Dialtown is the most USA-core game I've ever played. It's so fucking American that it's scary, and I've lived there my entire life! Like, this feels fundamentally tied with the game's themes and narrative, that's how extreme it is. And it's not even alienating OR nationalist?? It makes such genuine commentary? And then there's so much other shit to think about too; Dialtown has a very real identity outside this that anyone could love?
One: I am VERY impressed that you have done the USA and its people this well. I am actually astounded, bewildered, and chuffed. I've never felt so seen by a video game, culturally-speaking. I didn't even know there was a culture to see.
Two: WHY did you do that. Dialtown is like USA Culture Absurdified: The Visual Novel. What drove you to make a game this rich with American culture and ideas???
Hello!
It would've been odd for an outsider (non American) who enjoys reading up on history to make my setting nationalist or alienating. America is a country with a lot of serious issues. You can't really study how America is (and has been) internally run without facing glaring and obvious systematic issues. DT's setting is one of scarcity and most of the main characters you follow in DT are kinda just scraping by without much hope for true mobility/advancement. A lot of Americans (especially younger generations) would agree this sorta encapsulates the national mood of the country right now.
Of course, the systems that run a country don't define its citizens - many of the finest people I've ever known are American and are victims of the whims of those with power, not willing participants in this system. I could be wrong, but that's why I think the setting connected with a lot of people. We all know Randys, Olivers + Karens, people who've fallen through the cracks in some way. To them, America's spirit of self-determination isn't about individual identity - it's more "you're on your own."
Why I chose to set DT in America would be a novel length answer in of itself, but it mainly came down to history + narrative opportunity. I wanted to set the game in the epicenter of where the phone-revolution came from and Crown likely couldn't have pulled his plan off anywhere else and probably not during any other time. It had to be 1960's America.
Of course, some parts of DT are sorta universal and were inspired by the the Great Recession and what followed. I remember there was an area not that far from my house that was full of green fields when I was born and when I was a kid (and when real estate boomed), stuff started being built there. Parts of it looked really nice, not quite like anything nearby. Like the future was coming. Then the economy crashed and stuff was left sitting there, half-built for like a decade. Skeletal, unfinished buildings. DT is much the same.
There's a feeling that the city could've been something better and while things could be more equal, it does feel like there are no easy solutions to fix everything - unless someone very smart and determined somehow bypassed every safeguard that was set up to halt radical change and enacted a genius plan to somehow eliminate scarcity. It happened once and might never again.
I don't think most people understand the intricacies of stuff like global commerce all that well (myself included), but when you're sitting looking at a half built neighbourhood mere hours after speaking to a friend who just kicked out of rented accommodation and doesn't have a stable family unit to fall back on, you'd have to be a real dolt not to understand that things aren't great right now. Most people are scraping by and feel if they could just get affordable housing locked down, if they had maybe one good opportunity - maybe there's hope that things could change for the better.
The end of DT isn't really utopian, things don't massively change for the better and indeed, the town has a lot of rebuilding to do. But, a collection of lonely people are now looking out for each other and through the relationships they have, now feel like they have a place in this world. That no matter how bad things really get - they aren't truly by themselves anymore. Most individuals don't have the means to significantly advance change on their own - but you can live your life, love those around you and support others and plan for when the opportunity to affect change comes about.
I guess that's what life is, in America or anywhere else. Sorry I rambled for so long. Hope this answered the question!

[Arcane preference] reacting to their s/o wearing mobility aids
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When I said I was prioritizing the illnesses I had, I didn’t expect the hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, but here we are. For those who don’t know what it is: it’s a genetic condition that affects the ligaments, making them longer and/or looser, which cause problems over time. In my case, it affects my legs, so I’ll write about those. As always, if you want to read more of my work, you can click on the coloured texts! here the Tumblr masterlist, and here are the first two chapters of Everytime it Rains.
socials: | INPRNT | | Tip Jar | | X | | BlueSky | | Ao3 |
Tumblr media
Jayce:
He’s well-versed in what to do and not do, being around two people with a similar condition (though he’ll never call it a "disease" out loud for fear of making anyone uncomfortable).
His help is as subtle as possible: he’ll grab your backpack, shoulder bag, or anything else you’re carrying to keep you from overexerting yourself.
During walks, he’s the one who’ll suddenly mention it’s getting cold, too hot, or that he just remembered something, as soon as he senses you’re getting tired, assuming your fatigue is worse than his.
The first time you said, “I’ll pass, my knees are about to bend” he didn’t realize they bent backwards, and when he saw what that actually meant, he went pale.
He felt guilty about his reaction for at least a week.
Viktor:
Tell him something he doesn’t know.
He’s the one who’ll comment, “Where’s your brace?” if he sees you with bare legs and no aid, maybe tapping your foot lightly with his cane to emphasize his disapproval.
On the bad days—when fatigue, cold, or any external factor makes both of your legs useless—you end up helping each other out, spending most of the time on the couch with pillows under his knees and your legs draped over his.
If you have to do something alone while he’s busy, he’ll ask Jayce to accompany you, ensuring you don’t overdo it without realizing.
Ekko:
Honestly, he couldn’t care less. I mean, it’s not a big problem for him
The first time he saw your knees bend weirdly and too much, he just said, “Ouch.”
Other than that, there are hoverboards! If your legs stop cooperating at some point in the day, he’ll just have you balance seated on the hoverboard, saying it’s a gentleman’s duty to escort such an attractive lad/lady around.
He doesn’t ask what you want or need; he just does it, whether it’s bringing you food or removing your knee brace to let your skin breathe.
If he’s going to be away from the house for a while, he leaves a few things ready for you, like water bottles, so you don’t have to strain yourself carrying them up the stairs on your own.
When he sees you’re worn out, he’ll ask if you want a massage, using some body butter to improve circulation, relieve stress, and keep your skin elastic.
Vander:
His first instinct would be to carry you, but since that’s sweet yet sometimes awkward, you both agree that at night ‘it’s a man’s right to carry his wife/husband to bed, disability or not’.
He doesn’t know exactly how to help, so aside from asking if you need anything—like grabbing your aids, bringing them to you, or helping you put them on—he won’t push, knowing you’ll ask for help if you need it.
If you need to go upstairs, he’ll always walk behind you so that if your knees give out, he can catch you and avoid disaster.
At least two rectangular pillows appear in every useful room so you can place them under your knees. The problem is that you forget about them most of the time, so they’re not much help—at least until he comes along, lifts your legs, and places them in a more comfortable position.
"My legs hurt."
"Oh no, I’m sorry, I’m afraid we’ll have to cut them off," he jokes with a mock-serious expression, bursting into laughter when you swat at him in response.
Silco (old man):
Some things you could do on your own but feel more intimate when done together. That’s why you often trot into his office with the fabric sleeve and brace in hand, handing them to him, and he gives you his shimmer syringe in return.
There’s no specific reason beyond the mental closeness and vulnerability of the act.
“Too tight?” will always be his question, even though he knows by now how to adjust it perfectly and doesn’t need to ask.
When you’re together, he’s the one to carefully remove it, stroking your leg while lost in thought.
He never sends anyone to assist you; instead, he asks if you think it would be better to have someone accompany you, making sure you reassure him if you insist you can manage alone.
Silco (Young Man):
Zaun isn’t exactly suitable for crutches or unsteady footing, so as soon as you let him know about your condition, he feels even more compelled to improve the city (or at the very least, smooth out the streets).
He’ll ask questions—few but direct—to understand what it is and how he should act.
If you drop something, he’ll be quick but subtle about picking it up and putting it somewhere easier for you to reach.
“Do you want to go home?” is the question he’ll ask you most often, even if it’s just with a look, despite you explaining multiple times that you’ll let him know if you can’t keep going.
But he knows you push yourself beyond your limits, so he worries.
At night, he’s made it a small ritual to massage your legs when you stretch them out in bed, and it actually helps relieve the tension.
Jinx:
“I can make you a mechanical one.”
When you explain what the condition is and that you don’t need a replacement leg but help for the ones you have, she starts carrying around a notebook, taking notes on the “flaws” of your aid to make you a custom version better suited to your daily life and body.
“I’ll do it!” is her go-to response for anything you need to do that she thinks takes too much effort. She doesn’t even ask; she just throws herself into it with so much enthusiasm it becomes amusing after a while.
You don’t have many intact knee braces or aids left, because according to her, they were “boring,” and she’s customized them—though they still work pretty well.
Even if she won’t admit it, she’s become even more protective of you. For example, if someone bumps into you in the street, she’s ready to jump to your defense immediately.
Vi:
She doesn’t really know how to react or respond because of how versatile the condition is. How does she figure out which days your legs won’t work and which ones they will? Or when they’ll start hurting before it’s too late?
You two agree on a small code: you tap her hand or shoulder three times rhythmically when you start to feel fatigued so that if you’re in public or with company, you don’t have to announce it to everyone if you don’t want to. She’ll immediately understand.
She’s a little scared of doing the wrong thing. She doesn’t know how to handle it and, even though she tries not to, she starts to perceive you as more fragile, moving with a fear of accidentally hurting you.
But she learns over time. She’ll simply ask more often if you need anything when she’s going to the kitchen or the store.
And when you’re cuddling, she’ll pull your legs onto hers.
Caitlyn:
She asks you to explain the condition to her—what you can and can’t do and how she can help.
She’s the ultimate advocate for your aid.
If you skip wearing it one morning because you don’t feel like it or the pain hasn’t started yet, you can bet she’ll notice and say something.
Sure, it can be a bit annoying, but considering it’s a degenerative condition, you know she’s right, so you can’t really get mad at her.
If you’re just not in the mood, she’ll put it on for you herself, with such care that you start to wonder if there’s an instruction manual she got that you didn’t.
Beyond that, she’s not overbearing. She trusts that you’ll communicate when you don’t feel like doing something, and she doesn’t presume to know your limits better than you do.
Mel:
It’s not too much of a problem, considering most of your activities together don’t involve much walking or moving due to her work.
That doesn’t stop her from taking an interest, though. At least once a week, she’ll ask you how your legs are
If they hurt, if you need different support or more comfortable shoes, or if you just need a footrest or a cushion—she’s ready and ensures everything you might need is on hand. If she can’t get it herself, she’ll send someone.
During dinners, she privately asks whoever is in charge of arranging things to provide you with a footrest and an extra cushion on your chair. If you tell her it’s unnecessary, her response will be, “Can’t I spoil my partner a little?”
She knows you’ll let her know if you’re having issues, but she takes all the necessary precautions to ensure no problems arise in the first place.
Sevika:
Again, tell her something she doesn’t know.
The difference between your legs and her arm—besides the fact that yours are still intact—is that they require less messy and time-consuming maintenance than hers. So not only does she not mind helping, but she hardly even notices.
She won’t ask if you need anything unless you say so or show explicit signs of struggling. It’s a deliberate choice to avoid making you feel like she thinks you’re not independent or capable.
On the couch or in bed, she’ll have you rest your legs on hers and prop you up with cushions behind your back, making sure you’re fully supported.

