Some extremely self indulgent headcanons because I am in so much pain

TOUCHSTARVED characters ranked by the quality of their period care, from best to worst

1. Leander

You think Kuras would be the best at looking after a partner on their period? Wrong. Leander provides not just medicine and a comfortable place to rest, but he also comes from a place of empathy and not a medical stance and can give better emotional support. For example, he'd provide whatever food his partner craves regardless of the healthiness of it. The food might not be of the best quality, given that it's probably from the Wet Wick's bar, but junk food is junk food. He'd also be good at offering distractions or things to do. He'd be incredibly attentive and always ready to offer help in any way, shape, or form, at "Bloodhound rates".

2. Kuras

Kuras, being a fairly ancient doctor, probably has a lot of experience in providing menstrual care. Pain medicine, a hot water bottle, and somewhere to rest are provided right away. He definitely has a variety of menstrual hygiene products in the clinic, all of which are made available. As far as emotional support goes, I'm sure he does try his best, but mortals and their emotions are still a fairly distant thing to him. He tries to provide healthy and nutritious food, with varying degrees of success due to how bad a cook he is. Maybe he'll fetch something from a vendor if he's asked nicely, though.

3. Mhin and Ais

Mhin and Ais are tied for third because I feel like they'd have similar hands-off approaches. They'd care, but they don't seem likely to be proactive about it. At least not to the same degree as Leander and Kuras. Ais would at least make tea though. And you'd get to cuddle Princess.

4. Vere

Assuming he doesn't go into some kind of blood frenzy like a shark, he's probably not going to be the best. Half because of his self-absorption, and half because of the Senobium not letting him out all that much. If he's able to, he would probably put together the best Aesthetic Self Care baths, though. Maybe nicks some fancy wine to share.

Snowy!! My oldest StEx oc! (She/Her)

She's a snow plow, a very big one at that.

She's Momma/Poppa's sister, a fellow steamer.

She hibernates until the winter. Even then, she's usually not woken up unless there's a LOT of snow.

She has ice skates instead of normal skates.

She's a gruff lady, very stern and focused on her job.

Greaseball is petrified of her-

When she hibernates, she p much sleeps standing up like a horse - some years, she wakes up to find that she's been decorated for the holidays, lol.

Had been asleep for like 5 years straight and was woken up the winter after the big championship. Greaseball almost had a heart attack (engine attack?) Seeing her again after so long- for good reason because she wasn't happy about what happened with Rusty (her beloved nephew).

She's also Hotspur's mama and doesn't like that her son converted to Diesel. Her husband and Hotspur's dad is a Steamer called Fireball, with whom she has another son, Coldsnap.

Refuses to retire. Ever.

The leader of a group of other winter specific trains that also hibernate.

Cedric, the snazzy lad (He/Him)

Very sophisticated for a freight train, he'd rather hang with coaches.

He dreads getting dirty, he straight up passed out when he woke up to find some graffiti on himself.

He's dating Sally the Saloon Car, another oc of mine lol. They form a friend group with Runny.

He's basically Rarity from MLP, minus the fashion stuff lol

Gio!!! (He/Her)

He's whatever the train equivalent to a test tube baby is. He's only a teenager, a very excitable one at that.

Very unstable, she zaps people and circuits around her when too excited, which is often. That's why she was sent to Apollo Victoria rather than the race track.

Covered in warnings lol

He has headgear because a robot with headgear just makes sense.

Has a foster mom named Battery, she cares deeply for her but wishes she'd slow down a bit.

Avid gamer. Loves Sonic.

Considers himself to be Geiger's brother, they don't return the sentiment lol.

Geiger, or as they're known on the streets: "That big jerk-" (They/Them)

Another test tube baby! This time, an electro-diesel!

Where Gio is considered a failure because he's unstable, they're considered a failure because they're ugly (to those that made them).

They were supposed to be the perfect combo of Electric and Diesel, sleek but sturdy, flashy but rugged...well, they ended up massive and clunky with health issues and with a color scheme that isn't very esthetically pleasing... (Also, i run back and forth on whether trains have children like humans do or if they're just built, but if they can have babies, Geiger is infertile like a mule. Another "flaw"...)

Due to this, they were dumped at Apollo Victoria and they're VERY angry about that.

They'll fight with anybody. Once they tried to bite Krupp and...he shot them-

Chose their own name, they just thought it sounded dangerous. They don't know what it actually means-

Little Lassie (She/Her)

She's just a baby!

Well, she's like ten or something idk.

