The number one thing that stands out about the finale to me- as in, the actual ending where everything is reset, not the four streams or even the last stream as a whole- is that… there’s absolutely less than zero reasons to assume that anything is better. Unless their personalities were wiped along with their memories- which is a fucking horrifying ending anyway- c!Tommy is, logically, in a situation where he will be abused again, only this time without a support system at all.

Because… c!Dream’s memories have nothing to do with why he abused c!Tommy, and the finale as a whole proves this because the reasons he gives are objectively incorrect. c!Dream assigned c!Tommy as the sole instigator to events he either was one of multiple participants in, or wasn’t even involved in. c!Dream either misremembered those events because of how he later grew to see c!Tommy for other reasons, or he was, y’know. Fucking lying. To fuck with c!Tommy. Which is, y’know, something he enjoys doing.

And, while c!Tommy might not know why c!Dream targeted him, since he refused to actually tell him that and give him any closure, we as an audience can figure out what the most likely reason is, from c!Dream’s actions and words he repeats multiple times in multiple situations where they won’t specifically benefit him, and that seems to be because of c!Tommy’s defiance. Y’know, an intrinsic part of his personality that was only snuffed out due to trauma? The trauma he no longer has?

Logically, in this situation, c!Dream is going to want to control c!Tommy again. Being friends isn’t going to change it because they already were good friends towards the beginning of the server previously. c!Dream towards the beginning of the server did this, with the discs! And now c!Tommy doesn’t have anyone else looking for him. Once c!Dream realises that won’t work, there’s nothing preventing him from Literally Just Doing Exile 2. And we know Exile was preplanned, presumably back to when he and c!Tommy were friends, so it’s not like it was a rash, impulsive, out of character decision, it’s something he was planning to do since at least Nov 16th or so. Before any seriously traumatic events had happened to him that could have warped his views to THAT extreme lengths.

Like, there are such heavy implications here considering the past two years of lore that, if this is intentional, that’s smart, but if it’s not, it would require literally not thinking five fucking seconds about the literal foundation these characters were built on.

quackity made qsmp because of his experiences as a bilingual creator and his want to bring his two worlds together. He wanted to help break down language and culture barriers, which he LITERALLY DID ON THE FIRST DAY THROUGH THE WALL. I can't imagine a reason dream has for this other than...attention? idk. Everything about this screams that he just wants to do what quackity is doing but "bigger and better" and that misses the point of qsmp and, even if I'm wrong about his intentions, makes dream look kinda like a dick.

Oh, first-ever bilingual server? well here's the first MULTI-LINGUAL SERVER, which hinges on the technicality that 'multi' here means 3+, not 2+, even though multiple just means 'more than one'. But that technicality is bullshit!!! So, no, actually, QSMP is the first Multilingual server. Fuck off!!!!!

The addition of 'live translation' is iffy to me, I checked out his video on the mod just to make sure I know what I'm talking about and... yeah it's iffy at best. It's technologically cool, and I will give him credit for making a mod for this. However, that's not that much praise all things considered. Practically, you'll have to constantly be looking at other people's character's ALL THE TIME in order to have a conversation with them, which isn't feasible in a natural way. I'm honestly not going to say much about the translations themselves because I'm only fluent in English. However, I still highly doubt that his mod will pick up on any nuances and slang in a different language

Basically, it would have been better to not do this to not bother with a mod, and to encourage others to learn different languages LIKE QUACKITY DID.

Large servers with 60+ people and 6 leaders...so like they all get grouped together? What is this a shitty model un? And with the leaderboard, I want to laugh at the idea that this is a very very bad take on Minecraft Olympics. What will they score, achievements? How many kills someone can get in a tournament-style bracket? How many blocks mined? What on earth is 'language ranking'???? This is a server that already had multiple languages set on the premises of uniting there isn't a need for another gimmick? TBH im so baffled on this that I'm curious enough to not seriously talk shit on that part but that doesn't count for the next thing I'll rant about-

"with equal say in decision making"- First of all FUCK OFF /SRS. The biggest issue people had with the dsmp was that smaller streamers weren't listened to. They constantly tried to stream with others to get their storylines going, and yet nothing. It was also heavily implied that the main person ignoring everyone and not communicating well behind the scenes was FUCKING DREAM. First of all, as the main server admin, owner, and Guy In Charge, that's horrible management. Yet he's never spoken about it as far as I'm aware. He's never given a reason he's so unreachable. So, if I'm correct, that makes THIS COMMENT the first time he's mentioned the dsmp's shit communication issues and it's done in such a backhanded way I want to scream like YOU WERE THE ISSUE DREAM. It's just tacky, imo.

