I do not want to see my disabilities in the sims 4 lmao. How tf is EA going to make an invisible disability without it being some watered down, bullshit moodlet.
#puffer talks#im not talking about medical devices#talking about invisible disabilities and illnesses#idk my experience is not a gameplay feature#there is a difference between being a proud wheelchair user and dealing with a debilitating illness#like disability pride does not encompass everyone's experience#im trying to eradicate or subside my stuff as much as i can. it causes me pain#i hate the toxic positivity culture that i need to be accepting and proud of what i go through#if you want to be happy#i can be happy and disabled but also not like or be comfortable with my disabilities#i dont want to see my experiences watered down into sims 4 gameplay content#no matter what it will not serve the whole picture#again im not talking about visibility of mobility devices and physical differences#also some of us use sims an escape from our medical life lol

vague chicory thoughts yayayayay
i loveeee greg lobanovs games!!!!! wandersong + chicory are so incredibly interesting. theyre pretty different in terms of story and gameplay but its really interesting to have played both and see the themes that carry out through both games.
i mean firstly. its a very interesting choice for a video games primary gameplay mechanic to involve singing/painting respectively. i love the incorporation of art into the way the story functions. just absolutely fantastic.
the themes of wandersong and chicory are an interesting comparison point, because theyre both circling the same point, more or less, wandersong is about persevering despite the lack of expectations people have for you, while chicory is about succeeding despite the amount of expectations people have for you. i think its a very interesting dichotomy! two sides of the same coin, and its a really intriguing point of analysis. it also deals heavily with connection and support towards/from other people, which i love.
chicory deals heavily and directly with artist burnout and depression/anxiety, which i thought was portrayed in really interesting ways. they cause you to doubt yourself, lash out at the people and world around you, give up. the way it literally leeched the color from the world is a fun bit of visual metaphor. and. idk :) i liked the dynamics our protagonist has with those around her, like her family and chicory. its nice. its supportive.
idk i just like what lobanov brings to the table with his stories so far. there bits i see consistency in in a way i enjoy. you can tell what his influences are (and its good i like those influences. iirc he was joined in development by some people who worked on celeste and night in the woods)
#and. of course. the most important similarity: both games feature a side character explaining homestuck to you. god bless.#wandersong is one of my favorite games and i really enjoyed this experience as well. even if maybe i blasted through the story a little too#fast lmao. oh well!!!!! it was cute and fun and interesting in terms of gameplay even if i am shit at puzzles#i keep playing platformers and puzzle games even though they piss me off!!!!! idk what my favorite game format is i guess.#all have their pros and cons.#ANYWAYS chicory is on the xbox game pass!!!!! thats how i played it. and it should be on the switch iirc!! steam‚ i think? play it!!!!

Sims 3 Settings Setter
Proper release notes and beta edition
I've added support for setting any Config or Option setting, plus live editing of many many others, so it's now release time. Full feature explanation below, but essentially this lets you edit lots of settings ingame directly instead of having to make .package mods, and provides a "better" and more shareable way of editing GraphicsRules.sgr settings (IMO). Sorry if a new post is annoying idk what I'm doing
THIS IS A BETA, I haven't tested a lot of the settings, there are bugs, etc.
DOES NOT CURRENTLY WORK WITH THE EA VERSION
Downloads: Sims File Share Sims File Share - Less stutter config GitHub
More info about what it is (I yap a bunch) under :)
Installation and use
Please note, some settings wont appear until you load into a world.
Download the ASI file and wack it in to your Sims 3 base directory, where the ts3w.exe is located. If you're using one of the presets, make a folder called s3ss_presets and pop them in there (you'll need to activate them in the presets menu ingame).
Make sure you have an ASI loader, these are either from Smooth Patch's ASI portion or dxwrapper. I recommend dxwrapper, just make sure you set the LoadPlugins value to 1 (should be default)
Start the game, you might experience a little more of an initial "freeze" when starting the game than usual, this is from the script logging a bunch of config calls during initialization, there's like 800 or something nuts. It should not have any negative impact on regular loading or gameplay, and I plan to turn the logging off… eventually.
Press Insert to open up the menu. Go crazy and change everything, make the sun huge, crank bloom up, live.
Check the box next to a live setting to have it save for next time you launch, same thing for config but you also have to press save down the bottom because I forgot
Help I crashed/the game doesn't start with the mod!
Please send me your hooks_log.txt if you're experiencing any crashing issues. If the crash is because you set some value to like 7 billion, that's on you, you can just delete the line out of script_settings.ini or go to Settings -> Clear all settings
If you can't get the game to run with the mod, lmk also, please tell me if you're using a launcher, if you're using any other .asi mods, using dxvk, etc. as well as what operating system you're on.
Features
Live Edit
This is the new™ and now main part of the mod. I've mapped out several/most of the exes main "settings" (anything that interacts w/ 0x005a00a0 and some that don't) areas, which allows you to now, in game, change these values whereas before it was a whole arduous process of making .package mods. I mapped these all statically so some of the offsets/addresses might be wrong.
I was gunna list the settings but there's 260~ of them so maybe not?
I plan to add missing specific individual settings from Config eventually. If you think a setting is missing, or if you think I've mapped a value wrong (i.e. you know it has an effect but it's not working with my mod or is crashing you, or one value is changing multiple things), please let me know. Render/er is definitely missing some, that's because the function is scary and I don't like it.
Values (sometimes) have sliders with the min and max value I found in the exe set, if you want to go higher, you can double click to type in your own number.
Some interesting things you can do with the settings:
Set max lots higher than 8 AND increase the radius so it actually shows (will crash if set too high ~35+, need to investigate) by changing values in Streaming
Play in a game where the sun never sets or rises by editing Sky Common -> Sunset/Sunrise Time
Change shadow settings (includes the same thing as LD's shadow extender mod under), extending shadows (they will still look hideous, writing a post about why currently)
Change various light settings to get the perfect look for your game. Some popular mods edit these values for their looks (presets soon?)
Do whatever… this is…?
Game Config
The function we're hooking (0x0058c380) only seems to effect Config (GraphicsRules.sgr in the .exe directory) and Options (Options.ini in the documents/Sims3 directory), but logs a whole bunch of other thing. Feel free to toggle the option in the settings tab and try changing a bunch, it should in theory work because the function is reading and writing but somewhere it gets overridden or something idk 🤷
It lets you set any that fall under those two categories/headings, which means there's some like ForceHighLODObjects that aren't in the actual file and are settable. You might notice some show different values than what they're set as in your config, this could either be that I'm hooking it too early (I don't think I am), or the value is getting overwritten or changed somewhere in the exe. If there's a setting that's in the file but not in the list that you think does something, lmk, but it should capture everything.
