COOKING CRUSH

I mean... as soon as you said 'pure fluff & soft' I thought of this show, bc it's the LEGIT definition of it! it's adorable & hilarious and truly has the healthiest bl ship ever who is composed of the two cutest patooties. it's a true romcom bc it nails both the comedy & romance elements and is just THE feel good show for me :)

MY SCHOOL PRESIDENT

this is another show that has very little drama or un-cute moments. the characters are adorable, the friendship is top-tier, and the slice of life aspect really invests you in the story. definitely will have you smile most (if not all) of the time!

MY RIDE

this show is my little underrated gem! it does have SOME drama, but it's mostly about two overtly kind main characters who fall in love despite odds. it's so cute, so wholesome, and genuinely just a fucking good time if you wanna cheer up :)

OUR DINING TABLE

another show that does have some deeper, sadder moments (almost all shows do lol) but is overall a beautiful story of healing through community & food with, again, incredibly kind and lovable characters which I could not recommend more!

WE ARE

this show is one I had no expectation for... except perhaps that I thought it would suck. however, while it is in no way a masterpiece & will frankly go down as a forgettable show for me, it was actually REALLY enjoyable. this show truly has close to zero drama and is just about love & friendship. frankly the friendship element is what did it for me, paired with the unique & lovable characters. this is just a great time if you want to turn your brain off & enjoy the cuteness imo (there's a couple sex scenes tho but nothing very explicit)

WHAT DID YOU EAT YESTERDAY

yet ANOTHER show about food lol, bc one thing about food bls, there's 500 of them & they're all super cute and wholesome lol it's law :') this one is the OG, it's as non-sexual as it can get since there's barely any intimacy, but it's very wholesome and has 2 seasons + 1 movie + 1 special ep. you just follow this older gay couple through life as they cook their awesome recipes while still getting some social commentary on being lgbtq+ in japan, it's just... I fully want this show to keep getting seasons forever, I love it so much! (also idk if you're interested in gls but 'she loves to cook and she loves to eat' is also a show with the same premise but wlw & I adore it!)

THE NEW EMPLOYEE

this one is also an underrated gem of mine even though it's a very overlooked kbl :( it's a very simple story that is explicitely lgbtq+ (very rare for kbls) & the couple really is the cutest with great chemistry! I really enjoyed this one & would recommend it :)

I WILL KNOCK YOU

now... with a title like this, you might be wondering if this is truly a "wholesome" and "pure" show... IT IS! this show is the proof of the kind of silliness thai dramas can offer, and why they're so great. it's dumb and frankly weird at times, but it's also one of the funniest thai comedies ever & has great character growth! despite featuring SOME violence, it is actually just a really wholesome romcom, and the character of noey is frankly iconic af. one of my fave niche bl shows!

RAK DIAO

speaking of dumb, silly, wholesome comedy... rak diao is the first (and still the only lol) thai bl sitcom. it follows a very simple story with almost no drama and has a very lovable & fun main character. this is such a cute show which is, again, way too underrated!

BON APPETIT

what did I say about food shows & being wholesome? yeah, that! this one does have SOME drama, more than the other shows featured on this list, but it's very quickly squashed down & also so predictable I don't think it will influence your mood whatsoever. this is overall very cute & wholesome, although a bit basic. but the chemistry is very good so I'd recommend it!

LOVE SICK

now, I've mentioned over the years (MANY TIMES) about how love sick is my comfort show. yes, it's old & the camera work, acting, etc. are MILES behind current bl shows, and yes, it's actually not that wholesome bc they're cheating on their girlfriends the whole time, but... this is like the OG my school president, but even more lovable imo. it's a true slice of life, and the characters are all so cute & fun, the friendship literally carries the entire show & phunnoh are one of the most healthy ships ever (despite the affair!) this show has a lot of obstacles to enjoy it but imo it's worth it. I love it so much. it'll forever be super special for me :) also I feel like watching the first ever thai bl should be a rite of passage lol!

