last minute pre-grandparent-visit room deep cleaning has revealed that within the drawer i tend to assume just has old, off generic birthday cards and theater/concert programs there are also many, many going away cards and letters and things from the last couple of times i moved away. i guess i always thought of it as such a lonely thing, and i talk a lot about how i don't think i made Real friends until recently, and not to get choked up on main or anything but i think maybe i was completely fucking wrong

I'm Dumb For Just Now Noticing This: Riddle

This is just gonna go over how the event uniforms look similar to the dorm uniforms. Nothing fancy. I may get shit wrong. (Also, the events are going to be major events, not birthdays and cooking stuff. Sorry. (Also, I'm only doing events that work with the dorm uniforms, if that makes sense. So some events may be ommited)

This is now gonna be a multipart series.

Cause I need another one I guess.

It's also gonna go character by character.

So it's gonna take a while.

But that's ok.

Here is our reference. The things to take note of are the hearts (obviously), his cape, his sash, his shoes, the different symbols for the cards, and the color scheme.

Ok, first off, you can tell the red color is gonna be in all of these. It also has a rose, which not all the others have. (or he may be the only one, I didn't check.) His little undershirt also has Heartslabyul print on it. Other than that, he's just very proper. (I guess he still has gloves.)

He still has boots in this outfit. He's also decked out in hearts. Plus, he's got the heart on his chest in red flowers. Also, this might be random, but he's got the same kind of short skirt thing going on. Still got gloves, though. (Also, his boots have hearts at the top of them still, and he's also got hearts on his knees, which is kinda where his normal boots come up to.)

And the thing that started this entire thing. So, very obviously decked out in hearts, but his hat also has the other card symbols. Still has boots which also still have hearts at the top of them. He definitely looks like one of those people you see accompanying royalty to shit. Main thing I notice, the hearts.

I know the designs won't be too different, but still. There's definitely a lot more black (and I notice a lot of his event outfits give him more black, probably because his dorm uniform is completely white.) He's got cards for his long skirt, but still has part of his long flowy skirt part. His checkered sash seems to have turned into belts. Also, this took me a minute to look at, but the heart cards and diamond cards are red, while the spade and clover cards are white. Idk if this means anything, but I thought it was interesting. Other than that, he's just a lot spikier.

A brief analysis of the magic tricks in cat

quick disclaimer I have not done magic in years and never did anything that advanced so my knowledge on the subject is limited this is not a how to the tricks this an analysis of the tricks.

First trick! Making a ring disappear this is i’m 90% sure impossible! :)

making rings disappear is pretty common and before rings magicians used fumbles but with that you usually have a cloth to assist or you put the ring on one hand pretend to move it to another but really its still in the first!

the only way I can think of is that he slipped the ring up his sleeve here

and then the dove idk anyway to make that work the ring is feasible but the dove?

I think the ring pretty clearly represents marriage were as the dove represents love so through lies turning marriage into love / making marriage disappear and turning it into / replacing it with love

I think this trick represents kazui telling hinako about not loving her / him lying about loving her the ring/marriage fall from his mouth like how we use our mouths to speak and he uses his magic/deception to make the marriage/ring disappear

Moving out of order briefly lets look at this shot there is lots of magic equipment in the ground

Cards! Cards are used for a variety of tricks you’ve probably heard of pick a card any card but don’t show me , take a card from the top shuffle the deck and I’ll find it , making cards disappear reappear , change suits and or numbers , you might have seen the episode of X factor were one of the judges drew a card from a shuffled and magian had the card printed on his shirt. Cards are used in all levels of magic and are pretty much always slight of hand/misdirection/prediction card tricks are some of the most beginner friendly though I can’t think of any tricks that only use one card like are depicted here usually you need a deck or a few other cards to make a hand.

wand! Wands are very traditionally magic well all of these are , wands can be used for again the verity of things though they are associated with hat tricks , making things appear from in side the hat (the way I did this personally was using a slit and compartment in the back of the hat and sometimes a hand puppet but there are many ways to do hat tricks)

as fun as puppet symbolism is I doubt this method was on the mind of the mv team or they would have included a puppet or hat

wands can be used for misdirection and moving your audiences attention to somewear.

another trick you might if heard if is what often referred to as the pencil trick were you pinch the end of a pencil and shake it so it appears to be wobbly you can also do this trick with a wand the reason I mention it is these tricks (apart from the maybe spoons) are all beginner friendly and wobbly pencil or wand in this case is about as beginner friendly as you can get.

Going on more about common tricks flowers in a wand a trick well publicised by tv producing a bouquet from a wand , bouquets are associated with lovers.

coins are again used in loads of tricks lots of one’s involving hands and misdirection theres a trick that swaps a ring and coin between your left and right hands , coins have to sides two them (two sides to a relationship? To faced), theres a trick where you make a coin disappear through a table. you place a coin on the table slam you hand down on the table on top (like your forcing the coins through the table) then you sweep the coin of the table but make it look your just pulling your hand off the table

spoons! Spoon bending is a super popular trick and though bending spoons with your mind isn’t beginner friendly (kinda breaking the pattern) there is a beginner alternative

Where you use you hands to make people think you have bent the spoon

string! The only trick I can think of is the disappearing knot

all of these are hand tricks (typically) , deception and redirection tricks and like mentioned prior they are all popular and beginner friendly

As for the card its a ace of spades , ace before being used for playing cards was for the one side of a dice and hence has associations with bad luck. The spade is very similar to the heart which is the holy grail and the card being a one could be a reference to a one sided relationship

ace can be either one of the highest or lowest card’s depending on what you play.