I haven't mapped all of the Config/Option settings to Live Edit as they're all split up in the exe, if there's one you want in particular, lmk.
Presets
I've prepared a preset with just the essentials from my GraphicsRules file post with the idea that you can then use this with a stock GraphicsRules file instead of having to manage different versions, giving you the ability to toggle certain things back to default. I might make some visual "enhancement" presets or something later, either based off popular mods or my own insanity, we'll see.
Presets go into the s3ss_presets folder, and currently they stack rather than replace (not intentional but I might keep it)
Known issues:
Rendering toggles need to be re-toggled each load - Easy fix I'm just lazy
Options settings overwrite the actual Options.ini file (idk why??)
Occasionally D3D9 wont hook, I can't replicate this reliably to test so lmk if you can lmao
I mapped all the settings pretty hastily, so some are bound to be wrong
Was flagged as a virus briefly??? Praying this never happens again because I have no idea what to do to fix that dshjakfhhsdaj
Presets stack, if you apply a preset and you have existing values, they stack together… I kind of like that though as a concept so I just added a clear all option to settings, I might rework it later.
Some Live Edit value locations might change during gameplay, resulting in the menu displaying them incorrectly and crashing the game if edited in a broken state. I've checked most off them and they don't seem to, but Render ones did. Let me know if you experience it as I can probably find a static pointer like I did for Render.
Planned things:
Searching. God that'd be good…
Go over existing maps again, some I did early on before I supported static values, 4 float arrays, etc. so I've probably messed some up
Adding every single GraphicsRule.sgr setting to Live
Maybe adding some of my performance mods to it? Or should I keep them as their own individual thing? Mmmm I dunno
I still haven't looked at the way everyone else has been editing the "live" settings, so I should probably do that, there's probably a lot of info out there but at this point I'm too invested in my weird approach djsakfsksaffsa
Updates:
18.10.24 - Hopefully fixed an issue effect people using launchers, as well as a fix for the process hanging after quitting (would look closed but the process is still there in the bg). Also fixed presets applying. 17.10.24 - Hopefully fix a D3D issue that might've resulted in the game freezing/looking frozen. Handles D3D device resets. Will expand in the future to cover other areas maybe.

I feel like I’m always in ur ask box 💀
But I’m so curious!!!
Does Don live in his own place separate from the caliente girls? Do the caliente girls live in their own houses/apartments as well or no?
As always, loving your gameplay posts with Don sm!! I love everything u post it’s so eye catching 🫶🏼 ur one of my fave blogs >< ~
Buenos días fae! 🤍
Both the Calientes and Don live separately in their own homes. Originally my plan was do it just like in ts2– as neighbors! However, since i’m doing a Lovestruck gp i moved Don to ciudad enamorada in the penthouse lot to experience the world and pack features. The Calientes remain in Oasis springs together completely ignoring Katrina idk who that is
#it’s disturbing how much the lore was fucked in ts4#i know very little about the lore of each character but just seeing Cass as a teen and Don a YA is NASTY#whoever did that needs to stare at a corner for a full day#anyway#i’m a very socially anxious person seeing asks in my inbox makes me sweat bcs IDK WHAT TO SAY AAAAH#but seeing you genuinely enthused about my gp brings me sm warmth#makes me incredibly happy!#thank you sm fae! 💞🥹#ask

finally finished with case 2! and… ok there’s stuff I liked and stuff I didn’t.
I thought as a vehicle for getting to know and introduce more central characters it was pretty good - I really enjoyed seeing ryunosuke and susato work together and see their dynamic blossom. they had a lot of great moments together that I think i appreciated much more in this playthrough than I did the last. the introduction of sholmes is also great, he’s a really fun character and I’m enjoying him so far.
this is also the first case, outside of course the investigations games, to not feature any trial day and I have mixed feelings about it. one hand I do appreciate them trying to do something different and I think it was a good way to really utilise the new observation and deduction gameplay and get used to it. the whole plot did become quite tedious to me at the end where they’re all just standing around in a room going “well I think this is what happened” without the feel, gameplay or even visual presentation of a trial. like for the last like… hour and a half of this I was really just waiting for it to be over.
not to mention the mystery itself just isn’t all that compelling. once again, ryunosuke is the accused and once again, the person who actually did it is the innocent looking young lady archetype. and it was caused by a series of accidents, even, there’s not a lot of substance to what actually happened in the end. I think you could maybe make the argument that both cases 1 and 2 having these similarities could be a way to parallel sholmes and ryunosuke perhaps since in case 1 the victim is wilson and in case it’s kazuma but even taking that into account it’s just… not that interesting to play out.
with the vague spoiler I know, I suspect this whole case is probably just set up for things that are going to happen later but even if we need that set up… it was still a lot to sit through. that payoff better be immaculate. because honestly in both this playthrough and my first I feel like at this point I still haven’t gotten to the game proper. I still haven’t had a full investigation-trial experience from this game and because of that I constantly feel like something is missing from this experience idk.

DQ onscreen chat anon here, i mostly watch VODs so idk what chat gets up to and i am now Terrified to know what is going on in there
haha it's really not bad most of the time, all jokes aside. the most common issue we have is people backseating and the occasional fandub fan kid who comes in like "HI SONIC did you HEAR WHAT EGGMAN DID :)"
i just nowadays like having a bit more control as to what is "featured" on my streams where i can help it! i keep chat in the pre-stream because by design the whole setup is very conversational so it helps to have it as a frame of reference, but during gameplay or other content it's a bit more nuanced and i like having more minute control over the final VOD experience. this is also why a while back i elected to remove TTS from donation messages. it's a much smoother experience on my end overall and helps me make sure my commentary and the stream energy is as good as it can be :)

Everyone i’ve spoken to seems to like Tears of the kingdom better than Breath of the wild but like… i don’t know, i just don’t think it’s anywhere near as compelling to me. there’s moments of brilliance sometimes, but on the whole i always found myself just missing the more restrained and quiet story + atmosphere of botw. it just doesn’t do it for me artistically and it was disappointing! but sometimes i feel like i’m the only one who thinks so.
