So, you know how Darkseid is looking for the Anti-Life Equation? Well, Danny and the other Halfas are kinda Anti-Alive. Idk, my mind is going to how Thanos is trying to impress Lady Death in the weirdest ways possible (like killing half the universe or making her side piece immortal), and changing the names to Darkseid and Danny.

Darkseid attacking the earth was far from a rare occurrence. Usually his attacks were centered on the Justice League, but around every 1 out of 5 times he would just show up on a regular Tuesday with his army pouring through various Boom Tubes in every major city.

This wasn’t even the first time Darkseid had attacked like this since Danny had joined the League. The only difference was that instead of flying to Fawcett City to help Captain Marvel fight the invaders there, Danny had been in Gotham helping Bats and Diana with an artifact smuggling ring. The two of them immediately got in the Bat-Plane and headed towards Metropolis as fast as they could and Danny had been dragged along.

Darkseid was already holding Superman by the neck when they flew overhead. Diana jumped out to help Supergirl fight some messed up guy in a pink robe while the two Superboys were beating up an old lady. Batman gained Darkseid’s attention by firing missiles at the space tyrant which froze him to the ground and knocked the struggling Superman from his grip.

Darkseid’s glare followed the plane as it flew overhead. Then it started actually following as his Omega Beams burst forward.

“Hang on!” Phantom yelled, grabbing ahold of Batman and turning them both intangible just as the beams destroyed the plane around them.

He gently flew Bats on the ground. Bats did his customary grunt of approval he gave out if you saved him from certain death and ran to help the two heroines take out cloak man as Danny flew over to help take down the grandma. A few other heroes were focusing on keeping the Parademons flooding through the portal contained. Danny recognized a few, mainly Steel, Booster Gold, and Black Lightning, but there were even more that he didn’t.

He turned back to his own fight just in time to avoid getting hit by the old lady’s baton.

“Sorry, Grandma!” Phantom smirked, phasing through the attack. “Any chance I can let you pinch my cheeks and we call it a day?”

“Temping, porkchop, but an old lady needs her hobbies. And conquering planets is one of Granny’s favorites,” the old lady laughed swinging at him a few more times, only for each blow to pass through him like the last.

“Well, next time we’ll just invite you to bingo night,” Danny remarked, grabbing her wrist on the last blow and twisting it behind her back. The older Superboy tackled her through the Halfa as the younger one flew up high and plummeted feet first into her head, knocking Granny out.

The fighting seemed to be winding down. Diana had the guy in the pink robe tied up in her lasso while Batman ran over to help the Atom close the Boom Tube and Supergirl flew over to help her cousin fight Darkseid.

The only fight that was still going strong was Superman and Darkseid. Neither Titan was willing to bow to the other. Supergirl flew in between them, snapping Darkseid’s head to the side with a well placed kick. The space tyrant staggered for a moment before grabbing her leg and throwing her at Superman. The two Kryptonians fell to the ground in a tangle of limbs as Darkseid charged up his Omega Beams.

Danny didn’t even think. One second he was floating next to Jon and the next he had teleported in between the ruler of Apokolips and the two Kryptonians. He barely managed to throw up a shield in time. The Omega Beams shook the shield and kicked up dust around it, but Phantom gritted his teeth and managed to keep it steady. He only let the shield finally fall once the dust had settled.

“Impressive, child. Not even a Lantern Ring can shield from my Omega Beams. What are you?”

“You know, just a dead guy who doesn’t really know how to stay dead,” Danny chatted, keeping Darkseid’s attention on him. The portal was directly behind the tyrant. Wonder Woman and the Superboys threw their respective bad guys back through the portal.

“How can you be both dead and alive?” Darkseid asked. If he was confused, he didn’t let it show. Batman gestured at the two Supers behind Danny. They gave him a small nod and looked at the tyrant. Danny raised a hand to stop them.

“Back everyone up and cover your ears,” Danny whispered under his breath at a level only the four supers could hear. The Superboys quickly got everyone away from the portal while Superman and Supergirl gave him looks of confusion, but eventually relented. The entire time Darkseid’s attention was on Danny and Danny alone.

“Guess I’m just that stubborn,” Danny chuckled at the dictator. “I died, it didn’t fully stick, now here I am as a ghost.”

“Breathtaking.”

“You know what else is breathtaking?” Danny sucked in as much air as he could, not that he really needed it, and released a wail.

At once, all windows on the street shattered. Everyone covered their ears and the heart breaking cry sweep through the area. The Supers all collapsed to their knees, the sound even worse for those with super hearing. Tears threatened to spill from everyone’s eyes. Everyone but Darkseid.

The Dictator of Apokolips seemed almost stunned. Blood streamed from his nose and probably his ears, though those were hidden in his helmet. The sound waves slammed into him and he did nothing to fight back as the waves set him careening head over heels back towards the portal.

Darkseid barely managed to grab the edge of the portal and the wail stopped and Danny fell to his knees. White rings flickered around him and started to change him back into Fenton, but he managed to stop them before anyone could who wasn’t already looking could see. And the only one looking was Darkseid.

“Someone close the portal!” Batman yelled. All of the heroes staggered to their feet and tried to run to the Mother Box as Darkseid just stares at Phantom.

“Such beautiful cries of pain,” Darkseid muttered. His gaze never left the exhausted Phantom. He realized almost too late that the heroes were going for the Mother Box. He charged up his Omega Beams and shot them at the closest hero, Wonder Woman. She managed to ricochet them off her bracelets, but the beams kept coming back for her. The other heroes had to back up in fear of getting hit or getting in the Amazonian’s way.

Suddenly, a yellow blur swept through the area, knocking Diana out of the way are replacing her with an unconscious Parademon. A figure, this one white and red, landed on the Mother Box, destroying the device. Finally, a red blur ran in and punched Darkseid in the face, sending the tyrant careening through the closing portal.

“Sorry we’re late.” Flash chuckled, as a frustrated Kid Flash and Impulse stopped behind him. “What’d we miss?”

A series of groans ripped through the heroes as they just sat down and waited for the Javelin to get there for med evac.

You’d think Danny’s first time fighting Darkseid would be a bigger deal, but it was honestly not as big of a deal as everyone made it out to be. Danny had been fighting genocidal inter-dimensional tyrants since he was 14. What was one genocidal space tyrant making the list?

Batman apparently didn’t think it no big deal, though, if the worried version of the patented Bat-glare and Bat-grunt were anything to go off of. It had been a few days since the fight and the Bat had finally managed to wrangle everyone who had been involved in the Metropolis fight to the Watchtower for a debrief.

The meeting was supposed to start five minutes ago, but only the Flash was still missing. Danny, Conner, and Kara had been making jokes about it to a groaning Kid Flash and a pouting Impulse when the Boom Tube opened.

Everyone jumped to the ready. Batman pulled out a Batarang. Wonder Woman readied her lasso. Superman, Super girl, and the younger Superboy all started floating while their eyes glowed red. The older Superboy got into a fighting stance that Booster Gold quickly copied. The Atom shrank. Black Lightning’s hands sparked with electricity while Danny’s hands glowed with ectoplasm. The two speedsters vibrated in place.