This is a trick wear you use you fingers to manoeuvre the ring to the fold of your hand so it looks like its disappeared

going thru one of my yu-gi-oh binders and making a list of which cards i have in the european print and which in the north american/worldwide print, it's actually p interesting 😁

so, very early in the game (the first 5 sets exactly - LOB, MRD, MRL/SRL, PSV + LON, as well as other early releases like the starter decks SDY/SDK and the first tournament pack, TP1) there were distinct prints for europe, which had the cards numbered, for example, XXX-E001, instead of XXX-001 like in north america??

it didn't last very long tho, and starting with LOD, the european releases were changed to match the XXX-001 formatting.. and to make things even more confusing, later reprints of the first 5 sets in europe also retroactively changed their numbering to match the original XXX-001 format 😆

anyways, looking thru my binder of secret/ultra/super rares from the first few series, here's what i've come up with..

unsurprisingly, the european prints reign supreme 😝

however, a couple of things to note:

i only included LOB to MRL bcos oddly, all of the cards i have for PSV and LON, even though they could have had the european numbering, have the north american/worldwide numbering 😳

idk exactly how or why that happened, but my only guess is that by the time i got into yu-gi-oh, the reprints with the north american numbering were becoming more common than the original european ones?? which is definitely possible bcos i distinctly remember pulling some of these cards from packs when i was a kid, specifically the "relinquished" and the "raigeki" 🤔

i didn't include them all in the list, but all of the cards i still have from the SDY/SDK starter decks i got as a kid are the european print, as are all of the TP1 cards i have 😁

probably not gonna do anything w/ this information, cos altho it'd be nice to have them all w/ matching numbering, it'd be a pain and too much money to replace all those north american numbered cards and not rly worth it.. but in the future i'll probably stick to buying the european prints for these sets, like i did w/ the LOB-E dark magician and red-eyes i got recently, to keep things neater going forward 🤔

playtested my hearthstone-like last night. i haven't actually played the real thing in years, but started researching it again recently. testing didn't really tell me anything i didn't already know. gotta have a test where i actually have everything "printed out" (virtually) first. i can't believe randomized decks that only have minions up to 4 cost and spells up to 3 cost because i didn't finish making them yet had obvious balance problems

the player who went first + got the first hit (well, both players were me, but yknow) never ended up taking any net damage again until they won due to lack of board clears (mostly due to the above)

both players were running out of cards a lot without much draw or anything big to spend mana on (also due to the above lol)

i didn't get to test any other kinds of cards, especially ones that would differentiate it from the game i'm basing it on, either

it was good to double check in action just how many different kinds of counters i need to use to mark different things and not forget about them, though. damage, buffs, debuffs, added keywords, etc. i was kind of amazed how many things it seems like you need to just remember in your head to play MTG, and i'm trying to avoid that or any mechanics that wouldn't be feasible on a tabletop (sorry Discover and creating copies, i will do my best to simulate you somehow)

i don't know yet if this game is going to be faster or slower than HS, but i know it had some issues i want to avoid. biggest one, imo, is having so few options at any given moment, due to the tiny opening hands that may contain cards you can't even afford to play yet, that it's basically playing itself half the time. if i let that happen here i've lost sight of the point

i'm gonna give you more options and more hero powers/cantrips, and let more of the game happen out on the table where you can see it and less secretly in your hands. that's what i REALLY want to test out and see the effects of, and take on fixing the problems it introduces (if it's anything like HS, i expect aggro with a tempo advantage to completely take over and am trying to keep this in mind with as much of the card design as possible because i want to maintain its combat system anyway)

i also decided early on that i want to avoid the usual generic medieval fantasy setting, or even my own fantasy setting that i was going to use at first. inspired by yugioh and just, idk, toy stores in general, i decided i wanted something cartoonish that spends as little time as possible explaining its lore or having consistent tone and theming. luchador plant girls will hold off robot dinosaurs while your wizard birds research how to build a summoning circle for a monster truck

this was meant to be a quick and simple project and there's no classes or class restrictions because of that, but then it ballooned out of control in scope a bit. i hope i can stay motivated to the finish line on this thing because the point was basically just to finish something

what if joe hills was in yu-gi-oh

okay so i've said before that if he played competitive he'd play a gimmicky control deck but that's NOT the same thing as what his role in the yugioh anime would be, because unless you're yugioh vrains, the anime mostly ignores "good" ""dueling"" in favor of the plot.

