Last night, my boss called me out of the blue (he’s never done that before. It was like, almost 9pm and my sister and I were out eating at a restaurant in Chinatown. Well, we’d just left tbh.) asking if I was “coming in today?” And if “I need my hours,” like man, what? And tried to joke about the times where I’d text him to ask if I should still come in because the weather is bad and I can’t work the pool if it’s raining. They literally know this. I’ve been sent home because of the rain at least 5 times now, bro, stop playing with me. He said some shit like “you aren’t just doing that as an excuse to call off, right hahah?” And I just feel like that since they want to fire me, he’s trying to come up with an excuse to do so. He tried to take a jab at me asking by about the weather as an excuse to go into possibly “calling off too much,” even though I’ve never missed a day of work since starting this location. The only days I’ve missed are the days where they’d send me home because of the rain and that one weekend because I was gone for vacation, so they can’t use my attendance at all. I’m late sometimes (only because I’m tired of this place, man. I’m so unmotivated but I need the money orz. The good thing is that the leasing agents and those in higher positions aren’t there on the weekends. Only maintenance and the concierges and they don’t give a shit. I doubt they’d tell on me about being late since most of the concierges hate it there, too. They could gaf.) but my boss sounded like he was trying to see if I was going to coming in today (why wouldn’t I? I’ve been working the weekend for weeks now, what are you talking about 🗿…) so that he could try to have someone new work the pool to give them a chance to get used to it so that they could push me out/ fire me. Jokes on them, I might just call up my main boss on Monday and tell her that I’d like a new assignment because the work place has become hostile and it is now, making me feel uncomfortable.)

#really don’t want to be here anymore #I was talking to one of the other concierges yesterday about what the manager has been up to since I haven’t seen her in weeks and one of #the other leasing agents came over and was like ‘do you have the pool sheets ^^?’ be in mind #none of them besides the actual property manager has ever asked me that before at all they usually don’t care and are always busy #so why are you walking over to the front desk asking me if I’m about to go up stairs when you’ve never done so before #I just stopped the conversation that I was having with the concierge and walked off #I feel like they’re all spying on me now bro it’s weird af #ease dropping on me complaining to other concierges and shit it’s weird #I know that the other concierges wouldn’t repeat what I’ve said to any of them since again #they aren’t too fond of manager at all either and some of them have called him racist even #idk man #I’m really uncomfortable #rambling #omw to work rn #I already know that today is going to be annoying #Saturdays are always the busiest day at the pool #kids screaming and shit #idm but sometimes I’m just like uhhh kill me bro #it’s mainly the heat that gets to me tho the kids are barely a problem tbh it’s usually the grown adults being rude and stuff

I can’t even imagine living without anxiety. Like. How. What?

#I mean if I woke up tomorrow with a normal amount of anxiety it would be a shocking difference to my daily life. and I am medicated!!! like.#what? am I missing something here?#my mom tells me that meds can only do so much and that they’re really just meant to make it so you can get out of bed every day #but now I’m wondering like is that true or is that my mom is on the wrong dose herself and something could be done to help us both #gahhhhh idk I just feel helpless bc I’m scared of making big changes and the big changes have to make are scary and large and I need a #bulleted list made of things I can do (and break down into very small steps) to actually progress in a positive way in my life instead of #being SO afraid and SO stagnant. it’s been six months since (ptsd diagnosis causing thing) and I don’t feel like I’ve made any progress even #with a therapist. I’m working towards a more intensive program but I feel like it’s almost making me feel more alienated bc I’d have to like #go be surrounded by other mentally ill people and medical people which brings dad dying trauma and like I know I’m running from it bc I’m #afraid to face the changes I need to make and the feelings that are going to come up but fuck man can’t I get some fucking meds that make #this easier to deal with!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! grief and ptsd and long term isolation and anxiety and chronic pain like fuck it’s #so exhausting!!!! I feel like I’m fucking fighting thru life and then from the outside it’s like I’m doing nothing cause I stay in my room #and get stoned and play animal crossing and watch tv and cry and over eat and sometimes I drive around in circles so I can scream sing until #my throat burns and I get a headache and everything finally quiets down in my head for a second. I know I look like I’m doing nothing and #that’s because I am doing nothing but waiting for the next time a mental health professional will talk to me for an hour like it’s so sad #anyways. you ever take a big dab and then start crying and type all of this like it’s an epiphany even tho it’s things you already know.#honestly crying in front of the air conditioner is so slay slight breeze over my face cooling the tears the white noise calming me down

this election feels so hollow even though it’s likely ostensibly gonna be a good outcome. labour really just sucks fucking ass rn huh

