think she’ll probably not really have a defined gender because she doesn’t wanna put herself in a box or category like she was for years. she’s just el. and also a lesbian which yes mayhe goes against my no label thing for her but it’s also a way of coming to something on her own and that feels right and her rather than a societal expectation so it’s okay 👍 you’re very right about all of that

Feel free to ignore this if you're not in the mood, but an issue I have with Byler is similar to an issue you've expressed with Ronance, and that's dating the ex of someone you care about. Like, if El and Mike broke up and Mike and Will started dating, then Will would be dating his sister's ex and Mike would be dating the brother of his ex. Obviously Mike and Will were best friends before El entered the scene, but the way that El and Will are now siblings... idk make it complicated for Will and Mike to date. Like very common if unofficial friendship "rules" are "don't date your sibling's ex" and "don't date your ex's sibling". Even if it was a mutual breakup and they've both moved on, there'd still be issues with it.

I don't know, it's a complicated situation and I know it's all just ships and fictional, but I feel like people ignore how justifiably upset El would be in that situation. (Max would also absolutely be pissed off on El's behalf, because SHE knows the rules!)

This has also heavily been my issue with byler too. Like I get that people want El to be happy for them and etc and that they want byler to happen, however in order to do that you have to heavily ignore the fact that Will would know that he is dating his sister’s ex. Which makes this even more complicated because we see will and El as chosen siblings - that’s canon. And idk sometimes it just seems like people just ignore the fact that El, Will, and Mike should be feeling a bunch of emotions if this were to happen. People just sort of make it like ‘oh they’ve all moved on so quickly’ and it’s like realistically that will not happen at all! Like you said it would make it complicated for Will and Mike to date because that’s realistic. It’s a struggle that I’ve had with byler because people just take away that complexity when realistically so much would change if byler would happen. And like you said the unofficial rule of ‘don’t date exs’ which comes even harder here because like Will and El are siblings here! These two are not just friends instead they literally see each other as siblings! And like you said even if it was a mutual breakup - there are still complications!

Honestly you hit the nail on the head with this! Because yeah it is complicated but also I’ve always felt that people just ignore El’s upset feelings. They always always give her the feelings of ‘oh she’s going to cheer them (byler) on and she’s going to be so happy for them only’ and it’s like is she even allowed to be human with the way that they want her to act? They just completely diminish any negative feelings that el would have which is weird because yes you would genuinely be upset that your first relationship didn’t work out. And in this situation it’s not like el has the choice to never see Mike again as he is a friend of hers and he would then be dating someone that she sees as a brother. It’s also even a little bit more bonkers because El is a character that gets jealous easily. While yes she has worked on it: el also has that flaw! And I love her so don’t think it’s me being negative about El lol. And yes about the max part! Because she would so be pissed off on El’s behalf!!

From the handful of games I've gotten to play, I've flipped back and forth between using content that I've made for Stories and using the things that happened to place in the Stories; have you gotten to flesh out more of your fantasy adventure through dnd or vice versa?

Oooo nioce! I've saved scummed, and crash and stuck in sidestep is Rough, omg the good/bad angst lol. I've played twice but keep being 'too bad' for folks to want to bust sidestep out lul. I loveee reluctant villains, they're so good. I'm a big fan of playing sidestep as 'fated' but reluctant, like feels they can't stop but wants someone (cough ortega) to stop them. I've tiptoed into the fully evil sidestep, it's veryyyy rough but if you love angst I highly recommend, oh jeez just the reactions.

I feel u lol. We tend to name pets along with food names, but the hilarity of a Cat named like Kevin is just too great. Clementine is a beautiful name and a dumb orange cat would be grateful to have it lol.

asdfaf yeah, i love my friends to death but they are Chaotic players. it's been a journey. if nothing else, i've learned quite a bit of improv, and fleshing out our homebrew setting helped me organize my writing quite a bit (especially my outlines). for the most part, i try to keep stuff separate tho, even if sometimes some things bleed over (like, NPC traits, or city structures or stuff like that), but the stories are completely different in both the general setting, and the vibes.

Project Hadea just updated and i read it last night and. god. so good. definitely check it out.

it started out as a linear story, and mostly for fun, but the more i added to it, the more other possible outcomes and scenarios started to make themselves known and. i am kinda considering making it into IF format. idk yet, i am waiting to have it more fleshed out (like, actually written, not just outlines and bulletpoints and scenes that aren't yet tied to each other)

aaaah the good angst. i will definitely play an evil route with sidestep. hopefully soon, i started replaying Baldur's Gate again and the Hyperfixation is. very strong.

unfortunately naming pets with human names seems to start to be a tradition with my friends. we already have a cat in the group named Mike (he truly is the definition of no thoughts, head empty. i love my furry nephew so much). some other friends recently rescued a stray kitty and named her Maia (which we all know several people with that name). the other pets that are relatively close to the group are either named after food, or have very literal cat and dog names (my aunt got a cat and she named him Motan. which is just "male cat" in romanian. truly like naming your cat Cat)
