I wanted to try celebrating it since I really haven't in years and my family forgets. So I thought...maybe this year I'd try to do something. But I'm not really sure what to do?

notes/remarks about jax in episode 4 (it’s a Little Bit long)

-its kinda believed that his only moment of trying to be a tiny bit better to interact with in the episode is when he asks pomni how she is after everything but i feel like even the beginning of the ep suggests him doing this . this has been stated 6000 times but he was making an attempt to participate in something with teaching gangle how to play baseball, and when ragatha got pissed at him for breaking her comedy mask he went “why are you always making me out to be a bad guy???im not a bad guy” and then when he follows gangle into zoobles room he just seems relaxed and docile, he keeps smiling throughout the entire interaction even when the focus isn’t on him, and he only ever looks annoyed when caine barges in . not necessarily jax-related but i noticed that was what happened in ep3 too! everyone just hanging out together and actually bonding on purpose and it being interrupted by caine taking them on an adventure. it’s interesting to me idk

-he’s put off by the direction of the adventure right off the bat. after pomni raises her hand and asks caine for a less intense adventure he’s frowning at her because in his mind she just ruined what sounded like a really fun violent thrilling adventure - especially after the way hes been kind of disappointed after the past two ones . despite this he is back to smiling and joking again by the time the suggestion box is brought up

-the part where zooble replies with “good” after he mockingly says that their submission was genuinely hurtful is special at least to me cuz it’s one of the only moments where instead of flat out ignoring it or getting angry at it, jax actually recognises and engages with someone expressing their distaste for him. and also onto a more possibly nothingburger thing that drives me crazy regardless that got pointed out to me through a youtube comment

this. this cycle of expressions here? if you squint really hard you can see the moment his feeling are hurt with your own two eyes!!!! at first i thought the comment was just about him looking down at gangle, but it’s actually the thing immediately before that where his smile drops slightly and he looks down, and then back at zooble for a split second. extremely small thing that might not even be real that i probably wouldn’t have noticed for ages if ever but regardless. Drives me up the wall. also this maybe possibly puts the “genuinely hurtful” line in a different light. i personally think that was actually just him joking and not really thinking about it though

-his “im really doing this” look. also the fact that he even went into it willingly gives me some questions like. does he actually just never skip on adventures ever no matter what they are just because he would So strongly rather not be left alone. did he see what happened to zooble and just assume the same would happen to him if he tried to get out of it

-it’s cute to me how fast he was to try and derail the adventure like he was probably calculating and remembering everything he knows about kitchen hazards/accidents and stuff. imagine all the fun he could’ve had with that if he was left uninterrupted

-it hurts

-he probably would’ve said “what are you gonna do about it though” as a response to anyone here but also this was definitely more initially enticing to him because typically he sees gangle as the one member who’s the most defenseless against him and will mostly take whatever he does. now him saying this was either him being like lol imagine YOU actually doing something to stop me; or a genuinely curious invitation as to what she was actually going to do after saying that. but either way whatever it was gets almost completely shattered after he hears caine agree to put a punishment in place, followed by gangle giving jax his first orders of the day. i deeply enjoy how genuinely unnerved he looks here. like i can imagine hes probably never been in a situation quite like this since he entered the circus -which kinda connects into another thing with jax in this episode that i think about a lot that’s just . was this entire episode how he felt in his real life before the circus. it’s pretty much a given that he could not and did not act at least exactly the way he does now in the circus in his old life, especially considered how he was still like sorta fresh into adulthood before getting trapped. this ties very very very deeply into my personal ‘jax cannot function in the real world is prone to becoming depressed and aggravated when he’s tested to even the smallest conditions against him’ belief. before this the only real support for this was how moody he got in ep 2 but the way he reacts to his circumstances in this one just. absolutely takes the cake im so fucking grateful

-“we wait until after hours for that” and then he immediately looks up at the clock to see how much time he has to wait until he can freely talk about how hates this one guy. Pointless animal

-i like how deadpan and honest he is in the scene leading up to the reevaluation where he’s talking with gangle. like he’s not in the mood for playing with the others but he’s not completely exhausted and flustered yet either he’s just. normal. neutral. extremely rare and specific angle of him we probably won’t ever see again. it’s like a complicated and intricate dish of food that you have to like wait until a certain time of year to be able to prepare. the “i like you better when you’re sad” is at least in my mind and my perception of him, the one single time in the show where jax’s behaviour is sincerely meant to be mean and malicious. there’s no jovial tone to it it’s not meant to be funny even to him, he just says it so flatly and with such purpose that it’s so obviously true, almost to the point where it feels like he didn’t even mean to say it but he sure did. this moment could also demonstrate the barely-theory of jax acting worse and more cutthroat the more bored/upset/angry he feels himself. extremely good moment of him Just being an Asshole with no fun side to it whatsoever . there should be more of those i think and there probably will be