Not much to say here, she's cared for by Momma/Poppa and she's a very curious thing.

There are worries about what will happen when she grows up and realizes she can't be a racer or a passenger train...

Runny bunny (He/Him)

I yap about him so much lol-

Long story short: He's named after eggs but also his allergies. He doesn't know what he's allergic to, but spoiler alert: it's other trains. Animals and humans can be allergic to their own kind so I figured trains could as well. Poor kid.

There's a misconception that he's sick and it'll spread to his food.

He's very shy and sweet

Has to stay away from Rusty because of the soot, it irritates him.

Dresses very modestly for a coach, covering up helps with itchiness and rashes.

His beau is Hydra. Because hydrogen doesn't emit fumes or dust, and that's very easy on his sensitive nose and eyes.

Darry the dairy king (He/Him)

Milk boi lmao

The only non-diesel member of Greaseball's gang.

He moos like a cow-

Southern as hell, if he talks too fast you can't understand what he's saying.

Very proud of his work.

Because it's funny, he's lactose intolerant in human aus.

His name is a pun on "Dairy".

The rest of the freight felt very betrayed when he joined the gang, but he joined because he wanted some respect for once and GB gave it.

Rig. (He/Him)

Oh this poor baby

He's rusting. He's grateful that it hasn't gotten visible, but it will eventually.

He knows how they treat Rusty, and joins in on the bullying, so he's terrified of what will happen when his rust gets worse.

He's keeping it at bay with a lot of vinegar and other rust removers and steel wool pads, but his joints are starting to stiffen...

Too embarrassed to go to the repair trucks about it.

Hotspur. He's called Hot for a reason 🔥 (He/Him)

A converted Diesel, born a Steamer.

Estranged from his family of Steamers, they don't like that he converted...

Rusty is his cousin, either way he's joined in on bullying him.

He's so insecure- but he masks it with flirting.

Very gay- has crushed on and/or dated every dude in the yard. Hasn't found the right guy yet. Is scared it might be CB (it probably is-)

-their nose is naturally hooked, but it's bumpy and lopsided because it has been broken!! he has been in a fair share of fights, never starting them, but they've gotten pretty good at ending them all things considered

-i have given them the title "The Apostate" :]

-they would go to church with Martha because it would make Grace too existential and scared but Martha didn't like going anywhere alone, sooo

-he tried to teach Martha to read but gave up; Martha got too frustrated (she learns eventually, thanks to Beatrice!)

-they know how to sew! fixes his own clothes and stuff

-Grace offered to try and heal his foot before but he politely declined; it's a part of him that he's accepted

-Grace's trial and execution was the front page story for a hot minute, so he had to shout about his best friend's death and sell biased & inaccurate stories about it so he could get paid :"]

-occasionally refers to Martha as "Marty" (Beatrice parallel BEATRICE PARALLEL)

-after Martha disappeared they started learning piano. He didnt get far though because he couldn't stand going in the church (to use the piano), especially without Martha

-when Martha returns, the only thing she could bring back of Grace was a jar with her heart in it (since her body got Dissected as fuck, chopped up to study n stuff) and anytime Eli is over at Martha's house (Martha kept it on her windowsill (where else is she gonna put it lol)) he like,, greets Grace's heart? I used to do this with an urn, it's a thing I swear. he would greet her heart,, he'd say hi to Grace, idk man.

-He and Martha still celebrate Grace's birthday; they set her heart jar on a table in front of a pastry or something. They don't take it very seriously (they need some lighthearted moments in their life god let them joke about their trauma please)

-after The Plot, Eli often goes with Martha on her (every-other-year-ish) visits to Aster and Beatrice. Beatrice and him get along very well (because of course they do) while Aster kind of scares him, but it's all good :]

-this one doesn't happen anywhere near the plot, only happens when hes like an adult n stuff but I think it's funny so...Eli COULD NOT keep a straight face at his Lavender wedding with Martha. Martha was more composed but Eli was NOT helping her keep it together Lol. After the fact he makes fun of Martha for being a terrible kisser (THIS IS SILLY GUYS PLEASE IM BEING SILLY)

-his glasses were accidentally stepped on by Ronnette when she was trying to wake him up one time (he passed out on the floor) but Lucy would rather DIE than go to the optometrist again so he's dealing with a cracked frame right now

-Lucy hates Juno almost as much as he hates humans,, but like he's never gonna hate anyone as much as he hates humans so (sorry Dawn, he wants you to perish so bad)

