Writers are just fundamentally incapable of envisioning a society where the assigned ‘feminine’ traits and careers are actually idolized and valorized, and where the assigned ‘masculine’ traits and careers are demeaned and dismissed.
Like a matriarchy would probably still have majority male military! It’s just that all the generals and politicians would be women!
Most cops would probably still be men! But police chiefs and detectives and judges and lawyers would be women!
An actual matriarchy would not be coming up with ways to biologically force men to have kids or to handle all childcare. Childcare workers would still be majority female, and would get the kind of admiration and respect we reserve for engineers and doctors.
Pregnant women would be catered to, men’s role in creating life would be minimized and dismissed, and the role of the father would be downplayed and mocked. Birth control would be free. Abortions would be incredibly easy to obtain. Single mothers would not be looked down on. Etc.

Hi bb!!! I've officially finished my exams and I have a holiday break so I'm feeling happy!!! I saw another anonie sending asks so now I have to up my game 😌(jk)
I had some questionssss
-Has hima ever been an mc on mubank before? and if so who was her partner/s
-I was rewatching teez's performance on MMA and I was wondering if the fans cheered really loudly when mingri's part came
-How do the stylist like to dress hima up? Taking in consideration that she's the only female idol in KQ plus in ateez they probably doll her up
-idk if this is weird but I feel like mingi and hima probably don't give a f anymore about their closeness after becoming publin and I'm talking about shamless glances and smirks
-would hima rather know what the future's holding for her or go back in time and change something in her past
-can I request so soft mingri moments I'm in my feels because of the weather🥹🥹
Ily so much bb, take care and eat well mwahh!! 💓💓
Hi sweet!! Congratulations, now you can finally get some more than deserved rest!! 😘 I actually still have one ask to answer from that anon but i got writer's block for it 😭(ANON IF YOU'RE SEEING THIS I'M WORKING ON IT DON'T WORRY!!)
• Our little social butterfly was an easy choice for Music Bank and they paired her with Sunwoo from THE BOYZ since both have a similar outgoing personality (it was also after Kingdom : Legendary War so it seemed like a natural pairing)
• Oh definitely! So many Atiny have been talking about wanting to see that part live so they were screaming their lungs out. Since it's a big award show they didn't kiss but Mingi took her chin in his hands and turned her face back to him, making her lose the stage demon facade for a second because she was so flustered
• Hima has had several stylists since debut - the first stylist respected the maknae's wishes and dressed her the exact same as the members (she left after becoming pregnant). The second would put more feminine spins on the outfits but they were still a lot more masculine than other girl groups (she was fired following Kingdom as she forced the maknae to show her scars). The current stylist is fully leaning into her charm, at times making her look more tomboy-ish but still keeping her delicate image, other times making the outfits are fully feminine. As Hima got older she's also begun to dress her in more chic clothing, enhancing her maturity without making her seem too old
Her favorite events to dress Hima for are award shows or concert encores because she can put her in dresses, cute shirts, legwarmers, put cute accessories in her hair, etc., (she loves dressing her up like a cute little doll). She gets kind of sad during Versace events because it's often the house's stylists or Donatella herself that dress her so she can't be the one to put her in all those intricate corsets or silky dresses :(
• They really can't find it in themselves to care anymore, there are so may clips from lives where she's sitting on his lap while wearing one of his boxers, she even brushed a hand across his "belt" (guys I swear it was the belt, guys....) during one of their concerts and stuck her tongue out at him while he was left blushing like an idiot. When there's some kind of innuendo these two are the first to look at each other (well actually sometimes it's Wooyoung and Hima and they can't help but to laugh their asses off)
• Hima isn't worried about the future, so she would rather turn back time; she would change the way her younger self viewed the accident. Of course everything was caused by grief, by her young mind being unable to understand everything going on around her, but one day she got angry at Hanzo after he had finally come out of his room to make her food as an apology. Hima had been dealing with so much at the time - solitude, Yoongi's mental health, the hardships of accepting new parents, her hearing disability that made every day more complicated, etc., - so everything blew up on him. The poor girl wasn't angry, she was in distress, she broke down crying and said things like "why did you abandon me ?" "you promised you would always be there when I needed you". If she could go back in time she'd make herself realize that Hanzo was suffering just as much as she was
• Of course you can! After Mingi sent the Fromm messages in which he expressed his intention to marry his girlfriend, she called him down onto the floor and began painting slivers of smoke along his bare arm - unfortunately he let his impulsive thought get the better of him and he smeared paint across her cheeks, which resulted in the two of them play fighting while trying to get as much paint on the other as possible
After Himari sent the Fromm messages revealing she was now studying Brain and Cognitive Science at KU, Mingi was having trouble taking a much needed nap so he pulled her in between his legs (on a bean bag) and she finished her study session tucked against his chest while his head rested on top of her own, sound asleep
At home she often forgets to put her hearing aid back in after a shower so when Mingi approaches her or is in the room, he moves with heavier steps so she can feel the vibrations or sends a series of one letter messages so that her smartwatch will vibrate several times (she learned to take that as a sign), so that she doesn't get startled because she didn't hear him
I always look forward to your asks!! ILYSM too Mina!! Make sure to rest plenty and have lots of fun now that the hardest part of the term is over! MWAHHH take good care of yourself 🥰🩷