-nothing to say about the reevaluation itself except that the flashing makes it pretty hard to see but you if you like zoom in / look closely you can tell that he’s quivering and his ears and eyebrows slowly lower. it’s way way clearer to see if you find the behind the scenes video for it and look there cause it doesn’t have the flashing. Personally i lost my shit when i first realised this and also i lowkey think this scene may have been my awakening for him being my favourite it just took about 3 weeks to take root

-the part where he gets out and sees the clock hasn’t moved at all is the first time in the show jax has actually raised his voice like Ever. hes never once reached the point of yelling at someone out of frustration before this

-i actually think he was super affected by ragatha saying she hates him while on the stupid sauce. both this and the moment with zooble earlier on in the episode supports the idea that he doesn’t exactly understand that the others mostly dislike him, or at least tries to never ever think about the possibility of it. him concluding that she’s drunk or something and stepping over her was both a tiny sarcastic remark and also something to make himself feel better and give a sort of explanation for why she said that. like oh surely that’s not how she really feels about me! no Pal

-AGAIN. everyone and their mother has talked about this but the part with him going up to pomni and asking how she is is like. I view everything as being evidence but this is like the most explicit “there is no other explanation other than this” evidence for the idea that jax almost solely relies on the other circus members no matter what the nature of the attention/reaction from them is. he purely seeks out anything he can get from them to feel seen and noticed and real. the most peculiar part of this interaction to me is that he doesn’t spin it around to talk about himself really except for the “wish i could say the same” statement. like you would think he’d be like Ughhh my day has been awfulll but no he apparently just wants to know if pomnis good? ???? thats the one thing that sorta perplexes me here lowkey

just had a thought. what if rio and teen are working together? seems like a bit of an odd coincidence that they both showed up at agatha’s at the same time to try to pull agatha out of wanda’s mind control spell. like, i’m guessing the timing is supposed to coincide with wanda’s “death?” and that’s somehow what allowed agatha to be found by them? because i’ve assumed that when wanda cast that spell, she made it so no one else could find agatha (“no one will ever bother you”). but once wanda died the spell….idk, became destabilized? (the magic rules seem a bit hazy here. i remember something from infinity war about how breaking a dead man’s spell is nearly impossible, which also makes me wonder why nobody is questioning how agatha broke out of wanda’s spell, but you know….there’s no time for details lol. it’s fine kids don’t worry about it.)

anyway, so let’s say wanda’s “death” destabilized the mind control and that’s how rio and teen could find agatha (because if agatha was findable before, it doesn’t make sense that everyone else would have just left her alone, especially her enemies).

but also how did rio and teen find her but the salem seven needed rio to tell them where agatha was? maybe only people with a personal connection to agatha could find her, at least that quickly? which would mean teen has a personal connection to her. HMMMMMM.

anyway. it’d make sense that rio and teen are somehow connected. rio could have put the sigil on teen. and maybe teen doesn’t know rio. maybe rio somehow set him on the path to finding her…for reasons? teen might be operating on his own, but maybe rio is pulling strings from behind the scenes, manipulating him somehow.

unrelated, but the ballad says they’re supposed to have their familiars by their sides. so where is everyone’s familiars? WHERE IS SCRATCHY???

also kinda confused how the road works. like teen can come along and participate even if he’s not in the coven, but he joined hands with the others when they were making the potion antidote and setting intentions. and there are five members of the coven. the ballad mentions earth, air, water, fire, but what is agatha? and are all witches supposed to fall into one of those four areas or are those just specializations? can you choose your specialization or are you just born with it? am i thinking about this a little too hard because mcu worldbuilding is not always exactly robust lol. probably. (but it’s fun.)

also i love the concept of “analog magic.” that really cracked me up thank you for that teen. but does that mean anyone can do analog magic? even if they’re not a witch? if you don’t need power to do it, couldn’t anyone do it if they have the knowledge? are you born with power? or the ability to access it? and then it can be bound or taken away obviously.

anyway im not gonna worry too much about minor plot holes or magic system inconsistencies, because im here for the emotional story first and foremost, butttttt i am still very curious about all these things.

