I opened my earlier text from this month and I don't feel like it does this month justice so I will run a recap of this whole month in a new post. This month was a busy one for me because I had more social events than not. I've cancelled on plans and scheduled hang outs for next month because I feel like I'm burnt out. Which is kind of funny because I haven't read a lot (I was in a slump) and I still haven't found a new job. Obviously, the month hasn't ended so new stuff might pop up but so far, this is what have happened.

On August 2nd, I had a job interview in person with a place searching for a Receptionist/Admin Assistant in Irvine. The drive there wasn't as bad and I kind of liked the feel of the place. I feel like the interview wasn't bad and I felt like I did kind of well, but they had me role play customer service. I feel as though I choked because I was put on the spot which is the only downside of it, but I think that's what didn't land me the job because I was well dressed and I was early. I even bought a blazer for this occassion. I thought it was annoying that they made me have an in person interview if it wasn't that serious and they ended up ghosting me so that was slightly annoying. I don't regret it tho. I felt like I did decent so it's their loss tbh.

On August 9th, Tim and I attended David Alvareeezy and Hunter March's Crowd Pleasers live show in Los Angeles. It was kind of a spur of the moment thing for us. We did think about going the day before because we realized that Tim was conviently off that day. David promoted the event in previous Youtube videos but we didn't think too much of it because we're like yeah it could be fun, but we weren't going out of our way to plan it into our schedules because we didn't think it'd be too fun. Anyways, it was a spur purchase but we really enjoyed it. We arrived an hour before the event which was pretty weird for us, but there's a parking lot across the venue for $20 all day so that was kind of cool and quick. We got into line and I really had to pee, but we had an hour to waste so we were just fat chilling. I don't remember why I was annoyed at Tim, probably because he kept talking about how funny he is and how the Camboys and the group will notice him and get him on stage whatever the fuck, but I had to pee so I didn't need him to chatter my ear off. After getting our wristband, even though we didn't plan on drinking, we went inside "to the bar" because I had to pee lmao. There was an Asian guy staring at us that I was almost 99% was Vic, Jill's boyfriend, that helped us load the carpet into Tim's car, but apparently it wasn't and he was just weird. We got to our seats early because we were inside (boo yeah) and so we got really good corner seats and were probably in the center of attention. All of David's friends came which I thought was very nice and cute. I waved at Rec, Brian, and we kind of talked to Marcus. Lowkey I think our interaction with Marcus was awkward but I think he was drunk so it be like that. We also saw the SuburbTalks pod people, and VIET, he's so effing small like it was NOT what we were expecting at all. Anyway, the whole show was really fun and cool-- I expected it tbh because I do enjoy David's content. And at the end of the day, Hunter RT'ed my tweet because I was real and tagged him hahhahhahah.

August 12, I attended Christy's wedding. She apparently is related to me but I swear I have never seen her ever. I have a post about this day so I'm not gonna say anything else. Next time, I wish Tim comes with me because it was so fucking awkward. I have another wedding to attend in October so hopefully he comes thru. ALSO, they said the groom tested positive for COVID-19 and will be double masking, but mf was NOT masked at all and was diddly-daddling.

August 16, we went to Wild Rivers, a waterpark, with Fermin, Kevin, and Jaz!! I was kind of iffy about it at first because I was like yeah, going to a waterpark is fun, but like why would we go and be judged. ME ESPECIALLY because of how I get with water. And then we found out it would only be the three and us, I was like, bruh, this is going to be awkward. But I'm glad we went bc it was super fun and a much needed break. The first ride was iffy bc I had to strain my back to hold onto the handles because I was sitting next to fucking Kevipoo. But after that, the rides were fun. A lot of yt ppl were there which made it weird, but we didn't really care after we had our fun. We went onto a ride where this girl was trying to cut us in line because she claims "we were walking slow" like girl I'm sorry are we trying to have fun or are you rushing somewhere HMMM. And her bf or whatever was like "it's ok!!!!" I'm like bitch u can go in front of us fucking rude ass because you are NOT ruining my vibe rn. Anyway, she was a basic ass yt girl and when I looked at the guy, I thought he'd be at least like TALL, but mf was a basic yt nerd as well. I'm like WITH YOUR ATTITUDES AND YOU WANNA BE UGLY TOO LIKE the scale of hotness and craziness is not helping you. I kind of felt bad for judging him because he didn't do anything, but by association, the attitude is yours too and the math isn't mathing. Being in line next to them was freaking annoying as well. Then we went to the wave pool which was a pain in the ass, but I feel like we stayed there the longest. My yitties came out a few times which I knew was gonna happen. Idk why Tim was so shocked like we were HIT. Fermin let Tim and I go, and somehow, we floated all the way to the end of the pool and I, being the small ass, slipped past the rope, and the lifeguard FUCKING blew her whistle at me twice. LIKE IM TRYING TO GET OUT ITS NOT MY FAULT PEOPLE PUSHED ME. anyway, I was fucking mad and freaking out so yuh. But we had our fun at the waterpark.

August 17, Tim and I went to Universal's Studios. We arrived pretty late tbh, and didn't get to go on 2 rides that we usually go on, but it was okay. The park also was closing early.

August 19th, I was supposed to go to McKayla's birthday, but I didn't. McKayla is Julie's niece and she was turning 1. I was in the mindset of going and got up early to go, but after awhile, I'm like yeah I don't wanna drive to Irvine and interact with people. So I bailed out on that hehehhe ooopsies.

So that's my month so far. Until next time.

Books I read this month;

The Nanny by Lana Ferguson (5.5/10) I didn't like this book as much as I thought I would/Tara did. The MMC has heterochromia eyes, which make me think of Luna so it made me feel a bit weird. Also, he was VERY dirty mouthed for a father which there's nothing wrong, but the fact that his little daughter was sleeping next door while he did this gave me the ick. The OF aspect for the FMC made it confusing. Not really, but it forced the book to feel modernized and I didn't especially like that aspect. I didn't connect to the characters as much as I did for the other nanny/single dad book and I was highly disappointed. I was attached with one line to the FMC's best friend.

Disrespectfully Yours by Jennifer Chipman (5.5/10) I thought this would be an interesting read based on the name. However, the book dragged on and I wasn't attached to any of the characters. At first, it gave me the Hating Game vibes and as much as I liked the book, I didn't like how it was kind of a copy and paste situation how they have a retreat and the MMC was attached by hip to the FMC. I don't think I knew the tropes correctly because I was taken for a loop when they started a FWB thing. I didn't like it at all. I did like how the FMC was tall and not the usual damsel in distress vibe, but that's kind of it. Also, the friends of the FMC has a cute group name which I really liked. I MIGHT read one of the earlier books just because of the professor x grad student vibe, but not so sure if it will drag on like this.

Consider Me by Becka Mack (4.5/10) This book was an absolute drag. I only picked it up because people said it was a similar vibe to Garrett Graham from The Deal, which is true, but this girl had absolutely nothing. I went on Goodreads and people were annoyed with the book because the FMC was a pick me girl, which I agreed, knowing how hard it was to read and how I disliked her. I don't know like she had no original personality like the FMC from The Deal. Yeah, the MCC was a golden retriever and all, but like he had no personality rather than make her happy. I mean, good for her and all but that shit's BORING. Give me SOMETHING. Although this book was the absolute drag through the mud, I kind of liked one of the side characters that was in the book. He also has a story, and the FMC of that book has a spicy personality so I might bite.

So Not Meant to Be by Meghan Quinn (8/10) Tara said it was too early for a reread, but it is what it is. I read it while reading Consider Me so it was a nice pallet cleanser. However, reading it a second time, I realized how annoying the FMC is, which is why the rating decreased. I still like certain parts aka JP CANE, but the FMC is so fucking annoying and keeps comparing herself for no reason. Like love yourself a lil.

Reverse Pass by Maggie Rawdon (7.8/10) This was such a cute idea. It was a pallet cleanser from Consider Me. It was short and simple. I enjoyed how much the MMC was considered a player hence why he's a sport player, hehhehe, but he was such a simp for his childhood crush, sister's best friend. He was such an innocent puppy for her that it was cute. The FMC was okay the whole book just towards the climax, she got annoying as she was stringing everyone along by not telling the truth of everything that has happened to people in her life. Other than that, I'm glad I picked up this short read. And the spice was such a fun idea to try hehhehehohoho.

The Score by Elle Kennedy (7.3/10) This took me longer to finish it than The Deal, but it was a cute little rom-com read. I loved the main characters together but didn't have the affection I had towards them like GARRETT GRAHAMS. We loved a reformed playboy book and this was exactly it. It made me cry, but that's pretty much because of the situation I was in when reading it. I did like the MMC's way of life which is a good thing to carry into real life, but also, we can't afford to make mistakes like pretty rich boy from Connecticut. I do not like how standalones connect because the FMC was best friends with the FMC of the Deal, but I guess that is what's supposed to happen. I like how in Breaker Cane's book, the FMC was HIS best friend and slowly comes around to the other FMCs of other books. This one is like stays in the group which was eh, but I liked the vibe of this book. Also, Tim bought me the physical copy so I was reading off that hehhehhohoh. They didn't really have a bad breakup scene or anything and I felt as if it was difficult for the author to end the story if that made any sense. Overall, a cute quick read which I need.

The Sacrifice by Shantel Tessier (4.8/10) I took a chance on dark romance and absolutely hated it. I wanted to give it a 4.5, but I gave Consider Me a 4.5, and this was not on the same level. Granted, I skipped through a lot of the text because I truly didn't enjoy it, but the ending had a twist to it like a thriller/mystery that kept me going. I told Tara about how bad it was because it was too unnecessarily spicy and dark, and she recommended me to DNF, but my go-getter attitude would not let me DNF so I toughed it out. I'm glad I did because I found out the ending and the story kind of made sense at the end. I hated how much the FMC cried-- it was like a wattpad story of damsel in distress with lots of sex. Bruh.