BOYS' LOCKDOWN

I had to mention at least one filipino bl here, and it's one that pretty much no one watched but I absolutely loved! this is soft & wholesome to the T, two guys accidentally meet during lockdown (bc they both are wearing masks with d*cks on them lmao this show is great) & fall in love but encounter difficulties meeting through quarantine. there's no drama, the chemistry is great, the story quite well written... it's so cute!

Hello idk if it's odd but I'm not a firstkhao fan (not yet at least) and have never seen any of their shows yet but I just finished reading the eclipse (thanks to oomf who kept reposting your posts and I liked the cover page I'm weird like that). I liked the novel and seeing some of your posts I assume the show is a bit better (?) So I'm planning on watching it. Anything else you might suggest for a possibly new fan of them? Also I'm not totally new to Thai bl scene I was an avid watcher of older shows like sotus and dark blue kiss but haven't seen anything for a long time so you might just count me as someone who's new to it (bc I have no idea what went on all these years) btw dope translation and after watching the show I'll definitely dive into your fics too

As far as First and Khaotung are concerned, I would definitely recommend watching The Eclipse first. It was their first show and although it does have a bit of that high school cheesiness, I’m still obsessed with it. I do feel that it’s a stronger product overall than the novel, but it keeps the heart of the novel intact. It just leans more heavily on the romance and that’s why I watch BLs in the first place.

Both of FK’s other shows are definitely worth watching as well. They are only supporting characters in Moonlight Chicken, but I feel like Moonlight Chicken is required BL viewing regardless. It’s such a brilliant show that touches on very adult themes like loss and poverty and both First and Khao do some of their best acting in it.

Their most recent show was Only Friends, which is messy and sexy and an all-around good time. Very different vibes, but if you want something a little less PG, this is the show for you.

Since you were previously in the fandom but took a long hiatus, I think you’re going to be pleasantly surprised by just how much things have changed. The industry overall has grown quite a lot. Pretty much any genre you could possibly want now comes in BL flavor and there’s a lot less rampant homophobia in the industry. The heterosexual dysmorphia that plagued early BL offerings has almost entirely been eradicated. Now, with very few exceptions, these shows feel queer.

Since you mentioned SOTUS and DBK as series you’ve seen before, I would also recommend you try Be My Favorite and Cherry Magic Thailand. BMF is a time travel romance that aired last year and Cherry Magic Thailand is a remake of a Japanese classic that is currently airing, but you’ll see some familiar faces there.

Other Thai BLs I would strongly recommend are My School President, Not Me, and You’re My Sky.

Perfect 10 Liners - Ep 1

So this series will be another series that I will watch in gifs on tumblr lol I watched 1st ep and nothing really caught my attention enough to make me want to spend my time to it. There was nothing new here, nothing interesting, it's basically a series about… nothing? Besides, I thought they didn't make uni Thai BLs like this anymore. We Are seemes to be a level above, if only because it showed university life and without the cringe-worthy focus on looks, who's hot and who isn't, like idk, to me this is so icky. The humor in a few scenes worked ngl, but in other scenes it looked like the series was trying too hard to be funny. In addition, the actors in many comedy scenes act like they are struggling to control themselves and they almost break the fourth wall, and they act in a very exaggerated way, which somehow didn't appeal to me. I'm also not a big enough ForceBook fan to want to watch any series with them, just for them (although I really liked Force in Enchante). I'm a big fan of Fluke and Gawin tho, but there are little of them, so considering all that, nothing keeps me interested enough to continue. That's why I'm counting on fans who will make gifs to keep me up to date 😉

I thought it would be a bit like We Are, but I was more invested in that show from the beginning, Phum was a real dick who stopped being a dick when he started being interested in Peem. Here Arc is an asshole, even when he's interested in Arm, which just annoys me because he's not charming enough in it to be bearable. I don't mind assholes in my BLs who are a menace to their future partners (how else could I like Semantic Error 😄), but it has to be that special kind of asshole that makes me want to shake them until their teeth fall out, but you know, with fondness lmao

From what I see this show has 24 episodes, so it's nice that the fans have something to look forward to, for a long time. Unfortunately, the show is not for me (though of course, it can pick up and improve later).