————
You were screwed right from the beginning.
The way everyone acted was so.. strange. But of course, you didn’t think anything of it because you ultimately assumed it was just their quirky personalities. You weren’t taught to make fun of anyone, which was hard knowing that everyone else had the privilege of making fun of you. You just couldn’t do anything back.
You sighed, swallowing your saliva that had built up while you stared at the room’s ceiling. You knew you weren’t a good fit for the job, you knew almost nothing about space.
You felt yourself start to sweat, causing you to lean down, bending your knees as you practically press your face into the small bag you’ve brought with you on this journey. You start fumbling with the bag, searching for the one thing you've ended up forgetting to bring. Deodorant.
“Shit..” You groan weakly, mentally smacking yourself in the face. How did you forget to bring something that important? You sit down crisscrossed on the hard floor beneath you, not prepared to ask anyone for help with your small issue. You had two choices; end up stinking for the rest of the journey, or work up the courage to ask someone else on board for deodorant.
You decided to go with the second option. You really didn’t want to make an impression as someone who’s stupid enough to forget about simple hygiene, but staying stinky would’ve been even worse. You stood up and walked towards your single room’s door, knowing who to go to. Anya. She was the only other female on the whole space freighter. If you went to any of the men, they probably would’ve laughed in your face for how stupid you were acting.
You briefly talked to Anya as you boarded this morning, but you didn’t think you would have to ask her for anything. But she seemed nice enough. You worked up the courage as you walked around, making sure to stay out of anyone’s sight.
You swallowed your saliva once again, weakly knocking on the woman’s door. You didn’t even know if she was in her room or not. You waited a few seconds before you heard a small, “Come in!” from the other side. You could’ve just ran back to your room and locked yourself inside, but you decided to be brave for once and open the door.
“Anya?” You let the door swing open before stepping inside, taking a look at her bedroom. It wasn’t too dirty, but definitely wasn’t neat either. You shrugged it off and glanced in her direction, fidgeting with your fingers while doing so.
She turned towards you, her eye bags clear as day. ‘Maybe she didn’t get a lot of sleep last night..’ In all honesty, you didn’t get much rest either. You were fearing for your life while attempting to pack your bag. She tilted her head, waiting for your question.
“Do you have any deodorant I can borrow?” You whispered, not wanting anyone to overhear your conversation. This was already embarrassing enough, you didn’t need anyone else knowing. She slightly nods, giving you a soft smile as she turned towards her bag and opening the front pocket, taking out a travel-sized bottle of jel deodorant. “You can just keep it, I brought more.” She states.
She turned back towards you and held out her arm, deodorant in hand. In your eyes held a small a glimpse of hope as you took it out of her hand, quickly thanking her before speed walking back to your own room. Shutting the door, you took the cap off the jelly substance and let it roll underneath your arms. You sighed happily, grateful someone was kind enough to lend you a hand.
————
You sit up against the headboard of your bed, staring into space once again. You couldn’t sleep and you were already bored, seeing as all you had to keep you occupied was the job and sleep.
You didn’t really see an effort to make any friends, especially with that Jimmy guy. He seemed stressed out and you didn’t want to make him angry. The captain barely spoke to anyone, which was understandable, so you haven’t see him very often.
Anya seems nice enough, though. She gave you gentle smiles as she passed by you today. You really need to talk to her more. Attempting to talk to Swansea was.. challenging to say the least. He always has that weird expression on his face, which scares you in a way. But you still said your greetings as you made your way to the kitchen to make yourself a drink earlier that day.
There was another guy right beside him, too. Daisuke, his name is. He gave you a quick wave before turning back to his boss. You bite your bottom lip, shifting your body to let your head lay against the softness of your pillow and your body rest against the sheets.
You didn’t even know if the sheets were clean, but you were grateful you even got your own bed. Let alone your own room. You lean over and grab the thin tan blanket before covering your body in attempt to shield yourself from the cold. You peak at the digital clock on the bedside table, checking the time.
1:32am
Really..? Your eyes widen a bit in disbelief before you immediately shut your eyes, tussling with the blanket as you try to get into a comfortable position. How dumb could you be to fall asleep this late at night? You need to be up by 6:30.
You snuggled against the sheets, ignoring the pain in your chest. Your face muscles relax as you drift off to sleep, eventually taking you from reality. You felt calm for the first time in a while.. it’s sad it didn’t last very long, though.
You almost scream as you get woken up by a loud bang on your door. You gasp as you sit up right, your hand gripping your chest. Small drips of sweat form from your forehead as you turn your head to the door. “Y/N? Time for breakfast!” Daisuke’s voice echoed from the other side.
Hearing him call for you made a chuckle escape your throat as you rub the sleep away from your eyes. You groan softly, quickly standing up and getting changed into your uniform. It was a bit loose, but you didn’t mind it much. You look in the small mirror on the wall beside the door, making sure you looked at least a little presentable before walking out.
You opened the door and made your way towards where everyone else sat, a soft expression filling your face after only a few steps out of your room. You didn’t know your way around yet, but you ended up in the right path in just a few minutes.
You walked in the room seeing Anya, Swansea, and Daisuke sitting at the lounge table, bowls filled with cereal. You stepped up to them, giving them a short-lived wave before sitting down beside the black haired woman. Swansea looked towards you and started speaking.
“So, how’d your first night go in that godforsaken bed?” He grumbles softly, taking a bite of his breakfast. The brunette haired male seated beside him suddenly pouted, turning his head to look at the older man. “You didn’t ask me that..” He whispered before getting kicked from underneath the table. “Yeah, well, I didn’t care.” Swansea retorted.
You raise a brow but decide not to question it. “I think it went alright. The blanket is a bit thin and the bed feels like it’s made of rocks, but I’ll manage.” You give a not-so-confident nod, taking the cereal box out of Anya’s hands as she held it towards you. Swansea gives you an understanding shrug before going back to his food.
You turned your attention to Daisuke, asking him the same question Swansea asked you. “What about you? Did you sleep well?” You shook the box, pouring the cereal into your bowl. You were informed that the only new recruits in the Tulpar was just you and Daisuke, so you didn’t need to ask Anya or Swansea.
Daisuke looked up from his own dish, his words coming out muffled as he chewed on his cereal. You let your lips curve upwards into a smile as your head nods along, attempting to understand his words. You grabbed the milk and poured it into your breakfast, staring at it in satisfaction as the cereal soaked the white liquid up.
You couldn’t help but feel a pair of eyes watching you all from across the room. Naturally, you turned your head to see the dark haired brunette who frowned as he stared directly at you. ‘Jimmy.’ You gulped down your cereal before giving him a smile, attempting to be friendly.
Although you tried to be sympathetic, the expression on his face didn’t change. His arms remained by his sides as he walked towards the four of you. You avoided eye contact, feeling too awkward to continue staring. You go back to eating, careful not to slurp the milk that laid on the spoon.
‘Could’ve been worse..’ You thought, grateful that you weren’t stupid enough to actually call out to the man and say hello. It was obvious he wasn’t in the mood, and you could tell by his facial expression.
“When did everyone wake up?” He asks, breaking the unbearable silence. Swansea raised a brow as everyone turned their head to look up at Jimmy. “Why does it matter? We’re up and ready.” He ignores the question, taking another bite of his breakfast.
You look between the two males, confused why it seems like an argument is about to break out between them. You lift your head up and watch Jimmy’s brows furrow. Anya watches carefully, eyeing him with a fearful gaze. Daisuke continues eating, almost like he was enjoying this.
“You were supposed to be up at 6:30. Anya, what time is it now?” You turn your attention over towards the black haired female, wondering what time it was as well. You thought that Daisuke had woken you up around the time everyone was supposed to be awake at, but you guess you were wrong.
Anya adverts her eyes to the clock that sat on the wall of the kitchen before sighing and turning her head back towards Jimmy. “7:12.” She replied, her voice quiet. It seemed like she was afraid of something, but you didn’t know what. Jimmy nodded before slamming his left hand down onto the table, causing the box of cereal to get knocked over.
You flinch, not understanding why the man was so upset with you all getting up a few minutes after you were supposed to. It didn’t make sense. “That’s right. That means you four got up after the time you were expected to be awake and ready.” Swansea opened his mouth to speak, but you cut him off.
“It’s not a big deal. Don’t be so upset over us getting up a few minutes after 6:30. I’m pretty sure i was woken up at 6:35!” You argue back, not wanting this to escalate into anything it doesn’t need to be. Jimmy stared down at you like he wanted to kill, making you back off in fear of getting yelled at.
You glanced at Daisuke, wondering if he could help the argument calm down. You were lucky enough to catch his eye. He seemed to know what you were thinking because when he looked up at Jimmy and spoke, his voice was calm.
“You don’t need to get mad at us for a little mistake. Besides, it’s the first day! Chill out, man.” Although Jimmy was clearly upset by his words, Daisuke didn’t back down like you did. You gave him a smile, your eyes filled with gratitude.
He felt your gaze linger on his face, making him turn his head towards you. He gave you a soft smile, appreciative that you’re grateful for his backup.
Maybe this place won’t be as bad as you thought.. as long as you have them around, anyway.

