Round 7 Final thoughts/Analysis

First of all, Blink Gone is a banger but we knew that already.

Second,

Till is and also is not dead. Till was used as a pawn for the segyein for entertainment. Keep in mind this is Season 50. 50 seasons of Alien Stage, and you think they wouldn't go off without a hitch? Till was used to lure Hyuna and Mizi back. Hyuna is worth a lot and Mizi escaped live on stage. Think of the Quarter Quells in The Hunger Games. Do you really think... they wouldn't make Season 50 special? Especially since Luka won S49. It was always rigged in Luka's favor. Or is it? (hey, vsauce here-)

Now. Till was EXTREMELY drugged up. He may have had his fighting spirit back, but he was definitely 'roided up by the aliens for the plan. The Finals were rigged in Luka's favor, it was all rigged in Luka's favor. Those drugs in Tills system, for all we know, can be keeping him alive. There is a good chance they don't want Till dead and that they're only faking his death for the sake of the... "special guests."

It might have been rigged in Luka's favor, but there's a good chance he might not be getting out of this safe, sane, or even alive. He may have captured the hearts of the segyein in Season 49, but he is still a human pet. He is still expendable for the sake of entertainment. None of us character stans, Luka stans, are off the hook. ALNST is not over.

EDIT: I would also like to point out that Luka was probably also on drugs. He was in hysterics pretty much the whole time. Luka is trapped in this cycle and is a pet, just like Till.

As for those "special guests," Mizi and Hyuna: there can be multiple ways this plays out, either Mizi goes against Hyuna, or Hyuna goes against Luka. We already had Mizi v Luka, so they wouldn't do that again.

As for the song itself, I picked up a few lyrics:

Luka: "Before this piercing, radiant moment fades away"

"Piercing, radiant moment" referring to Till and/or Hyuna being injured.

Luka: "Neither today nor tomorrow, exist for me"

"Exist for me" is a reference to Ivan's thought process in why he chose to die in round 6

Till (i think): "Blink and gone, relish the present"

"Relish the present" as in Till needs to live in the moment to survive, rather than to win. He is on adrenaline, drugs, and survival instinct.

Till: "Clear your mind, leave the burdens behind"

A reference to himself that he... basically needs to lock in.

Luka: "The dark crimson air embraces us, lifting our spirits"

Ivan reference, specifically Luka imitating Ivan

Till: "And the fiery thrill blazes out to the sky"

Now as for the meaning of the song itself, that could be multiple things:

Till realizing too late about Ivan's feelings and that he was wrong about his image of Ivan, "And in a blink, gone."

Till's life, "And in a blink, gone." (which is why i say he's dead and also not dead. He very well could be dead and just be brought back to life like the Sualive and Alivan theories)

I think the flashbacks to round 6 are pretty obvious in what they mean and what was intended for it to mean/symbolize, so I'll spare it.

OH YEAH and speaking of the alivan and sualive theories, those are a LOT MORE LIKELY after this. Because what was the point of Till's death... after round 6? Would they (Vivinos, not the aliens) kill Till off after what happened in round 6? Death is too easy. Death is mercy. Yes I wish mercy upon Till, but there are better ways to show him mercy with what we have without him dying. That being said, if he is actually dead. Like dead, dead, (i will kms) then at least he died where Mizi was the last thing he saw.

Mizi was the last thing he saw.

We might have been wrong about Till only loving the "image" of Mizi, but then again, maybe not. Again, Till immediately lit up at the sight of Mizi, recognizing her instantly. It gave him the motivation to continue, he didn't notice of care how different, traumatized, and worn down she looked. He only saw her. Maybe it wasn't her image he was fond of. Maybe he really did love her. But maybe he was also grasping at straws to survive and continue on. Maybe he thought he had a chance. Cause Mizi was also grasping at straws. As we saw in the flashback with Mizitill, they were definitely friends. Mizi might only see Till as a friend, but now both would only have each other left, plus Hyuna and the resistance. Mizi might not give Till a romantic chance, but they can be there for each other because they both understand what the other went through.

Also Issac and Dewey better pull through I swear to fucking god. WHY WERE THEY NOT THERE. If you saw my bingo card, I marked off Dewssac appearance, I thought I saw them, but I was seeing shit so ignore that.