Like. okay. gameplay wise there’s many arguments to be made about totk over botw. but that’s not really what i’m talking about? artistically speaking, i just could not connect with totk’s story and themes as much as i did botw. oftentime the story of totk felt… almost sloppy, to me! it felt like they had a lot of ideas and not all of them made it into the final product and it was a worse story for that. or that what did end up in it weren’t anywhere near as carefully considered. and when compared to how reserved but developed botw felt as an experience in melancholy — i don’t know, i find it remarkable that people praise totk’s narrative as much as i’ve seen them do. visuals, yes! gameplay, absolutely! but the narrative and story? i don’t know. maybe i’m just wrong, or there’s something of note that just is not clicking for me, or i’m overestimating how much the average person even cared about botw’s story to begin with. if i had to guess it’s probably the last one. but botw on the whole felt a lot more like a story the dev team were writing About legend of zelda as a franchise and the isolation of being the one true hero, as opposed to moreso feeling like someone asked “hey wouldn’t it be cool if” and not caring much if it gelled with anything else or the previous work.
maybe my opinion is formed out of how much more — i guess sparse? botw was. it’s easier to find meaning in absence than in something that’s there and is maybe just kind of not clicking. but idk, i will always and forever prefer botw to totk, even as it lacks so much of the awesome features totk introduced. it’s not bad, i was just disappointed

Srry to send you an ask like this cause you get a lot of them but would you mind elaborating on your DOOM 2016 take?
Last month I read a 2017 article talking about how it was anticapitalist, because it featured a company that was so obsessed with their own wealth and possessions, that it did not stop when their interplanetary ransacking for resources starting summoning actual demons from actual hell, and it went on about how your role as player is satirical in and of itself because you're assisting this company, and because of the ambiguous and divining wording the company uses and actually the article is "DOOM como parodia del neoliberalismo y la postverdad" because I'm not sure I can properly explain it, and I wanna know if it was like bullshit or smth idk
first of all dont be sorry about sending an ask asking for my opinions on something (as long as you're being nicey about it). if i didn't want to give any i just wouldn't answer the ask, innit!
anyways i personally have always been uninterested in analyzing the stated, explicit politics of DOOM 2016 because i feel like DOOM 2016 itself is uninterested in that--like, one of the game's most iconic moments is when an NPC is explaining the plot to the player character and mr. doom smashes the screen he's talking to him through to pieces with punches. which i think sends a pretty clear message about how the creators of DOOM 2016 think of their game, as a gameplay experience first and a narrative work second.
but anyways--the answer is that you don't ever have to commit to a metaphysical position that a work definitionally 'is' something and therefore 'is not' something else. readings are lenses of analysis--you can apply them in combination or separately as you see fit. which is not to say that every reading is equally valuable: some readings do not produce any useful analysis and entirely lack explanatory power. but 'DOOM 2016's plot is critical of capitalism' and 'the central genre premise of DOOM 2016 is predicated upon a reactionary fantasy' are not absolute truths that are in conflict with one another, but rather different toolsets that can be used to produce an analysis of the game--and not even ones that i think are mutually exclusive!
#sojovito#ask#want to clarify also that i think readings that i disagree with can still be productive in terms of provoking thought and analysis

2023 completions
welcome to the 2023 edition of my ramblings about video games i completed this year!! including even more unwanted opinions and even less coherency
total games: 37
09/01 - Sam & Max Save the World - 8/10
sam and max, freelance police, begin a long string of investigations involving hypnotised celebrities, sentient computers, and conspiracies that go all the way to the TOP, baby
startin the year off good game wise then!! tbh i started this one in 2022 but it didnt make that list cause i just.. wasnt in a game playin mood towards the end i guess fghj but anyway!! really liked this one, ive seen a few mutuals who like this series so i was excited to play it and it was a lot of fun :] defo an old school point and click game and i rly liked the main characters themselves and the supporting cast!! glad theres another remaster i can jump into right after this one
11/01 - Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil In Me - 8/10
the crew of lonnit entertainment are invited to a recreation of the infamous murder house, the stomping grounds of americans first serial killer, h h holmes. they are hoping the location will help save their documentary, but will you be able to save... THEIR LIVES??
i feel like every dark pictures game becomes my fave dark pictures game as they come out, but this one really was Very Good. i can confidently say this is probably the most scared ive been while playing a supermassive game Ever. the characters, while dysfunctional, grew on me a lot over the course of the game which made keeping them alive even more nailbiting :’] speaking of, the deaths in this one were Particularly gruesome imo, just from a concept standpoint, so big kudos for that too!! my only gripe is that i think the new “features” such as puzzle solving and traversal mechanics just artificially prolonged the runtime without actually adding anything to the experience
15/01 - Sam and Max Beyond Time and Space - 7/10
even more weird shit is afoot in the second sam and max game, this time our duo facing off against T-H-E-M, the bermuda triangle, and satan himself!! ... or was it santa??