Random Encounter by Allyson Lindt (6.5/10) I took a chance on listening to audiobooks and explored a new trope, reverse harem, which honestly I didn't even know what it meant. But this book is written by an indie author, which I loved. The idea of having multiple partners sounds fun, but also it was too much for me. I'm surprised an indie author wrote this book because it wasn't at all bad, and the idea was new-- maybe it's because it's a new idea to me, but I didn't dislike it. I found myself into it and learning new things along with the FMC. I was a bit confused at parts, and the problem causing the 3 to break up was absolutely the most childish thing to complain about, but I get it. It makes a little bit of sense, but I wish it wasn't the problem that divided the 3 because they're grown ups. Overall, I will do more audiobooks.

The Definition of Intimacy

Summary:

Snippets of the lovelife of Yamaguchi Kumiko and Sawada Shin.

Notes:

As 2022 approaches and so does the 20th anniversary of Gokusen TV series 🥳🥳 after rewatching and reading tons of fanfics accross different platforms I decided to make one too to celebrate the fact that this gem is now 2 decades old. In this story, I have not included gokusen 2 & 3 because I have not rewatched it and because this story is mainly ShinKumi, but some parts of the manga will (hopefully) be included in this (like the part that Sawada did not go to africa but instead stayed and became a lawyer).

CHAPTER 1: The intimacy of his gaze

Kumiko have no idea when or how she fell in love with Sawada Shin. Her student, well now former student. She knew how she came to like Shinohara-san because he was handsome and he helped her the first time they met and the star-crossed lovers idea of her being a yakuza princess and him being a detective had excited her so much that whenever she sees him made her feel giddy inside. But with Shin it was all too different.

On the first day they met, Shin was the only one who met her eyes with such intense stare that he caught her interest though not in a romantic way as she was her student. It was because he looked at her with disappointment, anger, and nonchalance which made her wonder what made him act like that. Same for Shin he knew that somehow this teacher was different. Whether good or not he eventually knew as time passes. He looked at her warily, expecting her to eventually get tired of them and become the predictable adult who does not give a shit about them, but then he saw how passionate she is. Funny how passionate means her punching Kuma because he stole money from the vice principal (well technically only because the vice principal deserve it), and her threatening a bunch of students because they ganged up on Shin and Minami.

Sometimes she even wore that stupid 'fashionable' clothes, and he couldn't help but give in and say that she looked fine because she obviously wanted to help, definitely not because she looked really cute being proud of what she was wearing. It was because of her effort and not how cute her stupid antics are.

This all went above Kumiko's head that time. How Shin always gives her what she wants, she just got used to it, being spoiled by Shin. It was a bit funny, how his friends got always surprised whenever he lets her get her way, but still nobody had an idea, specially Kumiko, that he does this because he likes her. If everyon would just look at her just like Shin looks at her, they would fall in love with her too, or maybe it was just him.

Kumiko thought that she had gotten used to Shin looking at her, Lord knows how much he stared at her back when he was still his student. Though his wary gaze turned into curious, then into amusement, and then into affection. Kumiko was sure she somehow had fallen in live with Shin because of the way he looks at her. Like he knows her, the real her. Not the Oujou that Tetsu and the others call her, not the Yankumi that her students affectionately call her, and not even the Yamaguchi-sensei that her co-workers and Shinohara-san call her, but her, the Yamaguchi Kumiko a teacher, a family member, a yakuza princess, and of course a woman. He was the one who could predict what she would do before she even knew what she was going to do. And he was the only one who would go to her home to check on her when it was revealed that she's a yakuza princess, know that she would be depressed and would be blaming herself, even if he left early, in order to stop his self from hugging her knowing it wouldn't help her current situation.

Sawada Shin had known all of that and more all because he looked at her. That was what made Kumiko fall in love with him.

"Oh, that was a nice punch! Did you see that Shin? Maybe we should try to learn that move- eh?? You're not even watching! You missed it!" Kumiko got annoyed seeing Shin was just staring at her instead of watching the yakuza movie that she put on. "You do know that this is the 3rd time we watched that this week, right?" Shin gently moved her hair out of her face.

"A-and so?! That doesn't mean you can just stare at me. You have to watch the movie!" Kumiko blushed avoiding Shin's piercing gaze, opting to look at the action shown at the TV. "I'll reverse the banishment." Shin recited same time as the movie. "W-what?" Kumiko frowned still refusing to return Shin's gaze. "I have almost memorized the whole movie after watching one time, I thought you were the one watching it but you don't even know the lines." Shin teased. Kumiko huffed and finally angrily stared back at him, ignoring the butterflies that she feels whenever she looks at those deep brown eyes, which was now looking at her amusedly with a raised brow.

"Watch the movie, not me."

"No. You're more amusing."

"I am here at your apartment to watch a movie not to make you amused." Trying to ignore the way he moved closer to her face was more difficult than she thought.

"Mmhhmm then why don't you just focus on your movie and ignore me?" His nose was now touching hers their lips a breath apart. "I am not ignoring you, don't you know how distracting it is when someone keeps staring at you?" Kumiko tried to prove her point by staring back at him with the same intensity until she was almost crossed eyed but instead of making a point she made him chuckle "What's with your face."

"Don't laugh at m-mpff" Shin cut her off with a kiss that she immediately returned. Her hands grabbing his arms as he held her waist to keep her from lying on the sofa. Knowing how this strong woman, who can defeat gangs even those pipe wielding ones, get weak and melt whenever he kisses her.

Kumiko let out a gasp as a loud shout came from the movie and Shin took the opportunity to deepen their kiss, his tongue playing with hers, as he pulled her into his lap. After a few minutes, he gently bit and tugged her lower lip and slowly pulled away from their kiss, and traced kisses from her cheeks to her neck as he makes her face the TV once more but this time sitting between his legs. "Let's watch the movie this way so that you wouldn't get distracted by me." Shin whispered in her ear. Kumiko doubted silently that she would be able to focus on the movie after what happened but she did try even if occasionally she could feel him looking at her and his warmth on her back. Somehow, knowing that Shin is watching both her and the movie made the evening much more better

Wheel of Time Screentime, s1e8

That first season finale was interesting, to say the least. Quite a few departures from the books, sure, but it does set-up some interesting things for book 2 and book 3 storylines. IMO, this is also the episode that suffered the most from the Covid situation: some late rewrites had to be done following Mat’s actor leaving, budget got tighter, the whole battle ended up being full CGI due to Covid restrictions, etc. Overall, I still enjoyed the episode, especially on a rewatch, so I’m willing to give them a pass for what did not work well.

Ep7 revealed who was the Dragon Reborn, and ep8 definitely developed on that. While Rand got the 2nd spot in four episodes this season, ep8 is the first for which our favorite sheepherder gets the 1st spot. His In-Scene time is 7min bigger than Moiraine’s, with who he was traveling, due to his dream and later on his mental fight with Ishamael. Rand also has 11min more than any other folks from the Two Rivers. This was definitely his episode, which was expected and deserved.

Talking about Moiraine and Egwene, both appear either in Rand’s dream or in the fake world Ishamael showed Rand. This isn’t the first time characters appear in other people’s dreams, and so far I have never made a distinction between dream characters and real ones. I considered making one here, but ultimately decided against for simplicity and better tracking of characters over the whole season. As a result, Moiraine’s dead time corresponds to when she is killed in Rand’s dream. Meanwhile, Egwene is considered as unconscious whenever she is frozen in the fake world. Without that mental fight, Egwene would have a lower screentime than Nynaeve: the two of them are mostly in the same scenes, except when Egwene is comforted by Perrin (a 52s scene) and when Nynaeve and Lan talk (a 1m57s scene).

Ishamael had almost 8 minutes and half of screentime, putting him 5th on this chart. However, I am guessing his rank will be higher on the speaking time analysis, as that man was quite talkative.

I was hoping to see more of Min in this episode. Unfortunately, she gets less than a minute in her bar, talking with the EF folks that haven’t left for the Blight, and then a few more seconds as she is leaving Fal Dara. Bets are on concerning where she might be going: my personal guess is Tar Valon.

While I considered Lord Yakota as dead in that scene with Perrin and Padan Fain, I marked both Uno and Loial as unconscious instead. We know those two characters are making a comeback in season 2, and we don’t get an obvious “death” moment for them like we got one for Yakota. Similarly, I marked Nynaeve as unconscious instead of dead: her make-up doesn’t appear as burned up as Lady Amalisa, and in the books the One Power cannot be used to revive someone already dead. This could change in the show (how come Aes Sedai don’t have some magical CPR and defibrillator, really), but for now I will stick to the “Nynaeve was only almost dead” theory.

Gender balance is somehow decent for this episode, as we have about 13min more In-Scene time for men than for women. This is pretty much in line with the rest of the show, as only episode 6 had women with more screentime than men.

Of Zack Fair, Genesis Rhapsodos and the strange narrative POV of FFVII-Crisis Core (Part IIb)

Note: This piece of writing is an attempt to understand more on the narrative of Crisis Core, if you want to help, just give me some comments, I will gladly take in your idea.

Let’s continue with what we dropped off in last part.

5. The Fourth Wonder

After finishing the Third Wonder, the boy will tell you about the Fourth Wonder, which is a “Laughing Safe” in Shinra Mansion. So according to what the boy said, this safe has been there for a long while, and in the night people can hear laughters coming out of it. However, no ones knows the code to open the safe so Zack would have to figure out the code to open it and investigate what’s insides. For this one, Zack would go to the Shinra Mansion.

There would be four locked rooms and that one room with the safe in it.

However, you would notice that piece of paper on the floor, and yep, it is the clue for the code of the safe.

