so sorry but that post about "the reason boys and men are being radicalized is bc girls are mean to them" is driving me up the fucking wall. maybe i really am just on a different internet than the rest of you but. this sentiment of "women are being bitches who don't care about men and that's why there's Problems now" is like. such an alpha male podcast classic take. like it's literally "not all men". it doesn't magically become better bc u say stuff with liberal terminology. jesus christ

my hunger games au shit is making me think a LOT about the will-eulalie dynamic and the passion with which eulalie hates montresor (understandable). i think she hates montresor enough for will and her both honestly ☠️
in her eyes, he goes against every single principle of friendship she has and she wants desperately for will to see that (even if in the process it does nothing to help will's core problem of not having opinions/not being able to express opinions of his own). though, worth noting, while she currently feels that her friends left her behind — montresor came back for will.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
she says friends care, and montresor, however little and for how much he sucks otherwise, does care. meanwhile, her friends routinely ignore and condescend her despite otherwise being pretty okay — a behaviour she's accidentally mirrorring towards will by refusing to hear him out on why he thinks monty's his friend and making statements on their friendship with no room for argument, which undermines will's ability to make conclusions himself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
by doing this, she also inadvertently reinforces something monty told will which, based on will's expression in that scene and his behaviour in later scenes, he's internalized. fun!

I'm only about halfway though season 2 of Breaking Bad but I love how so far, the show can be summed up as such:
Walter: Jesse, we need to do The Thing, Jesse
Jesse: Yo, mista White, we can't do The Thing, yo. The streets have their own rules, man. You can't fuck around like that or else you get fucked over like a bitch, real.
Walter: You're a stupid junkie and you're stupid. I Am Right and we will do it my way and we will not get fucked over like bitches because unlike you, I am not stupid
*they both proceed to get fucked over like bitches because Walter ignored all of Jesse's warnings about not doing The Thing*
Walter: Jesse, you stupid idiot meth head! You're stupid! This is your fault!!