I. ข้างกัน (City) - Fourth Nattawat and Gemini Norawit (Cover) My School President OST / Original by Three Man Down

To be honest, I love both the original version and this cover from MSP. The cover just holds double the meaning. It is both part of TinnGun’s story – their first meeting, their beginning, the reason why Tinn fell for Gun and why they fit together now – and PuenTalay's story in their own universe. It connects these two universes too, and that is why I’m so fond of it. Also, Gemini and Fourth make this song sound even softer than it already is. (My other favorites from MSP ost are Healing, Let Me Tell You, and the cover of Just Being Friendly, tho the whole soundtrack is just phenomenal.)

II. ใครคลั่งรักกว่ากัน (Madly in Love) - Jimmy Jitaraphol and Sea Tawinan Our Skyy 2 x Vice Versa OST

This song is so very PuenTalay but also so JimmySea. It’s extremely soft, romantic, a little playful, cute, and just loving all the way around. It compliments both of their voices and styles, and just makes me super happy. The lyrics are nice too. My favorite part is the one where Jimmy changes the way he sounds in the chorus (Idk what to call it sorry). It’s towards the end of the song. It’s just super cool somehow and very addicting.

III. คลาด (Over the Moon) - Khaotung Thanawat The Eclipse OST

Absolutely obsessed with this song. One of the best theme songs a BL has ever had, hands down. Truly lived up to the hype I got from hearing this song in the mock up trailer. I love Khaotung’s voice, the visuals in the MV, the lyrics, the instrumental. Overall just a perfect song for me specifically. (To be fair, The Eclipse has had two of my favorite soundtracks with this and their Our Skyy 2 song. Instant hits, no question.)

IV. ก่อน - Pchy Dew The Movie OST

I don’t think any other piece of media has ever made me feel the way Dew The Movie does. It was, and still is, simply everything to me. And this song. This song. I cannot put into words how perfect, how wonderful, how special this song is. I cry every time I hear it because it’s just so fully packed with all these feelings I cannot describe. I love it. I love it so much. And for the love of god, if you haven’t watched this movie, go do it right now. 

V. ร้อยล้านวิว (Million views) - Stamp Last Twilight Pilot Trailer��

I don’t know how well this song fits the criteria for this game but I found this lovely thing bc of the Last Twilight trailer and now I cannot get rid of it. It’s been on my playlist ever since this trailer dropped in November and not a day goes by that I don’t listen to it. It’s just so good and always brings me back to these moments. I keep hoping they would keep this song in the show itself or that they will get an OST that sounds similar, instrumental and lyrical wise. Bc my god did this song hit again once I stopped being lazy and looked up a translation for the lyrics. Now I’m crying even more bc of it thanks.

Bonus: พระเอกจำลอง by Getsunova from the Theory of Love OST. One of my eternal favorites. This song just is the show.  Special mentions: These are western songs so I didn’t want to include them to the list itself but I have to mention that Blueming brought me back to sød ven’s music bc they used the song hollow for the show (the beach scenes to be specific). I am forever grateful. Also, I love the songs both Not Me and Never Let Me Go used in their soundtracks, specifically this one and this one (both are instrumental as these shows have made me appreciate instrumentals a lot more too).

Nope~ My dad was the one who picked my irl name (had I been a boy, my mom would've been the one to pick it, since my parents had that kind of arrangement). He chose a name with same first syllable as my older sister's, so the names would sound nice together :) (kind of like what a lot of Thai parents do when they have more than one kid)

2) When was the last time you cried?

I actually have no idea 😳

No. And I don't want to have any

4) What sports do you play/have you played?