(vrains actually has decently well-written duels in the regard of "yeah i could see this as how you'd play irl"; most of the time the duel is. questionable card game playing. none of my favorite duels in the series are my favorite for "oh that was a good card game" though they're my favorite for the EMOTIONAL STAKES and how those played out. remind me to rant at some point about kaiba and yugi in dsod. i digress, none of this is relevant right now.)

so, what would he do in the anime? so like... joe has very strong side character vibes in my head. he shows up in like, one or two episodes as a gimmick, probably. except he strikes me as... starts as a gimmick character but he keeps on showing up, actually, and eventually turns out to be important to the plot, you know? maybe not entirely of his own will, mind you, but like,

okay. in his first appearance he shows up playing some deck with a bunch of silly poetry-themed names or something. or wait. A PINBALL ARCHETYPE. joe gets a pinball archetype that the TCG has yet to print from the anime yet. some kind of pinball-themed deck. he speaks in rhyme. he screams one-off character in his first appearance. except then near the end of the episode he like... idk, he goes and does something plot relevant. has access to the mcguffin. becomes a fan-favorite side character.

i don't know where i'm going with this i'm thinking. daitokuji vibes. spectre but not evil vibes, just like, the vibes that character has in relation to the plot. something like that.

i realized while going through the cards I’ve designed so far that Allison is the only Hargreeves sibling I haven’t done a card for yet, which is a crime

I was planning on doing Temperance next when I noticed this, so keep an eye out for that! Theres a very high chance that that’s next up

Also, I’ve realized that while I’ve been working on this series for much longer than I’d meant to at the start, and I’ve had a plan for several months now, I’ve never actually told you guys what my plans are for this series! I doubt anybody at this point remembers that when I put The Hermit up I said no promises about finishing the Major Arcana, but I wanted to say that yes actually, I am going to finish the Major Arcana. All the cards are planned out and everything. I am definitely not doing the whole deck tho lol.

First off, while this easily could have had a mana cost, I think leaving it off was the right choice. I don’t see anyone ever casting it as a vanilla 1/1 for 1, and the lack of a mana cost makes it a bit more exciting. I think this does actually want to be a little bigger though, even just a 2/2 (2/2 would be perfect actually, so you don’t have any incentive to morph this for its stats rather than its switch ability). That way, when it switches, the thing you’re giving up is just a little bit more than a 1/1. I think the sacrifice there makes it a bit more interesting. I like how it uses the hidden information aspect of morph though! Having something like this in an environment is gonna make for some interesting mind games. I think those mind games might demand a double blue in that morph cost though, because this is definitely the type of effect that should be a little harder to splash for methinks.

I’m not gonna lie, I went into this contest hoping no one would do something like “a white card that only costs white mana that for some reason is also red”. And yet, this ability just works in a way i genuinely didn’t expect. I love that mechanic a lot- it’s like a black border way of caring about watermarks. So good job there. The biggest problem with a card like this, a card that is randomly a color it shouldn’t be based on its mana cost, is that you need a good reason for doing that and it’s hard to think of one. But I think “all the cards that are a part of this faction are both red and white” manages to cross that threshold. Now, onto the card itself. This is a multicolored card. Not just in that it has the color indicator (or equivalent), but in that this is a card you would only play in a deck that’s both red and white. I can’t imagine every card with allegiance is going to be like this because that would make limited hell. An important part of a multicolor set is monocolored cards that multiple decks want. Now, a card like this definitely isn’t necessarily bad. In fact, I think I like what this has going on. That is a strong, but not unreasonable payoff for uncommon. Lorewise, I wish it told me a little more. Nothing about this card, from the flavor to the mechanics, tells me much about the Blazing Blades. Who are they? What do they do? I really wish this card told me a bit more. (Also I don’t know if this needs the color indicator honestly. The frame has you covered aesthetically, and the keyword ruleswise.)

Honestly, the “~ is all colors” text is kind of take-or-leave here. I could see it printed with, but I could definitely see it printed without it too. I think it’s fine though. I like how the X let’s you pick which abilities this has, but how even once you’re not able to spend any new colors you’re still encouraged to pump more mana into it because of the hydra ability. Making it legendary was a good choice, because it would be obnoxious if there are multiple of this thing on the field to keep track of which has which abilities. I will admit, something about the aesthetics of this card throws me off and I’m not entirely sure what. Maybe the way the lines of the third ability all line up like that? Idk. It also should have a multicolor frame if it has the “~ is all colors” text. And it definitely should have been a 0/0 not a 0/1. I like it though!!! It’s a very solid build-your-own-creature.

So, the Warden is some sort of gift giving genius, meanwhile Hawke gave a book to an illiterate man and an incredibly illegal amulet to an already wanted criminal. What do you think would've been actually good gifts to give to the DA2 companions?

(I would actually argue that Hawke’s book gift is actually a wonderful gift. Not because of the book itself, but because of the teaching him to read part. That’s a skill he can use for the rest of his life.)

Some other gift ideas, though:

Aveline - Wesley’s Shield (how about instead of that annoying conversation with her about the Ser Aveline shield, Hawke reveals they kept Wesley’s Shield all this time, if they did? Or maybe they bought it back if it was sold?)

