notes on Ai Candy members' pronouns and speech patterns:

Akino talks like a modern teenage girl in casual settings, and humbly and politely with industry folks.  plenty of aizuchi.  as her idol persona is basically her natural self, she uses atashi onstage, in interviews, etc like she does with family and friends.  quite respectful when first meeting a reporter, photographer, fellow entertainer, etc; will call hir lastname-san or, if she doesn't know hir name, anata-san.

Marin uses keigo at all times and never uses any first-person pronoun other than watashi.  when she tries to use slang she sounds like a character in a 90s sukeban show or something.  knows all the readings of all the words, and uses way too many kanji when she writes.  her own autograph is her full name in legible kanji, top to bottom (she practiced being able to write it quickly for a long time).

Sayu tends to mirror her conversation partner's tone, and generally has little trouble hitting the right balance of not too uptight and not too rude.  prone to slipping in double ententes.  she's also the one who laughs at bad puns.  used to use atashi, but switched to watashi full-time when she accepted her role as the big sister of the group.  if she uses a second-person pronoun it will pretty much always be anata.  could probably successfully impersonate any of her bandmates.  loves it when people speak in their native dialect even when it's not considered professional.

Kazuna talks like a typical friendly edokko.  a little less formal with management than akino is.  refers to herself as atashi or sometimes watashi; was considering switching to boku to diversify the group before minoe joined as the official ore.

Minoe uses the roughest, bluntest, most masculine speech, barely stopping short of ore-sama.  simply can't use teineigo.  they stopped letting her answer the phone at her office job.  people assume she's picking a fight.  loud voice, too.  short sentences.  oi!  ha??  some of her fans probably fantasize about her shaking them down for money.

Kozuki always uses feminine speech, but sounds haughty rather than humble- atakushi, obaka-san, kashira, etc.  she initially used atashi; atakushi is her playing up the character, but she quite likes it.  like marin, she knows a lot of big words, and has also picked up some foreign slang as a model.  if she were to speak harshly to someone, she'd use anta or hir last name without an honorific, as opposed to minoe's teme and omae and kisama.  also disinclined to use uchi, ostensibly because she doesn't like to speak for anyone but herself, but more because she has a hard time feeling connected with the rest of the group.
