Day 14 of Bad Sansuary (hosted by @owl-bones!): Tears

(A/N: I couldn’t think of anything I wanted to draw for today’s prompt, so I wrote something instead! It was a lot of fun :) That being said, please keep in mind I haven’t tried to write a fanfic since I was 15 (I really enjoy writing in general, but I tend to err on the side of nonfiction) and I didn’t have a whole lot of time to edit. Disclaimer aside, please enjoy!)

Dust hadn’t intended to overhear you. By all accounts, he shouldn’t have. He rarely walked by your room, having no reason to tread down a hall so distant from his own quarters — aside from heading to the kitchen and dining hall, where you always arrived before him, talking to Axe and eagerly waiting for the rest of the gang to arrive so you could dig into your serving. He couldn’t blame you, of course; Axe’s cooking was delectable. He’d worked hard to fix his relationship with food since being taken in by Nightmare, and his culinary skills had flourished, the result of his efforts brimming with flavor and healing intent. Though, he felt the dishes were always best when you helped to make them.

He was headed to dinner then, scrolling on his phone and letting out a lighthearted huff of air at the boundless fruits of the internet, when he first heard you. He caught a muffled group of sniffles and barely audible cries originating from beyond your door, and instinctively paused five paces away, listening further and holding his breath so he wouldn’t alert you to his presence. In his stillness, your quiet sobs became clearer and remained undeterred.

He didn’t know what to do then, frozen in his place and stuck listening. He was never any good at handling emotional situations, especially like this one, where he knew his job was to approach and soothe. The other residents of the castle were far better suited for work like this; even Killer, who was more than a bit selfish, seemed to be able to consistently cheer a downtrodden friend. Half of the times he recalled trying to comfort someone, the person ended up more distressed than when he first arrived. Perhaps it was for this reason, among a bounty of others, he avoided the role of counselor.

He quietly started back forward.

He’d never heard you cry before, and something about the sound made him ache. He wanted to fix it. You weren’t as close to him as you were to the others, though, he reasoned, so it made more sense to call upon one of them to help you. He continued to listen to your sniffling as he made it past your door. You might be embarrassed to know he heard you, after all — he should leave you be. The door now four paces behind him, he could still just hear your deadened weeping. He wondered what you were crying about.

Groaning at his stubborn soul and lack of conviction, he doubled back and gave a courtesy knock at your door. Your crying didn’t stop.

“it’s dust. i’m coming in.” He shortcutted just beyond the entryway to your space, prepared to ignore a protest, a welcome, or any words from you that never came.

The lights were off and the lone window by the head of your bed had curtains drawn over it, enveloping the room in a thick cocoon of darkness. Your bed was a mess, sheets barely hanging onto the mattress and mostly crumpled, depressed, on the floor. The dirty laundry and other clothes strewn about the carpet was accompanied by a large amount of trash — mostly empty food wrappers — and foul-smelling air. Subconsciously, his nose scrunched. By the standards of his own room the mess wouldn’t have been bad, lacking a trash tornado and all, but he was pretty sure your floor was usually more visible than it was.

He noticed you curled into a small ball in the far left corner of the chamber, face in knees and arms wrapped tightly around legs in a poor parody of a hug. You hadn’t even bothered to look up when he came in, or to stop quietly crying — you just closed into yourself more tightly. After some hesitance, he said your name. Yet again, there was no indication you’d even heard him.

He sighed. Awkwardly avoiding trash and clothes, he crossed the room to your darkened crevice, and slumped quietly against the wall to your right. Another short bout of teary silence ensued.

“...so…” he rubbed the back of his cervical vertebrae. “your room doesn’t look too good.” Your eyes didn’t come to meet his with a watery glare like he’d hoped. Instead, you remained still, almost statuesque if it weren’t for your bouncing shoulders.

Fuck. He held back another sigh and stared down at his slippers, playing with his gloved phalanges. He could never think of the right thing to say, and you’d never know how bad he felt if he were to make your situation worse. Frustrated with his own ineptness and the tension in the air, he wracked his brain for another set of words to spew — a collection that might actually help.

In the end, he decided to take a gamble. Grunting quietly, he mustered his nerve.

“...what's wrong?” Cringing internally at the fear he’d taken a poor risk, he focused his sights back on you. He wrung his hands as he stared. There was silence for what felt like several minutes, long enough he was tempted to physically smack himself for prying and begin wracking his brain for something else to say.

