20 Questions for Fic Writers
thanks @liminalmemories21 @lemonlyman-dotcom for the tags! It's been a minute since I've done a version of this game
1. How many works do you have an AO3? 92
2. What's your total AO3 word count? 678,345 but that includes a bunch of collabs and co-written fics so not all of those words are mine. I never tracked my actual word count, but at a guess I'd say at least 150,000 of those words aren't my own
3. What fandoms do you write for? Red, White & Royal Blue, 911 Lone Star and, theoretically, Schitt's Creek although it's been a very long time since I've written any SC fic.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos? leaving out the multi-author collabs that I've contributed a chapter to, I am unsurprised that these are all RWRB fics:
Everybody needs good neighbours | RWRB | E | neighbours au | 14.3k
to the victor, the spoils | RWRB | E | lawyer au | 19.4k
yours for the afternoon | RWRB | T | coffee shop meet cute | 4.6k
What, like it's hard? | RWRB | E | lawyer au prequel | 65.1k
this one surprised me because I haven't actually checked my stats in ages:
Are You Screwing With Me? | RWRB | E | grindr au | 6.5k
5. Do you respond to comments? I try to! I'm not particularly punctual about it though.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? The only fic(let) I've ever written with an angsty(ish) ending hasn't been published and I'm not sure it ever will, but it's the result of @howtosingit saying something like, "whatever you do, don't imagine that the Huntington's test went the other way and the ending of Queen Charlotte."
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? all of them? idk they all have happy endings, maybe What, like it's hard? (obligatory A/N to say do not read that fic if you haven't read to the victor, the spoils first, please.)
8. Do you get hate on fics? It's not a regular thing, thankfully.
9. Do you write smut? lol (that's a yes).
Oh actually! Lil bit of railmedaddy lore: when I first started writing SC fic and chose my ao3 name (which was inspired by Dan Levy's appearance on SNL), it was meant to be a joke because railmedaddy was never ever going to write smut, didn't think she'd be capable of ever doing that, actually. That lasted all of ... maybe 6 months.
10. Do you write crossovers? The closest I've ever come is this snippet in response to an ask about how and where David, Patrick, Alex, Henry, Carlos and TK might meet.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I know of, I hope not!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Yes! Make the Yuletide Gay (Tarlos) was translated into simplified Chinese. I was honoured that anyone would want to go to the trouble of doing that!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? yes, with @welcometololaland my beloved 💖 and I love doing it because it's so much fun
Call Me (By My Name) | Tarlos | E | phone sex au | 65.5k
(Un)professional Services | Tarlos | E | lawyer/accountant au | 63.3k
I do have a bunch of other collaborations, but they're not co-written per se, in that we each wrote a chapter but didn't necessarily write the whole thing together.
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? I'm not sure that there's anything in actual WIP form with words on the page that I both want to finish and don't think I will? There are a lot of ideas that I'd like to write but don't think will ever actually happen.
16. What are your writing strengths? Someone tell me, please. Thinking about comments on my fics and the things that I actually like writing (I think my writing is better when I'm really enjoying it), it's probably banter and smut with feelings.
17. What are your writing weaknesses? World building, pretty metaphors and similes. I think my writing is repetitive so don't look too closely, especially if you read my fics in more than one fandom.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? If it's in character, then why not? The times I have included substantial Spanish dialogue, I have a native Spanish speaker look over it and help with translations because I don't want to rely on google translate.
19. First fandom you wrote for? Schitt's Creek
20. Favorite fics you've written? The collabs with Lola I linked ^^, The Grindr Toolbox: A Guide to Getting Nailed series is something that I had so much fun with and I'm very proud of, who am i if i can't carry it all aka June fic which I poured my heart and soul into, I don't think there's any other fic I've written that has so much of myself in it, this year i will fall which is my RWRB Hallmark Christmas fic.
tagging @welcometololaland @kiwiana-writes (mostly to make you compliment yourself again ily) @indestructibleheart @three-drink-amy @reyesstrand @carlos-in-glasses @heartstringsduet @orchidscript + open tag

Has Exodus been Redeemed?
So, I saw someone posting about this the other day, and they made two really good points. Summarised here:
Bennet being redeemed because of Krakoa is weird and bad.
Any redemption Bennet gets should involve children because of that thing when he kinda maybe sorta tried to kill Luna
And yes these are both good points but also... are we supposed to think of current bennet as redeemed at all?
Some thoughts on all the above:
Is Bennet actually doing anything different now than he was in Messiah Complex?
I mean, no. Right?
When it comes down to it, Bennet's moral failings are quite straight forward. He doesn't care who he hurts, who he kills, so long as he conceptualises it as a step towards securing the salvation of mutantkind. He is myopic, narrowly focused on whatever he's decided his goal is, and his thought process is (sorry babe) irrational. He is not stable. He's not able to recognise that instability. Neither is he able to recognise his own hypocrisy when it arises. His worldview warps to make sense with whatever he's decided he needs to do. And, when all is said and done, he'll say it was God's plan.
So, he's like any old cult leader or anti vax podcaster, really. He pedals dangerous nonsense and has the just the right combination of personality flaws and mental illness to still be a true believer and a moral crusader.
Or he's like, you know, a crusader.
In Messiah Complex - an almost incoherent sprawling mess of a crossover event from 2007 - Bennet is distraught and struggling after M Day and ends up taking his Acolytes to meet Mr Sinister because he has come to believe that the only solutions lie in mad scientism or something. Bennet gets on his knees for him (literally) and then he and his Acolytes team up with the Marauders to fight the xmen because something something Destiny's diaries something something baby something something ice-stique something something. Bennet straight up vanishes from the story before it concludes. Idk maybe he went out for lunch.