Personal note: I was really. REALLY overwhelmed leading up to this. I lost a lot of sleep over the past 48 hours due to anxiety over this and I'm glad that it finally happened. I'm a lot better now that my anxiety and nausea is gone and even if I'm extremely... scared... for Till... I'm still hopeful that he's alive, and that sualive and alivan are real. Maybe I am delusional, but I mean, I enjoy the Actor AU a bit too much... so...

something to note with the fifth and sixth image is that there's another person in the picture with them. in the fifth, there's hyunwoo's dead body and in the sixth, there's a resistance member. in the fifth, hyuna is standing still as luka runs towards her. in the sixth, they're both running towards each other.

edit: this user pointed out that hyuna's act of running toward him was not an act of affection, but an act of protection. she knew he was going to get shot. even till the end, he was still her weakness.

also, what does this stare imply? it looks like she's shocked, but how could she be shocked at the sight of luka when she's already seen him in round seven? my guess is that she's shocked that he's still running towards her, chasing her love, after all these years.

edit: as seen by this user's post, hyuna is shocked because she knows that luka was going to be shot if he moved any further. she moved to protect him. oh god.

direct confirmation that hyuna was a competitor in the 49th season of alien stage. but given that this scene was right before this:

we can infer that this was hyuna's performance outfit. something went wrong when she was performing, most likely, the resistance destroyed the building and inadvertently caused her to lose her leg. they then rescued her and gave her the prosthetic.

what does this mean. does the rocket indicate that there'll be a new beginning? will mizi (and ONLY MIZI, because I'm holding out hope that luka will die as well) get on a rocket and escape from the aliens to another world where there's no segyein oppression?

and I forgot to mention that hyuna died from friendly fire. that. there's something to be said about how she's worked so hard to run away from anakt, from the aliens' oppression, she built up the resistance, and now she dies by the resistance's hand because her one weakness is till luka.

ROUND 7 THEORY.

Till is going to lose: and Hyuna won't be there to save him.

this is insanely long, hug yourselves

I. Hyuna won't be part of the rescue mission.

I'm going to start with the obvious: today's alien stage friday content that opened my third eye.

obviously, hyuna is.. suffering is an understatement right now, she appears in a lot of pain, having to lean on mizi to walk. not only this, but mizi is distressed too. she is looking back, and the warning:intruder sign is reflecting in her eyes. interesting detail I've seen: the screen behind hyuna I'd light, and I personally think it's Luka's promotional photoshoot we've seen in All-In. maybe a slight reach, and not a good point to base a whole theory I genuinely believe in on, but trust me, it all ties togheter: Hyuna is looking directly forward, towards a 'light', while Mizi is looking back, at a warning sign. So, Hyuna will go to their base, and Mizi will do the rescuing mission alone. This might sound stupid, but the AMOUNT of content I found that holds this theory is insane.

Speaking about All-In..

This is a promotional video for All-In. (Might be the teaser but I'm tweaking) Mizi is only shown in the car scene, where she's togheter with Hyuna. In the other parts, Hyuna is completely alone. This might not mean a lot, except that we have this official art:

Unlike the frame in the video, Hyuna is alone here, leaving dust on the on the other cars. Does this mean that she'll go alone? Perhaps leave alone? And there's even more I consider as 'evidence'.

In the cover of hyuna ver. of ROMH, she seems to be laying down, something that I don't think she would be able to do while still being in the ALNST building, and the splash on her face seems to be similar to the character's that have died.

As happy as this looks, again, Mizi isn't here. The rest of the rebellion is, and she's wearing the outfit she had on in All-In when making that video with the others. She's making a gun sign, something usual for her, she's done it multiple times all over. Is this foreshadowing of her being shot?

But this.. even though the backround is Hyuna, it's obvious that the hands are not hers because of the light skin. So is this Mizi that's trying to learn from Hyuna? Maybe because she has to do a mission without her? Back to the All-In teaser, we don't see who's holding the gun that flashes between the frames of Hyuna's hand making a gun sign. I personally think it's Mizi instead, since now she's learned how to fire. Afterall, in All-In, even Hyuna is surprised at her sudden fierceness.

Here, it seems like Hyuna is being announced something, while sitting down. But what could be so important that she is told with such secrecy? The only thing I can imagine is a rescue mission, but she isn't there herself.

In this art, Mizi is looking down, while Hyuna is looking up, with a stern face, almost monitoring. But where could Mizi be, so high up she has to look down, and so bright she has to shadow her eyes? This takes me to the next part of my theory:

II. Till is going to lose.

The light from above the stage in the Round 7 teaser is dark blue, but a specific shade that has been often associated with Mizi. Is she there, so that's why she's looking down? Also from the teaser, we have this (which I think was pointed out before):

The little gun aim light is pointed towards the stage from an alien that seems to have a guard helmet, and then a light covers Till. I think it's enough proof that something will happen to him, but I have more. So much more.. And yet, I think the other ones fit more into another category. III. Even though he'll lose, Till won't die. But he won't live well, either. I am not delusional, I genuinely think Mizi's rescue mission will go well.

Here, Till is holding a strand of Mizi's long hair, the hair we know is long gone. In relationship with the first category, Hyuna is the only one missing from this art.

I initially thought it was Till protecting Mizi from something, but no. I think it's Till protecting the image of Mizi he remembers from something he finds terrifying: and I think that scary thing is the real Mizi, the Mizi that exists now. It's a common theme that Till is only inlove with the image of Mizi, so what if that dissapears? I imagine he'd be terrified of that.