2 sam and max games in one month, this may have detrimental effects on my brain :’] but really, i liked this one too!! not as much as the first, but i still liked the characters and overall story, i liked how it all connected to both the previous game and the events through this one. i found some of the puzzles a bit more difficult and obtuse, but they were still fun. another fun point and click game (tho somewhat dated in some cases fghjk)
18/01 - Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments - 5/10
the game preceeding sherlock holmes: the devils daughter, which i completed last year, follows the titular character once more, solving 6 of his cases along with his partner dr john watson
eh, not much to say about this one. i certainly prefered the devils daughter, but that one was also kinda meh fghjk. with this one being an older game, the graphics and gameplay were a bit more janky, and i guess theyd changed voice actors for sherlock since this game cause i didnt like his voice in this one tbh. that being said, mystery wise id say its abt on par with the devils daughter. yeah, again, not much to say really :’]
24/01 - Psychonauts 2 - 10/10
a mole in headquarters, an evil from the past is rising again, and even MORE figments hidden in really obscure places... another day at the psychonauts office :V raz once again must delve into various brains to figure out what the Fuck is goin on
okay this game was literally so fkn good in every aspect. visually stunning, amazing story, brilliant characters both new and returning... GOD!!! what the first game did well, this one blew it CLEAN out of the water, i loved it a lot!! like idk what else to even say, it was just such a solid game i cant think of much to critisise :’]
04/02 - AI: The Somnium Files - 3/10
kaname date works for the police force for a department unknown to the general public, using groundbreaking technology, he delves into the minds of suspects and uncovers clues using their own memories. when a body shows up resembling a victim of a serial killer from a cold case, he begins his investigation
... man... spike chunsoft rly just know how to make characters that grate on me fghjk for starters ill praise the original concept and interesting story (when it finally got around to being revealed), but i disliked/was uninterested in most of the characters and thought the tropes they kept using were annoying and just plain weird. im not fully sure Why this game was a branching path type game since it never really plays into the plot and the main story could have easily been told with a single storyline. overall, didnt rly enjoy this one, but what can ya do they cant all be winners :’]
13/02 - Sly Cooper and the Thievious Raccoonus - 5/10
sly cooper, youngest descendent of the illustrious cooper thief clan, had his familys secrets stolen when he was just a lad. now he sets out to retrive what was taken from him and beat up some bad guys as he does
i gotta commend this game for the humour and the creativity with it, and im defo lookin forward to playing the rest of these games based off this one, but i think this first entry suffers from a lot of Jank that made it quite frustrating to play :’] also, there wasnt any way to mute anything except the music or adjust the volume so it would routinely blow the FUCK out of my eardrums. that bein said tho, still fun, very quick game, but im keepin it a low rating cause im expecting to like the later ones better :’]
26/02 - Hidden Agenda - 2/10
the infamous “trapper” killer makes a final confession while counting down the days on death row, claims he never killed anyone and he can help lead the police to exactly who did. detective becky marney must investige this case one more time and decide if hes lying, or if the killer is still afoot
im so so SO sorry to my friends who like this game but besties.... why fghj for starters i was locked out of playing it for almost 2 years when the app you are REQUIRED to use in order to play this thing just stopped working, and when i finally did start playing the jank didnt stop with just the app. the whole game seems to be a broken mess with textures flickering in and out, characters walking thru solid objects, its MADNESS. the story and characters are so.... not interesting :[ it takes only 2 hours to do a full runthru of the story so i never rly grew to care abt them and theyre so flat anyway that i didnt Want to. if it wasnt so clearly rushed i think itd be good, and some of the acting is actually rly stellar, but overall...... its a no from me
04/03 - Minecraft - minecraft/10
its minecraft
technically i already got the plat ages ago but this year i finally got the coveted 100% so.... yeah ;w; i mean we all know what minecraft is so like...... idk what to say abt it guys, u already know how good it is (tho the console version is Vasty inferior to pc)
05/03 - Death Stranding - 8/10
after a world ending catastrophe dubbed the death stranding wiped out modern life as we know it, humanity is scattered across america. its up to sam porter bridges, post apocalyptic delivery man, to travel across the country and unite those that remain
depsite how confusing this game was, and how slow it was paced, and how fkn damn weird it was half the time, i still had a lot of fun playing it :’] i enjoyed the characters, tho wish certain ones had more limelight, i enjoyed the actual gameplay, tho by the end game i was finding it a bit Too repetetive, and i found the story rly interesting, when i could understand what was going on fghj so basically for every good thing i liked, it was countered by something, tho they are fairly small things. also the ending cutscene is an hour n a half long and i was fkn 3 am when i was finally allowed to exit the damn game so, u know, beware of that
10/03 - Ratchet & Clank - 7/10
young mechanic ratchet, with his new buddy clank, join the galactic rangers in stopping the blargs from destroying countless planets in order to build their own
another game thats been on my backlog for ages, im glad to have this one done and dusted :’] i certainly had fun playing it, but i feel like it was a bit Too kiddy in some places for my personal taste (dialogue and humour wise that is, but since this was also made by insomniac of spiderman fame, it makes sense) and after a certain point the game becomes piss easy with all the upgrades u get, but i still enjoyed it
03/04 - Sly Cooper 2: Band of Thieves - 5/10
sly and his pals return to their thieving ways after learning that the infamous klaw gang have begun reassembling parts for slys arch nemesis; clockwork. they travel across the globe to stop them
man my descriptions are getting worse fghj but anyway, as with the first game, i rly enjoyed the characters!! and the music, and... thats pretty much it. i really dont know what it is about these sly games that i just cant seem to enjoy the gameplay but i Really Really dont have fun while playing them :[ which is a shame cause, like i say, great characters that id like to spend more time with. if this was supposed to be the best in the series, i think im gonna give the 3rd and 4th games a miss for now, but maybe ill come back to them in the future
29/04 - Last Day of June - 7/10
a short game depicting a young couple named carl and june, and the tragedy surrounding their relationship
this game doesnt actually have a plat, which is something im trying not to be too picky about going forward in terms of playing games, but even tho this game was super short i really liked it!! the story is rly simple but incredibly sad, and even though theres a lack of “voice acting” in the traditional sense, there was still a lot of great emotive acting in this. that being said, the fact some of the voices sounded so odd detracted from the seriousness of the plot sometimes, and the actual gameplay was kinda boring, but still a solid short game :]
29/04 - Predator Hunting Grounds - 1/10
DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME
OH THE AGONY OH THE PAIN OH THE HOURS OH THE WASTED YEARS THE WASTED YOUTH THE PRETTY LIES THE UGLY TRUTH
and i dont like it >:[
03/05 - Linger in Shadows - 1/10
this... isnt even a game apparently
i had it on my list of things to check out while i had the ps plus premium thinking it Was a game, but its not. its a strange kind of “art” thing according to the guide i used. i didnt rly know what was going on fghj. certainly a unique experience i suppose but nothing id recommend u go out of ur way to do, even if it takes literally 10 minutes to get all the trophies (no plat either)
08/05 - Kurushi - 2/10
ps1 puzzle game, another one from the ps plus catalogue
not much to say abt this one again fghj seems like these last few games have been kinda duds huh :’] ah well, theres certainly better games on the horizon i suppose. as said, this is just some puzzle game from the ps1, janky controls and all. the music is surprisingly good, sounds almost like disney instrumentals :’] not that fun without assisstance tbh