-Lucy is so sure that he's a MASTER at blending in with humans. He is not. He and his garish purple vest, unkempt And uneven long ass hair, and a shirt that's either A. Probably Gene's and therefore too big for him, or B. His shirt that has an entire sleeve missing. He doesn't remember where he lost the sleeve but he hasn't gotten around to getting a new one yet BUT HE WILL SOON GUYS TRUST (it has been 5 decades at LEAST)

note: sen req me this and yes. idk how to do dance idk... anyway i read some historical manhwa and that's that i guess.. im using like my manhwa knowledge to write this.

the newest rising star lady among the young nobles, [first name] [last name]. she's considered a one in a million genius. usually it's the men who will be sent to academy. the rarity of women in the academy is low. the majority is mostly men.

as men is supposed to be the head of the family. they need education, but who said that women can't be a heir too?

[first name] [last name] the only child and the heir of [last name] family. the pride and joy. [last name] family is known for their multi-talented. an all-rounder, simple as that.

every year, the academy will host an event showing off their best students; hosting an event especially for them to be known. the academy is keeping everything inside private from the public so this is the only time they would reveal to the world on who is their best students.

the event will be lasting for three days. the last day as predicted is always the time for them to have fun. they're required to go to the ballroom night with a partner but going there alone is okay.

"[first name], who will you be choosing to go to the blue lock event this year?" every year, students will be curious on who [first name] will take to go to the event with her. it has been years she's going to the event alone. maybe this year she will choose someone.

"it's a secret." putting a finger across her lips.[first name] already have her eyes set on someone and wish that the guy would be the one to ask her out. his speed amazed her, it was as if he have become one with the wind. a beautiful eyes and hair, he's what she desire.

he was a new student, just one year younger than her and yet in the first day of the academy — he already made a big impression on [first name], but he doesn't know about it. through gossips, [first name] heard many things about him. some say he could be a princess in disguise because of his feminine features — the best yet, is that this man might be a superpower user. which is a rare sight in the world.

only 10% people in the world have it. if people knew among them that there is a superpower user. one might be jealous and kill them. so that's why, those superpower user have to keep secret.

putting a hand over the lower part of you face, you hide your blushing face. suddenly someone shake you hard "earth to lady [first name]! are you okay?" your friend flick her fingers again and again to get you out of your head. "don't tell me... you have a crush on him!" she grin, your other friend agree with her.

"just keep your voice down, ana." you replied. you aren't denying it all as you are quite sure of your feelings. would it be weird for a lady to ask the man to dance? the blue lock event is just two months away. you cannot let this chances go. ana and cecilia (the other friend) , eyed you suspiciously but shrugged what you just said off.

you bid your friend goodbye and make your way to the dorm. when suddenly you hear a meow and a voice. "were you really that hungry?" a soft man voice could be heard and it was soothing to your ears. you walk towards the voice, and see the scene you weren't expecting to see in your life.

"looks like the cat is fond of you." you spoke up. the red-haired man slightly jump by your sudden presence. he look into your direction, while you make your way towards him. he's looking at my direction!! you may look like a calm person on the outside but certainly you're not on the inside.

"not really..." he chuckled and softened his eyes "when i first encountered this little guy, he scratched me and hissed at me." he added. you may be crazy right now but when he soften his eyes he look so cute to you. you tried to keep your composure, keyword 'tried'. "a-ah.. is that so? pardo have always been wary of new people..." you stammered, looking at the black cat.

"pardo...?" he mumbled under his breath with curiosity. does this cat have a owner and is it her? he wondered. "pardo is a name given by the students. so it basically means this cat is the unofficial pet for the academy. the professor doesn't mind at all about this one cat wandering here." you shook off your thoughts and beamed at his curiosity on where did the pardo name come from.

"i see..." he raised his eyebrows and look back at the cat, eating the treat he had given the cat. the slight end of his lips perked up. why is he so pretty... there's really no turning back from not liking him. maybe this is the time for you to get to know him for a month and ask him out to be your partner for the ball a few days before the event.

"why are you standing up, lady [first name]? you should go and take a seat here." he pointed to the bench that's empty beside him while he stood up from there. "well then, excuse me." you sat on the bench, fixing up your skirt.

"i wouldn't be a gentleman, if i let you a lovely lady to only stand there while i sit here." he reasoned with you when you ask him to sit too. your body stiffened at the 'lovely lady' and could feel the warmth coming in but you kept the composure and smile at him. "thank you, chigiri." you thanked him, putting a hand on your chest.

"you knew my name?"