At this point you should ask yourself: “Didn’t the kid just say that no one knows the code of the safe? Like, there is an effing piece of paper that even points out the clue for each digit of the code... And the paper must have been written by someone, right? Right?” Not only that but even the order and the descriptions of the clues are so weird that you could actually feel like this is a set-up treasure hunt game. (but yeah, remember those clues, because they would be something ambiguous later) So, let’s just move on then. For the 1st digit, you can look into this room, “Knowledge Overflowing” means the books that are not on the shelves. So you look through the keyhole and count those books:

For the 2nd digit, you comes to this room on the 1st floor, “Unwelcome Faces” means the Balloons, so you count them, make sure to observe for a while because these jerks actually vanish and disappear.

For the 3rd digit, you come to the room right next to the room with the safe room on the 2nd floor, “Tasty Reminders of Home” means the dumbapples and apple juice cans in the room, so count the total of them.

For the 4th digit, you go downstairs again, now check the room opposite to the room with the Balloons; “Resting on Four Feet” means the chairs, so just count them.

Then you go back to the room with the safe and enter the code in and open the safe...

Wow, it’s just a cactuar. Although...

If you watch the cutscene here, you will see instead of jumping straight away, this cactuar jumped one step closer to Zack before it ran out of the room. This is quite like a “follow me” gesture.

So Zack thought it may be “somebody’s pet”. But instead of following the cactuar to make sure that it won’t stuck somewhere else and become another “laughing object”, Zack just... watched it ran away... Why Zack, why? Just follow the cactuar... But hey, that’s not the main problem here. Reading up to this point, you may notice this one weird clue, the 3rd digit clue and its room. Why is “Tasty Reminders of Home” means those f**king dumbapples and apple juice cans? What the actual fuck? To say that those apple things are “reminders of home”, those words can only be written by someone coming from Banora, right? But Angeal is dead, Hollander is on the run but obviously he won’t be around here, then who is? Besides, just looks at the detail in that room:

You can totally assume that someone has been staying in that room and used that bed before. So... with the fact that all of this is just a set-up treasure hunt game, there must be someone behind it, right? And if you have played through the chapter before, you will surely realize the only one person that could be behind all this. Genesis Rhapsodos, as he appeared right in the Nibelheim Reactor’s scene, which means he has been staying in Nibelheim for a while, maybe after overhearing Zack and Sephiroth talking about Nibelheim’s mission or maybe that he was the cause of the malfunction in the Nibelheim Reactor, I can’t be sure. But the fact is, he has been staying in Nibelheim for a while. And that room in Shinra Mansion probably was used by him. Okay, this one is so long, I don’t think I can continue with the rest of the Wonders. So see you guys next time then. Thank you for coming to my Ted-Talk.

FLIGHTLINE: 112 - LOCKHEED F-94 STARFIRE

Developed from the T-33 Shooting Star trainer, the F-94 was a first-generation jet fighter/interceptor which fought in Korea but was quickly retired.

In 1948 the newly independent USAF released a specification for a radar-equipped jet fighter/interceptor to replace the WWII-era F-61 Black Widow and the early post-war F-82 Twin Mustang. Lockheed responded with a design based on their T-33 jet trainer, which was in turn based on the F-80 Shooting Star fighter. Two existing TF-80C (the original designation for the T-33) were modified with a new nose containing the guns, radar and fire control systems. The original Allison J33 engine was replaced by and uprated J-33-A-33, which was fitted with an afterburner, the first American production aircraft to be so equipped. These two YF-94s retained approximately 75% commonality with the earlier T-33 and F-80. The first flight of a YF-94 was on 16 April 1949, several months after a production contract had been signed.

PRODUCTION, TEETHING PROBLEMS, AND UPDATES.

The F-94A entered service in May 1950, with 109 produced. This first model was armed with four .50 cal Browning machine guns in the lower nose, and like the F-80 and T-33 was normally fitted with a pair of 165 gallon drop tanks on the wingtips to increase range. Aircrews were not fond of these planes, and there were numerous issues with the early design. The afterburner-equipped J33s were not reliable, with issues plaguing the igniter and flame-holder. These problems caused a number of ground aborts and other in-flight emergencies. The F-94A was also unstable in flight and had poor high-altitude maneuverability. Finally, crews found the cockpit cramped and difficult to enter in an alert or scramble situation. There were also clearance issues with the ejection seats, resulting in several fatalities.

Lockheed began deliveries of the improved F-94B in January 1951. This aircraft was outwardly similar to the F-94A, but the cockpit was reworked to improve crew comfort and performance, as well as to correct the fatal flaws with the ejection seat clearance. The J33 engine was much improved as well, becoming a much more reliable power plant. A new instrument landing system (ILS) was added, and a gun pod was developed that would add two additional 50 cals under each wing, bringing the total to eight guns. As the new F-94Bs were introduced, older A models were returned to Lockheed and updated to the B standards. As newer aircraft replaced the F-94 in service, the planes were passed down to Air National Guard units, where they served until the late 1950s.

SERVICE AT HOME AND ABROAD.

As befitting the F-94s intended role as an interceptor, the aircraft were mostly flown under Air Defence Command auspices, equipping some 26 squadrons. The F-94s replaced older F-82F Twin Mustangs, which had been hurriedly pressed into service after a 1949 display by the USSR of the Tu-4 (NATO code name "Bull") bomber, a reverse-engineered copy of the Boeing B-29. The F-94 turned out to be somewhat inferior to the Twin Mustang however, having shorter legs than the F-82, as well as relying more on ground-based radar to guide them to targets. Despite these shortcomings, procurement of the F-94 continued, with air groups around the country replacing F-47 Thunderbolts, F-51 Mustangs, F-80 Shooting Star and F-86A Sabre day fighters with F-94As and later updated B models. Three Air National Guard (ANG) units, the 121st FIS (DC ANG), 142nd FIS (Maine ANG), and 148th FIS (Pennsylvania ANG) received F-94Bs and were placed on active duty to guard the Washington, DC airspace during the Korean War.

F-94s also saw deployment to Japan and South Korea as the Korean War heated up, with the first F-94Bs arriving in Japan during March of 1951 to train pilots on the new jet. Flights of Soviet MiG-15 fighters over Seoul in December of that year saw some of these aircraft being detached to Suwon Air Base to defend the South Korean capital. By March of 1952, F-94s from the 319th FIS were flying escort missions for B-29 bombers. Early encounters with Soviet MiGs indicated that they had been equipped with radar warning receivers, as the communist fighters would begin evasive maneuvers once the US aircraft locked-on. USAF F-94s were credited with several kills during the conflict, including the first jet-versus-jet night intercept. After the 1953 Armistice, F-94s remained in South Korea and Japan to fly air defense missions, finally being replaced in 1954 by radar-equipped F-86D Sabre Dogs.

YF-97A STARFIRE.

Even before the F-94 started seeing service, Lockheed began work on a massively redesigned and improved interceptor. This new plane, tentatively designated the YF-97 Starfire, retained the fuselage of the F-94, but had a new, thinner wing, along with swept horizontal stabilizers. The troublesome J33 was replaced by the Pratt & Whitney J48, a license-built copy of the Rolls-Royce Tay turbojet which powered the Dassault Mystère IV fighter/bomber. The fire-control and radar systems were also upgraded, resulting in a larger nose. Also fitted in the nose were four trays of six 2.75" FFAR, which fired out through four fold-in doors. The Browning machine guns were deleted. In service, firing these rockets tended to blind the crew, and there were issues with the engines ingesting rocket exhaust and flaming out. In response, pods were developed that fitted to the wing along the leading edge, each of which carried 12 FFAR. The nose trays were then left empty most times. This new aircraft was eventually designated the F-94C, gaining the nickname Starfire, which eventually became applied to earlier models of the F-94 as well. Lockheed began delivery of the F-94C in 1954, and they were quickly incorporated into the Semi-Automatic Ground Environment (SAGE) air defense system. As Starfire deliveries ramped up, the earlier F-94Bs were passed down to ANG units, then were retired.

STARFIRE ECLIPSED.

Despite being an advanced aircraft at the time of development, the rapid pace of aviation in the 1950s soon saw the F-94s made redundant by more capable interceptors like the F-86D Sabre Dog and the F-89J Scorpion. The Starfire was removed from front-line USAF service in 1957, after just 3 years, and the type was phased out of ANG service in 1959. A number of aircraft have been preserved around the US, among them a YF-94A prototype at Edwards AFB which is awaiting restoration, two F-94As, and 11 YF-94C and F-94C examples.

In addition the fighter/interceptor variants, Lockheed also pursued other missions for the F-94. F-94C s/n 50-963 was retained by Lockheed for a possible photo recon variant. The EF-94C ("E" for Exempt rather than "R" for reconnaissance because it was a self-financed research program) saw the radar and missiles replaced by cameras and sensors. The USAF was not interested, and the plane was later scrapped.

In January 1951, Lockheed received a contract for 113 single-seat fighter/bombers based on the F-94C. The existing fuselage, tail and engine of the Starfire would be mated to a new, larger nose containing 8 .50cal machine guns and a new wing that was 50% larger. The fighter/bomber, designated the F-94D, would be capable of carrying 4,000lbs of bombs and rockets, and would have had a refueling probe for increased range. Two F-94Bs were modified with the new nose and wing to trial various configurations for the YF-94D. The USAF canceled the F-94D project on 15 October 1951, preferring that Lockheed focus on the F-94C interceptor instead. One of the F-94Bs from the program, s/n 51-5500, was later bailed to General Electric for use as a testbed for the T-171 (later M61A1) Vulcan cannon.

Ver 2.0? Turning Point?