thinking about spencer reid who has had a crush on the pretty BAU agent at the desk across from him ever since she started. she has been so swamped with work and paperwork and life recently and spencer notices the small changes in her behaviors because he notices every little thing about her. he sees the tighter grip she holds on her pens, making the ink bleed through the paper just slightly. he notices the way she starts to slam her coffee cup on the desk as opposed to gently sitting it down. he notices the heavy uptick of the amount of cups she’s having.
and it’s worse when they’re given a case. naturally, since they get along so well and since they’re probably the two smartest people in the world, hotch pairs spencer and his crush up throughout their time in phoenix, arizona. spencer sees the way she’s always cracking her knuckles and rubbing at the small of her back. he hear the tone in which she talks to the officers.
so, when they’ve finally caught their unsub just 6 days later, spencer makes sure to pick up her case files before she can even make it from her hotel room. he tucks them neatly under him as he sits down on the jet, carefully hiding them from her. he holds them hostage, knowing if she doesn’t see them, she won’t worry about them. out of sight, out of mind, as they say. she falls asleep quickly in the seat across from spencer. he can’t help but ogle at her beautiful sleeping form, knowing she really needs the rest.
and, once they returned to the musty bullpen that belongs to the BAU, spencer stays with her. he watches as she starts the paperwork he’d sneakily put on her desk, not letting her catch on to the fact that he’d taken it. he tries his best to focus on his own work, but the way she keeps groaning as she rolls her head back has him completely distracted. he’s barely three pages in when hotch emerges from his office, bidding both of them a goodbye and complimenting their work on the case
that just leaves spencer and the pretty agent across from him in the space.
time moves slower now, spencer thinks, which makes it even more agonizing to listen to her try to work out her over-exhausted muscles by herself. he can’t help himself as he breaks the comfortable silence that had been established.
“hey, y/n,” he inquires, knowing she probably doesn’t want to be disturbed right now. his suspicions prove to be true when she doesn’t look up, letting out a less than enthusiastic “hm?”.
“do you know the benefits of getting a massage?” this piques her interest, wondering where spencer was going to take this. sure, the recent stress in her life had her muscles aching at every hour of the day, but she didn’t think anyone had picked up on it. “i know the basics, spence.” she giggles, finally looking over at him.
he can’t dwell on the fact that this is the first time she’s smiled in about two weeks because his brain starts moving too fast for his mouth to keep up, “yeah, most people know they helps with muscle aches but they actually have a lot of benefits. massages help improve circulation and joint mobility. there’s also research that connects them to cosmetic effects, like improved and more even skin tones.”
he doesn’t expect her to still be paying attention to him, but he’s pleasantly surprised at the small smile spreading across her face. “hm, that sounds amazing. if only i wasn’t trapped here doing paperwork at almost three in the morning.” she answers sarcastically, turning back to her work. “i could give you a massage.” spencer stumbles out.
her cheeks start to heat up as she makes eye contact with him, wondering where he would take this. “i mean,” he backtracks, “i’ve read books on how to do shoulder and back massages. my eidetic memory means i could probably do an almost perfect one, if you’re interested. i’ve noticed the way you’ve been struggling with muscle aches.”
her face feels like it’s on fire with the way he’s making her blush. “um, sure, spencer, if you don’t mind.” she stutters and stumbles as she tries to accept his offer. he excitedly pushes himself of his hair, pulling up a closer one behind her.
his large hands start to knead at the knots at the base of her neck. he can feel the tension she’s built up over the past couple of weeks and tries to recall the techniques he’d read about so long ago.
this quickly becomes a challenging feat, as he moves his hands along the expanse of her back. she lets out light moans when he massages a particularly tight part of her muscle. the moans and grunts she’s making are going right to spencer’s cock. he’s so glad he’s behind her, because the tent in his pants continues to grow as he reaches the base of her back, where most of her pain had been.
her light moans have now increased in volume, and spencer is sure he should stop. he was not expecting to have this reaction from her, or react this way to her. his mind is cloudy and beginning to fill with filthy images that match the sounds she’s making now.
and god, he should stop. he knows he should pull his hands away from her, especially as he feels his stomach tighten and his dick throb in his pants. but he can’t. he needs to reach his release so bad, so he presses his fingers harder into her back, listening to the joyful sounds she’s letting out.
he doesn’t pull his hands away until he finally cums in his pants, too embarrassed to keep going. “thank you, spence. i feel a lot better. a lot less tense now.” she thanks him as he turns away from her, pushing in the chair he’d pulled over. he makes a few exclamations, saying it was no problem at all, before dashing off to the bathroom to try and get himself cleaned up.

the pushback against the discord mobile update shouldn’t be based upon “if you can get used to it” or not. some people might like it. some people might get used to it faster. but a lot of people won’t. and the point of the pushback is that discord keeps thinking they can change this shit and get away with it.
nobody asked for discord to change its color to a brighter blue. remember that? we all got used to it. but that was one of the first instances of the userbase just tolerating a useless change.
later came the dreaded username change. nobody asked for that. in fact, it caused a fuck ton of trouble. remember the markipkier username situation? yeah. but we all just “got used to it.” i don’t hear anyone talking about it anymore. we moved on, even though it really fucking sucked.
now it’s a complete overhaul of the mobile app that removed pretty much everything people liked about discord in the first place. removing the right swipe to see members and pins just made everything clunky and slow. the swipe to reply they replaced it with doesn’t even work all the time. the nice and cozy gray is now colder and darker, which would be fine, but there’s literally a midnight mode that they just released out of beta after 7 years. (edit: i actually used the app for a little more and realized just how fucking hard it was to read anything with the new contrast. it's a genuine accessibility issue. jesus)
they removed the community. want to see which friends are online? fuck you! click the top of the channel that is much slower and cumbersome than just swiping! want to see the funny and/or important messages you pinned? too bad, because we’re cutting off longer messages and hiding links/images that were attached to the message. and also, you can’t see who sent the message in a dm or group chat. also^2, you have to click into the channel and click into ANOTHER tab to even access the pins. fuck you.
regardless of if you like the changes or not, the point of protesting isn’t due to personal preference. it’s that discord keeps thinking they can change this shit that nobody wanted and get away with it. staying complacent will just let them know they can roll out changes and their userbase will still stick around, even if they hate it. which is not true. because users (including my friends and i) and even NITRO USERS are considering jumping ship to alternatives that don’t hate its userbase.
don’t let discord think it’s invincible. send feedback (go to settings and appearance, and there will be a button), even if it’s likely they won’t read it. review them in the app store. if there’s enough genuine feedback that outlines the faults and focuses on the performance and usability of the app, there’s a chance they might change Some things. because we don’t WANT to move and leave all our friends and communities, but a lot of us will have to if the situation gets worse.
the best case scenario is that they let us choose the format we want, but considering that this is discord we’re talking about, i don’t think it will. the least we can do now is to make sure at least some things get changed back for accessibility and convenience.

Pick a Card: Winter Blessings On Their Way to You
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hey y'all, welcome back for another pick a card reading. This pac's gonna be about any general blessings you'll receive over the next few months. For those who celebrate holidays, this may tie in to how you will be faring this season, but for any one reading, this will be a positive overview of what you may be gifted with over winter.
I've decided to go with images from pixabay as having the selection at the top seems to be the more mobile-friendly option. Choose any one of the four images above or pile numbers below:
Pile 1 - Frost ❄ Pile 2 - Gift 🎁 Pile 3 - Tree 🎄 Pile 4 - Orange 🍊
Tumblr media
Pile 1 - Frost ❄
Tumblr media
2 of Cups, King of Swords; Moon in Pisces - Empathy, A New Day, Land:Animal:Star, Mine (Earth, Jupiter)
Hey there, pile 1. Your gift will soon come in the form of experiencing deepened social connections this season. You will receive guidance and understanding regarding a close relationship you already have in your life. There may be a form of reconciliation or forgiveness given to you for any miscommunication or mistake in the past. I'm hearing that it's mainly the lack of communication for this pile where things can be resolved over the winter. Someone may have taken their time in reaching back to you for one reason or another but will be more available in the next three months.
This person could be an air sign dominant (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius), a person connected to education in some way, or a decisive, intellectual person in general. They may be a great conversationalist who is knowledgeable on topics that are relevant to you; talking to them may feel stimulating. One thing that I'm picking up is that, though this person may put on an air of maturity and wisdom, it's important to note that they are human and have to learn important lessons about relationships like everyone else. They're going through a humbling period of realizing that they do not connect to others as much as they would like to, which may trigger them to contact you to open back up. If they do, it's because they have some level of trust in you even if things have been sour in the past. I'm not detecting anything bitter or deceitful about this communication, but they may be in a remorseful state anyway as they may be undergoing a shadow work process of looking at themselves from a higher perspective and realigning with their true visions. It's up to you if their remorse is genuine or misplaced; if it's genuine and you care for them, then they could use a little reassurance that they can still be a good friend. If it's misplaced, that is to say you don't think they really did anything wrong, make sure to let them know that you forgive them and you care for them. If this is a toxic situation, you may decide to not let this person back into your life despite how they feel, which may prove for some to be the best choice, but in any case there will be a sense of resolution, fairness, and peace of mind. It will be different for everybody.
There is a possibility that, if this resonates with you personally more than it does with anyone else in your life, then part of your gift is getting a chance at a do-over with a close friend, colleague, or partner of yours, and you may be on the verge of adding more extroversion in your life by doing more enjoyable social activities. Another take with this pile is that, if you're involved in school, there could be a special message you receive from the school. If you're trying to apply for something or resolve an issue, someone who is of expertise in that area will reach out over the next few months. If you've been doubtful about a relationship, this season will help you gain more clarity about the next steps to pave. This holiday is looking to be cozy and centered on sharing it with those you care about, including pets.
P.S. From Santa: if you feel tempted to wake up around midnight to peek under the tree, don't! Try to avoid catching glimpses or begging to know what you're getting. Someone may have left a surprise for you to check in the morning, and they wanna see your face light up with what you got.