"were you uncomfortable? i knew it because of the gossip that was around. the nobles wouldn't really shut up about it..." you worried if you make a mistake there but he doesn't seemed surprised about the gossip and only shake his head indicating he wasn't uncomfortable at all.

"well, do you know my name?"

"of course, who wouldn't know the rising star in the academy? one would say lady [first name] [last name] is also the rising star in the empire ever since your debutante ball." he stated, making you more flustered than ever. you humbly denied the empire one even if you're the duke's daughter, you wouldn't think that you're the rising star in the empire when there is the prince.

"welcome back, lady [first name]." your roommate greeted you as soon as you enter the dorm room. "you're late than usual. today is not the day you study at the library, right?" she added, you nod your head and explained that you were playing with pardo which is half of the truth and leave out the fact you met with chigiri hyoma for the first time formally.

you finish showering and put on your pyjamas, sitting on the side of your bed. kira, your roommate called out to you. "yes? do you need anything, kira?" you replied "why do you never request for your own room without any roommate? im sure the academy will give you the special treatment." kira rambled on how you could be getting the luxurious life in the academy but you're not using your authority right. "i would've done that, you knowwww..." kira sighed, burying her face into the pillow.

"all the students here is equal, kira. you're amazing yourself as you're a commoner that managed to get into the academy. even nobles that studies here may or may not get here into illegal meaning..." you explain, almost pissed off.

"im sorry for the sudden rambling just now. i was just thinking on how you're a noble and not disgusted by the fact me, your roommate is a commoner." kira express her apologies towards you, hugging her pillow tight while looking at you. you smiled and just simply accept it. you bid your goodnight and goes to sleep. kira does the same thing and goes to sleep.

now that you have finally become acquaintance with chigiri hyoma, whenever he passes by you would greet him and he will greet you back. cecilia nudged you and ask "since when did you two know each other? if i recalled you were still shy to even speak to that guy." she tease you with a grin but it soon turned into a neutral face when you look infront of you.

"your highness, good morning." you and cecilia greet the prince and bow. "[first name], do you have anyone in mind this year...?" the prince ask you with his neutral voice. you hate to admit it but you have known the prince since you two were children. one of you two is bound to like the other person. the prince like you ever since that time but you don't. this may be the final chapter, the prince will go up to you like this.

"with the utmost apologies, your highness... i already have my eyes set on someone." you stated while looking straight into the prince's eyes. he stiffen and wanted to open his mouth but couldn't. cecilia was stun by what you said and felt the awkward tension going on. you were lucky that there was no passerby and took cecilia hand walking away from the prince.

the prince clench his fist and grimace. if people knew about this it would spread like wildfire.

"uhhh... the prince wouldn't do anything to you, right..?" cecilia whisper when you two arrived at a place where there's a lot of student. "he wouldn't." you nonchalantly said.

"i gotta go. im sorry, cecilia." you run away from your spot and saw pardo — laying around doing nothing. you approach the cat and sit beside it, the cat notice you and sit on your lap.

how did it happened? how did you managed to bag the fastest student in the academy? either way, you're happy with the results — about you asking out chigiri hyoma for the last day of the blue lock, it spread like wildfire. it was the talk of the academy.

left and right, students will question on how and why you did it. how long? are you and chigiri a couple? their curiosity exceeded your expectations. they even went out their way to interview ana, cecilia and kira for the answer.

"[first name], are you excited for the first of blue lock event?" ana is ecstatic for the blue lock event that she even stated she didn't got a single sleep last night. "since when are you excited for this, ana?" you said while reading through your book. ana start to ramble about how she's only excited for the last day to see you and him dancing in the middle of the ballroom taking the spotlight off the prince.

"that's..."

"my lady, don't tell me you're not excited..." ana pout while crossing her arms. she will only call you my lady when she want a reaction out of you. cecilia snicker at ana acting mode.

"i am excited."

three days later...

"i cannot believe it. it's time!" ana hug you tightly, beaming about the fact that this day is the day for the last day of the blue lock event. the time for the students to relax and interact with other nobles. the time when even the emperor himself may make an appearance.

"did you already have a dress for the night?"

"i do. don't worry." you nod and put a hand on ana shoulder "you should worry about your cookies instead." the smell of burning flew into ana's sense of smell and she rush to get the cookies out while you just mind your own business looking at her being a mess.

you walk away from the scene, walking along the hallways of the palace that was made for the blue lock event only. you notice a red head lingering infront of your personal room. you fasten your step and he hear footsteps, he look towards the direction and see you. the moment he saw you, his lips raised and make a smile that's truly so beautiful to you.