“I-” your voice cracked as you tried to answer him, your vocal chords swollen from your weeping. He snapped to attention, thoughts quieting as something finally changed. “I — just —” your upset turned from hoarse whispers to broken words as you unwrapped your arms from your knees and encircled them forcefully around his middle. He was stilled at the embrace as you squeezed his ribs and cried into his jacket, still trying to babble out an answer to his stupid question. Slowly, uncertainly, he wrapped his own arms around your midsection, firmly holding you to his chest.

“it’s okay, you don’t have to tell me.” Your failed words warped into loud sobs as you stopped trying to vocalize what had happened. It was all too much — too painful — that he understood. He rubbed your back slowly, gently, softly saying your name. “it’s okay,” he whispered, “everything’s gonna be okay. i’m right here.” He regurgitated the sentiments he’d heard the others use when comforting children and victims as you let it out, pawing circles on your back, though he wished he had something of his own to offer. He was sure he’d come up with the perfect words later in bed that night when it was far too late, but that was neither here nor there — whatever you needed, he would give, even if it wasn’t his.

His soft words persisted with a soothing rumble in his chest until, slowly, your downpour turned back to a drizzle and then to less than a drop, your exhausted form slumping against him as your fists stopped clinging to his jacket quite so tightly. He didn’t know for how long you’d been crying before he’d arrived, but seeing your fatigued state made him think it was quite a while.

Gradually, a small time after you’d gone quiet, you tilted your head up to his, gaze still downwards and refusing to make eye contact. Your eyes were gleaming and puffy, your face wet, and your cheeks and ears warm — even like this, he thought, you were striking.

“...Thank you,” you whispered. Dust brought his hand up to the top of your head and trailed it lightly down to the shell of your ear.

“...anytime.”

there’s so many things i love about your fic but one thing i specifically love that doesn’t have much to do with your fic is probably the community. like every person that comes into your asks, including the funny anons, feels like family idk STOP I SOUND SO CORNY BUT YOU GET WHAT I MEANNNN. like 1l-ynn’s (i think that’s her username) hatred for anyone that comes in between megumi and y/n is so funny, THE MALAKAI SHIPPING PHASE, THE RANDOM ANON THAT STARTED RAPPING IN UR ASKS, stanheightis stressing out every now and then about the angst is so real, kickingcat’s beautiful artwork as well as azr3na’s, mercupinesspring’s tiktok page dedicated to liar,liar which i stalk with my private account haha. i’m trying to think of the others but yeah, like the community is so beautiful and i think i’m gonna miss that more than anything when the fic eventually ends 🥲

the malakai hate was so incredibly funny to me bc he was never gonna be a second love interest. like, ever 💀 that’d make this megumi/reader story just be crack upon crack, and ik i prioritise comedy over romance in this romcom, but there’s a limit, yk 😭 and it was just funny to be given a taster of how certain ppl feel about a second love interest being introduced at all before i’d even introduced the real one, might i add

with that, watching ppl stress about the angst tag before it had even arrived (it’s still not here, curtesy of my hiatus 😇) was also the funniest thing ever. i’d wake up every morning with a new ask in my inbox stressing about NOTHING. like a singular person even held enough stress for the entire community, and then some 😭

the artwork i’ve received over the last few months have been collected into a google doc that’s how obsessed with them i am, ready to be printed out bc i genuinely meant it when i said i’d do just that for my room 😋 we made it to a point where we can appoint ppl as LL’s co-illustrators, which 16 year old me, who was drafting the first chapter a year and a bit ago, wouldn’t have even predicted such a thing and i’m so grateful bc wdym they were able to make malakai look good? ☹️🩵

sooo i sm kind of having something i‘ve labelled christmas depression and wanted to ask if you maybe could write some headcanons?

wanda has a big family and every christmas they have these big gatherings you always see in movies. since reader is her partner she wants them to tag along. reader is a little reluctant to go, because their family never had these big gatherings, because everyone kind of hated each other. christmas was never something special for them, just a random day like any other, just with sone presents. wanda is determined to get them to like christmas.

reader had always yearned for these dreamy family gatherings at christmas, so their just anxious that they’ll fuck something up or something.

cause this is what happens in my family, and i am fucking YEARNING for one of those big gatherings from christmas movies. just ONCE IN MY LIFE PLS. it’s kinda pathetic but because i don’t have that, i hate christmas movies cause they make me get emotional idk

She makes you wear a matching sweater with her, yours is dark green and hers is dark red, and she puts peppermint mocha in your coffee with whipped cream on top

Wanda makes sure to include many presents for you, both for your own private celebration, and presents for you to open with her family.