09/05 - The Gardens Between - 6/10
a very short puzzle game following 2 friends exploring a strange series of islands that tell the story of their friendship
when i say short i Mean short. like even without a guide i got this completely done in 2 1/2 hours, and that included me leaving the game on while i went to get something to eat from the kitchen. that being said, its a very cute game!! i enjoyed the puzzles, the style is nice and Capital-I-Indie, the musics nice and relaxing. the story was also nice, if sad, (can i say nice a few more times??? nice nice nice nice) but i just think this game is Wayyyy too short dfghj i think a lot more could have been done with it :’] glad i didnt pay the full 15 for this as it would have been a bit of a rip off
09/05 - Nelson Tethers: Puzzle Agent - 8/10
fbi agent tethers is sent out to the minnesotan town of scoggins to investigate the local eraser factory shutting down
damn we’re just flying thru em now huh! ive actually played and 100%’d this game before on steam, as well as its sequel so i suppose im a little biased :’] but i rly like this game!! another short one, and another puzzle one, but i rly love the art style and story, as well as the puzzles being fairly simple but still fun!! its a shame the second game never made it to ps or id complete that one too but yeah, fun and simple puzzle game, defo recommend :] like most games like this tho, i wish it were longer
11/05 - ABZU - 6/10
you are a diver on a journey through the ocean, discovering the creatures that inhabit the waters
short n sweet indie game (anotha one) and this one was pleasant!! i rly liked the style and music, the story was simple but told fairly well, and just overall a nice game :] beyond that, not much to say tho fghj defo a very pretty game, and id recommend if you have an interest in marine life n such, but beyond that its pretty bog standard indie game
11/05 - The Pedestrian - 5/10
a short puzzle game where you traverse various signs as the tiny person within them
pretty straight forward puzzle game with a Weird ending that i dont quite understand fghj but overall it was enjoyable :’] most of these quicker games ive been playing lately have been super quick puzzle games so i might be getting burnt out on them, but even then i can appreciate the creativity of this one. its also another game with no plat which, considering it came out not 3 years ago, is kind of annoying
14/05 - Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons - 4/10
two brothers venture on a quest to find medicine for their sick father
another short puzzle game, with a pretty interesting feature!! you control each brother with an analogue stick each, which can make coordination in some parts quite tricky if ur me fghj overall a pretty decent game, the story was kinda meh for me but i thought the gameplay was interesting, not much else tho
20/05 - Bloodborne - 6/10
the town of yharnam is crawling with beasts and hunters alike. fight through the corrupted streets and discover the fetid depths of this city and all the inhabitants trying super duper hard to kill you
im editing this from when i first wrote it after immediately finishing the game because i was cranky and frustrated because i cant in good faith give this game a score lower than 5 (mainly because i know the fromsoft fans would dox and kill me). this game is visually very nice, in the sense that it looks Horrible, which fits the vibe. the gothic style along with the monsters are really unique and detailed to the point where some of them are hard to look at. that being said, i personally didnt like this game. at all. i know on a “technical” level its very good, but i struggled for a Long Time to “git gud” as it were and surprisingly, dying a million times because you cant dodge within a 1/2 second window before being stun locked to death GREATLY decreased my enjoyment of this game. and thats all im gonna say about it :V
21/05 - Black Mirror - 4/10
following the suicide of his father, david gordon returns to scotland from india to inherit his familys estate. however, there are strange mysteries surrounding this house and the family who occupy it
pretty short horror/puzzle game that was pretty light on both the horror and puzzles fghj tho this game had a surprising amount of animation that looks fairly good which was a nice surprise. the characters were fine, and the story started out quite interesting but just felt a bit... weird. especially the ending, the final climax is basically just a bunch of qtes that ends really abruptly with little push back from the villain :’] for a free game i guess i cant complain too much
23/05 - Vampyr - 8/10
dr johnathan reid, recently turned vampire, has just returned home to london after serving as a field medic during the war. the streets are crawling with rogue vampires, and an epidemic is spreading quickly through the city, all while johnathan is searching for his maker
FINALLY A GAME I ENJOYED. GOD. okay so this was surprising because ive heard a lot of people call this game p mid, and maybe id think the same if it wasnt preceded by a whole bunch of Crap ive recently played, but here we are!! i really loved the chracters, i thought they were all fun and interesting, even the ones we dont meet for too long, and i also found the story super compelling!! the game Does have a bit of jank to it, with weirdly long loading times (even on the ps5) and the occassional graphical error, but otherwise i rly enjoyed this one :]
31/05 - Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart - 9/10
seperated after dr nefarious begins ripping holes into other dimensions, ratchet and clank must team up with another lombax named rivet and stop the universes from collapsing altogether
man this game was so fun!! i got the whole thing done and dusted over the course of 2 days :’] the writing was still a bit cheesy for me, and as implied the play time is Outrageously low for the steep price (which i thankfully avoided cause ps plus), but the gameplay itselt was Incredibly fun and engaging!! defo a huge step up from the first game in this reboot series. i also rly loved rivet so that certainly helped :’]
02/06 - Lake - 5/10
meredith weiss, a successful programmer, moves back to her childhood town of providence oaks to fill in her her dad at his post office job. deliver mail to the residents of this lakeside town and decide how meredith wants to end her 2 week stint
pretty cute indie game i got through ps plus, i kinda wish the whole thing Was just a post delivery simulator :’] the characters are okay, the storys okay if a little eh.... i wanna say Loose?? like the plot beats (if u can call them that) feel kinda boring n half arsed. theres also a random romance option in this which feels?? out of place and doesnt actully impact anything that much. overall its an okay game, like i say the thing i found the most fun was driving around delivering post but maybe thats just my autism showing :V
13/06 - PowerWash Simulator - 10/10
i mean... kinda does what it says on the tin guys
is a 10 a bit generous?? maybe. do i particularly care?? absolutely not. this game is a 10 if ever there was one. i truly dont know how else to sell this if the idea of cleaning stuff with a powerwasher isnt immeditely appealing to you like, maybe You’re the problem :V this game also has a weird amount of lore?? which is also v fun fghj so do with that info what you will
19/06 - LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean - 7/10
a lego retelling of all 4 pirate movies, with all the usual lego bells and whistles
pretty typical lego game, so the gameplay and stuff is p fun!! ive actually never seen these movies so i didnt rly know what was goin on half the time, especially because this is an Older lego game so theres zero voice acting in this. i also had quite a few crashes and bugs while playing where i had to restart either the level or the whole game, which got annoying during the cleanup grind. overall tho, cant go wrong with a lego game tbh
17/08 - Chicory: A Colorful Tale - 9/10
after all the colour in the world disappears out of nowhere, you must go on a quest across the picnic province to restore it using a magic paintbrush
you may notice the significant time gap between the last game and this one and uhhhh ngl folks i was Not Gamin dfghj i was Tired n a lil Sad but eh what can ya do, but this was a great game to come back with!! absolutely loved this one, super adorable art style and gameplay that reminded me a LOT of toem, very similar vibes but this game is much longer imo. id give it a perfect 10 if the collectibles weren’t so horrid to find fghjk but other than that cant recommend this one enough!!