"what's wrong, chigiri?"

"i just wanted to see you."

this is very bad for you health. definitely. you take his hand and enter your room. he jump at the sudden contact but didn't resist you. "then, let's just hang out in my room." you beam at him, and he just couldn't stop smiling in your presence.

night time...

"and here comes, the heir of [last name], [first name] [last name] with her partner, chigiri hyoma!"

the servant announced your arrival with chigiri hyoma. you mouth at chigiri hyoma 'be confident' and he nod. the nobles gasps that you finally have a partner for the event.

"the duke's daughter finally have a partner?"

"oh my, this is a surprise."

"isn't this an interesting moment?"

"this will shake the duke."

father, im sorry. i think i won't be single at the age of 25...

time passes in the ballroom. the only thing you did before the dancing was talking and laughing with chigiri. you didn't pay a mind to other surroundings when you are with him. some might say chigiri is lucky for having you at the tip of his fingers.

a melodious sounds started, and that means the dancing have started. people start getting with their partner and ask them for a dance.

he hold out a hand infront of you "shall we? my lady." his voice that's pleasant to the ears. you accept his offer and hold his hand "we shall."

"do you actually know how to dance, my lady?" he put a hand around your waist and start to sway left and right, getting accustomed to the melodies that's playing by instrument. "im a noble. of course i know." you slightly smirk.

"don't you think the music is getting faster now?" chigiri twirl you around and you gotta admit he really got the move to sway you over. the two of you move with the flow of the music as you felt yourself drifting to his world where you guys hearts connected as one. the melodious music of the piano and violin filled the air, giving the glamorous ballroom a romantic glow.

chigiri is the one leading this dance at this point and you follow only him to take you away, to save you, to lead you. to be the only one for you.

Also sidenote but thank you for sending two asks?? I'm answering this one first since the amoneki ask will take me. A while. But also I read this and immediately went "eto !!! eto holy shit it's her!!" so I must get the energy out (and hope it's coherent)

How I feel about this character:  Goddd Eto is so fucking Cool as a character. She has so many things I absolutely Love in one character. She's an absolute monster in terms of power, eldritch-like, she is a horror beyond anyone's comprehension and I love her so much for that. When she made her first (I think) big appearance in :re (Volume 5. The Kanae Scene) I loved her sooo much more I love her fucked up-ness, I love her Apple and God Thing and 'breaking down people's idols and becoming their god' because I Love religious symbolism. She's so ominous and formidable and she has such a fucking presence, it's amazing, yet at the same time we still see the same loneliness in her that's prevelant in the majority of Tokyo Ghoul, but maybe even moreso. Throughout the series it's shown how important parents and family are and how they've shaped the characters and give them drive (especially considering almost nobody has both parents. alive, and it effects everyone So Much it's a constant theme.) And obviously Eto couldn't really. Have that. At all. And it fucked her up definitely. The loneliness is overshadowed by. The Monstrosity (which makes sense of course, because that loneliness also brews Hatred for the world) but it also cuts through in things like her writing as Takatsuki Sen (which Kaneki obviously picks up on and relates to), the way it shines through when she's able to deconstruct others' desires and wills and suffering (after all, one must experience suffering themself to truly understand someone else's), and the slight respite with Aogiri (man. I wish to know more of her dynamics with the members/executives so bad) god I love her so much, she also has such a cool character design I'm in love with it, I can't wait to see her even more in :re.

All the people I ship romantically with this character:  Hmm since she hasn't made too many major appearances with individual characters so far none really yet? However I feel like I may grow very intrigued in etoken, two people that share loneliness, they're also a little fucked up I think they could be interesting together (I'm certain they're gonna interact more later also i've seen. the eyeball scene (on accident) and honestly yeah that's my kinda Weirdness))

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Again I want to see more of her appearances/interactions with others more first !! But I'd honestly be happy just to see her interact with the other Aogiri executives more, it's pretty entertaining and it's definitely my kinda thing

fic author Never Have I Ever brady/quinn?

oh gosh do i want to write a fic for them so bad. i am a bit intimidated just bc i have mutuals who are Hughes Bros Scholars and i am not a scholar, merely auditing the classes as it were, but like. they're besties! they had to do a stupid odd couple video for the draft! the way quinn looked at brady at his wedding gets me!!!!!!!! and while i have some concepts that i am v seriously batting around (ballet quinn you are IN THE QUEUE) i also have some where idk if i will ever get to it, and one of the latter is the one where brady gets divorced.