I think a lot of antis just want attention in the sense that it gives them a sliver of recognition by the creator or fans. It makes people notice them because they don't get enough attention, which L honestly. I don't feel sympathy for adults acting like that.

Like personally, I've definitely disliked creators. Within the dsmp fandoms I've never been a fan of billzo (even though he technically doesn't count there) or aimsey specifically bc of the drastic change but like I'm not sending them death threats I just ignore their content or WATCH SOMETHING ELSE. Worst for me was probably *nision because of the creeps he gave me, so I just blocked him :) easy problem gone and I'm not adding more hate into the world.

maybe it’s hypocritical of me to say bc i like my ranboo neg but it’s not something that i’m obsessive over and devote tons of thought to like i don’t consider myself an anti because of it, it’s not something i focus on outside of my anons and i prefer to surround myself with content that makes me happy because it wouldn’t be enjoyable or healthy to put so much effort into caring about a creator that you don’t like 😭😭 idk i don’t get the idea of devoting SO much time to hating a guy when you could just. not.

Bedrock bros is just. The arc was just. The arc was absolutely marvelous let me tell you that.

I am someone who watched exile completely live and let me tell you, boy was it heart wrenching. I was already a bedrock bros fan before exile, but i joined after the festival. So all I ever really knew was their dynamic after the festival which was a lot more stilted. Still, as I caught up with streams I did get to see the pogtopia pre-festival. But back to the topic lmao.

So, exile was heart wrenching. And then tommy ran and I remember the euphoria of it. And then the bedrock bros arc happened.

It was absolutely perfect. It build up the dynamic and it unfolded in a way where we could see the way they grew closer. The small, moments. The button room scene. The banter. Everything was so perfect. It wasn’t lore heavy, sure, but it rounded the characters so much. It rounded their friendship, the companionship. And in my opinion, that arc was great on content. I remember content was absolutely brimming. There were healing fics and everyone was full of hope.

But there’s also a part that needs to be talked about more, because it wasn’t just a ‘healing arc’, there’s something important about the arc that for me also made it more emotional. And it was the looming threat. During the arc, we all knew it was gonna end. I remember it vividly. We all knew eventually the miscommunication would come to a head. That they couldn’t ignore the fact that Tommy stood always by l’manberg, and Techno stood against it.

Their team up was bound to break because at their center, they’re vastly different people. And it’s showcased often during the arc. Plus, I felt like Techno thought he knew what Tommy wanted. He projected his hatred for l’manberg, his need for revenge against L’manberg, unto Tommy. He projected this feelings and assumed Tommy felt the same way

‘Tell Tommy I hope he finds what he’s looking for, whatever that is’

Is an acknowledgment that he doesn’t understand. He doesn’t know what Tommy wants, what he’s looking for. He thought he knew. He thought he knew Tommy wanted to destroy L’manberg, but was in denial. Then he thought Tommy just wanted it gone.

But he didn’t. Because Techno hated L’manberg for what it represented. And Tommy loved L’manberg for what it meant to him. A home, a place to belong. A happy memory. And a happy future. But to Techno, L’manberg represented a government that had tried to take his lives. A government that was corrupt, in his eyes.

But I think in a way, deep down, Techno knew a Tommy didn’t want to destroy L’manberg. He hid the details from him, after all. He swayed tommy on his side, calling what they did to L’manberg ‘minor terrorism’ because he knew Tommy wouldn’t wan’t to destroy L’manberg. But still, he convinced himself that he did know.

And there’s still something heart wrenching about their dynamic, even though we know it’s always bound to fail. I think it’s the fact that, despite having vastly different ideals and views, they worked great as a team.

They bounced off each other, they were dynamic. Techno was what Tommy needed at the moment. Someone to rely on. And while yes, it wasn’t the perfect alliance in the slightest, I think it was a great storyline to follow. It build up a dynamic between two characters that had spend the entirety of the first half of the season hating each other.

And then the green festival happened. And that’s when everything came to head. Tommy realized something that we as the viewers knew long before.

The bedrock bros arc was helping him heal, but it wasn’t making him a better person. Techno was a steady friend, but Tommy was becoming ‘everyone he never wanted to be’. He was straying away from who he was, where his ideals where. He’d spawned withers in L’manberg, something that would have been unthinkable for him before. And he realized this. He realized that he’d hurt people. And he didn’t want to be this person anymore.

And they separated. Their ideals were different. Their beliefs were different. They themselves were vastly different, opposites to one another. They’re like two sides of a coin that’s always put on the same team.

But while Techno always wins, Tommy always loses. And so at the end, they can never ally.

It’s a bittersweet arc. It’s a bittersweet ending. But at its core, it’s an arc about two people who were vastly different and who tried to work together. People who cared about each other, but could never overcome their nature.