I wanted to write "none", but actually I used to play in a local basketball team for a while when I was like 16/17. Did some archery as well :) Other than that, I'm mostly a couch potato lol

I have over 200 plants, do those count? And there are some wild animals that visit me every now and then (a red and a black squirrel and lots of birbs, plus the occasional neighbor's cat)

I've always liked biology and art. Though for some reason that I can't recall now, I still chose german and physics as my advanced courses. Fun fact: I didn't like history in school, but ended up studying archaeology lol. But well, it was mostly because my history teachers sucked, not so much because of the subject itself.

15) What is your dream job?

Not having to work at all 😔 Idk, I never really had a dream job or a career path I wanted to take. Mostly because my interests tend to shift every couple of years or so and I don't like to get stuck with the same thing forever. Right now I'm working as an e-commerce and online marketing manager for a small nerd company. I'm pretty much my own boss and can decide when and on what I want to work, which is great. Recently we've started building a new online shop and I've been helping out with that, which can be pretty interesting actually.

Arthit continues to speak absolute nonsense and I can't tell whether or not we're supposed to take it seriously as "wisdom"

"I think... you like me." Kongpop, light of my life, heart of my heart, I adore you. I can't believe he came out and said this already. This show is smashing together one of the most amazing characters of all time and one of the worst characters of all time. And honestly, Kongpop's amazingness is spilling over onto Arthrit a little bit and making him just a tad more appealing. If someone as forthright (to steal @bengiyo's word) and self-possessed as Kong sees something worthy in Arthit, it makes me believe that there is actually some there there, you know?

although again, is this genuine or weaponized flirting at this point? I'm not sure.

I'm keeping @clairificusrex's headcanon that Arthit is neurodivergent and ace in mind as I watch, and, as long as he isn't actively being a bully, it does help me see the character in a more nuanced light. I'll buy it.

I still love them even if they're talking about crushes on our main boys. idk, something about them feels much more complex and real to me as compared to the university girls in a lot of other Thai BLs I've seen. it could be something as superficial as their makeup and hairstyling, which feels more "casual college kid" as opposed to "tv star" to me.

Arthit free and vulnerable in his own room! It was a wise choice to put them in dorms opposite each other so that Kong (and us) and see Arthit in a new light and become endeared by him. And for some reason, Kong is totally endeared by this bully grumpy cat. Ok, I admit it, I too am a bit endeared by Arthit sleepily hanging his laundry up.

Aw, poor May, she's got a big ol' crush on the boy who's nursing a crush on the bully grumpy cat. I hope she gets a good story in these 15 episodes of show. I have faith though.

I'm kinda thrilled that Hew was chosen as class president instead of Kong. I do love a good subversion of tropes.

oh there are adults at this university after all. and they'll intervene in this one case of a medical emergency, and yet are prefectly fine with this overall culture of hazing. that's the part of this show that actually pisses me off to be honest.

but I guess we have to keep putting Arthit in situations and making him all sad and pathetic if this romance is going to have any chance to take off. or at least any chance to earn the viewers' support.

oooh. the infamous pink milk appears! i did not realize its first(?) BL appearance was in the service of a conversation about masculinity, effeminacy and queerness. fascinating.

Kongpop, just what exactly do you see in this bully? As soon as I start to think maybe I could ship these two together, Arthit does some more petty tyrant shit. I do however love how Kong keeps flummoxing Arthit with basic politeness and courtesy. I approve of flummoxed love interests.