I can't really identify to which point in my life that i started to doubt myself but im pretty sure that it was because of UP. Damn, that school, my uni. It do really have the ability to make you feel small; i was in a disadvantaged side when i entered it, you know. I was acquainted, no we did not really talked one-on-one, but i heard when we did introductions - Pisay, UP High, science comprehensive schools, Xavier University, who wouldn't be intimidated by that when you came from Col. Ruperto Abellon National School (who would know where that is? I was lucky enough for a teacher recognized it and my classmates be like 'ahhhhhh,' .....really?! I dont even know where xavier is, it just sounds cool). Another thing is that, i wasn't a stem shs graduate - a leverage(?) or excuse (?) that i always use for them to know that i am at disadvantaged side here, not their competitor, probably a NOBODY. They, being stem graduates, have capstone projects you never thought that they have at that age, but i would hear them saying that it was publish in this journal (whatever, idk the journals lmao, i dont even understand their studies 2nd lmao, but that was some smart shit you know, a shit that makes me feel pathetic for being too proud of my what? Correlational study from inconsistent surveys?!!! Wtf, wtf, wtf). But it was a very good peer pressure you know, i kinda turned it that way. Being left behind, being on the rock bottom, i have no other place to go but up. It wasn't the goal, like making or taking the top spot, i just need to survive.

Inevitably, the exams came. I had hard time adjusting chem but math was kind to me. Who would have thought that i would get two 1.0 at my math subjects for the first semester, the sem that i thought i would barely pass. I was even a CS for that sem. Who would have thought? Our first chemical engineering subject that involves computations was on the list the next semester and the first exam, out of 100 i got something like 20ish. WTF. THAT WAS MY FIRST FAILED EXAM. but no, never did cry but tears were flooding inside. So apparently, i have to focus more on this subject and i did. Some were still failing, but i raised my average up. We also had physics, my first ever physics. I really love physics that time or that sir rommel is just a very good professor. I got the highest score on our second LE, everybody else did fail. Small victories. Not that they lose, but i just won. But i heard one time they were talking about me re: passing the physics exam and even getting a high score. They were uhm.. a guy i really look up to cause his good, the other was a girl that idk but i think she didn't like me back then. They were friends but eventually the girl transferred uni because who cares why. i heard the guy saying something like sin.o gid na si franklin nga taas iya score man, maybe even worse than that, i still look up to the guy even until now. But wtf. I really took it in that time, like i wanted to cry but did not. With all that, i got a fair grade at physics. I still got 1.0 at maths that sem and even maintained being on the CS list. S M I L E. BECAUSE WE HAVE A MIDYEAR CLASS. VERY EXHAUSTING FOR SOMEONE WHO DONT WANT ANYTHING BUT JUST ADJUST, SURVIVE, AND FIND MEANING OF BEING A UP STUDENT. It was just one subject and it was math, but i got 2.0?!!! I have no excuse to that, i am very grateful for the family who accommodated me. After midyear class, i did got sick, it sucks, really sucks. I wanted to file an LOA for the next academic year, it is the only thing i can think of for me to go back on track (i haven't said that my parents pushed me to graduate with latin honor and i wanted to also for my resume to look good because everything else in me is effed up). I really wanted to pause and be free for a while but i also wanted to graduate on time (mostly because i want to give the bitches who dared to have expectations be put on my shoulders not the satisfaction, but the audacity to tell them 'i aint did it for ya') so i asked mama. THANK GOD, SHE DID SAY NA KUNG ANO LANG KAYA MO, AMO LANG DA IH 😭😭🤧🤧 so i enrolled, but went to school late, haven't attended the school opening but all is good. I did kind of reset, just enough for me to face school again.

Second year, it was fucked. I did really love coding on octave and doing sheets at ms excel though. On that year, we have formed the che 103 bagsak group. Together with two of my classmates on 103 and math 55, we became buddies after failing che 103 on the first LE, another 30 over 100 exam hahahahaha. We made bawi just enough for us to pass the subject hahahahahuhu. I have thermodynamics sub, i barely pass. Thank G na wala ko nag removal. If ever i did, i am so sure that i wont make it. My GWA for that sem was not enough for me to be a CS. Who cares? I still did, actually but mama was never been too pushy since then, even since after midyear, after getting that 2.0 grade from the only subject i am good at. Btw, my math 55 for first sem, second year, was 1.25. Not a 1.0 but still, it's good. Second semester that year was when pandemic hit so there's nothing much to tell. I was, sorry but i was really, glad to be away from school for a while, not until for a while became forever. Virtual university set-up was very hard. With too much from taking in whatever i see and hear on my surroundings, even just at home, everything is difficult. It is very hard to find motivation and discipline in studying when i was surrounded with people who do nothing. Even to this point i am writing, everyday is like a battle, but is mostly an internal one. Self vs self, a war no one knows who will win. So the confidence, the tower of knowledge i did build, exponentially went down. I did really well when i was in grade 10, i did my best that time and it can be seen at the achievements i had that year. Being consistently on top 1 the whole year, placing second on division MMC (even getting the highest score on the written elimination round for the whole cluster), doing well sa physics under maam andico, placings on cluster journalism competitions - it was like a record best, best record (?) Whatever. But it wasn't enough you know, i eventually came fourth like wtf. I had read from somewhere Newton saying like the two years when he did write the three laws of motion and the calculus stuff were the two best years of his life, and it kept me thinking that what if mine already passed? That it was when i was in high school?

But, back when i was in school, every time that i was belittling myself or even at random times that i would feel nervous for nothing, my classmates and close friends would say na:

Uno mo man ang Math, uno mo na na (it was a one or two time thing, what if chamba lang to???)

Ikaw man highest sa first le sa thermo (it was really an absolutely one time thing, i barely passed that sub)

Alam ka man sa physics (i was just invested on physics and maybe nachambahan lang na ang ginpractice ko solve kay parallel sa exam ni sir)

Alam ka, d ka lang confident (OKAY???!)

I was ignoring those shit cause who cares if i did really good that time. Yeah, it felt good but it wasn't fulfilling. Satisfied but not happy. But with recent events, i think i would be changing. This post will be a written contract that i will push to be better, to start trusting myself, and build that confidence glow behind me; to believe that i am bright and i can hack it, whatever it may be.

For coherence, i would itemize na lang all of the events that brought me to epiphany lol

It was Friday, 17 Sep, when Dean, in our plant design subject, gave an activity for us - to come up with solutions that would address problems he presented. 1 off grid island community (either you address the water, electricity, and phone reception/signal problem under a 100k budget) and 2 vinegar packaging with a 500 mL volume and should cost less than the cost of vinegar. The due's on Monday, 20 Sep. The challenge is that you should come up with an idea that is not the same with those who already turned in their proposed solutions. I haven't turned in mine until Sunday afternoon. We are 23 in class, hence there should be 23 proposed solutions for each problem. However, only 20 or 21 turned in their solutions and as a student who decided to do it three days after the sheet was given, i was at the second to the last of the entries hahaha. I have limited choice since a lot have been proposed. And ngl, i did entered my idea for the first problem at Sunday evening and for the second problem it was on the afternoon of the next day. Those were basic solutions cause who am I? Am just your basic guy.

Tuesday, 21 Sep (#NeverForget #NeverAgain), class again for plant design (PD). Dean discussed stuffs which im ngl, i did not listen because im bored (not until he said 'we'll have a 5-min break and we'll have a quiz after that' like wtf, how will we do our quiz???!). After the short break, I did study cause i panicked as hell, he presented the prospects of the course, that we will be divided in groups and that the leaders were chosen based on the solutions they turned in the activity previously given. So there's no quiz, i was calm the whole time after that until my name was called. Like wtf??! Your basic guy will be a leader???! Hello!!! So i chat people, asked them if it was a good thing (course it was!!!? So dumb right?!). And then, i asked another leader and she agreed to my argument that we should only be divided into six instead of seven as what dean has decided. So i chatted dean (pic below). I just accepted the role half-heartedly.

As leaders, we should be hiring people for our team and we should make pubs. I dont have a canva account to help me do pubs. I made mine at MS ppt HAHAHAHAHAHA but im good so its cute. We were assigned with projects and i get to have the 4-member team. The vacant roles were project maven and liaison officer for a 3-member team. In my pubs, i included scrummaster as position to be filled, cause who am i to lead?! So yeah, that's it. I did the pubs Wednesday and I submitted my resume Thursday (third to the last hahahaha but my resume's cute hahaha).

Thursday. So i had this invite by a classmate to join the Shell event long time ago. He was reaching out for someone to ask Dean for his approval because Dean did not replied to the email he sent. So, i volunteered. I really want this competition cause this will be my first and maybe last competition as a UP student. So i DMed dean and blah blah blah he asked for selection process. I relayed the message and apologize to them for being me because i was thinking that it was me who made him come up with the decision of having the team be selected. Like, wtf i was just asking for his approval. Getting kicked out of the team was not my intention. Those whom i chatted that night were telling me that it wasn't my fault blah blah blah. So i half-heartedly agreed to them.

Friday came, yesterday, the interview. I am very anxious for someone who will be the one asking the applicants lmao. I already have been interviewed before for college applications and somehow remember the feeling, nerve wracking, whatever. To calm my nerves, i listed questions which i never got to ask properly btw, but at least i have concrete ideas on what to ask. The first interviewee was my very closed friend and so we just laugh and laugh and laugh HAHAHAHAHA. IDK if dean saw it but who cares. And the next and next and next. 3:30 passed by fast and guess what??? YOUR BASIC GUY HAS THE MOST NUMBER OF APPLICANTS TO THE POINT THAT DEAN CUT MY LIST. IT WAS EXHAUSTING BUT VERY FLATTERING. I FEEL SO HONORED. i really thought and very scared at the thought that no one will apply to me but wtf, just wtf. Ranking my applicants was damn hard. 1 i have a dream team but one was cut by dean; 2 this could make my friends mad; 3 this will be the group for the whole year; 4 i am really exhausted. But still, i submitted the list. I was hoping for the people i chose to choose me back. Only two out of three did, i am forever grateful.

Still on Friday, the classmate who invited me to the Shell thing and Dean had a zoom call and discussed about the competition. That classmate told dean what i told him the other day that i might be the reason for the decision of having the selection process done. He told me this through a voice memo, katamad daw magtype. A voice message that i played over and over again. Dean actually find me interesting (?), Invested (?) Idk exactly but the classmate told me na 'may nakikita daw talaga sya sayo. Na grabe ka ka-practical as a person like yung ideas mo daw sa plant design napakasimple lang pero napaka practical to the point daw na madami nag apply sayo kanina. And then, you need more confidence lang daw talaga' so ig, you basic guy is a practical guy now. It's just flattering.