#if the tories lose bad enough to make lib dems the opposition though… a guy can hope #I think it’s the fact that this is the first general election I can vote in that’s making me lose my mind a little here #I have done basically nothing but read today. I DO know a whole bunch more abt voting systems and the nightmare the tories have been now tho #I’m just kinda like. okay so what happens next? bc labour WILL do some decent shit but they also. fucking suck.#planning to look into the local green party once I’m back at uni bc I could actually do stuff there #I think I’m just dealing with a little bit of whiplash going from doing a biology degree where Everything is about climate change #like unambiguously it gets brought up in every topic (I DO focus on ecology and agricultural stuff and not like genetics but still)#clear consensus from literally everyone you talk to that shit has to happen right the fuck now.#it’s not even like I’m unaware of the state of policy rn I KNOW it’s a nightmare to do anything but we at least TALK about it #and then this election where it’s barely a footnote. biggest thing is the sewage dumping everyone’s talking about and yeah fucking finally #but is that all you’ve got?? the labour manifesto is bleak. it has a section and the stuff they’re proposing isn’t bad but it’s so little #and yeah no they’ve changed the official line on the manifesto to ‘make Britain a clean energy superpower’#I SWEAR it was different a few days ago #maybe I’m being pessimistic bc their plans for clean energy if they actually do them could be huge especially if they manage it by 2030.#it’s just that I know what the targets are and they’re already pulling back on shit like EVs bc of the shift right and I am So Tired #two party politics is a curse. as much as reform is an actual nightmare them getting a decent vote share might actually be the thing that #gets people talking abt proportional representation again bc they are nothing if not good at being loud #did you know we had a fucking referendum in 2011 bc what the fuck. and it went SO BADLY even though people generally supported it #god idk I think I’m once again being naively optimistic about people and election coverage has been very good at knocking me down a bit #people generally are good. I have to believe this. but man the british public is making that really fucking hard #genuinely I think a good chunk of that is down to first past the post driving politics to be divisive and aggressive #like is it the only problem? fuck no. but it’s definitely poisoning the way this shit goes bc when all the parties do is jab at each other #what are we actually doing here #idk I’m gonna stop now but this is taking up a ridiculous amount of bandwidth rn I can’t wait for it to be over #already dreading what the next election could look like in 4 years if starmer continues to suck ass bc I don’t trust him to not like at all #luke.txt #I said i was done but I just looked at the lib dem manifesto and oh my god it’s actually pretty good on this? holy fucking shit

the way i was watching the season seven finale like oh this was meant to be the end of the show wasn’t it. and from looking it up what i could gather was that it was meant to possibly serve as a finale in case they weren’t renewed. and from having only watched ians story it was definitely wrapped up very neatly imo. like that would’ve made a lot of sense as a finale ending for him which like. i understand would’ve been a WILDLY unpopular ending (from what i have gathered browsing tumblr) but i do think as far as accomplishing what they were trying to do with his character in those seasons they succeeded.