29/08 - Observation - 7/10
dr emma fisher wakes up after the space station on which she resides undergos a catastrophic failure. take control ships ai, S.A.M., and attempt to reboot the systems and find the crew, who have all mysteriously disappeared...
rly quite liked this one!! the fact u control the ships ai is a pretty interesting feature and made the interface really cool and sci-fi lookin, defo alien inspired on that front. i liked the story, even if it Did get a bit confusing, and the voice acting was also pretty stellar!! gotta dock points for some classic indie game Jank, and the fact that there isnt a whole lot goin on gameplay wise (p much entirely minigames that arent that well explained to you that u only end up doing once) but the story and overall eerie atmosphere rly saved it for me
31/08 - OMNO - 5/10
short indie game where u travel through a mystical world, solve puzzles, and meet extraordinary animals
theres indie games and then theres Indie Games, u know?? this is the latter. and thats not a bad thing!! it just means its kinda... predictable. usual fare of no voice acting, gorgeous music, simple but stylised graphics etc etc. it was pretty cute and the puzzles were fun, but some of the controls felt a bit clunky and like i say, a little boring story wise imo (but maybe ive just played too many of these types of games). perfectly middle of the road :’]
03/09 - Tacoma - 7/10
you have been sent on a mission to retrieve the ai from a ship where all the crew have seemingly vanished (sounds a bit familiar huh?? all sci fi is the same (affectionately)). explore the ship and piece together what happened to everyone
anotha one, anotha sci fi indie game :’] rly liked the story of this one!! and it was an interesting mechanic to be able to view scenes of the crew via an AR system, and then also view their files and such. despite their limited appearances, all the crew members were interesting and unique, and no spoilers but it made the ending and its lead up a lot more exciting and intense. gotta dock points for how Glitchy this game was, it crashed at one point and started stuttering so bad i had to restart it manually, and also for how short it is. still, good story, good characters
06/09 - Chicken Police: Paint it RED! - 8/10
a gritty noir point and click detective game where u play as the infamous sonny featherland, one half of the crime fighting duo, chicken police. after a nervous dame shows up on his doorstep about her mistress recieving vague threats, he realises hes gotta take just one last case
anthropamorphic detective chickens..... played TOTALLY straight, mind you. like i was actually totally blown away by this game fghjk its Completely voice acted for one, and its Pretty Fuckin Good voice acting too, the story and mystery is Really interesting, the world its set in is super gritty and deep despite how little its kinda touched on through the story, i was very surprised!! i think the ending and reveal were a bit uhh.... abelist, not to get too into spoilers, but for a noir story i guess its par for the course. still, enjoyed this one!!
08/09 - The Testament of Sherlock Holmes - 5/10
a mutilated bishop, a deadly poison, and some other shady bullshit, its another sherlock holmes game
this is actually the oldest game in the series thats avilable on ps, ive kinda gone about playing these in the exact wrong order :’] that being said, i do think this is my Least favourite of the 3 ive played thus far. like crimes & punishment, this game also has plenty of jank, and the voice acting is a lil ehhh stiff for my taste. the puzzles were fine, the story was fine, overall just Fine. this game follows 1 case rather than multiple like its sequels do
10/09 - Garfield Kart: Furious Racing - 4/10
basically a mario kart clone but with garfield :]
now i am not one who loves racing games. in fact i suck quite badly at them. so u may wonder why i have a racing game in this list and well?? im ngl i bought this game as a meme and it ended up being so hard i had to put it down for a while dfghj BUT i came back to it and after hours of sweatin and gamer rage i DID IT!!! but at what cost. the game is fun, it looks nice, tho the only real garfield references it Has are its racers, the courses are kinda bland and generic. also the trophies...... my GOD the trophies..... not even a plat btw hhhh anyway if u like racing games check it out but if u Dont then DONT
17/09 - The Last of Us: Part 1 - 8/10
in the fungusy zombie apocalypse, smuggler joel is tasked with taking an immune girl, ellie, to a group of freedom fighters to create a cure. a remake of a remake :’]
obviously its good. i mean cmon. i remember watching a playthru of the OG og game wayyy back when so i kinda knew all the plot beats, but playing it myself in this beautiful 4k ps5 remake was Glorious (dont get me wrong, i think it was totally unnessesary to remake it AGAIN but it do look pretty). i can certaily see why this game has such a cult following and got the reception it did. maybe a Tad overhyped?? maybe a tad. but still good!! gameplay is solid, story is solid, characters are solid, whats not to like?? docking points for the frankly OBSCENE price point (luckily i got mine Mega cheap but go-LLY)
03/10 - The Last of Us: Part 2 - 10/10
after a devastating loss, ellie begins a gruelling quest for revenge and runs the risk of not only losing the ones she loves, but herself as well
i mean. fuck me guys. fuck ME. if the first game is good then this one is straight up glorious. the story is Vastly improved, so much tension and grey morality and Bone Deep Agony, emotionally and physically. its just such a hugely better game, both story and gameplay wise with a Bunch of new features and they arent afraid to take you to Extremely dark places with characters we already love and brand new ones too. this games going to be sitting with me for a long time i feel
and thats it for 2023!!
kinda fell off the gaming wagon in the final few months of this year due to a variety of reasons, but lets hope i can keep gettin games off the ol’ backlog in the new year :]

Probably a silly question but idk much about it so which pokemon mystery dungeon do I start with
oh! any youd prefer! theyre all disconnected from each other as stories so Technically theres no Real Proper Order, buuuuuut. im hard fixated on this series so ill vouch for em individually via the differences i know :]
red/blue rescue team: red is on gba, blue is a ds port. im not sure th proper difference there? theyre just a really good time, nod nods. only caveat is that its the first in the series, and there were some Serious QoL fixes in th next few games ''> > like significantly more inventory space, better movesets, better recruit mechanics... which is to say, start here if you dont wanna backtrack and experience The Horrors like i did. being a gen3 game it does Not hold back on u imo.. has a lot of fun postgame stuff if you really love the gameplay.
explorers of sky: typical fan favorite iirc! (technically the successor to time/darkness, but it has More Stuff and More QoL. the mildly adjusted one.) my personal favorite also. surprise surprise. has an entire games worth of postgame AND sidestories featuring the npcs. it is so full of love ok. a very good place to start if you just want a good taste of the series as a whole imo. also FOOTPRINT MINIGAAAMEEEEEE ‼‼‼‼🎉🎉🎉🎉
gates to infinity: divisive. i personally loved it, but its gameplay Is a bit different from th previous ones. iirc a bit shorter too? it also almost solely features unovan pokemon in terms of Actual Recruits n such, so its a much smaller roster. still made me deeply emotional tho, i do not stand for gti slander in this house. just a sliiight bit of a toneshift, for lack of a better descriptor.
super mystery dungeon: ok so i havent actually. played this one yet... ''> > but! its the second up there in terms of Dearly Beloved By Fans asfar as i know, BUT. id recc playing this one after any others tbh, just bc it seems like itd hit a bit harder that way. but thats just personal (uneducated) opinion, and you can certainly just beeline here if u want. nothing stopping ya. o7
as a little tip for all of these, uh. 1) reviver seeds are your friend, 2) you mostly cant evolve till endgame, so dont pick purely on final evo if youre intent on Picking your starter rather than taking the quiz result, 3) bring room control moves/items for the love of god monster houses dont PLAY.