Anyway, I bring it up as an example of a time where Bennet is looking for direction is his Holy War, joins forces with other mutants/mutates, and tolerates an uneasy alliance because he is 100% devoted to the mission.
Psychologically speaking, is bennet really behaving any differently in the krakoa era? Is he making different kinds of decisions? I don't think so.
In fact, Krakoa challenges his character less than Messiah complex. Which is weird, because in the latter he's straightforwardly a villain. Krakoa era Exodus is not a villain, not even an antagonist.
(I guess he's Sinister's casual antagonist in Hellions, but a) that's a comedic role and b) Nathaniel is the villain of hellions so that wouldn't even count)
He's not a heroic character either. He's just kind of an entity. Protagonist of one issue of Immortal X-Men and primarily featured as an interesting member of the supporting cast.
Krakoa offers Bennet a course of action where he is able to do what he always does (throw himself wholeheartedly at a mutant supremacist project while thinking of himself as the good guy in all of this). He is a defender of Krakoa and an ally to their cause.
So, this is not an arc. Categorically, it is not a character arc of any kind because he does not change. So, in that sense it's not a redemption arc either. But of course he is a character who has gone from villain to "guy who's on the side you're rooting for"
I think it's not wrong, then, to argue that what we're seeing from Fall of X era Exodus is the presentation of an unearned redemption. He's good/better now, but no actual story arc is there to back it up. He's not grown or changed or learnt anything. He's not been challenged. There is nothing in the text to suggest that he would now see non mutant lives as valuable, worth sparing.
So... is this bad writing?
He has not changed or learnt anything, are we supposed to believe otherwise?
The Krakoa era contains many in-story critiques of the nation it depicts, and to mixed results. Interestingly, Bennet is not heavily featured in this regard. Throwaway comments about him being scary or insane are tossed around, but he is not meaningfully involved in a story that questions the ideology of Krakoa - or of his ideology specifically.
It's hard to tell, then, what we're looking at. Let's roughly divide it into two possibilities:
Bennet is being portrayed as nicer, somewhat redeemed, and the mission of Krakoa is understood to be a virtuous endeavour.
Krakoa is understood to be a morally flawed endeavour, and Bennet is just being his same old self and not redeemed at all.
2 seems closer to what Gillen is doing in my opinion, but I think there's room for debate.
It's not like immortal xmen is really about the moral implications in the flaws of Krakoa. It's much more focused on the psychology of the characters on the Quiet Council and their interpersonal conflict and intrigue.
But, of course, explosions go boom.
Despite the intimate themes of immortal xmen (and its adjacent minis and oneshots), its overarching plot threads primarily involve krakoa being threatened with annihilation (inferno, judgement day, dominion crap, miscellaneous orchis crap, etc). Because of this, bennet is primarily featured as a defender of the people of Krakoa when they are under attack. This absolutely does lend itself to interpretation 1, wherein Exodus' zealotry is position's as a (complicated) good in the necessary and just cause of Krakoa.
To me, it feels like gillen is telling a story featuring characters who are predominantly morally grey or outright villainous, and using a setting and plot backdrop that forces them into the same or similar boat, allowing the writing to explore their intricacies. If the setting and plot were too normal - if it were one where the heroes would refuse to work with the villains or one where the villains were constantly being antagonists - many of those more interesting character beats would be cut off.
However, I don't think he has fully succeeded in this regard. The overarching thread of the innocents of krakoa being in mortal danger and needing protection is one that has moral implications. It does end up framing Bennet heroically, even when the on-page material does keep reminding you that he's, you know, a deranged zealot.
There's more that can be said about how the fact that Krakoa is constantly under threat of total extinction undermines any attempt at nuance in its portrayal, and how it contributes to the greatest failings of this era. But I do plan to write that retrospective soon so I'll save it for later.
For now, I'll say that to me it feels like the intent was not to tell a story of redemption arcs at all. Instead, morality was not the focus and the storytelling deliberately steers away from the pedagogical. However, despite this intent, the shape of a redemption story remains, simply due to the nature of Bennets role in Krakoa.
Won't somebody please think of the children?
The one way in which we arguably do see change in Bennet is with The Children.
Bennet is shown telling stories to the children of Krakoa, teaching them and, also, protecting them. His interactions with Kafka in X-Men Forever are a good example of this.
The thing with Luna (he takes her from Fabian who was, unsurprisingly, responsible for all this mess) is a pretty bleak moment in Bennet's history. It also I believe leads to him being stabbed by Dane which I can't imagine him enjoying.
Bennets canon history is actually kind of weird. He's one of those characters with a lot of "idek how he got out of that but he turned up later on so he must have" in his wiki. The krakoa era is probably the most prolonged, stable period of his existence where the audience has had a strong sense of where he's at and what he's doing for the last five years.
Similarly, in universe the krakoa era could well be the first time Bennet's life has been anything close to normal for a long time. He has a home that isn't a supervillain lair, and actual down time for the first time since Mags woke him up. He is walking around in public and kinda sorta socialising for possibly the first time in his entire life.
He has that line about how he's old and wise, and that other line about how he's not naive (a repeat - he says it in the 90s and in krakoa) and both of those things are lies. Because he's, you know, a delusional cult leader. He is not literally old. He was a young man (which in medieval terms could literally mean still in his teens) when he went into that coma. And it's been 30 years real time since he woke up. But no characters who were adults then have aged in that time (and some (emma) have got younger) so whatever it is in universe it's not more than a few years. He's still in his 20s in my interpretation. Moreover, his life experience is extreme social isolation and a series of fanatical violent cults. He is naive. He's not wise.