oh but one more thing—WHAT HAPPENED TO RALPH BOHNER. that was supposed to be his house “agnes” was living in for three years.

idk, what you personally mean by 'special'. i'm probably repeating myself by now but: not that we have a lot of comparison when it comes to paul & his other costars, but i haven't seen either of them as comfortable off set with their fellow costars as they are with one another (& this doesn't have to mean anything beyond them being besties). yes, we know that paul is good friends with both saoirse & daisy, but i think (& that's just my personal opinion) that the friendship that he & andrew have is a much deeper bond, you can tell based on the way they vibe & the way they talk about one another. having said that, it doesn't mean that either of them couldn't be friends with anyone else or have chemistry with anyone else or have a 'close bond' with anyone else. i just think they share a lot of similarities & just genuinely enjoy one another's company & they both seem to believe that this is a relationship that they'll have until the end of their days -- so i think that's special. & because we haven't really seen paul interact with his costars that much, i'm curious to see how he'll get along with josh, and since they are already friends, i think they'll get along great & it will be a fun press tour. that's all.

Like, who out of the truly secondary (as in, they don't appear that much/aren't that central to the plot) characters you like/enjoy writing the most/least and why?, what scenes came easily vs which ones were a pain to get just right? , is there anything/anyone that's been flying under readers' radars but will be "a surprise tool for later"? , when it comes to reader reaction, is there anything in particular you didn't expect or that you thought may happen but didn't?

And finally, when writing about the Tullys (Kermit, Elmo, Oscar, Grover...), have you ever been overcome by the mental image and ensuing hilarity of everyone else as human and them as Muppets? (I had the realization midscene and got the giggles BAD 🤔😲😳🤭😂)

i'm always getting such fantastic questions from you guys and don't worry, i can actually answer all of these ones haha

out of the truly secondary characters, it's hard to choose a fav when it comes to writing them. it's good that you narrowed down which ones you meant by secondary bc i love almost all of my ocs but it just so happens a lot of them also reoccur and play important parts LOL. if i had to choose someone tho...maybe matilda? she just gives such matronly but no-nonsense vibes and i have nothing but respect for that personality type. not to mention, i feel like with any building/home/estate, the kitchens are always one of the places where everybody knows something. it's where the food gets made which already gives very "this is the heart of the place" vibes but also lots of ppl pass through there, which means there is always tea (both literally and metaphorically). matilda's fun to write bc she's aptly positioned to receive a lot of information, while also being highly responsible and respected for her job (srsly never EVER mess with the cooking staff anywhere), and idk i just like that abt her lol. i realize i haven't written much of her yet but hopefully that'll change soon. also who knows, my answer for fav secondary character to write might very well change as we go along (i did say this was a difficult choice haha)😅🤷🏻‍♀️

as for least favorite? bors. it's bors. no real spoilers but yeah, you'll find out why

what scenes came easily? is it bad if i say none😭 i think almost every scene i've written has been jam-packed with detail/characterization which means very little relaxation while writing for me lol. oh actually, on second thought, i think any scene with vermax? just bc he never actually says anything and his interactions with jace are all pretty straightforward. LMAO that's not a v interesting answer but it's the best one i have for you rn😂😂

as for what scenes were the hardest/took the most pains to get just right, i'd have to say the really emotional ones just bc whew - jace's emotions are really quite heavy and i want to convey how he processes (or doesn't process) them as authentically as possible. his scene with daemon in the dragonpit took me forever and i was constantly switching back and forth btwn writing that scene and other ones bc i needed the brain break

weirdly enough, i'd say any scenes between jacemond themselves are both easier and more difficult? they're in a weird liminal space. on one hand, they flow quickly bc i love writing them, they ARE our romantic leads after all lol, the origin and main impetus for why i'm writing the story (besides fixing what hotd broke), but also their scenes together are always charged so i have to do a lot of thinking while i'm working on them

my only advice for now regarding something that's been flying under the readers' radars but will become a special little mousekatool (god how american of me) for later in the story is:

if we're going off what i've read in the comments/seen in my asks, i will admit i was surprised no one mentioned jace's relationship to rhaenys in terms of how he learned to braid from her. then again, i'm just very soft abt the idea of baby jace getting his little fingies caught in her hair and then jace practicing on his siblings+parents after they moved to dragonstone. but honestly i'm just endlessly thankful for all the responses and continued interest regardless🥹💕💕