They were ready for anything to come through. Except for a box of chocolates, a bouquet of roses, and a severed head of a yellow, bald alien. As quickly as it opened, the portal closed again. Kid Flashes summed it up best.

“What the fuck?” The yellow speedster yelled.

“Is that-“ Diana piped up, only for Superman to interrupt.

“It’s Mongul,” the Man of Steel growled.

“Who would send a severed warlord’s head with a bunch of romantic gifts?” The Atom piped up from where he stood on Booster’s shoulder.

“Well if it’s not poisoned, dibs on the chocolate,” Impulse gave a nervous laugh.

Batman and Black Lightning approached the table. Batman took a device of his belt and scanned the head then chocolate, each one coming back clean. Lightning picked up the bouquet and found a note.

“To Phantom,” he read out loud. “Your screams of agony resonated through my very being. You are the answer to my billion year search for the Anti-Life Equation. Join me and together we can enslave the universe to our will. Darkseid.”

The room fell into silence. Everyone had various looks of disgust on their face. The silence was eventually broken by Danny groaning and rubbing his eyes with his palms.

“Why do I only attract fruitloops?” He yelled up to the ceiling.

“GUYS!” A red blur yelled as he burst into the room. Flash had finally arrived. “I saw Desaad buying flowers in central city! And then Granny Goodness showed up with a box of chocolates and they Boom Tubed away! Hey, they actually looked a bit like these. Holy shit! Is that Mongul?”

Black Lightning just handed the Scarlet Speedster the note. Flash summed it up the best.

“What the fuck?”

slight change for this post! Instead of posting if a dive has occurred before, I thought it might be helpful to ask about this first:

cuz I've seen some differing opinions, and this situation obviously affects all the dives moving forward. So I think it's worth getting an opinion on this before we move on!

I don't think I've seen any full translations of this though, so idk if it was any clearer, but this is vague enough to cause a lot of questions.

Like, what does the creator mean by "Emma's ending"? Was she not murdered in the first time around? Totally possible ofc, but would it start there or earlier? Because Li Tianchen's appearance probably wouldn't affect Liu Min's motives, and I mean, there are probably other hitmen he could've hired that weren't ltc, right?

But on that topic, it's awfully convenient that Liu Xiao is kinda the one who inspired Li Tianchen in the first place, and then his "opportunity to become a hunter" happened to be in the form of Liu Xiao's own family. Obviously they don't seem too close, but we already know that Liu Xiao is a mastermind manipulator, so it's totally possible that he manipulated the scenario that led to Liu Min hiring a hitman (getting him financially cut-off and/or sensitive to online bullies or smth), which worked to keep ltc close enough for him to swoop in later at the end of s2??

Excuse my ramblings, I hope I make sense. But essentially, I don't think ltc's appearance had anything to do with Liu Min's wanting to kill Emma, so how was it different the first time around? Furthermore, as the tweet above says, how on earth did Lu Guang's actions with Vein influence an event that already should've happened?

Yes it did receive appreciation for being a trendsetter of university setting in BLs but the criticisms on lack of intimacy is getting on my nerves.

First of all, the main focus seems to be on the senior-junior struggle with hazing and the characters' internal struggles. THE AIM WAS NOT FANSERVICE AT ALL.

With that being said, it is completely normal for them to NOT be all over each other on screen even in season 2. Portraying emotional intimacy is harder than physical & it's done beautifully. They are two boys trying to graduate and do well in their jobs, it's absurd for them to come home and be all energetic in bed.

The relationship is actually balanced in its own way. Arthit gets a lot of hate for not communicating enough. When it actually does not seem like the case. Because in s2 he tells Kong "We can normally talk about anything, right?" That actually shows they are close enough to have tough conversations without jeopardising their relationship. Arthit knows since s1 that Kong is a rich kid, only he never know who exactly his father was.

Moreover Arthit's introversion & mysteriousness is what seems to draw Kong to him. We see how possessive Kong is - he cannot stand anyone else knowing little details such as pink milk & Aioon. I bet he'd not like him if Arthit was an easily likeable popular extrovert. The fact that Arthit is visibly shy is enough for Kong. And the fact that Arthit does not say "I love you" or "You are my world" regularly is what makes his words more valuable. Because Kong knows that it means beyond the surface in a situation when he says it.

It's good that Arthit continues to be shy & silent even in s2. Because that shatters the most common misconception that people change. He himself says that he loves Kong regardless, and saying it everyday would only reduce its importance. (Also, he's shy & that's how he is. Kongpob can accept it so it's all good innit?) Despite taking a long time to deal with his inner struggles he always comes back. He doesn't go around announcing about his relationship, but he does not keep it a secret forever either.

And the fear of society is actually well portrayed. University & workplace is different. Your sexual orientation doesn't reflect on your academic reports, but it CAN reflect as workplace discrimination. We also see that Arthit slowly realises that nobody is gossiping like he imagined. That's how he learns how pointless his worries were.

There are other shattered stereotypes. Such as the owner's nephew being a hard worker unlike the general nepotism character. And Earth just taking her time to warm up instead of turning out to be the female villian.

With all this being said, the show has a balance of silly entertainment & realistic ish character growth, idk it's a hill I'm willing to die on kbye.

So, campus perception of Techno is actually touched on in the last chapter that’s taking forever to finish. Mostly in a comedy way but yeah, his classmates do notice!

I’m imagining they’re probably using his plagiarism service so like at first it’s mostly business but also like they do the public speaking on a project cause Techno doesn’t wanna, maybe waving at the caf but not eating together. Like offhand hear he’s published some books and it’s like oh that’s cool but not invested enough to check it out (which. Fair my friends didn’t read mine either lol).

Maybe they jokingly suggest Techno should pull pranks with Wilbur, trying to fish for info on the betting pool for what’s up. And Techno just mutters that the guy is clingy and nosy (which gets back to Phil obvs).

Then Techno’s chronically ill and like dang now they have to try on essays. Since he’s not responding to their texts (financial control is an abuse tactic Phil~). Maybe they sign a card that never gets to him. But Wilbur says he’s fine and he probably knows, right? And then on top of that Skeppy is freaking out because apparently his parents dipped pretty quickly after the guy went on hospice. And by the way Skeppy is muttering good riddance occasionally, it’s not super clear if Techno has like. Any financial support??? Must bc really crappy parents if they left their kid the moment he became disabled jeeze dude. Or really bad luck if they got murdered or something idk. A semester happens, they kinda forget about him except when maybe struggling with an essay. In late November Wilbur drops off the face of the earth but seems to still submit assignments according to a prof. Maybe he got sick too..?