Now, whatever happens, i must meet those expectations right? This could be a lousy motivation but what is if there's none? I dont know why im writing this. I just thought i should get my thoughts out. Ver 2.0? Turning point? Let's just do good 😌

Dr. Shahed (screenshot above) is an emergency department physician in Ohio who shared this post on Facebook. It’s an account of COVID-19 from the perspective of an ICU doc working on the frontlines in Seattle. Some of my laypeople-friends were sharing it around (and I’ve seen it floating around on twitter and various internet forums], but I noticed that it’s really dense and contains a lot of medical abbreviations and jargon, like it was meant more for other physicians and isn’t really useful for the average reader. So I thought I’d provide a translation for my non-medblr followers who are looking to stay informed. (If you want further clarification, feel free to drop me an ask)

This is from a front-line ICU physician in a Seattle hospital

This is his personal account:

We have 21 patients and 11 deaths since 2/28.

We are seeing patients who are young (20s), fit, no comorbidities, critically ill. It does happen.

US has been past containment since January

Currently, all of ICU is for critically ill COVID patients, all of med-surg [medical-surgical] floors are for stable COVID patients and end-of-life care, half of PCU [progressive care unit], half of ER. New Pulmonary Clinic offshoot is open for patients with respiratory symptoms

CDC is no longer imposing home quarantine on providers who were wearing only droplet-isolation PPE when intubating, suctioning, bronching, and in one case doing bloody neurosurgery. Expect when it comes to your place you may initially have staff home-quarantined. Plan for this NOW. Consider wearing airborne-isolation PPE for aerosol-generating procedures in ANY patient in whom you suspect COVID, just to prevent the mass quarantines.

We ran out of N95s (thanks, Costco hoarders) and are bleaching and re-using PAPRs [powered air purifying respirators], which is not the manufacturer’s recommendation. Not surprised on N95s as we use mostly CAPRs [controlled air purifying respirators] anyway, but still.

Terminal cleans (including UV light) for ER COVID rooms are taking forever, Environmental Services is overwhelmed. This is bad, as patients are stuck coughing in the waiting room. Recommend planning now for Environmental Service upstaffing, or having a plan for sick patients to wait in their cars (that is not legal here, sadly).

CLINICAL INFO (based on our cases and info from CDC conference call today with other COVID providers in US):

The Chinese data on 80% mildly ill, 14% hospital-ill, 6-8% critically ill are generally on the mark. Data [in the US] very skewed by late and very limited testing, and the number of our elderly patients going to comfort care.

Being young & healthy (zero medical problems) does not rule out becoming vented or dead

Probably the time course to developing significant lower respiratory symptoms is about a week or longer (which also fits with timing of sick cases we started seeing here, after we all assumed it was endemic as of late Jan/early Feb).

Based on our hospitalized cases (including the not-formally-diagnosed ones who are obviously COVID – it is quite clinically unique), about 1/3 of patients have mild lower respiratory symptoms and need 1-5L NC [1-5 liters of oxygen per minute, via nasal cannula]. 1/3 are sicker, need face mask or non-rebreather. 1/3 are intubated with ARDS [acute respiratory distress syndrome].

Thus far, everyone is seeing:

normal WBC [white blood cell] count. Almost always lymphopenic, occasionally poly [neutrophil]-predominant but with normal total WBC count. Doesn’t change, even 10 days in.

Bronchoalveolar lavage: lymphocytic despite blood being lymphopenic. (Try not to bronch these patients; this data is from pre-testing time when we had several idiopathic ARDS cases)

Fevers, often high, may be intermittent; persistently febrile, often for >10 days. It isn’t the dexmed, it’s the SARS2.

Low procalcitonin; may be useful to check initially for later trending if you are concerned later for VAP [ventilator-associated pneumonia], etc.

Elevated AST/ALT, sometimes alkaline phosphatase. Usually in 70-100 range. No fulminant hepatitis. Notably, in our small sample, higher transaminitis [elevated AST/ALT] (150-200) on admission correlates with clinical deterioration and progression to ARDS. LFTs [liver function tests] typically begin to bump in 2nd week of clinical course.

Mild AKI [acute kidney injury] (creatinine <2). Uncertain if direct viral effect, but notably SARS2 RNA fragments have been identified in liver, kidneys, heart, and blood.</li>

Characteristic chest x-ray: always bilateral patchy or reticular infiltrates, sometimes peri-hilar despite normal ejection fraction and volume down at presentation. At time of presentation may be subtle, but always present, even in our patients on chronic high dose steroids. NO effusions.

CT is as expected, rarely mild mediastinal lymphadenopathy, occasional small effusions late in course, which might be related to volume status/cap leak.

Note - China is CT'ing everyone, even outpatients, as a primarily diagnostic modality. However, in US/Europe, CT is rare, since findings are nonspecific, would not change management, and the ENTIRE scanner and room have to be terminal-cleaned, which is just impossible in a busy hospital. Also, transport in PAPRs, etc.

2 of our patients had CTs for idiopathic ARDS in the pre-test era; they looked like the CTs in the journal articles. Not more helpful than chest x-ray.

When respiratory failure occurs, it is RAPID (likely 7-10 days out from symptom onset, but rapid progression from hospital admission). Common scenario for our patients is: admit on 1L/min oxygen via nasal cannula. Next 12 hrs escalate to NPPV [non-invasive positive pressure ventilation]. Next 12-24 hrs → vent/proned/Flolan.

Interestingly, despite some needing Flolan, the hypoxia is not as refractory as with H1N1. Quite different, and quite unique. Odd enough that you’d notice and say hmmm.

Thus far many are dying of cardiac arrest rather than inability to ventilate/oxygenate.

Given the inevitable rapid progression to ETT [endotracheal tube, aka intubation] once respiratory decompensation begins, we and other hospitals, including Wuhan, are doing early intubation. Face mask is fine, but if patients are needing HFNC [high-flow nasal cannula] or NPPV [non-invasive positive pressure ventilation], just tube them. They definitely will need a tube anyway, and no point risking the aerosols.

No MOSF [multi-organ system failure]. There’s the mild AST/ALT elevation, maybe a small creatinine bump, but no florid failure. Exception is cardiomyopathy.

Multiple patients here have had normal EF [ejection fraction] on formal Echo or POCUS [point-of-care ultrasound] at time of admission (or in a couple of cases, EF 40ish, chronically). Also normal troponins from emergency department. Then they get the horrible respiratory failure, sans sepsis or shock. Then they turn the corner, come off Flolan, supined, vent weaning, looking good, never any pressor requirement. Then over 12 hrs, newly cold, clamped, multiple-pressor shock that looks cardiogenic, EF 10% or less. Then either VT [ventricular tachycardia, aka V-tach] → VF [ventricular fibrillation, aka V-fib] → dead, or PEA [pulseless electrical activity] → asystole in less than a day. Needless to say, this is awful for families who had started to have hope.

We have actually had more asystole than VT. Other facilities report more VT/VF, but same time course, a few days or a week after admission, around the time they’re turning the corner. This occurs on med-surg patients too. One today, who is elderly and chronically ill but with baseline EF preserved, became newly hypotensive overnight, EF <10. Already no escalation, has since passed. So presumably there is a viral cardiomyopathy aspect, which presents later in the course of disease.

Of note, no wall motion abnormalities on Echo, right ventricular function preserved, troponins don’t bump. Could be unrelated, but I’ve never seen anything like it before, especially in a patient who had been hemodynamically stable without sepsis.

TREATMENT:

Remdesivir might work, some hospitals have seen improvement with it quite rapidly, marked improvement in 1-3 days. ARDS trajectory is impressive with it, patients improve much more rapidly than expected in usual ARDS.

Recommended course is 10 days, but due to scarcity, all hospitals have stopped it when the patient is clinically out of the woods. None have continued >5 days. It might cause LFT bump, but interestingly seem to bump (200s-ish) for a day or 2 after starting, then rapidly back to normal, suggests this is not a primary toxic hepatitis.

Unfortunately, the Gilead compassionate use and trial programs require AST/ALT <5x normal, which is pretty much almost no actual COVID patients. Also CrCl [creatinine clearance] >30, which is fine. CDC is working with Gilead to get LFT requirements changed now that we know this is a mild viral hepatitis.

Currently the Gilead trial is wrapping up, NIH trial still enrolling, some new trial soon to begin, can’t remember where.

Steroids are up in the air. In China, usual clinical practice for all ARDS is high dose methylprednisolone. Thus, ALL of their patients have had high dose methylprednisolone. Some question whether this practice increases mortality.

It is likely that it increases secondary VAP/HAP [ventilator-associated pneumonia/hospital-acquired pneumonia]. China has had a high rate of drug-resistant GNR [Gram-negative rod] HAP/VAP and fungal pneumonia in these patients, with resulting increases in mortality. We have seen none, even in the earlier patients who were vented for >10 days before being bronch’ed (prior to test availability. Again, it is not a great idea to bronch these patients now).

Unclear whether VAP-prevention strategies are also different [in China vs US], but wouldn’t think so?

Hong Kong is currently running an uncontrolled trial of HC 100IV Q8 [hydrocortisone 100 mg IV every 8 hours].

General consensus here (in US among doctors who have cared for COVID patients) is that steroids will do more harm than good, unless needed for other indications.

Many of our patients have COPD on ICS [inhaled corticosteroids]. Current consensus at Evergreen, after some observation & some clinical judgment, is to stop ICS if able, based on known data with other viral pneumonias and increased susceptibility to HAP. Thus far patients are tolerating that, no major issues with ventilating them that can’t be managed with vent changes. We also have quite a few on AE-COPD [acute exacerbation of COPD]/asthma doses of methylprednisolone, so will be interesting to see how they do.