(Also disclaimer that I am no super analyst so maybe this is wrong idk. Maybe it’s just the way I’ve seen it, or the way I interpreted the arc. But yeah those are my thoughts)

Hamilton Hot Take: A Hamilton that kept in the deleted songs and workshop versions tell a superior story (So Broadway vs Off-Broadway version). And, no, I’m not just talking about Congratulations (although that one should’ve also been kept).

A significant part of Hamilton’s narrative focuses on the relationship between Burr and Hamilton. From the beginning, their ideologies and the way they get ahead are completely different. Burr keeps his true opinions and thoughts close to his chest. He never reveals anymore than what will make him most agreeable to others. His persona is one of inoffensively likable. Hamilton is quite the opposite. He is never indecisive, always shooting off his own opinions. He takes risks in order to grab at better opportunities, but often this leads him to gathering more enemies. And despite these differences, Hamilton and Burr remain good friends who have a lot of mutual respect (and envy) of one another.

Until the second act that is. And the second act is also unfortunately where things start getting cut and rewritten.

As the dsmp fandom would put it, Broadway A. Hamilton is made “smooth” compared to his original counterpart. He’s much calmer and more reasonable. He’s pride and short temper have been stripped away. And Burr, in comparison, is stripped of much of his more sympathetic traits. Aside from Dear Theodosisa (Reprise) and really any mention of his family being entirely cut, he’s made to be far more malicious and villainous in other songs, compared to their original lyrics.

Take for example, Schuyler Defeated. Both versions start on Eliza and Philip finding out about Eliza’s father being challenged for his seat in the senate. In the Broadway version, Eliza is very unconcerned with this development and she and Philip leave the song as quickly as they entered, happy to go and meet the new senator. The original, in contrast, starts out with a panicked Eliza, desperate to find Alexander because she knows exactly how he’ll take this. Hamilton’s characterization also vastly changes depending on the version. Broadway Hamilton is very calm, innocently asking about Burr’s change in party affiliation. Meanwhile, og Hamilton comes out swinging, already furious, he demands to know when Burr changed parties. Hamilton is far more personally offended in this version, framing Burr running against Schuyler as an attempt to “make a fool of [him],” compared to to the Broadway version where he seems more offended on behalf of his father-in-law. The only thing that stops Hamilton from doing anything stupid for what is essentially just running for senate AND not the personal attack Hamilton views it as, is Eliza and, later in the deleted song “Let It Go,” Washington talking him down from it.

Another example is the Broadway vs original versions of “Your Obedient Servant.” The Broadway version is undoubtedly framed in a deeply negative light. He is furious, unable to understand Hamilton’s support of Jefferson, viewing it as an attempt to keep him from winning, as something done to spite Burr specifically. Meanwhile, the original Burr is more calm in level headed in explaining his feelings. In both versions, Burd makes accusations towards Hamilton. In the original, he backs up his claims with a source in the form of a private letter sent in confidant, while Broadway Burr makes accusations of Hamilton calling him “amoral [and] a dangerous disgrace,” which is never said by Hamilton anywhere and has no basis. This combined with Burr already suggestion they can name a time and place I’d they have a disagreement, makes Burr come across as far more petty and eager to start a fight. Faced with accusation with no basis, Broadway Hamilton responds fairly reasonably, saying he would need to sight a specific source for him to be able to disavow those words, and provides his own list of disagreements with. Original Hamilton, however, is very flippant of the accusations, being incredibly petulant in denying Burr’s accusations, mocking the wording of them. And yes, while both Burr’s escalate the conversations to threats, the Hamilton’s responses show just how different these versions. Broadway Hamilton stands by what he says and defending himself by saying that everything he said is true and that Burr stands for nothing. Which is completely true, so Burr then challenging Hamilton to a duel makes Burr seem unreasonable and angry that Hamilton pointed out how his own ideology screwed him over. While original Hamilton makes the whole disagreement incredibly personal, for no reason, bringing up Burr’s dead wife to mock him. It’s only then that Burr challenges Hamilton to a duel, to which Hamilton agrees to almost immediately, showing how rash the original Hamilton is, compared to the Broadway version who thinks the challenge over for a few seconds before agreeing.

And finally, “Ten Things, One Things,” really shows how far their friendship and understanding of each other has fallen off. Burr’s perspective shows how much he wants Hamilton to apologize and back down from the duel, only realizing at the 8th count that this is a serious duel, and Hamilton won’t be backing down. Meanwhile Hamilton goes into the duel considering the possibility they might die, but as the counting continues he becomes more and more convinced he and Burr will survive. He is specifically is assured of this by realizing it’s not in Burr’s political interests to kill him. While Hamilton scrutizes the area, Burr’s own fear and paranoia takes hold, convinced Hamilton will shoot, Burr resolves to kill Hamilton first, so his daughter will not orphaned. All the while, is so assured of his safety that he starts to think about going to back to his house to see Eliza awaken. Neither one of them are able to fathom the possibility of the other outside of the image they’ve created of each other. Hamilton cannot see a Burr that wouldn’t wait, and Burr cannot see a Hamilton who would throw away his shot.