And then Skeppy is sick maybe? For a few days? And then Techno is on the news and the court case drama is sweeping the tabloids and Techno is back with scars and a knife and jumps unexpectedly, bolts, rumors are flying about him attacking people and all the papers say he’s crazy. And maybe he is. But all they know is something had to have happened to change Techno from the laid back nerd they knew, the guy who breezed through tests and muttered roasts about the professor just loud enough they caught it sitting a row behind. Because the man constantly counting exits, with the hand that jolts to something lodged in his belt when startled, with the eyes that seem to strip you bare as they search for a threat that isn’t there- that’s not Techno. Right?

So while the whole world is convinced Techno is a delusional mess, quietly the students of Hypixel begin to wonder just who the Angel really is.

idk what all ive written and not written publicly pertaining to my ideas on these cringe naenae lil thangs outside of me n tardi dm’s bc im embarrassed and its still rough and vague hahaha im still exploring things but ive thought a lot about certain aspects and not others. toxic worldbuilding lmao.

i think the idea has become that philippa is a bit into her captaincy,,,, not fresh into it. her ex-captain sh’Eraz (moid) has been apprehended or killed (idk lol) and shes in command of the Legacy,,,

theres a few ideas im still sitting on like as its been discussed like, the two kids are barely a year apart in age. which means that like her and jj had a one night stand or something and she got knocked up from it but theyre still like not in a relationship,,,,,,, i hesitate bc i kinda like the idea of the alien adopted boy having a few years (or closer to 10 years lol) on their biological daughter so idk. and it all seems REALLY indulgent to keep it all that close. but also,,,,, 😳 im just struggling to keep it dissimilar to my stuff with kathryn and chakotay and this was like, a way that presented itself haha.

and i still don’t know when JJ would re-enlist in starfleet!!! nothing compelling comes to me 😩😩😩😩 *nothing that doesnt seem super simpy like when philippa becomes a captain for example and she conveniently needs a chief engineer. ive thought that like, maybe his mother who’s been abhorrently against starfleet since joe’s death eventually insists he go because he so obviously loves and wants to follow philippa or something and it reminds her of joe I DONT KNOOOOOOW. ive also thought that maybe he joins peppa’s ship she captains LATER, initially as a civilian and very much like philippa’s Side Piece who coparents kids and rejoins later??? idk haha. i dont really like that option either fhfjdkks

anywayyyyy current idea is she finds out shes whoopsy pregnant just before leaving earth to go on an away mission, doesnt say anything to anyone even jace just leaves lol,,,, Legacy comes across this planet-size spaceship inhabited by these batlike aliens, the ship is their planet that theyve made capable of traversing space and survives on orbiting stars for periods of time, ao theyre very used to darkness but also theyre like obsessed with light sources lol. its like super advanced solar powered technology. i figure the planet has either one or a few like, densely populated areas where theres these big beacons of light protruding out of the centers of the cities, and then vast parts of the planet that are completely covered in darkness. the aliens probably have some explanation surrounding it like lack of resources or something. refer to the valleys of darkness on the planet-ship as like "outskirts" or w/e.

philippas down there doing first contact things (insert weird atmosphere inside the giant planet-ship granting philippa a unique access to it in comparison to her peers), the bat aliens are nice and accommodating to starfleet,,,,, i figure they have some mysterious visual to them of like, bearing little carnivorous fangs, but being vegetarian. stuff of that nature. philippa's a little bit sus about it but says nothing past like, maybe asking why they dont eat meat and them answering that theyve evolved past the need to consume meat and it's something that they dont look fondly on from their ancestry.

while shes there idk in some sketchy alleyway or being given a tour of a science facility, maybe philippa has stepped away from a tour to do some snooping of her own, she's a little bit problematic and too suspicious for her own good.

a runaway/criminal/fleeing/dying bat lady gives her this weird either egg/pod (she may not know its an egg at first lol) and she gets frantically told some conspiracy type stuff about their civilization being built on graves or lies or something edgy and that she cant let them have this pod/egg, its their last hope of setting things right. the bat lady looks oddly different to the other bat aliens philippa has seen; dont know visually how to contrast it yet but shes more sickly, less clean and less light-colored, more gray and fitting for a nocturnal species who rarely sees light, ravaged, less prim and proper, probably larger and more apparent fangs, etc. but she either runs off or gets captured or killed.

philippa's left more than a little confused about things but i figure she has an intuitive sense of wrongness and hasn't been vibing something she couldnt quite put her finger on regarding these aliens for a while and that kinda confirms a hunch for her. ummm proceeding to them trying to take the egg/pod away from philippa and shes like "ummmm lol no" so she ends up getting chased and her fleeing the city she's in without backup, they cut off access to her ship and comms so shes like Super Alone fending for herself out in the pitch black. POTENTIALLY she has access to starlight, id imagine the big planet-ship is a closed off dome as it travels but it opens up slits or something along its circumference to take in light from surrounding stars. so she can see but shes not emitting a beacon/torch of her own as not to give herself away.

as shes out there and hiding and trying to figure out what to do, how to contact her ship, figure out what's actually going on here, etc., the egg/pod ends up hatching and being like a weird little alien moth baby that is dissimilar to the bat aliens currently residing on this planet. ((((((my initial CRINGE thought is that like, these eggs/pods respond to like, idk MATERNITY so its been dormant for potentially years, and philippas like, secretly pregnant and it bonds/imprints on her as its mother or w/e. if i dont end up going that indulgent route you can just say that it liked the cut of her gib or something lmao. soul-related,,, ummmm good heart,,,,, etc.))))))

i figure they spend a few days together hiding. i think she'd talk to it to keep herself sane lol. maybe kinda confide a few fears she has regarding motherhood, struggles with her mother lol,,,, talk about delivering her sister's baby maybe,,,, other things too like shes just talking to this baby lmao. was talking to jellybeans about the name Moss for him haha, i think itd be cute if she just literally names him after moss. very uncreative placeholder type name that sticks. anyway baby eventually starts crying, shes worried shes gonna get caught with it, she does lmao, but by some bat aliens living in the outskirts of the planet-ship. these bats are all more visually similar to the frantic one that'd given her the egg. they discover what she has (moth baby lol) and they take her to their hideout/camp where they explain their race's history and that of the lil alien she's now charged with reluctantly taking care of. which iiiis...

the planet-ship was originally that of the moth aliens, a long time ago they took in the bat aliens that were as in need of light for some reason as much as if not more than they were, they cohabitated for a bit but eventually the bats start like overpopulating or something. ITS STILL ROUGH IN MY HEAD. i figure the moth aliens are super smart, but have a moral code that the scrungly bat aliens dont end up vibing all too much. somehow somewhy the bats end up starting to use the moth's DNA/blood, (maybe via infusion?) blending it with their own through unnatural means, in order to like, artificially augment or evolve themselves, get smarter, thus why theyve physically changed so much in appearance is because theyre like, idk living off of their blood or something to maintain their states of mind.

they also tell her that the lil baby is the last of his kind and he'd likely be safer somewhere away from this place where they cant use him anymore. (maybe the eggs are effectively preserved/ageless and supply the bats with longer lasting access to blood idk) they dont know or understand how philippa got it to hatch (maybe she does know but shes not gonna tell them. shes still repressing/ignoring the elephant in the room (pregnant) lmao). but his existence is kinda a big deal bc it proves what theyre saying and the other bats would likely not want that info coming to light or preventing them from joining starfleet or w/e. maybe their planet-ship is becoming less and less sustainable and theyre like Girl Help Lol.

