Mo Ran knew that Chu Wanning couldn't be bothered to put up a barrier for himself, but an idea popped into his head. He tossed the umbrella over. "I'll give this to you—catch."

Chu Wanning looked up at him. "Then what about you?"

All of a sudden, he didn't understand what he was thinking. If only his feelings toward people could always be either simple fondness or simple loathing.

The fan opened with a pop. The writing on the side facing others said: "Xue is Beautiful." But the writing on the side facing himself said: "Others are Ugly."

A pause, then he asked, "Oh yeah, Aunt, is this medicine bitter?" "Somewhat. Why do you ask?" Mo Ran grinned. "No reason." But he grabbed a handful of candy from the fruit bowl and stuffed it into his sleeve.

If angst is what you want, Yuwu will deliver. Super fun world building and politicking. Some of my favourite side characters in danmei (Murong Lian, Murong Chuyi, Yue Chengqing, Jiang Fuli). Ximang is everything.

2. 2ha/The Husky and his White Cat Shizun

Mo Ran you will always be one of my favourite danmei boys. I will also never be normal about Ranwan. The ultimate Shizun fucking danmei if you ask me. So many tropes hit so good - the underworld, ghost weddings, flying on swords!

3. Qjj/Ballad of Sword and Wine

My new obsession. Cezhou are hilarious. They’re just fucking around and finding out whilst playing 3d chess. I sense angst on the horizon and I am going to eat it up. So many of my favourite tropes are here.

4. Bing an Ben/Case File Compendium

Meatbun at her most unhinged. Long time bl fans will find lots to enjoy. Iconic to me that the most prevalent spoiler is that there is canon piss kink.

5. To Rule in a Turbulent World

Started off so strong! Feels like it has the longest farm arc but it’s a good time. Strangely wholesome though I think there’s a big political game about to rear its head. Compelling side characters.

6. Mdzs/Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation

I initially loved this so much when I watched the donghua. Yes, I have used it to recruit people into reading Yuwu. Sometimes I wish we got a slightly different version of the story because some of the side characters have so much potential (oh hey Jin Guangyao). The things I like about it have been done better in other danmei I’ve read.

7. Tgcf/Heaven Official’s Blessing

Baby’s first danmei. It’s a gateway drug. It’s not a bad series by any stretch but it’s not my favourite.

8. Svsss/Scum Villain Self Saving System

Tried it, didn’t like it. Transmigration is not for me but I’m envious about the size of the fandom.

In fact I’m envious about the size of mxtx fandoms in general. Can’t wait till they start branching out. Maybe.

Might be one of those be careful what you wish for scenarios 😜

Kim Kiryeo from The Hunter of the Other World Who Is Being Misunderstood

Kiryeo is an archmage from an alien civilization who was reincarnated on Earth. During his period of adaptation he is mistaken for being one of the extremely strong S-rank hunters, even though in reality his true magic capabilities are far more meager. I know pretty much no one’s read this novel, but Choi Noah was a young child who awakened the “Gamer” ability due to trauma. He literally thinks he’s in a game & is absolutely unconcerned with common sense, including the laws. He repeatedly kills “mobs” and “monsters” (usually other humans or humanoids) for “coins.” In his first life, he became the first EX-Rank villain and teams with a devil trying to take over the world, who later betrays him for being “too evil.” The story starts with/right after his death as he “resets” the game to return to age 12 and ends up becoming a hero to “win the game.”

Gwon Ohjin from I’m Not a Regressor

This novel starts with Lee Shinhyuk, the final Awakener of a vicious battle against “the Heavenly Demon,” choosing to regress to kill the Heavenly Demon before so many people died. If you’ve put two-and-two together, you’ll know that Gwon Ohjin’s Black Heaven absorbed the stigma that no one had managed to live through being bestowed, causing said goddess to assume GWON OHJIN is a regressor. He isn’t. He doesn’t know what’s going on. But he IS a scammer, and he sure as hell isn’t going to let the goddess know he stole her stigma off of some dead guy.

Last Movie: I rewatched Nope (2022) recently! one of my fave movies to come out in recent years. I like anything with some sort of spooky vibe and some interesting visuals.

Currently Watching: gosh, i'm in the middle of watching so many things. I'm almost done watching mob psycho 100 season 3 (very much enjoying it!), also watching the thousand autumns donghua as i wait for more volumes to get translated (shen qiao getting screwed over: the series), and im almost done with my yearly saiki k comfort rewatch (saiki my aroace icon <3), and i really need to start jjk season 2 when I find the time!

Currently Reading: ahhhhhhhh i have so many things I need to read on my shelf it's ridiculous! I did recently finish volume 1 of remnants of filth a couple days ago and my self control to hold off buying volume 2 is crumbling at an alarming rate.