ok i think its like. in paper its really good. the impact the s2 finale has on carmy that makes him trigger this defensive coping mechanism he has where he just spirals into something Worse over growing and improving is to me a good choice tbh? as in, i personally enjoy characters with messy approaches to trauma who aren't Very Good At Handling It. i thought also syd was the Star of the season to me.. to me syd is a very special character bc in lots of ways she is the propeller for things to be set in motion. syd's belief in the restaurant, in others, the way her presence inspires others and makes them like her and respect her and try to change for her, i think it's all genuinely so good. and i think the fact she is such a loving and caring person shines through her personality so much and i love the little touches throughout the season.. her interactions with richie, syd bringing food for nat and the baby, the fact she was the 2nd call nat did in an emergency, of course tina and syd forever my highlight, syd being there for marcus' grieving time, and literally every interaction syd has with carmy even if he doesnt appreciate it its so good. idk. syd is the most solid character in the show and i did find it interesting that in s2 when carmy kind of pushes her up and brings out the best in her, s3 carmy is kind of the entire reason why she doesn't feel As Good about anything rn.

like. he refuses to cooperate. when people talk about the bear, it's carmy who takes all the credit, it's carmy running the menu, it's carmy taking the shots, it's carmy who's going to give her the star, etc etc. and i thought it was interesting how you could see episode by episode syd's resolve and self-esteem crumbling until she has a panic attack - and carmy isn't even Voluntarily causing this, its literally just a side effect of his own making because of how he acts and how he influences everyone around them and him not taking care of his mental health impacts Everyone Else.... i'll get you out of there donna btw if anyone cared... "where did he pick that up?" indeed..... but anyway this is why i think i was also curious about the set up to syd possibly leaving for the other restaurant or at least seriously considering it. bc i do think it'd be the best for her. even if she Shouldn't have to consider it yknow?

i also loved napkins. i think everyone loved napkins but omfg the way i cried over that episode.. tina my everything. i think its the best ep in this season! the writing + directing was stellar and it just means so much to me. i love when the bear is about loss and grief and finding your place in a world that keeps rejecting you but overall when its about Love. "do you know how much i loved him? a lot. i loved him a lot" haunting my every waking moment... ice cubes also ruined my day and made me sob for like 40 minutes i was crying while talking to my girlfriend it was a whole mess... nat .. Ohhh nat.......

but like . i didnt have fun watching it as i usually do w the bear 😭 idk... like i said on paper its fine. i thought the flashbacks to mikeys funeral and carmys life during his culinary studies and when they find out abt mikeys passing it was all really well done? but other than that it was like. some scenes were good. but napkins and ice cubes were the only good from start to finish esp napkins. idk i found it very.. i think it somewhat lacked a purpose. i also feel like it was just a lot of Showing things, like, after the 700th montage+quick cut in from a flashback+a close up of carmys eyes looking distressed i was like. Yeah i got it can I get some dialogue that isnt something that feels like word vomit pls and thank u... I thought the humor landed only sometimes and sometimes it kind of felt like a parody of itself. like if someone tried to do a sketch of the bear thats what itd be.i feel like it just lacked stronger narrative objectives.. the bear's objectives for seasons are usually very simple but executed nicely, but i think they fumbled the execution a lot.. which is a shame bc i dont think ill be rewatching s3 as much as i rewatch s1 and s2. i hope s4 is a lot better tho!

anyways did you know that the mormon church does not have a consistent solid explanation for the existence of dinosaurs? the best answer you'll get if you try to look up their official stance right now is "idk dude. we just don't really know where all that fossil shit came from or why it's here. like it definitely exists but we're soooo confused about it! who knows how long the earth actually existed before Adam and Eve dropped out of the Battle Bus? who even knows if the whole 'god creating the world in 7 days' thing was literal or if those 'days' were actually much larger periods of time? god COULD have been fucking around with dinosaurs down here for millennia before deciding to nuke them all and then wait a really long time so we'd have cool bones and oil and stuff to find in the dirt. it's not really our concern. there has been no divine prophetic revelation about t-rexes but we're pretty sure they were real. either way it doesn't have any bearing on your eternal salvation so it really isn't worth being curious about. idk dude. stop worrying about it. jesus loves you but he also wants you to quit asking us about dinosaurs"

and the best part is that, in my experience, this is one of those doctrinal issues where the church's official stance ISN'T super well-established or known, so dudes in more regional/local positions of authority will just make shit up that sounds right to them and church members will take their word for it. so you've got some mormons who believe that god was doing some cool science shit and making crazy lizards down here that none of us would ever get to see, but you've also got ones who are hardcore creationists that believe the earth is less than 10k years old and fossils were fabricated by the CIA or something, and nobody is probably ever going to correct them because the church insists it has access to all the big brain answers for every question in the universe and they don't like to draw attention to the stuff they can't explain properly.