He's also not really had a chance to just be and coexist with other people. So, in that sense it's not weird to see him be kind to children in Krakoa. Nothing we've seen technically contradicts the idea that he would be. Willingness to threaten a child in one situation and the ability to genuinely care for children aren't actually contradictory. But emotionally, there is resonance to showing this softness to him in this regard.
So, this is the one area where you could say there has been a meaningful change to Bennet, but again it has no narrative arc to it. Beyond simply the implication that if you let this guy chill for a minute, he eventually does mellow a bit.
But it is nice. And it is fitting.
Static characters and hypocrisy
Bennet is a character who fundamentally is incapable of seeing himself as being in the wrong. This is baked right into the type of villain that he is.
Redemption arcs can come in a lot of different forms. Sometimes the fictional universe has concrete concepts of good and evil, and a redemption is about aligning yourself spiritually with the good side (e.g. star wars) or by fulfilling some abstract metaphysical requirement (e.g. Buffy). Sometimes the emphasis is on doing the work to improve yourself (e.g. zuko), and sometimes it's a grand gesture at the right moment. Sometimes it's because a bigger bad came along, sometimes the redeemed one suffers a lot, sometimes they don't.
There's also the fun cartooney type of redemption arc where the bad guy is forced to just kinda hang out with the heroes and becomes part of the team by osmosis. Tgis is a personal fave but I don't think it suits Bennet - he should have an actual arc if it happens at all.
So, if there's an actual arc, it could vary a lot but one thing it requires is introspection and for the character's flaws to actually be confronted in the text.
Now, is it possible to write something like that for Bennet? Yes.
There are limitations, as with any character. He wouldn't suit an arc than evokes a grandiose good/evil darkside/lightside dichotomy because part of his problem is that he already thinks like that. Similarly, you would have to be careful when introducing a character foil (someone to be azula to his zuko for example) because he is not self aware enough to recognise his own flaws in the other. In general, he's someone who can very easily externalise any moral lesson he learns. It's doable, but difficult.
The example I want to evoke is Isaac from Netflix Castlevania. Isaac's storyline in s3 is basically him just travelling from A to B, and on the way he encounters these little vignettes. Some affirm his world view in s2 (aka "humanity sucks might as well help Dracula kill everyone") and some gently challenge it (e.g. "you should consider having friends") and he talks about it. He does philosophy. He reasons through his positions. And, eventually he starts to change. By the time he confronts Hector in s4, he's no longer here for revenge. He's moved on. He's now acting according to what he thinks will make things better.
I love this. I love that it's completely internal as an arc and I love how much agency isaac has. And I love that the dialogue is genuinely clever. Most philosophy dialogue in pop culture is written to just sound deep, but in castlevania they really managed to maintain meaning and coherence throughout.
And obviously the shape of Bennets arc would be different to this, but the idea of a well crafted "man does philosophy, sees the abstract concepts illustrated in narrative vignettes as he does so, and then eventually changes for the better". And a good writer could do this for him.
But should they?
So, this is that lingering thing. You redeem a villain in a comic book and now you've lost that villain. You let Exodus meaningfully improve and then he's no longer available to churn out as a big or medium bad. Maybe you might want to keep Bennet's delightful combination of flaws because it allows you to explore them. Maybe a redeemed Bennet isn't really Bennet anymore, or doesn't have what you want from him as a character. You make the unselfaware villain introspect then what are you left with?
A happier character, sure. But maybe not a good ingredient for a story.
And with bennet, the kind of introspection and self confrontation needed for a redemption arc would change him a lot. It would change him at his very foundation.
Does that mean he's doomed to be a static character? Not necessarily. I think it would be possible to bring shape to his storylines without shaking those foundations, but it is limiting. And also, they don't focus on him enough to do it.
Conclusion
The title of this section is a such a joke because I have nothing conclusive to say. I feel like if you read this far, you've been tricked.
I think Exodus makes for an interesting villain, and (imho) is actually best suited to be posed as not the only/main villain in a story. A supporting antagonist, if you will.
But that doesn't mean seeing him in a protagonist role isn't welcome. I loved it the one time it happened. And as for uncomplicated heroics? No, he's not there yet. And if he got there, it would involve a pretty hefty change to his character.
But it's not like I would be mad if it happens. We don't need a crusader villain (especially as I personally don't think Bennet's zealotry is well suited to paralleling modern religious extremism - at least not the mainstream stuff) and hell, I want to see what a fully sympathetic write of him would look like. Maybe he'd get to talk to Dane again. That could be fun.
But it doesn't look like that's going to happen. He'll probably continue to hover in this "villainous ally" space for the foreseeable future. He's in heir of apocalypse. I doubt he'll get a lot to do.
Anyway. Thanks guys if you made it this far. Hope you have a nice day. I'm currently spending billable hours sitting in a stairwell writing essays about comics. What a time we live in.

Who do you think is the most attractive guy in gossip girl? Carter, Dan, nate, Chuck lol?