Louis' "You're boring!" Could mean so many things, but I think what's most apparent about that line is that Armand takes no initiative just for himself. He's not really anybody, because he never goes out and finds himself or gets attached to anyone but Louis. Without Louis as his guide he's literally just sitting on a couch picking lint! That's the thing.
He orbits constantly around what would make Louis happy, and never really fully going what would make me happy? Ultimately that drive to please Louis is what drives him to torturing Daniel, not so much that he'd care to just do it. Ultimately, not giving proper care to Louis is just a way to make sure Louis knows he has to orbit around him as well, with shoving Lestat onto him just that other nail on the coffin. So, even if he fails to figure out how to make Louis happy with him, he still knows what Armand is good for, and better than.
That dependency is what drives Armand's abuse. It really just comes down to that. Armand doesn't even realize how suffocated he is by his own dependency. This is just how life is to him. (It shouldn't be lost either that dependency is a theme considering this episode also deals with addiction).
Daniel's fascinating because he's just so driven to be somebody. He's largely independent, he seeks things because he wants them. It's his drug to poke and prod at all the things that he shouldn't. Daniel's exciting because he lets Louis in to something different, lets him in to all this potential in another person that he can also do the same with for himself. It's a real connection. A two way street. It's easy to tell how Armand can be smothering then because he's never introducing him to anything really new, and most the ways both of them connect are all painful and traumatic. It's never just fun because there's always that layer of that pain. Fun died with Claudia.
50 years on they've gotten to a lot better place, both of them, but it's still that same shit. No seriously, "How is this any different from last time, Louis?"
Well... Because Armand's going to be, at the very least, making one [1] decision only for himself - and that's to hold power over Daniel's life. Fucking sick foreshadowing.
They aren't driving each other to the brink anymore but "The vampire is bored" STILL. Maybe it's even worse, despite being in better places, because Louis' sort of just been defeated by it. (I mean, can he even really leave this either?). He's accepting the dependancy cause he kind of has to. He'd literally ended up letting all the enjoyment be up where he can't reach [The book shelves]. Armand so desperately wants Louis happiness but what really ends up happening is that Louis ends up having to give Armand all his own. He's got no one or anything else to get it from. But like an iPad and an over the top eating ritual. Two extremes of what's just more lint picking.
This whole relationship is one I find just tragic inside and out. You have to just pity it, really. There's ways in which you can find yourself feeling bad for both of them. But you can only really be mad at Armand for any of it. Armand, who isn't even 'free' in any sense, having so little concept of his own independence, but is at the same time so controlling over other's. It's a tragic cycle. It's an infuriating one.
Louis at least has the mind to know when enough is enough. If just needing that extra push to get there. Armand's too scared of it being over to even try.
#iwtv#iwtv character analysis#interview with the vampire#louis de pointe du lac#armand#loumand#amc iwtv#iwtv s2#iwtv season 2#don't be afraid just start the tape#Gotta feel bad for Louis for winding up falling in love again with someone ruled so much by their own undealt with shit#making him once again the victim of abuse for it#But at least I guess Lestat values his independence? And Louis to an extent.#Theres a lot less co-dependancy going on between them but it's still like ... there#I'm so serious tho when I say I really want IWTV to go in the direction of 'vampires all dealing with their shit and breaking generational#cycles of abuse' because THATS so IT too me. That's the juice tbh.#because a thing with immortality is that you can't partition away from dealing with shit through knowing you or someone is going to die#You have to confront it you're forced to or else its just FOREVER literally going to be there#Louis (or really Claudia) being the first to really confront that (chef kiss)#which is an interesting thing to depict because technically we all carry the burden of eternity w/in us. Our impact on the world lasts and#what violence we allow in the world without fighting or working against it will never change either.#We have to confront the truth and find reconciliation with all of it or it is just without end there is no bottom to it#theres a lot of discussion on it but I think Louis considers himself a survivor. He's lived to this point and will keep living.#He probably cares too much about the why he ends up a victim (the undealt with shit he can't blame them for) to admit otherwise that he is#Too an extent too he cares and loves the people he's been with to really view it that way. But also this survivor perspective is very#'immortality' accepting. Naming a victim sort of is like naming a kind of death that can't go on from there.#Might make these tags into their own post at some point

question that u have probably gotten b4 but i can’t find it on your blog ,, what brush do you use for lineart? i’m obsessed w/ how it looks
I very often use modified versions of this brush here (it's free in Clip Studio Assets):
Tumblr media
I rarely use a brush I download as is, I modify them until I get something I like working with! I have like, 6 versions of this brush that I use regularly so it's not as simple as saying I only use this brush but this is still a good base if you wanna try it out!
Other than that I mostly just use the basic brushes that comes with CSP (although modified as well)