She also ensured that her family members (who you've met many times before, and they absolutely adore you) get you presents

You were very nervous about buying presents for them, not wanting to pick the wrong type of gift, and Wanda helps you, assuring you that her family will love anything you get them

Wanda and you spend the day before the family get together watching Christmas movies and making cookies and sweets to bring over

She holds your hand the entire car ride over, singing along to the Christmas songs on the radio as you begin to relax, your matching red and green nail polish shining

Her family is as wonderful as ever, and you gratefully accept some peppermint schnapps in your hot chocolate as Wanda's mother winks at you and pours some in her own mug

Wanda prefers mimosa's, and her family does a huge toast before lunch to thank everyone for celebrating with them

The meals are delicious, candles lit everywhere and faint Christmas music playing the entire day, and the laughter and conversation never stops

You get overwhelmed a few times, your heart swelling with happiness and a slight longing and sadness that you'd never gotten to experience this before, and Wanda's father hugs you and tells you that you're already part of the family, of course you're going to be welcomed to every celebration

Of course, you cry after that, happy tears of course. Wanda hugs you right after her father lets go, and her mother comes up to rub your back gently (I fear I may also have family issues oopsie)

You can't believe the amount of presents you receive, and you blush at the gratitude her family displays when they open your gifts to them

The day ends with the little ones all put to bed, and the cookies and milk to Santa and carrots for his reindeer all set up by the fireplace. You and Pietro giggle as you take careful bites from the cookies and carrots, and he swallows half the milk before grinning at you with a milk mustache

You sleep over that night in Wanda's childhood bedroom, after watching a Christmas movie with the rest of the adults who were still awake, your heart full as you thank her over and over again

Wanda assures you that you're family, and you'll always have a place in their home for Christmas ♡

I used to love scrolling through the Dottore x Reader tag on Tumblr until I stumbled upon your account and ended up binge-reading all of your posts. Honestly, it’s my favourite portrayal of Dottore, and your writing is just so immaculate??? The emotions and details are perfect, and it’s always such a joy to read and visualize everything in my head. If I had to describe it with a physical feeling, your writing feels warm, fun, freeing, and safe—like lying in a field of grass under a night sky, with warm winds brushing against my skin. ＼(^-^)／

I love your versions of the segments, too! They all feel so unique, and there’s such variety in your portrayal of them. I love how each segment gets its share of love. The interactions between the reader, Prime, and the segments never feel awkward—everything feels balanced and fair. The way you give each segment so much personality while ensuring none of them overshadow the others is just incredible?? what are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

i tend to use japanese honorifics in my own writing or chinese family terms like jiejie, only cause i’m familiar with those 😭 i think it’s a cool detail in fics! though i do appreciate translations in the a/n if possible so the exact intention comes across bc google translate is unreliable lol

Always! I enjoy the engagement, back and forth dialogue it sometimes sparks, and the little community in the comment section. Comments are never expected, but make me so incredibly happy, so I try to carve out time to answer each one 💕

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I always like to write a tidy and relatively ‘good’ ending, but I have a lot of unfinished WIPs T.T so no one would know that I guess

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

My FuseHound story A Familiar Face will have a very happy and upbeat ending — but I need to finish it first ^^’

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I’ve been pretty lucky on that front. I have only ever gotten one hateful comment — it said I am an awful person must have endured some horrific abuse as a child to write rough sex / predator/prey and CNC between consenting adult characters. I just deleted and moved on.

9. Do you write smut?

It’s my favorite to read and write!

I personally don’t write crossovers but love to read AUs!

Ohhh FuseHound from Apex legends still holds a special place in my heart, along with SoapGhost and Soap x Ghost x König

15. What's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

The first fic I ever started posting — Fated. 300k and not finished. It was a labor of love and definitely helped me relearn how to write.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Sensory details (sight/smell/sound/tactile) as well as descriptions of food.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Dialogue, especially during smut. T.T it takes me multiple tries and edits to get it right, and even then I'm not always 100% happy with the result

18. Thoughts on dialogue in another language?

I adore it, when not used excessively. It works well for a story like Trapper, Keeper, imo because König is okay with the reader not knowing what he’s saying. And if the character sprinkles their language through their dialogue in canon (like Bloodhound using Icelandic words/phrases) it keeps the characterization on point.