wait I'm dumb 😭 can you explain what you mean with the femininity post? specifically about Drew and his awkwardness around women, like do you mean in kayfabe or?
hello! you are so not dumb at all; i was intentionally not clear. but thinking about it i do want to share this so thank u for giving me an excuse to do so LOL here is the drew mcintyre feminism essay you didn’t ask for. special thanks to my darling finance and phd grad in drew studies @paladinofmoonlight who read it over and who i plagarised for some of this
to begin with: the unspoken part of that post is that they are both mocked and ridiculed for expressing 'femininity' in their own ways. people smarter than me have written lots on seth and expression, so this is completely about drew with just some relationship to him sometimes.
the second part: i point out seth's overt, conscious expression vs drew's covert, subconscious expression because everything i talk about here i firmly believe drew doesn't even realise is happening. hes just doing all of this subconsciously LOL
the short explanation: a lot of drew (and seth's!) femininity is perceived. in actuality, what is referred to as 'feminine' about them is judged deviation from a norm, which for seth is his queerness and for drew is his foreignness + neurodivergence (and also queerness but like fork found in kitchen)
and the long explanation:
its fun to read drew in wwe as someone who is trying and mostly succeeding to live up to an american ideal of masculinity. his first run is full of moments where he is considered less 'manly' (being called young lady, joking about the kilt as a skirt, his long hair, hysterics, his sudden favoured position in the company, 3mb, etc). and it is fascinating to see how he deliberately tries to combat this visually in his second run.
i think a big part of drew is that he is so intrinsically defined by his mother; you cannot separate the love and respect he has for her from anything he does. she is his first and biggest idol, before any famous male wrestler or celebrity, and that is such a core aspect of his entire being. and then he comes to the wwe from a foreign small town (the culture shock of leaving ayr, scotland sounds funny but i promise it's relevant), with this deep sensitivity towards women (in particular, disabled women), and experiences the demeaning misogynistic culture of the wwe in the late 2000s firsthand.
this is why i think it’s important to point out that drew is being ridiculed for societal femininity; this is a perspective very different to his upbringing as someone who idolises women in his life. difference is punished by allusion to being womanly, which is undesirable and lesser. his heritage is mocked as feminine (the kilt is a skirt joke haha funny), he is misgendered (diversity win! the cis male is forcibly referred to as a woman to degrade him!), his outbursts are childish and irrational (and WOMANLY). even though he’s the chosen one, the one who doesn’t HAVE to prove himself — i’d argue that this also came with a lot of implication about drew that normally happens to women (and this is something that also happens to seth); being chosen for his looks, his ability to be manipulated, humiliated, etc. it also, like what happens to seth, establishes him as expendable.
here’s where kayfabe blurs galloway and mcintyre a little bit more: he’s a victim of domestic violence that leads to his divorce around 2010/11. multiple fans discuss and ridicule him for not fighting back, for being a sissy, for being less of a man. i don’t think it is unrealistic at all to attribute this to his sudden lack of direction, role as a jokester in 3mb (a sort of humiliation to someone who only ever wanted to be a serious wrestler), and his eventual release.
after drew’s release (which is a whole other can of worms) he starts to build himself into a very masculine figure — literally. darkening his hair (the blonde helpless woman vs the tall dark and handsome stranger), building muscle and holding his stature very differently, etc. he’s now authoritative, a real man, not some sissy from scotland but a highland warrior. and this presentation of drew mcintyre is extremely careful. everything from the way he walks to his voice is very, very carefully done to exude masculinity. no longer does his voice crack with emotion; which he barely shows outside of anger or glee. you can throw the kilt as a skirt line at him now (and they still do) but doesn't it feel sillier when he’s built like a bear? now, he is there to prove that he IS what the wwe wants, wholly and completely.
but this is where drew is wrong; combatting it visually doesn't seem to change how people perceive his behaviour. drew is extremely careful not to cry on camera, even leaving an interview when sheamus starts making him tear up (about his mum! always his mum.). all that work since 2017 to be a masculine ideal, but as soon as he starts exhibiting destructive behaviour every possible perceived fault is dragged out by the audience and wrestlers alike, and inexplicably, framed as feminine.
now, when he waves his hands, pouts, and giggles, all these mannerisms are suddenly labelled as negative (queer, psychotic, and therefore, in the wwe, unspokenly 'female') when it comes from him. the man who is so careful to hide his tears, so careful to perform masculinity, is told he cries too much RIGHT AFTER a promo about how it’s okay for men to cry! he’s called a crazy-ex girlfriend (twice!), obsessive, bitchy, hysterical, hypocritical — all of which is dismissive language commonly used against women (particularly against disabled women, do you see where i'm going here), and it is both fascinating and horrifying to see this openly and unquestioningly applied to a cis male wrestler by everyone. wwe is so misogynistic that even a cis, white, handsome man straying even minutely behaviourally from the 'manly' norm is treated and viewed in a feminine manner. i jest but he really does have female rage LOL they really said drew you're a crying, emotional, whiny, unreasonable little bitch, like a WOMAN (unspoken but implied).
this is a buildup of something larger; the automatic othering of anything different, and the perception of any undesirable trait as feminine in the wwe. both drew and seth have very similar pasts as victims of manipulation by authority figures who come out of it with unpalatable personalities, mental issues, and no support for any of their trauma. it doesn’t absolve them of all wrongdoing, but it is a larger critical view of the company that they both are now specifically vilified through what wwe perceives, overtly or not, as womanly behaviour in their identity. seth embraces his and uses it as a weapon, while drew builds up his masculinity to offset it. so to come back to your ask: its not drew being awkward around women. he's the opposite, actually. it's about him looking at his performance of masculinity in wwe and his genuine respect for women as capable equals, and deciding that it doesn't suit to mix the two. he (like seth) is already punished enough for whatever behaviour of his the universe decides to code as feminine, and i think that is a sadder comment on what wwe’s treatment of women is than anything to do with drew's individual character.
#anon#ask#me and my fiance to each other as i write this: you're not insane. and neither am i.#unrebloggable as usual but i would love to hear peoples thots in comments :'3#drew mcintyre

LMFAOOOOO RUBYYYY that ask ab ur mommy!hwa series 😭 i mean i kinda get that there might be lots of people like that person who may be uncomfortable about 18+ fanfics but like????? idk why they take those seriously, tbh. it's literally a FANFIC. i dint think those that u write fanfic for would even take their time looking their name up especially here on tumblr. it is very easy to scroll away and let other people enjoy the things that they do.
is it invasive to write stuff ab how he is in bed according to his birth chart? not really but quite? however, i dont think it's something people should take too seriously. astrology is fun. his chart is literally out there for free lmao. u're doing us (whose knowledge ab astrology and stuff isnt broad) a favor. it makes us curious.
and if it's a genuine concern, idk how hard it is for that person to use a tad bit nicer language. fuming mad for something they put themselves into ijbol like plsssss do urself a favor and as per their language, scroll the fuck away???? bahdhshshsh
GENUINE QUESTION THO: what does "mommy" mean when u use it to hwa? is it also like daddy but since hwa is intuned to his feminine side, he's more of like a mommy than daddy? LMFAOFI3IJRKGJJT SORRY I JUST DONT UNDERSTAND ITTTTT : (((( coz i havent read such fic w the same theme— using mommy to a male subject. hope i dont sound rude. ><
and.. pls post more about seonghwa's natal chart observations because i enjoy yours so much. they're very detailed and i resonate with it well since i almost have the same chart as him (as i was born 8 days after him) so yeah!
LOVE UR BLOGS SO MUCH! <3
Hey! The response to this ask is legit over a year late but better late than never and I have been excited to reply to this one for awhile.
For context, this was sent after I was sent a hate anon ask in my inbox stating that I was gross for calling Seonghwa 'Mommy' and analysing his kinks in my natal chart reading.
I just don't understand why ppl won't take the easier route and just scroll, like you're expelling unnecessary energy writing and I'm expelling unnecessary cognitive energy by reading it.
The 'should ppl write smut about real life celebrities' has been a question asked for literal DECADES now and i'm always on the belief that if you don't take it srsly- it's all good.
I just watched an interview with Ryan Reynolds who admitted to reading the smut ppl have written about him and loving every second of it-
If the celebrity I wrote fanfics for actively said 'I'm uncomfortable with ppl writing smut about me' then I would respect their wishes and not do it but until then, I'm going to keep doing it.
Besides, the members of Ateez know about the fanfics written about them from that time San googled actual fanfiction on Naver in one of his lives.
And so I think they're all probably okay with it and too worried about being an idol to care about atiny's writing smut about them
I personally think my smut fics and readings are on the same level of invasiveness as 'the way I would let this man *redacted* *redacted* me'- like it's okay to say to Atiny's but maybe not so much to the members.
(although if the members read my natal chart readings I would love to get their opinion).
MOVING ON!!!
'Mommy' is just another authority title you would use in the same way as you would call someone 'Daddy', 'Sir', 'Master' etc.
It's not an age-play/age-regression thing at all and ppl confuse the two, I'm personally not into age-play/regression- it's not my thing.
For etc, my fics all use the term w/o de-aging the reader in anyway.
I wAsn't the first person who has affiliated 'mommy kink' with Seonghwa, that title goes to @hongism when I read her fic many moons ago and was in love with the concept.
I just found that the title fit with Seonghwa in such a beautiful way with his caring but dominant persona and I found it's a great way of dismantling gender norms and expectations surrounding masculinity.
In terms of not finding other male idols who have been called 'Mommy', there are a few Mommy!Hyunjin ones (I've written some too) and he's a popular idol for the concept too but there are other idols I've seen such as Lee Know and Mingi.
If you go on my blog and type in #mommy!may there are SO many fics I've reblogged where the mommy kink is used for all your smutty needs.
That's so cool you're born in 98 as well! I was born in April too so I completely resonate with parts of Seonghwa's natal chart as well.
In terms of more 18+ observation...uhh I'm not 100% certain that Seonghwa is low-key an exhibitionist but with his Aquarius Venus and the fact he looks at Atiny's with such a lustful gaze when he performs...
The chances are pretty high.
#anon ask#answered ask#mommy seonghwa#mommy!seonghwa#park seonghwa x reader#seonghwa x reader#seonghwa smut#park seonghwa smut#ateez hard hours#atz hard hours#astrology ask#aquarius venus#i wouldn't be surprised if after a concert he gets so hard he has to rub one out in the bathroom you know?

