Hi everyone, I wanted to write a quick update to you guys :)

I made this blog in March of 2021. At the time, I followed my first math course on fractals and dynamics, and had just discovered a tool to make my own awesome fractals. This blog started out as a place to share the art I was making as a coping mechanism during covid, but as I quit making them after a few months, this blog died pretty quickly. In 2022, I decided to start posting regularly again (mostly just shitposts though), just so that the effort I put into this blog wouldn't go to waste.

Then, in the beginning of this year, I started writing my thesis. I posted one (1) shitpost about him (my well-known and popular son), and got 10s of thousands of notes. Every morning I would wake up to another crowd of people who loved the graphs, or were baffled by them, and I got showered in asks to elaborate on him.

Truth be told, 2023 has been a very heavy year for me. A lot of things happened in my personal life, and I lost a dear friend to suicide. It became so difficult for me to keep writing on my thesis, and the project that should have been finished in June this year has now been taking 4 months too many. My mental health has suffered greatly, I haven't been able to take any breaks, and life has just been generally difficult. I have spent nights not being able to sleep because I wanted to finish my bachelor's thesis so bad, but my supervisors would keep demanding more work, more edits, and more drafts. At some point, I even considered quitting my studies and finding a job.

The community has helped me to keep going. Mathematicians and non-mathematicians alike who sent me genuinely interested questions, made me laugh in the notes, created fanart (??? I'm still baffled by this but the people who did this are the coolest in the world) and generally made me feel for the first time that mathematics isn't a universally hated subject. On some days, the only reason I was able to keep going and the only thing keeping me from experiencing burn-out was the support I got through this blog.

Anyone give a shit about my Kirby-Steven Universe AU I developed for 3 seconds last year?

Broader Plot Synopsis:

Midnight Agate (Meta Knight) was a young quartz assigned to watch over the colonization efforts on Popstar with a small brigade of Rubies (The Meta-Knights). While waiting for things to truly get started, she let her sentimentality get the best of her and got to know the natives rather than killing them as were her orders. Seeing as it was a backwater planet and mission no one was watching carefully, she thought things would be fine.

While she was playing at being a knight for King Dedede (King Dedede) an undercooked Rose Quartz (Kirby) popped out, and caused some Kirby style antics for them (KDL, Adv, RoMK plots). Agate attempted to be subtle about what Quartzby's existence meant - not wanting to let on to her king friend she was an alien sent to blow up the planet - but in her continued waffling she began to watch the quartz take a liking to the planet just as she had, and started doubting the entire thing.

Eventually, after defusing the silly rivalry between her and Dedede, she began to work on deactivating gem structures (all those Ancient Artifacts we know in canon) and halting the colonization process, but accidentally alerted homeworld authorities whom then proceeded to send Halcan Quartz (Galacta Knight) when it was obvious things were a mess.

That's about as far as I got with solid ideas, but I have more fun disjointed ones. Like Midnight Agate falling in line with Halcan Quartz for a while out of pure fear and obedient instinct before eventually confronting her with the help of Quartzby and her rubies. And from there Halcan Quartz's own sentimentality gets tapped into for a redemption arc.

And from THERE the equivalent to the Diamonds in the would be Zero - a white Diamond I would suppose. I also had lots of fun ideas expanding on Agate and Halcan Quartz's connections to their planets (especially the latter to Halcandra CAUSE I LOVE HALCANDRA).

I really like how both Kirby and SU use their science-fantasy themes to tell stories about enjoying the little things and how you can kinda redeem almost anyone by tapping into that universal humanity. Or atleast I've always read the text of SU into the subtext of Kirby just cause the latter informed my media tastes so much.

I'd def fuck with this AU again if I have another SU phase. But I'm literally just talking about this cause I'm overwhelmed by how much Kirby stuff I have ideas for and needed to fart SOMETHNIG out.

hi hi! ^-^/ it's tedious time-consuming work but thinking about The OCs™ I lovingly made and people maybe liking them all one day is what drives me when i get lazy or wonder why im doing this fr.

honestly i always want to talk about em here, but there's a part of me that doesnt want to spoil too much or 'ruin' the surprise for others yknow?

Inguz & Wunjo

This was technically the first drawing I did for year... the rest of the erotical-ish pic will be under the cut (even if there's nothing explicit, the posing edges on it I think) plus a very personal rant about the subject of my art and how impacts my identity and self-reflections.

Even if is still conflictive to my brain to look at it, I like it!

I blame my aroace brain for making me doubt so much about my art in these themes. I don't post a lot of these because I think are too soft, and edging but not stepping on full nsft territory to be labeled or liked by other people into that stuff.

Is extremely personal too: the characters depicted are interpretations reduced to the bare core concepts and in an aesthetic that aligns with my most spiritual self.

That's why, instead of erasing them how I used to do in the past, I started to hoard them for my private grimoire: to try to understand this side of me, not exorcize it like there are wrong to draw or even think. I want to believe my subconscious wants to say something behind all the scratching lines...

Or just accept that like the blood moon, hormones just want to have fun and they take over my art skills, the most accessible and consenting way to make me fall for this haha

I acknowledge this is still very me: the tenderness, the longing, even the soft monochrome colors, those are all there.

Anyway, I'll keep these just for me, only wanted to share as a reminder to myself that it's alright to have complicated feelings and, who knows, Windy of the future will have the replies to these doubts.

By the way! The title references the name of two runes, Inguz (Union) and Wunjo (Joy). During that first week of the year I was reading about them, I'm still not sure if making them part of my monthly rituals but I like sprinkling them meaningfully now and then in my art!

Doing some more work on the comic viewer since I haven't worked on it for a few months :] I think it's coming along nicely! I'm not entirely sure what else I'm gonna add to it yet. The transcript system is a lil different than the one that the SC pages have and it's a little wonky so I'm thinking of altering it a bit but I'm not entirely sure how I'm gonna do that yet... We'll see.