But also as an American with a plain Midwest/mildly Chicagoan accent, I just think other languages and accents are incredibly hot! I’ve learned from some natives I’ve talked to (especially regarding German) that they tend to find like, pillow talk in their own language incredibly cringy and hard to read or listen to 😭 so I do try to limit it to certain contexts in my own work.

Metalocalypse when I was like 13. Thank goodness I never posted that anywhere and just scribbled it in a notebook. It was like, Tina Belcher from Bob’s Burgers level of goofy “erotic friend fiction” where I thought I was so raunchy even though everything was fade to black.

Do you know about the Marchil h-doujin, just called "Marchil Meshi"? (Dunno wether you're comfortable about adult content regarding the ship. If not, sorry and feel free to ignore).

Imagine my surprise… When a few months ago, I was looking up places to buy doujins for dunmeshi online bc of that new-ish laimar (sfw) doujin and I find, many many nsfw ones bUT AMONGST THE HORDE… MARCHIL MESHI. I ate it up. It’s a lil iconic to me ngl, I quote it in my head sometimes. Marcille angrily gesturing always gets me cackling. It honestly has no business being this good, it was made pretty early on in the story so many years ago, and STILL! So in character, and honestly so funny, AND no weird business either. Like listen, I scour the internet, looking for any marchil content, any marchil content at all… And find a dry af desert, no life here, literally jackshit nothing. Only Pixiv has some afaik but the nsfw is def… Hm. 😔 (2 fics tagged chirumaru on there btw!! That aren’t mine lol) Thank you marchil meshi author if I had to pick 1 piece of marchil nsfw to exist I’d choose this one (honestly that’s already so close to reality lol) Thank u Asaki Takayuki I owe u my life. I like zines but I’ve never bought doujins before so it didn’t cross my mind, but dunmeshi is taking a lot of my first times in fandom engagement and I bought said laimar doujin just the other day hehe 

I do want to keep my blog generally sfw but yes I’m 100% cheering on nsfw marchil content from the shadows, glad that ao3’s finally getting some too. I hope that fic writer makes more… Tallman Chil is so so good but I hope they also do some more general premises, which the end notes on that one do make me hopeful 👀 I want more marchil writers in general. More marchil fanartists. Sfw nsfw idk I need to be fed 😭 (<- This post was drafted before that new marchil smut fic WOOHOO. So much new marchil content this week!!)

Oh while I’m here, I find this so funny/odd, but in japanese fandom ship names are simply the beginning of each name smushed together, like marchil or chilmar. The order of the names is that the first one is the "top"… Idk how jp fandoms live without switches but aight, but in m/f ships this means that typically the man is the first half of the ship name right. WELL WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT marchil is so much more used than chilmar lmaoo. Even more stats: On Pixiv, the tag marchil had all the artworks, but the chilmar tag had all the fics. Ain’t that wack to think about. Anyways marchil or chilmar idc you go guys

Alright hc time what was I gonna talk about… Ah yes ah yes. I def think Chil is a pest, he’s horny and he wants sex and is flagrant about it, but also we know that he stayed faithful for 4 years without getting any, I feel like realistically the relationship sex wise would 100% be on Marcille’s pace. And this is the fun part, bc would Marcille be very eager? Would she want to do the romance book correct™️ route and that means no tapping until marriage, or he needs to court her all princely first? I hc that elves have a much lower libido than humans because of the whole long af lifespan thing, it’d be kinda funny if Marcille was like "Let’s take things slow… 🥺" aka first base achieved after two years of being together lol

But seee that’s the thing too bc Marcille is so afraid of loss she might rush through things as well, she very well could like, jump on him right after confessing. Is Chilchuck kind of a shithead or is he very gentlemanly and romantic, wanting to do it right and treat her well? They are such a blank canvas of sexual chemistry listen LISTENNN there are just so so many ways you can go with them they are so special. God the banter… They cannot stop bantering for a second I swear So many kinks they could fit… I like uhh praise kink for him and for her… Idk she just really loves him and the emotional adoration is what’s at the core of her enjoying it all so like, loving Chilchuck kink, which turns out those two really match together 🫶 He makes her sing and ummm um you see where this goes. OH MY tacky i really really appreciate u sending this my way but do u know how much of a challenge this was 😭 i could give you my most hated soooo much easier!!! but after literally a week of deliberation (so sorry!!!) here is my answer!! i think "favourite" and "proudest of" are two different categories for me – i went with "favourite" here bc i think a proper answer for "proudest of" would need at least 3 hours and input from a licensed therapist