Well. I plan on continuing the show, but I feel like three episodes is the maximum dose for binging at any one time. That was a very high rate of power trips per hour.

idk man kp was my first ever bl experience i kind of wish i hadn't imprinted so hard on the cast cause i do miss bbb? which frankly feels really fucking silly but idk even when i never thought of them as a ship i loved their chemistry and just wanted a little more of that?

either way im just happy to see bible back on screen and with jes as the new partner im fine with it? dude plays the drums and has done covers of linkin park and mcr songs (!!!!) he seems like a chill guy and apparently a really experienced lakorn actor so like it might be interesting to watch how this plays out?

idk i do think i would have felt differently if they had cast any of the actors from the company cause then that would have felt like everyone was just waiting for build to make his announcement and move on and just kind of eyeing the prize like vultures, which see what an insane thought to have right?

anyway if there's one thing i've realized in this past year its that i do NOT care for fan service i don't care if the actors are intentionally doing it or saying they are not and leaving it open for us to draw our interpretations as we please, im just beyond that.

i've watched other japanese and korean bls in the mean time and im getting back to watching thai bls but honestly like woooh boy i don't want to know anything about any of the actors ever again, like what i know so far about this new guy is more than enough

Ok your top ten facts sparked a question/debate for me. Of the oldest bl couples in the running who do you think will win, and why? BoomPeak, MaxTul, or OffGun? I have to confess I've never watching any of BoomPeak's dramas and know very little about them, so I can only speak to MaxTul and OffGun.

OffGun's new series may apparently come out in December according to Off, and MaxTul said they are going to have a new show next year. I do think OffGun stated Not Me would be their last drama together sadly though. But honestly I think for both couples those will probably be their last dramas together? Isn't Tul getting his masters or something? Idk I read that he's interested in other things, I could see him leaving acting behind, though not Max. As for OffGun I could see them doing OffGun Fun Night occasionally in the future, even if they don't plan on working together in a drama again. I definitely think Gun would do more BL in the future (isn't he rumored to be doing something with Oab again?), but I think Off would only do it again with Gun, though he seems much more open now then he was when they first started in 2016 so maybe not. Sorry I'm rambling, but I'm curious what your thoughts are.

This is hard because it’s less like acting than speculating about whether a K-pop group or rock band will stay together. Celebrity partnerships and co-brands are tricky business. 

So I thought, years ago, that BoomPeak were done. 

Then they came back.

I also thought MaxTul said they were done after Manner of Death so was very surprised when they said they were doing another (RUMOR ONLY). (I thought Tul was off getting an advanced degree and Max said something about traveling around China).

So the fact that OffGun said/hinted they are stopping after Not Me... stacked up against that? Not to mention the brand $ dump truck OffGun has access too AS OffGun? I honestly don’t know. Frankly the biggest strike against them is belonging to GMMTV.

At this juncture... I think I actually give the odds to BoomPeak. Simply because they are the youngest. 

But my money would probably be on some of the 2nd generation pairs lasting longer when all is said and done. KimCop or OhmFluke maybe. OhmFluke has such a reliable visually appealing seme/uke, and such a gentle and kindly professional manner. Even BounPrem might have serious staying power for all their crazy prankster personas. 

We know from MaxTul that to last and stay healthy a BL pair has gotta be a: 

genuine friendship + willingness to co-brand + ability to win roles 

Those first two are under the actors’ control but the third part is not. 

All that said, I could see MaxTul coming out of retirement in 20 years and doing the Thai version of What did you eat yesterday? just because they can. Kings gonna king.

I’m currently watching The Gifted Graduation, which is PEAK my tastes as mutants-just-exist is my Favorite story premise and The Gifted executes it very well. And stemming from this show, I’ve also been checking out some other dramas the actors in here have been in - mainly Nanon since I never knew about him until recently with Bad Buddy, and now The Gifted.