philippa asks the outskirt bats for their help in getting in contact with her ship and off of the planet and they do. im sure its bumpy haha but i havent thought about this part much it just eventually happens and she makes it back to her ship, she confides in her CMO that she's pregnant (maybe) and he knows her well enough to be like "i know," bc she like, didnt get her medical examination out of the way right at the start of their departure or something and kept putting it off so ppl wouldnt know lol. ANYWAY, lil baby is given special treatment to start adapting his lungs to a new atmosphere which is long and arduous and philippa stays by his side through a lot of it. its not like she cares or is worried or anything!!!!!!!!!!!!

eventually gets back to earth, still hasnt really told anyone her news or the fact that shes kinda adoptively taking care of this baby now. i think we'd talk about her showing up to tell Jace and her initially perceiving philippa with a baby and being like 'omg' and then reading peppa's very loud thoughts and being like 'OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!' haha. EVEN MORE VAGUE IDEAS WITH JJ LOLLLLLLL, has to do with my big question mark surrounding his starfleet career and everything, but theyre both like "omg we arent even dating lol hi" about it.

hey guys im gonna write about lore now because im a little drunk and i have Big Feelings and Ideas about the puppet show. LETS GOO!!

ok so some background: we know the substitute [the hologram professor] was defenestrated by ryan at the end of last season. we also know that defenestration doesnt ALWAYS mean that the person dies. (also can a hologram die? sources say probably not. i mean he can kick and bite but just because he can manipulate matter doesnt mean he can die per say. he can probably recharge.)

we ALSO know that the power box and victory algorithm are outside of watcher hq in the dumpster. this was revealed in 6x01 and DEFINITELY not a mistake. im like 95% sure this plays into what happens next.

so whats my theory???

i do think this season is gonna be pretty chill lore wise. i think after 4 and 5 we deserve this little victory lap and shane is gonna give it to us. im almost positive there wont be any post show lore bits (except for MAYBE the season finale) there might be more breadcrumbs along the way though! and i will be looking out for them

when we DO get into lore times, i think the most likely things to happen is something that threatens both the professor and beef boy or one of them. i think we explored alot of the internal struggles with their friendship and i think their friendship is solid and earned now. (and it feels repetitive to make them not be friends again). ive kinda been waiting for a team up, and im very excited for this to happen!!

so, my #1 theory is its probably gonna be the substitute coming back to get his revenge. probably with a little help to. top suspects are 1) genie, 2) the devil, 3) asmodeus? and 4) secret fourth thing (a character we dont know about yet) i am curious about what the substitute is gonna do with the victory algorithm. in the lore scene where hes watching the machine count, it really does seem to just be a machine that counts points like jokes and puns along with correct answers, and all it does is award a ticket for the winner. i dont see how that can be manipulated into being helpful for him.

we also gotta get those little puppets out of the wondreum arena!!! and the professor doesnt seem to know that they're stuck in there!!!! i think that is also gonna play a role at some point, but i can't quite place where it falls yet. maybe the substitute will mention it and the professor will be like ??? WHAT??? maybe that's first on the professor's priority list??? maybe they'll get them back before the substitute comes back? idk yet. but its definitely a factor and something to keep in mind. i remember the substitute saying that god said that they could send one representative to earth to figure the whole mess out anf they sent the substitute, im just curious how any puppet was supposed to do anything about that??? are they supposed to bring their now unanimated objects to the wondrium arena for the puppet souls to inhabit??? idk but im excited to see how this part gets resolved cus i wanna see the little guys get outta there.

but I totally get what you mean about aro/ace fic being hard to find in fandom. like, I don't think I've ever had a major ship where I haven't read them as ace in some way, and yet even in far bigger fandoms I've struggled to find fic where the characters are ace. (to the point that I have opened fics in a haze of excitement only to realise I missed the red flags in the tags and it's actually just an aphobic joke :///) & I imagine the romance-heavy focus of fandom makes looking for aro fic even worse.

two and jamie have just always seemed to me like a ship that is. not very allo in any respect, tho. I definitely remember seeing a post interpreting them as queerplatonic soon after I first watched two's era (would link it, but this was like 2015 and I have no idea where I saw it or if it's even still kicking around). at the time I was kinda on the fence about shipping them and I was like, yeah, that makes total sense to me actually. even tho I obviously eventually shifted into reading them as romantic personally, I would still happily vibe with interpreting them as queerplatonic, bc the most important thing with them as characters is that they're together in a partnership, whatever form that takes. & over the last couple of years I've also really started to toy with two not exactly experiencing romantic attraction like humans do (which I'll admit is kinda influenced by my own inability to distinguish/define romantic attraction), so maybe re-injecting some arospec vibes? idk. & I've been hcing them as ace for so long that I don't even really have a reason or justification for it, that's just. how they are, in my head.

despite the size of the fandom and the ship tho I do know there's a handful of people who DO read them as ace. which probably says something about classic who fandom demographics gjkd. but also is such a refreshing vibe for me compared to other fandoms I've been in or read for. peace & love on planet earth etc etc

I’m not sure if you had anything in mind with this ask so I’m just gonna spew a bunch of random things and whatever comes to mind—

• Uhhhhh Nexus! I’m in absolute love with Nexus, and I honestly consider it one of my best concepts— there’s so many parts to it that even I struggle to comprehend it in its entirety…. And I created the thing!!

• It’s… well, kinda on the level of a cosmic being??? Nobody knows if it’s alive or has thoughts, if it knows what it’s doing or is just driven by instinct, or something close to it. Like one of those island turtles in mythology.

I explain it a Little in chapter two, but it is quite literally in the center of all known universes. If you’ve ever heard of the cosmic web, it’s basically that. Nexus is the center of that web, acting as both the anchor, and the spider itself as it grows and captures more AU’s.

Why is it doing this?? No fucking idea. It’s cosmic, otherworldly, lovecraftian— it’s beyond any living creatures comprehension.

• The Nexus AU itself is shaped almost identically to earth, except it’s around six times the size. A few things might very, but most of the major land masses and landmarks are there. I don’t think I have any place in specific in mind for where our particular story takes place, but seeing as I live in the US, and have never even been outside my state— it’ll probably end up americanized in someway. Apologies for that.

•The history is also vastly changed as well, I’m not sure which wars would’ve even happened with the interference of Monsters around tbh— I feel like a lot of them wouldn’t have happened, or if they had, they would’ve been vastly different. Especially depending on what kind of Verse was in power at the time… a Fell verse in power would’ve been a lot different from a Swap verse in power during something like the World Wars—

Idk, maybe I’ll think more on that later buts it’s not really relevant to the plot as of now.

• As for the time period? Probably the same as our current one, but with the help of higher technology and magic. I mean— they have alternate reality traveling machines— just out there! For people to use! Harper has a permanent portal, a rip in the void for her cat installed, for stars sake.