I am a Dan girl through and through. like, *waves hand @ my ao3*
I was talking to a friend a few weeks ago about our childhood hearthrob crushes, re: 2000s teen soaps, and our seasonal Gilmore Girls rewatches, and I told her that "Me, I've always been into the dark haired men who are just a little bit pathetic"
Now, I do think Nate is very hot, and since I've been kind of on a jenate kick since this summer I've been like "jenny, girl, I understand"
Carter is attractive in the same way Georgina is attractive. he would make me worse and honestly I would let him because it would be fun while it lasted.
the only thing attractive about Chuck is his money
#asks#anon#listen a path to cash in this economy? not unattractive#it's the everything else of chip wiskers that's off-putting#(not a direct comparison but the last date I went on was with a business major.#so. path to cash. but like. conversation went nowhere.)#and chuck wasn't even a business major bc he didn't even fucking go to school which is WORSE#re that text I quoted above I also gave her a list and it went like#'dan humphrey. jess mariano. everything john francis daley and adam brody have ever done.'#and then we agreed about how much we love marshall erikson#where was I going with this? idk.#dan is my favorite.#my good pal my rotten soldier my sweet cheese my good time boy#natie is my blorbo sunflower. my sweet dumb thot.#carter's only job is to be hot and cause problems and i love that for him.

How do you think Nate, as Dan's boyfriend/husband, would handle Dan's career as a writer? Like do you think: he would read his drafts and even criticize them, that he would read his books, that he would attend every single one of his book signing events, that Dan would explore his ideas for a book with Nate before and during the time that he is writing it??
Hopefully this ask made sense. I am interested on your thoughts on this since you actually are a Date shipper who is a writer and because of how Nate reacts to Dan's book in 5.04.
This ask made a lot of sense, yeah! my answer got a Little long, so I'm putting it under the cut!
Hmm, so: I think Nate's level of involvement would depend on what Dan wants from him, tbh? Like, I think Nate would be very "is this one too personal, or can I look at these drafts?" and Dan would tell him based on whatever the context is. For instance, I could imagine Dan writing something inspired his breakup/divorce with Serena (depending on how much canon we're keeping) and asking Nate not to read it, because he doesn't want to make things awkward or put Nate in a position where he needs to choose between Dan & Serena or whatever else. I would imagine that if Dan ever writes about Milo, he'd actively request Nate to read through his stuff, though, given that Nate was the only person who was there with Dan in the city that summer he had Milo. So: context matters.
It's connected, but I headcanon Nate as someone with dyslexia, that likely went undiagnosed through school & maybe he gets diagnosed as an adult. We see canonically that reading is something Nate struggles with (the image that's coming to mind is 1x03 and Nate falling asleep trying to read The Petting Zoo). This makes me feel like when Dan's writing something and wants input, he'd read his drafts aloud to Nate, and it becomes a thing they do. Idk, that image lives in my head rent free.
I also do think that Nate definitely would attend Dan's book signings and all that, depending on whether he's free, because if he's getting into politics (I hate that arc for him!) or some other job that's intense, he might have other commitments, but I think whenever he can be there he will be there, unless Dan asks him not to, or something like that.
You mentioned 5x04 and Nate's reaction to Dan's book, so! yes, let's talk about that, too. I always found it interesting that unlike Blair, who was upset that Dan wrote about the two of them in ways that implied they'd been intimate & therefore misrepresented her + caused tension in her engagement, and unlike Serena, who was upset that the way Dan had characterised her reflected all her flaws and insecurities and none of her strengths or virtues... Nate's issue is that he's a "composite character" in Dan's book, and that he "wasn't important enough to be his own character". He's not upset that Dan wrote about him - he's not even ruffled or bothered about Dan giving a character inspired by him a gay arc, he's totally fine with it. What he is upset about is that Dan didn't find him "important enough" to merit being his own character... which....... uh. Nate, that's kinda gay. I joke sometimes about how the Spectator arc for Natie is just an elaborate ruse to get Dan's attention ("hey bro, I'm the editor of a magazine, do you find me hot yet? will you kiss me now?") but jokes aside, that'd be an interesting take on a terrible arc, and i intend to write a fic about that soon. if anyone wants to beat me to it and write a fic about that sooner, please go for it, lol.
If we're talking about Inside, I think that there's a lot of conflict that comes into play solely because the choice to publish was taken out of Dan's hands and his work was forced into the public before he was ready for it, and therefore he couldn't prepare his friends adequately. I would imagine if Vanessa hadn't made that choice for him, he would've let his friends know to what extent characters were inspired by them, and had open conversations about them. Which leads me to - I feel, just due to how Nate values honesty, and Nate doesn't judge, and Dan is Nate's best friend (& boyfriend/husband too, but he was his best friend first, and he will continue to be his best friend even when they're dating/married)... due to all that, I feel Dan would have conversations with Nate about what he's writing about him, if he's writing about him & hoping to publish.
I also do think that in general, Nate & Dan would talk about Dan's books and Dan's writing! based on the kind of banter and media watching their friendship already contains - they watch vampire movies together canonically, they have a "don draper pact", in 4x09 nate makes fun of dan about how a dan humphrey date would involve watching black and white foreign films (nate how do you know this...) - the two of them DO watch things together and talk about stuff... @vanderwoodlings and I have an AU in the works in which they're fandom friends & i will not say any more about it, but I do think that's an aspect of their dynamic that is already there. They have the vibes of like... best friends who would binge watch a series together and then keep DM-ing each other fanart and fanfic they find on the internet, and keep sharing headcanons, and all that. so I do think, depending on the context of what Dan's writing, Nate would maybe do that too - or maybe not!