can you share your thoughts on the guilty promos? the outfits, the themes, the performances etc.
suuuuper late here anon, this has been in my drafts for ages, i'm sorry!
i can, but i make no promises that my thoughts will be anything interesting. i'm not really operating at full function at the minute, but, this ask has been sitting in my inbox for a little while now, and i feel bad.
so - i had to catch up with his performances and stuff for this, because i hadn't watched them all, but i have now, though i will admit, i'm not up to date with every single bit of promo he's done.
to start. outfits. now, i'd say they've been quite eclectic? in terms of? overall style and execution.
i think we've seen a few different sides of the taemin stage fit spectrum with this promo season. a few of my fave:
the culty uniform:

this was such a simple look but i really loved it. it's the fact that all of his dancers are wearing the exact same thing. not slightly more feminized versions like they usually tend to.

like, it's more of a totslly genderless vibe, in a different way to how taemin usually does it. his looks tend to be more of a straddle between tradition masculine and feminine styles, whereas this is neither. i think it's super unique.
and also, because it also is very fitting for the themes of guilty, and the music video. the themes of forced conformity ect. i find it really impactful for such a simple fit, paired with the 'no makeup' make up. it has layers. possibly my fave from his stages.
i have to talk about the fit that went viral lol

see, this is some standard taemin fare. the vampire vibes. lace, ruffles, victorian-esque, masculine and feminie touches. gloves. all around a good look. and it casued a little bit of hysteria too. very fitting for guiltys vibe. if it were anyone else, i'd actually say it was a publicity tactic lmaooo.
a few others are, the military-esque look he did, with that boxy black coat, the fuzzy jumper that he aldp wore to the fansign event, and the all white one with the rips, and drapes, and cut-outs (which is veeeery key during bad love era).
overall, i think the styling is really cool, and though it has some very taemin elements, and looks that we're used to seeing on him. it still is kind a new vibe for him? like, idk, it's giving more gritty dystopia. a slightly rougher look for him than we usually get with his solos.
still gender non-conforming, but yeah, rougher. dare i say, edgy?
taemin, usually has quite sleek and put together styling. this feels more chaotic, and thrown together, almost like something his ragtag group of escapees have rustled up themselves.
like the denim skirt look! i don't know how to explain it, other than that look gives me king of the junkyard vibes.
again, so fitting for guilty.
i'd also like to talk about the make up
like, on one side we have the cunty alien look from his the rizzness performances

because????? what a loook! obsessed actually. the make up, the nails, the baggy all black fit with the over the top gold accessories? so good. i really loved all of this looks for this song.
buuuut, he also did some really soft looks too which i loved. either pink blush right under his eyes, or just in his lids, with a bit of glitter. or, a total no make up look like i mentioned before.
almost 'clean girl makeup' but i really fucking hate that term.

the contrasting looks do it for me they really do.
something something "on that vague border between good and bad" something something.
and this one.

this fit was a grower for me. but now? wow wow wow. there's levels to this.
in terms of the overall promo, i think it's suuuuuper interesting, that's more focused on one, taemin's vocal ability, and two, how respected and loved he is as a veteran idol.
it's so great to see so much focus on his vocals because, they do tend to get overshadowed by his dance ability. he did killing voice! like, it's a crime that shinee or a member has only now been in killing voice but ok.
his musicality has been at the forefront this era.
and, wow. the videos featuring all his fan boys.
this was a taemin request, i'd fully believe it. he wants to feel loved and desired by boys, and he got his wish and them some with this promo.
i've never seen another male idols promo revolve around his desirabilty with men before. it's actually so interesting.
like taemin loves to perpetuate the parasocial realtionship with fans, we all know this, but, he's been doing that more on lives and stuff? lije more one-on-one fan interaction.
whereas his actual official promo has been all about how he's the 'idol of idols'. it's a unique approach.
um yeah, i think those are most of my thoughts about guilty era.

I don't know how much I buy that TERF-ism is purely just Conservatism dressed up as Feminism. I feel like that's a perspective that doesn't want to admit that particular political leanings can lead to bad things Certainly the idea of "Cultural Christianity" - This idea that there are unaddressed ideas which emerge from conservative communities, which are then 'inherited' by less conservative spaces - is to an extent true. There are a number of problems we see which could be viewed as emerging from this tendency, in particular the way a number of left-leaning spaces have of late enabled a lot of people who view others as dangerous perverts, and support censorship because of that... But it seems like a robust view of feminism would show that certain subsets would always have leaned in this direction, pretty much of their own views I look at some of the fringe subsets of feminism - such as Goddess Worship - and it's like... Alright, so "Goddess Worship" was/is this fringe new-age religious cult which roots itself in 19th century archaeology and radical feminism. There was an archaeological theory at the time which was noticing a lot of pre-Roman Empire sculptures of women in Europe; so it was proposed that these represented a wide-spread 'Universal Goddess' that was worshipped by all these groups but fell out of favour. This was a 'serious' theory in the 1800s, to my understanding, but eventually became discredited. Goddess Worship ran with this fringe theory despite is already being outdated at the time, and expanded it - The belief was not merely that the knowledge of The Goddess was shared among tribes of Europe, but over the entire world as an understood belief. The reason no one ever heard of it was because of the Patriarchy - (Here presumably envisioned not as an invisible set of rigid societal expectations but rather as an active conspiracy to keep women subservient) - which destroyed knowledge of The Goddess in order to replace with masculine idols such as the Christian God. Since masculinity, to this worldview, correlated inherently with things like war, sexual oppression, etc, the goal was sorta to revive this 'golden age' of feminine ideals such as love an harmony. Now... This is all very absurd. But what it's selling is a very familiar conspiracy theory - this idea that once upon a time Your Identity was glorious, but a conspiracy of the evil Other Identities destroyed that. You see this kind of thing in a lot of really strange, really fringe, conspiracy-aligned beliefs - Hotepism, Nazism, et al. But out of that, you are also seeing Femininity and Masculinity as things seen as innate and inherent in a worldview like that. That brings to mind the same kind of hard distinction between men and women you see out of some modern radical feminist movements... And it's just like... That's just one of the more out-there beliefs some feminist-aligned groups had. It's not always about gender equality - feminism is a complex political movement with a lot of subsets, not all of which are inherently agreeable or correct. Goddess Worship has since been sorta cut with some new agey/very liberal beliefs, so what it could have been has been largely de-fanged, but you can absolutely see how this kind of thing much more often leads to far-right beliefs about a supernatural identity With ideas like this about, and formative in some respects, it sorta just feels like subsets such as the TERFs were more-or-less inevitable. These aren't conservative ideas that have 'infiltrated' feminism, but rather a natural evolution of many or the more fringe and extreme feminist ideas