the explanation I was once given by my mission president was that the earth may have been like... cobbled together from recycled matter from god's other past creations and worlds (y'know, because mormons believe our earth isn't the only world god created and populated, but it just happens to be the Special Main Character Earth because it's the only one jesus personally appeared on. hey have I mentioned this religion is fucking insane)? like playing off of the understanding that physical matter cannot be created or destroyed or whatever. he said it makes sense to him that what science views as prehistoric life probably IS as old as we think it is, but existed billions of years ago on OTHER planets and just had their remains folded into ours. basically he told me the dinosaurs were actually aliens. with his whole chest. as a church-appointed authority figure responsible for instructing and managing hundreds of missionaries who could then go out and tell the people of the Eastern Caribbean that stegosaurus bones came from another galaxy if anyone ever asked them. truly amazing stuff

you're part of an idol group called galaxea and are the group's main vocalist and lead dancer (and resident moodmaker)

you and your members all have astrology related names and you chose yours, vega, after one of the brightest stars in the sky <3

your group is fairly popular amongst the 3 realms bc you guys are so super duper talented and very well rounded !!! there's nothing you guys can't do and you're always open to experimentation and trying new things which is part of the reason why your group is as popular as it is — you guys always come back better than before

anyways, bc galaxea is an extremely popular idol group amongst the 3 realms, your managers have special makeup designed for every member in your group

a charm was placed on them so that when you weren't wearing the personalized enchanted makeup, nobody would be able to recognize you as a celebrity

it's been a bit of time since you arrived in the devildom and you're steadily growing closer to the boys

you two haven't really interacted, whenever you ended up passing each other in the hallways levi was glued to his phone or had his headphones on

to be completely honest, you felt a little nervous to talk to him since you've heard from his brothers that he can be very intense about his hobbies and interests but they won't actually say what they are, probably to let you find out yourself or to embarrass him later on

that, and you think he hates you. like a lot. he refuses to interact with you but in reality this boy is just super nervous :(

sometimes when you're just chilling wherever and drawing in your sketchbook he'll walk past and take a split second to peek and one time he swore he saw you drawing what looked like an idol that he recognized, but he speed walked too fast to tell who it was and now he doesn't wanna walk back because that would be really stupid and obvious and you'd totally find him gross and—

when levi snapped back to reality he was back in his room, probably having subconsciously walked there 

he internally groaned, scolding himself for being a coward

he was so nervous over what you might think about his interests (esp bc of how much he got made fun of for them) and he figured you'd enjoy spending time with his brothers better anyways

asmo had ordered a haul of skincare products off of akuzon at the same time levi placed a new manga order, so the avatar of lust asked you if you could go get it for him because it was pretty likely levi just picked up all the packages without reading the labels

"alright, but are you sure? he doesn't… hate me or anything, right?"

"WHAT? are you kidding me?" asmo practically screeched

he could literally see how obvious it was that levi wanted to talk to you but he was just being a stubborn little shit about it and it was physically killing asmo to watch it happen

"no no no. he's just nervous! that's how he normally is. he doesn't take to new people very well since he's pretty reserved, but i'm sure he'd love you once you guys actually had a convo! and if he doesn't, then at least i don't have to share you even more than i already do <3"

a small giggle escaped your lips before you thanked him and went off to go meet your doom

you tried to stay calm but really didn't know what to expect and just hoped for the best

you reached his door and took a breath before gently knocking on it

a few moments passed before you heard any semblance of sound.

"what's the password?"

you blinked in shock. you didn't expect there to be a password, and knowing how practically everyone was banned from levi's room, you figured that it would be useless to ask anyone else for help

he grabbed the box he had set down by one of his shelves and stared at it

in all honesty, he had noticed it was addressed to asmodeus a little after he had unboxed his manga, but he really wanted to start reading it asap and felt too embarrassed to go and give the package back almost immediately after he entered his room 😭

he sighed and opened the door wide enough to slip the box through

he heard a quiet "thank you" from the other side before a tiny gasp sounded and his internal alarm started going haywire

he tried to close the door as quickly as possible but then he heard you say "is that an aquarium?"

he froze.

now what?