It all goes down to Nate being very perceptive - Dan writing a book based off his experience being a student at St Jude's, for instance, would be fair game, and I can definitely imagine Nate sitting on the couch and flipping through the drafts and interjecting with a "dude, you should mention that French class in which James fell asleep and had to be carried out here, it will go so well with the theme of chapter 13" or whatever else. But Dan writing a book that's inspired by his mother leaving them, for instance? Nate would not headcanon or add any suggestions to that. He'd probably be more like, quietly supportive, and "the way you wrote about this was so beautiful, but I'm sorry you went through that" as opposed to anything else.
I hope this answers your questions satisfactorily! if not, I'd love to pass the mic over to @mymindseessongs & @vanderwoodlings (no pressure of course) who are also writers and also D/N people and who have also written headcanons along these lines... as well as anyone else who wants to add to this. @karadnvres (whom i suddenly cannot tag again, i hate tumblr) i nominate you, too (& again, no pressure).
#anon#meta#date#i feel like i had Many Thoughts. i hope i actually put them down properly#thanks for the ask!#and @ the people i tagged - literally no pressure#i just saw this in my inbox and was like... 'ooh#this is my jam but this is also jessica and ana and leila's jam'#hence. tagging. >:)

How would you rewrite Tini the movie (AND do you ever plan to live blog when you rewatch it)
I will only rewatch Tini the movie and live blog about it if people force me to.
This is how I would rewrite it:
The reason Violetta goes to Italy is not due to heartbreak. In fact, there's no drama with Leon at all. What happens is that she feels completely burned out. Like, she barely gets to breathe. So in a moment of weakness, she just. Cancels her tour and runs away. The only one who knows where she is is Germán and Angie. She does not tell Leon, because she does not want to worry him as he's really busy working.
In Italy, she just tries to find herself. Tries to forget about everything and just relaxes. This is where she meets Francesca. Why does she meet Francesca? Mostly because I strongly believe Fran would go back there and have a solo carrier after graduating. The two friends catch up and talk old memories. It’s really nice and Violetta almost forgets all of her troubles.
Ludmila is not a dumb blonde best friend like the movie portrayed her. In fact, she’s a busy star herself; both a singer but also a writer - she writes books where she compares situations one can have in their life with astronomy. The books sell super well and she also has a lot of singing gigs, so she’s just living life. I kind of liked in the movie how they ate dinner with Ludmila over a video call, it showed that she was still a part of the family. Maybe they have family dinners like that every month or something, and Ludmila asks where Vilu is, as she heard she had gone away. Angie and Germán do not want to tell her where Violetta went. Mostly because they tell her they haven’t told anyone at all, not even Leon, and Violetta really needs to be alone. But Ludmila is good with getting what she wants, and convinces them to tell her. She is so exstatic with this information though that she calls Naty up (because they are still friends) and Naty is with Camila. Camila calls up Francesca and is like ”lmao did you know Violetta is in the same country as you?” and Fran is like ”Yeah we went on a boat ride together” and sends a picture of Violetta smiling on a beach.
Anyway it eventually leads to basically every former on beat student now knowing Violetta is in Italy. Everyone except for Leon. And no one tells him either.
Like it’s the funniest thing. Everyone is very gossipy and tells each other but no one tells Leon. It isn’t until he hears news about Violetta cancelling her tours that he decides to call her to see how she’s feeling. They then have this conversation:
Leon: Are you okay?
Violetta: Yeah. I was feeling very down but i’m feeling better now.
Leon: Where are you? There’s news articles about no one knowing where you are.
Francesca, in the background: Vilu, are you ready to go out for dinner?
Leon: Is Francesca there?
Violetta: Yeah.
Leon: Did she come from Italy?
Violetta: No… I met her here.
Leon: Here… like in Italy?
Violetta: Yes.
Leon:
Leon: You went to Italy???
Violetta: Yes, Leon. I needed to get away. No one knew where I was going, only dad and Angie.
Leon: I’m coming.
Violetta: No- you’re working.
Leon: I don’t care, i’m coming. *hangs up*
Violetta:
Violetta: You don’t even know where in Italy I am????
Then Leon somehow knows exactly where in Italy she is, and when he arrives he sees Francesca feeding her a pizza slice or something (the girls decided to make their own pizza earlier). For some reason he feels jealous even though he knows Francesca and knows she and Vilu are close friends. The girls tease him a bit for it and it's some scene where it seems like Fran and Vilu actually have something going on but it doesn't exactly lead to much of anything.
I think Leon and Francesca then help Violetta to get back on her singing career - because singing is who she is, after all. So they help her prepare for that show.
Also, there's no plot about Tini being Vilu's real name or anything like that. Tini is simply carved into a tree and none of them quite know what it means. In the end it's kind of "Maybe Tini is the start of something new idk"
So that's how I would fix it lmao it's still not as good but still slightly better than the actual movie

passion fruit, strawberry, grape
Naty! 💖 Ily!
passion fruit: how would you describe your style?
Idk that I really have “a style”? I go from flowy, floral dresses to athletic pullovers and jeans. If I had to describe it, I would say lazy, comfy, potato sack. I don’t love my body so I wear mostly oversized/flowy things. And I always aim for comfort.
strawberry: favorite desserts?
Anything covered in milk chocolate! Or cheesecake!! I love cheesecake.
grape: if you could take a vacation anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Switzerland! I went many years ago and loved it! The scenery is amazing and I would love love love to go back.
Thank you, love! 💕💕💕

Galra empire, Weblum, Slav and Paladin for the Voltron ask meme if you're still doing it of course! (also, ty so much for following me and liking a bunch of my posts, it really means a lot for me
AHHH yeah more questions!!! I’m always up for ask memes or any questions. I loved your blog, and I’m happy that you followed me!!