Pile 2 - Gift 🎁
Tumblr media
9 of Cups, Queen of Cups; Jupiter in Cancer - Speculation, Candle Magic, Land:Mountain:Moon, Grace (Water, Neptune)
Hello, pile 2, I see your biggest gift is gonna be like a spa day away from all the hustle and bustle. I sense it's long overdue here! This winter season is gonna be all about catching up on some much needed R&R and sleep. This is definitely the pile for those who relate to being the "parent friend" of their social group, or of generally being the busy supportive person in others' lives, who are getting the impulse to retreat inside for hibernation. With all the usual chaos of the holiday season, I don't blame you for wanting some tranquility. You may identify with being empathic or highly sensitive to noisy or crowded output. In spite of a tendency towards introversion, I see this is a group that really likes to stay productive and creative, but it looks like taking time away will restore a lot of creative flow back in to what you do. There's an abundance of water in your cards, suggesting a need for cleansing and adaptability. You may find it easier to take time off in spurts rather than a long period away, but it's up to what you feel is more necessary. This isn't just regular spa day in the sense of literal cleansing, though you may feel more inclined to take long warm baths and clean out drawers of old unwanted clothes over the next few months. This is also about emotional healing, taking time to process old feelings and reflect over the past year. There is a need for comfort in between, I'm feeling plush robes and tasting marshmallow rich hot cocoa by the fire here. Tap into your more sensual and receptive side, allow yourself to do a hobby in bed for a day if it's easier than doing it at the desk.
This is also a season for receiving some nice things you've been really wishing for, but be sure to express your desires! The gifts you get may be really satisfying for you, but you will need to own up to what you want and avoid being too bashful. If there's something you're eyeing on this holiday season, make a note to write it down or add it to a wishlist. If you get involved with an exchange program, you can be honest with what you like while also being reasonable. Also, I want to remind you that there's nothing wrong with getting yourself a few gifts if you're really more comfortable with getting them for yourself. It's better than waiting and hoping for someone to get you a cool thing you're too shy to ask for only to not get it. Set an intention and inform others out loud, instead of getting caught in mixed signals, because you deserve to get many good things this winter! If you have any time off you've been meaning to take, I would find some time in the winter to schedule a "nothing" day with no busy plans or to-do lists, so you can prioritize self care.
I'm getting that many of you will want to stay home for vacation, or that you'll want to be at home more often, in your safe zone. Even though many of you will focus more on relaxing, some of you may get the urge to decorate in a way that speaks to you. There may be some creative inspiration in the form of making something that fits the season like weaving frosty wreaths or crocheting cozy sweaters. An aesthetic could be drawing your eye, which is confirmation that your creative juices are flowing again. Gently express yourself in art when it calls you, without feeling pressured to finish or mass-produce anything. Create in a carefree way that inspires and heals you.
P.S. From Santa: A single lantern in the dark is as profound as a thousand dazzling lights in the streets. Try not to overburden yourself with the perfect set up of decorations this holiday season. Even when preparing the house, it's the thought that counts.
Tumblr media
Pile 3 - Tree 🎄
Tumblr media
0 Fool, XIX Sun; Venus in Leo - Affair, Go Your Own Way, Sky:Rainbow:Star, Tear (Air, Gemini)
Wow, pile 3, right off the bat I have to say I'm almost jaw-dropped at how bright and festive your pile is! This is definitely the group that loves the holidays the most, if that doesn't resonate with you then you may find another group more relatable, or it could be that you're more in the mood for holiday occasions than usual. The joy in these cards is palpable and near infectious, it's giving even some of my grinchy mannerisms a second glance. So yes, I would say this is your biggest gift over the winter season. You may be smiling for many reasons, maybe even crying with joy with the Tear card here, and I see the biggest reason is in where you'll be and who you'll be with.
You will have opportunities to venture out and explore new things to do. You could be invited to a festive lights display, or a fireworks show around the New Year. There could be a concert over the winter, or a new date could talk you into trying ice skating at the local rink. Some of you may be tempted to actually go to NYC for New Years, and if so, good luck! Please stay warm and hydrated, the ball dropping and singing carols through your town are a major endurance test in the cold if you decide to go to any of those. But if the idea of doing something like that simply lights you up like a festive tree, you may be more tempted to go for it this season. Many things in your cards talk about direction and forging your own path, so part of your gift may involve feeling a bit more independence and expansion. When we travel and visit new places, our self learns to grow and expand to meet it over time. It's nerve wracking because we're not used to it, but eventually we adjust and learn to adapt. I see that happening for you more these next few months. I would advise this pile to try going out and trying a few different and interesting things, for those who don't want to jump in the cold, there are online communities waiting for you to join. Some social media groups, for example, have a Secret Santa type of thing set up that you could sign up for, or a Discord chat could be hosting movie nights that you've considered joining. This is your confirmation to give it a go!
Tears of joy may also have to do with gifts you're given this year. There may have been something left on your wishlist for a while and this season you may actually receive it. You could also be given something that just "fits the ticket", like it may not have even been on your wishlist or even what you could think to wish for, but somehow you get it anyway. The gift may come at a convenient time. It may be something related to your life purpose even? Or it may help you with your life path and future goals. You may enjoy gift exchanges with a dear loved one, as seeing their reaction of pure joy may turn out to be a present for you too. Happy holidays, pile 3!
P.S. From Santa: The sleigh flies like the sun and moon in the sky, spreading cheer in all directions. Happiness can be found where you are, and it can also be outside your comfort zone. Look at what surrounds you for the true presents in store.
Tumblr media
Pile 4 - Orange 🍊
Tumblr media
VIII Strength, 3 of Pentacles, Saturn in Gemini - Concentration, Celebrate Your Wins, Water:Spring:Moon, Sunflower (Earth, Venus)
Surprise, pile 4, you have actually chosen the same pile that I chose when doing this reading. The significance of mentioning this is that I just passed a difficult test that took forever to figure out. And I originally laid out these cards, called it my 'Orange' pile, and chose this group the night before the test, knowing this was predicting some kind of win but waiting until after to confirm it here. And boy did they confirm! So your major blessing on your way is that you will succeed in a goal that you've been working very hard on for a good period of time. What was once a challenge can become a success here. For many of you this will have been in something that has required a lot of work and dedication. Passing this won't necessarily be effortless, but it will be easier than the last time. You will still need to put in some effort to make it work, but this pile has more than certainly put their dues in by now, even if things aren't perfect. After spending a good amount of time learning and tracing all the steps, you've developed the fortitude and strength to push through to the finish line. And getting to that line will feel like the joy of a kid waking up on Christmas morning to a mountain of gifts. If you struggle with the sense of feeling accomplished, this is the time to reward yourself.
I see for most in this group, this accomplish is related to something in the material or external realm. So it could be passing an important test, getting a portfolio approved in review, or a burst of health after a long period of stress. There's an energy of blooming here, with the Sunflower card atop the daisies in the Strength card and the crocus. These flowers, together, signify not only growth, but a sense of rebirth and regeneration. The crocus appears in the spring and fall, while the daisy blooms from spring to summer. So this is spiritual and physical healing. Even sunflowers can last until mid autumn. So this is a long-lasting rejuvenation, or an accomplishment with long term benefits. It will be a big confidence boost that may spur a positive feedback loop in future goals. Take pride in yourself!
You've probably succeeded far past where you think yourself to be. There's no need here to be hard on yourself, even if the victory doesn't come in the shape you expect it would. Treat your past year's self with kindness, as not all progress is visible to the naked eye. Achievements of the soul aren't always notified like in Xbox, or given a certificate or medal to hang on the wall. Maybe it could even be hard to write down exactly what went right this year, but have trust that you've grown so much in these past twelve months and that the next season will be like a domino effect showing you how far you've come! The 3 of Pentacles is Capricorn energy, so you may start to see this after the holidays have passed, but know either way that your first step is just the first step in a long road to victory! I'm sending congratulations to y'all, pile 4, and patting your inner lion on the back because I know you have it in you to succeed in your trials no matter how long it takes. You have transformed in time for the new year!
P.S From Santa: Be ready to catch falling stars as you wish upon them, the seed least unexpected can bloom even in the coldest time of year. Staying on the Nice list will come with its many rewards.

Tumblr media
@hhbluedynamite I’m going to make separate post here to address this. Tumblr mobile is a pain and I can’t add all picture examples I want to it here goes.
This has been a debate ever since My Hero came out,
“Why are All Mights eyes black?”
There’s been multiple explanations from how his borrowed quirk works to simply his own emaciated state. I’ve come up with my own theory. It’s said the eyes are the windows to the soul. I believe All Might’s eyes grow darker the more “weight” he carries.
For example,
When All Might was a kid, his eyes were normal. White. After losing his family, rendering him an orphan, white. Even after losing Nana, still he looked normal.
Tumblr media
And after first releasing to the public.
Tumblr media
This is because although he’d already been thru hell and back emotionally, he’s still normal. Even with his quirk.
Then, after he’d been in the game a while, they suddenly darkened.
Tumblr media
Why?
Because by that time, the full gravity of his position, his responsibility and the realization he was essentially alone in that place, had fully sunk in.
Because he was so over powered above everyone else, everyone including the heroes left him to take care of almost everything they felt was too hard. And because he’s a selfless person at heart without a care to his own safety, he willingly allowed it to happen without asking for help. He didn’t want to risk losing anyone else. Which is also why he didn’t take on any sidekicks.
Until Nighteye.
Tumblr media
Vigilantes showed us Toshinori when he wasn’t being All Might. And his eyes turn back into white in his more relaxed form, albeit with tired lines beneath them. However this is when he had Nighteye to count on. And Nighteye can see the future, so perhaps he would be safe, right? Well we know what happened there.
After he and Nighteye break up go their separate ways, we never see Toshinori with white eyes again. (Unless I’m forgetting so please tell me if I am). Now he’s injured, only a handful of people to trust, and none can truly understand what he’s going through. At this time he truly is alone, and the one thing that gives him joy is slowly but surely being fizzled out within him.
All Might’s eyes continued to remain black for years. Even after giving his quirk to Izuku. He still felt the weight of the world on his shoulders because he feared for Izuku’s safety. Blamed himself for every scar and Injury the boy suffered thru. Even though he was retired, nothing had changed. In fact it was worse now, because he could do nothing to help anymore.
And then he gains support items to face AFO for the last time. He’s a distraction, a willing sacrifice to slow the monster down, and he couldn’t be happier. We see the whites of his for the first time. All through the fight we see them, shaded albeit, but they’re there.
Tumblr media
When he speaks to Nighteye asking if this isn’t the place he was meant to die, Nighteye confirms that it is. The fact that he’s still alive makes him raise the question, why is he still here then? I’m the mentor, Izuku is a ready and worthy apprentice. He doesn’t need me anymore. I’m supposed to be dead by now. His eyes seem darker here, as if the weight and his own depression have increased again. Perhaps begrudgingly accepting his fate.
But then here after Nighteye tells him he reads too many comic books, and that there’s no way he would go out that way, we get a closer look. Although his eyes are still shrouded in black because of his emaciated state. His eyes themselves are clearer, brighter. Even if Nighteye is only in his head, his words are still bringing him hope deep down.
Tumblr media
While being tended to medically, his eyes are dark again, though I believe this is mainly due to him barely being alive and conscious at this point. And they’re still white, more than we’re used to seeing.
Tumblr media
Finally after the war while they’re recovering, his eyes remain white, though they’re still shaded. The weight is still present. His work isn’t done yet. Izuku is losing his quirk, and he still feels like a failure in some sense because of that. Also because he and Bakugo almost died. And because of everyone who did die in the war all because he failed to stop AFO after three tries.
Tumblr media
People who weren’t qualified to be heroes were even involved in this battle. And he thinks it unfair to hold such high standards when there are people who can still help, even if not at the extreme levels of the top heroes. He and Deku are proof of that!
In the last chapter several years later, we finally see Old Man Might! And his eyes-they’re so bright. ❤️
Tumblr media
Of course they’ll always have a little shadow to them because of his sunken in appearance, but the tired lines under his eyes are gone. There’s not the black bags from pushing himself too hard, just the normal wrinkles that come with age.
This is Toshinori that’s been missing for decades. The man whose impossible weight has finally been lifted off his shoulders. He knows he can finally relax, he doesn’t have to be on alert or on call anymore. The world is safe without him.
He even found a way for Izuku to keep up his hero work with a suit similar to his own during the war (though most definitely suped up).
Finally, he can be at peace. His body, soul, and mind can finally begin to heal. He can work through all of the trauma he’s been stuffing down all of his life.
Finally, he can live.