the thing is, no one ever gets married expecting to get divorced, and brady certainly did not get married expecting to get divorced. two years ago, he would've said they were happy and he wouldn't have been lying; a year ago, he would've said they were happy and it would've been - not the truth, exactly, but not a lie, either. they were happy, most of the time. happy enough.

and then they weren't happy. these things happen, apparently. you can try your hardest, give 110%, and it still won't be what the other person needs. what they thought life would be like and what you did aren't lining up, can't line up. hard to stay married after that.

they finalize the paperwork during brady's bye week. when he signs on the line, brady can't help feeling like he's fallen short, somehow.

the sens do okay. make the playoffs, which has happened more frequently than it hasn't in the past four years; lose in the first round, which is - also pretty typical. brady hangs out with his siblings for a few weeks, hits the golf courses with dad, tries to keep his mind off his season.

mom sometimes mentions his ex in passing, but only when she thinks brady can't hear her. brady tries not to be too upset about it.

midway through the summer, brady goes to michigan. he didn't go to the lake that much when he was younger - always spending time with his family, and then with his girlfriend, and then it was his wife, and well - there wasn't time. but this summer, he's at loose ends, and he accepts quinn's invitation gratefully.

the best thing about it is quinn is the only one who isn't treating brady like he's different, like something happened. which, yes, a lot of things happened, but that doesn't mean brady wants to think about it. brady wants to try out jetskiing, brady wants to beat quinn and then jack and then trevor at beer pong. brady wants to help quinn buy groceries and put on a party. brady wants to do circuits and watch quinn's t-shirt cling to his back. brady wants to sit on the dock and talk about nothing, the way they used to all the time as teenagers.

about a week in, brady realizes that he doesn't just want to sit on the dock with quinn. he wants to put his hand on the small of quinn's back. he wants to rub a knuckle along the nape of quinn's neck, to see if quinn will flinch, or shiver. he wants to - does, not on purpose, but he does - reach out and tug at quinn's hair. longer now. it falls in his eyes. he wants to kiss quinn, and one night, he does.

for a millisecond, quinn kisses back, and it's up there for one of the best things that's ever happened to brady.

then quinn pulls back, eyes flat and revealing nothing. when brady tries again, quinn puts a hand between their chests. when brady asks why - quinn liked it, quinn wants it, he kissed back - quinn stares at the splintery wood of the dock and says, you don't get to just - decide you want to kiss me because you're sad, or you - you don't get to. not when i -

Honestly, 50% of the time probably not. Mostly cause Gin seems like the type to get pissy if he doesn't get enough sleep oops. ummmm. not much today to say.

we saw our friend, he came over and we talked for a while, he was outside for about 10 minutes while i was still getting ready, feel bad about that. he didn't seem to mind, it's nice out side at least, lately.

uhmmm, what else.

we talked about a lot of stuff, he's moved out, and is working a lot, and he's generally rather happy i think, or being around friends makes him happy. so he was happy to be here. having him here makes me happy, and my gf too, we both really like him and she can relax around him. others, it's harder to relax around, it makes sense to me, since he's more relaxed than basically everyone else but not in a way that's like, vegetal, like, stoned or whatever. not to hate but sometimes people who just turn into a vegetable on the couch make me sad and stuff. not pity it's just like, i wish i could talk to you more type stuff.

he talked about some frustrations he's had with other friends of ours recently. which is sad, it's sad that there are frustrations, it's also sad that like, he's not just tripping or something. it's just simple quotidian stuff nobody is evil or bad it's just frustrating when some people are like, i'll do this, let's do this, i'll do x, and then don't and then when someone is like, well just be honest with me, to be like, fuck you, about that, it's normal i think, it seems very normal for things like this to happen, but it does bother me that it does, and him, and it's also been an issue w/ one of our other friends too, since we've known him he's always been soooo flaky and stuff. i dunno. the only answer, thinking of it now, for me at least, has been to become more patient.

i didn't do much else today, i was gonna write but it's 1 am now and i need to sleep now/soon cuz we have to go grocery shopping tomorrow. probably go to walmart, her mom seems to be in good enough shape to drive. i hope that goes well. i am thankful for that, since getting some more stuff w/o having to walk very far will really help us out.