Galra empire (Who is your favorite Galra character?) Oooohhh that’s a tough one. Can I cheat and say Keith? I like Kolivan, he’s pretty cool, but I think I actually like Fanon Kolivan as opposed to canon Kolivan, cause people write awesome fics where he’s protective of the paladins once he realizes how young they are, and just flips on the “Protective Dad” Switch. I REALLY like Thace though, cause he deactivated the barrier so Voltron could escape even though he knew he’d probably get caught for it. And then he went through fudging TORTURE and still went to shut down the ship, and he fought along side Keith, and then he DIED SO THAT KEITH COULD ESCAPE AND VOLTRON COULD DEFEAT THE EMPIRE AND just *sniff sniff* he was such a good character and he’s gone now… But then there’s the new galra ladies, who seem pretty bada$$ and they’re cool. Zethrid (the big one) is really growing on me, cause she’s just so straight forward about blowing stuff up and taking down the enemy. There’s no secret twisted plans coming from her, which I greatly appreciate. Cause Ezor (the one that can be invisible) is also fairly straight forward, but the fact that she can be invisible and you never know where she’s at is a little suspicious/nerve-raking to me. then there’s Nati/Nadi (idk how you spell it, the blind one with the cat) is just super mysterious and can control people which is cool, but also creepy and evil. And then there’s Acxa (space azula/weblum galra) who I’m pretty sure is a deep uncover spy. So who knows what her motives are.
But in all honesty pre-evil Zarkon is my favorite, cause he was such a crushing mess over Honerva and gets scared by cats, and willing to risk his life to save his wife, and was a good friend that got Alfor out of messes, and he got baby allura that helmet which is just too cute, and he was all nervous about it too, and just, uggghh pre-evil Zarkon is the best.
Weblum (What is your favorite Voltron episode?) Omg you’re asking all the really hard ones lol!! I really like Space Mall cause it’s just a lot of good fun. Some Assembly Required is also good. I like the beginning of Greening the Cube, cause of the squishy asteroid fight. Blade of Marmora is also amazing because of the way Keith is drawn in that episode (his hair is so beautiful, I cry everytime), and the fact that we see that Keith really wants to be part of a family. Just every episode is amazing and I like parts from each of them. But from the new season I really like Hole in the Sky, cause Sven and Slav. Just- Sven and Slav were amazing and adorable, and good lord Sven you are not allowed to fudging die jfosiehfljbvjhsoeihf. Also the last episode where we finally learn about the old paladins is great.
Slav (What are your ships? No discourse allowed) OOooh boy. Alright. First of all I’m just going to say that these are my personal preferences for ships, and that this blog does not post any ships as this is a platonic blog (unless it could be viewed as platonic or just really super cute and sweet* *but that’s still rare for me to post a ship), but that it is also does not put down any other ships. :)
Alright!! For me my OTP is Kidge. It could also be just a Brotp and I’d be totally fine with that, but I feel that they would work so well together and it’s just and adorable ship that I love (but they need more on-screen interaction that’s not them just talking through the comms in their lions!) If Klance were to happen in canon I’d be cool with it, but I much more prefer them as BROTP. and fanon klance/hardcore klance shippers get on my nerves sometimes, and make me not like the ship at all. I also really like the irony of plance/pidgance, cause Lance “mister I flirt with pretty much every girl I meet” ending up with the person who he no idea was a girl, is hilarious to me, and I think they also get along very well. When I first joined the fandom and I saw that shallura was a top ship, I thought it was weird, but then it grew on me, and now I love it with all my heart screw all the age discourse. I don’t really like the shaladin ships, but sometimes the art and fics are really cute, so I don’t mind too much. (I see shiro as too much of a brother/father figure to the rest of the paladins for me to properly ship him with any of them) Shidge is my personal Notp, but I know the people who do ship it are respectful with it and do not make it pedophilia (for the large majority, there could be some gross people out there, but I haven’t run across anything so far) and I usually just ignore it if I come across it (cause that’s what ya should do when there is a ship you don’t like!). But mostly everything is space family and brotps between all the paladins. Coran is permanent space uncle. And pre-evil Zarkon and Honerva are adorable.
(if you want to know how I view anyother ship in perticular you can ask or message me, and I’ll tell you what I think about it!! :) cause I’m open to a lot of the ships)
Paladin (When did you start watching Voltron?) I started watching shortly after season 2 came out. Like Jan 22?? or 24th?? Anyway I saw that the How to Train Your Dragon page that I followed on facebook shared a trailer or add promoting season 2, and once I realized that the show was made by Dreamworks, I wanted to watch it, and once I did I became OBSESSED.
Bonus: when I watched the season 1 finale I was like “thank goodness I didn’t have to wait to see what happened.” Watching season 2 finale “well what the fudge that’s even worse.”