if he shut the door on you he'd be a jerk and you wouldn't ever talk to him again. on the other hand, he didn't know if you were,,, cultured,,, or not. he assumed you were a normie, but maybe, just maybe, he was wrong?

he sighed and opened the door a little wider for you to clearly see behind him

"yeah, it is. what about it?"

and the moment he saw your eyes light up in awe his heart stopped

later at night he'd shake it off, thinking he was just actually going insane, but he swore in that moment he felt his heart flutter (to his dismay and vast disapproval)

he didn't know what it was exactly but he felt something and that was bad enough as is in his opinion

and when you excitedly asked "is that a demon slayer poster?" as you noticed it hanging on one of his walls, he practically pulled you inside his room

"you — you know what it is?"

"oh, um… yeah! i read it awhile back, who's your favourite character?"

you could practically feel the excitement radiating off of him and your spirits started to lift

levi let you look around a little and while he didn't want to come off as too enthusiastic, internally he felt so, so happy that someone else shared his interests. now he just had to see how far he could stretch it

you made small comments and squealed excitedly when you recognized certain posters and figurines and asked questions about the ones you didn't know, to which levi would happily provide answers

you teased him a little for all the ruri-chan merch he owned, and the boy just scoffed in response, suddenly a little self conscious about them

and when you gushed about how pretty his room is and said "you're so lucky to be in here all the time!" he knew. that was it. he's done for.

him? lucky? he had never thought that about himself, ever.

and when you turned to look at him, he felt his face flush and he stuttered slightly from embarrassment as a response

he could only hope that the ambience in his room concealed some of the bright pink dusting his skin

you on the other hand?

the light from his aquarium made you glow like a million little stars, and your smile looked like the sun itself had manifested into a single human being

why you, of all people?

this was so stupid. he couldn't believe this was happening.

no wonder his brothers were so soft on you already

but then something caught your attention

there was a poster above his bed that had been hidden by the shadows so it was hard to notice unless you really stared at it for a few seconds after letting your eyes adjust

you decided to walk closer to it and felt your mind go blank.

and when you looked closer, there were aesthetic polaroids, photo cards, and notes with your song lyrics from your different albums surrounding it, like a collage.

while levi's anime merch was an organized chaos and cluttered his room, covering almost every available space, this was neat and meticulously placed.

you turned to him, surprised to see him wide eyed

however, all you got in response were nervous, incomprehensible stammers again

levi sighed before arranging his thoughts into actual words. "l-look, it's a little embarrassing, a guy stanning an idol group like this, but i can't help it! galaxea's music is so good, and the meanings of their songs are really poetic, and their performances are amazing, and their personalities are so genuine and fun, and they're only one of the biggest bands in all of the realms right now! can you blame me?"

hearing him say that made you want to start sobbing (ik i would 😭). he really thought that highly of your group? 

unsaid words lingered on the tip of your tongue. part of you wanted to see what would happen if you had told him that you were there on the poster, but you had a contract to honor and an identity to protect

besides, now that you were finally befriending levi, would he then only want to get closer to you because you were an idol he practically worshipped?

the odds were slim, but you had witnessed it too many times to take any chances

besides, messing with him and letting him figure it out himself would be a lot more entertaining 😌

it had been a few moments now, and levi was growing increasingly more embarrassed over his mini tangent. why did he say that? jfc levi way to go y/n definitely thinks you're weird now—

as for you, well, you expected to get scolded for taking an hour and a half, but you didn't expect asmo to tease you this badly

on a different note, that night levi couldn't sleep.

sure, he deals with pretty rough insomnia (which is why he stays up all the time playing games and watching anime — it keeps him occupied and helps pass the time) but he literally was about to scream

his head was pounding. his thoughts were loud and chaotic, and he needed something to quiet it down before he officially lost his mind.

he instinctively looked up at the collage above him before connecting his headphones and shuffling the galaxea playlist he had made specifically for nights like these.

he felt embarrassed, but he kept replaying his interaction with you over and over and over again in his head, analyzing and committing the tiniest details to memory.

the way your hair fell, how you smiled, the sound of your laugh and the light, clear sound of your voice. your presence alone was comforting, and he hoped some of those feelings of safeness and security would stay a little longer just so that he could sleep. but something was… off.

he had never met you before, he was 1000% sure of it.

so then why did you seem so familiar?

talking to you was so much easier than he thought it would be. it felt natural. he was surprisingly relaxed just hanging out with you — any anxiety had almost completely disappeared in your presence.