nnnnnnn feeling incredibly motivated to write an entire academic paper about masculine vs feminine gameplay styles
#me to myself: it's a tv show..................#but if you consider 'masculine' gameplay as more aggressive gameplay#like winning immunity finding advantages playing idols etc#and then consider 'feminine' gameplay as more social oriented gameplay#like forming genuine connections establishing trust making people like you when they get voted out#men are more likely to have a masculine gameplay style because society socializes men to be more aggressive#while women are more likely to have a feminine gameplay style because society socializes women to be more relationship focused#then there are obviously women who have more masculine gameplay styles and men who have more feminine gameplay styles#but the most frequently rewarded gameplay strategy is the masculine gameplay strategy#which obviously has been employed by most of the male winners#but also a lot of the female winners#so a lot of it comes down to the complete undervaluing of the feminine gameplay style and seeing it as less 'amazing' than#the masculine gameplay style#which is just like inherent to society and therefore survivor and therefore puts women at a disadvantage#maybe masculine and feminine are like the wrong terms to be using idk#there's something there! i just don't know how to articulate it!#but i'm sick of men winning and women only winning if they play aggressively!! respect social gameplay too!!#nnnnnnnnnnnnn k it's literally a tv show i'm moving on#stan michele.

WayV the Rolls Royce of NCT like saaaame lmao i love NCT but WayV like wow.
WayV are definitely the exclusive and "high-end" brand of NCT. If you liken NCT Dream to the BTS/Disney demographic, NCT 127 the more experimental and "adult", WayV are certainly in a category of their own.
Should you watch this fancam? Yes, yes you should.
youtube
WayV (WēiShén V) are C-pop, Chinese pop. They're on Label V, the Chinese sub-label of SM. I think one could argue they are a C-pop/K-pop fusion, and that's quite interesting in itself. The active members are Ten, Kun, Winwin, Yangyang, Xiaojun, an Hendery.
Essential song: Take Off (2019)
youtube
Their music has a sexy sophistication to it, along with their concepts. Ten's auteur-level dancing often sets the tone for their impressive performances. Album designs also reflect this "special" brand image.
There are two things that make WayV life a little difficult imo. 1) The on-going tensions between SK and Mainland China and b) Lucas-gate.
Popular Korean entertainment, including K-pop (the music), was banned from distribution in Mainland China for six years. It was only in November 2022 that K entertainment started to stream on Tencent once again. The ban was believed to have started due to the US missile defense system installed in SK in 2017. WayV is C-pop, so they circumvented this ban, but their Label is still owned by a Korean company.
There is also a culture of conservative backlash against fandom in Mainland China. This came to a head with the Yi/Zhan Ao3 fanfic debacle, but it had real-world consequences.
Fandom is big business in Mainland China. I'm sure this is why SM is interested in working in this market with a C-pop outfit, given that tensions haven't eased quite enough for K-pop groups to re-enter the market with tours, fan meets, brand ambassadorships, etc.
The culture of fandom backlash is against morals and consumerism in general. I'm not an expert, but my understanding is that there are laws now in place to limit fandom activities and that stars are legally responsible for their fandoms' actions through their studios (even idols need to set up studios as business fronts for their work). Anecdotally, I've heard of things like teachers getting fired for mentioning actors or idols or using them as examples in teaching.
One of the rules that came out of new legislation in the past couple of years is the limitation of "feminine" looks for men. Essentially, the flower boy K-pop look was effectively banned. Traditional masculine aesthetics were expected, and for quite a time, many who used to have flower boy looks reverted to the opposite. I think it's cooled a little bit, but it's still not what it was.
So imagine being WayV amid all of this political and cultural tension. You're a C-pop group whose "parents" (NCT) are K-pop. That's... not gonna make anything easy. I've heard that WayV fans are unsatisfied that the group don't get to do enough Korean content during their comebacks. Yet, I think it's a game of chess for SM and Label V. They want to do enough to make a splash but they don't want to make such a big splash that problems are caused.
The second challenge, and probably the more immediate one despite all of the above, is the Lucas situation. WayV should be further along and have more albums/releases under their belts by now, but the indefinite hiatus of Lucas seems to have extended to WayV in some respect. We don't know what goes on behind the scenes. What we do know is that there is enough evidence that Lucas was shady, and that he probably won't return. WayV have now come back as a 6-person group, so I can't see them reverting.
If you're not sure what happened with Lucas, you can read about it here (just use a translator browser add-in). The allegations were gaslighting and financial exploitation, which are quite serious. In cases where the claims are unfounded, SM has stated such and pursued legal action. That's not what has happened here; instead, both Lucas and the company issued apologies for the wrongdoing, which is indeed admitting wrongdoing.
My bottom line on WayV? They've been dealt some difficult cards, but their music and performance are outstanding, so over time, I think they will continue to attract attention and convert fans. They've just announced a global fan meet tour, which will be a huge treat to all those who have waited so long for them to return.
#wayv ask#wayv#I really like them#xiaojun really wants to join my bias list too#lol#I hope they'll have more frequent releases now#kpop#cpop

Sorry for ranting but I've to say, No jimin doesn't need screentime editors are providing him to shine.
He constructed his ' loyal fanbase ' from his talent and personality.
We knows who he is and he doesn't need to appear infront of cam every 2 secs to prove it.
I don't worry this affecting his solo stuffs one day.
He will still win with flying colors in his solo stuffs also. His filter has never left the charts , his promise is the most streamed song in SoundCloud , his self produced song is now selected as ost , all songs he have written and composed are so pure and lovely like Christmas love.
He and his performance captivates the eyes and heart of audiences. Jimin effect exists for a reason. Animal or human , Man or woman, old or young. Even if you are a hater you will secretly admire his performance ( the worst scare of tae solos and taekookers , watching all jimin fancams and disliking it , buying views for fancams by giving it as ads. No jm doesn't need it , he get organic views for his performance. His solo performances - techniques and flow and rhythm are studied by rookies )
He lives to perform and cherishes his work and fans so much and 100% gives hardwork for it. His filter is the most viewed solo work in mots 7 concert , IT WAS SO POWERFUL.
He is selected as the most reputed idol for almost 3 years straight now for a reason. In Gallup and in brand reputation.
He is the most mature among members ( along with namjoon ) , his love for his members, he includes whenever he feels one is feeling aloof like the times when Tae was feeling sad in 2019-20 period he was always encouraging him to talk to him and hanging out with him etc . He is always there for people who needs him not thinking how they treated him (good part is he knows who genuinely loves him and not using him for his stardom ). Jk have said JM is there for him since early days ( even when JM was a newbie trainee) , RM told JM knows him the best , hobi told JM was the 1st one to take care of him, Jin goes to JM or talks to him when he feels trouble , suga who cringes at hugging have no problem jimin hugging him or holding hands and JM was the 1st one to call him during surgery and JM was also the one remembered him to have a phone conversation while they were receiving award without suga.
He is so sincere, yes there will be a difference between them off screen and on screen , but whenever he speaks he speaks from bottom of his heart ( his speeches are praised by knets always ), he have tried to set a good example almost always not getting to issues woth others or scandals. He always share how he feels to us.
He was the 1st to call out the toxic masculinity existed in band before asking what is a real man? He came out of his shell bh gave him in debut years and became whom he is comfortable in (not bothering if society will call it feminine or weak , he drew a bigender tatoo to himself not bothering what his conservative country has to say about it , wearing bold eye makeups or feminine section clothes or accessories not bothering others opinions on it , later some other members also followed )
He is so humble and respectful to everyone on or off cam. You can just watch run episode where one of gamers said Jimin took care if them very much or one of their crew in billboard and dior stylist told he have such a great personality and best personalityin BTS ).His childhood friends and classmates are still his friends. He is a magnet for other idols. Bts Backdancers LOVES him lmao , carrying him and clapping for him.
He is known as charity angel for a reason. There are numerous examples of his donation to kids health and education etc. Animals treats him like a snow white and feels so safe with him , running back to him.
He is an incredible human being and a pure soul People who have a heart and eyes sees this and obviously he will be selected as most reputed idol among all 1000s of male and female idols.
He have given us his palate. cutie , sexy or lovely , if you have brain select all 3 and gets the best out of him bighit .
You wrote the thoughts of his every true army in a concised beautiful way . The man who just captivated eveyone in just 30 seconds in 2014 MAMA and again in 2018 MAMA ,, doesn't need company projected propaganda to form a narrative inside the fandom. His power is beyond that
So proud and thankful to him