like it’s clear they wanted to show him in a more stable place and meeting different types of gay people and changing as a person and figuring out his space in that world and stuff. and part of that was sort of officially closing the book on mickey. which. i don’t think it’s WRONG to argue that mickey is not the best person for him if he is focusing on growth and stability. so like i understand what they’re going for and i do think the accomplished that (especially compared to how clearly they were scrambling for what to do with him in the next season) even if it’s not what i would have done

i will say, and maybe this is amplified by only watching ian’s scenes so the pacing feels faster, but a lot of the relationships and change in general does feel a bit rushed? i think my main thing is i don’t get much sense of a personality from ian and it’s like. i suppose you could argue he’s also trying to figure that out but. idk i’m just like what is he like what are his interests what is the draw of him - besides being hot - for these guys who want to date him and stuff. like he feels like he changed very much very quickly from earlier seasons and if it HAD been the ending for him i would’ve felt a little bit like this guy is unrecognizable from who he idk. “really was” (in the sense that this kind of like normal relationship with these gays who don’t share his background is like. not ‘truly’ right for him. but of course they’re trying to show that that IS right for him now i just don’t feel like i know how we got there)??? but then i’m like well what WAS his personality in those earlier seasons…. wanting to join the army???? idk it just made me feel like for all i know about him As A Character in terms of how he acts and what he’s been through and stuff. it feels. to me at least. that there’s still a lot i don’t know about him just like As A Guy. and i want to. idk if there’s a conclusion to all of that just. thoughts and observations i suppose.

also there’s times in these seasons where it feels like ian’s story is very much being used as a mouthpiece to Educate The Audience (his speech about mental health and trans 101 with trevor) which just felt awkward and out of place in this show imo

#like i like trevor i love how much ian likes him #i think he was a relatively interesting character. they were able to make him a multifaceted person without a lot of time #especially if we’re looking at it in a ‘what if season 7 was the ending’ way #i think the implication of hey they might get back together ian really likes this guy. is nice :)#i would say his writing is not so good in the next season in a way that feels more like they’re not sure what to do with him #i don’t think he’s really a bad boyfriend and certainly not a bad person in the way i have seen people talk about here #i think the storyline just got weird and he kind of didn’t fit into it #if i was elliot fletcher i would’ve quit tbh. idk if he did i’m just saying.#anyway i think trevor is cool and nice im just like what did he like so much about ian besides his body #bc that man has the patience of a saint teaching him about trans shit #r.txt #this got so long and i am soooo sleepy do it might be incoherent too #shameless

here are some preliminary sketches I had done in my sketchbook for the peepaw chilchuck comic.

I wanted to follow it up with some worldbuilding thoughts I had while working on it, if that sort of thing is interesting to anyone:

- it’d take place 5ish years post-canon

- I changed almost everyone’s hair to show time had passed. Chilchuck and Kabru were the most drastic (I COULDNT STOP THINKING ABOUT THAT LONG HAIR KABRU THAT KUI DREW), Marcille grew out her bangs, Senshi’s beard is slightly shorter, and Izutsumi’s hair is mildly longer. Laios and Falin give me the impression that they’re the brand of neurodivergent that’d pick one haircut and stick to it for the rest of their lives. I almost gave Laios facial hair but idk he’s gotten over his daddy issue enough for that.

- Emertim Chils: I tried to follow both the half-foot and dwarven naming conventions for the baby, so Emer- comes from “emerald” (dwarven names are often gemstones or ore) and -tim because Chilchuck’s father’s first name was Tim :) Dwarves don’t have family names, so Emertim would take Chils, same as Flertom. Usually they’re named after their father but I didn’t wanna name a random dwarf man. thank you Chel for helping name him 🫶💕

- Initially the idea that Chilchuck would keep an entire grandchild a secret was just a joke, but it made sense when I thought about it. I wonder,, would dwarf/half-foot couples have trouble conceiving? Because if so, I’d imagine Flertom may have lost a couple pregnancies. Chilchuck is already such a private person, and I don’t think he’d feel comfortable airing his daughter’s grief like that. They wouldn’t wanna tell anyone until they were sure this baby was gonna make it.

- For the above reason, Chilchuck would absolutely spoil this kid. Not that he wouldn’t have spoiled his grandkids anyway, but I think after all that stress, he’d be extra extra doting. He’d be letting him do things he’d never DREAM of letting his own daughters do. Completely different parenting style.

- I think he’s still too prideful to take advantage of Laios being King (sidenote: is Laios even wealthy??? does a kingdom that sprung up from a previously-sunken continent even have money?? what the fuck is their economy), but like,,, if Laios offered any gifts he wouldn’t exactly say no.