you felt like sunlight, and even if he hadn't felt the warm rays on his skin in,,, a very long time, there was no other way to describe this feeling.

and he only got that fluffy, warm feeling when he was watching his comfort characters on screen and listening to idol groups he liked, specifically the one he was listening to right now

and as vega's crystalline voice rang out and sang "let's get lost at sea in these cold waves of the universe, as long as we're together, anywhere is home with you," he smiled, thinking that maybe a friend really is what he had been wanting all along. and as he was finally dozing off, he found himself eager for the next day to arrive — something he hadn't felt for as long as he could remember <3

hanrim= high school graduate, top at martial art in her special unit, raised by her father (stated she didnt had a mom), had a rough time in middle school

hwajin= His dad used to be a teacher too and spoke fondly of his dad bringing him chicken , university graduate, obedient kid (? said he lisent to his parents a lot so?), was engaged or married to gayoon choi, resecently seemed to get emotional when whale explained he also raised by his dad.

I'll be honest, I haven't really thought much about Hwajin's and Hanrim's backstories since every arc of this manhwa is absolute banger, I just kinda let the author take me wherever lol.

But hey! It wouldn't hurt right? If it's just speculating.. even if I say something silly, I'll be forgiven, right? Heheh. I did entertain the idea of Hwajin coming from an abusive household and Choi Gangseok taking custody of him at some point and raising him.

Would anyone care for some parallels.. anyone out there who'd like a bit of a heart break? Lmao

Ah, but first Hanrim. For Hanrim I think it won't be necessary for us to theorize. There's a manhwa called Hanrim Gym (romanized as Hanlim too). I think much of Hanrim's story was (or will be) told there (not 100% sure, I've only read around 2 chapters lol but I'm planning to catch up on it soon). But hey, if you're curious, I think it's worth checking out. I think Hanrim appears around chapter 10 or so, maybe earlier. I suspected she's some sort of a delinquent in her teenage years.. and as the story's panning out, I think it's highly likely she actually is.

Now for Hwajin. I got the notion that he might have been abused/neglected as a kid from Minseo's arc (the cute 6 year old, seriously so cute, so cute, damn my heart Minseo is the cutest kid fr). Out of all the cases, Hwajin seemed particularly affected by Minseo's case (well, me too but like man poor baby seriously.. who among y'all wasn't affected??).

It just struck me something odd that the story seemed to be hinting to some kind of instant recognition in Hwajin regarding Minseo's situation when he first noticed him at the convenience store.

I mean, Hwajin's a military man (I'M NOT SAYING MILITARY PEOPLE ARE COLD AND INDIFFERENT!! But), he's not a child psychologist or like idk.. he's not even a dad as far as I know, but the way he spoke from "Minseo's perspective" (and how he generally sympathized with him) made it seem as if it's all familiar territory to him.

So like idk, maybe I'm just reading into it too much. Maybe any guy sensible enough would say the same things. Maybe it's only natural to lose your cool when dealing with such garbage people who'd hurt their own kid to the point that the child would rupture their liver (no shit, I'd start swinging a baseball bat myself) but hey, it's just speculating so it's fine hahah.

First impression

I always liked hunter from the very beginning, as early as knowing he was the guy introduced next to belos in the s1 finale, i just was curious to know more about this weird teenager belos had clearly given special treatment to. I was already interested in belos as a character so seeing hunter was already leaving me curious because of that alone.

I didn't know what he would be about till he showed up, but i was a fan before he got popular, cause he didn't until ep 6.

Impression now

Still love him, think he's probably one of the best additions to the series as a whole, he's constantly intriguing and interesting and has some of the most interesting drama in the series, his connection with belos adds to him as a villian and hunter is just well written overall.

Honestly baffles me when people either think he's awful or boring, ect ect.

Most people who say this stuff, kinda just seem like they don;t understand his character at all? that or they're biased.

Even if he's not your thing i think there's good reason ppl quickly got attached to him.

The way they managed to make him understandable and sympathetic even when he's technically working for the villain just works so well.

Honestly i do love his scene with luz in HP when they just talk about things and he admits he's powerless and wants to be free, it's just a nice small scene and his interactions with her are so cute.

His fight scenes are also glorious.

I....don't think he needs to change his name, or that he even needs to be a clawthrone either. Even if belos did name him after his job role, hunter does not automatically need to change it to something else, witch hunting is not his identity and it never was, hunter doesn't even know what a witch hunter really is.

If he wants to change it, sure, but he doesn't NEED to.