In the Blue Hours of the Morning: Chapter 1 - Compete Against the Stars
Summary: You're in your final semester at Piltover’s University, and in your endeavors to revise one of your final papers, you meet Professor Heimerdinger's assistant. He’s quick. Intelligent. And surprisingly charismatic. A last minute friendship forms as you ask for his help to have the best chance to graduate on time and become a scientist yourself. Things are looking up for your studies…Until your stress mixes with some unpredictable feelings.
Story tags/warnings: pre-season 1, no use of y/n or real world language, strangers to friends to lovers, fluffy, acts of service as viktors love language, academic weapon reader, viktor pov chapters, sky pov chapter, eventual nsfw. unrequited love towards sky :( random oc created for the sole purpose of being a side character. not a song fic, chapters names are just inspired by song lyrics. the only thing viktors insecure about is him being an assistant, he knows he’s fine.
Word Count (Chapter 1): 2.3k
Chapter 1 of 21
Read on AO3
━◦○◦━◦○◦━◦○◦━◦○◦━◦○◦━◦○◦━
Four years. Four years of university were almost over. And yet there wasn’t time or room to slack off, especially not now. You needed to turn in final projects, write essays, and take your final exam. Not take it… Ace it. Demolish it.
Every day was almost always the same. You woke up, dressed yourself, and adjusted your vest with its two pairs of diamonds, and headed to class. No matter how tired you were, you had one goal in mind: success.
And damn, you were getting there.
You were among the top three students in your class, always shifting between number one, two, and three. It hadn’t been easy, especially in science and engineering. One doesn’t make it that far without a system. You had a list of rules for yourself:
Do the homework the day it’s assigned.
Study the homework.
Read ahead.
Borrow books to read more about every subject.
Attend every class. No absences even if you were sick.
No distractions. No parties, no leisure time if an assignment is due. Work first. Always.
Annotate everything that the professors say. Even the small comments.
Study at least three days before a test.
And the most important one:
Don’t let anyone see you fail. Not once.
Perfection was key. Inside and outside of the classroom alike.
Except… it was draining; you couldn’t deny that. This wasn’t in your nature. Maybe it wasn’t in anyone’s nature to try so much. You cherished the moments when you rested in the middle of the gardens in spring, with the birds softly chirping and the grass rustling in the wind. Nothing was better than being right in the middle of the semester, with nothing to do and nothing to turn in. You’d go out to lunch with some friends, maybe read a book or something. Whatever it was, the choice was yours.
That bliss would come again, and soon. Just as soon as you pushed through for one final time to earn your third pair of diamonds.
You could not fail. Not when your parents worked their tails off to leave the undercity and raise you in Piltover. Even when they were still alive and well, they always told you to be the best for yourself. They screwed that into your head ever since you were little. More so when they both got sick from the fumes they had inhaled their whole life. It was the fate of a large chunk of people living in the underbelly of Piltover. Especially people like you who were born in the lower parts of the entresol level. Your parents managed to scrape together enough to rent a small shack on the outskirts of town near the cold and uninviting harbor. Having daily access to sea air over toxic fumes gave you much better odds.
Seeing them cough up blood, lose mobility, and losing them to illness gave you the final push to be self-sufficient.  You got into Piltover’s University yourself. You filled out the dormitory paperwork so you wouldn’t sleep on the streets like they once had to. You applied for weekend jobs to feed and clothe yourself during university.
You did that. You, your perseverance, and nobody else.
And gods be damned if anyone thought you would slack off a month before the final exam.
The long corridors went on and on as you swept through them, trying to keep your papers in your notebook.
Fuck, fuck, fuck. I hope he’s in his lab right now. You thought.
You needed Professor Heimerdinger to look over your paper for one of your classes. Normally, you wouldn’t have asked for his help, knowing he had much more important matters at hand. But he had offered help to anyone in one of his classes you took. So, you had to take his word for it. You didn’t have the time to guess if you had done the homework right.
It was due in two days. If there was something wrong, you needed to know. Stat. These kinds of equations were so unforgiving when you put a decimal one space more than it needed to be. With sleep deprivation, any mistake was possible.
Once you made it to his lab, you straightened your vest, sleeves, and organized your pages. Then, with three swift knocks, you made your presence known. The professor's voice echoed through the lab and grew closer with little tip-taps of his feet. The door opened inward, and you looked down.
There he was, short as always and his fur covered in dust. “My! If it isn’t one of my best pupils! Come, come. Come in!” He stepped aside to let you in with a smile. Sheepishly, you skulked in, having never entered his lab. You followed him toward the back of the room to resume what he was doing. It looked like he was organizing and cleaning up the lab. Papers lay scattered, and screws were sprinkled all over the place.
It was amazing.
Its walls stood tall with elevated bookshelves filled to the brim with books. At the far left were three large windows that would let the incoming sunset in. So many gadgets and contraptions were everywhere, big and small. Some finished, some open and in the middle of repairs. And by Janna, the sketches. Endless notes and sketches of invention ideas pasted on walls.
“Apologies for the mess! You know how it is with the end of the semester. Cleaning out old ideas in favor of new ones!” You could have looked at it all day until the professor brought you back to the moment, “what can I help you with today?”
“Oh, well. In the last class of this semester, you said if we ever needed help with anything, we could come to you for help, right?” You pulled the papers out of your notebook. “And I need it. I really do—"
The soft hum of the lab door stopped your words and another student waltzed inside in a hurry.
“Professor Heimerdinger! I’m here about the funds for the library improvements. The student body wants to hand over the list of expenses to you and the council so we can get approval.”
“Oh yes! How exciting! Come! Come in!” Professor Heimerdinger skipped past you and took the stack of papers from the student. He skimmed through them and looked back at you. “I’ll be with you in a second.”
“It’s fine," you said, putting your hand up. "I can wait."
“Thank you, I was waiting for this visit– Actually, let me call my assistant." He looked up from the papers and called out. “Viktor! Could you assist me here for a minute?” He smiled at you from below. Professor Heimerdinger was your favorite by far; he was always so kind. His short stature likely contributed to the friendliness he gave off.
Wait. Is someone else in the lab?
Soft metal clinks came from the hidden part of the professor’s lab along with some footsteps. Your ears searched for the sound’s origin, but your eyes beat you to it. They landed on a tall, slender stranger with nicely combed brown hair along his angular face.  The stranger seemed pretentious and intimidating with his golden cane wrapped in fine maroon leather.
Until he spoke.
“Good afternoon,” he said with a softness as he passed his cane to his other hand to greet you. Your mind looked through its catalog of faces. Had you seen him before? It wasn’t a face you could recall on the spot. Maybe you’d know if you hadn’t sequestered yourself in your studies for the past four years.
“Have you met?” The professor asked.
“I don’t think so.” You shook his hand firmly as the professor said your name to him.
Professor Heimerdinger handed him your seven equation-filled pages. “This is Viktor, my assistant. My right hand, if you will!” Viktor seemed to count the pages as the professor continued. “I’m going to have him look through your paper, if it’s alright with him. And you!”
Another student checking your homework made you feel nervous. What if he missed a crucial error? A thousand what-ifs filled your head and you pushed them out with one logical thought.
If he’s the professor’s assistant, he must know what he’s doing, right?
Between all your mental chaos, you gave a simple answer. “That’s fine by me.”
“It’s not a problem, Professor. I remember this project.” Viktor straightened the papers out, "it'll be a refresher.”
As soon as he said the word 'refresher', you noticed his three sets of diamonds on his vest. It meant only one thing.
He had already graduated.
Not an upperclassman. This is going to be so embarrassing if it’s wrong. The thought ate at you. You hoped it didn't show on your face.
“Oh goody! I’ll be done in a minute.” He hurried over to the student.
Viktor’s head tilted towards the back of the lab. "We can sit if you’d like.” A small table with four chairs near the tall windows waited for you, covered in papers like the rest of the room.
“Yeah, that works.” You followed him, still gazing at the immensity of the lab. So many books for the professor to have on hand. One could only dream.
Arriving at the table, you reached for the chair in front of you, but Viktor had placed his hand on it.
I should’ve waited for him to pick a chair first.
He pulled it out and motioned for you to sit.
Oh.
You sat and adjusted your vest. “Thank you.”
He soon followed, placing his cane on the side of the table and clearing his throat. Without another word, he started looking through it. His gaze focused on the problem at the top. He looked intimidating again with his thick brows cinched together.
Your eyes wandered through the silence. Well, almost silence. The shuffling of your project paired with the professor’s voice made your nerves skyrocket. Still, you had to sit still like nothing was wrong. Otherwise, you’d be pacing around the room with your arms crossed. You decided to break the quietness.
Be polite.
“Thanks for looking through my project." You huffed, "I’m about to graduate and I don’t want to repeat the class. Ever.”
No, seriously. That was the worst class you’d ever been through. Sleepless nights and dark eye bags were the prize every student had after taking the class. Professor Penmark was the filter for graduation. Condescending to absolutely everyone, so it wasn't personal towards you.
“It’s no problem. I graduated a year ago. I still remember this class. That teacher isn’t lenient, huh?"
“Not at all.” You chuckled, still keeping your posture rigid and proper.
His face relaxed, “I remember how the class gasped when he said that this homework–project-thing… was going to decide if you passed or not." Then his eyes widened. "Fun.” He kept flipping through the pages quite swiftly. Was he even looking through it? “Looks like he made it more complicated this year. Not impossible, but—" Viktor looked up. “How long did this take you?”
“Six hours. With breaks.”
“Hm.”
Viktor went back to the pages and looked intimidating again because your fate of passing the class was in his hands. A few short hums, or huffs, came from him. That made you worried. A hum or a huff could only mean one thing: a mistake.
Let’s say it was wrong. That meant it was back to square one. The teacher gave you three days to complete it. You were already one day down. If it took you six hours and it was wrong this first time, you had another seven tries at the most to try again. You sat there, praying to whatever would listen that your calculations had been right, with every symbol correctly switched and—
“So, what’s wrong with it?” His voice cut off your train of thought.
All you could muster up was a measly, 'what?'
“You brought it here to fix any mistakes, no?” He looked up from your papers, looking terribly confused. More confused than you, actually.
“W-wait. Is it correct? The whole thing? Are you sure?”
There’s no way.
“Well... Yes. What’s the issue?”
You didn’t know what to feel. Satisfaction, anxiousness, relief? You figured out the problem on the first try? Clear? No repeats, a clean sweep?
“No, that’s what I wanted to know, if it had no mistakes,” you took the paper when he handed it back to you. “Oh my—I can finally rest.”
There was a brief moment of silence before the professor’s voice became louder, “yes, very well! I’ll make sure to let them know! Check the corrections I gave you and come back!” He escorted the person out and came back to you both in little steps, "oh, I’m terribly sorry, you two. I was caught up in some council duties, but now that that’s out of the way, did Viktor look over your project?”
You sprung from your chair, “yes! It’s done. No mistakes.”
“It’s to be expected; you have a knack for numbers!” He looked up at Viktor. "And with a talent like this boy's, it’s inconceivable that it’s wrong!”
"It never hurts to be extra sure." Your hands kept fidgeting with your papers.
“I suggest turning it in right now! You don’t want to end up forgetting!” The professor walked to the door as you followed. Thankfully, the project was over and completely correct. Now you could finally take a small break.
Wait.
How could you forget to say goodbye?
How rude of me.
You turned on your heel and waved, "it was nice to meet you!"
He was already standing up before you called to him. For a second, he was taken aback.
Then, he replied. "Likewise."