Varric - A deck of playing cards, maybe

Anders -  One of those ever-glowing stones (since he lives in the sewers) or oh, perhaps his own little printing press (so he doesn’t have to write stuff over and over again by hand)

Fenris - Some fuckin shoes but no really, how about something warm for the winter, like a sweater or blanket IDK (since he’s from Tevinter and I also doubt he keeps the mansion well heated)

I don’t have time to waste getting a piece of paper to validate my knowledge that I’m already putting to use at Kaiba Corp everyday. --but I certainly support everyone staying in school as long as they can. Kaiba Corp offers a free college tuition program for any employee, paid ahead of time, and schedules can be worked around class and homework time as needed.”

My oracle deck is just a deck of playing cards but I found them at an antique flea market and I just thought they were sooo cute that I ditched my original plan of getting a certain deck haha. But I love these so much more than I probably would have if I had the other deck. I could have gotten a tarot deck if I really wanted but simplicity and having lots of various meanings and interpretations appealed to me more than getting specific cards and having trouble figuring out how it fits did.

I sort of made up my own ritual for cleansing and charging them which didn’t seem to work so I ended up burying them in my backyard overnight and when I tested them it was absolutely perfectly accurate and I was stunned. Then I did an interview with the deck and all was good and about fairness despite some harshness. It was all instantly understandable except that the strength of the deck was “mockery and malice” and the weakness was “a widow” (which is still confusing to me) by the list of meanings I was using. I was surprised and somewhat intimidated by the “mockery and malice” thing but I just interpreted it as my deck kind of being sassy like others claim theirs to be so I just accepted it and laughed.

My deck does give me the feeling that he wants good connected readings with me though, at least for now while I’m still very much like a pre-schooler when it comes to divination. The best readings I’ve done so far are the ones that took place in a quiet, calm, and solitary place that I knew was safe. No matter how much I tried focusing while doing even small readings during meditation time in class at school I just couldn’t get reasonable cards despite me knowing that I was in a completely safe space with lovely people surrounding me. My deck just wasn’t having it and just wanted to have a more personal connection with me with my readings. My deck gives me “wise old man” vibes (sort of reminding me of Gandalf from Lord of the Rings tbh haha) and feel I would really benefit from listening to what hes asking of me so I know he is able to make me feel truely safe and understanding with him.

I currently use two resources for getting clear meanings from the cards since I obviously can’t interpret them myself yet. I first used the list of the individual card meanings that was in the post that inspired me to do cartomancy x. I later found this web article that lets me have a more personal interpretation of the cards and explains the elements of the suits and what the numbers mean etc. so I have to piece them together myself and I get a more personal and in depth reading. I use both just for the sake of clarity because I’ll be honest, I’m not the smartest kid when it comes to figuring things out myself lol.

Anyway, I really love my wise old antique grandpa (or maybe grandma, because of the widow thing? Idk haha) oracle deck and I feel like they love me back and just wants me to feel comfortable and safe with them and have a good lasting relationship ♡♡♡ plus they’re super cute with their messily printed sunflowers and adorable autumnal-feeling border with the cute leaves.

I fucking love emo karaoke

I love going out and getting compliments and being called pretty. I love my bartender who cuts a few drinks off my tab because I sit outside and smoke cigs and talk with him.  I love people who ask if I’m in a band. I got invited to be in this couple’s band last night. Hope something happens with it lol. I love getting girls numbers even though I don’t really plan on hitting them up. I love boys complimenting my hair.

Last night was sweet. I keep not getting a full head to toe picture of my outfit which is annoying, but I have been getting filmed doing my songs every time. Maybe if I put enough on the internet someone will see me and think I deserve to be a singer like justin bieber lmfao. (shrug) I’m vain enough that I love watching myself. 

Got to hang with peter and his new gf susie. Hadn’t seen him in forever, that was sweet. Tried to bounce to Ruby afterward to make out with some non binary girl like last time I did emo karaoke but alas it was deader than dead. So I came back to the end of the emo show and ended up getting a ride home from some friends who gave me like 5 bags of milanos. fucking sweet.

I also flirted with the host of the event last night and asked her out and got her number but she’s emotionally unavailable unfortunately. And it seems like she’s very busy. But still gotta shoot that shot lmfao. 

This is my attempt to be productive. I’m sitting in bed naked. Well in a robe and slippers. Not watching the end of my anime though I might take a break soon. Trying to do as much productive shit as possible because I finally have a day to myself. It feels kinda nice, tbh. When you’re with someone all the time you don’t have a lot of time to just... sit. Kinda digging this idea of getting some space from jill a little more.

I’m gonna do a dumb arts and crafts project where I want to put some velour or fuzzy material on some socker boppers for bdsm cooldown I don’t know why but it’ll be funny.

Also I’m trying to research if silicone lube or oil based lube is better for long term butt plug wear but it’s hard to find the results I need.

Hm. Research is going well. Not on anything I ought to be looking into like my UXR but in general lol. Maybe I’ll check in later

fuck I wish I still had that fabri tac. I don’t want to buy a new $10 bottle just for one project that seems excessive. Found a good alternative for pretty cheap though, hopefully that’ll work. Socker boppers project is go lol.

accidentally unplugged my laptop and started working on some flogging skills for a bit. Can’t figure out the hand pattern for florentine though, this calls for some youtube videos.