It’s all very fantastical, and I’m definitely looking forward to exploring it more :3

• Other then that, there’s also a sort of class system… unfortunately.

Harper’s family is considered one of the more higher classes in society. They are wealthy, they have connections, and most importantly: they come from directly from one of the first Monster rulers.

Family lineage, title, and generational wealth mean everything in this world. Who you come from matters infinitely more then who you are. That’s not to say that it isn’t important to make a name for yourself— no, no. You will constantly be under scrutiny, anything and everything you do will either harm and bluster the weight behind your family name. Any minor infraction will be remembered long past your lifetime, you must always be exemplary.

• Thankfully, not much is expected of Harper. All she has to do is obey her parents and look pretty in public. She won’t be inheriting her parents fortune or responsibilities, so some of that weight is taken off her shoulders.

…in theory.

In reality, the standard that Harper is held up to is infinitely higher then the one Kristen is held to.

Harper must alway be perfect, must always be calm and pleasant, must always say and do the right thing and must always look presentable.

She has a title to uphold, her sisters future title. She mustn’t do anything to tarnish it.

The poor girls trauma has trauma— she is very mentally unwell, but fuck it we ball amiright?

At least she has her kitty and Grandmas house :D even if Kristen decided to move in without even asking— not like it can get any worse. Right?

• More on Harper’s family, her beloved grandma Edith was also a bit of an outcast. She was kind and gentle, and cared about silly things like preserving nature and helping those below her. But unfortunately for Edith’s parents, she was an only child, and thus the only one who could inherit their wealth and family line.

• Edith, was also autistic. Something both her and Harper had in common. Unfortunately, it’s regarded as a blight on the family name.

• It was quiet the scandal, but Edith left just about everything to Harper in her will. Her wealth, her properties, her land rights, staff, family heirlooms— everything.

Harper’s family couldn’t do much about it, and Harper has been in too much grief to even look at anything. If anything, it’s just another reason for her family to resent her. As well as another reason to keep her around, if they want to be able to access anything of the things left to her.

Rapid fire facts, go!

• Have I mentioned that I’m insane about enemies to friends/lovers??? Because I am. Very much so. Especially enemies to friends to enemies to friends to lovers. It will happen in this story. And I’m so looking forward to it.

• Briefly mentioned in chapter two, but outertale and other space AU’s exist in this au. They are on the moon and other planets. ALIEN ON THE MOON 👽

• Auriga is the product of an outertale grillby and a classic muffet. She is very pretty and I love her a lot. Very grandma coded. She’s named after the spider nebula (IC 417) located within the Auriga constellation.

• Sulfur is a horror-grillby. He no longer looks like a fire elemental, and looks more like a lava creature. Think Te Kā from Moana. He played the role of ‘sans’ in his universe.

• There will be no mention of Ink, Error, Death, Nightmare, Dream, or any of the other big shots in this fic. They exist, but the scope of their being is far too massive to make any sense within the, comparatively, narrow lenses that my story focuses on. I love them, but Harper has no business dealing with gods /silly

• little description of Harper’s physical appearance (if your interested). She’s average height, maybe a little taller, and she’s on the thinner side. (For now, we’ll fix her unhealthy eating habits later dw) She’s got black hair that goes just past her shoulders, with loose waves and a side part.

She’s got them Harry Potter big circle glasses because of her bad vision and heavy dislike of contacts. They’re metal and a silver color that works well with the rest of her jewelry. Whenever she decides to wear any. She’s a silver girly, Kristen is more fond of gold.

Her eyes are bright blue, because I haven’t had a character with blue eyes yet and I might as well. Also because I have that Blue Eyed Stare and I want some representation dammit.

She doesn’t have any freckles, but she does have a slight case of rosacea. (She just like me fr)

She’s conventionally attractive, with a stereotypical CEO look or something like that. Her and Kristen look like they could be twins, even though Kristen is older and they have a four year gap.

I haven’t had the time to sketch them out, but I always make picrews of my MC’s so I have a reference:

Hello everyone and thank all 28 (woah) for voting in my first poll! Now this doesn't mean all of my au's are out of the picture but y'all asked and y'all will receive. So context I made this AU when I was very little I just happened to get into Steven Universe and Voltron at the same time. SVTFOE was also supposed to be here but I couldn't find a way to make it fit and make sense in the grand story.

But let's into it starting with headcannons, or canons since I'm the creator? Idk what to call them

Aqua

•Daughter of Lance and Lapis she is kinda the group leader. Born on March 5, 2125 (Pisces) in Beach City, Delaware. She actually got the hang of her powers pretty young compared to her friends and luckily for her the city actually became a city, now being the gem human capital of the world. She went to school at little homeschool and became a volunteer for the place. Since her parents were still close there kids became friends, a little more then friends actually.

•Aqua and Jay have only been dating for a few months now, in my mind it's around maybe 6-8 but the two deeply care about each other. Sometimes on dates Aqua will let him ride on her back and they just fly around the city with no cares in the world, even exploring the ocean. The two have even fused into Iolite on occasions, or as they like to call them, Io.

•But the girl has secrets, secrets she doesn't want even her closest friends to know. SHE'S A FANFIC WRITER. Her favorite show is called Moon Mist and it's about intergalactic medieval space fighters who go on daring quests and wonderful adventures. She thinks it's embarrassing though, even her friends make fun of her cause they kinda think the show is dumb.

•The girl's hair is genetic, along with all of her friends. Hair like that has become a lot more common since gem and human relations have gotten better.

•Even seeing a fish dead or in food can make the girl shed a tear she hates it, flying around the ocean, picking up trash, it makes her dad proud.

•Just like her mother, she has dabbled in the art of watercolor and other medians of paint. A little fun though she can never seem to get it right, even with her practice it's hard.

•Like the rest of her friends though, they miss their moms. Aqua misses hers the most, with all the other lazuli's flying around and teaching her how to use her powers, she can't help but still long for that tear drop hole in her heart.

Jay

•Kid of Hunk and Amethyst and heir to the Garrett cooking empire he is the the kid under, what he feels is crazy pressure. Born on April 28, 2124 (Taurus) in New Orleans, Louisiana he's the oldest out of the kids. Unlike the other kids his dad left Earth only a few months after he was born. With the growing empire of his dad's restaurant caused the two to move around a lot, never staying in one place for more then a few months. He hates it though. Every month is a new place farther and farther away from his friends, and lover.

•As his mother and father always say, the key to love is through a persons stomach, and he lives by that. It's how he shows his love to all his friends and family, especially with Aqua. He's always there when she needs a pick me up with her favorite homemade ice cream, or just on the fly with her burger.

•Being a shapeshifter Jay had always struggled with his identity, till when he was 13 he finally realized he was xenogender. Not being tied to any real gender or any concept of it. Then again his friends don't care about whatever he identifies as or choses to be, as long as he's Jay, him and them are happy.

