Turning Wheel by SPELLLING

I was tagged by the wonderful @oneheartoverthemoon to share four albums that are constantly in my rotation 🎶💜

1) The Turning Wheel by Spellling; such an important album to me. I’ve wanted to travel into the world where this music is being played. I think I wrote about how it feels like stepping into a milky, mother of pearl wade pool while wearing some elaborate harlequin makeup outside of a whimsical victorian castle.

2) Grace by Jeff Buckley; this album makes every fiber of my being feel like it’s being soaked and ringed out on a loop. His way with words is so inspiring and there is a period in time when I listened to last goodbye 72 times (I was down bad)

4) When I Get Home; so so so important. Like I can’t stop gushing about how magnificent this album is. Solange had said that she had so much to feel when making this record, which is so important to my own creative practice.

3) Charm by Clairo; I know it just came out but it’s my album of the year and all of the influences bring me so much joy. It’s endearing, silly, soft and oozes a lovely mix of idk seeing someone you adore across a party and pants-less mornings making pancakes

so i randomly thoughts of this when Glorious Masquarade (what ever the fuck you spellled that) event came out and it's regarding Rollo's Backstory. it is revealed that Rollo is in fact has a younger brother most likely the twisted version of Jehan, Claude Frollo's younger brother. (let's ignore the fact that i have Jehan in my name)

so i have this idea, fic maybe?

Rollo and his younger brother, let's call him Yohan is victims of an abusive household and they run away from their house on one fateful night.

they arrived at a cathedral with Yohan in his back Rollo gets closer and closer to the entrance but one stair away his vision starting to blurred but at the exact time his vision slipped away the door of the cathedral opened.

Rollo open his eyes to a warm room and he panicked because Yohan is no where to be seen and then Francis(my oc) entered the room trying to reassures Rollo that his little brother is fine.

Francis is my twisted version of the pope from the hunchback of notre dame.

and the cathedral just kinda... adopts him and his brother i guess? Francis became friends with Rollo and Yohan everything doing great until Yohan got his unique magic.

you see in my headcanon, Yohan has a strong magic that have developed ever since he is a baby because of that the magic is slowly draining his energy. it only worsens that he started to develop his unique magic because of that Yohan is forbidden to use magic too much so he kinda help with brute force.

in my timeline Francis and Rollo is the same age, 16-17 maybe and they started to go to NBC. at first Rollo refused because it means to leave his brother but Francis pursued him with the help from Yohan. Yohan is 2 years younger than them so he is 14-15 y/o and still studies from the cathedral (he isn't allowed to go to school because of well, magic stuff)

finally Francis and Rollo got to NBC and everything goes well in their first year.

but suddenly on one snowy night Rollo got a letter from the cathedral asking him to go home immediately because of emergencies regarding Yohan.

Rollo of course goes back immediately accompanied with Francis.

but he's too late.

Rollo steps into the dark room and Yohan stands up to attempt to greet his brother. Yohan takes step by step extending his hand to hug his brother. Rollo also run to his brother.

"Brother you-"

Francis saw the golden string of life snapped. oh how the fates is unforgiving.

Yohan falls to his brother's embrace forever eyes closed and installed the last act of liberation.

Rollo hold his brother, shocked.

"Yohan!"

After his brother's death Rollo spirals to obsession and grief. desperately tugging at the "Cause" of Yohan's death. magic. promising himself to take vengeance to the only thing that kept his world together.

what is the world if his brother isn't in it.

he worked himself to the top with the only one that kept his sanity intact is Francis. he became the student council president.

"Rollo, are you really going to do this?" Francis followed Rollo through the hallway.

"We already talk about this Fran," Rollo doesn't even stop.

"You do know that the consequences will be big, this is the same as declaring war against Briar Valley! Rollo you aren't thinking clearly."

"I am willing to repeat the fae war if it means to destroys all magic in this god forsaken world Move, Fran"

"This isn't what the Rollo i knew would do."

"I guess i'm not the Rollo i used to be."

Willow tree march by the paper kites reminds me of sledge so much just his spiral into war specifically the ‘we all still die’ part lmaoo but the song just gives me sledge vibes idk i cant really explain it beyond that

Mars by sleeping at last- the boys in general ok (also 1917) but the way they were happy before the war and then the reprecussions of it its the perfect song i adore it