(Part. 1) Hey! Not really a question but I just wanted to share this since I saw the anon talking about "gay energy" coming from JM. In the lgbtq+ community, there are a lot of stereotypes, especially about how one's femininity or masculinity defines their sexual orientation. With jm, I've noticed that a lot of "locals" assume that's he's gay/queer bc of the way he might "look" or his mannerisms (although we know how locals are towards korean idols in general).
Among the fandom (not specifically jikookers/taekooker, etc.), it's also been an "on going" (if I can call it that) joke that JM is attracted to men (I mean, there's a bunch of videos and I honestly enjoy them bc I find his behavior amusing and he doesnt hide the fact that he finds some men attractive). I get how assuming somebody's sexuality can have a negative affect on the person (especially men who struggle with their masculinity or people in general who are surrounded by people who are against the community, in which case it can actually be dangerous for others to "out" them when really, they're not apart of the community).
An example of sexuality jokes (that sounded wrong) gone too far is Shawn Mendes. He had to repeatedly deny the fact that he was gay and people openly ignored him and continued to insist that he's not straight. That's crossing the line, imo. Now, when I see how strongly some people attack others for saying innocent stuff such as "confident gay" or laughing about how JK is in love with x member (Namjoon, for example), it just irks me. I feel like that's just as bad as what happened to Shawn Mendes, but the other way around.
I mean, imagine being a closeted gay and all your fans are getting angry at others for making innocent jokes about "being gay" and saying that such a thing is "bad and disgusting". It makes me so angry. I can't really properly formulate what I mean. I know that we shouldn't assume others' sexualities to begin with, but the response to even the tiniest mention of the possiblity that one of them isn't 100% straight is honestly just sad. Thought I'd share to see how other people feel about this bc sometimes the homophobia is real.
I’m with you. There’s definitely a balance that we need to be aware of, but ‘assuming sexuality’ does go both ways. There’s a myriad of cultural reasons behind the passion toward these topics, and it’s a really complex and sensitive topic because of this. I think in general we just have to all have a little bit more kindness and compassion for each other, and respect our artist’s wishes if they ask us to stop something.

Im gonna come to you for this because you're honestly like an idol to me (Im sure you hate to hear that lmao) and I feel like you would understand. You're non-binary right? I can't remember if you spoke about it but you use "they/them" pronouns and Im gonna assume that for the sake of the question. Either way! I've been questioning identifying as something other than cis-gendered. How did you know? And have you told people? What's the difference between relating to and empathizing with a problem
oh my god klsnalksm;lakdns;am i’m so honored thank you, but really i’m no one to idolize i’m an unemployed adult who is stuck in life who makes jokes and shit posts about fictional cats but thank you sidjk;lsz;
sorry this took so long to answer i was too tired and i wanted to think on it for a while so i can answer everything well and be at least hopefully a little organized and my answers/explanations to be legible
also this is getting long so i’m putting the rest of this under the cut wheeeeeeeeeeeeee
Yes! I am (at least partially) non-binary, I’m genderfluid and for me in particular I’m a girl sometimes, both a boy and a girl mixed together, and something in between all at once and at different times depending on who knows what, i’m like when you put soda in a cup and then put all of the different fountain drinks in at varying amounts and you do that each time you go to the restaurant but with different amounts of each soda, but like it’s USUALLY a pepsi base
anyway, it took me a long time to know, or i guess realize that i wasn’t cis because i guess i didn’t know i could? but in hindsight there were a LOT of signs and starting when i was 17 i think i started dipping my toes in different gender identities after i found out about the term “demigirl” and that’s what i kind of stuck with for a while
and then i questioned myself like am i really trans? i’m afab and identify as a demigirl does that really count (yes it does) but anyway after i went to college i was like no i think it’s just because several of my friends were questioning their gender, i’m a girl, and it wasn’t until a couple years ago that i finally FULLY realized “no, my gender is fluid, and i am a girl PLUS somethings between boy and girl and sometimes they all mixed together, sometimes all at once, sometimes individually (though very rarely FULL boy)
some things that i recognize in hindsight were signs (or were just weird foreshadows/coincidences of me being a mix of genders and it’s amusing now) include:
-when i was like 7 or 8 or 9 or something i made an image of what i’d look like as an adult in my head (or just older since in my fantasy i was 13 years old because that was obviously old enough to be a billionaire and own a castle and adopt children and a million animals and be a pokemon master, but i thought of an adult body) and my face was pretty feminine but my body shape was very masculine, flat chest, rectangular body shape, wore men-styled-ish jeans, and thickish arms
-in 7th grade for “some reason” i spent several moments thinking about what would happen if one day i came in as a boy named michael (since that’s kInD oF the “male” or “masculine” version of my name) and if like they’d recognize me or if they’d change my name on the registration or if anyone’d get confused or anything, this was also the year i found out that sex changes were a thing, i think, either 7th grade or 6th grade
-and the big one(s) for like my ENTIRE LIFE, even to this day, i would feel so confused if a girl talked to me like i was another one of the girls, specifically if they would like ask if their shirt tag was poking out and asking me to fix it, or ask if their bra strap could be seen through their shirt, asking me if their hair or clothes looked okay, asking to walk to the bathroom with them, GOING to the girls’ bathroom in general, chaning in the girls’ sometimes even being called a girl entirely, etc. made me feel
weird
like an “i’m not one of you” or “i’m not entirely like you” feeling and i thought that it was just because i’m awkward and shy and anxious that i went into the wrong room and then later oh i’m just gay and then to my realization: “oooooooooooooooooooooooooooh that’s why” and “oh, i was anxious i went into the wrong bathroom/changing room, but i also felt like i shouldn’t be in that room anyway because i’m not just a girl or not entirely a girl”
i also have and had a lot of dreams where like i was either a guy, felt almost genderless entirely, or where i would for some reason go into male bathrooms/changing rooms even though i’m not a guy (entirely or mostly)
also i i realized my favorite shirts were the ones that made my boobs look smaller or less existent, my voice would confuse me, either it being too high or low and make me confused uncomfortable because it “didn’t fit” my gender, and sometimes being called a girl or someone saying i looked like a woman made and makes me uncomfortable, and i guess the most nsfw/graphic part of this is that sometimes i fantasize and/or wish i had like
a mix of genitalia and i wish i could change my breast size and upper body shape to be flatter/more rectangular, but it’s mostly the genitalia thing, the body shape changing parts don’t happen ALL the time and not as much, but still sometimes especially if i see someone’s more masculine body and i’m just like “wow i wish that were me”, though being overweight kind of helps in that because my body shape looks more neutral, if i was thin i might have more problems with that
also, especially lately for some reason i get very irritated or uncomfortable if certain people call me a girl or she/her, very certain people i’m okay with calling me a girl and she/her but to people i don’t know well or aren’t super close to i don’t want to be referred to as she/her i don’t want to be perceived as she/her i want to be referred to as they/them
a lot of people have much more intense feelings and it’s more obvious, but they can often times be a lot more subtle and it’s okay if you don’t have INTENSE feelings of dysphoria, there’s also gender euphoria, which i think i, personally, experience more than dysphoria
i like it when people act or refer to me gender neutrally, i like it when my chest looks flatter, i like it when people use they/them for me, i like it when i feel content about knowing that i’m not cis and that i’m a mix of genders, i like thinking of myself as a gender mutt/mix or whatever, it feels GOOD, euphoric
i guess it’s hard to tell if you’re empathizing or relating, and i can’t tell you which one it is since i don’t know the particulars and i don’t know you, but what i DO know, is like 99% of time, if someone has to ask themselves “am i cis?” or “am i straight?” the answer is “no” because cis or straight people almost never even think about it or question their identity and even if the answer DOES end up being “yes, i am cis” then that’s absolutely perfectly completely valid and fine, you figured out who you are and you were in a mindset and in a safe enough space that you could figure it out for yourself and find out more about yourself
and finally, as for the telling people thing, it depends on the situation, i don’t really talk about it in real life, none of my biological family knows because my parents have shown pretty transphobic and nbphobic tendencies and if i told my brother or his fiancee then they’d start treating it like it’s some special thing and basically do that straight people thing where they like overcompensate being happy for you or supporting you or where they start talking about their other friends who aren’t straight or aren’t cis and famous people or characters that aren’t cis or straight and like i can’t deal with that
all of my friends know though, and i’m open about online and i don’t have any significant other(s) to tell but if/when i get in a relationship and on dating apps i’m explicit that i’m non-binary and genderfluid and basically not cis and before i get in a relationship i plan on talking to them about it and being like “hey if you see me as a cis girl this will not work out” they’ll also have to respect my sexuality of course and see me AS bisexual and demiacearo, not straight if i’m dating a guy and not a lesbian if i’m dating a girl, never date someone who doesn’t respect your gender or identity or doesn’t see you as who you are, or won’t let you have some wiggle room to let you figure out who you are, so that’s an extra piece of advice there for ya
i hope that made enough sense! sorry this was long and i might have blabbered on, but i hope at least some of this helps!