Also watching: Bad Buddy (very fun), F4 Thailand (I love it and its making me want to check out the jdrama version), Not Me (I LOVE!!!!) He’s Coming To Me (watching for Ohm, Gunsmile, Chanon, this drama has the Most valid reason for limited physical contact as its literally a ghost/human romance! which is like night/day compared to shows that intentionally minimize physical contact due to lack of chemistry between leads, Ohm is excellent and his scenes coming out felt very grounded and overall this drama somehow is more grounded in reality than a lot of bl romcoms despite a supernatural-mundane premise)

I plan to check out: 5515 Never Too Late (the premise of becoming your younger self is pretty solidly my-kinda-thing as magical premise in the mundane so I suspect I’ll enjoy it, multiple solid actors), My Dear Loser - Edge of 17 (depending on if I can handle its tone - I can’t do things Too fluffy and idk how this show is, but at least 3 actors I enjoy), Until We Meet Again (I hear its well written, soulmates in new lives premise which is interesting to see how its executed, however I have no familiarity with any of the main actors which is rare for me), The Player (so many actors I like in this, and I love a murder mystery), Blacklist (I heard its Not good BUT its got Nanon, Ohm, Chanon in it which is tempting...), Girl From Nowhere (heard its excellent but also horror and I’m not sure how brave i am currently), Still 2gether (I love the characters and want to see the movie when it comes out later but I also don’t know if I can tolerate another season of fluff)

I have not been invested in TV show in a long time. The last time i was really into anything was when i was watching the first Skam (season 3, story of Isak and Evan). I was sooo invested in them. I was waiting for every new clip like crazy, waiting for anything really and they gave me so much emotions. So yeah the last time i was really into any TVshow was years ago ( and wow this sounds crazy, because i feel like it happened few months ago) and even when knew that Franch version was good i waited until it was finished to watch it (and i was not disappointed, it was perfect).

And here we are in the present.

As soon as i saw the trailer for this show, 2gether the series, i was invested, the actors were handsome 👌🏻 (i have seen Bright act in other show and liked his acting and thought if he was in this then i had to give it a try), the story line was interesting, so yeah, i was into it even before it was eared.

Fast forward few months after, i watched first episode and i was like: hmmm a little different from what i had in mind but still good. Then second episode came, third, forth and boy i was into it... and on the seventh episode i was blown away... i was like this is amazing such a good acting, i felt emotions and it left me with a lot of feelings. I just could not believe that i was sooo into this show.

And so after episode 7, I don’t know what happened, idk maybe i was expecting to much but after episode 7 my expectations was sooo high, i was so hiped ( i think a lot of you had high expectations after episode 7 as well) but... (and it hurts me to say and to admit to this) but something changed after that episode... and I think i know what 🙊 it was Sarawat. I don’t know how you all will understand what i am trying to say but i just want to express my feelings, so here it goes:

Sarawat- I loved him so much in the firsts episodes of the show, he was so different and so refreshing but after he ‘got’ Tine and they became boyfriends, idk but something changed in his character. I feel like i lost him after that, i just did not see him as the same Sarawat as he was in the first seven episodes. (from the spoiler videos that i have watched, I have to say that that Sarawat was just awful, sorry to say this but book/Sarawat gave me creeps, how he enjoyed to make Tine cry and few things that he did, so happy TV/Sarawat was not like that even though i feel like we did got a glimpse of that Sarawat too, sadly, but that is how he was represented in the book)....

So what i was and am trying to say is that i am a little disappointed (but not in Bright or Win, oooh boy they are amazing, couldn’t dream of any other actors in their place, they are perfect and their friendship gives me so much happiness). Yes i am disappointed, the writers could have done such an amazing job but noooo they did what every other Thai BL series did and why whyyyy just why, it started so good but in the end idk, i am not satisfied... I feel like I wanted to say much more but my thoughts are lost.

i hope the last episode will be a little longer.

I am still enjoying the show don’t get me wrong , but i lost the excitement i had before.

Hahaha unfortunately, currently I don’t have anything else on my list after MODC - Will catch up with Trapped translations (wow it’s been long guys I’m sorry) and fics, and I just ordered the MODC novel so I may also do translations for that (sorry also to anyone who feels like they got cheated by my translation schedule for Trapped cries) and when the MODC Diary Logbook comes I’ll translate that too - Still HAVENT figured out if I’ll do fics for MODC because I’m not that good at the characters... And getting back on The Untamed gifs and merch and stuff!!!