Far more emphasize is placed on Hamilton’s violent anger in the original, while in the Broadway version this is lost and Burr is pained more as the unreasonable instigator in their deteriorating friendship, when the original makes it so much more complicated than that. Broadway is so much more Black and White in the story it tells, where the villain Burr shoots our hero Hamilton, rather than the far more interesting story of a friendship between two men based on mutual respect, admiration, and envy and how that friendship ultimately changed both until they could no longer understand each other and how that inability to see how the other had changed, led to their ultimate falling out in the form of final duel.

I’m not saying the workshop versions of songs are better musically (I know jack shit about music) but they make Hamilton’s characterization and relationship with Burr so much richer and that’s why the story they tell is so much better to me.

TLDR; Hamilton is less of bitch in the Broadway version and it makes me >:(

HI that’s cool WELCOMEE um um idk i kinda just jumped into it, u get the hang of it pretty quick. first thing i’d recommend is just checking all the settings, there’s not too many n just adjusting basic things to how u like them is probably a good start? like u have to turn on the option to receive anon asks, u have an activity button u can turn off (like last active two hours ago) etc. making mutuals is easier on here imo than on twitter cuz there’s no follower count and stuff so just interact w ppl leave tags and stuff those are fun ! we don’t have groupchats LMFAO💀 but it’s still easier to make friends imo

our search and block functions suck so don’t bother too much w the first but block whoever u want anyway it makes ur life sm easier. settings -> general settings is where filtering is, it’s super useful i use it religiously it’s kind of like our scuffed version of the mute function? for filtered tags just put stuff u don’t wanna see tagged with that (so like anything from #dnf to #tw *trigger* to #discourse) and for filtered content put any WORDS u don’t wanna see posts mention (like ‘tumblr’ and now posts mentioning tumblr will be hidden behind a little click.) put tws and stuff in tags, and put content creator neg and crit tags if u do either of those in the post. i just use #name neg #name crit don’t use the minecraft tag or tag unrelated stuff under ur posts (like don’t put #dreamwastaken under a post about karl.) dtblr is notoriously bad at using main tags lately but if u wanna gain exposure it’s a good idea and we’ll probably start all doing it again eventually anyway. it’s good for organizational purposes too if ur into that like if u tag all art u reblog with #art u can search that in ur blog search and find all of it

I agree im a bit annoyed that they put the rules like that for the awards, esp bc it's so clearly biased, like 'minecrafters' are only allowed to be nominated in that category but like usually every streamer has a main thing, or something they stream a lot and no one else is being restricted to only one category, like Obviously hasan is gonna be nominated for political streamer but there's no rule for him not being nominated anywhere else?? I think it's a mix of being scared of the sheer numbers the mc fandom has, and pandering to lsf frogs, but its just frustrating to see. Also I think they could've just tried like, sorting through the nominee list manually instead of straight-up banning, idk kinda annoying as a situation

no i agree and i have to assume it's hard for the people branded as "crafters" because they play on the dsmp once a month and compete in mcc. ultimately it isn't just about this one awards show, it's about the twitch community as a whole refusing to acknowledge the extremely variety-oriented dsmp members (because lets be honest, it's really just the dsmp members) as variety -- connor and jack have been somewhat successful, but those are really outlying cases. obviously i'm not arguing for like, philza to count in the variety category or whatever. but off the top of my head i can name minimum 10 dsmpers who frequently stream other shit and should be eligible for like, the valo category or the fps category or any of the non-game-specific ones like rising star or best charity events or best irl streams. i don't know why so many people in the variety community insist on catering exclusively to the lsf frogs (<- who are frequently misogynistic) and alienating the mcyt fans, when a TON of mcyt fans also watch variety content. i think your point about them being scared of the # of mcyt fans is also true, but ultimately they're rigging the voting process to purposefully not reflect the popularity of a massive category of streamers just because they don't like their stans. variety twitter stans are less volatile than the mcyt stans maybe, but they certainly aren't less mean -- if they're going to listen to some teenagers on the internet, they should listen to all of them. i'm not trying to trend qtcinderella neg, like i said i'm a huge fan of hers, but to see this division being drawn constantly is just kind of frustrating. a solid half of content i watch is variety, whether that's from people branded as "crafters" or not.