- Izutsumi surprisingly really likes the baby :3 she’d like to take naps with him and he’d like her purrs and she’d have a lot of fun playing with him.

- SENSHI. meemaw mode. That kid would grow up not realizing Senshi isn’t technically one of his grandads. He is FEEEEEDING this kid.

- LAIOS DOES GET TO HOLD THE BABY!!!!!! just. eventually. They don’t actually expect a Tarrare situation LMAO they just wait until the kid is a little less fragile and a little more mobile. I think Laios would be really good with toddlers.

- Chilchuck is very thankful Emertim’s half-foot genes kick in sooner than later because he was getting too big for him to carry.

- Emertim would probably get the extended lifespan. He and Marcille would get to stay friends for a very very long time :’)

- my personal headcanon is that Chilchuck and his wife decide to split. He still loves her and it’s probably still a bit mutual, but after four years of almost no-contact, they decide their communication issues aren’t working well for their relationship. Plus, the Adventurer’s Bible says Chilchuck is renting their old house out to family, and he’d feel bad kicking them out so he and wife could move back in. They’d still be on good terms, and would be good at coordinating when to babysit.

“come here,” you tug neuvillette by the arm, shuffling closer, “i want to try something.”

neuvillette, for all his brilliance, doesn’t understand human customs—you can’t help but find it hopelessly endearing.

he doesn’t understand the concept of bringing you flowers. you’ve never minded, never mentioned it until one day, lady furina teases that he’s never brought you so much as a single rose. he questions you that day, innocent and curious and just a bit confused, if it’s normal to gift flowers, if they mean anything special. so you chuckle, kissing between his brows as you explain to him. he brings you them regularly from then on.

one time, he notices a couple holding hands, eyeing their intertwined fingers and swinging arms—you watch in amusement as he studies them for a while, watch him simmer in his thoughts before you chuckle and grab his own hand, squeezing gently. he makes sure not to let go for the rest of the day, making a point to tangle your fingers and guide you through the city. you realize after that day that he’s probably never felt someone’s body so close to his—and you decide you’ll have to change that.

“what…what are you doing?” he asks, looking at you confused. for a second you think he might be uncomfortable, and then you realize he really doesn’t know.

he’s certainly the most unique man you’ve ever dated.

“i’m cuddling you, of course,” you grin, resting your head against his sturdy chest as your arm loops around his neck. he sits stiffly on the couch, as if it’s his chair in the court, as if he’s not here to relax.

“and that is…?” he raises an eyebrow.

you giggle, shaking your head as you lean up and kiss his cheek affectionately. he’s adorable—quite uninformed about romantic affairs, but adorable all the same. and he tries his best, just for you.

“we hold each other, like this—” you explain, taking his arm and wrapping it around yourself. you shuffle closer, pressed tightly against his body as your hand finds his chest, “—and it’s romantic.”

“i see,” he nods, “i think…i think i understand.”

you’re pretty sure he does not understand—you chuckle to yourself as his forehead is still covered with those crinkles from his furrowed brows, the gears in his head working to try and figure out what makes you crave this. and then you start to rub circles into his chest, and the tension melts instantly from his shoulders…and then he thinks he does understand.

“isn’t it nice?” you murmur, cheek pressed against where his heart is as his hand lays on your hip—it’s warm, he thinks. you’re warm, and you’re close, and he can feel your heart beating from being so near. “we get to just feel each other, you know? and not worry about anything else.”

“but…your worries won’t disappear simply by holding—”

“oh, neuvillette,” you huff, “you always take things so literally. just relax, would you?”

“i’m sorry,” he says genuinely, as if he’s offended you by not understanding your cuddles. you look up at him fondly, cupping his cheek as you stroke a thumb over the soft skin.

“you don’t have to apologize, silly,” you peck his lips, trying to hold back the laugh that bubbles through your throat. and, if you’re not mistaken, you think there might just be a faint pout tugging at his corners of his mouth.

“now you’re laughing at me,” he frowns.