I’m going to Taiwan next weekend to see Chris for his concert, and also buying the MDZS and TGCF books!!! Gonna be spending my time reading for a while hahaha

In terms of events - The Untamed Boys (coined TUBS in short which is pretty hilarious) is doing a concert in Bangkok on 26th Jan next year, much to my sadness because that’s Chinese New Year period idk which Chinese person will be able to go for it cries I know my parents will break my legs if I even suggest it HAHAHA - THERES also MODC fanmeets! Today is Chengdu, apparently Tianjin and Guangzhou are in the works. I’m quite sure Bangkok might be a stop, and Korea is slated for 1 Feb next year!! As always, many many things going on!!!

I’m so broke because of all these shows, my wallet is honestly glad for the break, but I definitely welcome any other new distractions!! I think the sad part is that we don’t have news of History4 CRIESSSS I NEED EITHER TRAPPED SEASON 2 OR MODC SEASON 2 EITHER IS FINE BOTH IS EVEN BETTER - Nothing to look forward to. But then again I never expected 2019 to be so full of awesome shows too so... LETS WAIT!! Lemme know if u see anything interesting I’d love to check it out 😘

I love offgun in this new show, the dynamic is great and it's cartoony but in just the right way *coughmiddlemanslovecough* but what has been your favorite and least favorite elements so far and do you think it will get deeper or stay sweet and candy-coated? (I'm down bad for either!)

yessssss, the cartoonish aspect is so fun! ngl I haven't watched middleman's love when they decided to replace mii2 but apart from that I always feel like no other country can do silly like thai dramas lol. like idk they just can push the boundaries of comedy while still making their show good in a way most other tv shows I've seen can't!

anyways, my favorite elements are the chemistry, of course, which is just so... offgun. even though I usually prefer offgun in shows where they're more upset (lmao I love my men crying leave me alone), it's really nice to see them in this kind of show & their natural chemistry is so perfect you can tell they barely have to put any effort for it to look amazing. apart from that, I truly love ten & prem as characters SO FUCKING MUCH. I'll try to keep it short bc I legit could write a whole essay about them but I truly love how they're both genuinely good people who should be bland & boring, but instead are not AT ALL. also, despite the cartoonish-ness of the show, they genuinely feel like real people. we have ten who is both a hot, rich, smart & perfect love interest (which are usually boring ngl) but is also very dramatic & silly & has that nerdy loser quality to him (and it's not just the glasses I promise) which is such a paradoxical combo yet works SO SO well??? as for prem, I wasn't as sold to him before the show aired but I FUCKING LOVE HIM??? he's again, kind of the cliche main character good guy that the viewer is meant to see themselves reflected in, but they made him sassy and feisty, and proud but also insecure and I just... root for him so hard ngl. these two are such strong characters they're really carrying the show, but another element I love is the acting bc I didn't think gun could slay a comedic role this well & I'm sorry I ever doubted him! as for off, it's incredible to see that he once again managed to make one of his characters absolutely unrecognizable from his others, idk if anyone else noticed or if I'm just that one completely unhinged off stan but he kinda changed his way of speaking for this role??? he speaks way softer & more proper which is a very drastic change from who off is usually lol. also another element I love are the locations & especially prem's house/restaurant... it looks so cozy & beautiful 🥺

the element I don't like is gmmtv not putting up the uncut version of the episodes on their channel. the cut version can stay on tv who fucking cares but them not putting out the uncut version for inter fans is ACTIVELY hurting the show. first of all, the cut scenes should NEVER have been cut in the first place, they are not superfluous at all & develop the relationships (especially firedynamite's one) further. second of all, the cutting of the scenes just make the editing look SO weird bruh, the cut eps look unprofessional. and lastly, it hurts the views of the show, of course, bc most people are not gonna watch it on gmmtv's channel & are just gonna wait for it to leak on kissasian & dramacool, which is simply horrible. the whole thing about gmmtv releasing their shows on youtube is bc it profits them greatly in terms of viewerships & marketing. so yeah, that's my least favorite thing about cooking crush. there's some other things but they're nowhere near that bad lol so I'll wait for more episodes or for my official 'axelle judges bl shows' review to put everything out at once.