#petrify/slumber/escape orbs are your friend. always have atleast one ok. trustme#u do Not wanna lose ur good items bc rng spawned u in a monster house room. ok o7#um um. if u want any more technical advice i can also give it; for explorers. that is a proper special interest of mine--#--and it turns out a lot of my baseline knowledge is obscure shit to most other people so um um. waha o7 im open KJSNFKJD#piktalk#i also know literally nothing abt super so im kinda completely useless on that regard.. ill. ill get to it >w> KJSNFKD

gen 3 has really transformed for me in general in recent times. i started playing pokemon with gen 3 (specifically FRLG, but i did also play RSE and even colosseum as a kid eventually) and i was completely autistically in love with it, but was bullied for it pretty severely at school ("girls shouldn't like pokemon" or whatever, it was the early 2000s) and i didn't know anyone else in real life who was into pokemon, so i never got to do any of the link cable features, which were pretty essential for getting the full gen 3 experience - i couldn't even complete my kanto pokedex on FRLG no matter how many times i played it, i didn't have the hardware to trade with myself or anything
then gen 4 came out and revolutionized the series with wi-fi stuff, i remember literally getting emotional and crying when i tried the wi-fi plaza in PtHGSS for the first time because seeing so many people into pokemon from all over the world in that little lobby meant the world to me even though i couldn't actually speak to anyone. despite pokemon being such a massive franchise you could have convinced child me that i was practically the only person playing it because of how lonely i had been prior to gen 4
i reiterate this Sad Backstory(tm) that i've talked about numerous times to contrast it with what gen 3 is to me now. as an adult i've finally made friends who are also into pokemon and it's really made me come out of my shell, both online... and in person, when i get the chance. gen 3 now represents tangible experiences with real people like it was supposed to be when i was a kid. despite not getting to do so often due to all my friends being online and having to travel and stuff, as an adult i've finally done a few trades and stuff with people in real life over link cable, and those pokemon represent physical, real life memories. it is meaningful to me that i've finally reached that childhood dream of simply connecting with someone enough to play with them in this game that means so much to me that is only possible through a real life interaction
i've also learned a lot about gen 3's postgame, glitches, and a lot of other really technical stuff which has expanded my ability to play the games and the things i can do in them other than resetting ruby or leafgreen for the millionth time as a child and as a result i have a lot of playtime in gen 3 and various accomplishments that i'm still very proud of and happy with. and of course i have a pokemon that was name after my late friend who passed away recently, that was named that while he was still alive...
idk it's just ironic that something that once represented my lack of connection with people and my loneliness now fills me with feelings about real people who i love and memories of meeting them in person, literally the opposite of before.
hoenn specifically obviously represents that generation and while i still have some complaints about the main campaign (the latter half of hoenn is a genuine slog, i rarely enjoy playing through it) my experience in emerald's postgame and the general online nerd culture surrounding people still playing gen 3 very actively in current times far outweighs any critical complaint i could have about them as games. my love for gen 3 and hoenn is very people oriented (though really, that gen 3 postgame is amazing if you're insane about pokemon gameplay)
idk i love gen 3 a lot and the tactile nature of it. i love its aesthetic and its pokemon but most of all the people it represents for me. i'm glad i've reached a point in my life where it no longer represents loneliness

my concern with warframe is that I feel to some degree they have decentered storytelling as the point of the game narrative and it's now mostly a new gameplay delivery feature. The New War for example was extremely impressive technically but not particularly coherent. The (mostly unjustified) continued existence of Ballas specifically prevented this whole thing from being particularly impactful because well at this point we've come to expect everything to be his fault. The extremely time-compressed total takeover of the System contrasts very harshly with the normal extremely slow development of events within the game world and breaks with the previous perspective of the Tenno primarily as discoverers of the little secrets of the world for themselves, witnesses to the grander events. For all the things handled in the New War it can't seem to progress anything. The Sentients are again reduced to an alien invader (albeit manipulated) rather than bothering to in any way explore their unique tragedy. Once again they are all collectively adrift, while their culture and history is alien. There is insane potential in exploring what went on as a society of builders built to be adaptable was forced to adapt to war. Their experience of death is particularly flimsy, but now we're arguing with ghosts in ancient Orokin labs while yet another hubristic Orokin now tries to change time itself. Praghasa presumably sits just as dead as before orbiting the Sun, Hunhow's speaking corpse now has no company in the seas of Uranus since the disappearance of the Stalker, and the Sentients are presumably just hanging around. IDK.

"📩 Simblr question of the day: according to you, what are the most underutilized gameplay features in the sims games you played, dlc included?"
Sharing the SQOTD from @simblr-question-of-the-day. I really liked this question because I'm excited to get more gameplay ideas.
Also, you talked about being busy recently so good luck with everything you are working on!
Yes I have been bit busier lately than I've been in a tick, but that's because I'm trying to be better about working on the book I'm writing!! But please continue to send asks and such, I'm still here and active just posting my own content a bit slower - but I'm still active and lurking about!
As for underutilized gameplay features...
I think the Club feature from Get Together is a really underutilized feature in the Sims. @sojutrait actually has a great guide up on their page that explains how clubs can be used for a more custom, immersive, hands-on gameplay experience.
I also think people don't realize how much fun the sales tables can be: I love doing "yard sales" to get rid of stuff in my sims home (for realistic gameplay), I love creating community lots filled with those sales tables to create a farmer's market/small community festival feel, and I love using them for my free-spirited, rancher, farmer, and homesteader sims specifically so they can sell their goods and rely on that income solely! Also you can create better custom food booths now with Home Chef Hustle and you can build a "food truck" OR like a pop-up ice cream stand at the park, for example. Idk it's just a fun feature to me, and exciting for those who don't think any of the rabbit-hole jobs suit their sim (or for those who want more flexibility in their sims' income without having to buy a whole ass additional community lot business).
The handiness skill as a whole is a gamechanger because of the "upgrade object" feature. The upgrades are actually super helpful and many of them will improve the functionality of the given object, will give custom moodlets, and will even help avoid disaster (fireproofing your dryer in the sims is a must... that shit catches fire if you look at it the wrong way lmaoooo).