Here, the wire of Till's collar (that we've seen him wearing in round 7, too) seems to be blending with Mizi's hair, as if he is bound to the image of past her. (Since we know her hair is short now.)

In this, the tape is similar to the one that covered his mouth in Top 3, but here, his mouth is wide opened, the tape instead covering his name, as if his freedom, his own voice was given back to him, rather covering his branding whom is proof of ownership.

Here, the characters that are behind have died, and the ones that are holding flowers are the ones who love Mizi. But again, it's the long haired old Mizi.

III. Hallucinations

Alien Stage is about romance, and hallucinating your loved one isn't new in it. Mizi hallucinated Sua in Round 5, and Till hallucinated Mizi (again, her old version) after... we all know what I mean. Hallucinating has led to losing, but is this going to be the case in Round 7?

Well, yes and no. Yes for Till, no for Luka, and I think this aspect is the one that makes the most difference between them.

Let's talk about Till first. I feel like Luka won't genuinely see Till as a threat, especially after Round 6. I do not think that he will do the ROMH technique. And yet, I think Till will hallucinate Ivan in him anyways. Looking at Luka's stage smile and Ivan's default expression, they look very similar (atleast to me), and the white outfits might do it, too.

This particular image makes me feel like that. His fingers aren't purple, which, I don't know what to make out of it, but it's about the neck holding. Ivan always seemed to have something with Till's neck, and there's a lot of art to prove it. This is undoubtedly something that Ivan would do, and I can imagine Till hallucinating Ivan, or atleast, a warped version of him, in situations like this. Till is already in a bad place mentally, so I feel like such a thing would destroy him, even though he won't go down without a fight.

Onto Luka. I think hallucinating Hyuna in Till is inevitable: their energy is just incredibly similar. But unlike Till, Hyuna is Luka's motivation to sing.

In this comic, we find out that Luka doesn't truly like singing: his only reason for singing is (or atleast, was) the fact that Hyuna likes it. And again, unlike Till, Luka is obsessed with the stage. It's canon that he has low self-esteem, and that winning is his way of raising it up. I don't see him having a mentality like Till, but rather, one that sounds more like "Only I get to kill you.", so a competition against Hyuna would only make him more motivated. And so, I think that hallucinating Hyuna gets him even closer to a win.

IV. Till will escape: but at what cost?

Till knows that the last time he turned down escaping, it didn't go well. So, even now, with the new image of Mizi, even now, with Ivan dead, even now, when he's still holding onto an image long gone of someone he loves, he will accept, but without getting implicated into whatever the resistance does too much. Why? Because he thinks he has nothing left except his hallucinations.

V. Conclusion

I'm sorry for how long this is!! I've been thinking for sooo long... I really like how I've made this though, in the end. extra: In this official art, the characters that are slightly smiling are now dead (sua, ivan).. it doesn't really mean anything to what I said (I think), but I found it interesting :)

Hi! I hope I'm not too late to make a request but can you please do Alien stage main characters, mostly Mizi, Sua, Ivan, Till, Hyuna & Luka with a female reader who is like a mysterious human girl but she's trying to save the idols from death singing contest.

It's 100% PLATONIC & the female reader personality is mysterious, aloof, stoic, calm, composed but very EMOTIONAL because she failed to save them from their deaths(mostly Sua, Ivan, till & Hyuna deaths), failed to protect Mizi from the cruelty & failed to shelter Luka from evil persona, thanks to the aliens brainwashing Luka. Female reader is like a motherly figure & holds them on her lap like mother & child bond.

Please make it from angst to fluff, from hurt to comfort, despite the tragedy deaths & events. (Sorry about the long request because my grammar is poor).

(Also in Ivan's part it might say that Luka, hyuna and mizi are watching, but I meant it to be that they're watching through the TVS..)

Sua’s Death

Mizi doesn’t scream when Sua dies.

She just stands there, frozen, staring at the empty space where Sua once was. The stage is still lit, the cheers of the alien audience still ringing in your ears, but the only thing you hear is the hollow sound of Mizi’s breathing—shallow, uneven, like she’s forgetting how.

You rush to her before she falls.Her body is light as you pull her into your lap, but she doesn’t react. Doesn’t cry, doesn’t speak, just stares blankly ahead, as if her mind still refuses to accept reality.

“Mizi,” you whisper, brushing a hand over her hair.

She flinches.

“I should have been the one to die,” she finally chokes out.

You don’t let her finish that thought. You cradle her against your chest, pressing her close like you can shield her from the world. “Don’t say that.”

She doesn’t fight you. She just buries her face into your shoulder, gripping onto your sleeves as if she’ll fall apart otherwise.

“She’s gone,” she breathes, voice breaking. “She’s really gone.”

And you—who promised to protect them, who swore you wouldn’t let them die—you can do nothing but hold her.

Ivan’s Death

You don’t scream when Ivan dies.