Choke Me
Summary: The men of TF 141 figure out you like being choked.
Warnings: 18+! Minors DNI! Choking, not too descriptive but still very much 18+!
A/N: GN!Reader for this one! Also did this on mobile at work, so it's not beta read. Sorry for any mistakes dhsbbs Let me know do you want one of these for like Konig or Alejandro or anyone else!
Tumblr media
It had been a joke. Really. It was harmless. You got bratty when your boyfriend was upset with you. "What? Are you gonna spank me?" You questioned him. The look you received was one of shock, from everyone. One of your friends, who was also part of Task Force 141 took it into his owns hands to help you handle the situation. "I think you should choke them." He snorted. Your head snapped towards him. He continued, "Actually don't do that either... They would love that too."
While it had started as a joke. It surely would not end as one.
Captain John Price: He is in shock! How did he not know? Is a little confused on if it's really a joke so he asks about it later in the bedroom. Voice all husky and full of lust. Says he was gonna spank you, but could definitely choke you if that's what you're into. Even if you're being a brat, you deserve to get what you want after all. He wraps his hand around your throat while he fucks you and the way you come undone immediately is very hot. Price is very good at what he does. He is very skilled with his hands. You learn that quick.
Kyle 'Gaz' Garrick: Is probably slightly apprehensive when it comes to this tbh. At least the most apprehensive out of the bunch imo. Literally does not want to harm you in anyway, especially on accident. He asks about it and when you nonchalantly tell him you do like that he does want to try it, but is very careful with it. "Remember our safe word?" He asks, you sitting in his lap. When you nod and repeat it to him, he gives you a nod back. You are in his lap, riding him, when his hand finds a home around your throat. The way you immediately come undone, your eyes rolling back, clenching around him?? He is hooked.
John 'Soap' Mactavish: is a little freak in the bedroom. But didn't know you liked being choked. Is immediately up for trying it with you. He is tied as the least afraid of asking about it when you get back to the bedroom. "Is it true? Ya like being choked?" You nod. He is so down for trying literally anything. So as soon as you give the 'okay', he is on it. He has you pinned to the mattress, railing you, his hand slides up your chest and grabs for your throat. You react immediately. Mouth agape and mind blank. The way your whining and mumbling has Soap whipped for sure. Will definitely be going that again.
Simon 'Ghost' Riley: Is surprised he didn't know you liked being choked. Like genuinely. Y'all aren't very vanilla in the bedroom, so that going under his radar was shocking. Is tied with Soap on who's least likely afraid to ask about the remark. Would spank you for being a brat earlier, and ask about the choking thing while spanking you. Simon is Very consent oriented so he will be getting all the consent before doing Anything. But as soon as he is given the okay? You are pinned to the wall, him plowing into you, his hand against your throat. He can't help but tell you how good you're being for him, causing you to absolutely lose it. Simon, like the other guys, is most definitely looking forward to more of that.

you dont have to publish this ask if you don't want to. but i just wanted to say that im not sure how i really feel about ranger becoming disabled and how it could kinda be read as for audience catharsis. youre a good writer and i dont want to interpret your writing in bad faith, and obviously i dont know your full intent behind the choice to blind ranger. but a lot of the audience reaction in the replies and such made me a bit uncomfortable as a visually impaired disabled person myself. disability as a punishment for evil is a pretty common (and ableist) trope. i dont think you really did it to the extent its done in other media (especially with a character like daffodilpaw as a good guy. like death, disability affects everyone, good and bad) but yeah the audience reaction made me a little uncomfortable that they were viewing it as deserved or cathartic or punishing. it especially didnt sit very well with me when paired up with hacksaw, his partner and another very evil character having lost a chunk of her wing just before. like i said at the start you dont have to publish this ask if you dont want to. i dont know how the story is going to go, and pinepaws injury could very well impact him in the future for example. but i figured i should voice my current in-the-moment discomfort, especially if it helps you in your future writing endeavors. otherwise, i really liked the new issue!
Tumblr media
Since this was asked about twice I will go ahead and publish it; and say that firstly, I really appreciate you both bringing up your concerns and going about it in a very polite way. I don't want anyone to feel afraid to bring things up about the story or put me on a pedestal, I'm not a perfect person just because you like my stories.
And in terms of your asks themselves - I honestly do apologize that it came off that way, I didn't intend at all to play into the trope of disability as a karmic punishment for evil. I'm not disabled myself, or at least not in the visual or mobile way, so it is likely just an actual blindspot for me in terms of my writing. Disability is absolutely not a punishment for anything, and if you're blind or missing a limb there is nothing wrong with you at all.
If knowing my thought process helps at all, here's how I came to that story decision:
I want Ranger and Hacksaw to try to attack Pinepaw but both have their arrogance that's been building for the whole story checked. Also, it needs to be in some way that actually hinders them so they don't just keep attacking. -> Well, I don't want them to die, because I have things I want to do with their characters after the event ends. So, what would be an interesting and symbolic injury that takes them off the table? -> Hacksaw's main source of attacking other people is by divebombing them, so losing a wing would really impact her sense of strength. And, Ranger relies on outward control so much that losing his sight would damage a lot of his ego as well. There are some things about the characters I can't talk about just yet which, depending on your opinions, might change how you feel, but those were my general ideas.
I completely didn't realize how easy it to fall into that trope and I'm very sorry that it made you uncomfortable, that was very much not my intention. Like you said it's so normalized in media that most people don't even think about it - and certainly something I'll be more aware of next time I write anything like this.