just kept thinking about man hating today as well. unproductive but what can i do. i thought about how people can get hung up on stuff online that seems meaningless when compared to the issue which is how men see people who aren't men, the phallocentrism of things, the way you're nothing or like, in some cases, you will be dragged into that way of seeing and thinking no matter what. a kind of forced conversion into being someone who thinks less of others. i shouldn't be like that about men, or all of them, though in some cases, by some men, that is what being raised by them can feel like. i will make you someone who thinks it's okay to beat kids, like i beat you, you will be afraid of women and wish to possess them, and so on. subtle arts taught by fathers who don't know how to be kinder people.

or idk. that's just a lot of bad parents. women teach that too honestly, maybe less so the gendered stuff but they hit their kids as well, i've experienced it though significantly less so from my mother. i know my gf has had it that way though.

i don't know, idk what's going through my head right now, it's just a strange sadness. it's sad to think of people as being similar, especially realizing one is really only similar in some ways that describe a general unpleasant thing i've noticed among the men i've encountered, the very frustrating ones, who make me feel like this, my stepfather is kind of a centerpiece in that, but even then... i soften on him, feel bad for him, there is one guy who traumatized my friend, and my friend he's just like, so fucked up because of how unpleasant this guy was, self obsessed and weird, a lot of these people, they all kind of have stuff like that guy, but that guy is so different too, or, not different... it's maybe that for my friend, and in my experience of him, there's less to feel sorry for. some of it for me is this sense and wish that i could make them not awful, or, no sense, just wishing, really, not so much the i can fix him of people who are pathetic and sad, like daan from fear and hunger, for instance, just like, there is some way to help someone out of this kind of fear they seem to have, and out of the walls they have, right? with this other guy, it's like all wall, and what's behind it, i dunno, it's probably just that if i could see him, i'd have the pity, and the wish to try and be his friend to make the thing that sucks go away, or less, by being his friend. but that's insane of me, it's probably some kind of egotistical thing in me, that makes me think that by being around me, someone could be less like that. what's special about me? i'm just stupid, and sometimes people think i'm funny and i like being around people. it's just dumb.

anyhow, my friend was here, and i played fear and hunger 1 for him a bit, and got le'garde and got to ma'habre, with he and d'arce + moonless. now i need to lose moonless and get the girl... then... i d k,,, hum.... i just wanna get ending a.

Since I can’t share these magazines anywhere else I may as well share them here. These are super cool and extremely old Bessatsu Friend Magazines that have Yuki Suetsugu older works way before Chihayafuru. Including her very old short mangas, Only You, Eden no Hana etc. I’ve gotten a few I bought so I’ll share them by magazine. This will be the first one I post:

I didn’t know what chapters were in these till I actually got them but this Bessatsu Friend might be the best one cause it has one of my favorite scenes in all of Eden no Hana!

- I’m gonna break this up right here. THIS, I think this is when I knew I loved Tokio as a character. It’s the words of “I don’t look down on you.” (Well yea that’s obvious Dana) No, you don’t understand those words are personal to me. I want someone to say that to me, genuinely. And actually mean it like Tokio does here. Verbalize it and mean it.

“I just feel terribly hurt.

I didn’t have the confidence to keep smiling by your side, as if I didn’t know anything.

I’m so sorry… You didn’t want to run away from the pain, but I was the one who wanted to escape.”

I don’t know what kinda magic Sensei has I really don’t know but the way she writes the genuine honesty of her characters, especially her male characters- It’s so hard to explain without being misconstrued. IT’S A GOOD THING. She shows the clearest way of saying “we all feel pain” Tokio is so honest with Midori in this moment. I’m suffering cause your suffering. Me reading this like “you can feel that way? You can?” But I believe it! The way Sensei depicts this scene I BELIEVE IT! I believe how raw it is. And I know that PLENTY of other Shoujo and Josei manga have similar moments where it’s just like this. But there’s something about the word choices the expressions there’s just something! That I am not literate enough to put into words for you I’m sorry. But this scene GOT TO ME! :')

Same thing with Chihayafuru. It’s something she does! And no one can take this magic and put in a bottle. I wish but it can’t be done. It’s special.

Something else I also REALLY love about this magazine is even though it's kinda distracting the way the ink bleeds to the other side. I am sure it's the paper choice and I am also sure it's probably because it's older quality. But you know what? I find this really frekin cool! Don't laugh at me if other older shoujo magazines do this too this is my first experience owning one. lol

Also the color changes of the pages is neat. I don't know how they decide that or if it's just they ran out of a color ink and had to move onto the next one idk but this is cool!