Reinforcement of Gender Stereotype’s through Children’s Television Programming
Young children are very impressionable, they can easily be persuaded to think and act in very specific ways. These behaviors can be learned through what children are verbally taught or through other means they enjoy and figures they admire. Some of these behaviors relate to social norms and what can become stereotypes. A huge stereotype that ravages society today is based on gender and the differing expectations of men and women. The behaviors and beliefs children develop in their early years are characteristics they take with them for the rest of their lives, which can include the gender stereotypes they learn throughout childhood. The things young kids learn become behaviors, and further reinforce components of societal and cultural norms.
Children adopt beliefs and behaviors through numerous mediums. The most influential, however, are through the people who raise the children and other people who are often around them, as well as media. Media today is so developed and spans across so many that the impacts it makes on people, culture, and society is incredible, making it so it has “a lot of power to endorse stereotypes” (Mass Media, 2). This generation born into and growing up with such an immense amount of technology and media are learning how it works at a younger age, leaving them to be more impacted by its effects in their future. One of the most widely used forms of media for children is television. Children watch TV for educational and entertainment purposes, but regardless they form a bond with their favorite characters and absorb real concepts and ideas that they then bring into their everyday lives. Young kids watch so much TV that “they spend more time watching and interaction with screens than in any other activity and they learn from TV about societal values, who matters in society, what one can aspire to become etc.” (Staff, 2). Television as a “communication medium is the most important tool in the socialization of children” (Wallner, 1) because they want to embrace the characteristics of the characters helping them form friendships and relate to others. Seeing that one of the most prominent relationships they have are with screens, the impact children’s programming has on their physical and cognitive behavior only intensifies.
One of the biggest influences television has on young kids, and on culture in general, is its portrayal of men and women, and the different gender stereotypes that accompanies. Gender stereotypes have existed for many years and resulted from norms within society. These beliefs are passed on generation to generation because “gender role stereotyping is a belief that is learned” (Wallner, 1), whether it be reinforcing women as housewives or cultivating the hypermasculinity attitude, the portrayal of these stereotypes are ingrained in the impressionable minds of youth impacting their thoughts and behaviors carrying-out into future lifestyles. A number of studies have been conducted analyzing the extent gender stereotypes are present in children’s programming and exactly how kids interpret them and utilize them in their own lives. Two specific studies resulted in opposing results, one showing significant gender stereotypes and impacts on children’s behaviors, and one showing a lack of stereotypes in children’s programming. One study, Playing Princess: Preschool Girls’ Independent of Gender Stereotypes in Disney Princess Media, conducted by Julia C. Golden and Jennifer Wallace Jacoby, Psychology professors at Mount Holyoke College, analyzed how the idolization of Disney princesses’ young girls have impacts their behavior in play time and how to define beauty. Another study, Gender and Emotion Stereotypes in Children’s Television, conducted by Professor of Psychology at South Dakota State University, Rebecca Martin compared the expression of a variety of emotions between male and female characters in eight different children’s television programs. Although both studies agree that the programs children view have serious impacts on their beliefs and behaviors, the two demonstrated varying amounts of stereotypes.
Golden and Jacoby’s Playing Princessdemonstrated how specific behaviors portrayed through television or movies can have a real impression on how young children act and think. Seen in “their 11 officials princesses, Disney circulates powerful and consistent messages regarding gender norms and roles” (Golden, 299). Many young girls idolize these figures, wanting to be like them, considering their physical and emotional characteristics as ideals. Unfortunately, the way the majority of these princesses are presented shows a “strictly one-dimensional vision of femininity and a rigidly defined set of gender roles” (Golden, 299). The values and norms shown through these characters are teaching young girls, deliberately or not, that these are their expectations and the proper behaviors of young girls and women. The reason these principles are transferred so well is because of the relationship the young girls have with the princesses, they see them as friends and role models whom the girls look up to. Modeling the princess’ behavior occurs because “it’s important for kids of all ages and identities to see themselves reflected in the media they view” (TV shows), their lives feel validated when they can see a resemblance between themselves and those they look up to on the screen. This modeling stems from a connection they feel with the princesses but results in practices that restrain the way they play.
Through play observation and interviews 31 preschool girls between the ages of 3 and 5 were analyzed to examine the weight they put on the respect and adoration they had for Disney princesses. Through the examination four themes presented, beauty, a focus on clothing and accessories, princess-like body movements, and the exclusion of boys. When the young girls are pretending to be princesses they place a huge emphasis on their physical appearance, commenting on how the dresses make them beautiful and holding their postures in very specific ways (Golden, 302-308). The young girls are emulating the behaviors they learn from the princesses. The resulted behaviors are a reinforcement of gender stereotypes, presenting very specific ways women should act and things they should do. The young girls are provided with “ideas of a princess as a poised, though passive observer” (Golden, 310) which then is how they behave when playing princess. These stereotypes are reinforced into their normal behavior and beliefs they will take into adolescences and potentially even adulthood.
The ideas young children learn from such behavior that the princesses exhibit can have serious effects on them in their later lives. Gender stereotypes, as seen in the way Disney princesses are portrayed “do have a negative effect on girls’ and young women’s mental health” (Golden, 300). Living up to the expectations of the Disney princesses is unrealistic, and the continuous want to be like them will take a toll on the girls’ self-image and confidence. Along with that, carrying these beliefs through life will prevent them from achieving their true potential because later in life, the girls who embrace these gender stereotypes more often “believed that women should avoid leadership roles” (Golden, 300). The behavior seen in young girls in Golden and Jacoby’s Playing Princess stems from a complete idolization of the princesses, but the behaviors those characters exhibit impress serious gender stereotypes onto the young children which they then carry throughout their life, impacting the view they have on themselves and reinforcing gender norms throughout society.
Dr. Rebecca Martin’s study, Gender and Emotion Stereotypes in Children’s Televisionexamined a number of television shows and how they depicted the emotional responses differently between male characters and female characters. The majority of television characters today are male, representing 64% of characters (Staff, 2). This is significant because it leads children to believing that males are the dominant figures and who should have all of the power. The presentation of more male characters than female “reinforce[s] the idea that masculine traits and behaviors are more valued than feminine traits and behaviors” (Watching Gender) Additionally, many stereotypes surrounding men and women are the emotions that are socially acceptable for them to express. The way children’s television character’s express emotion can seriously impact how kids perceive the expression of emotion and how they view those expressions based off of sex.
Analyzing four educational programs; Dora the Explorer, Little Einstein’s, Magic School Bus, and Barney and Friends, as well as four entertainment programs; Spongebob Squarepants, Mickey Mouse Club House, Clifford the Big Red Dog, and Curious George, the study looked at a multitude of aspects. First, comparing the number of male characters versus female characters, regardless of whether they were human characters or not, and tracked how often each character exhibited some sort of expression of happiness, sadness, anger, or fear (Martin, 505). The findings of this study were interesting because although there was a greater number of male characters across the eight shows, they showed a less significant case of gender stereotype in that the male characters showed all four emotions more often (Martin, 508). It is much less common for men to demonstrate emotion, this counter-stereotype could be progressive, showing kids that all people have emotions and that it is okay for everyone to express them.
The two studies demonstrated variances in the presentation of gender stereotypes through children’s television. Playing Princess: Preschool Girls’ Independent of Gender Stereotypes in Disney Princess Mediadepicted high levels of gender stereotype that were evident in children’s behaviors whereas Gender and Emotion Stereotypes in Children’s Televisiondid not express as high levels of gender stereotype. Although the studies demonstrated varying degrees of gender stereotype, their arguments were very similar. All researchers saw some amount of stereotype and sees a direct effect in children who view the content and their behavior. The programs children watch impact their behavior and outlook on life positively and negatively. Some negative impacts could range from “how girls should look and behave to how seeing violence can affect boys’ belief about themselves” (Knorr). The gender stereotypes depicted through television influences children and their behaviors in the present, but also lead to specific mentalities effecting future achievements and reinforcing societal structures surrounding gender and expectations of both men and women. Young children are so impressionable what they learn from things they watch and the people surrounding them formulates who they are as people and what kind of life they live.