Still the pine-woods scent the moon – 15.5k, E, remus/harry

this was sooo different to anything i’d done before – both in terms of pairing (remus/harry), style (2nd person, slightly higher register) and attitude (really tried to be chill about the process instead of hating every second lmao). there are still many things i think could have been done much better, but i think this is the closest i’ve come to liking one of my fics 😖

The Taste of Țuică – 15k, E, ron/harry/draco

this was actually another attempt to make myself enjoy writing – i remembered that when i was younger, i found 1st person easiest to write, so i figured i’d give that a go and see what happened. i was also trying to get better at actually describing locations (a goal i think i immediately abandoned after this fic lmao whoops) so i spent a lot of time coming up with the stupid Rich Person details of draco’s bedroom – it was a fun challenge to try to improve one of my weaker areas!!

For Lack of Wanting – 8.5k, E, drarry

i’d had the image of draco acting like his old self and harry being into it in my head for ages, but i never really imagined it to turn out as angsty as this ended up being – but it was fun to try to capture a different mood than i usually go for! was still really trying to not be so grumpy about writing with this one – there’s a loooot of stuff in this that’s pretty clumsy, but i decided not to care on purpose bc i wanted to focus on the sexy sadness of it all instead 😅

Fresh Eyes – 250, M, drarry

idk man i’m usually such a fucking rambler (last month i posted a stupid PWP that takes place in a single morning and it was a whole 17k words) that i’m lowkey pleased i managed to do anything coherent with 250 words. also i love doing the thing where something is different on a second read.

i don’t have any i’m a happily ever after or bust kinda guy in my own head if nowhere else…… angstiest is probably the sound of love astounds me if only because it ends post-feelings realisation but still pre-relationship

repetitions omg I always use the same metaphors 24/7 lmao, this and my ginormous sentences (shoutout to my beta @lilacfiresoul who has to catch all of them). also, remembering the setting of the scene, like did the character already take off this piece of clothing, how are they standing/sitting/what’s their surroundings etc.

what are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I think it’s sooo wholesome, sometimes I try to understand it based on other languages I know haha, and I have done it a few times by using French

what’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?

I have been dyingggg to write some jayvik and melvika. maybe even vanco. like so bad. basically 70% of what I’ve been consuming all winter has been arcane fics lmao and I’ve gotten familiar with these ships (esp jayvik) to the point where I feel like I could probably write them without struggling too much.

what’s your favorite fic you’ve written?

honestlyyyy either one of my sirry fics? maybe this one more than the other, probs bc it’s more recent. idk why but they invoke sm stuff in me and I feel like my prose is best when I write them, both times I wrote them in one go and it just…flowed out of me like word vomit, which is a pretty nice feeling when writing xD

YEAHHHHHH BABYYYYYY okay i can’t give you any excerpts bc i feel like i’ve already posted so many and also every line is a spoiler at this point 😭😭 but i would LOVE to talk about it so here we go!!!!

it might end up being my longest posted fic but i’m not sure yet; we’re teetering on the edge of 4k (3,853 words currently) with multiple scenes (…/flashbacks Smirk Emoji) left to write. but also take that number with a grain of salt bc i do this insane thing when writing where if i think of an alternate phrasing for something i just. put it right next to the original. or if i need to rework a paragraph i’ll copy and paste it and rework it directly below the original so i can compare them side by side. my current longest posted fic is lose your faith in me with 4.3k so maybe it’ll be longer than that !! :3

this fic drives me INSANEEEEEEEEEEE every time i read it. truly am NEVERRRR going to shut up about it once it’s posted. idk when that will be but it WILL happen eventually I SWEAR. u know how i go fucking insane every time i read that line from when memories snow “let me take you home on my lunch break. please.” yeah i have that reaction to at least one line every paragraph. bitch it’s INSANE.

genuinely i have never edited a fic as much as i’ve edited this one. i think this fic is… two years in the making as of 2025? probably technically 1 1/2 or something but i don’t remember when i started it so🧚

i feel like the tags don’t necessarily give an indication of the plot but idk how much of the plot i wanna give away 👀 i might’ve talked about it before but i’m not sure??