It also contained this 2 pg color spread! I've seen this before but now I have the one from the original magazine of Tokio, Midori and Hashiba! I know, I know this is Sensei's older style but still ugh Tokio's hair here I am not a fan I'll be honest lol. He just doesn't look like Tokio! (Then again how many arts has Sensei done of Taichi where he looks nothing like Taichi and how many hair color changes too. It's a stylized choice I'll let this one slide lol.) Midori and Hashiba look great here though. (See Chalres, I am giving Hashiba compliments and insulting Tokio. Frame it if you see this cause it won't happen again. :P)

There's also another single color pg but I cannot show that one here. It's a combination actually of ch. 8 pg 14 and pg 17. But done a different way and in color. So there I gave you that and you can look for yourself if you're curious.

I think this is also the perfect time to get into my disclaimer of even though I really love the work of Eden no Hana the story is very dark and there's a lot of sensitive themes. This is my personal merch but I am by no means telling you guys to go read this. I think Ais and Vere could both be Slaughter, but for Ais i like the idea of him being Corruption more, and much more seriously than Leander tbh. Esp since he has the whole groupmind thing going on, and Ocudeus acting almost as a parasite, it honestly reminds me of Jane Prentiss and the whole "being consumed by what loves you" thing. Its all about unhealthy relationships i mean, everyone has a foil in touchstarved (leander and ais, vere and kuras, mihn and MC) so if leander WERE to be an avatar it'd be because he, like Jane, was spreading the word of True love and affection. Where as Ais would likely be more like Gerry. Undeniably a victim but also too badass to take that lying down and is getting shit done about it

Vere:

Hole in one on the Hunt thing. But I'd also like to put forward Avatar of The Dark bc every mention of vere being frightening coincides with mentions of darkness and shadows. Thats all i got for that one

But a more interesting a case Could be made for Buried. Remember, too close i cannot breathe can be about oppressive feelings and symbolic burial as well as any kind of breathing problems. When veres presence is described its an oppressive force hunting the MC and choking them out, mc references their breathing a lot in his presence, also vere kills MC in the demo by choking them and cracking their windpipe. No extra chase or hunting to be done there, but lots of wheezing.

Kuras:

I think Kuras is a Stranger because he is described as occasionally making unconvincing attempts at "eat" around other people and it made me realize that unlike the others his human form likely isnt "angler fish" close (vere), or probably came first (mihn, Leander), or anything like that. Its 100% fabricated by him. Hes that one interaction with Nikola "how can i sound anything? I'm plastic silly, i don't when have a voice! I had to borrow this one."

Sen:

I think youre absolutely correct in the Desolation assessment! What is the worst punishment for anyone whose lost everything and is ready for death? Its absolutely immortality

However i also would like to explore the Hunt for her, since her only other desire is revenge. The Hunt isnt about indiscriminately stalking and killing people, it's about an eldritch god feeding an obsession temporarily in exchange for supernatural serial killers. She has a need to hunt and kill right now, who better to prey on that weakness than the Entity of hunting and killing. The Hunt has never been about mindless killing, it's always been about patience and ruthlessness.

So it's upsetting that Max and the other people in charge of RBR (Christian, Helmut) have poor mental health I simply cannot muster a large amount of sympathy simply because they've perpetuated huge amounts of negative ideas/behaviours against certain drivers/teams without a single apology. The only people I feel for are the employees working their backsides off for a livelihood (I think many people in these teams are underpaid) and their children that are being bullied for a budget cap.

Hakuoki: The Tale of the Demon Arms of Horniness Part 3: STILL NO DEMON ARMS?!?!

I am back again to spread my bullshit. I had to take a break in the middle of my last post because I am (allegedly) a responsible adult and I had to spend ages packing up my worldly possessions so that I can finally move into the gothic church LAIR of my dreams next year.

First up: some reflection. I feel like a lot of Iba's actions are inspired by his love for Chizuru but I feel like we never get much indication of why he likes her so much. Unlike with the other routes, we don't get to see his love for her grow so much as we go through the story. He's just sooo into her from the beginning and I don't get why because she expresses, like, zero personality in his route (too harsh?)... Like, she won't try the sweet bean jelly, she doesn't want hair pins, she's reluctant to go for a walk with him. She's just so boring. And Iba has so much going for him that he's basically a Mary Sue. He just has a great life until the devs decide it's time for the torture to begin! And then Chizuru just follows him around being glum. At least, that's how I remember things going... I guess I'm just frustrated because Iba had a lot of potential but I feel like the two of them have absolutely no chemistry... Again, maybe I am being cruel to these wee anime sprites and my opinion will change as I continue this playthrough...
