recently i've been thinking about rowan omondi in terms of the "supportive black best friend" trope. i've had this idea for a while that it would be interesting to see a story that deals specifically with the psychological effects of being the designated "support friend", especially in cases where that character addressing/expressing their own emotions and advocating for themself would be stigmatised because of their race... and obviously, rowan fits into this neatly, actively repressing and refusing to talk about his feelings because he isn't usually given this sort of support by his friends, it's usually him who's supporting them. and i guess on a metatextual level, once he begins to address his own emotional repression and step down from that support role, you could view it as him becoming cognisant of his own role as the "supportive black best friend".

watched the kdrama celebrity over the last few days. was hooked from the first few seconds bc the EDITING in the show, & just the cinematography in general is on a whole nother fuckin level, man.

also, just. a really great show in general. v good at building suspense & throwing loops & very nice themes/takeaways. also just a rly interesting way to convey those themes/takeaways.

i think the only issue we had w it was the romance, but. eh. it wasn't so bad that it took away from the ample amount of good shit in the show.

do you have any advice on anatomy? and how do you often draw/break it down in your style if that's okay to ask? :0

if youve got the time for it id recommended just buckling down and studying skeletons and muscles! like straight up google images human body diagram, copy it a few times from a few angles, and just memorize the largest bits,. its absolutely really ugh yikes tedious to copy a gazillion bones but being familiar with even just the general placements of certain bits of bone structure or large muscles makes it so much easier to make stylization decisions, draw quicker, visualize how the body is placed in 3d space, especially with no ref in front of you, etc etc and it definitely makes me feel sturdier in my people drawing?hhhh i know for sure ive got to properly study muscles at some point like i mostly just wing it so dont trust me too much on that

here ive done a few quick general notes and such on what i think about when im drawing but im sorry im realizing now theyre sort of messy.so.if you or anybody really wants to see clearer examples of how i draw anatomy i could share some of my pages from life drawing,, which i think are like.basically how i normally like to draw anyway but more focused on being proper,,. idk but if anyone thinks it could be helpful i can post some :)

— I take little to no criticism on this. I can't imagine Ashlyn's being anything else. If she tried getting a gift she'd probably take too long wondering if theyd actually use it. Physical touch is a meh, she doesnt hate it but it wouldnt be her favourite. She said herself she isnt the best with words.

Her gift to people is just her presence. She'd be the type to occasionally need quiet but wouldn't mind being in comfortable silence with someone she likes. I feel like quality time would be her way of showing she cares for someone.

— This is an idk because im basing these off of what we know about their background and character but we know like nothing so everything about this is based off of pure theory.

The only canon part i can mention is that during his conversation with Ashlyn at the school he mentioned how since he moved around a lot he never really had a true bond with anyone.

"You seemed like the type to only get close with people who mean something to you."

So Aiden didnt just want someone he could feel attached to, he also wanted to feel cared for. Its a two way street with him.

While I could see him loving physical touch as I doubt he got enough of that as a child and he clearly loves being touchy with people I feel like with what we know I could argue really any love language. He'd probably take anything if it makes him feel cared for.

I found a picture of a chart saying "your love language may show what you lacked as a child" and he checked every box so he's fucked.

I ultimately want to settle with physical touch as he seemed shocked when Ashlyn initiated the hug likely due to being the one to always initiate them. Like above he probably just wants his efforts reciprocated.

Hed be the one to notice if someone was looking at something for a while in a store or hear it pass in conversation. Make a mental or physical note of it and get it for them.

I just imagine him being the type to be like "i know you like this" or "this reminded me of you". I feel like he wouldnt be the greatest at expressing it in many other ways so he resorts to getting people things.

Hes also pretty artsy so I can also just imagine him making people little things for them.

Like, tyler taught him guitar? gets tyler a new pick. Logan looking at something in the store? need to remember that. and so on

I also imagine her want to make people happier stemmed from seeing Tyler slowly lose interest in everything around him and wanting to be able to be the person who could make his day just a bit better.

After realizing Ashlyn likes quality time she would find a way to do that while also not overwhelming Ashlyn, say a movie or just going on a walk. Like i very well know how ppl can frame you i have been through that so when I see someone exposing another human my first thought is always how much truth it holds. Ppl on this damn app accuse you of based off of their assumptions and bs so i will always question how much truth it holds no matter what. This is supposed to be a jm biased jkkr yet she always defends jk, golden on tl in her cc. This one is just recent but there's tens of her doing so during all these months. she always said that jk deserves all that promo and so does jm but dragging jk ain't it. her frnd circle is also jkkr and all of them have defended jk. I looked back on nochujimin's tweets and I could not see one where they defend Jungkook against jimin solos.

that's where this originated from in my brain. they have pretty much admitted to being a jimin solo.

maybe a little, but I think most of people have seen "anti behaviour" where its just repetitive screaming on art that people make - whether its tagged properly or not

idk about you but ive literally not seen that kind of behavior since like 2016 or something, like most antis ive seen are mostly just voicing concern and talking about why they dont think something like incest should be normalized in pop culture.

a/n: I’m so sorry I meant BFB (Best Friends Brother) on the bingo card, so I won’t cross that one off! Also, I wrote this using speak-to-text so hopefully, it's not too bad oops. (my nails are still too long to type properly)

You had always wanted to start your own traditions with your best friends. So, when you had the chance you got your best friend Az and went on a hike through the mountains. It had been a few days into the hike when a massive cold front came in. The cold was more than just what a fire could handle so you decided to share a tent. That night was the coldest night that you had experienced. The wind was whistling through the air so loud that you could barely think. Although you were sharing a tent, that did not seem to be enough as you were shaking and chattering your teeth. You didn't mean to wake him up, but you did anyway.

Az awoke to your shaking form and immediately grabbed your hips to steady you. The touch was like something you would never felt before. You had always dreamed of you and your best friend getting together, but you knew nothing would ever happen between you two.

He whispered in your ear, “The only way we're going to make it through the night is if we share our body heat.” 

You liked the sound of that. you nodded your head as best you could and moved closer to his form. He was radiating heat, you found out, and immediately clung to him. Even though his body was radiating heat, it still wasn't enough as you were still shaking and your teeth were still chattering. Neither of you could sleep. Then Az had an idea. He started taking off his shirt and his pants and laid them on the side of the tent.  He remembered having to share his naked body heat before Rhy’s mom came and took him in.  You looked at him and bewilderment as you had never seen him pantless before in all your years of being best friends. 

He once again whispered in your ear and said, “come on you got to take off your clothes too so that we can stay warm.” 

So, you took off your clothes and laid them next to his on the side of the tent. You huddled together and you finally started to feel some relief as you were warm enough to have your teeth stop chattering and stop your body from shaking. His arms were still wrapped around your waist as you were turned away from him, staring at the side of the tent. You could not believe the position that you had just found yourself in. It was like a dream. So much so that you fell asleep.