My thoughts on Satan's new card story. Contains some spoilers
TLDR: people are making it out to be worse than it is bc it's happening to one of the "good guys." Also are complaining about the very nature of the game
Edit: A lot of people aren't going to see my explanation in the reblogs so I'm sticking it here too
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Satan being touched by "Gabriel" and lower angels. Nothing that hasn't already been done to the angels on Christmas. Touched his dick? Gabriel and the other Seraphs all received much more invasive treatment, what with the sounding rods and tails. Plus MC tongued Gabe's asshole before she stuck his tail in but whatever, right? Satan had it way worse (/sarcastic)
Edit 2: ok, NOW I've read the whole story and my point still stands
I don't have the card myself, but went looking for screenshots and summaries (all of which were complaining about the story content) and I didn't see anything worse than what happened in the angels' Christmas cards. And I don't remember seeing these complaints about those cards, despite them also having elements of sexual assault. I'll be making comparisons mainly to Gabriel's story since that's the one I remember most clearly.
The psychological impact on Satan due to being touched and put on display to an audience. Both Satan and the angels were subjected to being assaulted and made into a spectacle in enemy territory, but there is a difference in lasting psychological impact. By the end of his story, Satan finds out that it was just MC the whole time and calms down, accepting all that's happenedsimply bc it was MC. Plus lust is an accepted part of being a devil, it's not a taboo like it is to an angel. Gabriel, on the other hand, is violated in many different ways and receives no such comfort. By the end of his time in that tavern, he's covered in cum and spit, his clothes are torn, there's money shoved into the rips in his clothes, and he now has to come to terms with the fact that he has been exposed and used as a sexual object by many different demons, all of whom he hates, and has to reconcile this with his identity as an angel.
As I said, nothing that hasn't already been done, and I didn't see any such outrage back then. In fact, this is tamer than what we've seen before.
Not to mention, all of this is the name of the game. If you've played for any decent amount of time, you'd know the scenes, sexual or not, can get very intense and extreme. That's just the way the game is. To complain about said intensity, especially when you consider the fact that they are near-immortal beings and are literally in Hell, is ridiculous.
By all means, complain about the writing quality. I also think Satan's reason for coming to Heaven was weak, and that it was strange for him not to pick up on the fact that he was dealing with MC. But the subject matter is not the issue here. There's simply a double standard at play

This is brought up alllllll the time in fics as, like, a moral dilemma or something, but think about it. Think about the butterfly effect of Ahsoka letting Maul out of his cell on the Tribunal.
If she hadn't done that,
1. She would be dead.
2. Rex would still have his chip and either be dead or a slave to the Empire for the rest of his life.
3. Every clone on the ship would either be dead or a slave to the Empire for the rest of his life.
4. Wrecker would've either annihilated the rest of the Bad Batch when his chip went off, or, if they'd somehow survived, their chips could've gone off at any time. We don't know that Tech's guess about them being immune was actually correct, especially since it was disproven at least in Wrecker's case.
5. Number 4 means that Omega would also be dead.
6. If the Bad Batch and Omega were dead by this point, then subsequently, Mount Tantiss would never have been destroyed, Hemlock would still be alive, and Project Necromancer would continue with no real setbacks.
7. Number 6 means that Emerie would never have had the opportunity to see firsthand why what she was participating in was so horrible, and thus, she would've remained a slave to the Empire for the rest of her life.
8. Number 5 and number 6 mean that Crosshair would never have escaped Mount Tantiss and he would've been a slave to the Empire for the rest of his life.
9. None of the clones Rex ends up finding and helping in the Bad Batch would've found out about the chips and removed them, thus rendering them slaves to the Empire for the rest of their lives.
10. Number 7 means that the children Emerie helps in the end would've continued to be experimented on and remained slaves to the Empire for the rest of their lives.
11. The clone cadets on that planet in the beginning of season 3 of TBB never would've made it off-world.
12. Wolffe never would've found out about his chip and removed it, and he would've been a slave to the Empire for the rest of his life.
13. Many years later, Ezra and Kanan would've died on Malachor, so nothing that they do after that for the rest of Rebels would've ever even happened. Kanan would not have been blinded because Maul would not have been there, but I'd argue being dead is a lot worse.
14. Number 13 means that Thrawn would have won, and if Thrawn had been present during the events of the original trilogy, the Rebellion would've stood no chance, and the Empire's victory would've been resound and indisputable. The deaths of Jyn, Cassian, Baze, Chirrut, Bodie, and all the other rebels on Scarif would've been for nothing.
15. Number 14 means that Luke, Leia, Han, Chewie, and everyone else would've either died or been made prisoners of war.
16. Number 15 means that Vader would never have turned to the light side.
17. Number 15 also means that Palpatine would never have died, and the galaxy would have no hope.
Like... do you see where I'm going with this?? There's so much I didn't even mention because I can't just remember the entirety of Rebels off the top of my head, but... dude. If Ahsoka hadn't let Maul out, LOOK what would never have happened. Can you imagine???