BnHA Chapter 238: Shigaraki Tomura: Tattered Goth Remix

Previously on BnHA: Young Shimura Tenko killed his whole family, as angsty young misguided antagonist characters sometimes do, and then proceeded to wander the streets feeling all sad about it until All for One just happened!! to come across him and was all “oh you poor thing it looks like you killed your whole family by accident, let me just adopt you and raise you to be my own personal killing machine.” We got some more flashbacks showing just how this transformation took place, plus some answers about the hands that kind of just raised more questions though tbh, and watched as little Tenko made his first premeditated kill after a number of effed up AFO pep talks. AFO then rechristened him “Shigaraki Tomura”, and we learned that Shigaraki is actually AFO’s own last name. The chapter ended back in the present day, with Tomura reflecting on how his family’s death wasn’t really a tragedy after all and ended up setting him free. We’ll have to agree to disagree, kid, but in the meantime have fun fucking up Re-Destro and dealing with Gigantomachia’s rampage!

Today on BnHA: Re-Destro tries to smash Tomura at 100% and absolutely nothing happens. So then he summons a bunch of robot armor bits like fucking Iron Man, and levels up to 150%! Tomura could not care less, because he’s leveled up to be one of those “yawn, is that all you got?” bad guys now, and while RD desperately tries to intimidate him, we briefly check in with the rest of the League. Everyone is freaking out at how quickly Machia is destroying the Liberation Army, and Compress calls Ujiko and frantically begs him to warp them all to safety. But Ujiko is all “nah” and says he wants to drive Tomura into a corner. Meanwhile Gigantomachia finally takes out Dairy Queen, since Dabi was doing fuckall, and the chapter ends with Tomura possibly killing Re-Destro?? To be honest it’s really unclear. For all I know the dude just dropped dead of a heart attack from all that stress. In fact, now that I’ve typed that, I kind of think that’s what did happen. Anyway! The point is I’m pretty sure the battle is finally over.

(All comments are my unspoiled reactions from my initial readthrough of the chapter. I did a quick edit for grammar and clarity immediately afterward, and added one or two ETAs in the process, but aside from that there are no changes.)

so I mentioned this in an ask post a couple days ago, but this recap is a day late because I was out of town this week. consequently I’m behind on my asks and other things as well (I know, what else is new), so I’m sorry about that!

also! @temperatezone informed me that there’s yet another BnHA spinoff coming out, and that the preview chapter debuted last week! so I went to check it out, and holy shit, it’s a manga all about the U.A. kids teaming up with various pro heroes!!!!??!! between this and the new anime season coming up in just two months (it’ll fly by) and BakuDeku: Heroes Rising coming out in December, I feel like I’m being fucking spoiled with BnHA content. and I didn’t even mention the 2nd light novel which just had its official English translation released last month! so all in all it’s a lot of good stuff, and I desperately want to recap chapter 0 of the new spinoff as soon as possible, but it’ll probably be a few days unfortunately, unless I decide to be very irresponsible and do that instead of the piles of work I should actually be doing. we’ll see which impulses actually win out sob

fortunately Jump is on a break next week if I recall, so that’ll give me some time to catch up. anyway let’s start this thing before I manage to procrastinate anymore! so the new chapter is called “Liberation”, probably after a certain army

and the chapter is picking up where we left off before, with Tomura taking his Father Hand out of his pocket and saying he doesn’t need it or any of his other hands

5. Which fandoms have your written fanfiction for?

I have never been a superly monofannish person, and I have written for a fair number of fandoms, but discounting fandoms that I was assigned for fic exchanges I have written for Gundam Wing, Fullmetal Alchemist, Escaflowne, Mighty Ducks, Inuyasha, City Hunter, Dawson’s Creek, Avatar the Last Airbender, Sailor Moon, Ouran High School Host Club, Eureka Seven, Steven King’s IT/IT (2017), V (2009) and due to my one lone Beronica Fic, I guess you can say I have technically written for Riverdale. About a month ago I orphaned a lot of my older works because they had become a bit incongruous with what I want attached to my name, so not all of those fandoms are still present on my AO3.

Fandoms that I’ve written exclusively for Yuletide as my main assignment are: Soul Eater, Diana Wynne Jones’ Archer’s Goon, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Claymore, Drive Me Crazy, and Notting Hill.

8. How did you get involved in your latest fandom?

Well this is a fun story, but it is sort of a set of factors that brought me to watch an old 90s teen soap opera in this the year of 2018/2019. I should start by saying back when I was a part of the actual target demo for teen shows I only watch Buffy and didn’t deign to watch any of those other inferior teen shows and actually counted not being a weekly viewer of Dawson’s Creek as a point of pride. (It was very much one of those “I’m not like those other girls” nonsense attitudes, oh bb!Kristen you stupid, stupid girl). I did however osmose certain things about the show because at that time, you just sort of did. So how did I go back and actually watch this show well….

The first factor was that in the back half of 2017 I had the weirdest dream, where I literally dreamed the plot of my current WIP Boy Problems for Disney’s The Mighty Ducks which I had not seen or thought of in years (God told Joan of Arc to save France, God tells me to write steamy obscure dudeslash fic, Thanks God!).

The 2nd Factor was that in like October of 2017, I watched Riverdale which I binged and then kept through to the winter finale of season 2 and then 5 months later thinking I was free (spoiler: I was not in fact free) and I started sort of following it and now I am here sort of following it week to week, but mostly mocking it while dreaming of my super gay alternative, and being increasingly annoyed with the fandom’s tendencies to make superficial comparisons to other show, a fandom trend I have always hated and that harkens back to Zutara fandom in ATLA (Zutara is not 1xr or Van/Hitomi, thanks).

And the third factor was that way back in like July or August or some time there was a clickbait article that was basically TV shows characters that should have ended up with someone else/wrong endgame pairings which I clicked mostly because I wanted to see what they wrote about the How I Met Your Mother finale (I love reading takes on the HIMYM finale, I find it fascinating) and well the clickbait article stated that Dawson/Joey should have been endgame. This intrigued me because it contradicted everything I had ever heard/osmosed about the show.

So I decided that I would watch it to draw my conclusions and to see if what I had heard was wrong (which I thought was a possibility because I don’t by my nature trust giant ship fandoms like PJo was back in the day, it’s something I still sort of keep to this day), and I was like I will mock it and at the very least I will be able to have ammo against stupid fandom comparisons and due to a shared actor, maybe pick up good screen caps for like a moodboard for The Fic that had now progressed from being a dream to a thing that actually exists.

And so I started it and as God would have it, I got invested, and now find that the Clickbait article was wrong, fandom needs to shut up Bughead/Barchie/Jeronica is not like Pacey/Joey thankyouverymuch, and I can’t use caps for a mood board because I would just cry and can’t associate anything from the show with anything else.

So that’s story about how this dumb binch got invested in Dawson’s Creek years after everyone has moved on!

21. What was the first fanfic you ever wrote?

No Joke, the first fanfic that I wrote down and then posted was a Sailor Moon/Gundam Wing crossover that was basically just a retelling of the story of Sailor Moon with added giant robots. If you are like “Please tell me it wasn’t Senshi/Pilots” I am afraid I can tell you that (The pairings were if I recall Heero/Serena, Duo/Amy (What?!), Wufei/Raye, Trowa/Lita (cause they were both tall) and Quatre/Mina (Oh Quatre sweetie, I’m so sorry)) I killed Mamoru, and Relena just didn’t exist because this was set more in the SM universe than the GW one so I just brought over the pilots. It was multi-chaptered and I wrote a chapter a day. I wrote five parts of it covering all 5 arcs of Sailor Moon.

Yes, I was totally better than those other girls as you can see. And no, those fics no longer exist online. In my defense I was 15 years old, I had not yet realized I was a lesbian and if I were to write that story now it would be Usagi/Relena because that story would be effing amazing.

36. What’s your favourite genre to write?

I enjoy a long slice of life romcom if I’m honest. The plotting of both my longest fics (Boy Problems and Living Arrangements) are the sort of stories that i love to write and come the easiest to me. I am also partial to quiet thematic characters beats and fics that explore characters putting things back together which if I can ever get back to 1xR as a ship that inspires me, I would love to do just a slice of life romance of them paralleling and finding their way back to each other. Also just cute romcom premises are always fun.

40. What do you struggle the most with in your writing?

I am so off and on when it comes to prose. Like there are times where I can do it and I love it, and other times it’s a struggle and I have to fight from just making everything dialogue (I maintain confidence in my dialogue.)

46. If someone was to read one of your fanfics, which fic would you recommend to them and why?

I think both Boy Problems (Mighty Ducks) and Living Arrangements (Dawson’s Creek) are the most apparent clear examples of where I am right now as a writer, but they are longer and the fandoms aren’t super in anyone’s face. I would say of my shorter one-shots, Save the Last Dance (Gundam Wing) and Once Lost, Now Found (City Hunter) are the most emblematic of me as a writer and my approach to characterisation. I also every once again get into to hugely stylistic gen pieces that I generally feel very proud of like Creation in Nine Acts (Avatar the Last Airbender, a mock creation myth for the Avatarverse, written before Korra was a thing but was not meant as the literal creation myth anyways) and State of IT (IT a short vignette from IT’s point of view.

51. Rant or Gush about one thing you love or hate in the world of fanfiction! Go!

I don’t know if this a thing I love or hate, but I am tired of fandom’s missives of you MUST COMMENT/KUDOS on everything you read. Comments/kudos/likes/reblogs on fanworks (not just fic) are great, but I don’t think that anyone is obligated to do any of those things. I think what I would rather do than rant or gush is to say that I think if you are a creator try to at least find comfort in validation of respecting and loving your own work. Write for yourself first and foremost. I think when I let go of the need for validation was when I really allowed myself to grow and appreciate myself as a writer. I wasn’t worried about what other people would think but just if I can read this and enjoy it and allows me a little more time thinking and writing about characters that I love than I am good, and I post it as a sort of second thought for if I enjoy it there may be others (even if it is one other person). Sen Çal Kapimi Theories Ep 22

So we’ve got two fragmans for the next episode now so I figured I’d do another theory post. I am writing a review for ep 21 but I probably won’t post that until tomorrow. So naturally there are potential spoilers so fair warning.