notes on Ai Candy members' pronouns and speech patterns:
Akino talks like a modern teenage girl in casual settings, and humbly and politely with industry folks. plenty of aizuchi. as her idol persona is basically her natural self, she uses atashi onstage, in interviews, etc like she does with family and friends. quite respectful when first meeting a reporter, photographer, fellow entertainer, etc; will call hir lastname-san or, if she doesn't know hir name, anata-san.
Marin uses keigo at all times and never uses any first-person pronoun other than watashi. when she tries to use slang she sounds like a character in a 90s sukeban show or something. knows all the readings of all the words, and uses way too many kanji when she writes. her own autograph is her full name in legible kanji, top to bottom (she practiced being able to write it quickly for a long time).
Sayu tends to mirror her conversation partner's tone, and generally has little trouble hitting the right balance of not too uptight and not too rude. prone to slipping in double ententes. she's also the one who laughs at bad puns. used to use atashi, but switched to watashi full-time when she accepted her role as the big sister of the group. if she uses a second-person pronoun it will pretty much always be anata. could probably successfully impersonate any of her bandmates. loves it when people speak in their native dialect even when it's not considered professional.
Kazuna talks like a typical friendly edokko. a little less formal with management than akino is. refers to herself as atashi or sometimes watashi; was considering switching to boku to diversify the group before minoe joined as the official ore.
Minoe uses the roughest, bluntest, most masculine speech, barely stopping short of ore-sama. simply can't use teineigo. they stopped letting her answer the phone at her office job. people assume she's picking a fight. loud voice, too. short sentences. oi! ha?? some of her fans probably fantasize about her shaking them down for money.
Kozuki always uses feminine speech, but sounds haughty rather than humble- atakushi, obaka-san, kashira, etc. she initially used atashi; atakushi is her playing up the character, but she quite likes it. like marin, she knows a lot of big words, and has also picked up some foreign slang as a model. if she were to speak harshly to someone, she'd use anta or hir last name without an honorific, as opposed to minoe's teme and omae and kisama. also disinclined to use uchi, ostensibly because she doesn't like to speak for anyone but herself, but more because she has a hard time feeling connected with the rest of the group.