The robotics skill is really cool and I love making the servos!! Cute little robot friend/family member and they can help around the house (crucial when you have big families, fun if you're going for a futuristic vibe or eccentric household).
Occults, in my opinion, are an underrated feature of the Sims. I think everyone should add some kind of weird, campy, supernatural shenanigans to their gameplay. Have your sim fall in love with a ghost; have your sim accidentally get bitten by a werewolf or vampire; befriend a mermaid; build a rocket in your backyard and go to space; get abducted and raise an alien; the possibilities are endless! Occults can shake shit up, especially if you're tired of vanilla, realistic gameplay.
FAMILY VACATIONS!!! HONEYMOONS!! FRIEND TRIPS!!! I love taking my sims on vacation and taking photos, making memories, etc. This feature is great too because you can get extended family members to go on vacation with your household and then it'll be a little family reunion (and you'll get moodlets for this as well that are like "The whole family is together" or something like that, it's really cute!). I think because you can literally travel to anywhere at any time without using the vacation feature this becomes really under-utilized, but it's a fun little thing to do!
Custom summer vacation holiday with seasons: depending on your lifespan/how you have your calendar days set up you can make it lasts a few days, a whole week, or even two weeks (so the kids can be off school during that time - I do one week in my saves). I just make the "mandatory events" swimming, grilling, spending time with family, stuff like that! Some days I literally have no mandatory events lol, just a day off school!
Honestly that's all I've got off the top of my head: I use a lot of mods and always have, so it can be hard for me to isolate what is a modded feature and what is just a part of the game itself! I hope one or more of these can help you spice your gameplay up a bit! Thank you for this question as always!!! <3
#I really do appreciate you sending me these! I know I say it every time but I'm going to keep saying it because it means a lot to me! <3#atfs ask#charsimsalot#sqotd

this game frustrates and disappoints me. please ignore if you like Frontiers but I need to vent
Okay, so let me get this straight. Frontiers already had pretty repetitive gameplay featuring a rather drab-looking open world with certain amounts of pop-in that draws attention to the draw distance.
I was already not inclined to play Frontiers because of the aesthetic, gameplay, and characterization. I'm sorry but this lighting is just Not Great. The enemy character design is Not Great. The writing is Not Great. I still feel like I'm looking at the end result of ST throwing darts at the wall.
But now this update comes, and it... makes the already repetitive gameplay ball-bustingly difficult and obtuse? I'm a masochist, true, but not a self-flaggellater. What reason do I have to even play this game? At least when I tried to play Sonic Shuffle, it offered a different experience, not just the worst parts of Eggmanland cranked up to 11.
Sonic gets a new form... Mkay. I thought Super Sonic with blue eyes was enough but not so, apparently. Some of this is giving off real DBZ But Furry/NGE But Furry vibes, and as someone who... just plain isn't interested in DBZ or NGE (I'm sorry, no shade to anyone who is)... it's... starting to alienate me. Like are these anime going to become required reading to appreciate the Modern series going forward. Do I have to watch things I don't want to watch in order to appreciate what Sonic is now. Okay. Also, I feel weird being an Adventure-era fan and having this game pander to what it assumes are my sensibilities, and it just... doesn't work. Nothing that is supposed to hit hits. It feels so forced, and yet I literally can't tell if it's just me or if I need to try to give it more of a chance in spite of not liking the game in general.
Oh and Eggman holds Sage's hand in the ending, so now the Eggdad crowd is going to become 200% more insufferable than before. Because something that had previously had a sliver of plausible deniability - though that's debatable, given he literally said "my dear daughter" in English but whatever, splitting hairs - is now being explicitly shown onscreen. No, no amount of "Eggman occasionally says lines that sound IC (when in actuality they sound no different from lines Pontaff wrote for him in terms of drawing attention to series convention, so idk why they're receiving praise all of a sudden)" is going to cut it for me, unfortunately. That's sandpapering over the real problem.
...I sound so old and crotchety lol

Wow. 10 generations. I've played this legacy for over 3,5 years (first post over at my old simbr).
It has been so much fun. I have during this time learned a lot about what kind of mods I want, how to use ReShade, how to edit etc.
I love playing legacies and I love "playing house". To see the families grow, see them go from small units and branch out to great family trees are so much fun.
I do notice a tendency for me to almost focus more on a family's relatives rather than the individual and I do hope to get to know my heirs better when I start my new legacy (I will probably always play legacies). I need to remember to focus more on them, and focus on who they are and tell their story more.
I also need to separate generations more. I have wanted to play the game in one long story, but I do think that it will serve me better to make the generations more "clear".
I hope to one day actually finish doing obituaries. I really liked them, but I often skipped over them when I was editing and posting. So I might eventually actually do them for the Vasa's and then place them in the right order (if anyone is to read this later). And I will continue with them as I continue playing.
Some Sims from this legacy that I will always remember fondly will be: Astrid, Kristina, Victoria and now Gunnel.
Astrid was almost an heir but the legacy continued through her brother Magnus. They had such a wonderful sibling-relationship as adults, because as children they didn't interact much and it was a spur of the moment to let Magnus and his family move into the house where Astrid lived with her uncle and his wife. But that turned otu great and I'm so happy I chose to do so. Astrid was my first sim to move out of Sulani and in a way started my journey throughout the worlds.
Kristina, Astrid's niece and the legacy heir was such a change in gameplay for me. She moved in with Anna (and her daughter Monica) and had a hard time settling somehow. They moved a lot and with her I got to experience Willow Creek, Glimmerbrook and eventually Henford-on-Bagley.
Victoria, her grand-daughter, didn't turn out as I had thougt but I am very happy for what she became. She and her twin-brother Carl shared so much of their lives and it was hard to let him go live his own life. Victoria and Mattias had a true up-and-down -relationship but their wedding is one of my favourites! (And when Mattias crashed in the garden)
And now Gunnel... ah gods. She is so up in her head with her love for yoga and healthy living. She lives in an area full of werewolves, in a house where they only eat home-grown food but no - the girl wants to go to the spa and encourage her friends to do yoga. Idk. I love her.
Also special shotout to Julia Vasa and her half-sister Monica who both decided to become witchy lesbian aunts. And talking about sisters: Susanne and Monica Chopra Vasa! Loved them. And I've always had a soft spot for Kaori Nishidake, the first MCCC-spouse. Last but not least - Marianne Tanaka. You super-star!
I have already begun my "next" legacy. It will feature Gunnel, but she has been moved to a new save. I have almost played most of her adult story, and it is great fun!