You just kneel beside him, cradling his lifeless body in your arms, pressing a hand against his bloodied chest as if you can will his heart to beat again.

It doesn’t.

Mizi is sobbing somewhere in the distance. Luka watches in silence, unmoving. Hyuna stands frozen, her hands clenched at her sides, looking anywhere but at the body before her. Till stood there, horrified as Ivan bled out. He won, Ivan had lost.

But you—you just hold him.

Hold him the way you wish someone had when he was a child, when he was lonely and lost and trying so desperately to be someone worth loving.

“Ivan,” you whisper. “You weren’t alone.”

You don’t know if he ever truly believed that.

But at least, in his final moments, he wasn’t alone.

Till’s Death

You run to the stage when his voice cracks.

When he stumbles.

When his last, desperate note fades into silence.

But you’re not fast enough.

Till’s eyes widen when the spotlight dims, when his body gives out beneath him. He reaches for something—someone—but the only thing he meets is empty air.

Luka stands just beyond his grasp, eyes shadowed, expression unreadable. He didn't care.

Till falls.

You catch him.

His weight collapses into your lap, his body trembling as he gasps for breath. His fingers clench weakly against your sleeve, like a child seeking comfort. You press your forehead to his, fighting back the tears threatening to spill.

“You did so well,” you whisper, your voice shaking.

He exhales softly. A ghost of a smile tugs at his lips.

“Was I… good enough?”

You don’t let him hear the sob in your throat. “You were perfect.”

Till sighs. His fingers relax.

And the warmth begins to fade.

Hyuna’s Death

She smiles, even as she bleeds.

Even as Luka stands before her, wide-eyed and horrified as she collapses into his arms.

“I’m sorry,” she whispers, voice barely a breath. “For leaving you.”

Luka shakes his head, his hands trembling as they press against the wound in her side. “No. No, you don’t get to say that. You don’t get to die.”

But she does.

And Luka, the boy who was once hers, who she would have burned the world down for, can do nothing but watch.

You kneel beside them, reaching out, but Luka clings to her like he can anchor her soul to this world. Like if he just holds her tight enough, she won’t slip away.

“She wouldn’t want you to grieve forever,” you say gently.

Luka stiffens. Then, slowly, he lets go.And Hyuna’s body slumps against you.

You hold her close, resting your cheek against her cooling forehead, stroking her hair like a mother would a sleeping child.

“It’s okay,” you whisper. “Rest now.”

For once, she listens.

Luka's condition.

Luka is the only one left. (With Mizi and you.)

You don’t know if he can still be saved.

He’s not the boy he used to be—the one Hyuna loved, the one she would’ve burned the world down for. No, this Luka is a creation of the aliens, a puppet who sings for an audience that feeds on human suffering.

And yet.

When you find him alone, sitting in the shadows, staring at his hands like he doesn’t know what they’re for anymore, you kneel beside him.

He doesn’t react when you pull him into your lap, like you’ve done with all the others. He just lets himself be held, lets you stroke his hair, lets you whisper words that shouldn’t matter anymore but still do.

“You’re still in there,” you murmur.

He doesn’t respond.

But when you cradle him a little closer, you swear you feel him tremble.

And for the first time in a long, long time, you think maybe—just maybe—this one isn’t lost yet.

Mizi’s Breakdown

Mizi doesn’t cry when Sua dies.

She doesn’t cry when ivan falls, when Till's voice goes silent, when Hyuna bleeds out in Luka’s arms.

She just keeps moving. Keeps breathing. Keeps existing in the ruins of everything she once loved.

But then—She sees Ivan’s jacket, crumpled on the floor where he left it.

And something inside her snaps.

Her breath comes in short, sharp gasps. Her fingers tremble as she reaches for it, as she grips the fabric so tightly her knuckles turn white.

Then, without warning—

She screams.

It’s raw, broken, torn from the deepest part of her chest. She clutches the jacket to her heart like a lifeline, shaking, shaking, shaking as the weight of every loss crashes down at once.

“Why—” she chokes, her voice hoarse. “Why did they all have to die?”

No one answers.

Luka watches in stunned silence, his hands still stained with Hyuna’s blood. You kneel beside Mizi, reaching for her, but she flinches away.

“It’s not fair,” she gasps, her breathing ragged, uneven. “They should have been here. They should have—they should have won.”

She slams a fist against the ground. Once. Twice. Again and again, until her skin is raw, until the pain is the only thing anchoring her.

You finally pull her into your arms.

Mizi doesn’t resist.

She just collapses against you, fists clutching your shirt, her body wracked with shuddering sobs.

“I want to go home,” she whispers. “But there’s nothing left, is there?”

You hold her tighter.

“We’re still here,” you murmur. “Even if it hurts. Even if it’s unfair. We’re still here.”

She lets out a shaky breath. Her fingers loosen.

And for the first time since the stage took everything from her—

Mizi cries.

Your Breakdown (after Luka and Mizi had their moments, you broke down after.)