not important but the jakes inclusion in this fic is very much why is hoseok da bus driver all of da sudden sorry jakes stans (me and maybe 2 other people on planet earth. shoutout to those 2 other crazy bitches tho‼️‼️)

this fic is entirely about mike’s trauma and i’ve actually been struggling to balance how much of paul’s trauma to include (considering it’s so similar and mikebriggs cycles narrative foils etc etc you understand). there are lines that Hint at the backstories and the effects of canon events on other characters, but it all varies based on mike’s heavily limited perspective and what i think he realistically wouldn’t or wouldn’t be privy to. a good example of this is this moment from somewhere in the haze:

the context, of course, is charlie seeing mike and thinking of finding whistler dead on the bathroom floor. i thought that this was something briggs knew about and mike didn’t, not sure if that’s actually true in canon but even if not, briggs having been there with charlie when it happened would be able to immediately make that connection and know where charlie’s mind had gone.

of course, the hints in something’s in your eyes are certainly not as heavy-handed, where it is directly pointed out that there is something mike is “on the outskirts of”—the fic is quite literally about secrets. it is also not so easily resolved as this particular example is, where charlie tells mike in the last scene the context for her reaction. many things are instead left unsaid because. y’know. secrets. >:)

the particular example of this i’m thinking of in siye is actually about jakes. goddd there’s this one jakesbriggs moment where…no……i shan’t say. it’s literally the only jb moment in the entire fic and it’s like five words total probably but bitchhhhh u gotta pick up what im putting down!!! the Context… coconut tree etc etc… u gotta Think it’s a Thinker. thinkerbell? i’m tired

i use the tiny moments of info that mike is or isn’t privy to in order to show the closeness of the polycule and show how open other characters (cough cough johnny and charlie cough cough!!!) are in comparison to mike’s repressed ass. lowkey one of those things i didn’t even realize i did until i read it back and was like WTF!!!! I DID THAT

every time i write for this fic i feel like the fucking horse post!!!!! this one!!!!!! EVERY TIME!!!!!!

saw your recent reblog about feedback and, though I’ve been occasionally gushing in tags, you deserve to hear what I tell my friends! In general, your writing style is perfect at capturing the timing and delivery of the show itself. I’ve never read a fic i’ve been able to visualize more clearly than this one. You write each character so well that between chapters it feels like i’m right back where i used to be, waiting for new episodes again. I do think you haven’t *quite* solved your side-character-ification (applejackification?) of Dipper problem yet, but other than that you’re doing an astounding job at balancing all the characters and their interactions with each other and with bill in a way that feels natural (plus with these more recent chapters i’m seeing lots of good dipper stuff so you’re definitely getting there with him too! besides, it is nice to see Mabel get the spotlight after all these years anyway. healing, even.) You know exactly how to control an audience’s emotions, you know when to drag something out and when to shut it down, you know when to cut off a conversation and when bring up the fact it was cut off later. Little foreshadowings like the loose tooth are well-planted and plot beats like lucid dreaming are dropped and picked back up delicately and with precision, like pressing piano keys. i don’t doubt for a second it’s all a part of some grand instrument, though i wouldn’t be surprised if you told me most of it was improvised - another way you’re just like the show was. you’ve done the episodic-and-serialized thing better than at least half of all silver-age cartoons that have attempted to do so! I adore the way you show kindness to all characters in your scenes, from gideon’s characterless mother to the little freak himself. It truly feels as though you pick no favorites, and that’s something you do better than the show did tbh. Not that TBOB needed to hook me in with a marketing campaign, but hypothetically, in a universe where I didn’t own a hand-sewn bill cipher throw-pillow and yet somehow still found this fic, I would definitely be excited for it after reading! you’re gifted, and i hope this does numbers on AO3. I truly cannot stand hazbin hotel, but I may go back and read your other works once this one’s over, just to hear your narrative voice. it’s a voice worth hearing, and may it be forever amplified.

APPLEJACKIFICATION... that made me laugh. Dipper will get some serious development before the end of the eclipse plot and he's key in the next plot, so I think that'll help him make some progress. But yeah—he's not gonna be as important as Mabel, but I do want to make sure he has a plot that stands on its own, smaller though it may be.

It's 2/3 planned, 1/3 improvised. 😁 I've got a lead time of about 15 chapters between what I've posted and what I've written, so I can do stuff like write the poppet chapter, write the tooth fairy arc, edit the poppet chapter, realize that as long as I'm giving him a bloody lip maybe I can loosen his tooth, edit the tooth fairy arc, have him mention that that tooth was loose. And many chapters I haven't written or outlined yet I have loosely planned in my head so I know how to aim toward them.