•Hunk never once put pressure on his kid. He was always scared that he'd be like him when he was a teen, scared of everything and not wiling to be adventurous. But Hunk never had to do that oh no, oh no, Jay did that to himself. He feels like his has to continue his fathers legacy in some way to make him proud, even though the guy couldn't be prouder

•He tries to visit his friends as much as possibly, even if they are miles and miles away

•He's always trying new combos of food and making his friends taste them. Mostly there good, sometimes there amazing, but on the rare expected times he makes something bad, it's bad. Like, that one time he gave everyone food poisoning for a week straight.

Rose

•Child of Shiro and Pink Pearl she's a flip flop of characters. She's smart but stupid, naive and paranoid, no one can get a real good read on her. When she born Shiro and his husband had been wanting a kid and well, him and pink pearl had become really good friends so she decided to sacrifice herself to give her friend what he wanted. And before you know it with a little science, Rose popped out on November 31, 2135 in New York, New York.

•When she was about 3 her family moved to LA for Shiro's job which lead to Rose being around all the finder things in life. She wasn't the top 1% her family was just, rich, a Glinda type.

•As a kid her house was always the house the group would want to hang out with since it had all the hottest games and toys and everything a kid could want. But now it's just one of the many places they go to hang out.

•Even with her high statis in life, she always wished she's could be a run of the mill kid. No famous parent, no riches, wished she could go back into the past and when she found out about the 2000s through 2090s? God she was amazed. Which led her to spiral more, into the 1990s, 80s, 70s, 60s, 50s, times gone by. But she knows that's never gonna be her life.

•Like I mentioned, Rose makes bracelets for her friends, but her favorite is the one she made for Elliot. She doesn't fully know why but he's always been special to her

Elliot

•Speaking of which it's the man of the hour! Elliot was born April 3rd, 2124 (Aries) in the desserts of New Mexico along with his sister. After years Ruby and Sapphire wanted kids so Keith helped them out which lead them to give up there forms to make them.

•Elliot got Ruby's side which lead to anger, lots of angry mumbling, and only being able to focus on one thing at a time. The guy was never the best in school being known as the joker and pranker which got him in trouble with his dad. Along with Ruby's anger he got her powers and weapon

•Even with his troubles, the guy is surprisingly smart with fire. Since it can't effect him like a normal person he's always trying to find something to make his powers stronger, better, it's why he carries around a pair of goggles, it blows up in his face!

•He'd never admit this to anyone, but he has a minor crush on Rose. He thinks she so sweet and pretty and caring, and he couldn't help but smile more then he did anytime of his life when she gave him that bracelet. He's always careful with it, a bit paranoid about losing or blowing it up lmao

•He looks up to his Galura grandmother and wishes to be like her. We’ll more like have the markings of a Galura.

Frost

• Born April 3rd, 2134 Frost is the opposite of her brother. Even though the two are known to get into mischief once in a while her grades are out of this world, has really good control of her powers, yet not as popular as her more extroverted brother, but she doesn’t care.

• The girl got the powers of ice and future vision, only the future vision kinda stinks. It’s always a blur whenever they try to use it

•Is like Keith at the start of Voltron, she even takes her outfit from what he looked like as a teenager just changed the color to blue

•Was apart of some sports teams, but it never worked out for her

•Want to be just like her dad and be a pilot, even though Keith is scared it would be to dangerous from her even if he does encourage it

•Has a few other friends outside the friend group from clubs and volunteering

•Dances her sadness out when something bad happens. Just goes to the bathroom and busts it down lmao

Alexis

•Born February 5th, 2135 at 2:00am on a Saturday in New Mexico, with the two biggest brains on the team, they’re a super genius. They were made in a tube and laid dormant for almost nine months, but they came out pre-mature

•Alexis took a few years to warm up to the rest of the group, it was till 7 she begun to talk but used a tablet to speech to her mother. She never exactly liked the group at first, she could never understand how they worked, or any humans work really

• She despises the feeling of dirt and grime on her skin, it why unlike her mothers she hate gardening and going outside with a passion. It’s why they’re so pale.

•Has metal powers which are useful since also like their mothers, they love and adore tech and think it's better then any magical power out there

•Avid gamer that has one of those 'I paused my game to be here' shirts they were around the Garrison, it's where here and the twins go to school

•Buts heads with Frost a lot since the two are both the smartest kids there. But they do study together and for Alexis Frost is the only other person aside from their mother who they can have intelligent conversation with

•Yet that doesn't make them immune to drama. TV DRAMA THAT IS, Alexis is crazy about camp pining hearts were talking watching every episode, movie, cast interviews. Reading every book, script, even creating a whole video essay spanning 10 hours explaining every episode and plot point in the show in so much detail it could make your head spin

•For some reason dogs have always been special to them

23.5 Eps 9 - 12 Live Blogging

well... I started watching an on-air show after a long time (February 2023 Never Let Me Go, I'm not counting Our Skyy 2) and I really just binged the first 8 episodes and fell off lol. Interestingly, I also had to binge the last 4 eps of NLMG because I stopped keeping up weekly after ep 8 (though I did watch eps 4 - 8 on a weekly basis before that).

Anyway, I wasn't feeling a Need to come back to this show because I found the resolution to Ongsa-Earth underwhelming and the reaction I've seen to these last few episodes has also been middling, so hmm idk. I'm also just not in the mood for high school shows right now (I Will Knock You is also on-hold rip), so it feels a bit unfair to this show to watch it when I'm not in the mood but what can you do? I don't want to leave it hanging even after the show ends.

Ep 9: When The Earth Tilts (May 22/23)

I didn't mind Luna asking Aylin to socialize more with her family because it's a fairly small step since she already spends time with them and I think it'd be good for Aylin to push herself a bit out of her comfort zone and realize the benefits of maintaining relationships but the stuff at the end was too much, like why must Aylin sit at the table for lunch with a bunch of Luna's friends when she already struggles with people? I hope Luna thinks it through more next ep and apologizes but I'm nervous that that won't be the case based on some fan reactions, though idk if that was to ep 9 or ep 10.

okay Sun's outing of Aylin was accidental and I'll give it a pass because she's a teenager who has grown up in a very accepting home and they're all out at school, so she didn't think before mentioning the 3rd wheeling thing

but she should realize that Ongsa's trying to steer the conversation away and back off

instead of confronting Ongsa and outing her in front of her parents and wtf is "so you're never gonna tell them about me?" why is 'never' coming up here? you've barely been dating bruh and haven't discussed anything. like she could've been upset at Ongsa for keeping her a secret without feeling the need to declare it in front of her parents when Ongsa doesn't want to come out

and then just Leaving and riding away on P'Sunny after doing all that?!?!?

the thing is I just feel like coming out isn't only about "you worry too much about what others think" like that's not the same category as Ongsa not telling anybody about Sun and her dating because Sun's popular while she's not. It has more to do with possible pushback and violence from her own family where she didn't feel safe enough to come out. and i just don't like that coming out and being publicly with a girl is treated as the same thing as 'caring too much about other people'

and like make your home and environment a very explicitly queer-accepting space so that your daughter isn't so afraid of coming out to you and doesn't know what reaction to expect wtf

I'll overlook it (kinda how I still was so into PaiSky in Love In The Sky despite Pai's endless SIMs and calling) but it's been noted.