Can I ask you to do a post about Disney & disability please? You mentioned it and I’d love to know more!
Well, my notifications can't get any messier, so why not?
This post got very, very long because I ended up talking about a lot of the accessibility solutions in detail (and... ranting about how accessibility at Universal was so bad that I got physically injured there) so I'm putting it under a cut for you.
To preface this, I have mobility issues (as well as a lot of food intolerances/allergies) and general chronic illness, my sister is Deaf, and I have friends who regularly attend the park with autistic family members with high support needs. These are the disabilities I have experience with, so while I've heard a bit about others (such as portable descriptive devices for visitors with visual impairments) I can't speak as much about those accommodations.
I have also traveled quite a bit, mostly as a disabled adult. I can work from anywhere and my family enjoys traveling, so I've been very lucky in this regard. I also used to live in central Florida, not too far from Disney, and benefited from their FL resident rates.
So I'm coming at this from a person who has a lot of experience traveling while disabled and a fair amount of experience going to WDW, though I haven't been nearly as often since I moved out of Florida.
(Good fucking riddance.)
So know that I am speaking from experience when I say I have never, without exception, been to a single place half as accessible as Walt Disney World. It is literally the reason my family would go there; it was one of the only places we could all safely go together. One of the only places I've been on earth that even approached their level of thoughtful accommodations is Barcelona, which apparently did significant renovations throughout the city in order to prepare for the 1992 Paralympics.
(Hey, if anyone is reading this from Barcelona: I teared up the first time I used one of your curb cuts in my wheelchair, just so you know.)
Going through those parks in a wheelchair is a breeze, though you will probably have to fight a lot of clueless parents with strollers who are hellbent on using resources intended for wheelchair-users and then glaring at you when you try to use them yourself. Level ground, spacious sidewalks, accessible transportation, well-kept gradual ramps, roomy buildings, lots of accessible restrooms, alternate entrances at many rides for wheelchair users, special wheelchair rows in movie theaters that we're loaded into first, accessible queues in most rides designed or renovated in the last fifteen years, special viewing areas for shows/parades/fireworks so you don't end up staring at able-bodied butts for a half hour...
Like, structurally-speaking, the parks are very easy to get around in if you're a wheelchair user. That was built in and you can see a lot of very mindful design choices. As far as the rides go, most of their rides actually have special cars that you can load into while still in a wheelchair. They're pretty neat. I can transfer, but that means often leaving my wheelchair and/or cane with a cast member during the ride. They are always, without fail, waiting for me on the other side of the ride, no matter how far the exit is from the entrance. I have never once had a problem with this. A cast member will be there to put my assistive devices in my hand before I even have to think about getting up. Guaranteed.
Wheelchair users always used to be able to skip the line, but there was unfortunately a problem with able-bodied people pretending to be disabled to skip lines (because god forbid they not have access to a single thing we have to make our lives livable) so now there's a system where if you cannot wait in a line, they'll basically give you a special time to come back that's equivalent to the length of the line. Which feels fair to me as someone who often cannot be in even an accessible line for extended periods. (I have problems with sunlight, heat, and often need emergency food or restroom.)
More important than all this, though, is the fact that cast members are impeccably well-trained in all of this. Any disabled person can tell you that the most accessible design on earth isn't worth shit if the people working there aren't well-trained. (More on this later, when I take a giant shit on Universal Studios.) But Disney trains their employees, many of whom are disabled themselves, incredibly well.
Every employee will know where the accessible entrances are. Every employee will know the procedure for getting a return time. Every employee will know about first-aid centers, and every employee will know where the quiet areas are for people with sensory issues. Every time you make a reservation for a meal, hotel room, transportation, etc. they will ask for all accessibility needs and they'll be ready for you.
Every waiter you have will be incredibly careful and knowledgeable when it comes to special dietary needs, and chefs will often come out to discuss them with you. They often have specific menus for different dietary needs, and they are scrupulous when it comes to allergens. I have a few intolerances that suck and allergies that could kill me and I have always felt very safe in their hands. This ranges from fancy sit-down restaurants to quick service burger places.
And -- honestly, I have just always been treated with respect. I know that sounds like a low bar, but most people do fail to clear it. Disney has their employees very well-trained on how to interact with disabled guests. People speak directly to me, never to the able-bodied people over my head. They never treat me like I'm a child. They never ask invasive questions or make uncomfortable jokes. They never, ever get impatient with my accessibility needs.
The few times I have misjudged things and have injured myself or gotten extremely ill, they were professional and caring as they provided much-needed first-aid. It's kind of embarrassing to be doted on by a costumed character while you wait for a doctor to come help you sit up again, but also kind of endearing, I'll admit.
They also, in addition to captioning all videos in the park, have some of the best sign language interpreters in the world, bar none. They're very personal and professional, they're easy to reserve, they will always be in a visible place during shows, and they're incredible performers as well as being very technically proficient. In addition to the professional interpreters, many cast members, performers, and characters can sign as well.
In addition to that, and this brings me to my next point, you'll meet a lot of disabled employees throughout the park. In front-facing positions. Deaf employees, employees using mobility aids, etc. They're well-known to hire disabled people and treat them well. This is. Fuck, this is incredibly rare, I say as someone who was never able to find a job in Florida with my health conditions. It's the moral thing to do to hire disabled people, but also -- selfishly, there's something so heartening and normalizing about seeing people who look like you working at the park. I'm happy every single time.
I have a little less personal experience when it comes to accessibility for neurodivergence, despite being neurodivergent myself, but I've been told that Disney is very, very accommodating for people on the spectrum. A lot is done to lessen crowding, waiting, sensory overload, etc. for autistic guests. Cast members are usually super good at this; finding designated quiet areas, helping autistic guests avoid more crowded areas, keeping them out of long lines, making sure they have access to any particular experiences that are special to them, etc.
For folks who need help from their group, whether that's an autistic child who needs to be with a parent or a disabled adult who needs someone to push their wheelchair or anything else, Disney has a rider switch-off model. In other words, if you're there with both of your able-bodied parents, for example, and you need one of them to be with you at all times and you don't want to be on the ride yourself, Disney will allow one person to go on the ride while the other waits for them to finish, then will allow the second person to go on without any additional wait. This makes sure that everyone in the family gets equal access without leaving disabled people alone. (Which... can be a very shitty feeling, I assure you.)
I know that Disney has also pioneered a lot of assistive technology. The accessible rides, obviously, which can be ridiculously cool (like Toy Story Midway Mania has an accessible car with alternative "guns" for people with dexterity limitations so they can play the carnival games as well) but also handheld assistive devices for visually impaired guests, etc. Like they are literally inventing new forms of accessibility technology, which is so cool.
And honestly, I'm always learning about new ways they assist disabled guests. I've stayed in Disney's accessible hotel rooms before (they're very nice!) but I don't like to swim so I've never been in the pools. But even just this week, someone told me that Disney has pool lifts for disabled guests, which I had never even considered. That's so cool.
The best part about accessibility at Disney is that in some ways it's very casual. A lot of their design decisions are so intuitive that you never even notice how accessible the parks are until you go somewhere where that's... not the case.
Like -- just so you don't assume that any of these things are industry standard, let me tell you about the two times I went to Universal, a park very close to Disney. I went there once for an event and once with my family.
The first time I went was for an event at the opening of the Harry Potter park. (This was before JKR made her most appalling views public, to be clear.) It... was frustrating. Guests asked if there would be food and drink available for people with special dietary restrictions (such as sugar-free butterbeer) and were pretty much told that no, that was not something they were interested in pursuing. It became very obvious very quickly that the park itself was so narrow that it only barely fulfilled ADA standards -- when empty. We were told that JKR had actually specifically insisted that it feel "cramped". Which is a nice way to say that I couldn't actually get around in any of the stores while people were in them.
It was overall a frustrating experience, but it was like. One night. I figured it was probably a fluke and they were still ironing out all the details. So I ended up going back with my parents later.
Y'all, it was a shit show.
Broken elevators that prevented disabled guests from accessing rides. Performers being up on raised platforms/sidewalks so disabled guests couldn't get to them. Sidewalks being made inaccessible by putting movable signs directly in the middle of them. Stores (even outside of the HP part) that were so damn narrow that I actually ended up getting hurt trying to navigate one of them. And no -- it was not easy to get first aid.
And my god, was the training bad. We went to one of the new HP rides, asked if there was a specific entrance for disabled guests. We were told no. We waited for a very long time in a line that honestly I shouldn't have been waiting in, but I wanted to be a good sport. I was pretty sick by the time we got through it, and the line itself had some very dangerous inclines/turns for wheelchair users. We get to the front of the line -- and the employee asks why we didn't just use the accessible entrance. 🙃
(Side note: several of their rides are also just unrideable if you don't fit within a pretty narrow body type of thin and able-bodied, so... there's that.)
We'd asked repeatedly and gotten incorrect answers, and I'd been put in physical danger as a result. Wild. I started to notice that if you asked different employees, you'd get different answers about almost anything, really. Just exceptionally poor training. Even stuff that should've been a no-brainer, like loading wheelchair users into a stationary movie theater, ended up creating chaos when they did it incorrectly and we had a giant wheelchair pileup.
Like -- let me stress to you that many of the things that happened could have caused actual injury to people. Some of these situations were dangerous. And some of them were just alienating, like when I'd have to wait outside a store while my family could go in.
I never went back after that. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ We just kept going to Disney.
One thing that'll probably show how good Disney is at accessibility is the whole Make-A-Wish thing. A lot of people know that it's a popular Make-A-Wish request, and you're likely to see at least a couple kids with Make-A-Wish buttons during your visit if you keep an eye out. One reason for this, is that, y'know, Disney World is fun. Kids want to go there. But more important, I think, is that Disney can accommodate people with at-times severe medical needs. Those kids can safely go anywhere and do anything in those parks that able-bodied kids can, and that's important.
All in all, the parks are just so accessible and you will never, ever be made to feel like you're lesser for needing those accommodations. You will be treated so well and you will not have to worry about accessibility because the cast members are always doing it for you. They'll usher you into the correct entrance as soon as they see a mobility device, and they'll do it with a very warm welcome. It's one of the very few places on earth where I have never felt like a burden.
Again, y'know, I know that Disney does not have a perfect track record on a lot of issues. I would never defend them from rightfully earned criticism. I strongly support labor action against them, and I do think they should be criticized whenever they fuck up. I have been uncomfortable with the sheer amount of power they have both in Florida and in the entertainment world just because no one should have that much power. But I am far more uncomfortable with that power being stripped away for blatantly discriminatory political reasons.
I do have some loyalty to Disney just because there is no other place on earth where I've been able to safely have fun with my friends with so little agony. That's... I mean, it's important, really. To be able to just exist in public without getting grief for it. And I have some loyalty to them because they were a safe space for me as a young, queer kid who was not safe being out in other areas of my life.
(Like, I am talking about actual literal safety. I kept seeing notes on my post saying that Disney didn't care about creating a "safe space for queer people" but as someone who lived in Florida for the entirety of my teenage years? It was the safest goddamn place there.)
I do not have enough loyalty to defend them when they do immoral bullshit, but I do have enough to make sure that people know the good that they do as well.
I want other businesses to follow Disney's model for disability. I will praise them forever for what they've done in that regard because if I don't, there's no reason for other companies to follow suit. I want to praise them for the good things they've done so they have incentive to keep doing it, and other companies have an incentive to do it as well.
Like bro, I just wanna be able to move around and be treated with some dignity, y'know? My bar is so low. lmao
But yeah. That's why you always see so many disabled guests at Disney. It's literally the only place some of us can go to have fun.

MOUTHWASHING SPOILERS except i don’t know how to make that read more thing on mobile…
.
.
jesus… every take i’ve seen on tumblr about mouthwashing is so . braindead. and lacks so much media literacy it actually makes my brain hurt. literally all i’ve seen is “curly is actually just as bad as jimmy (who is a murderer rpist)” and “hahaha jimmy curly toxic yaoi dead dove haha” like What is happening.
jimmy’s toxic obsession with curly does not have to be romantic whatsoever, and it’s kind of disgusting and concerning that people are taking it that way???? and im sorry but curly is not as bad as jimmy whatsoever and i have yet to see anyone say what they would do in his situation considering he kinda . became what he is now before he could actually do Anything at all!
it always kind of annoys me to see people misinterpret media to fit their own mindset and ideas/just agreeing and repeating what everyone else is saying cus it’s popular, instead of actually analyzing the media for what it is.
and it also just disturbs me to see so little people actually like. talk about how vile and fucked up jimmy is. i have yet to see any posts analyzing his character and his actions, including criticizing and condemning his behavior throughout the game. and none of this logic has been applied to swansea and daisuke which is annoying and just blatantly shows inherent bias.
and it’s sad cus nobody really sees them as anything other than “ohh they’re so nice ohh they’re so awesome they’re cool characters” like NO they have depth and complexity too why are you not affording them the same analysis as anya and curly!!!! ESPECIALLY SWANSEA 😭🙏🙏🙏

Hello!! I saw your requests were open and was wondering if I could requests how the brothers would react to and treat an MC with chronic illnesses that cause them to need mobility aids like a cane, rollator and wheelchair to get around depending on how they feel (I mostly have to use a rollator and it's a pretty pink) but it also causes them to have dizzy spells really easily so they may have to randomly sit while out and about, leaves them with very little energy most days but they push through cause that's life but there's some days where the chronic fatigue and chronic pain keeps them bed ridden (and thus unable to attend RAD). I've been struggling for a year myself and I just really am turning to my boys for comfort. Even if you can't get to this or don't feel you can write for this I really appreciate just reading it! I'm excited to read more from you truly! Hope you have a good day!