Thank goodness this season didn’t have a cliff hanger ending, but still a lot of unanswered questions and weird going ons *side eyes “shiro”*
Voltron ask meme ask me questions! :D

cedricteuchert hat auf deinen Eintrag geantwortet “ich habe gerade einen erfolgreichen fca-post. mit unter 50 notes. ein...”
i think i at least get a bit of your post and Julia's comments - and i agree!! well like Julia i support Schalke (lmfao) and tbh it is a relatively big club, but as she's said... most attention gets put into Goretzka and Meyer. or sometimes Kehrer, i guess since he was part of the group that won the U21s... but no one really cares about the others. look, we've got Oczipka who's been brilliant for us after coming, we've got a brilliant goalkeeper although no one really cares...
i've always moaned about Schalke only seeming to have three (now two) players, because of all the attention only 2 players get, but not the others who are equally as brilliant and amazing... meanwhile, also for other teams, as Julia's said... Jann-Fiete Arp, a super talent... imagine if he's playing for Bayern/BVB, everyone will go insane. does anyone know about Haller from Frankfurt? Philipp Max, Caiuby, (Finnbogason and Hitz? and so on?), all have been amazing for your team, Augsburg?
idk, you can see the difference in notes, definitely... when i make Hertha gifs, the most i've gotten was about 20 or 20+, i forgot. which is well i guess, a lot. as you've said, it's not about the notes though... idk, sometimes i just want other teams/players to get more exposure, because well, now big teams are even getting bigger, and honestly... people only care about them? which is a shame, considering there are a lot more in a league... (sorry for the essay, kinda have to get this out...)
(Aaaah, I’m sorry, I can’t stop ranting in German all the time :D At least I don’t write in dialect anymore.) ((I used to, in my “early days”, but nobody understood me.))
Yes, that’s so true! Players get hyped for so much less (concerning both looks and talent) when they play for a big team. Some fans even lower their standards so much just to be able to admire every player in their big team D: (I don’t want to say the names but there are some “big players” and they’re simply ugly and if they didn’t play for a big team, nobody would care for their looks and that’s just okay because they don’t even need to be pretteh and they aren’t but some people are just like “omg he’s so beautiful” NO HE’S NOT)
And yes, it’s terrible DDD: We’ve got cute players on our team, we’ve got super talented players, but who cares?? Marwin gets a little bit more attention by now since he was called up for the Nati, everyone is a sucker for Iceland (me too, sure) but almost nobody recognizes the beauty that is Alfred Finnbogason (don’t wanna talk about his way of playing. It’s okay when he scores but otherwise I don’t really like it.... I’m a bitch for defending and he’s more like “oh shit, there’s another player, let’s drop the ball” I love him nevertheless ok), Daniel Baier is one of the best midfielders in Germany, without him, we wouldn’t be where we are now and so on... Jeffrey Gouweleeuw (okay, I get why nobody talks about him, his name is terrible and even though he’s part of the starting 11 each time he isn’t injured, everyone is like “???? chwalalala???” when it’s time to shout his name) complained about it, too, earlier - he said that it’s impossible to get called up for the Dutch national team when you’re playing in Augsburg (in this case, they prefer players from the big Dutch teams) and we lost so so so many players because they knew they’d never be called up for their national team if they played for Augsburg DAMN we even had players who were in some U national team even though they didn’t play at their old team but when they joined us and played every match, they were never called up again (example: Dominik Kohr. Didn’t play for Leverkusen, was part of the U NT, went to Augsburg, no natio no more) and ugh it just makes me very angry DDD:
Also the notes, yes! Sometimes i make gifs of more popular stuff. I get much more notes and those posts return all the time because someone discovered them again. Augsburg posts? Almost never. (Unless I rediscover them and reblog them...)
There are so many players, so many individuals, so much to love - but instead, so many people put a lot of effort into making a big player from a big team likable in every aspect. WHY D:

how would rank nate's girlfriends (in terms of their relationships with nate and them as people)? lmao
hmm. this is hard. what’s easy is saying i loved natessa best, and hated naterine most. more under the cut!
i think i’ve mentioned enough times that most people know i think nate & vanessa were the best - they both supported each other equally, their relationship was very 50/50, they both respected & valued each other, etc. their relationship was so real and so balanced, i really loved watching that play out and think it made no sense, the way they caused the dissolution of it? especially since after breaking up with vanessa he suddenly seems really into commitment - see how he is with bree buckley!! where was that energy when you were dating someone who was actually cool, natie!
i don’t know where to put serenate, because i love serena as a character, and i think nate was very committed to that relationship from day 1, but i don’t think serena ever took him as seriously as he deserved to be taken / as HE took her, & i don’t see that particular relationship to be fulfilling in a long-term way for similar reasons that i don’t ship danessa romantically. their break up felt organic to me. that said, serena WAS his best friend and she did care about him and want him to be happy, which is more than you can say for most of nate’s girlfriends.
blair & nate may not have had any sort of romantic spark when we saw them on the show (& honestly, i think nate was initially not a very good bf to blair)- but blair did her best to be there for him, and the implication of childhood friends is that she was there, paying attention for him & being there for him for a really long time. i think blair/nate had a really strong platonic connection that the show never went into, and i think by virtue of that they still rank relatively high from a nate pov at least.
jenny/nate is also complicated to place, partially because i’m always going to be partial to lesbian!jenny & probably won’t write her as anything else. that said, of late, i’ve been seeing people who love her as much as me, if not more, who see her as someone who likes men, and the last thing i want to do is start a fandom war over ‘is this female character with unspecified sexuality lesbian or bi?’ because those NEVER end well. anyway i’ve become more tolerant to interpretations of jenny that aren’t her being lesbian, and i HAVE read a decent chunk of really good n/j fic. i think they had a closeness on the show that neither of them had with anyone else, where they could talk about their trauma with each other, which makes them special to me. that said, i don’t think their canon dynamic was necessarily the healthiest - jenny often used nate as a means to like, obtain social power, and nate became more passive than ever and just let jenny do whatever she wanted? it’s interesting to me because i feel, theoretically, like nate & jenny could be really healthy together but the show didn’t do that.