Also I realized I should totally just ask my gay buddies and pet play buddies at slosh tonight what kind of lube I should try out next. duh. Of course they’ll know better than some dumb website trying to push a product.

hm. I wanted to improve my eye makeup but there’s really not all that much that I found you could do with just eyeliner. I kinda wanna get some pretty eye shadows but I’m not sure if I should do that in person or not. I still wanna look like that pretty trans girl in Euphoria sometime. 

Decided I’d throw away these Nori Maki snacks that I have from hawaii still. They were best by like october but they’re like sealed and they’re just rice crackers lol. But mmm seaweed wrapped rice crackers coated in this soy sauce shit? Soy sauce is just one of the best flavors on the planet I think. Does soy sauce compete with like pesto and hoisin as one of my favorite sauces? You don’t really think of it as a contender but yknow when you have some GOOOD soy sauce and it slaps a little bit? Idk how they make it or if they even do make it but they have this stuff in a little container at grand asia market and it tastes so much better than kikkoman. Like it’s richer or something. Yum. 

Maybe I’m just hungry lol. Getting the diet back on track is like 50-50. On one hand I took a nice fast day on saturday just ate some nuts and stuff, got some brie and salami to take to work to go for some super light and non-expensive days. But on the other hand last night I got sick of salami and cheese cuz i was drunk and ate a cookout burger and fries. I ordered fries for myself for the first time in months, blegh. 

Okay too much nori maki this has gotta go lol kinda makes my stomach feel weird. But good idea for a vehicle for soy sauce flavor lol.  I kinda want like... soy sauce gum right now.

Damn. My new cheetah ears came in. but they’re not really cheetah ears. They’ve got that yellow with the dots, but they’re way too long and pointy. Kinda would make for a nice fennec outfit or something I suppose, but definitely not for my kitty needs. I think I might have gone too hard on my 2nd+3rd tail+ears, and now everything is just gonna look shitty in comparison. The curse of balling out is you’ve gotta keep up the lifestyle 😹 But no matter. People call my leopard print cheetah all the time anyway, it looks close enough. Plus snow leopards and cheetahs both have rounded ears anyway. Which is something most people on etsy don’t seem to get lol everyone just makes triangles all the damn time. 

So that’s a bust. I’m so happy I can just throw money at stupid shit and not care about it like this. I wonder how crazy I’m gonna go if I DO end up working at google. Me? With ACTUAL amounts of disposable income? OwO Damn maybe I should start actually working. Nahhh not yet.

uhhhh I just played a lot of magic the gathering. I got 15 wins so cool? got up to gold? Idk if I have the determination to go all the way to mythic this month. Or any month. I wonder if I’m fundamentally winning less games or if I’m just not as excited? My win rate couldn’t have been THAT sick, could it? I guess there was the streaks of playing RDW and mono green where I would win 7-0 in a half hour. Those were good days lol. 

Hrm. I’m gonna procrastinate by moisturizing my hands now. Watching this guy play a cool dimir control deck, I could get behind playing something like that.

I guess it’s like I’m not a pleb for magic anymore, so I don’t feel motivated to unlock the cards. Decorating my house! But specifically putting together my Christmas village. I spend all year looking in thrift stores for new figures and buildings! Well because it is August.. I’ll just tell you the one I made back in the beginning of the year. Be less hard on myself. I think I’ve been holding it up pretty well!

It has been secular for me for the past few years but I really wanna return it back to religious this year. I think religion is very important, but it can be easy to put it in the back of my mind.

We all decorate the tree. My dad does the lights outside, with the help of a sibling or me usually. I put of the Christmas village. Everyone just goes to the boxes and puts up whatever they grab. The whole house is decked out! (and I decorate my own room)

Oh Holy Night: What do you do on Christmas eve?

My family goes to my grandma’s house and my mom’s side of the family is all there. We open the gifts we give each other by taking turns in a circle--it’s cute. I love my family so much. 

Away in a Manger: Favorite Christmas Movie?

This is SO hard! But I always make time to watch “A Christmas Story” and “Elf.” (And usually “A Charlie Brown Christmas”)

I don’t actually! But I have some of those small frame ornaments you are supposed to put a picture of someone in. For those, I print new pictures of famous people each year and hang them on the tree. (Usually referring to them as “Uncle/Aunt [insert famous person’s name]”

A real tree every year! We all go out together to pick it--one of my favorite traditions because we take my dog (a yorky) and he has such a fun time running between the trees.

Yes! Everyone in my family has a stocking (including my dog). They get filled with nuts, gum, and airheads!--we snack on the airheads all morning while everyone is taking turns opening their gifts.--

Nope, I’m staying home. Though I might go to visit a friend for a week out of the break. But Christmas day is defiantly at home.

When I was younger, my sister, my two cousins, and I would put on these little nativity plays for our family on Christmas Eve at our grandma’s house. Those were fun :)

Duuuuuuude I have SO much Christmas clothing! But I guess my favorite is this big Christmas dress I got from a thrift store. It is an XL while I am a Medium... so it’s pretty big on me. It is a checker board print of a bunch of Christmas stuff (cookies and milk, santa, candy cane, etc.) It is ugly BUT i wear it on Christmas Eve, usually with a long sleeve turtle neck undershirt (with Santa’s on it), and a white belt. 