You don’t know when you hit the floor.

You don’t know when the sobs finally force their way out of your throat, or when the weight of all the deaths—Sua, Till, Ivan, Hyuna—crushes you.

All you know is that your knees buckle. Your breath hitches. And then—you break.

Mizi reaches for you first, despite her own grief, despite the fact that she hasn’t spoken a word since Till fell. She grabs your wrist, holding it like an anchor, her own tears spilling silently down her cheeks.

Luka watches, frozen. His hands are still covered in Hyuna’s blood.

Your hands are covered in all of theirs.

You try to scrub it away, clawing at your arms, your fingers trembling as you whisper, “I should have saved them. I should have—”

Mizi’s grip tightens.

Luka finally moves.

You don’t realize you’re shaking until Luka kneels beside you, until his arms wrap around your shoulders, pulling you close. Until Mizi presses her forehead against yours, grounding you, her fingers lacing with yours.

“We’re still here,” Luka says, voice barely above a whisper.

You let out a shaky breath.

“We’re still here,” Mizi echoes.

And so, you hold on.

Through the silence. Through the grief. Through the unbearable ache of all the ones you lost.

Because even if you couldn’t save the past—you can still hold onto the future.

The dead don’t come back.

No matter how much you grieve, no matter how many times you whisper apologies into the void, they are gone. Sua, Ivan, Till, and Hyuna—each of them left a hole in the world that nothing can fill.

But the ones who remain?

You hold them a little closer.

And When Luka finally, finally buries his face against your shoulder and cries—quiet, broken, but real—you let your own tears fall, too.

Because maybe, in the end, this is all you can do.

And maybe, just maybe, it’s enough.

Am I the only one drawing wicked parallels between them? And not just the fact that I'm jealous of their hair...

Spoilers for Alien Stage (through Round 5 to Weige)! Seriously, don't read if you haven't watched Weige specifically.

They're both very loyal to their friends and would risk their lives for them (and did in fact risk their lives for them). Baji didn't want Mikey to kill Kazutora over him, hence him stabbing himself. While Hyuna definitely hated or at least really disliked Luka, she wanted to let go of her hate. She was also probably very conflicted because they used to be close friends. Either way, she put herself in the line of fire to protect Luka from being shot.

This could also be aligned with them both being selfless. Hyuna's first action after escaping is literally going back to the Anakt Garden after losing her leg to try to free the other kids. She went back to the place that she'd just escaped from to help others, risking her own freedom and/or life on the process. Baji left Toman because he realized that he couldn't take down Kisaki without causing conflict with him and Mikey. He basically jeopardized his relationship with Mikey and the rest of Toman by joining another gang to find a way to get rid of Kisaki. To everyone else (minus Chifuyu), it looked like he betrayed them.

Additionally, they both have a wilder side and like to cause trouble. Baji is described as liking the thrill of adrenaline and Mikey says that he'll punch people and start fights for no reason, just because he feels like it. The two of them are both described as having smiles on their faces while fighting, even in dangerous situations like Hyuna's often in. She'll be blasting robots and blowing stuff up. Even when she saves Mizi in All-In (notably not Round 5, presumably because of Luka'a presence), she's grinning.

But despite having this wild side, they both care a lot for others, specifically their friends. Hyuna cared for Luka before he killed Hyun Woo, the three of them were really close friends. Hyuna also took in Mizi after saving her with zero hesitation, and she continued to look out for Mizi throughout the events they went through in All-In. In Blink Gone, she didn't want Mizi to go back to save Till because Mizi would be risking everything going right back to Alien Stage and could potentially get killed or get dragged back into the competition. Baji had a lot of faith in Ryusei and Chifuyu and knew he could trust both of them, and he knew he could let loose around them. Baji used Takemichi punching Kisaki as an excuse to leave, yes, but he was also saving Takemichi from a much worse fate because at that point, Takemichi (who iirc wasn't even an official member of the gang yet) had just punched the newly appointed third division captain. Baji mentions several times that he doesn't want to disappoint his mom, hence why he does his best to study. Not to mention that he was sending letters to Kazutora while the latter was locked up in the detention center, even though Kazutora had been the one to convince Baji to sneak into Shin's shop with him and nearly got Baji sent to the detention center too for Shin's murder. The only reason he wasn't was because Mikey testified for him.

They both died for people they cared about. Like I said earlier, Baji stabbed himself so that his death wouldn't be on Kazutora's hands and thus would get him killed by Mikey. Even though Kazutora had stabbed him earlier, Baji was still trying to protect him even though it meant that he'd die in the process. Hyuna, up until the events of Round 7 (at least from what I can tell), had despised Luka, but she was finally ready to let go of that. She took the bullet meant for him because deep down, she still cared for him. Her last words to him were, "I resented you so. I had to keep moving forward in every moment... but you were always my one and only weakness. That's why I resented you so. Luka, live with love. Embrace the pain, the frailty, and the moments so unbearably shameful. Forgive yourself... again and again, endlessly. Because everything... begins from there." She wanted him to lead a better life and used her last words to him to tell him that. They both cared and died for people that were very complicated and had some (putting it politely) issues to work through (let's not forget that Luka killed Hyuna's brother because he wanted her for himself and wasn't willing to "share" her with Hyun Woo).