i have a really weird soft spot for jenate shippers though, ever since i got those hateful jennycourse anons. i just hope y’all are having a good time in fandom, and not being dragged down by losers who send anon hate. (unconnected fun fact: sending me ship hate only makes me ship something more! and feel the urge to validate people who ship it.)
now we have a ton of guest stars & relatively unmemorable girlfriends.
i liked lola and raina!!! raina & nate > lola & nate, for me, tbh. raina & nate had such a childlike enthusiasm and during that day that they do things they’ve never done before, they were both SO happy and it was so cute. eating ice-cream together, talking about starting an ice-cream company, raina kicking nate’s ass at just dance... i wish we’d gotten more raina. i think i actually like raina x nate more than serenate, come to think of it. we didn’t have enough of her, though. raina would’ve been such a GOOD series regular.
i liked lola & nate!!! lola reminds me of kelsi from hsm for some reason i cannot articulate, and her relationship with nate was VERY chill. low-pressure, drama free, etc, from what i remember. twas cute.
now we are into the less nice ones!
bree :( nate was so into this relationship and there were times when he seemed like he would genuinely be happy with her, but i disliked bree as a character so much that i just could NOT get behind his happiness. it baffles me how men settle for bree buckley after vanessa abrams.
juliet, next. i never liked juliet from the beginning, and i say this as a flex ;) idk she was just really pushy, and her whole “I Can Help You Improve Your Life Even Though You Have No Idea Who I Am” thing felt like a major red flag. i felt vindictive glee about my judgement being right on that one, lmao.
sage goes here, because we only have catherine & diana next. but to be really honest, i think the problem with the sage/nate relationship was nate. he should not have been dating her once he realised she was in high school. teenagers have crushes on people in their 20s!! it’s normal!!! it’s the responsibility of the adults to Not engage and to turn them down if they try to initiate something!!
diana is the second worst to me - the fact that she’s working for nate’s grandfather, the hashtag workplace harassment of it all... it’s really devastating.
i’ve implied before on this blog that catherine (& naterine) was the worst thing - genuinely traumatic, and it’s implied that after a point, she’s manipulating him & all the sex is coerced, which is undeniably the most terrible. like... the implications are of caon rape, so it really does not get worse than this.
i have not counted jordan steele or ivy dickens (she was never really his gf, she just kissed him + i can’t take her really seriously, given that she was cheating on dan’s dad with serena’s dad and apparently this was completely unironic and non-satirical) because the wikia says that they never officially dated & unlike jenate, those 2 aren’t even Main Characters.
#anon#nate archibald#so it bears saying that this is ALLL my opinion#anyway people who follow me#if y'all disagree or don't like this order that's totally fine#to the best of my knowledge a lot of serenate shippers follow me#& i think y'all are very cool#update: removed the anti serenate tag#because i don't REALLY think this is anti serenate#they rank pretty high!#oh damn the#rape mention#tag got removed. so im putting it back

i don’t think nate or vanessa got pushed aside as a reflection of dan’s feelings about them, i think they simply weren’t as ~dramatic~ as serena, blair, and chuck were and therefore didn’t fit as well into dan’s salacious satire. sure, nate’s family issues start out pretty dramatic - but that plotline is (mostly) forgotten past s2. compared to the incredibly heightened storylines that serena, blair, and chuck had, vanessa and nate’s narratives probably just weren’t juicy enough lol
This makes sense for Nate - my own gay agenda aside, I feel like Nate's friendship was a very, uh, stable & positive thing Dan had, like, one of the few relationships he was actually secure in. Chuck antagonizes Dan on the reg, Serena is Serena and Dan probably pendulumms between feeling like he's in orbit of her and feeling out of her league, Blair is such a personality (I love her don't get me wrong) it checks out that she was the 'star of the book' even if Dan hadn't been in love with her. Nate is just... Nate. He's the one "normal" friend Dan has, whatever that means. They play soccer together and watch movies together and play Red Dead Redemption together. Maybe Dan felt jealous/insecure/nervous around Nate at some points, but by the time s4/s5 roll around, all of that is gone. Nate is just his bro.
Vanessa, though? I love Vanessa, but let's not forget how she disappeared from Dan's life for a whole year during which she ghosted him and just. never got back in touch with him again. And this was at a time in Dan's life when his mom left, too (but I don't know enough about the timeline to know what came first & whether V knew this, or not) - keeping that aside as well. Dan's only friend was Vanessa, who basically just went "goodbye! it'll be like we never knew each other!" until she was suddenly back, and wanted to pick up right where they left off. I cannot fathom Dan not having some kind of unresolved feelings - not ~romantic feelings but like. complicated feelings re: this is my best friend and this is what she did and this is how it made me feel.
Also worth noting that DV get weird about their creative work when they're dating; like weirdly jealous and sabotage each othery. I don't see it, ngl. DV in s1 were NOT like that about each other's creative endeavours, they wanted the other to succeed. Keeping that aside, though, I think there's an interesting something there - much like how Dan is jealous of Jenny for grabbing the things she wants in 2x09, what if Dan was jealous of Vanessa for being a more bold & outgoing artist? But this is really just me fandomizing & theorizing.
Keeping that above paragraph aside... there's plenty of unresolved Vanessa angst I'm sure Dan has. And "Inside" was a way for Dan to deal with all his emotional stuff, as we've discussed on here before. His "cynical personal diary" and all that. Nate not featuring much is almost flattering (idk why he was offended, Dan trash talked everyone in the book - being a minor character in a satiricial novel is a compliment, Natie) but Vanessa barely featuring? Does not really make sense, imo. I think he had too many feelings re: her for her to NOT take up more space in his book.