Now everyone is freaking out about this newest fragman and I understand why I was a bit taken aback myself. But if there is one thing I have learnt its that you should never ever trust a Sen çal kapimi fragman because they are always so misleading. I do think that’s the case with this one I think this is a red herring type thing going on. The narrative the 2nd fragman seems to be trying to convince us of is that this new PR woman is going to be causing problems between Serkan and Eda. The most worrying scene is the one at the end of the fragman where Serkan answers the door and Balca is there. I don’t think this is going to go down the way we think it will. I really do think they are playing with us here. I do have one theory as to what I think will happen though I’m not sure how likely it is and I’m not completely sold on it myself. But here are my best theories from the first two fragmans.

In the beginning of the second fragman as Balca is making her entrace you can hear someone in the voiceover saying ‘you will get a job offer from either interior design or an architecture company.’ Later we see a shot of Balca sitting opposite a blonde haired woman in a leopard coat:

In this scene it seems like this woman is saying that successful people have the initials SBB. I actually think this is a fortune teller and she is telling Balca that she will be offered a job at Art Life and that she is destined to be with someone with the initals SB. So obviously Balca is going to get this job offer then meet Serkan Bolat and think that its fate. Here’s the thing though I think we can safely say that all this has been orchestrated and planned. I think the ‘fortuneteller’ is hired by someone to set this up.

One option could of course be that its Eda’s grandmother working behind the scenes. But the thing is I don’t think Efe or the grandmother would have any power by themselves to hire a new PR agent for Art Life, especially not one that Serkan will immediately accept. I feel like the most likely person to hire the new PR Agent would be Seline herself. Remember way back in episode one when Eda said to Layla weren’t you fired. Layla replied that even though she had been fired in the company you are still expected to hang around until your position is filled and you have to train the new person. I think this is what is going to happen. Seline will hire Balca and then train her but she’ll use it to her advantage to drive Eda and Serkan apart. I do feel like Seline is still on the revenge track and very much in a if I can’t have Serkan then Eda definitely can’t kind of attitude so much so that she’s even willing to throw another woman at Serkan to destroy his and Eda’s relationship. I think Seline has accepted that Serkan never loved her and never will but like she said to Pyryl in ep 20 if she isn’t happy she doesn’t want to see Edser happy it is possible that she will also try to make sure Balca and Serkan are seen and photographed by the press to reinforce the narrative that Eda broke up with Serkan because he cheated. In these screenshots:

you can see Seline talking to someone on the phone and then turning to follow Balca with her eyes as Balca walks by. I think she could potentially be on the phone to the ‘fortuneteller’ at this moment. I definitely get the feeling that she is scheming. The following shot after this is this one:

Where Seline is talking to Balca and it seems like she is pushing her towards Serkan. Now in my opinion I do think Seline is still very much scheming and trying to rip Edser apart out of heartbreak and jealousy. But I could be totally wrong and she could just be generally being nice and helping Balca out who knows. It is possible that Seline is now working with Efe and the grandmother but I’m not sure how likely that is.

When the character was first announced I did think she could potentially be working with the grandmother but having seen this fragman I actually think poor Balca is actually going to be as much a victim in this scenario as Edser and very much going to played the puppet by Seline. I actually don’t think that she will be a bad guy or villian of the show just that she’s been told that Serkan is her destiny and that’s going to fuel her actions.

Ok so on to the big moment of the fragman the ending. Now I like others did notice a small detail that might be a clue which is if you look at the scene when he is talking to Sirius wondering if Eda will come to them that night and there’s a knock at the door he is wearing a tie.

But when he opens the door he’s not wearing the tie and his top buttons are undone.

So the hope is that when he’s wearing the tie and there’s a knock on the door that’s actually Eda and then later there’s another knock on the door and it’s Balca. We know that Eda is going to go over there because of the scene where Melo says Serkan told you one of his wishes and Eda replies he wants me to suprise him one night and come over. Then we see her ask the girls should I go knock on his door and we see beautiful Jeren do that adorable knocking motion. So Eda is going to go over there the question is does she get there before Balca does or not. Well my unlikely to happen but really hope it does scenario is this. In this screenshot:

You can see that Serkan is wearing that tie. Also the other thing that caught my attention is the part where Melo and Eda talk about how one of Serkan’s wishes is for her to come to him one night is spoken over this scene of Edser re-enacting the pottery scene from Ghost. Which makes me think the two scenes might be connected. I think Eda will go to Serkan and the pottery scene will happen at Serkan’s house.

I mean there’s no way really of knowing where this room is. It looks like it could be a work shop somewhere but it could also be in Serkan’s home there’s alot of his house that we haven’t seen. Also I feel like Serkan and his mother are very similar, both like Architecture, both like horses, both are into the healthy eating, both like to make sure everything is tidy and in its place, we saw this with Aydan reorganising things on Ayfer’s table and Serkan’s obsession with making sure the chairs in the meeting room are tidy. We know that Aydan enjoys pottery so it’s not outside the realm of reason that Serkan might also like pottery. Also he is rich enough where he could have a workroom in his home. It would also explain why he’s not got his tie on when he goes to the door. After playing with the clay for a while either things get a little heated and Eda takes off his tie then they get interrupted or when they clean up after they’ve finished their project Serkan takes his tie off and unbuttons his shirt to get more comfortable and settle in for a night of cuddles with Eda on the sofa. One thing that does through a wrench in my theory is that beautiful light shining down on them. Now this could possibly be a ceiling light, but to me it looks more like sunlight shining through a window which obviously means this doesn’t happen in the evening. But who knows maybe it is an electrical light?

Either way we know that this pottery scene happens on the same day as when Balca knocks on the door as Serkan is wearing the same shirt and vest and tie. At first I thought maybe this pottery scene was one of his wishes but Melo specifically says Serkan has told one of his wishes, and we know that is for her to come to him in the evening so now I’m not sure. It’s always hard to tell the timing of the fragmans and whether they are even in order.

The other concerning moment I suppose you could call it is when Serkan says this:

‘Too much grace can bore out love.’ I actually didn’t really understand this statement so I typed the turkish subtitles into google translate it came back as ‘too much grace will make you tired of love.’ So basically being too polite can make you get bored. Now this could be something he says to Eda but I also think its possible he’s talking to Seline in this moment. Maybe she’s asking why they didn’t work. I feel like if we’re being honest there isn’t much danger of Edser getting bored of each other because Eda or Serkan is being too polite. Lets be real they’ve got a pretty firey relationship. Whereas we know that Seline was very accomadating of Serkan and his wants. She stayed with him for years even though he told her he would never live with her and even though he didn’t seem interested in proposing to her. She was too polite to say anything to him and eventually she just left. Another reason why I think it might potentially be Seline in this scene is because to me the hair colour seems to be a tad bit too light for Eda.

If you look at this screenshot you can see that Seline does have some darker tones at the top of her hair and to me this colour is a closer match to the hair we can see in the screenshot.

However I don’t think we can rule out Eda completely, the hair could be lighter in colour because of lighting also there’s these screenshots from the first fragman:

These are definitely Eda and Serkan seems to be wearing the same coat. Also the hair in the top screenshot does look very similar to the one from the second fragman. The colouring of the background is also very similar so it is possible that this is actually Serkan being flirty with Eda and teasing her. They do like to play games with each other. It seems to be the same setting where he’s talking about punishments and wishes. I could see a scenario where they are playing some kind of game and Eda loses and so has to get a punishment. Maybe she says something like he could be more polite/ have more grace and he then replies with that statement that too much grace can make a relationship boring. My point is it might not seem as bad as it does at first glance.

So another thing we know is going to happen in this episode is there is going to be a party.

I can’t help but wonder what this party is for. It does seem like its a costume party which I feel like is going to be fun to watch. I am also pleased to see that Edser look pretty cozy at this party we are going to get another dance scene. But there is one shot that have people worried which is this one:

Where it looks like Serkan is looking over at Balca. To be honest I don’t think this is anything to worry about. To me Serkan doesn’t look like he’s looking at her with any romantic attraction if anything to me he looks a little irritated as does Eda. If you look at this screenshot:

In the far left corner you can see that Edser are dancing together and it looks like Balca is approaching them. I think Serkan is looking at her irritated because Balca interrupts their romantic dance. We also know that in Fragman 1 Balca makes a comment about how its illogical to try and change someone and Eda and Serkan look a bit taken aback/ annoyed. So I think by this point in the episode they mmight have been interrupted by Balca a few times or she might have made little comments through out the episode and they are just getting more irritated by it. But again this is just my interpretation of this scene.

As for what the party could be for I’ve got three theories.

1) It could be a welcome party/ goodbye party for Balca and Seline.

2) Erdem and Layla are pretending to be negaged and Serkan found out last episode so maybe he decides to have a engagement party organised for them. Or Erdem decides they’re not making Fifi jealous enough and so they have an engagement party. One thing that makes me doubt this theory is the fact that its clearly a costume party but then Erdem and Layla are unique so maybe they would have a costume party for their engagement. Part of the reason why I think it might be an engagement party for Layla and Erdem is because you can see them hugging in the background of the screenshot above and in another screenshot they are together dancing I think. Of course this isn’t absolute proof that its an engagement party but the thought did cross my mind.

3) It could also be someone’s birthday party. I can’t see anyone wearing a birthday badge or hairband but it’s still a possibility. We haven’t seen alot of birthdays yet, it could be Eda’s or Melo’s or maybe even Layla’s. We know Serkan doesn’t really like party’s but I feel like if it was one of those three’s birthday’s Serkan would show up.