I'm sure there's way more to analyze between the two of them but yeah, I'll leave it here. I just had to get it all out of my brain so I could take a nap.

Btw, in what circumstances did Hyun-woo die?

Bc the general perseption in the fandom is that Luka murdered him, and that's a possibility, but at the same time I think it could also have been an accident

In this official art we can see that the two fought (Luka is blushing so maybe to get Hyuna's attention idk) and apparently if we were to belive some artbook leaks, Hyun-woo was the first to approach Luka

So there are 2 interpretations that I can think of

The first one is the most known one: Luka deliberatly killed Hyun-woo to have Hyuna's attention and to leave a permanent mark on her

The second is that it might have been an accident: in the MV Hyun-woo died hitting a rock and his face is upwords so he either was pushed or he fell by himself

While Luka is bleeding on the grass next to him, so maybe they were fighting like usual

Luka is smiling, maybe bc now, like in the official art above, Hyuna will come to scold her brother and defend him, but right after that his eyes go wide, maybe he's in shock bc he didn't expect to find Hyun-woo dead next to him

Also we can also see that the little light on his collar is red, that might imply that he wasn't in calm mental/emotional state

So this is an hypotesis I was thinking about

Yknow, what hurts me the most about Luka and Hyuna's relationship isn't even the fact that after god knows how many years without seeing her, Luka's first reaction to seeing Hyuna again is to smile. Because he's so in love with her that the literal gun against his head means nothing, just the fact that she's there is enough for him, allows him to feel truly happy, and his first thought is probably something along the lines of I missed you or I'm glad you're here or I want to hold you, to hug you again. Nor is it the fact that again, despite however many years it's surely been since she last saw him, Hyuna's immediate instinct to seeing Luka in potential danger is to throw herself into harm's way instead, sacrificing her own life just to make sure this boy with so many health issues, this puppet of the aliens, can live for a little longer.

What saddens me the most about their relationship is the fact that Hyuna didn't hate him because she disliked Luka, she hated him because it was too dangerous to care about him. The only other person she ever loved that much was her brother Hyun Woo, and she watched him die in front of her eyes when they were all still children. This forced Hyuna to learn and accept that loving someone was too dangerous, risked both parties getting hurt whether with the intentions go hurt both or just as a side effect of one being hurt anyway. And so this other boy she loves, perfect, innocent Luka? What other choice does she have but to push him away to keep them both safe? She says at the end of Wiege that he was her only weakness, and I don't think that Hyuna meant because he was soft or weak himself (although that most likely is also true, judging from all his health conditions and etc), but because she couldn't possible bear the thought of losing someone else, and she couldn't let him get hurt from losing her like she was from losing Hyun Woo, either. She also said she had to keep moving forward, probably meaning she couldn't be held back by the fear or burden of caring about another as well.

So she's basically forced herself into hating Luka in order to protect them both, and I imagine she's managed to push him somewhere in the back of her mind for the last few years somewhat successfully, and yet. Yet she still rushes to save him when she sees that gun pointed at his head. She's injured and probably desperately needs medical care and is who knows how important a member of the rebels considering what we've seen her do for them so far and she still just runs as fast as she possibly can in that moment to move Luka out of the way and take the bullet herself. Luka probably wasn't even aware of what she was doing until the last second, when he was watching the life slowly leave Hyuna's eyes as he finally gets to hold her in his arms like he did when they were kids once more. And he will have to spend the rest of his life knowing that Hyuna's last action was to make sure he could live, knowing that her last breaths were spent telling him to forgive himself and live with love. And what do you do with that? When the one you love probably more than you even love yourself suddenly shows up out of nowhere and you can't even say a single word to them before they're just. Dead in your arms after literally giving more than they had to save you.

That's what hurts me the most about Luka and Hyuna's relationship. Despite everything, despite her best efforts, Hyuna still loved him so much that she sacrificed not only her own life, but potentially others as well if her role within the rebels or her knowledge was important enough. That Luka loves her so much he disregards his own safety to just rejoice in seeing her again. That he would've died happy knowing she was still safe, and yet she died instead so that he would be the one to stay safe, without even a second thought.

So unpopular opinion maybe, but I actually really liked Wiege? That could be just because I enjoyed the song but the amount of lore that they're able to give us in little snapshots is truly amazing. Hyuna losing her round, Hyuna sacrificing herself for Luka, all of the natural metaphors in the lyrics (the wings drenched with longing finally unfold, you'll embrace the sea that sings, etc), Mizi finally gonna go apeshit . . . I'm excited for what's next and I'm actually very happy with Wiege! Not necessarily happy that Hyuna died but uh thats more complicated. . .