But a close second favorite is my shirt with yoda dressed as Santa.

I stopped believing maybe in the fifth or sixth grade. Idk if that is too old to believe in him BUT I was in denial.

A gift I gave that is my favorite is this vest that I sewed for my sister. I embroidered these box patches of the Bob’s Burgers main cast silhouettes. And then I sewed the patches to the back of the vest--also put hamburger buttons on the front. I think it was my finest work B)

1. what’s your favorite thing to do when you want to chill out and just enjoy yourself?

I’m so lame, it’s sleeping, mostly lol. I love naps like nothing else. As for hobbies, if I’m actively roleplaying with anyone it’s that, or relaxing and reading fanfics or watching Markiplier videos. Just hanging out by myself, really. (Tho cuddling the BF ranks on the list too lol)

2. describe the most beautiful thing you can think of or imagine

Object or concept? If we’re going with object... the perfect-fitting dream dress, heart shaped neckline, flowing skirt with iridescent colors that all blend into one another in varying shades of pinks, purples and blues... (idk I’m working on cosplay right now so all I’m thinking about is clothes). Concept? Coming home to your loved one(s), falling into an embrace and feeling that all is right with the world.

3. what is your favorite combination of colors?

Pink is my all-time favorite standalone, but I really like how royal blue and turquoise look together especially on clothing. 

4. tell us about an AU that you desperately want to make but haven’t been able to, for whatever reason (can’t think of a plot, your faves don’t work well in the setting, w/e)

;^; I actually don’t like AUs too much... I get attached to a world AND its characters, not just one or the other. That’s why I don’t particularly care for reading fics/doing rps that are set in an existing universe but using OCs or AUs. Now Alternate Reality/Slight Canon Divergence I can do- I love me some ‘what if X happened instead of Y’. So I guess I’ll go with an AR answer since it’s kind of AU...

I’d want to do an AR of Boueibu where the CA don’t leave and join the DC, either staying in their CA outfits or becoming Battle Lovers themselves to fight the VEPPer. Now that would be entertaining.

5. what does your phone case look like? did you go for style or sturdiness?

I work in cell phones, so I love me some cases lol I swap out cases so often it’s not even funny. When I had an iphone 6/6s I had something like 10-15 cases at one point but now I have a 7 for work so I don’t have as many  yet;

I have the first one I bought, a Speck hardshell with a purple/blue galaxy print on it. I got stuck with a black phone since it’s a work phone, so I wanted something that matched but was cute. The one I actually use at work is another Speck in turquoise with a slot for a credit card so I can keep my Target card on me at all times so I can buy lunch faster and not lose my card. The one I’m using right now because the Galaxy one is starting to deteriorate is a pink and navy otterbox symmetry that I got on clearance. I wanted the teal one but it was too light colored and was gonna get dirty too fast. All my cases are a blend of protection/function and style so...

6. what is your ideal hairstyle for yourself?

Just cut my hair again, actually; something short and easy to maintain with bangs to hide my forehead that I don’t like but cutesy. I always go with a chin-length bob with sideswept bangs when I cut my hair so... that’s it. 

7. what’s the first favorite song you can remember having?

The first song that I liked just for myself and not because my parents played it all the time was Blue (Da Ba Dee) by Eiffel 65. I fucking love them. 11-year-old me was all over that early 2000s electropop shit. Going back even earlier, though, I want to say it was Hey Hey (We’re the Monkees) or Last Train to Clarksville by the Monkees because my parents played their favorite music for me and my sister when we were really little and I’d dance to everything. I also really liked the Beatles and Kansas around that time but the Monkees pops into my head more easily.

8. what’s the grossest food anyone has ever tried to make you eat? (and did you eat it?)

OH GOD I’M SCARED OF TRYING NEW FOOD WHEN IT’S NOT MY IDEA. 

No, seriously, I actually cannot think of an answer to this question because I am so afraid that I’m not going to like something new/want to vomit when I try it that I actively avoid trying things when someone tries to shove a forkful of something in my face or encourages me to eat it. So any new food is gross. I get so pissed off when my bf or my parents do this because they KNOW I don’t like to try things unless I decide to do so, myself (because then I’ve mentally prepped and imagined what it tastes like and why it might be good) but they don’t understand my anxiety/aversion. They just think it’s a picky thing. It’s absolutely a ‘I am afraid of vomiting therefore I do not want to risk trying something that might make me gag especially in a public setting’. I don’t even have a strong gag reflex, I just have a texture thing and a phobia of vomit :/

I guess to phone in an answer- at the time cheesy potatoes were my worst enemy. I still don’t like cheese that much, but I’ve learned to like varieties of cheesy potatoes prepared well enough. 

9. would you rather never drink anything but water again, or never eat anything again besides the blandest, most boring necessities?