Overall:

GMMTV's first GL and MilkLove's first full GL; I was super excited, especially after having watched MilkLove in Bad Buddy and the Magic of Zero special, which is why I started watching this on-air (thought I'd start it even earlier than ep 8 but didn't because of exams). So it's a shame that I feel so... nothing about the show, especially the main couple; I think Aylin/Luna is my fave ship in here. I think I also just wasn't much in the mood for a silly high school romance series right now, which isn't the show's fault but contributed to why I didn't feel the pull to continue watching the show. When I did watch it, it could get pretty cute though, I giggled/gushed a few times, especially about Luna and Aylin. The teachers' storyline was cute too, though barely there. Aylin was the MVP for sure.

Oh hey not Mata Kids AU time but New Atera Headcanons!

Yeah I had a thing with celebrations that would happen in New Atera post Journey's End events so I thought to share it with the Bionicle community on Tumblr for those who wanna use any of them too!

Around the time the unity between the Agori and the Matoran occurred in the past, every year there's a "holiday" ig you'd call it where everyone in New Atera have a week long celebration in honor of that unity and the defeat of the Makuta

The week consists of seven different events that happen during each day of the week

I don't know the actual canon months, seasons and years system of Bionicle let alone Spherus Magna so I'ma just run with the Earth version bc yeah

First Day: The Day of Remembrance

The first event that happens is at night (kinda a baby ref from the Dance of the Moonlight Jellies festival in Stardew Valley bc its honestly my favorite festival in game, it's soo good even with Visible Fish and Reflections mods installed) by the shores closest to the village

Everyone gathers by/in the waves as the village leader (which my opinion I always associated with the old village leader of Bara Magna villages and the Turaga Metru(with Ackar and (maybe) Mata Nui) in their council) give a speech

The festival is to remember those who were lost due to either the Brotherhood Crisis, before Spherus Magna was reformed of the struggle or before the shattering and that their spirits (mediphorcally speaking) shall join them during the festivities in celebration of the unity

They then after a moment of silence release floating lanterns into the waves (the lanterns are bio degradable don't worry, one of their first ideas with the week long holiday, they literally got their planet more livable you think the Agori gonna polute it immediately? They may be organic but they aren't humans)

Honestly every year this always makes the stars seem to shine brighter, Mata Nui does admit he has nothing to do with that (he's honestly surprised by it every year) so everyone assumes now it's the spirits of the lost officially joining in

Day Two: The Day of Harvest of the Plentiful

The second day is where any Bo-Toa and even Mata Nui use their power to grow any if not all crops to their harvest state (idk how accurate this is bc can I roll with it please) to where a huge harvest for both the celebrations and the days to come can happen

Ik it feels wasteful of the energy for even Mata Nui but how the Agori literally struggled for food after the shattering it feels kinda natural to add this(literally I feel like even for a couple of centuries the Agori from post reforming Spherus Magna would still be antsy of low food and water due to being so used to it)

Day Three: The Day of Reminisce

During this day especially young Agori and Glatorian would gather in the village square by a bonfire as stories of events of the Toa Nuva's adventures, tales of the island and Metru Nui and even the events of rising against the Bone Hunters and Skrall United army and the final battle between Mata Nui and Makuta are told

The Turaga love this day especially because they get to put their good storytelling to good use (their good storytellers yeah, listeners? Not so much) while keeping the memories of the past alive in newer generations

When it gets to the Agori and Glatorian adventures though usually the Agori leaders take place in this but at times the younger Agori and Glatorian ask for Mata Nui and or Ackar to do the story telling (personal headcanon Mata Nui is a good storyteller like the Turaga but also is a good listener, Ackar's the same bc good green flag dad energy), they usually roll with it honestly due to how the little ones are more entranced into the story telling from the Great Spirit and Veteran Glatorian themselves

Day Four: The Day of Embers

This celebration is where people come together to put on their own performances, like a talent show but you don't need talent for it

Tahu uses this day to show off his Toa powers in more flashy ways

Takanuva always manages to drag Jaller and Halhi into either a Kohli match reenactment(when they were still Matoran of MOL Kohli match, and also making sure it's safe) or some comedy skit

Lewa always takes the opportunity to join his Le-Matoran bands (I always imagine Lewa playing the drums but you can tweak this for whatever instrument headcanon you have for him)

Day Five: The Day of Sports(bad title Ik)

Basically this day there's two events that happen in one

First is two Kohli matches, one Matoran(and Agori join as well) based one and the other a Toa based one), the Toa Kohli match does have special measurements so no one in the audience doesn't get hurt

While the second is a Glatorian fight, they do keep monitors on this one so there's no Strakk incident again like before with Ackar and no Thornraxx Launchers user

Tahu and Kopaka are banned from fighting against each other in Glatorian matches tho due to how violent they would get between the two (Both Onua and Mata Nui would have to step in to pull the two apart)

Ackar occasionally joins in on these fights but most of the time he watches, it's not he doesn't like the fighting it's just he's actually curious how good the rookie Glatorians are training and learning, this being a habit from his mentoring

There isn't a single Toa Kohli match Pohatu would be in and you bet your ass he'll try to bring Kopaka into it

Day Six: The Day of Joy

The second last day is basically a huge party with music, dancing, food and all kinds of fun

The dances are completely random they'll either be fun ones you can drag friends in for shits and giggles or they can be romantic type ones

You're not required to dance it's entirely optional, just being there is a requirement (to the dismay of Kopaka's anti social self)

Personal Headcanons I tie with this(you can ignore these bc these also include shipping ones as well):

Pohatu is always trying to get Kopaka to dance but manages to get at least one dance out of him

Lewa, Takanuva, Terix and Vastus would be dancing with the young Agori and Glatorian children (Lewa especially and would drag Onua into this as well for the fun) as Lewa would also be keeping them occupied with his Toa powers

If there's a romantic dance going on you will definitely find Mata Nui and Ackar (bc I love this ship, they're so gay for each other) dancing together and the same with Kiina and Gresh (there is no platonic explanation for these two I am sorry)

Any dance Takanuva would literally try to pull both Halhi and Jaller into (This can be taken Platonically and Romantically, polymorphous relationships for the win as a Polysexual woman, accurate polymorphous relationships representation is always welcome in my book)

Despite the state of his body, Matau will definitely be dancing (this is so him I'm sorry)

Nuju and Whenua will definitely be dancing romantic dances together (they were so married, my immediate thought when I first saw them together on screen with Legends of Metru Nui, I immediately thought they were married. I had a similar thing with Duncan Bulk and Jimi Stringer when I was 6-7 years old first watching LEGO Hero Factory), don't even try to separate them it won't work

Day Seven: The Day of Farewells

The final day is similar to the first day where they gather and release lanterns but this time to say farewell and see you next years to the spirits who joined them during the festivities