One, it seems apparent that Luka killed the other clones of him? Which is both insane but also makes a lot of sense, insofar as his feeling of superiority towards them. It's a crazy thing to think about but it shows the way that he views most other living beings as chess pieces in a broader game, if that makes sense? He doesn't really care about people on a personal level, most often, and that's what makes Hyuna special. . .

We also get to see how Luka's love is both obsessive and possessive, the him kissing her wanted posted while in his room, (yknow the whole "your life is mine" bit from before) but we also get to see how Luka's love really is, in part, about seeking comfort from someone he loves. He leans into Hyuna while she cries, likely mourning Hyunwoo's death, and when he runs towards her, he's reaching out. It's strange how . . . earnest it is, how unadulterated by anything like possession or conditions. Not only that but Hyuna does seem to genuinely love Luka back, maybe not romantically, but she definitely cherishes him, which we knew before but it's still nice to see confirmed again.

Additionally, I would say that we get evidence that the fight that killed Hyunwoo, well, it was started by Hyunwoo. It seems likely that Luka did something to annoy Hyunwoo or did something that frustrated him, enough that Hyunwoo decided to get physical. I mean Hyunwoo doesn't seem happy about it, for sure. But with the framing, it makes me think that Hyunwoo was simply killed in a fight, most likely on accident- though we know that Luka has possessive feelings over Hyuna, from what we've seen of his past with Hyuna and Hyunwoo, he didn't seem to view them as that much of a separate entity. A lot of the shots where Hyunwoo is still alive, in Wiege at least, Hyunwoo is framed as positively as Hyuna is . . . which makes me think that Luka didn't kill Hyunwoo on purpose.

Then again it doesn't really appear like Luka knew what he'd done, in the aftermath. . .

We also get to see more glimpses of the kiddos at the garden which made me very happy!! I don't have much to say about it but I simply find it endearing to see them all together again, to have that confirmation that they really were friends, they really did love each other. Ivan bringing the others to take care of the waygein was the most interested of the "past" cutscenes to me . . . besides all of the Hyuna focused ones, that is.

Additionally, the snippets of a modern alternate universe, seemingly the high school au? or something adjacent to that, is so lovely, just to see them all happy . . .

I think it's so interesting that Hyuna sacrifices herself, fulfilling a pattern that we've seen before with 3 out of the now 4 dead characters. Ivan, Sua, and now Hyuna, all sacrificed their lives for a person that they loved. It's fascinating on a more meta level that Hyuna's sacrifice is the only one that isn't planned, she didn't intend to die for Luka today but she does because she doesn't think, she just knows that she needs to save him from being killed. I think that both of those forms of sacrifice are kind of lovely, they show the willingness to put your life on the line for someone you love (but sacrifice in and of itself is often a selfish act, and I'm definitely not saying it's heroic . . . just poetic).

Not only that but the rocket imagery behind Hyuna while she's speaking to Luka is so so strange. I don't really know what that is but I have one theory; "because everything begins from there." I think that the rocket, maybe, is representative of that first contact that humans had with the seygein all those years ago, the way that humanity got itself into this mess of slavery and suffering, and by extension, "everything begins from there." but that's my only real thoughts on the rocket . . .

man this is so long I'm sorry Geo . . . suffice to say, I actually like Wiege!! probably a weird thing to say but uh yeah, the song is lovely, the animation is stunningly beautiful as per usual, and the story is utterly thought provoking, I am rapt. The amount of lore we got in this episode along makes me froth at the mouth a little.

song analysis (or an attempt to), analyzing the lyrics and visuals, spoilers for round 1, yapping, mentions of suicide, 862 wc

[a/n; soo... i woke up one day and decided to analyze lyrics and made this mess of a piece LOLL]

I'm probably reading too much into it but notice how sua appears first then afterwards mizi, this might be a showcase of who will be up first in round 1 but I think it's the order of death. so, between mizi and sua, sua dies first. also, the color animation for sua is a bunch of bright colors outline transitions to blue outlines. mizi's color animation is her color scheme outline then transitions to being fully colored. this could either be a reflection of their personality or a foreshadow for the outcome of round one (a lack of colors could mean a lack of life).

(sua: I don't have any words anymore. it has no meaning, even that blue night in the splendid lighting)

this feels very vague but since sua is singing this song i interpret it as sua finding no meaning in life, finding no words to express the lack of meaning there is to this life (of being a pet to the aliens).

(white dress dyed red)

pretty easy to understand, sua wears a white dress to round 1 and that white dress gets dyed red (or her blood) because she lost to mizi.

the person in frame for this part is luka, this could mean during that it was his first-ever win in alien stage. which makes sense cause he looks younger and apathetic.

till is in frame for this part, the lyrics for this can be taken literally as he's tied up very thoroughly. we know he often defies the aliens orders/commands, leaving him beaten up and tied up. he's being "hugged tight" by the restraints and left alone "as if nothing happened".