lastly, I do think the show will stay just sweet & quit surface-level. from the original mock trailer, we know there will likely be one crying scene but that's kinda it I imagine. personally, for a show to become my favorite I need more angst & more depth, but I never really went into cooking crush thinking it would give me that. I've rarely encountered a comedy that doesn't stay quite surface-level. do I wish the show would explore the characters' sexualities, ten's daddy issues, fire's mommy issues & tenprem's social inequality more in order to make it more deep? yeah, I'm ngl. do I think that's what they're going for? absolutely not. that being said they might surprise me bc girl next room: richy rich (with off as lead & by the same director and screenwriter) did explore the mindset of an ex-poor person become suddenly rich as well as social inequality with quite a bit of nuance, so we never know!

Hello! I have an anon controversial train of thoughts, in case you're still doing those.

I want to preface this by saying I mean no disrespect to anyone, it's pure curiosity. Provided everyone is a willing participant, they are taken care of and paid properly, no one is forced to do anything, and everyone's boundaries are respected and all that, how would you feel about any of the bl/ql couples doing actual nc scenes? Or like separate sexy videos, just for fun. Do you think any would be down to do it? I think the fandom would be very devided into "hate it or love it" if that ever happened, people would either consider them confirmations that their favorite imaginary couples are real, or hate them for giving the fans (who have nothing better to than project onto famous people) false hope, and queerbaiting, even if it was prefaced it's not real and shot just for fun, as a side project. Maybe in characters as extra episode for their series? Something like LITA special episode, but more. The key point is that if *the actors* were willing to do this, I don't mean it as another forced fanservice act from thier companies. I don't really know where this came from, I think with the increasing amount of bl/ql pairs who seem genuinely comfortable with each other, and not just dead fish-kissing, I was curious if any of them would be interested in doing anything like that (and earning some extra cash in the process). Actually, I wouldn't be too surprised if something similar was to take place soon (though probably less explicit and consensual), some "special perks for top spender at X company" or something, or already taking place (very non consensual, cough War Of Y cough).

hi, so that's an interesting question, one that I can only give my opinion on even though who knows what will happen bc it depends on the actors & directors. I also wanna say that I'm a bit clueness about bl news bc I now try to stay in my own bubble of wholesome & worth it shows, so for example I didn't watch lita or war of y & didn't know there had been any issues with them. now though, I think if we're talking about having sex for real on screen, that's a practice that's always been used in movies more than in series as an artistic practice & I think that would also be the case in thailand. also, while bl shows are allowed to be more sexual than their straight counterparts bc they don't contain women (gotta love sexism lol), I think people forget that thailand is still a conservative country, therefore any show that ends up on tv channels such as gmm25 or one31 go through censors, which would NEVER accept nudity or explicit sex. even though streaming platforms are very present in thailand, I have yet to see a bl show not also be shown on tv, but some very violent & explicit straight dramas like the revenge & remember 15 were made exclusive to wetv & viu, which affected their international viewing especially. moreover, in a world where bl is such a different industry compared to literally any other in the world, full of fanservice & toxic fans, I don't think most established thai actors would be willing to go through it. maybe show some ass at most but that would be it. that being said, a newbie who's comfortable in his body & wants quick fame? I definitely see that happen, though I think the controversy it would cause in thailand might be too much to handle for now. soooo... maybe? personally I don't see it happening any time soon though. seeing how a lot of the sex scenes in bl are already very convincing, idk why they would take the risk to get their show pulled off the air and alienate half of the fandom for that, when fake sex is already very popular. one day, though, it'll definitely happen.