I wouldn't even care if wonho was a high maintenance boyf tbh I'd just sit and comb his hair all day and tell him he's pretty
hdjkfh this was so long ago but i think i was mostly kidding abt him being a high maintenance bf... like he would do so much giving? but i guess the only thing he’d need is constant reassurance that his s/o loves him imo jfdhgjk... i also think he’d b someone who either doesn’t settle down ever or does it very late in his life!
annie 🌹literary queen ❤️ literally crowned with a laurel wreath! not be drum attic but this midsummer nights monsta au is so!!!! give me sistar as the four star crossed lovers then drag me to h*ll and give me this doctor faustus au i'm itching for with kihyun as faustus and k.will as mephistopheles bc i love to watch my faves s*ffer but don't let me rip until i get my much ado about nothing au with the entire cast of starship ent and a lil cameo from giriboy!
(in refence to this monsta x as shakespearean archetypes ask!) fjdshgkjs shh i lov u... why is k will as mephistopheles so Accurate esp no.mercy k will lmao. um u should write all of these? in fact if... if anyone has mx literary aus.... hmu...... i’ll n*t
another thing about that incident is that it seems like the fan doesn't think Changkyun and Jooheon undersood them?? (an extension i guess they assumed they don't understand english very well) and that's pretty problematic. it seems to me that when they didn't respond the fan assumed they didn't understand and kept repeating it, as a joke. but they literally did That to the two with the most proficient english in the group... it's rly a mess all around. it's disrespectful through and through
(in relation to that gross “d*ddy” incident from a while ago) ik i feel like some intl fans think korea is a land completely culturally and linguistically alienated/divorced from the rest of the world or something and while cultural relativism is real to some extent... the idea that koreans are completely unaware of ~outside~ things is deeply racist. like mostly white ppl think that diasphoric poc are completely Different from them? when my mum went to the states 15 years ago some ppl literally asked her if there were newspapers in china lol...
i just randomly thought of monsta x as sesame street characters mostly bc i wanna see kihyun and wonho duke it out as bert and ernie (kihyun w/ the waste paper bin on his head and wonho asking 'where's the waste paper bin' and kihyun saying 'ask me that again and look into my eyes') and also minhyuk being elmo tbh...
JKGHKJDF PLEASe!!!! when will something like this b photoshopped... minhyuk as elmo is... spot on... i remember once elmo appeared on a now-discontinued late night talk show program i used to watch when i was in primary school and he was like “elmo likes wasabi, that’s why elmo has no eyebrows” and idk why ive never been able to forget this????? very lmh. also this made me think of a monsta x muppets au n minhyuk is the pic of ass-gape kermit.... next post of mine will b monsta x as kermit reaction pics
Hyungkyun is such an under appreciated ship. Like, they just get each other so well? Why do people overlook it. ㅠ.ㅠ Do you have a moment that made you ship them? How would you describe their dynamic?
it’s bc they’re intp x intj they don’t rly... Understand each other with minimal effort/real communication lmao it’s very efficient. both quiet lil darlings who aren’t emotionally That Open but enjoy their own little space together sometimes?? their dynamic is like... they’re weird in different ways but they’re v chill together. u can tell hyungwon is super fond of changkyun like he has this Expression when ck does anything at all.... i think these two rly love each other’s personalities bc they’re both kind/gentle/peaceful types and their overall ?? vibe is just highly compatible... they’re absolute darlings... v soft together... i can’t think of a favourite moment but i rly rly love their birthday messages for each other last year like changkyun’s message for hyungwon was like “ur rly cool bruh ur rly such a great person” and hyungwon’s message for changkyun was rly... just him obviously doting on him n finding him cute jksfdhg i lov them a lot :(
soyou: i know how to make hair pretty :))) knetz: dirty fckn iljin why can't she be out there being being PRODUCTIVE in society by having babies and learning how to be a good wife for her future husband ://// smh how dare she be successful now when i'm stuck doing what society wants me to do but also anonymously attacking ppl i don't personally know on the internet bc THATS respectable the irony of ugly knetz is so transparent
The whole thing about Knetz and wonho's "scandalous" past reminded me of something. As a PSA to those people who are so insistent and pushy that idols aren't allowed to have sex/date/be anything but straight: Fuck all of you. You do not own these people, and if you really cared about them you'd be happy if they were happy. Like tbh, if anyone that famous and busy could also balance out a relationship at the same time, I'd be so happy for them. It really bugs me how all idols are supposed (1/2)(2/2) have this squeaky clean innocent image where they have to look and act a certain way and have these stupid fucking dating bans because once they don't meet up to that image their success suffers. Idols already give up so much privacy, and the last thing they need is millions of people scrutinizing every little thing they do. I don't even know where I started this rant from, but basically, GIVE IDOLS PRIVACY AND DONT JUDGE THEM FOR THEIR PASTS OR FOR BEING IN RELATIONSHIPS OR WHATEVER
yeth ty for highlighting the gross obsession w purity and productivity (like the first anon said -- a very confucian sort of ideal)... i don’t rly have anything else to add here i think. also i would fight for soyou i fact i would fight lmh who said she was his ideal type in no.mercy era... she’s rly one of my faves and the way she was slandered for the hairdressing thing was one of the most ridiculous things knets ever did lmao honestly yuk
u a kihyun stan now👀👀👀
im a @fhiz stan it’s the same thing tbh
ahh so i saw your tags on that jh gifset! as one of the few jh stans (or maybe there are way more than i think there are lol) i rly love his "reversal charm." he has a lot of what i lack as a person: a strong presence and a lot of confidence! i respect him so much as a person alth i rag on him a lot LMAO. sorry if this is a bit long winded but i just rly wanted to put this out there ;;
this is rly cute i lov hearing ppl talk abt their faves lovingly it rly... Heals Me. i think it’s strange how underappreciated jooheon is in this fandom especially bc he’s usually the one who catches ur eye first bc he’s so hyped by starship as being a one-in-a-million talented rapper u know? and he rly shines in mvs and no.mercy but............. y does he have the least fansites jkfhdg ?? you’re v right abt the reversal charm thing but i feel like sometimes it’s very overdone like... on lots of shows he’s asked to do aegyo when rly he should be asked to... idk... rap or dance or something?? i actually think jooheon is the most serious member of monsta x sometimes bc he seems to have a sense that he’s.. the pillar of mx if that makes sense? and that’s why he’s always pushing himself and working tirelessly like he feels very Responsible for this group, more than anyone else. idk if that makes sense!!! i love him and i want him to... unwind a bit bc sometimes he looks so stressed and tired but he still feels the need to pretend to be energetic like my heart rly hurts for him :/ this got so emo im sry i do rly love to hear that u respect him sm i love jooheon stans :(
i can see what u mean about jooheon being 1 of the most masculine. (iirc u also talked abt kihyun being that in a post a while ago) like with his face and his physique he really is striking; his body=like that slim,upside-down Y that you'd learn to draw men w/ in Anatomy 101 , but i think.. ,--not that u asked, but,, i think the jury's still out on if he's comfortable w his masculinity with the way he acts feminine lyk misogynistic comedians Can sound like dead ringers for women,? idk & i take +
(not sure if there was a 2nd part to this? there’s nothing else in my inbox so i’m sry if there was and tumblr ate it) yeth i think i meant that his demeanor is the most ~~masculine~~ whereas i think kihyun is still the most... idk... mature-masculine?? if tht makes sense, and i definitely agree w u on that second point! i didn’t think of that at the time but now that i... do... think abt it... ur right and also the way he comes back from it by putting on the >swag demeanor again in an attempt to polarise it is definitely a bit 👀👀👀 he probably doesn’t want to risk his Manly Rapper Image for real u kno? that said it’s ingrained in kpop that behaving cute --> “girly” entails that sort of “comedic” high-pitched voice + compact body language etc.... like i’m not condoning that ofc but i definitely think it’s broader than this particular case! :/ hm
maybe i'd be doing better in school if i could major in kihyunology ;~; i stan him but i def think we still don't know much about him even after all this time after debut. especially when i look at him compared to wonho who wears his heart on his sleeve (bless him i love wonho sm, gotta protect this bun at all costs!!)...but ya it just makes me wanna learn more about him like who is the real kihyun??
i want to write a kihyun meta when i have time... i feel like i Get him a bit more these days but it’s also very hard to put into words bc u kno when u kinda sorta mb get some1 but it’s a feeling rather than anything conveniently expressable gkjdhfjk.... idk if anyone wants to send in some Kihyun Thoughts + Meta feel free! :>> i don’t think he’s actually... as complex as we sometimes make him out to be lol like his behaviour is actually kind of predictable? more on his later
wait is the february comeback actually true? ugh i'm so conflicted cuz on one hand i'm excited if there's really gonna be a full length album, but i also think they need more rest but then there's the matter of getting their first win and idk i'm super psyched but i'm also worried that the boys are being overworked
i still feel like they had a comeback like yesterday lol like looking at their schedules stresses me out bc they do so much..... im glad wonho got to go to his mum’s cafe recently tho! all we can do is have faith in them rn and when it’s time... stream, buy things if ur able to, spread the news and the hype etc. i am definitely Worried abt some things like the competition they’re up against but.... gotta have faith u kno... and i feel like all active idols are kind of... permanently worked very hard but i think currently only jooheon and shownu are a bit Overloaded. also has the date been confirmed yet... it’s february already...
#i planned 2 answer more but im... sleepy...#soon... i will... catch up... and make this blog neater + more navigation-friendly#ask#compilation#Anonymous