This time they gather in a huge plateau/field to release (ofc biodegradable) lanterns into the sky

Any Glatorian who have weapons do keep their weapons on them during both the first and last festivities in case of any threats that may happen

After another speech, everyone lights their lanterns, says their farewells or "see you next years" and then on the count of three they release the lanterns into the night sky

It's a moment of silence, or as silent you can get with children and even adults aweing at the sight of all the lanterns flying away

Personal Headcanons I have of this:

Mata Nui always finds himself when the lanterns release looking between the Toa Nuva and his friends, he knew it's been a long time since both the Agori and his Matoran have had peace and joy like during the festivities of the week and is grateful for their unity and glad to have the Toa help protect the Matoran and to have his friends that helped him

Vakama always finds himself looking amongst his fellow Turaga as he remembers their adventures as Toa and ofc the Hordika Venom, they've come a long way yes and had many difficulties but despite their issues he's grateful to have them around

Hot damn took two damn hours to finish this post, or a hour idk I was not focused on the time despite how late in the night it is

AHHH charlotte jumpscare!!!!!!!

im not sure what SPECIFICALLY to post abt her bc this ask is a little vague, BUT i do think abt her a lot!!! tho i DO gotta think about her more, she is a WONDERFUL character

bc idk what specifically, my interpretation of her post canon and WHY (also under a readmore because WOW!! i had apparently a lot to say abt her):

i think!!! she is a LOT more mellow after she gets home. like in one 16 after shes respawned its like. she seems to be friendlier? which. i think has to do w like... i dont think she was a bad person really, and i dont think shed been acting Maliciously, but when it came to having friends i think it was really easier for her to genuinely take things as worst as they could be. we dont actually get much of her backstory, so its up to interpretation as to WHY, but i think she genuinely struggled with being distrustful of those close to her. she likes them, that much is clear, but trusting people is a whole other thing

but i think she really DID view her friends as pitying her. as not respecting her, even when they werent Being cruel. they were concerned for her safety, and how her recklessness was affecting her. and i think that can end up walking a line between pity and not wanting your friends to do things that are pretty unambiguously dangerous, and what was very standard friendship ended up feeling a lot MORE like they didnt respect her or her choices

and i think what changes this is that. she DID die. and i think that contextualized for her that her friends werent concerned because they thought she couldnt handle herself, but because they just Generally care abt her yknow? as fucked up as her dying is, i think it did ultimately make her realize that THIS is what her friends were worried about. they didnt want THIS to happen to her, and i think in an odd way? it kinda made her. idk understand? trust? the people around her more. like in a 'oh, people around me dont only care about me for selfish reasons, or cruel reasons. they care because they CARE' way

and i think that, and the fact that she says that shed been thinking about this a lot? i feel like it kinda all forced her to slow down and WANT to talk to the people around her. because shed been pushing them all away because what was the point in talking to them? and i think once she REALLY noticed how amelia was doing, after thinking so much about all this, it kinda MADE her want to amend things. or at the very least, to talk to people more. shes isolated herself long enough, and its now more than ever that she realizes how much others meant to her in the first place.

(i think in some aspects, amelias method of coping also bothered her. amelias coping mechanisms werent necessarily BAD, theyre not good by real-world standards, but given the situation shes in, it was just... once of the few ways she COULD cope. but i think the flaws in this method of coping really came through once airy came back, because in forgetting everything about who she used to be, earth became a very daunting place, but now that airys back, any amount of feeling like home the plane may have unfortunately gained was completely undone. and i think charlotte actually SEES that, and its not the exact same as her own struggles, but i think she WANTS to help amelia, because she of all people knows how the feeling of being isolated, either on purpose or accident, can feel Extremely Awful. that, and she knew amelia before things on the plane got REALLY bad, and she SAW (since ive seen people note that she!!! was watching amelia do yoga w the others) amelia gradually give up, become comfortable, and then LOSE all of that

and i think, at least right before bryce showed up, it felt fucked up that charlotte WAS the only other person from the same world as amelia and theyd!!! never even spoken about it??? (like how she comments that they NEVER told each other their names. which only applies to her and amelia. that statement was intended very specifically towards amelia) and its like. i think it mightve made her a bit 'no WONDER shes not doing well. even if shes trying to act like she is' (which i dont even think amelia is doing to deflect so much as an attempt at 'if i pretend its ok it WILL be ok right?'))

and!!! once getting home i think this would all really lead her to be a bit more patient with others. i dont think the distrust would STOP being an issue, but i think such a terrible experience causing her to completely recontextualize the actions of those around her would actually help, at least a little . i dont actually know if i think shed stay friends w parker and that friend group, but i think theyd at the least keep in touch. parker clearly, even when they were arguing, STILL cared about her, and i think seeing her disappear probably was. a bit haunting, and so i think at the very least hed like to know shes Okay

also whenever people have the characters live together post canon, they only ever include bryce liam and amelia, and i GET why!!! charlotte didnt really interact w them for a looong time. but after charlotte is revived i actually see her as talking with them yknow? i dont think shed stop talking to them again, and i think her talking with amelia was a genuine attempt to help!! so i think theyd stick together. i dont imagine liam actually gets closer with any of the contestants while hes trying to send them home (tho i dont think it worsens substantially either. i think it just sorta. stays where it is? and if he did have notable interactions with any of them, itd PROBABLY be mainly w amelia and bryce, tho i dont think he DOESNT talk to charlotte too! he just has a diff sort of connection w those to, based on the experiences he Shared w them) so i think he isnt SUPER close w charlotte, but i think the others may become WAY closer w her!!! so i think if they all moved in together? that WOULD include charlotte!!! (that, and i think charlotte would also develop a sort of respect for liam . because he kinda DOES display exactly the type of traits she didnt really see people as having!!! going to EXTREME lengths to help people, including HER! so i think shed generally have many thoughts on him)

anyway !!! thats it the point is that as much as one would fuck charlotte up in her own way, i think, similar to how bryce tried to get his life together after he was first eliminated, shed similarly end up having a better ability to navigate social stuff in not such a pessimistic way as before!!!!!

(or unhoused people, or transients, or whatever i'm supposed to call them. of all the panhandlers, scruffy travelers and homeless-looking people i've talked to on the street, i've never thought to ask "what's the politically correct thing to call you in broad generalizations about this life circumstance." feckin ay)

(which is not shocking to me in the sense that people will do that—of course they will—but it seems like terrible opsec and/or a privacy violation. or at least something you'd have under an NDA. and you'd think people that work security would be more discreet. but then, you don't hear about the discreet ones... *sigh* whatever. people post it)

—and a significant portion of that boils down to "someone was sleeping here and i had to tell them to leave."

(granted the ones i watched were very down to earth and gentle-but-firm about it. better than unleashing Scared Karen into a dank apartment stairwell or calling the cops. but still.)

which idk about you but i don't think that's a point in favor of the profession. feels kinda bleak and sad and icky! i'm just also not sure if there's a better alternative, specifically, for someone acting legally as the agent of a private property owner. that's... The Problem.