A/N: First of all, thank you so much for your request! I really hope this piece brings you some comfort and makes you feel supported. I know that living with chronic illness can be really tough, but please remember that you’re strong, and you deserve all the care, love, and support in the world. I’m sending you so much warmth, and I truly hope you get well soon and take care of yourself! 🫂💖✨ Thank you again for sharing your request, and I’m wishing you nothing but health and happiness! 💖

Lucifer was never one to show his emotions easily, but seeing you struggle with something so beyond your control weighed heavily on him. His stoic demeanor often concealed the concern that lurked beneath.
When he first noticed you using a rollator, he didn't flinch. But the moment he saw the one you picked out, he couldn’t help but offer a small smile—a rare sight for the others, as if approving your choice.
"Let me know if you need assistance, MC." he'd offer, his voice calm and gentle. "You shouldn't feel the need to push yourself too hard." His eyes softened when you mentioned feeling dizzy or fatigued, a far cry from his usual commanding tone. He'd always make sure to walk beside you when you were out, offering his arm for support or using his influence to make sure no one bumped into you.
If you had to miss RAD for the day, he'd send you a tray of your favorite food, made with care. He'd also stop by with paperwork, though the way he would look at you was soft with understanding, as if telling you that his pride in you never wavered, even if you couldn't be there today.
"I don’t mind handling things here. Rest as you need."

Mammon, while initially unsure how to react to your condition, soon became your most fervent protector. He had a big heart, even if it was wrapped up in layers of greed and bravado. When you first mentioned you had a mobility aid, he was quick to say, "Oi, if anyone tries to mess with ya, you tell 'em I’ll handle it!"
He wasn’t always the most graceful about it, but his intentions were always pure. If he saw you sitting down because you were too dizzy, he'd immediately rush to your side, wrapping an arm around you to steady you.
"Ya don’t need to push yerself, ya know? Ye’re gonna hurt yourself!" he’d say, not fully understanding what it meant to push through chronic pain, but he’d do everything in his power to help.
He would try to pamper you on days you had to stay in bed, coming in with snacks, blankets, and random trinkets that he thought might cheer you up. "Ya deserve all the best stuff, so don’t feel bad about it!" he’d grumble, sitting by your side, even if he wasn’t the most delicate at times.

Leviathan was the type to do a lot of thinking and worrying in silence, so it took him some time to come to terms with how to best support you. His first instinct was to ask you if you needed help, but his anxiety often made him second-guess himself. He was nervous about saying the wrong thing, so he focused on actions rather than words.
One day, you were struggling to get from one place to another, and before you could even say a word, Levi appeared with your rollator, offering it to you with a shy but earnest smile. "I-I saw you needed this... I thought maybe this would make it easier...?" he’d say, voice awkward but full of sincerity. "Y-you don’t need to go anywhere by yourself! I can help... I can even carry your stuff if you want!"
His heart would ache every time you mentioned a day when the fatigue hit you hardest, and when you stayed in bed, he’d be there with games, movies, and all the comfort items he could think of. He'd worry about you endlessly, but it came from a place of deep care.
"Please, MC, take it easy... You don't have to do everything." he’d say, hoping you knew you could rely on him for anything you needed.
Tumblr media
Satan was one of the few who could immediately grasp the depth of what you were going through. With his intelligence and empathy, he had no trouble understanding chronic pain and illness, as he had dealt with his own inner turmoil for years. When you talked about your mobility aids and dizziness, he listened intently and asked all the right questions to understand how he could be of help.
"Your well-being comes first." he’d remind you, offering his support without hesitation. If you were feeling fatigued, he wouldn’t insist on anything. Instead, he’d suggest the most calming ways to spend the day together, whether it was reading or simply relaxing by your side.
If you had to miss RAD, he'd make sure to bring something comforting—be it a book, tea, or a quiet space to rest. He was always gentle in his approach, never pushing you to do anything you weren’t comfortable with.
"I don’t mind handling things in your stead. Take care of yourself, MC." he’d say softly, his gaze full of respect.
Tumblr media
Asmodeus was quick to fall into a protective role when it came to you. He absolutely adored your pink rollator, often calling it "fabulously cute" and making sure it was always in the best condition. He had a tendency to fuss over you, but it came from a place of deep love and care.
"Sweetie, you must be more careful! I can’t have you looking so tired all the time, can I?" He would go overboard on pampering you with lavish gifts, massages, and all the luxury his power could provide. His eyes would soften every time you told him how much energy it took just to get through the day, and his heart would ache for you on the days you were bedridden.
"You deserve nothing but the best, darling." he'd say, fluffing your pillows and pampering you with as much comfort as possible. He’d always remind you that he was there to help with anything—whether you needed someone to talk to, someone to hang out with, or just someone to make you smile.
Tumblr media
Beelzebub’s approach was simple: he just wanted you to feel as comfortable as possible. He was incredibly perceptive when it came to your needs, and if he noticed you were struggling, he'd make sure to do whatever it took to help. He was quiet, but there was a deep tenderness to his actions.
If you needed to sit down because of dizziness, Beel would sit beside you without a word, making sure you had a safe space. He'd always keep an eye on your health, ensuring you had everything you needed, whether it was food, comfort, or just some time to rest.
He was also the type to sneak in with snacks or meals when you were bedridden, always making sure you were well-fed and comfortable. If you couldn’t attend RAD, he wouldn’t push you, simply reassuring you that he’d handle things and give you all the space you needed.
"Don’t worry about anything. Just rest." he’d say quietly, always the gentle giant, putting your needs above his own.
Tumblr media
Belphegor, ever the laid-back one, wasn’t always the first to jump into action, but he was incredibly in tune with your emotions. He knew what it was like to struggle with energy, and while he’d never outwardly admit it, he had a quiet, empathetic understanding of your chronic fatigue.
On days when you couldn’t get out of bed, he’d quietly slip in, laying beside you, offering his warmth and presence as a comfort. If you needed a cane or rollator, he’d be there to grab it without question, lazily moving about the house to ensure you weren’t uncomfortable.
"Don’t worry. Take a nap," he’d whisper with a sleepy grin. "I’ll make sure the others don’t bother you."
Belphegor might not have been as vocal about his concern as some of the others, but his gentle actions showed his love and dedication. He’d take care of everything else while you rested, making sure you had one less thing to worry about.

ART CAMPAIGN BOOST SUBMISSIONS:
edit: i hit the image limit for this post, so any new additions will be included here
the tag is starting to get kinda crowded (great problem, dw). i just thought compiling them all here would make things easier for everyone to find! all of the art displayed below is free to use for the purposes of promoting vetted gfm's here on tumblr. no credit is needed unless specified (marked = ***). if you have any questions regarding how to craft a post using any of the art provided -> please do not hesitate to reach out to me! note: please press follow post as i will most likely need to update this masterlist from time to time.
some info is below the cut on how to best utilize this material. please read it in its entirety before using any artwork. thank you 🖤
learn how to make art for this project here:
---
this project has gained a lot of momentum and has shown very promising results. the level of engagement once art is attached to a vetted gfm increases significantly. you will see what i mean as i have linked example posts of how to best use these pieces to help families in need.
i currently have a list of over 20+ families that i am spotlighting in my own personal progress tracker (the list has gotten so long that i now need to make a second version to accommodate all the families trying to get in contact with me).
this art campaign boost is truly meant to be utilized by anyone. i would sincerely appreciate it if y'all could take some time and pick maybe 1-2 people from this list and use the art below to create your own signal boost posts on the families' behalf. as someone who is periodically tracking their progress- i know that donation rates have slowed for a number of them. i am one person and can only do so much on my own. the essence of this initiative is to get more people to mobilize as a collective. it will take everyone to get on board in order for these families to be able to reach their goals. that means spotlighting their accounts/campaigns periodically.
you need to keep up the momentum.
the individuals you are helping currently live in areas with minimal internet connection, meaning it is very difficult to spotlight themselves on their own. especially since this site is continuously suppressing/deleting their accounts. they need you to interact with their content. tumblr isn't like other social media sites. it's known for being very 'anti-algorithm' and it's common culture for many of us to not really care about our levels of engagement (i.e. follower count/amount of notes per post). it's very hard for your own content to "break" your inner circle of followers and gain traction if the topic of the post is not "popular" or "trending" these families are not operating on this site the same way you are. you may be using this platform as a means to "just vibe" but they are using it as a desperate attempt to raise essential funding to save their lives. the importance that their posts be elevated cannot be overstated. anyone who has ever created any sort of og content here knows how quickly a post can die out if no one interacts with it. this cannot happen with them.
tips for making your own signal boost post* (*for vetted campaigns):
-> make it easy to read + eye-catching: the problem i am seeing when you search many of these families' accounts is that their "tag" (username of their account) is full of the same types of posts (i.e. a generic response to their initial message to another person on tumblr) <- aka it is very easy for people to tune out which is the opposite of what we want to happen. creating your OWN posts in response to their asks allows the art to appear FIRST when people look up someone's account via tumblr's search bar, which will attract more attention to their accounts. it also forces people who are making these posts to actually sit down and read the stories they are sharing with the rest of their mutuals/lurkers alike -> include verification sources: the main reason people are searching for these accounts is b/c they are trying to see if it is okay to reblog/share their campaign with their own following. if you address this plainly and early on in your post that includes artwork -> people are more likely to interact -> tag the account you are promoting: please include the families' account as one of your #'s so it will appear when you search for their names on tumblr. also try @'ing their account in your post so it'll be easier for these families to find your work. some of them are incredibly new to the platform and may not be aware of all its features. something that you may find intuitive may not be as easily understood for these individuals. your role is to make them as easy as possible to find for others so they can gain more support. --- don't have time to type out a whole post for a family on their behalf? -> interact with one of theirs! attach something nice/helpful to their posts so it is more readily available for others to share. the same rules apply from above. as i said before, some of these accounts are brand spanking new and are not formatted in the same ways as others that may be more well-versed on how tumblr operates in terms of promoting their campaigns. (for example: even if the account has been vetted/verified by multiple trusted individuals- the owners of that account may not know to include that info in their posts about their campaign every single time they post. you can make their lives easier by including that info for them by reblogging one of their og posts and adding the necessary info on their behalf)
you can also find a more comprehensive list of vetted campaigns by el-shab-hussein/nabulsi here <- their list is now over 200+ with several campaigns that are "in the red" (very low in funding). please do not hesitate to try to spotlight anyone from this list as well!
el-shab-hussein also has a masterpost pinned here with additional campaigns (including those for other countries like sudan)
alright i've explained enough- time for the art!