Ack, this is difficult. I suppose while I like water well enough I suppose I’d rather eat bland necessities because my palate is rather limited anyway and that’s kind of been my diet in general until recently when I’ve been experimenting with cooking. I don’t think I can live without soda or flavored carbonated water.... or alcohol. <.<

10. describe your dream home

Somewhere near an ocean where it’s cool enough that I can have the windows open to air out the house and somehow there are no bugs to fly inside. It’d smell like the ocean and i’d be able to hear it outside. The house would be big enough for my family but small enough that it isn’t too huge with lots of cozy living spaces, a game room, a huge sewing/craft room/office for me with more cozy seating while I work. It’d have a nice, well-stocked kitchen with a dining room close by surrounded by windows that look out at the sea. There’d be windows everywhere, basically, but all surrounded by thick, heavy curtains to draw when it gets dark. There’d be a screened-in patio with comfy deck furniture and maybe a minibar, that overlooks my own private pool (maybe an infinity pool!) and backyard oasis with lots of flowers and trees that mostly blocks anyone from seeing into the yard but has views of the ocean peeking through. The bedrooms would all be large enough and super comfy and my bed would be so, so soft and huge enough so I could fit my partner and several cats (and maybe a small, not smelly dog) comfortably. The master bath would be my own private sanctuary, with heated floors, some seating, a huge, gorgeous bathtub big enough for two people and a separate shower that has multiple heads. Y’know, rich people bathrooms. My pets would have everything they’d ever need (catios, lofty cat highways and lots of scratching posts and toys; a big enough side yard for the dogs to run around and maybe a built in doggy bath to get rid of dog smell lol). Oh, and the entire house would have one of those sweet Sonos sound systems so I could play music all day in each room. <3

New Year’s Party Set Up

umm pretty much whatever the fuck you want. guests, activities, foods, if you like it it shall be there.

Personnel

like all excessive events, there is a veritable army of folks to keep it running smoothly. Security are wearing those black tux tee-shirts with white print of ‘security’ on the back. Waitstaff and all other help are wearing white tee-shirts with ‘staff’ across the back in black with a screen printed black tie, bowtie, or bow/tie with suspenders on the front. Annabelle thinks these uniforms are fucking delightful, Maria thinks they’re atrocious, and so they reappear year after year 

unlike the staff at the New Year’s Eve party, those at the New Year’s Day party are largely unaware of the supernatural or the nature of the family employing them. This excludes Janet (annabelle’s personal assistant and a human), the top security staff (annabelle’s cousins, a mix of born and bitten vampires) and some various others. idk how many really- more than a tenth but less than a fifth?

Silver Stars

upon checking into the party, each guest receives a nametag and a personalized list of what they might be interested in (particular activities Annabelle thinks they might enjoy, people they may want to speak with, food suggestions based on their dietary needs, what have you). Nametags all have a star in the bottom corner. if a star is outlined in black, that means the guest is underage and will not be served alcohol, though the interior color of the star is largely random. BUT

anyone who is ‘supernaturally’ aware gets a silver star (this applies to staff as well). this grants the guest access into the upstairs of the house (it is roped off and guarded, generally), will mean they can get ‘specialized’ food items, and other such privileges. blood, for instance, is not offered to the general public, but if a vampire were to go the bar, tap their nametag and ask to see the selection, the bartender (regardless of their own status) would present the vampire with a closed menu that the vampire could peruse. the vampire would then ask for ‘number five’ and the staff member would retrieve that for them from the cooler Annabelle has already prepared. the vampire would be sure to close the menu before returning it to the mundane bartender, who is being paid enough that he or she does not really care about the weird things rich people do. (annabelle does try to have at least one silver star staff person at each ‘zone’ of the party, tho, and usually silver star guests would interact with them)

assumedly, annabelle would explain this all to these specific guests and alert them of any changes that may have been made from last year, like unfortunately if you would like a raw steak you will have to get that from the house kitchen (which deno would be able to get into by showing the security guard his nametag)

some humans dislike nametags as everyone should know who they are, but alas, they will then not be served alcohol. so. they put up with it.

transport

as previously alluded to, annabelle does offer plane tickets to guests to get them in and out of town. she also rents out the local hotel and car service - guests may check into the hotel as early as 8 am on New Years Day, and the rooms are booked until 8 am on Jan 3. towncars with staff drivers perform regular runs between the hotel and the Yates plantation to discourage drunk driving, and though guests are welcome to drive their own vehicles to the party, they will not receive their keys back until security determines them safe to drive. otherwise, a towncar will return them to the hotel and a valet will drive their car back for them, or they will driven back in the morning to pick it up. annabelle is all about safety yall

layout

assumedly, the Yates plantation was at one point at least 500 acres or so and perhaps still is, but most of it is farmland that annabelle pays other people to manage or has since sold of, so. i imagine ‘party’ activities are only really happening in maybe a 5 to 10 acre area that is more residential (has buildings, lawns are mowed, flowering tree, etc)

also im all about historical accuracy BUT a significant portion of the original mansion and other buildings did burn down after the civil war (actually NOT annabelle, i think, but who knows) and renovation of the property only began in the 1950′s when annabelle and matt decided to start trying to have children and some of that was redone anyways in the year before Alex’s birth. 