Well that’s all I’ve got so far. I’m looking forward to the next episode. To be honest I’m not worried about Edser at all. It looks like we are going to get plenty of romantic moments between them. The dance at the party, the dinner together, the pottery scene I’m really looking forward to. It looks like we are going to get some cute bantering and teasing between them too.

Spiritual Log October 16, 2019

Subtitle: Various healing tones for pretty much anything

Hi everyone, how are you all again? I hope you're all doing great. But if you're having tummy issues like yours truly here, and your eating habit is still normal, it's possible that

1. You're a generator whose stomach was starting to clear up,

2. You're starting to undergo major energetic shifts, or

3. Both 1 and 2.

Either way, congratulations! You're well on your way towards healing and raising your consciousness and awareness levels. Don't let it get into your head though, these things aren't fun and believe me when I say that despite the magical stuff, I sometimes wish I was still dead asleep because I get more and more sensitive to so many stuff. Like the recent super-typhoon in Japan, like the name HAGIBIS in Tagalog literally means "super-duper ultra fast-moving and strong" and it has winds as strong as Haiyan, which we had here in the Philippines a while ago and that was strong AF, like I live somewhere in the north and the typhoon went to the southernmost part of the country but the strong winds were still very evident where I lived. The anxious vibes due to the strong typhoon went straight to my solar plexus and it just felt horrible, so I had to lay down for what feels like forever until the full moon popped up. (still sending Reiki to Japan and where I am right now because why not, every energetic movement counts)

Anyways, with that out of the way, let's move on to the topic on hand: Healing tones! I am super passionate about this stuff, I swear by it, as well as a whole bunch of other people in the rest of the world too. Even the early indigo children who are now probably in their 70s or even 80s had a go at it during the psychedelic era because hey, it was a freaking spiritual boom and so many methods got discovered. And now that the stuff's going mainsteam-ish, I would like to give my 2 cents on this topic.

Stuff I listen to: Binaural beats, isochronic tones, solfeggio tones, subliminals and boosters, singing bowls, tingsha bells, gongs, guided meditations, some singing chants (for Kundalini Yoga meditations)

How did this came about? Well, some years ago, during the early years of my awakening (which I used to call my darkest times, well, it was my first and major Dark Night of the Soul so yeah) I suffered from a really, really horrible backache, not only was the pain shootingly extreme but I also lost mobility from my waist all the way down to my feet. Like a power switch for my legs were turned off. So I couldn't stand, and it was very painful especially when sitting and squatting for releasing bodily fluids. I had to pee standing up, and because I couldn't squat, dumping the #2 was limited to twice a week. It was very horrible because as an anally-fixated person who HAS to do it daily, it sucked. Not that I can eat much though, I was sleeping most of the time due to painkillers so no time to eat. Of course, I tried my best to get up as much and walk and move just to rehab myself (I was pretty much a bum because I wasn't paid from the past work that I did so no moolah for rehab and physical therapy and it was DIY mode again) but the pain was very, very unbearable. If you know how it feels when you slit your wrists (trigger! Sorry!) or if you have your period cramps (gah!) well transfer those kinds of pains in your lower back all the way down your feet, then magnify the pain intensity to about 100x, then shut off your ability to walk, then any form of lower body movement just hurts. Best 6 months of my life, plus the annual flare-ups ever since. My only escape from the pain were my medications, which weren't OTC and were actually quite regulated. Unfortunately I had to be weaned from the drugs about 3 weeks in because of the cash issues and the fact that I was taking in a substance that was closely-related to morphine so yeah, you get my point.

I had to find some sort of alternative one way or another, because that's what happens when you're desparate as fudge. By synchronicity, I came across solfeggio tones as well as binaural beats for cellular regeneration and pain relief, respectively. I listened to those tracks nightly for a good 2 months straight just to get some sort of comfort, and I was able to walk properly and stand, even sit for a good 20 minutes per day since the 1st week that I started. Unfortunately I pushed my luck too much after getting cocky in the 2nd month of healing so I had to go back to taking drugs while also listening to the track. Me and my dumbass ego lol But anyway...

During the time, I also accidentally downloaded a lucid dreaming track though, and that got me really hooked with the sound healing thing. Because of that track, I started learning how to do wake-induced lucid dreaming (WILD), I got to walk a lot again, experience no pain, and became a bit more spiritual. Of course I was still unaware that I was awakening, and as usual I kept ignoring my intuit on starting a meditation practice so I was stuck in there for another 2 years or so. By the time I realized fully that I was, and had been awakening since I was 24 years of age, I was already full of effing regrets for not taking the call seriously, I wasted a very long time in my Dark Night 1.0 and was plunged into Version 2.0, which was a lot more gory and horrible, apart from the ramped-up anxiety with depression and the fun painful flareups every now and then.

Of course, now I know that the flareups were due to my extremely contracted lower chakras, especially the root chakra. If you're asking me why I thought the pain was metaphysical, well it's not exactly fun being in extreme pain while going to the orthopedic clinic, then getting expensive imaging modalities and getting UNREMARKABLE results. I just couldn't stand the fact that I was in extreme pain and the docs can't find anything. It sucked. That shit took me like a good 4 years before I was able to connect all the dots. It sucked but also it was my fault for not following my nagging thoughts on meditating. Now I regularly listen to any healing tone and meditate even for 11minutes a day, so now most of my pains and sometimes my depressive states get managed a bit better, but the empath part still sucks (though that's another topic altogether lol).

Ok, so what's the point in all of these?

Well, for starters, having these experiences made me realize better why everything was energy, I mean, soundwaves literally helped me heal my pain and my lower back, and as far as I know it was all due to resonance of frequencies. If I wasn't made up of energy I won't even experience any relief and comfort. It was, and still is an exciting thing for me because after a considerable number of years listening to various healing tones, I am still sane-ish, somewhat, in an insane world.

So if you're looking for non-invasive alternatives for healing, I highly recommend healing tones. You can purchase them or just go to video-hosting sites, but of course you have to also tailor-fit them to your needs. Like if you're having sleeping issues, start with a calming track, or if you're in pain try the binaural or isochronic tones for killing pain. You can even improve your subconscious beliefs, activate your DNA, or become even more attuned to subtle energies because some tracks have intent, energetic transmissions, as well as subliminal messages in them. I won't be posting about subliminals and boosters here though, that's another topic worth vomiting words for lolz but I will, probably sometime after this post.

Well, I hope this post had some value for you, even if it just entertained you lol. But really, I take healing quite seriously as well as personal development ever since I can remember, so if you feel like you need to amp up yourself, then please do. Your soul and the whole collective will definitely benefit from it, especially in these chaotic times. Us woke people must be healed fully so we can be better way-showers to others who are also starting to awaken, like seriously think about the time when we were waking up and we had zero clues about it. At the very least, we can help one person ease through it, somehow. Don't feel bad though, we were built to shovel the snow away from the roads so others can pass through, and I think that's a wonderful gift we can give. Plus it's free lolz.

Joe’s Weather World: A night to remember (WED-5/29)

The storms from Tuesday…hitting approximately the same areas that were hit back in 2003 were storms that will be remembered for years to come. Many were in their safe areas…and many in KC didn’t even see a drop of rain. So it goes with one supercell storm that organized down towards the Emporia/Osage City area southwest of KC and moved and strengthened towards Douglas County…eventually peaking near Linwood…before cycling (thankfully) and moving through Platte County and then re-organizing in eastern Clay and Ray counties with a new violent tornado near the Kearney and Excelsior Springs region.

So much happened in that 6 hours…and yet amazingly, at this point of the morning…nobody has lost their life at this point…despite the strongest tornado to hit the Metro perhaps in the last 15 years going back to 2003.

Forecast:

Today: Variable clouds and muggy with highs well into the 70s. Showers/storms possible towards the SE of KC especially this afternoon. Widespread severe weather is not expected but some storms could be strong towards Butler>Sedalia and the Lakes region

Tonight: Clearing skies and cooler with lows in the mid 50s

Thursday: Partly cloudy and and pleasant with highs in the 70s

Friday: Not too bad and a bit warmer with highs near 80°

Discussion:

Thanks for all the emails…tweets…and FB posts. Many of you watched the coverage, whether it be on FOX 4 or one of the other stations and I have no doubt that that coverage helped folks stay as safe as possible from the tornado that moved through.

What I’m curious about…as I still have 18 thoughts running through my head is why there weren’t even more tornadoes and supercells onn the south side…we’ll consider that lucky.

Some were injured…some lost their homes…but to see some of the damage last night and this morning and realize that nobody died (as of this morning at least) is truly a miracle.

Not to be lost in the shuffle is the more widespread flooding that is ongoing again in northern MO as some areas had 4-8″ of rain last night…obviously all just running off…there are so many roads closed in North MO.

Look at all that flooding…here are the doppler estimates for N MO…and you can see the track of the supercell that moved across N MO.

This massive tornado…potentially with winds near 140+ MPH ripped through some areas on the KS side before reorganizing NE of the Metro.

The NWS from Topeka and Pleasant Hill will be out rating the tornado damage and then assigning values to estimate the winds. They use a damage survey toolkit to look at the various areas of damage…assess the construction of the building before the damage occurred (this is a big issue in ratings) and then assign an EF rating. EF stands for Enhanced Fujita rating. Here is some additional information.

From all the damage indictors above…there are 8 different breakdowns per category…so 28 categories with 8 breakdowns per category.

That’s why it takes some time to get this all together…there usually is a preliminary idea then they refine the EF rating as more stuff is surveyed. Most of this information comes out later today.

It’s amazing and we saw this back in 2003…how far away debris was lofted into the air and transported “downstream”. Some debris was found almost 50 miles away.

After whatever happens this evening towards the SE of the Metro…that should do it for awhile.

There is a lot more to think about…but my brain is mush right now…so we’ll stop here.