And ppl really want eda to adopt him but the show currently doesn't at least feel like it's setting that up, tbh based on these last few episodes it seems if anyone is taking him in it's darius they're setting up for that role as he is the adult they are giving the most of a parental connection to him. (a bit fast yes, and i think darius was still quite mean to hunter before he saw hunter rebelling and i feel that should not be overlooked because he he talked down to hunter like that was pretty bad, but still).

(Also i dunno, if wittebro married a clawthorne does that technically make hunter eda's grand uncle in a way? would that make adopting him weird or because it was so long ago it doesn't matter since they'd share very little dna at this point?)

Being demisexual and a hopeless romantic was not a fun combination. For me at least. I knew my fantasies were just that. I mean come on, I’ve only had a crush once before and that was in sixth grade. But reading all those fanfics made me so curious about certain things.

I was just chilling in my room, YouTube playing in the background while I read fanfic. Inumaki sat beside me, occupied with his own phone. Inumaki was one of my best friends here, and it was rare for us both to have free time, so we’d just spend time like this when we could. 

You know how I said I’ve only had one crush before? Yeah, well the count should be at two now. Inumaki and I got along so well, and the small shows of affection he showed me was not helping. Of course I rationalized it to be the way he shows he cares without using words since he kinda can’t, but I noticed how he’d do certain things only with me. We all know he’d never share his snacks, but he surprised us all when he shared with me. It made me feel special and cared for in a way I haven’t felt before.

I suspected that perhaps, he may like me back, but I don’t let those thoughts linger. I didn’t know if it was just me being biased, so I acted normal. I treat him how I would’ve treated any of my other friends. Although, my other friends don’t feed me their food if I ask to try it.

Anyways, reading this one fanfic had me thinking, what does kissing feel like? Even though I wanted to save that for whoever I date first, curiosity also nipped at me. I glanced at Inumaki, he laid on his back, scrolling through something. So I decided to be nonchalant about it.

“Inumaki,” I called out, gaining his attention. “Have you ever kissed anyone?”

To be honest, I don’t think he has. Not that I don’t think he couldn’t get anyone to or anything, but I feel like his lack of ability to communicate verbally would hinder that. But I asked anyway because you never know. His startled expression was cute, but I kept those thoughts to myself.

Nodding hesitantly, he spoke nervously, “Salmon.”

“Really?” I asked with wide eyes. “This might be a weird question, but I’m curious what it’s like. Was it actually like the way they describe it in romance books?”

Inumaki turned away, “Bonito flakes.”

I felt myself frown, damn. Guess I’ll just stick to fanfic. “Oh,” I mumbled. Inumaki tapped my shoulder, gaining my attention. He held up his phone that was opened on the notes app.

‘I meant I lied about kissing someone :(‘

I looked at him with furrowed eyebrows, “Why?”

Typing some more, he replied, ‘Idk, thought that I would seem cooler I guess.’ Inumaki didn’t meet my gaze, he looked embarrassed.

I rolled my eyes and nudged his shoulder with my own, “I don’t really care about things like that. Like I said, I was just curious if it was as good as the books make it out to be.”

Raising an eyebrow, I could tell that he was smirking behind the cloth that covered his face, quickly typing more, ‘We can see for ourselves…’ 

I felt myself warm up at the insinuation, I couldn’t meet his eyes. How could he go from bashful to a menace so quickly? “That’s significant other privileges,” I replied. “So unless you want to be my boyfriend, that’s gonna be a no.” 

Shoving his phone in my line of vision, I felt myself melt at what he wrote, ‘I like the sound of that ;)’ I looked up at him with wide eyes. The winky face did not match the bashful look that was currently on Inumaki’s face. Being in a romantic relationship was something I’ve longed for, and the thought of being with Inumaki like that, it was enough to make me think that this might be another one of my daydreams. 

But no, this was real. The way his cheeks were tinted a light pink, and how his eyes kept wandering back to me. This was in fact reality, not one of my hopeless romantic fantasies. My mind was overrun with so much, it left me speechless. Was he being serious? How do I reply?

“So, you’re my boyfriend now?” I asked, trying to keep my tone light in case he was just joking.

‘I mean if you’re down 👀’

It felt like my chest was gonna burst, I mean, this whole situation is so wack. Never thought this was how I’d get my first partner. Us both testing the waters and making sure the other wasn’t joking. I’d laugh if I wasn’t in the middle of the situation.

“No take backs,” I warned, a bashful smile overtaking me. “You’re stuck with me now.”