assuming the main house faces south, one would drive north on a very long driveway for some time before coming in view of the house- long circular drive, huge ass trees lining it, etc. towncars use the circle drive, everyone else pulls off into the lot on the right before reaching the house. on the lawn between the lot and the house’s main entrance is the check in table

on the back right hand side of the house is the separated kitchen, annabelle has converted it to industrial kitchen and office space for her various pursuits. family and silver guests would have access to this.

behind the main house is a patio/deck and garden combination that is almost excessive even by annabelle’s standards , and beyond that is the pool, which is drained and fenced off

on the eastern lawn (right of the house and kitchen and bit more northern) is the largest bar, and a more traditional bar set up with a smaller dance floor, karoke, what have you. maybe some dance dance revolution and arcade games off to one side?

north and west of that area (but more east than the pool?) is a silent auction that runs most of the night. items might include any number of things, as they are amassed by Annabelle and donated by guests or friends. So like, a piece or two by matt or even a commission from him might be on there. Super classy kitchen stuff from Annabelle’s line of products, or subscriptions to her magazines. A grand piano. A breakfast date with Justice Sotomayor. Random historical artifacts. Who the hell knows. Whatever you want to be there, it is. All guests can vote on which charities they wish the proceeds to go to, and which charities they’d like to see included next year  

on the western lawn (north of the house but maybe not as north as the karoeke bar area) is what used to be the carriage house. it is open on two sides so that a large L shaped dance floor goes through it if that makes sense- some people can dance inside or make requests of the dj, but the elevated platform itself spills out into the night air. the space between the two exposed floors is filled with chairs and tables and even some couch and benches, as well as towers of cubbies to put your shoes or things in. the ends of the dance floors parallel to the walls of the carriage house have tables of drinks and refreshments, as well as a bar each. the third side of the sticking out floors have tables and tables of food lined up, and chairs and tables to sit and eat at arc between these two ends so that the carriage house is completely encircled by festivities.

south of the carriage house and the main house is an art display, set up in zig-zagging aisles. Matt does the curation to highlight new and upcoming artists that he thinks are promising and deserve exposure, as well as old favorites of his that he has ‘on loan’ from museums. (matt owns a shit ton of art that he has given to galleries over the years in exchange for anonymity and if the possibility that he could maybe ‘borrow’ back a piece or two on occasion.) there are usually a few of his own pieces as well, though he thinks that is stupid and self-promoting and he tries to change the piece information to list the creator as ‘unknown’ or ‘anonymous’ late enough in the game where Annabelle won’t notice or wont have time to change it back) there is also a bar and food over here as well, though not nearly the selection, and Matt is known to hover near guests who are examining a Monet and eating SLOPPILY RIGHT NEXT TO IT DEAR GOD

hmmm what else is there

okay well obviously the main house- guests are allowed on the main floor, and generally the people in the house are more of the snooty-rich variety than the buy-gold-leaf-glitter-because-i-can variety, and they have minimal interest in mingling with the masses and enjoying themselves. so they stay in the soundproofed house and eat and drink things off serving trays and pride themselves on their good taste and breeding. if they are really feeling wild they might play cards (and resent that they are not allowed to smoke indoors) or ask the girl on the harp if she could switch to the piano a bit so they can really let their hair down. you know

there’s also random places across the massive lawn- another garden maybe, or a large table with a stack of boardgames and smaller tables about it (probably several of those ‘stations’). i imagine one can get sparklers somewhere and perhaps other small explosives, but they are not allowed inside house, the auction or art gallery.  maybe those are located north of the carriage house? somewhere alex is hoping bram and winona will not find

pretty much there is ample food and drink anywhere you go, but food central is at the carriage house and booze central is at the formal bar area. it’s night but everything is lit up with strings of twinkling lights, and there are a lot of ‘paths’ laid across the lawn, but they are largely ignored except for by staff wheeling food trolleys about. tablecloths and other decor are bright, solid colors and lanterns hang off of the flowering trees and are embedded throughout the garden areas. annabelle is an exuberant but tasteful decorator and she knows her audience- this party is mostly for enjoyment and has a wide range of guests, so things look ‘fun’ but not cheap. dishes are not disposable but napkins are, and guests can either leave their dishes at their tables or deposit them in the large rolling trays marked for such a purpose 

other things on the property but not accessible or easily in sight would be the stables and current ‘carriage house’/garage, perhaps some barns or farming related buildings, and the remains of the slaves quarters- those with good eyes may see some in the thick woods to the left when they heading up the drive , perhaps a quarter mile from the house

activities

hmm so obviously all the locations described above have various activities that might go with them, but im sure there are others. there are some ‘games’ that are usually played as well. for instance, there are often food tables (usually the ones not at food central) that have a theme to be guessed, and guests can submit their ideas. the submission box says how many tables there are this year and may give hints on possible themes and a guest might guess ‘table 77- foods eaten in disney movies. table 52- foods of french aristocracy circa 1650′ or whatever. there is also a game of trying to trip the hostess up by greeting her with your nametag turned over and seeing if she remembers who you are- annabelle says this is fair as she insists she knows everyone she invites and is introduced to, but has outlawed the participation of those under 10 due to their rapid aging (twins and multiples are fair game). idk there can pretty much be whatever