(it's just sweet dreams, it's today, wait for me. i'll go see you soon)

hyuna is in frame, she's trying to light a cigarette but then an image of her dead brother runs behind her. i think this is her telling her brother "wait for me when i die i'll go see you soon".

we know that after a song is played, out of two people one will die. i think sua is pleading to god or whatever divine deity out there to "save me" (essentially us, the characters trapped in this alien stage).

i'm guessing this is a religious chore going on? "father" is what christians call the lord, and he's the reason the universe was made (at least that's what i think they believed).

she's asking either to take child sua away from the garden and alien stage OR she's asking to take her current self away (because humans are much smaller and weaker than compared to aliens, both figuratively and literally).

i wouldn't be surprised if children here sometimes take their own lives because of the abuse and neglect they get from their alien owners. i don't know much about the terrain in the garden but there's probably at least a high enough cliff/hill to jump off and die from. or it could be what ivan's alien owner did to him in round three where they dangled him off the roof of a building near the edge. OR  it could be referring to the floating platforms of the stage when you sing against another person.

sua is shown when the lyrics say "now i live in darkness". a reflection of how she's been living her life, in the dark with no meaning. mizi is then shown when the lyrics say "bring me brightness" since sua is singing this, it probably means how mizi gave light and meaning to her dark and dull world.

this could mean the cheers when aliens hear the humans sing, so its like show me that you're listening to my song and are gonna vote for me ig

ivan and till are shown when "live in darkness" is played, the background color consists of blue, and blue is associated with darkness depending on the context, and blue is also associated with sadness. darkness and sadness sometimes go hand-in-hand so this might be a reflection of their story together. 

hyuna and luka are shown when "bring me brightness", hyuna seems to be in rage at luka (seeing as she's holding a dagger against him) and luka seems to be happy. anger and happiness are more expressive emotions, meaning they're a lot "brighter" than if you were to feel sad. plus the colors associated with happiness and anger are also bright colors (red and yellow).

first of all:

WHAT ON GOD'S FUCKING EARTH DOES THIS IMPLY???? does it mean that the luka we know killed all the other lukas??? it looks like he hit a switch of some sort, causing all the other lukas to spill out of their pods and presumably die. we've all been saying that the other lukas died because they weren't perfect enough, but what if they were killed accidentally, by our luka's negligence? there's also green shit all over them, someone said that could be alien blood, so what's the implication there? does hepuru have something to do with them all dying as well?

these shots were beautiful. I love hyuna. and it shows her reminiscing about the times she spent in anakt.

edit: someone said that the top image is her with the rebellion members. she's smiling in the first one, because she cares about her fellow escaped humans, but she'll always value the time she spent with luka more.

this is depressing. it's already probably been stated, but this is the only way luka can ever see or touch hyuna after she went rogue.

people have also already said that this means that originally, sua had the black dress and mizi had the white one. does this mean that the aliens originally thought that mizi would look better in white because white = innocence and mizi is the most innocent anakt contestant? and then does that mean mizi gave sua the white dress because white = holiness and sua is her god?

also been said, till is spray painting his shirt because he's a rebel and he always does things his own way.

this is presumably after hyunwoo dies. hyuna is obviously in shock and she's crying about hyunwoo's death. but luka is happy. he's happy that he now gets all of hyuna's attention, that he can be the ruler of her heart the way she rules his heart.

this is a picture presumably drawn by hyuna, given how only she and hyunwoo have eyes, and how she's the only one who has a mouth. however, an interesting thing to think about is that this could be a callback to this:

notice how hyuna is the only one who has her eyes and mouth uncovered. hyunwoo has his mouth scribbled through, while luka doesn't have a face at all. this could imply that luka was actually the one that drew this picture.

what's interesting about these photos is that this shows that human connection wasn't just limited to our main six. there were humans all over, in the slums and anakt, connecting with each other and finding the reasons to live in each other. and I think that's beautiful.

now, this interesting to me because what I immediately thought of when I saw this alien was Cerberus, the three headed dog to the underworld in greek mythology. this could imply that this alien serves as a guard for anakt, making sure that no kids escape. however, Cerberus has three heads. this alien could have three heads, but only two are picturesd. however, there is also a two headed dog in greek mythology named orthrus. what did orthrus do? guarded cattle. yet another reference to how humans just animals in the eyes of the segyein.

now, this scene. it has a possibility to be connected to this scene:

where there is AN ENORMOUS FUCKING BEETLE ON LUKA'S HEAD. I think this is the direct reason for why luka killed hyunwoo, hyunwoo hit luka on the head to kill the beetle, luka hit him back because he didn't understand what was going on, hyunwoo's head got smashed into a rock, and luka smiles and goes "oh well, less competition for hyuna's love."