Wanting to show kindness to all the characters and wanting to give as many of them an internal life as possible is so important to me, and I'm so glad that's showing through so far!

And honestly I think "I hate [xyz] but I'll read it if you're writing it" is the highest compliment. 😂 All my hazbin fics were written pre-season 1 when all we had was the pilot, a couple comics, creator comments, and some Helluva to go by; but idk maybe you'd consider that a plus lol. (If you're interested, on ao3 I've also written Transformers, Godzilla, some Pokémon, and a smattering of other things.)

Last Movie Watched: Renaissance a Film by Beyoncé! But also I watched 3 movies in 1 day and they were all good. Killers of the Flower Moon devastating and rage inducing! But such a good movie. Cinnamon, a tubi original but the romance and violent crime drama was top tier not gonna hold you!

Favorite Old Fandom You Wish Would Drag You Back In/Have A Resurgence: Bonnie Bennett, I was so late but the content was still flowing! Haven’t checked her tag in a minute! Bamon/Klonnie were my faves. And Spideychelle I miss them because there’s some good fucking writers in that fandom but idk I fell off for some reason.

What the fuck.?? Do people just not read tags before they read a book or what? I genuinely thought it was crystal clear that it was a love triangle 💀 and someone saying that you are “punishing” a part of your readers is actually WILDDD

I can understand if I wasn’t tagging it, maybe. But it’s all there in the tags and I’ve talked extensively here and TikTok and twitter about this fic and how it’s gonna go. I can’t remember how many times I’ve had to say “shaemond is endgame” and “the ending is bittersweet but still shaemond!”

I know people want a pure aemond fic and that’s fine, but that has never been this fic! And even since 2023, people have blamed me for writing my fic the way I’ve planned it😭 like some of my most vehement supporters are the ones who have been here since chapter 1!! They’ve seen this fic at its inception when it was just an edit I posted on tik tok to gauge whether or not people would be interested in reading what I had written! Idk. I think people became very very entitled in this fandom and when the top two other fics (this isn’t saying anything against them btw!! Just fandom expectations about aemond fics) about aemond are more aemond centric with aemond teaming up with the fmc, now I have to deal with people expecting the same from my fic, and it’s so disheartening and so tiring.

Plus, Idk, I’d never “punish” my readers ever. That’s so weird to assume and just plain fucking rude

almost IMMEDIATELY haha. as soon as i post/update i be refreshing that inbox :')

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

as of right now, it's got to be One Day Closer To Death. the ending is still canon compliant w.r.t ten’s arc in the show, i just wanted to give him a little closure. but it made me saddddd.

probably this little microfic? it’s just a fluffy slice of life thing about mia’s first play.

nah. i’ve got maybe one or two slightly odd comments but not outright hate

i have tried it a handful of times and i think there’s loads of scope for improvement so i’ve got to keep practicing. as for the kind, erm, f/m i guess?

i only have one m/m ship at the moment and i don't usually think of them in smutty ways (it's the angst that draws me in lol) but never say never, i think.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

no, and i don't know if i ever would...i love playing in the sandbox of AUs but a full blown crossover doesn't appeal to me at the moment

co-writing one right now with @thirdeyeblue for the tentoo gift exchange! also working on a jily one with @joyseuphoria but we've yet to make proper progress xD

i'd have to say doctor x rose. i've had a lot of ships and usually i move through them super quick so the fact that i've stuck on for 3ish years is a big deal!!

i AM going to finish my WIPs. manifesting

16. What are your writing strengths?

i think dialogue, mostly. i think (hope) it’s usually in character and it flows quite decently. i watch a lotttt of movies so it comes to me more easily than other parts of writing

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

i feel like a lot of my descriptiveness is lacking? like it just comes across as filler, or it’s too expository. i also can’t write actions 🫠

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

i am fluent(ish) in a few languages other than english but they almost never come up in fic lol. but if i had to include a foreign language, i’d either write it from the pov of the character who doesn’t know the language (and gets it translated from a third party) or i’d have to consult someone who could help me out with the language

19. First fandom you wrote for?

when i was 12 i wrote a chris hemsworth x reader fic on wattpad 😭 the first proper “fandom” was probably x-men. i hand wrote a bunch of logan lives (logan-2017) fics in my diary lmfao
